The High Rocks Trail along the Highland Scenic Highway offers an easy, 3 mile out-and-back hike featuring one of the best views in the Central Appalachians. Perched on a sandstone outcropping at over 4,000 feet (1,219 m) above sea level, the overlook provides sweeping views toward Virginia to the east and the Greenbrier River Valley to the south. I imagine this would be an ideal spot to do some stargazing, as there is very little light obstruction from the valley below.

Binibining Pilipina Palawan 2023 Regional Costume

Just like Pluning, a native Palaweña, who dreamt of having the love she always wanted, Binibini 6 - Angelica Danao Lopez resembles a perfect representation of a Palaweña dreamer.

Angelica's costume is a creative representation of her roots where she came from - the last ecological frontier, PALAWAN.

The main inspiration of Binibining Palawan's national costume is the rich marine life and majestic atoll reef of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Tubbataha Reefs.

The cave represents the only attraction in the country that is complete from mountain to sea ecosystem, the World Reckoned Seven Wonders of Nature, Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park.

The sequin embellishments adorned with faux sea weeds, topped with aquatic plants and orchestrated with beautifully made corals signify some of Palawan's riches.

Her bodysuit and accessories are made out of precious pearls and crystals to represent the wealthy resources that lie beneath the grounds of Palawan.

SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY I WANTED TO DRAW SOME DOODLES ABOUT SOME OF IT WITH UNDINA

Anyways here’s some quick ideas:

Meropolis has only one major city in the ocean which is home to the royal family: King Puff, Queen Angelica, and of course Princess Undina. The rest of the ocean is filled with smaller cities and towns scattered about. The best way I can describe it is tears of the kingdom and breath of the wild. Where it’s all under one kingdom with little “pit stop” towns (the horse stables) and medium sized cities (the towns/domains). They sort of rule fresh water areas but only if they connect to the ocean. If you live in a lake or pond that’s up to the mainland rulers.

Fish mobians tend to not really go on land much. Mostly because they don’t have legs and risk of drying out if they get lost or injured. You’ll only really see fish mobians out and about on land if you’re in a seaside town or a lake/river town. They do have water wheel chairs but they’re pretty bulky and sometimes not water proof. So they’ll have to rent one or in Undina’s case, get one custom made. For aquatic mammals such as dolphins, pinnipeds, whales etc. they can go back and forth between having legs and a mermaid like tail. They’re usually the ones who help fish mobians get to land and are even sometimes tour guides for them.

There isn’t a real currency in Meropolis, everything is mostly done by trading. They do technically have one in sand dollars but that’s mostly used for tourists who forget to bring items to trade and they aren’t worth anything on the main land (unless you really like sea shells). Thankfully fish mobians love shiny things like shells, hooks, jewels etc. and will happily take a fork off your hands for some fish made jewelry. And don’t worry about the teeth thing in the picture, a lot of fish tend to loose and regrow back their teeth in at least two weeks. It’s the equivalent of seeing a surfer dude with a shark tooth necklace around his neck it’s normal to them.

Most Meropolis buildings consist of either organic things like giant coral/shells or sunken ships and man made objects. It isn’t surprising that if a ship sinks and the owners of the ship try to retrieve it some fish mobians would try and bargain with the owners to let them keep it as a new home or shop. More high tech buildings in the cities have air pocket rooms so air breathing mobians can visit and even stay underwater comfortably. Air charms do exist so you can breath underwater but most land dwellers don’t find it comfortable to sleep and slowly float to the ceiling or have their hair and clothes constantly flowing about.

Miles is a river in flood, a One Man Band, to quote the title of his latest album, which marks a return to the origins for the English artist.

The last time I interviewed you was in the middle of the pandemic. You told me that the title of your previous album Change The Show came to your mind while you were watching TV and they were broadcasting a confrontation between Biden and Trump. The years go by, but it seems to me that it hasn't changed that much...

(Laughs, ed) Yes, you're absolutely right! We're on point!

Your last album, on the other hand, is a return to the origins: just you and your guitar, just like when you played in your bedroom as a kid. What made you look back?

I don't know, I suppose it's one of those spontaneous things that happen before you start making a new album. I wanted to go back to making heavier songs, and one day I wrote the song One Man Band and sent it to my cousin James (Skelly, frontman of Coral, ed), who then produced the entire album. We immediately realised that that piece had something special. That song had captured exactly the identity that the record would have, you know? And so once the first song was ready, the others cascaded. Every album I write is always very personal, but this one is even more so.

Often artists with a long career behind them when they want to make an album that sounds like their first fail, or in any case you feel that it is pale imitations, also because it is a difficult thing to do. In this case it is not so.

I like what you said: "it's hard to do". It's very true, especially after you've made some album it's hard to have the same kind of energy as the first album. But I think I succeeded with One Man Band, both in terms of energy and quality. I set the bar very high and now I intend to keep it there.

I was wondering: when you recorded the first auditions for the album, did you start playing the guitar of the songs you played when you started?

Yes, I started playing some old 60s pieces, beats, garage, surf guitar, guitars and vocals, with very personal lyrics, which have always been my highlight. I want to keep doing it and improve even more for the next album.

You have a special relationship with Italy: you have many friends here, as well as your biggest idol: Roberto Baggio. How was it to meet him in person?

It was the best day of my life! (His eyes light up, ed) He was fantastic, he welcomed me to his house with his wife and daughter, we sat down and drank wine together for a couple of hours. It was a really powerful meeting on a spiritual level, if you know what I mean. He was really nice to me and that afternoon he really did something to me: something like that will probably never happen to me again in my life and I feel very lucky and grateful for that. I remember very well when I was a 10-year-old boy and I was a big fan of his, then 20 years later you write a song about that and it happens that he listens to it and invites you to his house. It's an amazing story that includes my childhood, being a songwriter and meeting your hero. It's proof that if you really believe it, things come true in the end, even if it certainly doesn't happen often. It still leaves me speechless if I think about it.

Also because he is a very shy character, who has always lived away from the spotlight.

Exactly! And this makes what happened even more extraordinary. No one would have ever expected something like this to happen!

Next item on your to-do list: have Baggio see one of your shows.

Yes, absolutely, I would love to. I hope it really happens one day.

Moving on to English football, I know you're rooting for Liverpool now, but you used to cheer for Manchester United.

My uncle, peace to his soul, took me to watch the games and as a child I was crazy about Eric Cantona and all those players who had a style just like Cantona, Maradona, Baggio... There is something different in each of them compared to all the others, their style, their being totally out of the ordinary. I've always been attracted to characters of this type and I always gravitate to everything that is different from the norm, I don't know if I explain myself.

Are there still players like that today in your opinion?

I have to think about it... To be honest I'm a little out of football now (laughs, ed). Now I follow boxing a lot, that's my favourite sport. I still like soccer, but I'm not a diehard anymore.

The last time we talked, you told me that your dream in the drawer was to make a soundtrack for a movie. Where are we?

Well... it hasn't happened yet as you see (laughs, ed). Although in my side project Miles Kane And The Evils there are instrumental pieces to the Link Wray, Dick Dale, you know that kind of music to the Pulp Fiction soundtrack, surf music. That's a project I'll focus on very soon and it's very exciting.

In reviewing your latest album, our editor Enrico Baroni wrote that The Best is Yet To Come would be the perfect theme for the villain of a Guy Ritchie movie. Do you find yourself?

I like it! It would be a dream come true. I love Guy Ritchie! Have you seen his latest series on Netflix, The Gentlemen? She's gorgeous, as far as I'm concerned he can have all my songs he wants.

You also have many friends in Italy: last year you performed at Mi Ami with Angelica.

That's a great festival! I'd like to play there again next time, there was a really nice atmosphere, nice bands in the lineup.

On Instagram you don't hide your fixations for our country: you often share songs by Celentano, photos of your Bialetti mocha and so on.

(Laughs, ed) Yes! All real, all things that I like so much, I don't pretend!

I imagined! In fact, I think that many here are surprised that you have not yet decided to move to Italy.

(Laughs, ed) Right? I think that could seriously be the next phase of my life. Who knows, maybe the time has come for Miles to move to Milan!

You wouldn't be the first: your friend and colleague Nic Cester has been shuttleing between Milan and Melbourne for years now. By the way, where are you with the Jaded Hearts Club?

We've already written a couple of songs, but I'm sure we want to write more. For now it's all still quite in the air...

It would have been nice to succeed and continue the tradition of 8 years, but unfortunately no, there is no material time.

But you already have ideas, have you talked about them?

You know me and Al (Alex Turner, ed) talk about it from time to time, remember what we did together and tell each other that we have to make a new album, but we have to start writing the songs first (laughs, ed).

There is no denying the impact that the Last Shadow Puppets have had on your respective careers. Influences that are also felt in your work or in the last 2 Arctic albums, for example.

You know it's probably something that's inside each of us and that's then reflected in the things we both do for our projects, whether it's the Arctic Monkeys for him or the solo career for me. There will always be that component, it's part of us. There will always be some Puppets influences in his discs, as there will be in mine, unless we start writing a dance or techno album. But the Puppets are what we really are. And I think it's a special thing.

A little while ago we mentioned Angelica. While I'm at it, I also wanted to ask about another Italian artist...

Calcutta! I love him.

When are you going to do something together?

We wrote a couple of songs together. And that's also another thing that's... there in the air (laughs, ed). There was the idea of making a small band with him, Angelica and me. We'll see.

You will sing in English and he in Italian?

We only did a couple of songs for the moment, and it was a bit one and a little the other: he sings in Italian and I in English, a sort of back and forth: it's an experiment but we both can't wait to finish it. We did demos here in Milan.

For this disc you wanted to remove all the strings and make it minimal and simple. In Heal I heard references to Michael Kiwanuka.

Did you listen to it at that time?

Probably not specifically, but I'm a fan of his. I really liked his last album and so I take it as a compliment.

Historically there has always been a great connection between rock 'n' roll and fashion. You yourself have a close relationship with the fashion world and have been collaborating with Fred Perry for a long time. Are there other collaborations on the horizon?

Not at the moment, but there are always a couple of options. In the end I do everything by myself, I don't have a stylist, but I'm always open to things like that. The way I dress I want to always express my mood, whether it's with make-up or in a suit and tie or with a glittery glam jacket.

Last question: how do you see the new English scene? Is there really a lack of new working class daughter bands?

No, I think they're always out there. Of course, Brexit has made things more difficult, especially when it comes to tours in Europe. Now it's all much more expensive and therefore more complicated to play for emerging bands in places like France, Spain and Italy.

Do you have any names that you would like to recommend to our readers?

There are many... There's this guy I recorded with whom his name is Tom A. Smith, is a boy from the working class of Sunderland, and he is very good.

I would say Henbane River is the one Tabitha feels most connected too. Its the region that Joseph took her too for their first date, a simple picnic by the river. Tabitha finds the landscape relaxing and the river calming. She also visits Faith at Jessop's Conservatory once a week for lunch.

During the events before and during FC5, Tabitha feels a little sorry for John as well as a little weary. She doesn't like that Joseph thinks he needs tough love to keep him in line and behave. But she wouldn't ever tell Joseph that what John really needs is a very good therapist. She loves her brother in law despite knowing about the baptisms and the confessions. Tabitha always tries to be positive around him and is always bringing him baskets of baked goods to Seed Ranch.

During the events of New Dawn (in my timeline all the Seeds survive) Tabitha still has a lot of love for her brother in law (and her other in laws). Tabitha really appreciates how good of a relationship John has with Hope (her and Josephs third child born in the bunker). John loves all his nieces and nephews but seems to be most close with Hope, teaching her how to skin animals and other handy skills with a knife.

20. How do they feel about Jacob? (You know where I'm going with this question 👀)

During the events before and during FC5, Tabitha is unsure how she feels about Jacob, mainly because she doesn't know if he likes her or not. He isn't exactly a warm friendly person as it is, keeping to himself up in the mountains. And Joseph does not let Tabitha venture to the Whitetail Mountains often if at all. However, they do eventually become closer when Tabitha has to stay with Jacob for a week for her safety. That week together helps the two understand each other better, Tabitha then makes it a tradition to invite the Seed siblings over for Sunday lunch, wanting the family to be closer. Joseph, of course loves this idea.

During the events of New Dawn, Tabitha initially tries to fight and deny her growing feelings for Jacob after Joseph goes into self exile. Tabitha's left with four children, one stepchild who hates her, and the entirety of New Eden to look after and run (thankfully with the help of her in laws but that's still a lot of work for one woman). Jacob steps up, helping her with the kids when he can and being a wonderful uncle, teaching Gabriel and Daniel how to hunt, helping Hope with her bow skills and accepting daisy chains from Angelica.

But eventually she cannot fight her feelings for Jacob anymore and whilst she feels some guilt initially starting an affair with her brother in law, she does come to love him for a time. Even if they do their best to keep their affair a secret. However their relationship does not last, things come to a more tragic end between the two.

22. From Fall’s End which person they DON’T get along with?

Tabitha is known as 'The Mother' after she marries Joseph so really she wouldn't get along with anyone from Falls End let alone any resistance members across Hope County. But I feel if I had to pick one in particular she would not get along with, it would be Jerome Jeffries. Mainly because of all the lies Joseph would have told her about the pastor.

29. How do they feel at the end of all the game events?

Call it cheating but in my 'canon', things do differ slightly to the games ending. Yes the nukes still go off and everyone's bunker bound, but the 'Deputy' does not make it. Tabitha, Joseph, Gabriel and Daniel are all holed up in a bunker together. Tabitha is understandably scared, her whole words just been shaken up and now she has to raise two young boys in a bunker for god knows how long. Tabitha is also worried about her in laws, hoping that they too made it into their bunkers in time and are safe.

Seeking Refuge

OCs: Faraday Heath, Cresc and Angelica (@taterswithranch) and Frenzi Kitts (@k1rameki )

I'm not sure about adding other characters in just yet simply cuz I asked the creators tagged above first and idk others' boundaries, lmk if you want your character written in at some point.

Cresc hadn't said a single word for the entire journey, and that was beginning to worry Faraday. While he could've simply put it up to shock of what had happened, but considering their prior escapade via a harsh river and Cresc being submerged underwater for longer than ideal, the elder was beginning to fear the worse of possibilities.

They had finally reached the treeline behind the neighbourhood streets, although Faraday didn't dare breach past the woodland. Any member of the Musix could be lurking behind a building or standing guard across the road. If they were seen again, there was no way they'd be able to outrun them again.

Faraday carefully dropped Cresc against a tree and crouched next to him, reaching in his jacket pockets for something he desperately hoped didn't fall out while they were in the river. When his fingers closed over the cold metal of his phone, he breathed a sigh of relief and pulled it out. He shook it a couple times to wring out any water in the circuits and switched it on.

He only now noticed how much he was shaking as he fumbled for his contacts, and as he glanced over at Cresc he saw the other was also shivering considerably. As he found and rang the correct contact, he gingerly wrapped an arm around Cresc and pulled him closer, hoping that he'd trap any heat between them.

He raised the phone to his ear.

"Angelica–"

"Mr. Heath!" a sharp, notably panicked voice cut him off, "Where on Earth have you been?! You dare to just disappear after what happened at the college earlier?! I've been worried sick! I have a bone to pluck from Cresc too—"

"A-Actually, Angelica," Faraday spoke up, suppressing an amused chuckle at the dragon lady's concern, "Cresc is with me—"

"Then pass me over to him right now! You both have a lot of nerve disappearing during a school invasion!" Faraday could practically see the rage seething in Angelica's voice.

"I would, but you wouldn't get much out of him," he replied with an exasperated huff, glancing at his colleague again, "he's been stone-silent for about half an hour, probably from shock—" his worry rose as he felt a trembling, clammy hand on his shoulder,"—however I fear the elements might've done a worse number on him."

Angelica finally fell silent.

"Where are you right now?"

Faraday strained his eyes for a roadsign beyond the trees.

"Downside Avenue."

"Both of you stay there, I'll come find you. Keep a close eye on Cresc... and I expect a full explanation when I get there."

The phone clicked off and Faraday pinched the bridge of his nose in irritation. Placing the phone down, he turned to Cresc and reached to gently shake his shoulder. The other stickfigure's eyes were lidded and barely open, his entire body quivering and shaking in the cold air of the forest.

"Hey, come on now..." Faraday murmured in an urgent tone, shaking the man awake again, "you can't pass out on me now." With a pang of dread, he realised what was happening and went to peel off the sodden jacket from Cresc's limbs. The other stickfigure grasped onto it weakly, making a strained noise that vaguely sounded like a plea and made Faraday's chest heavy. He sighed as he carefully eased Cresc's fingers off the garment, stood up and began to wring it out, shaking and flapping it in hopes of drying it off. Faraday would've given Cresc his own jacket if he'd not been soaked himself.

Once the jacket was somewhat dry, he knelt back down besides Cresc and helped him pull it back on. The poor lad was now shivering harsher, tugging the jacket around his shoulders like a feeble blanket. Seeing as he was now somewhat responsive, Faraday snapped his fingers in front of his face to see if he'd react. It was small, but he flinched, giving the elder a dazed glare, which was a relief as it showed he wasn't totally losing himself to the cold.

Hopefully Angelica would find them before any of the Musix did.

"Hey, hey, c'mon, kid, stay with me!"

In the short time that had passed, Cresc had weakened significantly, eyes unfocused and no longer as responsive as before. Faraday resorted to tugging him close to protect him from the harsh winds, staring out into the road beyond the treeline.

Where the Hell is Angelica?!

Faraday grimaced at the cold, finally feeling it seep into his bones as his adrenaline finally fizzled out. He too began to shiver and the two stickfigures were forced to huddle together. It was agonising.

It was getting harder for Faraday's thoughts to remain coherent.

Just a little longer and we'll be fine...

At last, he heard the sound of a car engine come into earshot and he staggered to his feet, pulling Cresc up with him. They limped— in truth, Faraday was supporting Cresc with an arm slung under his, the latter could hardly remain upright —towards the red car near the treeline and barely made it three feet before Angelica came rushing towards them.

"There you are— oh dear God!" her eyes widened at their state, quickly taking them both by the arms and ushering them towards the passenger doors, "you're soaking! What on Earth have you been doing—?!"

"Spare the scolding, Angie, please," Faraday grumbled jitteredly, pushing the younger into the car first before clambering in himself, "just get us out of here!" He fumbled with tremoring hands to fix the seatbelts, wrapping his arms around himself and throwing a worried glance at his shivering colleague. The dragon lady made a face as she hopped back into the driver's seat, slamming the door and practically thumping the pedals.

"You both have a lot of explaining to do."

Faraday sat at the kitchen table with his head down on the surface, listening to Angelica fuss over Cresc upstairs as he beared his own bone-numbing chills. He'd never seen his coworker so detached before. He partially blamed himself for the ordeal; he did throw them both into a speeding river, after all. A reckless move. Careless. Endangering. He chose to ignore the guilt settling in his stomach.

Angelica soon returned downstairs and tapped him on the shoulder. When he lifted his head, he saw a neatly-folded pile of clothes and blankets in the dragon's hands.

"You need to change too, you're no less at risk than he is," she ordered, shoving the pile into his chest.

Faraday stared down at the dry covers now clutched in his arms. "I'll be fine, Angie, please don't fret-"

"I'll fret so long as your lives are on the line." She had that certain glare that meant she wouldn't take no for an answer. "Please."

The other couldn't help but give a small smile in return, rising shakily and nodding. "Thank you," he murmured softly, making a move to walk away until he stumbled over air. Angelica caught him by the shoulders and aided him up the stairs, and he could feel her hands radiating with warmth through his clammy clothes. He suddenly felt incredibly grateful for her company.

As they passed the main bedroom, Faraday caught a glance at his colleague inside. Cresc was tucked under layer upon layer of blankets, yet he could still see his decrepit form shivering violently underneath. He felt deeper pain and guilt in that moment. He caused this.

But if I didn't, then we'd both be dead anyway.

Angelica had guided him to the bathroom, helping him sit down on the toilet lid and closing the door behind her as she left.

"Just let me know when you're done, 'kay?"

Faraday sifted through the clothes Angelica had given him. There was a large long-sleeved sweater with a red trim, orange tracksuit pants and a t-shirt with a chilli pepper graphic and the phrase "just Chilli'n". He chuckled at this; somehow he didn't take Angelica as the type to wear tees like this. It was better than nothing, so he quickly changed out of his sodden clothes and into the dragon's, which he was surprised to find out fit him almost perfectly. He knocked on the door to let Angelica know he was done, and she came in to take his wet clothes and be his crutch again.

Faraday spied a photograph on one of the stands in the hallway, squinting to see Angelica next to another woman standing over a small child in front of their house. "Looks like you'll be the one with a lot of explaining to do," he remarked with a taunting tone.

The dragon rolled her eyes and set him down on the bed, tossing the blankets into his lap. "Focus on yourself and not my home life, Heath," she snapped back, but her tone turned light when she glanced back over to Cresc. She sighed worriedly and went around to the other side of the bed, placing her hand on the man's shoulder. Faraday watched as his friend tensed up and tried to shy away, only to ultimately weaken and cave to the touch with a shuddering whine. It was heartbreaking to see.

"So," Angelica spoke up, staring at Faraday with that same serious glare as before, "since he obviously can't explain what happened earlier, care to enlighten me?"

Faraday didn't know where to begin. Where could he? There was so much he had to explain in order for Angelica to understand, and even he didn't have the full story. He tried his best nonetheless, explaining what and who they were after, how he'd pulled Cresc down into the nearby river, how the latter nearly drowned, how he'd seen these people before but his memory cut out before then—

"Alright, alright, I understand," Angelica raised her hand, though the other noted the increased concern in her voice and expression, "so... you two are essentially fugitives in my home from a group of people hunting you down specifically, yet you have no memory why?"

"Yep," Faraday shrugged, "that sums it up pretty well."

Without warning, a loud banging from downstairs startled them both. Angelica's expression shifted into a protective anger and she took off. Faraday's heart pounded in his chest and he shuffled against the backboard, clutching the blankets to his chest with one hand and instinctively resting the other on Cresc's shoulder.

It's them.

It's them and they found us.

What would they do to us? To Angelica?!

His thoughts raced until he heard a familiar voice screaming downstairs.

"Are they here?!"

"Just upstairs, now hurry inside!"

Footsteps thumped rapidly up the staircase. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw who it was.

"A bit of notice ahead of time would've been nice, Kitts."
