Kill Licenses
Stargirl was excited! Captain Marvel had just offered to let her fight crime with him in Fawcett. The man was like a big brother to everyone. That included her. He was super nice, was normally the person who first stepped up to diffuse a situation, and overall just a big teddy bear of a man. So it was a little bit a of a surprise when she saw him snap a rapistâs neck like a twig.
Marvel: *drops the body, muttering something about paperwork*
Stargirl: *gobsmacked*
Marvel: *looks over to her for a second before doing a double take* âOh my gods I forgot you were here!â *sounds horrified*
Stargirl: âYou just killed a man!â
Marvel: âI know- I know!â *leads her away from the body* âIâm so sorry you had to see that.â *sounds completely ashamed*
Stargirl: âThereâs nothing to be sorry about. You killed a rapist. Thatâs one less evil in the world, but my question is how are you gonna get away with this?! Cap, youâre gonna go to jail!â
Marvel: âAh⊠Well, no. I have a license to kill.â
Stargirl: âWait, you can actually have one of those?â
Marvel: âYeah, uh me, and most of the other Fawcett heroes have one. Weâve all had them since the sixties and had to get them renewed a while back. Itâs not a bad thing to have for situations like this.â
Stargirl: ââŠCan I have one?â
Marvel: âYes? No? I donât know? You should in my opinion. Itâs a good safety net for if you accidentally kill a villain. You just fill out some paperwork and youâll be safe. Do you want oneâŠ?â
Stargirl: âYes.â *immediate answer*
Marvel: âAre you sure? I mean, youâre a teenager, so you might need a parent to sign or something.â
Stargirl: âWell, I donât have a parent right now, but I do technically have a temporary guardian at the moment.â *eyes him*
Marvel: âNo⊠youâre not seriously suggestingâŠ?â
And thatâs how Marvel ended up taking Stargirl to a secret government base so she could get a kill license. Stargirl got a stellar recommendation from the Captain and passed with flying colors.
As theyâre leaving the baseâŠ
Marvel: âOkay, so we need to lay some ground rules.â
Stargirl: âGround rules?â
Marvel: âYeah, ground rules. Now I know youâre not the type of kid to go around killing people all willy-nilly, but Iâll say it just in case, donât go killing people all willy-nilly.â
Stargirl: âWell, duh, Iâm not dumb.â
Marvel: âI know you arenât. And now onto the actually important rule. Under any circumstances, do not kill around other heroes. Thatâs how Huntress got kicked out of the Justice League after all.â
Stargirl: âI canât even do it around you?â
Marvel: âWell, I guess you could. And I guess you could do it around the other Fawcett heroes, but just make sure not to do it around heroes who donât have a license, okay? I donât wanna get in trouble, and I doubt you wanna get in trouble too.â
Stargirl: âGotcha.â
Marvel: âNice. Now that thatâs out of the way, wanna go for victory ice cream since you got your license?â
A solid four months passed after this incident. The two forgot about it. They were chilling. Then, Courtney forgot that her stepdad didnât know that she could legally kill a villain, fill out some paperwork, and face no repercussions.
S.T.R.I.P.E.: âYOU TOOK MY STEPDAUGHTER OUT TO GET A KILL LICENSE?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!â
Marvel: âNothing! I didnât think it was a bad thing!â
S.T.R.I.P.E.: âSheâs sixteen. She sliced a manâs head off. CLEAN. With practiced precision. She doesnât even have a drivers license! What in hell would make you think itâs a good idea to give her a kill license?!â
Marvel: âOkay, her slicing off someoneâs head isnât my fault. I didnât teach her that, and the guys who gave her the license didnât either.â
S.T.R.I.P.E.: âThen who did??â
Marvel: âI donât know! Maybe sheâs just bloodthirsty?â
Stargirl: âNo Iâm not?â *sounds slightly offended*
Marvel: *ignores her* âLook, the point is, Iâm sorry for not telling you but please, please, pretty please donât tell Batman.â
S.T.R.I.P.E.: âWhy?â
Marvel: âOh come on. Heâs super anti-kill. If you told him heâd have me removed from the Justice League almost instantly.â
S.T.R.I.P.E.: âMaybe you should be removed! You donât just give a kid the okay to kill someone.â
Marvel: âIâm not giving her an okay to do anything. I only wanted her to have it as a safety net. I promise.â
It took a lot of convincing for Pat not to squeal to Batman, but thankfully, they got it in the end. Though, the man still ended up chewing the two out.
Inspired by @helps-the-writing-brain-goâs repost on my We Thought You Died?! post :) Thanks for the inspo!

Jiang Wanyin's Dog Part Two (MDZS AU #7)
Part One
Jiang Feinman the diplomat is horrified that his sons were apparently actively training for war behind his back. And by all accounts, his worst fears are confirmed â he who trains for war trains to start war. He only believes half of what he hears of his boys actions at the Wen Indoctrination Camp (the Xuanwu Cave Massacre, some are calling it) but half is enough. Incredibly disappointed in both of them â also why demonic cultivation? Why? Where did he go wrong? But for some reason the more he tries to talk, to teach, to explain, the more he warns about the unrighteousness of striking first, the worse their conversations go. He's used to that with Jiang Cheng, but now Wei Ying, too? The more he pushes, the less they tell him, so eventually he stops pushing.
(They actually did initially intend to explain the time travel, but he was so disappointed by all the murdering that neither of them want to get into all the much much more worse things they did in their previous life so they justâŠdon't. They don't explain shit.)
He still supports the secret Jiang war preparations cover story, pretending to have approved it in advance to other sects, because what else can he do. Really not thrilled about being backed into a corner on that, even though he does eventually accept and even admire the invention of the ghost path, once Wei Wuxian explains it better. Wei Wuxian maybe cries a little at his Uncle's approval.
Too much faith that the whole perfect servant/ master schtick is a front for brotherhood even before the actual reconciliation, but eh, they get there eventually, so heâs not wrong. Manages the homefront during the campaign mostly, though he has his moments of battlefield glory. Major diplomatic success in getting the Jin Sect to side more definitively with the sunshot campaign.
âŠDefinitely dies. Not right away, but he's not meant for war, ya know? Maybe gets the actual time travel explanation on his death bed. Maybe. Touching goodbye either way.
Then, you know that scene in Good Will Hunting where Robin Williams says itâs not your fault over and over again? That, except Wei Wuxian and Jiang Wanyin are both saying it to each other. Clinches the reconnection. Itâs the worst sort of do over, but Jiang Cheng blaming Wei Ying for his parents first deaths was one of their lowest moments, arguably the point things really started to break between them, so having the perspective to very actively not do that is Big. Iâm sorry â this au is about excruciating Yunmeng bros reconciliation, Iâve got to kill at least one family member.
-
Yu Ziyuan approving of the cool distance between the two, proud of her sonâs obvious command over Wei Ying, but disgusted by the fact that her son seems to have completely given up on surpassing him. Flabbergasted that A-Cheng is now intercepting Zidianâs strikes on the shameful cretin â his to punish?? What the fuck does that mean? Whoâs in charge here? How dare you speak to your mother like that.
Ultimately, Jiang Cheng doesnât know how to handle being around his mother. He recognizes many of the things he likes least about himself in her. He recognizes many of the things that made him a successful sect leader in her. I mean, on a certain level he already knew he had become his mother, but holy shit.
She's...mixed on handling her son's ascent, to say the least. The fact that his unquestionable power is so inextricably linked to his command over Wei Ying's even more unquestionable power fucks with her so bad. At least Jiang Cheng had some time to get used to the concept.
He's in his late 30s and bristles at any indication of being subordinate to anyone â Mom's included. He also wants to break down in tears and hide behind her, because that's his MOM, but he canât do that. Heâs sect heir. He's started a war. He's leading a war.
Ok, one (1) night crying into her robes that they never speak of again.
She tends to run battlefields and missions away from the duo. Serious pushback from Jiang Cheng about talking down Wei Ying in front of others, purely for pragmatic reasons, of course â thatâs their sects best weapon. If she survives the war ("So what if he's not coming back? Can't I do anything without him?") then she spends much of her sonâs rule night hunting away from the sect. Does NOT get told about time travel any time soon because they know she would press for details and then kill Wei Wuxian.
-
Jiang Yanli incredibly concerned about her boys after they come back from evil summer camp covered in blood and VERY CLEARLY WAY TOO FUCKED UP FOR A FEW MONTHS AWAY?? Excuse you both you are very clever but are you seriously trying to convince me that you invented a whole ass entire dangerous cultivation path while I was around without me noticing? A-xian, a-cheng are you calling me stupid? No? Good.
On a meta-level, she's built her life around parenting the two of them, there's absolutely no way she buys any story about keeping a long time secret under her nose. The first and possibly only one they actually explain the time travel to, even if they canât bring themselves to tell her everything.
It's deeply distressing to not actually be the oldest sibling anymore, considering how much she defined herself by that, but her brothers don't actually seem to have noticed, so it works out fine.
Her role in the war is slightly larger than canon; the fact that she's bringing an entire support staff of cooks and medics and cleaners that report to her definitely elevates her status and influence. (Headcanon that she basically managed Jiang Wanyin and Wei Wuxian's PR during the war â she's a lot better equipped to do so in this timeline).
She also would also get Instant Respect as one of a handful of people who holds Wuxian's leash, except Wei Wuxian tends to completely drops all necromantic activity when he's within 50 feet of her. It's actually kindof a problem. He's supposed to be passively maintaining some stuff but he's so freaked out about accidentally hurting her that a few perfectly good corpse armies collapse, meaning he has to raise them again from scratch.
They don't get too involved with it, but a few well timed words avoid the worst of the Soup Accusation Debacle and slightly accelerate the Zixuan/Yanli timeline.
Jin Zixuan is bewildered but mostly relieved by the fact that the lead Jiang disciples abrupt personality shift at the start of the war also came with an apparent rise in personal respect of him specifically? Is this because he obviously stepped to defend Mianmian, even though Wanyin and Wuxian did the real work? Jiang Wanyin is noticeably more courteous speaking to him than pretty much anyone else from his clan. Wei Wuxian is a bit harder to read, as he's stopped talked as much, which is bizarre and also fucking terrifying.
(There's a lot to think and feel in the Cave of the Xuanwu of Slaughter. But the fact that Wei Wuxian does not like him and absolutely could have killed him anytime he wanted is definitely up there.)
It's just â even further into the war, when Wuxian starts sometimes relaxing again during downtime, he still avoids Zixuan. Weird but also thank fuck.
-
Lan Zhan is living through a war, sure. But uniquely among his peers, he's also living through a Dark Romance novel! <3
The fun, mischievous boy who he fell in love with at first sight is:
1) the most terrifying powerful dark being who ever lived
2) mildly implied to have ALWAYS secretly been like this and the disobedient but good natured thing was just a cover for the dark truth. Or he might have been corrupted at some point. It's unclear.
3) already in an intense situation-ship with his shidi. (Jiang Wanyin snapping at Wei Ying to stop bothering Lan Zhan and he apologizes politely and then leaves. (Wei Ying definitely yells at Jiang Cheng in private for that but they did agree that he wouldnât give any public evidence of division with the Jiang sect and publicly flirting with Second Master Lan could admittedly be read as split loyalties)) .
But IN PRIVATE â
(Once the yunmeng bros reconciliation starts getting underway Jiang Cheng feels a little bad about how obviously heartbroken Wei Ying is over losing his husband, and formally arranges with Lan sect for spiritual cleansing sessions after major battles as part of managing his first discipleâs cultivation. Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng are completely surprised when Lan Wanjii himself volunteers.)
â Well, when the two of them are alone together, Wei Ying is â not exactly the same person he fell in love with. But heâs still very much Wei Ying. Teasing, provocative, brilliant, righteous â and, and this canât be stressed enough â OBSCENELY sexy.
(Yes, Lan Zhan has learned that his bad taste extends beyond what was, in hindsight, rather petty rule breaking. The whole 'One Man Army' thing is attractive alright? The flute is attractive. Gods help him, even the red eyes are attractive.)
But in private â I mean, the first few times Lan Zhan walks in to play Cleansing only to find Wei Ying tied up provocatively from a âbinding talisman accidentâ he takes it at face value. The man's been churning out one revolutionary invention after another, obviously that requires some testing. But it keeps happening, and Lan Zhan is increasingly panicked that Wei Ying can tell what its doing to his penis. He canât tell, right? Lan Zhan is wearing extra layers to these sessions for that reason exactly and itâs not like his face is easy to read. He canât know about what he's dreamed of doing with his ribbon. He can't know. He canât know.
But shit like that keeps happening. Wei Ying casually mentions that heâs been working on a ritual that might make it possible for men to get pregnant, just as an idle experiment, but of course the only ethical person to test it on is himself. Lan Zhanâs dick gets so hard so fast that he almost passes out. Wei Ying, clearly mistaking the sudden lack of visible blood in his body for disgust (please let him think that, please, please) pouts and teases, âWhat, you donât think Iâd look good pregnant?â Gods be good, heâs holding his stomach and looking up at Lan Zhan through his eyelashes. Lan Zhan didn't even know he was into that! Does this make him more of a cutsleeve or less?? Very nearly goes insane and tries to breed him on the spot. Instead makes a looney toons style Lan Zhan shaped hole in the side of the tent to get away before he bends the man over
Even setting aside the...specifically affecting moments, Wei Ying is so exhausted and soft around Lan Zhan. It makes sense, he's been conquering battlefields, he's been reinventing cultivation, of course he's drained afterwards, that's why Lan Zhan is here â to help rebalance his spiritual energy. But he begs Lan Zhan to take care of him, to feed him, to help him into bed, and it hurts. He knows that it's at least in part a joke but he can't tell how much is him exaggerating his weakness to get Lan Zhan to react and how much is him actually needing help because Jiang fucking Wanyin is ordering him to destroy himself day in and day out, and the whole thing is doing terrible things to the inside of his stomach.
Worry and confusion and fear and anger choking his words even worse than usual, until all he can do is repeat rules about staying away from the crooked path. Lan Zhan scolds him for using resentful energy, sneers at him; he can hear himself and he sounds every inch the jade statue. But somehow, miraculously, Wei Ying understands what he means. He thanks him for being there, for caring what happens to him. Wei Ying tries to reassure him that he'll be alright, really, and how he got 'I am worried about your health' from "your way of living is an abomination" is a mystery, but Lan Zhan is so, so grateful.
Wait.
Fuck.
Wei Ying can either read his face, his words, or his thoughts. FUCK, HE TOTALLY KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING TO MY PENIS.
In public, Wei Wuxian is obediently violent. He's heretical and hyper competent and the only thing that distresses Lan Zhan more than Jiang Wanyin's callous treatment of his undeserved loyalty and talent is the fact that he's starting to wake up in a cold sweat from dreams where Lan Zhan is his leader and Wei Ying follows his orders without hesitation. What does that even mean. He doesn't want to be a sect leader! That would mean that his brother was dead and he would have to talk to people all the time and he doesn't even want Wei Ying to kneel before him! Not like that â not at all â fucking hell, he should not be masturbating this much during a war.
(Not explaining the time travel/ marriage to Lan Zhan is definitely their worst argument after coming back. Difficult compromise says Wei Ying can explain whatever, marry whoever, leave the sect â but only after the war is won and Jiang Sect is secure. Jiang Wanyin does not need Lan Zhan trying to convince Wei Ying to give up demonic cultivation any harder than he already is. He doesn't need him weighing in on shit he doesn't understand with his more-righteous-than-you-attitude. Most importantly, he definitely doesn't need Wei Ying to be running of after his husband when he's supposed to be obeying Jiang Cheng's fucking orders. Wei Ying reluctantly agrees, but he can't give up on having something with Lan Zhan. The end result is maybe a little not great to Lan Zhan, but you know... what's Wei Ying gonna do? Betray his brother's trust? Not chase Lan Zhan's dick? It's an impossible situation and you should feel bad for him. Plus, Lan Zhan's having a hard enough time anyway, he's not good with chang. He would probably not handle having the 'died and then married' bombshells dropped on him particularly well. Yeah...
Anyway Lan Zhan is very much going through 'he's such a tortured soul...only I see the vulnerable, loving truth... unless the soft self is the lie and the darkness is the real him... which would be kindof hot... bad, but also kindof hot... because if he actually is irredeemably evil than everything he does in private is him seducing me on purpose, which would be good except it would be a lie which would be bad but maybe he would do things to my body before he did whatever dark demonic things hes planning ... maybe I could convince him to join the light in truth... no i should have more faith in him he clearly still believes in justice and protecting the weak... unless that actually is at Jiang Wanyin's orders but I'm 80% sure that's a lie and Wei Ying is actually the one insisting we don't take food from farmers without repaying them and I'm even more certain he's the one making sure we accept Wen surrenders... I'm a terrible person for doubting the moments we've shared...
Lan Zhan eventually has a minor emotional breakdown and goes to his brother for advice.
The straw that breaks the camels back is working himself into a panic that Wei Ying might be trying to get him to kill his own brother. It's just... he keeps having sect leader/loyal guard sex dreams. They've been getting more elaborate. There's leather for some reason. And then one time his spiritual energy is too depleted after a battle and Xiongzhang covered his cleansing session, and Lan Zhan had to lay in bed healing. Laying there for hours imagining Wei Ying call Xichen 'gege' and get all soft limbed the way he does in his tent after battle... asking to put his head in Xichen's lap. Wearing just his inner robes around Xichen. The intensity of the rage leads him to suspect a dark spell. (It's just vinegar and lust and the cain instinct, but again, Lan Zhan is going through it.)
Lan Xichen hearing the stripped down version of all this like... honey. Sweet child. What the actual fuck.
Yes, I'm sure he's different when he's with you but... Wanjii. Wanjii, please. Think with your brain, not â I am not the one bringing vulgarity into this, don't look at me like that. A-Zhan. No, brother, you can't 'fix' him. Wanjii why even ask me for advice if you're just going to keep doing the same thing.
Xichen really already had enough on his plate before learning that Wei Wuxian is playing psychsexual mind games with his little brother for nefarious reason.
To be fair to Xichen, he absolutely is doing that, even though it's only half on purpose. But those nefarious end goals are in fact sex and marriage, something he's CONFIDENT Lan Zhan would enjoy! Look, Wei Ying knows he could have sat on Lan Zhan's dick day one, even before establishing a real emotional connection, even before providing some evidence that he's not a literal demon seducing him into darkness. He feels he's showing an awful lot of unappreciated restraint in allowing Lan Zhan to come to him when he's ready to move past the whole 'raising undead armies' and 'upending the natural order' and 'my family will never approve' things.
(alright, it hurts more than he cares to admit to himself to see Lan Zhan look at him with fear, with disgust. He's sticken with worry and grief that without their experience in the Xuanwu Cave something fundamental will be missing between them. But it doesn't take too long before Lan Zhan says something so Lan Zhan that it assures him the care and love is still there. Its not the same but Lan Zhan still insists on following him around during the campaign, which means the chance to create New memories side by side and it's...good.)
Plus, younger Lan Zhan is so much easier to fluster and its INCREDIBLY fun to have the upper hand. The man has not finished developing his thick face â he misses his husband like a limb, like an organ, but the younger model squirms so good.
WAY too much of this is relayed to Jiang Cheng during their daily war strategy/ bro gossip sessions.
I actually think Jiang Cheng, in exchange for being the sole person who has to listen to Wei Yingâs (often graphic) pining over Lan Zhan, should get to out his brother.
He should get to out him a few times! For fun and for profit. Itâs like wingman-ing, but bitchy, which is I think very in character. Wei Ying is either amused by the various reactions, or in the case of Lan Zhan, genuinely thankful. Sure âletting lan zhan come to me when heâs ready and more cool with the ghostly pathâ is maybe the right thing to do, but it kinda sucks ass. Also Lan Zhan might actually have a lust induced Qi deviation if he doesn't fuck Wei Ying soon, though you would think that leaving a conspicuously large jade phallus laying around would be enough of a hint. Whatever, let's throw some black powder on that slow burn!
Jiang Cheng implies he might be open to marry Wei Wuxian out of the sect after the war. Sect leaders âcausallyâ asking what sort of girl his ridiculously OP and perfectly servile first disciple might be interested in. Jiang Cheng nonchalantly describing Lan Wanjii to a T (tall, strong in cultivation, musically talented, more inclined to listen than to talk...) while Lan Wanjii pretends not to have accidentally bitten through a spoon.
Someone trying to offer their daughter to the Jiang Clan ("I noticed your young master Wuxian couldnât help but compliment her beautyââ âHe compliments everyone's beauty. Donât take it seriously.â). Lan Zhan happens to be there, waiting for an unrelated meeting, and Jiang Cheng can't help but take the opportunity to fuck with him.
Jiang Cheng: Ridiculous petition, donât you think. Lan Zhan: Mn. Jiang Cheng: As if Iâd approve a marriage with everyone my shixiong flirts with. Lan Zhan: Mn. Jiang Cheng: (Pausing while he waits for Lan Zhan to take a sip of tea): Heâs obviously a cut sleeve anyway. Lan Zhan: [choking]
After the immediate joy of watching the younger Jade lose his composure, there is later regret because Wei Wuxian is thanking him for giving Lan Zhan a push and. Ugh.
Jin Zixuan on the other hand accidentally gets convinced that Wei Wuxian is in gay love with Jiang Wanyin, while Jiang Wanyin sees Wei Wuxian as a brother, a dynamic Zixuan works very hard to avoid thinking about.
The two sect heirs are having a post battle drink (things werenât bad between him and the peacock, at the end at least, and it might help things in the future (visiting future nieces and nephews) if they could at least be amicable acquaintances).
The evening's going well enough that Jin Zixuan works up the courage to awkwardly ask about rumors of a betrothal between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Yanli. Wanyin surprises Zixuan by laughing, instead of getting incandescently angry. Sure, theyâve been drinking, but he didnât even yell! At all! Jiang Wanyin, still laughing, leans it and confideds that Wei Wuxian has been in love with the same man for years.
Zixuan, shocked: "Wait a man? Heâs â" Wanyin, taking another drink: "No sleeves." Zixuan, slightly confused why heâs even being told what's obviously a politically valuable secret: âWhoââ Wanyin, forgetting that Wei Yingâs mooning over Lan Zhan is not actually that public, and Lan Zhanâs staring at Wei Ying just looks like glaring unless youâve been unfortunately coached on reading his microexpressions. Also forgetting that people do not generally understand exactly whatâs going on between the Jiang Sectâs heir and first disciple, except that itâs weird and intense: âTake a FUCKING guessâ Zixuan: âHoly shit â you mean â oh man, thatâs ââ Wanyin: âYeah. Youâre not the one who has to live with him.â Zixuan: âCouldnât you â I mean does he have to be here â couldnât he operate on different battlefieldsâ Wanyin, suddenly enraged: the FUCK does that mean?? Zixuan: What? What did I â Wanyin: you got a PROBLEM with my cutsleeve brother?!? Zixuan: I thought â I thought you â did you say brother â Wanyin: FUCK YOU! Zixuan: I donât â Wanyin: You think being a demonic rabbit stops him from being my brother?? Zixuan: I didnât say â Wanyin: This is why your siblings are going to hate you! Zixuan: I â my â what do you mean siblings?? Wanyin: You donât just â Iâm not gonna â you donât just abandon family! You donât â you donât send them away! You don't let them leave and face danger on their own! You donât abandon them! It doesnât matter if theyâre a cutsleeve pervert or too into murdering people to solve problems! Got it? Zixuan: Alright, fine, sorry â Wanyin: GOT IT?!? Zixuan: Alright! Alright, I got it! Wanyin, sitting back down, muttering: Maybe if you were a better brother your half siblings wonât fuck everything up. Zixuan: what? Wanyin: Letâs get this straight â I get to make fun of Wei Wuxian. But until you marry our sister you donât get to say shit. Zixuan: I â marry â no one said I â thereâs no â Wanyin: GOT IT??T? Zixuan: Okay! Okay, I got it!
Jin Zixuan is extremely relieved to spend the rest of the night drinking in silence.
Close to the end of the war someone messes with their privacy talismans while snooping. So their daily checkin gets overheard and a bunch of people hear them bicker like children (threatening to pee in each otherâs socks comes up) and laugh about someone's stupid hat, and trade jokes over a meal, which ruins their Untouchably Intense And Threatening Aura somewhat but honestly the aura was a bit much. Like, weâre allies, arenât we?
Honestly a relief for a lot of people to find out theyâre just teen brothers who are good at killing and putting on a very convincing facade (Wei Wuxian literally calls it his âscary faceâ). ALSO Jiang Cheng makes fun of Wei Ying for his super embarrassing crush, âSo he actually greeted you in public! When should I expect a marriage offer?!ââ which Wei Ying responds to by describing how lonely his butthole is and the various objects heâs been using to makes himself feel less forlorn, which Jiang Cheng responds to with wretching and throwing things.
So thatâs some fun gossip.
(Xichen in particular is relieved that his brother hasn't wildly misjudged Wei Ying's true character, and that the Lan Sect probably isn't going to get subsumed by the Jiang)
The wider cultivation world eventually (post war) gets the explanation that Wei Wuxian can remember his past lives and thatâs why heâs Like That.
Life One heavily implied to be evil warlord inventor with some connection to the burial mounds, possibly creating them, who was so reviled as to be wiped from the history texts, fracturing his soul to where Meng Poâs soup leaks out. So that explains a lot. Makes way more sense than someone inventing a whole new cultivation path at seventeen, haha.
Life Two heavily implied to be happy wife of a respected cultivator, which...huh.
(past life husband eventually revealed to be Lan Wanjiiâs past reincarnation, who did not remember this but is unfortunately still in love. The public finds the story unbelievably romantic. His family is not thrilled. The cultivation world has mixed).
Timeline on all this unconfirmed. Amount of time in-between reincarnations indeterminate, he doesnât remember. Will tell anyone who asks too many details about being an excellent wife â apparently he gave his husband a beautiful son but seriously donât ask because he WILL cry and itâs very disturbing. Vaguely implies that he could be any number of people's grandmother.
Smaller number of people know that Jiang Wanyin also remembers his past lives to some extent, but he wonât talk about it. Wei Wuxian very solemnly whispering to fascinated cultivators that when he went insane in his first life Jiang Wanyin lead an army to stop him and thatâs why he trusts him so much to keep under control as his leader now. I repeat: Jiang Wanyin will NOT be taking questions.

âFord is irredeemably self-centeredâ this, âFordâs a bad personâ that, etcâŠ
Alright. Tell me then.
What was he supposed to do?!?!
Be a better brother? Ford loved Stan! When they were children, Ford took care of his brother as best he could. But Ford was also a kid in a bad situation, and there were limits to what he could do. Not to mention that Stan relied so heavily on Ford that it honestly wasnât healthy for either of them. Stan couldnât stand by himself and he wasnât trying. They were both struggling; maybe pin that on the parents instead of the kids.
Not be angry at Stan for messing with his experiment? Of course Ford was angry! This was his dream college; in that moment he thought his entire future was crumbling. I assure you, if my sibling had ruined my chances of getting into my dream school I would have been more than a little upset, and Iâm sure the same goes for most of the people reading this. Of course, Ford did hold onto that anger for considerably longer than was justified, but in this case I would argue that Ford less âheld a grudge for 10 years out of spiteâ and more ânever got the chance to make things right with his brother and held onto that anger because it was better than the nauseating guilt over that final argument, the uncertainty at times that his brother was even alive.â (Which is not to say that Ford isnât spiteful. Our man has plenty of spite. But him being spiteful is not the only thing going on here.) Which brings us to our next point.
Stop Stan from being kicked out? How?! That household does not appear to have been a safe place for either of the brothers. Should Ford have gotten himself kicked out too? Should he have known exactly what to say to talk his father down - the man who just violently threw his twin out of the house? Ford didnât kick Stan out. He just wasnât able to stop it from happening, and thatâs not something any teen should be blamed for.
Behave himself when reuniting with Stan at the culmination of the worst period of his life thus far? Thereâs stress. And then thereâs being dangerously sleep-deprived and at the mercy of a horrifying demon that betrayed you, leaving you alone in a shack in the woods with no one to call for help except your estranged brother, whoâs complaining about a mullet, of all things. Yeah, Iâm not going to say Fordâs behavior was anything other than atrocious here. But really. How well would you handle that?
Thanked his brother? Stan could have destroyed the universe; it makes sense that Fordâs upset! Heâs also had literally decades to stew in the terror and fury he experienced in those last moments before falling through the portal (something which almost certainly would not have happened if it werenât for Stan). Again, Fordâs not acting like the worldâs best brother here, but itâs understandable.
Fordâs not perfect. He can be arrogant, spiteful, and bitter. He makes serious mistakes (often due to his own hubris) that put himself, his loved ones, and sometimes the entire universe in grave peril. Ford is, in fact, deeply flawed. Thatâs part of what makes him a fun character! Itâs also what makes him a well-written and believable character. Yes, Ford acts like a jerk. He does so quite often.
Ford also spends nearly the entire narrative bouncing from one deeply toxic situation to another, desperately trying to survive and make life better for himself and his family and watching as his brother makes mistake after mistake - sometimes making choices with severe, negative consequences on Fordâs own life.
Ford is doing the best he can. Heâd not a bad person. He tries to be good. He tries to do the right thing.
He just fails sometimes.
Donât we all?
#say it with me#Ford. Is Not. A Bad. Person.#Heâs Doing. The Best. He Can.#And The Narrative. Is Dealing Him. An Unbelievably. Shitty. Hand.#anyway donât come after Ford yâall#i will die on this hill#(and donât come after Mabel either thatâs an entirely different post and hill I will die on)#actually letâs be kind to the entire Pines family#I love them#theyâre great#and so well written#wow this post is a bit agressive uhâŠ#sorry but the Ford hate makes me irrationally upset#and I might be overcorrecting a bit because the intention was not to excuse Fordâs behavior at every junction#just. he screwed up. he did. but I understand his choices at every junction? so I find it hard to be angry at him?#gravity falls analysis#gravity falls#stanford pines#gravity falls stanford#grunkle ford#ford pines#gravity falls ford#wow lots of tags umâŠ#sorry im new to the fandom and still figuring out which fandom tags to use#madbard rambles

he wakes up the next morning with the sun.
he stares out his window blearily. finding out he was a firebender at least made his early rising habits make more sense. he made a mental note to try and properly learn it, even if he decided to stay as lee. he should probably try and learn more about the fire nation in general. it was as much a part of him as the earth kingdom was now.
he yawns, makes himself breakfast. he tries putting on the fire nation clothes he was given, and assesses himself in the mirror. they don't look right on him, he thinks. he changes back into earth kingdom green, and instantly feels more relaxed. he braids his hair and heads to work.
the regulars are thrilled to see him again.
lee's happy to see them again too. he'd missed them. he catches up to what they've been up to since he left. lin did attract the attention of that cute bookshop girl. yukio did get into ba sing se university. toshio lets him hold his third child- who promptly yanks on his bangs with impressive grip strength for an infant. owwwww.
as the day goes on, he falls into a familiar rhythm. jin drops by on her lunch break to see him. he takes his lunch break in the back, catching up with his coworkers. he tells everyone that he was asked to be the personal tea server of a high ranking earth kingdom noble, but that he'd missed ba sing se so much he'd decided to come back.
"you can take the boy out of ba sing se," one of them chuckles, "-but you can't take the ba sing se out of the boy."
it's true, lee thinks. even if he goes back to being zuko, he'll likely be forever reshaped by his time as lee. it's... oddly comforting, in a way. the life he built for himself here would still mean something, even if he returned to being a fire nation prince. part of his heart will always stay with ba sing se.
it's shockingly easy to fall back into old routines.
he wakes up at dawn, makes himself breakfast, then gets dressed and braids his hair. he goes to work. jin visits on her lunch break. he works until the evening, chatting with the regulars and making small talk with the newer customers. he stops by the market on the way home and buys ingredients for dinner- then goes home and makes it. he goes to the bathhouse after dinner. sometimes he runs into jin. sometimes he doesn't.
his life is peaceful. it's happy.
...but he's suddenly aware that something is missing.
he goes to the library on his first day off. he spends the entire day reading up on the fire nation, devouring every piece of information he can find. he learns about the hundred year war. prince zuko is a mere footnote in it, but it's always jarring whenever he's brought up. he reads the few books on firebending he can find.
he spends a lot of time with jin.
spirits, he thinks. he really does love her. and if he goes back to being zuko, there's a good chance he'll have to give her up. at the same time, he wonders if this is even fair to jin. lee doesn't really exist, but... he could make him exist. if what katara says is true, he'll wake up one day and completely be lee. he'll be no different from anyone else.
(it's comforting and horrifying at the same time.)
jin keeps waiting for him to talk to her.
he keeps putting it off. because even if he chooses to stay as lee, she deserves to know the truth. and he could still very well lose her all the same. before he knows it, his month here is almost up, and he still hasn't told her anything. he can sense she's getting impatient. so on their next shared day off, he works up his courage.
he spoils her that day. they go and visit the zoo in the outer ring- the one avatar aang made himself, apparently. they eat lunch at a food stall in the lower ring, then sit and watch the local player's current production about avatar kyoshi and chin the conqueror. in the evening, they eat dinner at their favorite restaurant. they end the night at the firelight fountain.
it's wonderful. it's perfect.
"jin," he tells her, "-there's something I need to tell you."
it's an odd feeling, telling his nephew about himself.
but it is clear that the young man sitting across from iroh is not his nephew- as much as he might have zuko's face and body. even with the knowledge of his true self, he still treats him as a distant stranger- one that he must be deeply respectful of, but still a stranger. katara has kept him abreast of the situation, though he suspects there is something the young waterbender has been keeping to herself.
looking at lee, he suspects he can sense what it is.
he tells lee of zuko's agni kai.
he tells him what lead to it. lee looks surprised at zuko's outrage at the planned sacrifice of young soldiers. he is not sure he can blame him- he can only imagine what zuko's reputation is in the earth kingdom. to them he was only a banished prince, disloyal to his father and punished for it without knowing the exact reason why. he had chased the avatar with the intent of turning him over to his father, and then had helped conquer ba sing se.
iroh holds nothing back.
he tells lee of zuko. of how he let himself be redefined by his anger after the agni kai. but he also tells him that he helped the avatar escape pohuai stronghold, even if his reasons for doing so were less than pure. he tells them of their life as refugees. he tells them of zuko's choice under lake laogai, when he freed appa.
he tells him of how he chose to ally with his sister during the coup.
lee listens to him quietly- but it is like he is being told a story about another person. someone he's never met. when iroh is finished, lee exhales, as if he's been holding his breath all this time. it has been some time since iroh started speaking, but there is still steam rising from lee's cup.
"he wasn't happy," lee says, "-was he?"
"no," iroh admits, "-not for a long time. not since his mother disappeared."
lee cannot meet his eyes. he opens his mouth and shuts it, like there is something he wishes to say, but cannot manage. iroh sighs, and gives him his word as fire lord that whatever he wishes to say to him, he can say it without consequence. lee takes in a deep breath, and slowly lets it out.
"i don't know," he admits, "-if I want to go back."
and there it is, out in the open.
it would not be the first child iroh has lost to ba sing se. this is perhaps a kinder way to lose one. zuko would not be himself, but he could be happy there. they will have to deal with lan-wei and azula, but if that is the path he wishes to choose... then iroh will support it. he asks him only to think about it before he makes his choice.
deep down, he has wondered if a distant promise of happiness was what finally made zuko surrender.
"lady mai tells me this is the royal family's personal villa," lee says after a moment, "-but I don't know this place. I've never been here before, but there are portraits all over the place of someone who looks just like me. i can't get comfortable here."
"...I think I need to go home. to ba sing se."
"and if you go," iroh asks, "-will you be able to make up your mind?"
lee nods. iroh heaves a sigh. in truth, he does not want to let him go. but his nephew must make his own decisions. he is eighteen now. nearly an adult. the last time iroh tried to force him into seeing things his way, it did not end as he'd hoped. not for himself- nor for zuko.
"then go," iroh says, "-one way or another, you will find the answers you seek there."
#lee from the tea shop#lee: wait. *you* were the reason a horde of animals terrorized the lower ring?#aang: i will neither confirm nor deny this#sokka: no it was totally him#aang: in my defense. i was twelve years old at the time.

i could fix pmd darkrai
#bwark#my idea is:#after dark crater you hear reports about darkrai sightings and even though palkia said he'd lose his memory you're still concerned#so you seek him out and he has actually lost his memory#and you tell him about what he did and he's horrified#he begs you to let him join your team so he can try to do some good while also having a purpose after losing his memories#and you're unsure because of the whole suicide baiting thing#but then you remember what wigglytuff said about how truly bad pokemon don't exist. so you decide that first he must win the trust of#treasure town and then after that he could join the team#and that's a very rough idea of it but it could be a very small arc to really tie everything together for the end#and also there's a 6th special episode exploring why darkrai became evil. like he and cresselia had a bad divorce or something#idk just something to make him an actually interesting villain

"I can see dead people." He mentions with a shrug, using the chopsticks to fish more noodles into his mouth.
Dick stares at him. "Huh."
"Is that why you help?" He asks, getting more spring rolls.
"Yeah. Once someone becomes a ghost, word gets out quick, and they come to me. Always tatling about unfairness and justice." The kid waves the words around, rolling his eyes.

"Do you... like it? Doing all that?" Richard approaches thus carefully, brows furrowed at the kid opposite of him.

Dick stares. He places his chopsticks down and looks at Danny worried.
In turn, the kid sighs. "Sometimes gifts become curses the longer you have it."
And Dick understands.
Mind made up, he throws a pair of keys at the kid, watching fondly as the other catches them with confusion.

i remember when the bodysnatching happened and how hardly anyone else in the fandom (or what i saw of the fandom) seemed to find it as horrifying as i did. then the same thing happened again with the mind invasion. and yes the fact that the mind invasion happened at all and not even the story gave much of a fuck about the fact that it did is still one of biggest gripes with the finale
#bnha#i know it's a shonen but ... come on#here's a character who has already been violated in such a deeply horrifying manner - let's go violate him some more#because yes invading someone's mind when they clearly do not want you to do that so you can take a peek at their deepest trauma and pain#and most private innermost thoughts - regardless of your intentions or the outcome - is a VIOLATION#also doesn't help that. tomura kind of died from this. like. he did. that's what happened.#deku invaded shigaraki's mind forced inner child therapy on him and then shigaraki died from it#like! ok then!#i mean sure i probably had a stronger reaction to it than the average person bc this is some very specific brand of nightmare fuel for me#and it's a shonen it's not that deep etc etc but man was that really necesary with this character no less. lmao!#this is why i still and always & forever will detest the idea of deku going around and telling everyone about shigaraki's past/tenko#would be feeling differently about it had there been some degree of... consent? but shigaraki didn't get to have a say in the matter at all#he didn't even get to voice his opinion on izuku potentially making it all public - didn't even give izuku permission to talk about it#like yeah including a scene like that would have probably disrupted the flow/taken up panel space unnecessarily#doesn't mean it wouldn't have been important to include#ig tomura could've also not died then he would've been able to tell people about it by himself on his own terms by his own choice but yknow#so glad that izuku apparently did know better and just kept that shit to himself â€ïž#mine#not feeling all that#bnha critical#these days but this one still stirs something within me

I'm causally interested in basically all Fallout ship combinations, but I really need Walton Goggins/evil wife. plz make this good for me, show.
#something about how he plays this very classically masculine cowboy#and he's a hollywood superstar and clearly a catch in universe#but you know. walton goggins. extremely hot through force of personality#and she's this very feminine and conventionally beautiful woman#but also he's her arm candy. she's his bad billionaire boyfriend who lies to him so he doesn't worry his pretty little head about#the mass murder she's plotting#all of which is fun and kind of sexy but what really makes it for me is that he loves and trusts her SO much like he really believes in he#he's so on board for anything she wants to do#he lends her his image his good name his fame#and she uses it to the most horrifying ends imaginable! and she clearly loves him she loves their family. maybe she's even telling the trut#when she says she's doing it for their daughter#the sexy sexy BETRAYAL#the gut punch. did she try to kidnap him along with her daughter to put him in a vault i must know.

i cannot stand the aot fandom this is not a new take at all they are universally intolerable but oh my dayssss u are FORBIDDEN from making ANY take about the show it's actually insane to watch. 'aot is perfect' no show is perfect. 'tell me you didnt get the show đđ«”' people have different opinions/interpretations about things. 'eren is a good guy they could never make me hate him' i think there's actually 4 seasons and two movies explicitely using him as a tool to show that no one is 'good' or 'evil' they are only trying to survive. hello. the fandom r all so far up aot's ass that they actually discredit its writing in the process and it would be laughable if it wasn't so frustrating
#bc aot IS insanely well written but no one talks about it???#like all they do is SAY how well written it is but no one is brave enough to give examples or meta bc SOMEONE will jump on it#declaring they've misinterpreted the Single Correct Way of watching the show and are dumb and a hater for saying such a thing#i remember posting about my initial aot watch on here and i did NOT like eren i thought he was whiney and annoying (he is <3)#and i thought aot was overhyped but ive since finished it at long last and omg. it is so fucking good#one of those shows that you need to watch ALL of it to truly get what's going on#and the conclusion of eren's character i am genuinely so obsessed with ill probs make a separate post just about him#bc i have really 180'd on eren and i can see now he IS well written. but not for any reason i can see anyone else talking about???#people are just banging on about he was right and justified and a saviour and tragic etc etc and while those things are important#and should be considered that also like. was not the point imo#the irony and tragedy of eren jaeger was that after all the 'i am special simply bc i was born into this world'#concluded with the revelation that actually he was not special. the rumbling happened because a normal boy got a hold of a great power#and he mishandled it. he was immature. he acted his age. he was just some teenage boy and he responded in kind#there was selfishness and silly whims and a quick temper. he was never this godlike figure he gets painted as#and i ADORE THAT TAKE. THAT IS SUCH AN ICE COLD CONCLUSION. EREN WAS NEVER SPECIAL - THAT'S THE POINT#and like countless times through history one selfish person with their hands on an insane amount of power and a conviction#that they are doing the right thing goes on to lead to a continuation of the cycle of war#like the end credits with the tree is genuinely HAUNTING. it never ended. eren KNEW the rumbling would be unnsuccessful#and would leave enough of their enemies alive that they'd eventually retaliate HE KNEW THAT and did it anyway#why? bc he just /wanted/ it. desperately and immaturely. and so the war turned over for another generation and another and#LIKE THAT IS SUCH A POIGNANT HAUNTING TAKE. I FR STARED AT THE BLACK SCREEN ONCE I FINISHED IT FOR 5 MINS IN HORRIFIED SILENCE#yes it's not his sole motivation but ultimately the crux of his character boils down to the fact he's just some kid#to the point even when he's explaining it to armin at the very end they SHOW HIM AS A KID. THAT IS THE REAL EREN#THAT ANGRY SCRAPPY CHILD WHO THOUGHT HE COULD BEAT THE WORLD INTO SUBMISSION#NOT A HERO NOT A GOD NOT A DEVIL - JUST A KID GIVEN A POWER HE NEVER SHOULD HAVE GOT HIS HANDS ON#but if u say all that some chucklefuck tells u to kys and that u just Didnt Get The Masterpiece Of Attack On Titan#but do u know what? maybe people disagree w me! maybe this is just my interpretation! guess who's NOT gonna have a hissy fit about it?#fandom is about DISCUSSION and i have never seen a fandom as fucking allergic to it than the aot fandom#like omdddddddddd have a day off man isayama isnt gonna suck you off#aot

What if Hua Cheng had memorialized the temple?
I donât think he did, canonically. I imagine that was a memory he wasnât keen to linger on, especially not to such an extent as to record it, to hover over the details in his mind and commit it to physical imagery. But I could see where he might - maybe catharsis, so that night can exist somewhere outside of his head. Maybe twisting, spiteful justice, so the world wonât be allowed to forget what it did to his god. Maybe just desperation, to record every shard of Xie Lian that he has in an effort not to lose a single piece while he searches.
It wouldnât be graphic; I think it would be something more stylized, more symbolic. Xie Lian is tied to his own altar. He has replaced the divine statue that should be there instead, the god made present the way he was for Hua Cheng once, the way he was for all of his people once. He is surrounded by blades, but they arenât piercing him yet. Hua Cheng canât do that to him even in paint. Bai Wuxiang is not featured, because Hua Cheng would not force any version of Xie Lian into that monsterâs presence, but there is a ghost fire hovering near. There is a small, crushed flower on the ground at the foot of the altar, like it was dropped from the Flower Crowned Princeâs hand moments before. The entire tableau holds its breath in the anticipation of something horrific.
Itâs painted in a shadowed corner, with a cloth hung in front of it. Not out of shame, or even because of Hua Chengâs own trauma - out of respect for the princeâs privacy, unwillingness to make a moment of such incredible, painful vulnerability a spectacle to anyone else without the princeâs say-so.
That doesnât stop Mu Qing from finding it.
Mu Qing, who was already horrified, Mu Qing, who was looking for Xie Lian to drag him out of the caves immediately because heâd seen a statue that suggested things he would rather not think about in regards to his former prince⊠Mu Qing brushes the curtain aside in that tucked-away corner and stops.
A hundred blades are pointed at His Highness. A hundred faces leer and sob and stare. And Xie Lian sits at the center of it all, head lowered, waiting for the slaughter.
Is it so unreasonable that Mu Qing takes it for a threat? Is it so unreasonable of Mu Qing to drag Feng Xin to what heâs found, for the both of them to slip an arm around each of the princeâs own and pull him away from wherever that altar is somewhere in the complicated network of twisted, obscene worship? That thing painted on the wall - it canât have ever happened. They would know. Mu Qing and Feng Xin, who spent every day of their early lives with the prince, beside the prince, trailing along behind the prince⊠they would know. They would have been there; they would have prevented it. This is the fantasy of a ghost king who laid ruin to thirty-three heavenly officials and found his thirst still unslaked.
(Mu Qing does not consider the eight hundred years of Xie Lianâs life he knows nothing about. Feng Xin does not consider the eight hundred years of Xie Lianâs life he knows nothing about. Itâs a habit theyâve grown skilled at, over eight hundred years.)
They donât explain to Xie Lian, so Xie Lian has no opportunity to explain to them what they saw. And Mu Qing isnât wrong, when he concludes that Xie Lian has been stalked and watched and hunted since he was seventeen. He isnât wrong. He just doesnât know, yet, what direction the threat is coming from. Thereâs no time for anyone to tell him, or Feng Xin, who tied the restraints and provided the sword.
Theyâll find out. Masks are made to be removed.
#heaven official's blessing#tgcf#hua cheng#xie lian#mu qing#feng xin#couldn't decide if this should be a text post or a ficlet so it kinda became both#anyway i definitely don't see this as canon#but i am consumed with the idea of WHAT IF#like i am already fascinated by any and all versions of mu qing and feng xin finding out about the temple#and like. what if there was no context. what if they assumed the threat was an ongoing thing.#(it is)#it just... also fascinates me that YEAH - mu qing cottoned on to the fact that xie lian had someone who was unhealthily fascinated with him#but. BUT.#He Did Not Know#and that is to me more horrifying because of who it actually turned out to be#anyway#all of this to say that i am so interested in situations where xie lian's pain is revealed and also the horror#of seeing it as something that might still happen and not even knowing that this is a horror that has already happened#the horror of finding out that you were far too late to prevent it and you never even KNEW#the horror of finally knowing the shape of that formless guilt you felt#i have feelings about it can you tell :P#this will probably not be the last time i explore this space

two silly thoughts from me still thinking too much about UA teaching logistics:
1. I think given all might's time limit at the beginning of the series, they really can't have given him a homeroom class to look after - but I do think it would be very funny if nedzu did it anyway. yeah I know you're just here for OFA purposes and that you can only be in hero form for like 3 hours per day, but you do have to spend like 15 minutes of that looking after 20 random wide-eyed business course kids. no slackers allowed
2. each year presumably has the same class structure as what we see for class a's year - 2 hero classes and 1 of each of the others - [ETA: oops no they don't, it's apparently 2 hero classes and THREE of each of the others??? consider this now a non-canon-compliant joke:] but it seems at least vaguely plausible that the additional hero class is a more recent addition brought on either by hero commission pressure to churn out more heroes per year, or - funnier option - as a counterbalance for the fact that aizawa is expelling like 50% of the hero course anyway, so you have to start out with a bigger pool
#bnha posting#some random UA staff member looking at nedzu's plan to basically double the amount of resources needed to run the hero course:#um sir couldn't you just. tell eraserhead to stop doing that?#nedzu for whom aizawa's chaotic energy is his favourite spectator sport: no <3#i also think it would be funny if nedzu just kept giving all might so so many little admin tasks and additional roles#like he's supervising student book clubs now. he has to draw up the rota for cleaning the faculty lounge#and all might is like is. is he trying to get me to slow down and have injury recovery time?? did i do something to make him mad??#what?? is going on??#true motive could be any combo of these but also i just think it'd be funny to know you could make the number 1 hero & symbol of peace#have to coordinate timesheets for the science lab#man if you think for too long about anything in this show it either gets kind of horrifying or really really funny#UA is both but the 2nd one's really getting me lately

Also @ my it takes Sharena to break free from the "Gustav was a good man/Father" Askr family unreliable narrator hivemind. That the Main Reason she can't/doesn't is because it's the One Thing that's protecting her. That's stopping her from having a catastrophic world/life fucking breakdown about it. Heavily influenced by her brother and mother's feelings about it.
There's something else, I think Sharena is specifically protecting herself from too. She was Triandra's sister, too.
#feh#IT ALWAYS COMES BACK TO TRIANDRA. FOR ME. FOR SOME REASON.#ALSO. ALSO. when it comes to 'comparing' what 'is/isn't' abuse. something logically ik you can't/shouldn't do#but like. tri/peony's father's ye olde fairytale villain levels of abuse vs gustav's abuse. which is.#so so. like. like i feel like i could meet someone and they could tell me yeah my dad was [insert every gustav trait here]#like. that's not to say the level of abuse tri/peony endured is impossible or realistic. like. it's just a rarer more horrifying case#that reads like an evil stepparent story ala cinderella.#like sliding scale/ends of a spectrum we have gustav (bad dad you can find anywhere dime a dozen)#to triandra's dad (cinderella stepmom levels of abuse but not entirely out of the realm of reality unfortunately just a rare case)#to sombron (literally actual cartoon levels of evil. which also isn't to dismiss anything but like.#he had a bunch of kids and then forced them to kill each other. and then did whatever he did to veyle. who was Lucky#she was too young to participate in the sibling battle royale to the death brawl.)#idk idk. it's like#back when i used to exist i had friends/peers who would talk about their family situations and#it was like. a frame of reference. that's horrible and outright abusive and i'm so sorry you have to go through that.#meanwhile. my own situation. i always describe it as 'stupid and complicated'.#idk idk. i just think sharena's feelings about gustav are more Loadbearing. than anything else.#and she's also like. she loves her brother so much. looks up to him and is inclined to trust/agree w whatever he says#like sharena obvs still has her own feelings/thoughts. but like. alfonse is also just so important to her.#and then there's henriette. who sharena does actively strive to be like. ect ect#idk idk. this is something other than breadcrumbs intsys gives me moldy bread cuts off the mold and tells me#it's safe to eat and that the mold was never there actually. but i remember. i remember the mold.#sharena#fe triandra

i think it's really funny how people just go on the internet and tell lies
#this post is about nightheart#i went into every book following river horrified that theyd ruin him#but man im just#not#seeing it#at all#nightheart is a misogynist? nope! thats the writers#nightheart doesnt respect sunbeam's boundaries? wrong! nightheart has done nothing but respect her boundaries#nightheart undermines frostpaw's problems by comparing them to his? wrong! hes empathizing with her#its to the point im wondering if im reading the same book as you all. how did you get this impression of this dude.#i think the last one in particular stems from nightheart's conflicts not being taken seriously. yes#its dumb#this was never a prior issue for any of firestar's kin#but it is happening#and that shit is so damaging let me tell you#and also#calling him a misogynist is just gross im gonna be so fr#the AUTHORS are misogynistic. we know this. this is not our first rodeo.#that fact just seems to be projected on to nightheart instead of pointing the finger at the erins#it is misogynistic that these characters are being conveyed the way they are. but the fact remains is that its whats on the page#and nightheart has every damn right to be upset about it#AORRY I AM LIKE. PASSIONATE. ABOUT THIS. i like nightheart a lot and see myself in him#i dont think its bad if people dislike him#but a lot of the reasons ive seen arent even valid reasons because they arent accurate representations of his character#tldr; stop blaming the authors' shitty writing decisions on nightheart pleaseee đ#nightheart#warrior cats#i would not blame anyone if u said i aint rwading allat tbh this was not meant to get so out of hand

The last time Valentino Rossi had raced in Sepang, was in 2019. He didn't know it'd be the last time. In 2020 and 2021 it wasn't on the calender due to COVID. He had the fastest lap and missed out on a podium with taking 4th place.
Too much explanation in the tags, sorry
#motogp#valentino rossi#vr46 academy#marco simoncelli#I can't imagine sepang isn't a weird but somehow special circuit#It's horrifying what happened to Sic but do you think he feels somehow connected to him?#Like that's the place he last saw#He woke up in that hotel for the last time#He walked those streets for the last time#That was the sun he saw for the last time#The last thing he did was preparing for the Malaysia GP and maybe Vale felt closer to him when he did the same#Of course it must be terrible especially in the first years but...#I don't know it's just a thought#And then he raced for the last time in Sepang and didn't even know it#Like Sic#Like now all I can is imagining Vale and Sic passing through the security gates chitchatting maybe talking about the race or Luca and Franky#Sic knew Franky. Vale Sic and Franky had the same trainer that how they met and Franco and Luca already knew each other#Obviously Sic knew Luca#Imagine Sic asking Vale about them while they enter the paddock on race day#And then years later Vale still talks to him about the boys#He tells them how well Franky had adapted to motogp and Pecco too how the others are driving him insane with worry in moto3/2#And he thinks about that when he enters the paddock in 2019#And he doesn't know it'll be the last time he does#THAT IS CURRENTLY BREAKING MY HEART
