for your recent ask on how to build relationships in movies where you used willabeth as an example i was just thinking of them as i read ur post lmao! what do u think are some underrated aspects of their relationship in the films ? and if you had to pick a favorite film of the potc trilogy based on just willabeth, which would you pick?
Oh, yay! A Willabeth ask!
AWE automatically wins on "At Wit's End" (aka "Will and Elizabeth's love theme") alone. That is the soundtrack to a cosmic, epic, transcendental, soul-moving, earth-shattering love story, that is the epitome of a romantic composition, it is everything. Like just listen.
But I mean, the scenes that they have in this movie?
I'm not sure that there's anything that shippers find underrated about them, it would just be in response to Sparrabeth shippers or people who are anti-Willabeth, which I just don't find merits a response but something I do quite enjoy about the Willabeth love story is the role Jack plays in it and how his respective bonds with Will and Elizabeth actually reinforce that love story:
Like, Jack helps Will come to terms with his parentage and history
and therefore who he is and Will, in turn, saves Jack from the gallows.
Elizabeth has faith in Jack, tells him he’s a good man, helps him see the morality of situations
and Jack does prove her right in Dead Man’s Chest by coming back to help the crew but I think the most significant way he proves her right is by going against a desire he wanted for all of At World’s End so he can do right by Will (and it actually goes further than his desire throughout At World’s End but to a fundamental passion like he sold his soul to Davy Jones to get the Pearl, that’s how much he loves the sea)
and then you had Jack speaking to Elizabeth’s desire for freedom
and encourages her obtainment of that freedom, of that agency, of that power
which ultimately leads back to her choosing to love and be with Will
which, despite what antis say, isn't a regression. The trilogy begins with seeing her discomfort in "polite society" and feeling pressured into doing what's expected i.e. an engagement to Norrington
which includes hiding her fascination with pirates as well as her feelings for Will
the two things are interconnected. In fact, when we see her being chastised for not behaving the way she should, it's when she's too intimate with Will
Her interest in pirates is signified with her keeping Will's medallion
her choosing Will is also her choosing her own freedom
Will even teaches her how to fight
and throughout the trilogy, it's them discovering more facets of themselves i.e. Will reunites with his father, Elizabeth actually gets to be a pirate but what even got them on those journeys was trying to find/help the other so they can be together
and those layers just bring them back together stronger. This has always been the point
This also isn't exactly underrated but I find when I go into the tag, there's a lot of emphasis on what Will does for Elizabeth, how he supports her, how in love with her he is, how devoted to her he is and I completely understand why but also Elizabeth's devotion to Will deserves a spotlight as well.
Going to fight undead pirates alone to save Will
Being both surprised and upset at Will even considering that she could be in love with Jack
Giving away the entire plan because she couldn't feign disinterest when Sao Feng acted as though he'd stab Will
Having to literally be carried away by Jack when Will was stabbed
Even the smaller, in between things like Will shouting at Elizabeth to shoot at the barrels of rum but her refusing because he was still caught in the net.
I just love them so much.

I still haven't seen Interstellar - would you like the chance to (maybe spoiler-free though it's been out so long I probably have seen/don't necessarily care about spoilers) ramble about it?
OH HO HO HO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS ASK MY FRIEND okay time to be as abnormal about this movie as possible (without spoilers, don't worry!)
It's a movie about cool space adventures. It's also a movie about love (mainly platonic). And it makes me very emotional
The main character is played by Matthew McConaghey, and who doesn't love to see a Texan dad in space?
There is POETRY
Listen. This is a movie by Christopher Nolan. He's a genius, and is absolutely famous for movies that are absolutely insane. The science and mechanics of it all are mind boggling but incredibly awesome, and you'll be thinking about it for days. FOR. DAYS. (literally I still think about his movie Tenet so often)
Also the music is by the myth, the legend himself, Hans kriffing Zimmer. The guy who did the soundtrack for the Lion King, and wrote the main theme for Pirates of the Caribbean, and about half a dozen other things. The level to which I am OBSESSED with this soundtrack? Insane
There is a sassy robot. I love him
There's a book about the science behind it that's actually pretty dang neat though I'm not smart enough to understand it
Timmy Chardonay (aka Timothee Chalamet) is in it. And so is freaking Michael Caine who we love and appreciate
Somehow it's both deeply science-y and deeply emotion based at the same time. There are just such incredibly beautiful scenes, okay? They carry this deep weight that just grows even better with every rewatch and I love it so so much
This is actually the first movie that ever made me cry
Overall it's such a masterpiece. So full of beautiful imagery and scenes. It has such good cinematography and music and character relationships? And dialogue?? And the MESSAGE????? It has a little language but overall it's super clean and you can watch it again and again and still get something new, or still enjoy it and just--AUGH PLEASE WATCH IT WE CAN GO INSANE TOGETHER BUT NO PRESSURE IF IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE YOUR STYLE
#thanks for the ask!!#no really. thank you so much it made my night#oh also seneca crane from the hunger games is in it! and a bunch of other good actors#interstellar#interstellar 2014

Hi! Could you make a kanae x reader smut where reader rides him? I think that would be pretty interesting.
Support Class
Kanae x GN! reader
Requested by: Anon
Proofread: NA
Genre: Smut (PORN WITH PLOT?)
Music: Pirates of the Caribbean Ride Soundtrack
Warnings: Dom Kanae, sub reader, fluff to smut, riding, hair pulling, Ibrahim is streaming but Kanae leaves before things get wild, asshole Kanae (mainly with dirty talk?), slight yandere Kanae? (he's just in love with you), slight yandere reader?
Summary: You try your best to support your boyfriend. Even if that support means riding him while he games.
Author's note: Comes back from the dead to write this teasing little Kanae fic~
-Mod Kenma
Kanae is a lot of things. A sneaky bastard was quickly rising to the top of your list. He wasn't streaming but was on Ibrahim's stream, playing APEX of course. It wasn't just the two of them, Kuzuha and Abio were there as well. You never really bothered Kanae during these times, knowing it was his job and honestly preferring to give your support behind the scenes.
So when Kanae muted and called you over, you knew something was up. "I really need your support~" He whined, turning to you and doing grabby hands. You looked up from the book you were reading and sighed. "What do you need?" You asked, putting the book down. Kanae motioned for you to go to him, so you did. He pulled you onto his lap with ease.
With his face inches away from yours, he whispered a quiet "Wanna have you near me". Before grabbing your hips and pulling you closer. His lips pressed against yours gently before he returned to the stream. You rested your head against Kanae's shoulder. He was always clingy at the worst times and it was embarrassing.
You listened to the voices of his friends through his headphones. You liked his friends. Kuzuha, while awkward and stilted at times, was hilarious and incredibly thoughtful. Ibrahim was fun to talk to and the conversation never seemed to die out between the two of you. And Ebio was one of the sweetest people you ever had the pleasure of meeting.
The last thing you remember before falling asleep was Kuzuha's muffled voice whining about Ebio taking something the vampire wanted. Your eyelid drooped and your hands lazily wrapped around Kanae's neck. You pushed yourself closer to him, chest to chest. Your heartbeat became a soothing feeling to Kanae. He loved the feeling of you pressed against him.
Feeling every breath you take felt like it was breathing life into him. The brunette would occasionally look down at you, moving hair out of your face or moving you into a more comfortable position. He felt himself jump when your sex pressed against his. Kanae wasn't expecting heat to pool at the bottom of his stomach just by slightly shifting your weight. How was he supposed to pay attention to the game when his cock was semi-hard.
Kanae moved you yet again. This time, it woke you up. Kanae muted before you could let out a tiny whine, moving your hips. The brunette hissed and grabbed your hips, stopping you from moving. When you became aware of your surroundings, you felt Kanae's hard-on. You kept your mouth shut, not knowing if Kanae was muted or not.
In your sleepy daze, you wanted nothing more than to sit on your lovely boyfriend's cock and lazily bounce on it. The brunette gently shushed you as you continued to move. "I know honey I know. How about waiting till the end of this round then you can sit on my dick for as long as you want, okay?" You nodded and let your head fall back onto his shoulder.
You buried your face into his neck, drinking in his scent. It was addicting. He was addicting. It was impossibly hard not to roll your hips and beg till you got your way. The warmth of his body against yours was driving you mad. You focused on his heartbeat, slowly counting the beats, as if they were minutes passing by.
Soon enough, Kanae said his final words before leaving the stream and exiting the game. You were still drowsy, falling in and out of sleep. What brought you back to reality was an aggressive rut against your sex. You whined in shock and grabbed Kanae's shoulder.
Your boyfriend chuckled at this, finding your reaction adorable. YOu bit your lip. "Kanae~" You muttered. You truly needed him. If you didn't have him now, you were probably going to cry. He shushed you gently, pulling his sweatpants down, freeing his cock. He also pulled your shorts off, along with your underwear.
"You can ride me for as long as you want, sweetheart," Kanae murmured, his hot breath tickling your ear. Your back arched as you nodded, desperately needing him. A pornographic moan left your lips as you sat down on his cock. He filled you up in a way you know nobody else could. Kanae's dick reached all the right places without him even trying.
You lazily bounced on his cock, already drunk on how he felt. You mewed in his ear, whining about how only he can make you feel good. All Kanae did was laugh and grope your ass, helping you move up and down. He enjoyed watching you unravel on his dick, his eyes staring at how borderline pathetic your face looked.
"Don't stop." He murmured, tugging on your hair. "I don't want you to stop till you pass out from how good you feel." You nodded, ready for whatever the rest of the night brought to you.

Some of you asked, and you shall receive! My playlist for writing/for Spider and the Tonowari Fam! Be warned, quite a lot of these are film music or classical stuff. Because I can't write whilst listening to lyrics because it's distracting. Otherwise, I'd be listening to Kpop as I write!
First, our little boy, my #1 blorbo, my hunny bun sugar plum; Spider! His main theme? Here I Am from Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron! An oldie, to be sure, but still a goodie to my ears. The lyrics just link so well to his character, and how Pandora is his home and he fought to keep it that way. You know? Ooo and a classical theme for him: Alone in the World from the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack. Just listen to it please? It's beautiful, and so playful, yet connotates so much and Alexandre Desplat is a fecking genuis.
Secondly, our badass mum of the year; Ronal. The beauty, the goddess. For our brilliant woman, a classical piece: Mars from Gustav Holtz's The Planets. Specifically the 1984 recording with the Berlin Philharmonic and Herbert von Karajan. Why? Because it sounds like how I think Ronal's feelings work. You see the anger, and the passion on the horizon, but it's not quite ready to strike. Until it does in an impressive crescendo that's sure to give you the shivers!
Thirdly, Tsireya. Kind, gorgeous Tsireya who's smile has my heart (and most definitely Lo'ak's). I couldn't quite figure out what to give her as a theme, but then I figured it out. The piece The Tulkuns Return from the Way of Water soundtrack. It just feels like a musical description of her aura, in a way? I can't really describe it but there you go.
Aonung was tricky to think of, because he's a big brother, but also playful and knows how to work Spider out of his shell. But then I figured it out: Forbidden Friendship from How to Train Your Dragon. Powell, you brilliant bastard you, kicking me right in the feels. Specifically, I feel this piece perfectly showcases how Aonung and Spider's relationship has grown from something tiny into a thing that is awe inspiring, beautiful, and nearly larger than life.
Lastly, best dad Tonowari. I needed something stately, nearly grand, epic in proportions, because he's a strong leader, but also a good father. So, what better than The Legend of Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke. Strange choice, yes, but the way it builds into the grand motif, but still has the quiet moments towards the end just-- ah, Hisaishi you do it every time.
In terms of general stuff? I listened to Mermaids from Pirates on the Caribbean On Stranger Tides for the palulukan chase in chapter one because of the tension build up. But otherwise, I just shuffle my classical/games/film playlist and hop to it (which I will link but I doubt people will want to listen to it. And warning, it is quite long).
Anyway! Ta ta for now! The chapter is at like 7k at the moment and I've not done the last (and biggest) scene so look forward to that tomorrow my lovelies <33

Get to Know Me Tag Game
Thank you for the tag, @moonlightandstarshimmer! It's been forever since I've done a tag game, and this one looked so fun :)
1) Spell your name in songs
"Judy Moonlight" by Faron North
"Africa" by Toto
"Newgrange (Brù Na Bòinne)" by The Wolfe Tones
"Everywhere" by Fleetwood Mac
2) Why did you choose your URL?
My URL is a mesh of two nicknames I had in high school, which I went into more detail about here :)
3) What is your middle name?
My middle name starts with a C and is actually a fusion of my Grandpa (dad's side) and Grandmother's (mom's side) names, which I think is the coolest thing ever!
4) If you could be any mythical creature, what would you be?
100% I would be a mermaid, as I've been obsessed with them all my life. Sirens and selkies are also very cool, though!
5) Favorite color?
Blue is my favorite color, ranging from pale blues to royal blues. However, I also love browns, creams, and dark reds as well!
6) Song you love right now?
I recently watched "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" (absolutely loved it) and have been listening to "Wish That You Were Here" by Florence + the Machine because it's giving me a lot of feels. I also have been listening to the "1917" soundtrack relentlessly, along with Roy Clark's swoon-worthy "Come Live with Me."
7) Top four fandoms?
Star Wars / The Mandalorian
Greek mythology (is that a fandom?)
Pirates of the Caribbean (not very involved in the fandom, but I just adore the series)
Harry Potter (haven't been involved for years, but I got in enough obsessing for 10+ years for it to still count)
8) Tag five people
Y'all do not have to do the challenge, but if you (or anyone else who sees this) would like to, please do :)
@valiantarcher
@amiablesummer
@effulgentpoet
@ladyrock18
@lemaldusiecle

For "anonymously message me (3) things you want to know about me":
What's your favourite soundtrack?
2. What's the most difficult, most rewarding and weirdest part about being a teacher?
3. Do you ever write little asides/scenes that you would love to be in your fic but can't put them in as they don't vibe with your characterisation/storyline? I absolutely adore your writing and I am all for staying in character but sometimes I need some cathartic fluff to cancel out all the agnst! Your Another Life one-shots are so good. I would LIVE/DIE to see Snape being super open and emotional about Lily with Ariel but I'll just have to live in hope that he gets to that place in A&I!
Hope you're having a lovely summer! <3
To a movie? I literally love everyone by Hans Zimmer but it probably has to be all of the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks. I listen to that shit all the time, makes for EXCELLENT battle music while keeping it light.
2. Most difficult is the relationship with other adults, whether that be parents or colleagues. I had a really bad year with a colleague who is the product of never being told "no" as a child, so she is the literal worst. Most rewarding is seeing the growth the kids make in a year. The end of the year culmination always makes me look forward to seeing what they can do the following year and knowing I'm sending up good quality and quantity to the middle school. Weirdest is how much extra stuff there is, apart from the actual content preparation and teaching. Like, this year, I became the therapist for this group of 6th grade girls who were having friend drama. Every day they came to me to ask me what to do and I would literally talk through my lunch period about how to communicate in a kind way that resolved the problem. And when I say weird, I mean weird as in, these kids trust me and that's nice, but it jut adds this whole other layer on that idk, they don't teach you how to respond when a kid comes to you and says their best friend is fat-shaming them - and they're like, 12.
3. I have SO MANY. Most of it is recycled into the "another life" folder but that one is full of so much stuff that has yet to be finished. Unfortunately, right now, a lot of is has some angst (lol). Someone asked me to write the fateful Halloween on '81 with Snape, Lily, and Ariel and that's been - FUN - but it has some fluff prior to it. And then I'm working on the splintering, which has become huge and mentally draining, it scares me at times which is good! but holy shit.
I think I'm still trying to figure out what Snape would be, if he'd been given the chance to be with Lily and Ariel. Happier, definitely, but writing him not being a complete asshole is tricky sometimes. I have a whole bunch of oneshot requests saved up so I'm here for it too!

Shadow and Bone' Season 2 Soundtrack Reveals First Single "Come Sail Away"
Did you see?
(Book Spoilers!)
I did, I gave it a listen too and maybe its just me but parts of it reminded me so much of He's a Pirate (the Pirates of the Caribbean theme). I mean listen to the first like 16 secs of Come Sail Away and then the opening chords of He's a Pirate and tell me they don't sound similar. The music for shadow and bone has always been really good and this single they released is no exception. I definitely feel like its got something to do with Nikolai our swashbuckling privateer prince. My theory is this will play either when Nikolai first makes an appearance on his ship, when Alina and Mal are sailing with Nikolai for the first time searching for the sea whip or it could be when the airship takes off for the first time, kind of a play on this idea of sailing away as they are in a boat but one that sails the clouds instead of the sea. They also released the titles for the full soundtrack and it has some interesting names in there for sure:
Some of these are pretty straightforward Tolya and Tamar and Wylan are obviously the character theme songs and will likely play when we first see them or whenever they have a particularly big scene. Mattias Fights again is pretty obvious it'll be from the clip we saw in the trailer where it looks like Mattias is being forced into cage fights and Nina goes to see him.
Some of these titles definitely caught my eye though. The one titled Become The Blade I do think is in relation to Mal and that tattoo he gets so maybe we are going to see him get his tattoo this season. I do wonder though if they are going to change the wording of the tattoo to 'Become the Blade' as opposed to 'I am become a Blade'. I know alot of readers complained about the tattoo not being grammatically correct, I myself think its a bit of a mouthful and I always have to read it a few times to get the wording straight, it doesn't exactly roll smoothly off the tongue. I wonder if they might simplify it in the show to make it a bit more audience friendly?
Another two that I am excited by is Jesper's Past and Shu Han. I would love to learn more about both of these subjects. I didn't read the six of crows books so I don't know, well anything really, about those character's pasts so I am really looking forward to learning more about them. I've also always been interested in learning more about the other cultures in the grishaverse. We learnt a bit about Fjerda through Mattias so it will be interesting to learn more about Shu Han especially as our main character is part Shu Han.
Stronger Than An Emerald is yet another interesting one that I am sure has to do with Nikolai and maybe to do with his relationship with Alina. In the books his mother gives him the Lantsov Emerald which he then uses to propose to Alina with (this is mostly a political engagement). The Emerald comes into play again later after the darkling turns Nikolai into a winged beast using merzost, Nikolai manages to retain some of his mind and uses the emerald to show Alina he does still recognise her. I wouldn't be surprised if we see this play out in the show and Stronger Than An Emerald is played over the scene where Nikolai shows he still recognises Alina.
The last two that caught my attention is Let Me Be Your Monster and Hope For The Future. The latter one is actually one we had in season 1 and its what I refer to as the darklina theme as it plays during their first kiss scene, it also happens to be one of my favourite songs on season 1's soundtrack, its just so beautiful. It does make me wonder if there is going to be some big emotional moment between Alina and Aleks at some point during the season, maybe in one of their mind palace scenes? I just really hope its not that scene from the end of the third book, because I could not handle that, thanks but no thanks. As for Let Me Be Your Monster I again think this will be darklina related, it reminds me of three things for some reason, the first is Aleks' 'Fine make me your villain' line, 'Let me be your monster' just gives me very similar vibes. It also reminds me of one of the tether bond scenes, I think its in the third book but I am not 100% sure, where Aleks is kissing Alina's neck and says something like 'Let me... It isn't real, let me'. Its actually a surprisingly tender and vulnerable moment between them. The last thing it reminds me of is a couple of scenes from the books that have similar vibes, one is from the chapel scene in book 2 where Alina describes the darkling as being her monster too:
There was darkness inside me. He had put it there, and I would no longer deny it. The volcra, the nichevo’ya, they were my monsters, all of them. And he was my monster, too.
But there is also a scene in Ruin and Rising, again in the tether bond where the darkling is trying to convince Alina to be his queen and they have this exchange:
“You might make me a better man.” “And you might make me a monster.”
If I was going to guess I do think Let Me Be Your Monster might play during one of those tether/ mind palace scenes. Or it'll be from the chapel scene.
I am looking forward to the release of the soundtrack because as I said the season 1 soundtrack was so good so I am expecting good things from the season 2 soundtrack.

List 5 things that make you happy, then put this in the askbox for the last ten people however many you want who reblogged something from you! Get to know your mutuals & followers!! <3
wait this is so cute🥺😭 ok here we go
1. sunshine. i know this will sound silly and cheesy but it generally does brighten my day (get it hehe). natural light streaming through a window and making a whole room glow; light bending through trees and through glass and through clouds to make a form of shining art; a sky all lit up and so warm that i can’t help but turn my face up to it, close my eyes, smile, and bask. also honorable mention for sunshine and wind combo, such as riding in a car with the windows down, or riding on a boat and having your hair tussled so nicely but equally so restlessly by the wind streaming past
2. a good book. which can vary and range across all genres, styles, and lengths. being so engrossed in a story that i can’t help but giggle at the pages and eagerly turn them over as quickly as i can (i just finished persuasion by jane austen and i’m just about to finish the price of freedom by a.c. crispin — note the differences in genres, styles, and lengths haha — and they both had me so hooked i was smiling throughout their entireties and was just overall *happy* to be reading and even just *being*)
3. pirates of the caribbean. i had to say it. i *had* to. because it’s honestly so true. i was really, truly raised on these films and they’ve inspired so much of who i am as a person. my interest in complex characters, complex stories, and all that goes into making such stories stems from this trilogy *cough cough*. my sense of home and peace near water surely stems from the freedom and the love of the sea that came across so clearly for so many of the characters. so yeah. it also just makes me feel good whenever i watch the movies, or listen to the soundtrack albums, or read the books, and so on and so on. also norrington duh<3
4. boots. crazy, i know, but a good boot can really make my day. i just feel so at home (?) and so much more comfortable in that type of footwear. leaning more towards my combat boots, doc martens, but i do still have a joy for my ankle boots, cowboy boots, etc. like that style is when i’m most me? and that makes me happy
5. i think i have to say my family. pets included of course. i’m rewatching my big fat greek wedding at the moment so it’s just making me nostalgic for large family gatherings and the assortment of personalities that come together, but also of the love that is so freely shared. and i know i’m so lucky to even be able to say this all of this. so anyway, yeah, family, no matter what size or shape or quantity they may come in
(this was honestly such a good exercise of feeling present and feeling gracious so thank you🥰)

Hey there. This is a master post to this whole disaster. Is updating.
There is a fanfiction master post, where I keep track of all the fanfiction I published.
Let me finally do the introductions. My name is Tasha (she/her).
My socials (there's currently one):
Archive of Our Own (AllianettemiE5)
I have sideblogs!
@privaterecording1memes — Private Recording 1 memes blog @umbertail-falcon — Reblogging whatever I find out there @pr1-appreciation-month-2023 @batman-on-budget — Genshin Impact related stuff. Possible fanfiction in the future. @when-vigilantes-get-twitter — Defenders (mostly) incorrect tweets @darthsnail (WIP) — for Star Wars content.
What am I doing here? There's a button to read more!
This Tumblr initially was meant for writing events, like #crewfuweek2022. Now I'm doing whatever comes to my mind, such as art, ficlets, some abstract things that my brain tells me to do at 2am.
For your (and my own) convenience I have put (and going to update) featured in this blog tags.
Some of them I want to mention here:
#allianettemie5 original. These are all the original posts from me (no reblogs). It's convenient sometimes to have this tag pinned somewhere. I DO NOT CLAIM that I am a hundred percent author of the original things that I posted about.
#allianettemie5 ask. Kinda shocked that I can add this tag atm. This makes me feel very professional, and I am scared.
#allianettemie asks others. Self-explanatory, I hope.
#private recording 1. I'm trying to get this name some more recognition, for this CC group changed my life.
#chilledchaos. <3
#private alignment charts 1. This is my own little thingy with me making various alignment charts with some content creators from #private recording 1. Check them out, it's been so much fun making them.
#fanfiction. I write a little bit. I mean, I have grand plans, and not all of them come to life. Still, I have an account on Ao3 where I come back to once in a while.
#harry potter au. I also have this little side project. This is #private recording 1 Harry Potter AU. I don't know what it'll become in the future.
#genshin impact au. This one is #private recording 1 in the lands of Teyvat. For now it's posts about each of them getting their Visions.
Events I partook in:
#crewfuweek2022. My first ever writing events and the only one so far. I highly recommend checking it out, there's a master post for ya.
#pr1 appreciation month 2023. Hosted by yours truly, Private Recording 1 appreciation event -> master post.
Some more facts about myself:
I'm not a native English speaker, but I think I've picked it up at a decent level.
I watched the entirety of Supernatural (pain).
I tried to learn Sindarin when I was 14.
I tried to learn Klingon when I was 17.
My favorite song to play on guitar is Hey Jude, and it totally has something to do with Supernatural.
Sometimes Imagine by John Lennon is hitting something deep inside of my chest.
I consider myself a Star Wars fan (pain).
Batman Returns (1992) is a Christmas movie, one of the best, and you won't be able to convince me otherwise.
My favourite cinematic moment of all the time was and will be the scene of Eorlingas riding down the hill at the Uruk-hai with the blinding sun rising behind their backs and the music so bright and inspiring and powerful; I haven't seen more beautiful (or even matching) moment in cinema in my entire life.
I listen to movie soundtracks a lot. Here are the top-3 movies I love the soundtrack from: The Lord of The Rings (the whole trilogy), the new Star Trek trilogy, and Pirates of the Caribbean 1-3. These trilogies rule.
I'm a space invader, I'll be a rock 'n' rollin' bitch for you
I want to end this post with a quote from Skadj, for some reason.
Totally about me

hi! hello! i haven’t figured what i want online people to call me so pricker for now will do. call me pricker.
i figured ive been here long enough to have amassed quite a collection of posts and they are admittedly all over the place. so i decided id pin a list of fandom and tags that i regularly reblog and post stuff for. also as a way to hold myself accountable for all the interests ive started and dropped halfway through lol. for all i like to say i draw or i write about fandom, i find myself doing none of those things.
so! in no particular order other than my stream of consciousness, here's a list of shenaniganry on the blog so far:
percy jackson and the olympians: read the whole damn thing at age 12 and was never the same! expect the occasion headcanon or rave about the musical.
danny phantom: love for this show started from the theme song and only spiralled (downwards) from there. some art and headcanons here and there, with the occasional event!
the chronicles of narnia: i learned what magic was when i discovered these books in the back of the classroom library, honest. i mostly rave about fics and post the occasional doodle.
over the garden wall: this pops up at least once a year, and you'll know it's nearing september when it does. my favourite thing cartoon network has ever (very bafflingly??) aired since gumball, and the soudntrack is how i get through winter. mostly art.
hadestown: i am delusional for a west end cast recording to complete the current trilogy of hadestown albums i have, and seeing it live has only further cemented it to possibly my favourite work of art ever created. mostly reblogs of poetic musings and analyses.
shakespeare-posting: i've been trying to consume more shakespeare so they'll crop up depending on the play i'm working my way through! i'm also collecting globe productions like pokemon so hopefully there's more thoughts to come.
lord of the rings/hobbit: i may have basic straight man taste in movies (the original trilogy, not the hobbit), but i am too enthralled by fan reinterpretations of the story to not admit i like them. also the hobbit shaped my expectations by fantasy ok
spy x family: my first manga that i will forever tout to have begun reading before the anime blew up. illustration reblogs and updates as i make my way through the manga!
dungeon meshi: likely the most recent addition to this post, and i am very much enjoying the anime as it's airing. illustrations and headcanons!
fullmetal alchemist: a lot of brotherhood and illustrations, though i'm planning on reading the manga soon.
good omens: both book and show tickled me immensely, and i am very excited for s3 - it's taken over my pinterest. i also post a lot about gaiman's work and a goal over the summer is to read more of his and start on pratchett's!
the owl house: i was posting pretty fervently when it aired! not much so now, but if terrace and the crew ever release comics like gravity falls or amphibia did there will be a tag RENAISSANCE. speaking of..
gravity falls: there was a phase. and look, i'm still not entirely out of it — dipper and mabel are still my go-to characters for warm-up doodles.
les miserables (musical): genuinely there was a three-month period in my life where i could not listen to anything other than a les mis soundtrack. i could probably recognise any major actor post 10th-anniversary performing the role by their voice alone.
ducktales 2017 (dt17): you cannot possibly convince me this reboot began airing seven years ago. i will never stop raving about its artistic direction and inspirations, not to mention its STACKED cast.
harry potter: ah, my first fandom. where it all started. i post the occasional headcanon and rant but that's it.
pirates of the caribbean: i do enough rewatches of the first three films to warrant a spot on this list.
our flag means death: while i loved s1 and didn't much care for s2, art reblogs pop up here and there.
i have a horrible memory so i love making lists like this to remind myself of the things i enjoy.

MOVIES/SHOWS I'VE WATCHED — 2024
(not necessarily ones that came out on 2024 just ones I watched on 2024)
(started actually writing the list on March so hazy details for some)
(will edit throughout the year i really just want a tracker)
••••••••••••••••••••
Taylor Tomlinson: Have It All (2024) ☆☆
~ Good! Fun! I enjoyed her other two shows more, but this was fine too :)
••••••••••••••••••••
Hazbin Hotel (2024) ☆☆☆☆
~ Oh the songs!!! The songs are so fun and good and I'm obsessed with all the songs. The story's fine too, heaven and hell topics are always fun to hear about no matter how repetitive it can be at this point but it was okay. I still listen to the soundtrack even though it's been a while since I've watched. (Particularly obsessed with "wait! what.are.you.saying? let. me. get. this. straight. you go downthere and kill those poor souls????" it keeps playing in my head)
••••••••••••••••••••
Pirates of the Caribbean (full series) ☆☆☆☆
~ Rewatch! Missed Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner and ended up watching the entire thing again. Glad they're not making another because the story's obviously done and the last two ones kinda felt lower in quality than the first ones but the first ones were so good so they still get four stars.
••••••••••••••••••••
Missing (2023) ☆☆
~ This was more fun while I was watching it compared to after I watched it? Not sure if that makes sense but I enjoyed the plot twists while it was happening, it's just that finishing the movie and processing the whole thing made me feel underwhelmed?? But I liked the way that throughout the story you could see bits and pieces of hints about what the story really is. Not something I'd look forward to rewatching, but it was fun to watch !
••••••••••••••••••••
Elemental (2023) ☆☆☆☆☆
~ Been a while since I've watched a Pixar film and I really liked this. This was sooo good and I wish they could explore the stories of the world more because it seems very interesting. This could have had a whole series after it too but there isn't any :(
••••••••••••••••••••
Moving (2023) ☆☆☆☆☆
~ I was soooo late to this kdrama considering it was something I was looking forward to so much because Cha Taehyun was in it! Loved all the powers and all the backstories! I have no complaints and no notes but I really am hoping rumors of a completely different cast for S2 isn't true and that they would elaborate on the story with the same people, just add more into the mix if needed. Need to see more of CTH's character pleasee let him learn his powers more.
••••••••••••••••••••
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) ☆☆☆☆
~ Rewatch! Still a comfort film for me. I miss my Roald Dahl books
••••••••••••••••••••
Make Some Noise (Season 1&2) (2022-2024) ☆☆☆☆
~ Finally got a Dropout subscription!! But yes this was the first ones I immediately went to watch. All of them were great, some prompts weren't relatable/something I was familiar with so there were down moments for me but that's on me!! Special mention to the Plunger that didn't make it to Beauty and the Beast movie, the two Liam Neesons who had to trade their daughters, and the Fisherman who fought God in an arena full of creatures.
••••••••••••••••••••
Game Changer (Season 1-5) (2019-2023) ☆☆☆☆☆
~ I was going to pace myself so I don't finish it all in one month but I had to keep watching. Not a single episode missed I enjoyed every single one!!! Currently watching S6 (as of writing this) and also still good! I'd say S4 is my fave season overall? Special mention to my favorite episodes, The Official Cast Recording and Escape the Green Room
••••••••••••••••••••
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: Season 1 (2023) ☆☆☆
~ Honestly deserves more stars but I can't get past over some of the scenes they've changed from the book that didn't need to be changed. I will probably need the next season to fully appreciate the TV version more because I'm still stuck with the mindset that the TV is a book adaptation, when it really is it's own thing at this point. I love that there's more Sally Jackson appreciation though! And Percy is incredible I actually feel like he's the same Percy from the books.
••••••••••••••••••••
Doctor Slump (2024) ☆
~ Was looking forward to this too much because I like the lead actors but something about the way they tackled mental health in the latter parts made me less interested in the drama and honestly the best friends were more fun to watch. Felt like the script was too messy and I really just forced myself to finish it at the end. They were cute when they were getting together tho
••••••••••••••••••••
When I Fly Towards You (2023) ☆☆☆☆☆
~ This is the cutest thing ever?? The leads really only had one (1) major problem and they grew from it and became better at being with each other. I also liked that the other characters also had backstories explored and not just a secondary love line. There are a bunch of cliches but it's a romcom so I love that. Zaizai also just strongly established her cute, easygoing, loveable, and fearless character right from the start til the end and I love her!!
••••••••••••••••••••
Hidden Love (2023) ☆☆☆
~ Context: was told this was out around same time as WIFTY and competed with it and this was I think received better so I decided to watch it second but that was the wrong choice cause I would have liked WIFTY more either way. There's the (very confusing) age gap thing which, thankfully, they addressed but then they started to lean into it which left me ?? about it but that was really it. I feel like the other backstories apart from the main love story was not as well done as it could have been, but it did have some really good moments. Liked the acting though, they're both very cute! Loved the brother & sister duo as well.
••••••••••••••••••••
Physical 100: Season 2 ☆☆☆
~ I liked the camaraderie I saw from Season 1 cast more (even though its a competition) but I think the Season 2 games were more fun to watch them play. Don't really have much to say about it but I didn't really have much of an expectation going into it since I know there were issues with the way they ended last season. I think they were a bit more fair & transparent this time though! If they do another season I hope to see like a category basis type of game? Similar to semi-semifinals in S1 where they get to choose which games they think they'd do best in. But S2 was better in terms of showing different members at least because honestly I didnt know who the S1 finalists were until they were already in the finals, but at least Amotti & Beomseok were known from the start.
••••••••••••••••••••
The Marvels (2023) ☆☆☆☆
~ I have started to not keep up with MCU (starting with last two episodes of She-Hulk, so noting that in case I forget and want to catch up) which, honestly, devastating! But cannot blame myself because I don't like the discourse people have surrounding the movies anymore. Anyway, I don't care what other people think! This was a fun one! Sure, there were things that could have been elaborated on (what happened to the water planet???) but I never thought about all that back in the earlier MCU films because I always just thought they'd address those later on or I'd look for fics if I really want answers like a normal person! Point is: it was fun to watch. Loved all three Marvels and I think they were so cute together. Waiting for their next one!! (Hope there is still more because I heard lots of people didn't like it, same thing for Eternals, and now Eternals isn't going to be followed up on?? Huge middle finger to those people who took more Makkari content away from me!)
••••••••••••••••••••
Dimension 20: Fantasy High (2018-2019) ☆☆☆
~ Kind of a low rating, but that's because I'm still adjusting I think. I am onboard with the whole story, but it really felt like so many things were being set up for future storylines, which isn't bad!! Very expected, since it's the start of the entire series, so I really could argue for a 4 star rating on this one. I'm just not fully settled in yet with listening/watching to D&D campaigns because this is the first time so I'm sure I've missed a lot of things, but that's on me!! It was a good run though and I've already started with the Sophomore Year, which I think I'm enjoying more? So excited!
••••••••••••••••••••
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One ☆☆☆
~ I stupidly made the wrong decision to think this was the first MI movie bc someone told me this was the first I didn't realise they meant it was the first part !! That's on me though :) Anyway, bc of that I didn't get some things which is why I will be watching the whole MI for a bit more context lol But for now, will give it a 3.5 rating since it's something you can watch in passing, just casually, even if you know nothing about it. It's okay! Interested in seeing the second one. I like the built in dynamic that the three guys have already, fun stunts and etc!! Will revisit once I'm done with other IM. [Done with other IM: I CAN'T BELIEVE ILSA'S DEAD THEY REALLY CAN'T KEEP A FEMALE TEAM MEMBER HUH! Gonna raise the rating to 4 because I think it's on the same level as Fallout, but sliiightly better because it's building up to something more. Though I think if the continuity sucks for the next film, my view on this would go down by association haha]
••••••••••••••••••••
Abigail (2024) ☆☆☆
~ Not as terrifying as I thought it would be, it's still kinda a horror/thriller. I think my favorite is just Abigail tbh and Sammy when she turned puppet. The whole ballet in a violent way is so good I very much enjoyed that! It's another movie you can watch casually, but ending's not enough for me. I think I would've liked to see Abigail & Joey become friends after no matter how messed up that would be hahaha. Might also enjoy a second part to it!! Alisha Weir you are so talented and wonderful, I'm so excited to see more of your work when as you grow older.
••••••••••••••••••••
Mission: Impossible (1996) ☆☆☆
~ Not as fun as I expected? Very cool spy things but story itself was pretty predictable. I thought it would give more origin story of Ethan Hunt, which I think I would've enjoyed more. Didn't expect a 'suspected to be a spy working against them' right off the first film though! Anywayy, kinda low because the recent one has a bit more humor which huh makes me enjoy an action film more. This is more serious and you can feel Ethan's less experienced about it. But still probably the best choice for casual watch if you're good with an older film
••••••••••••••••••••
Mission: Impossible 2 (2000) ☆☆
~ Okay! Rating this lower by one star but I can't explain why. It's okay, but some parts of it felt dragged out, though I can't pinpoint which. Liked the stunts in this one more than the first! Also they really made a lot of use of the face mask thing they do this time around which definitely one of the best things they have in this series. Also can be watched casually, but probably wouldn't be my first choice.
••••••••••••••••••••
Mission: Impossible III (2006) ☆☆☆
~ First one with Simon's character!! Benji!!! Finally!! Tbh I think he's the character I like seeing interact with Ethan the most. Or my favorite character in the series in general. Not sure why yet. Ethan's wife is so cool but I really suspected her a lot at the start because of how some scenes were shot,, she was really cool at the end though. Would like to see her more. I think this one was a bit better than the other 2, but still a bit dead on some parts. It was okayy !
••••••••••••••••••••
Wicked (2013 Version) ☆☆☆☆
~ Been a long time coming. Watched the slime tutorial on youtube (with Donna Vivino & Alli Mauzey)! Performance was obviously amazing, Alli is known for being hilarious as Glinda (based on the comments) which is evident in the show. She really pulled off all the comical moments and it made the show so much more fun. The story itself was good! Not much to comment on for me, except I wish Elphaba and Glinda stayed in touch and I didn't really have much of an opinion on the love story haha,,, I just maybe would have liked a more friendship based one than having a love story mixed in because Elphaba struggled to be friends with anyone from the start. But the songs were great and I'm excited to see the movie now!
••••••••••••••••••••
Very Important People: Season 1 ☆☆☆☆
~ The only reason I even deducted one star is just I wish they'd gone more crazy in the costumes. Ify & Zac's costumes were the kind of level I wanted but I'm hoping more of that next season (which I'm already expecting). I love Vic so much, they're the best host for this. The lore of Vic is so fun to unravel. My fave ep (apart from Ify & Zac's) are Anna's and Izzy's!! They have pretty simple costumes but really made the whole thing so fun. Anna's Princess Emily was such a great start and I didn't know what to expect from Izzy's but I loveee the lines she gave. Veryyy hopeful and excited for the next season.
••••••••••••••••••••
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2013) ☆☆☆☆
~ THIS ONE WAS FAMILIAR. I think I might have watched it in a hotel somewhere in passing. But the Burj Khalifa scenes were iconic. The car park scene was fun. I think it's the best so far cause there's no dead scene as far as I recall. ALSO I spent a lot of time getting disappointed with the lack of continuity bc I really liked his wife and she's just gone (I was literally going "Where's his wife :(" the entire first half) bUT OMG SHE WAS HERE! CONTINUITY!! I like the story. This might be the best one in the series, but hoping the next one is better.
••••••••••••••••••••
Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation (2015) ☆☆☆☆☆
~ BEST INTRO SO FAR. And also best so far!! Topped Ghost Protocol I think. This had eveeerything I wanted and also I think the main reason I enjoyed this was because of Benji and Ilsa. Benji will continue to be my fave, I just really like his character and I'm glad he was more involved in this one. Ilsa was amazing!! She was so fun to watch and her situation was so insane. I liked the whole plot, it was exciting right from the start up until the end. This is really setting my expectations up too high for the next one.
••••••••••••••••••••
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018) ☆☆☆☆
~ I feel like this was the one where you can just feel the relief after they dealt with the bomb. They've had bombs in the past but this had a lot of cutting it close. JULIA, YOU'RE THE BEST! YOU'RE THE REASON THIS HAS 4 STARS AND NOT 3! I didn't expect her back but I'm so happy she was in this one despite it being short scenes. I don't think it topped Rogue Nation, I think it's mostly because of Henry Cavill's character? I hated him from the start and it was pretty obvious right off the bat he wasn't on their side so I just didn't like seeing his character in any scene lol...Alanna was fun! I'm glad she's also in the next movie. Ilsa was also greaaat.
••••••••••••••••••••
Tarot (2024) ☆☆
~ 2 stars sounds bad but it's really not that bad. It just feels like a last choice for a movie to put on but at least it was still a choice. It was a very obvious type of movie where you just knew logically the tarot readings were foreshadowing their death, so it was a matter of how they were going to show that. But I'm not really a fan of overly bloody and violent deaths on screen (unless deserved lol) so I had to look away several times. And the ending was,,, not as satisfying as it should have been. Not a very memorable movie, which is a shame cause I kinda looked forward to it.
••••••••••••••••••••
Atypical Family (2024) ☆☆
~ I'm kinda annoyed because I watched this with two episodes left to come out so I was really excited because the story has been great and the chemistry of the characters was great, and just the whole power concept in general was nice. It was like Moving but less action and more day to day life, which I guess made my expectations too high since I loved Moving. But the last two episodes were the ones that missed for me. The ending especially??? It felt like they needed at least one more episode. Like they barely wrapped anything up and it kinda sucks. If they'll do another season then maybe my rating for this would go up, but idk I'm just finding the ending to have kinda ruined the whole thing for me. Not satisfying to watch at all.

Ranking classical movie music composers based on vibes
John Williams: what iconic movie soundtracks HASNT he done. Harry Potter! Jurassic Park! Star Wars! Indiana Jones! Others!!! All iconic ones and all ones that have so great musical compositions to them that are recognizable and beloved. John Williams is probably one of the most well-renowned composers today.
Michael Giacchino: I will not forgive him for the Up soundtrack. Also his superhero movie song titles have unique names and I love the one song from the Spider-Man no way home that combines all three Spider-Man themes into one song but still manages to make it a unique song.
Hans Zimmer: Pirates of the Caribbean. He also did the lion king and I assume some other Disney movies too. His best known works are in the DC movies but I haven’t seen those. The soundtracks are solid though.
James Newton Howard: THE HUNGER GAMES THE FRENCH HORNS & SAXOPHONES WE CAN HEAR THEM AND WE HAD THE MELODY when we played it for a band concert and the fact that it was almost 8 years ago and I remember that fact says something. Besides that he did the fantastic beasts movies. He really likes to highlight the horns and I love that.
Alan Silvestri: Avengers. His best work is the avengers. Even if you’re not a marvel person you know the avengers theme. It’s such a recognizable song that is such a good earworm. I love how he incorporated the original avengers theme into the song from endgame (portals) without giving it too much of a copycat of the theme. That song gives me chills listening to it.
Christophe Beck: ok less known but he did the Ant-Man movies and in the same vein of Michael Giacchino these titles are fun! But along with those he did quite a few of the marvel TV shows and also Frozen. Christophe Beck really likes strong motifs and themes that can be called back to later. He also likes to highlight the lower instruments.
Danny Elfham: he’s got the ‘weird ones’ the Johnny Depp Willy Wonka, Rango, Alice in Wonderland, Beetlejuice, Nightmare before Christmas. But his music is really solid and fun. There’s not much else to say here.
Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein: ok so it IS two people but they’re the two who did strangers things all four years and even if you dont like the show; the soundtrack is beautifully done with a large number of callbacks to previous seasons. (Best example: Kids is the title of a song in s1. In s4 there’s a song titled Teens that uses the same motif from Kids but changed it slightly to be more grown)
Mark Mothersbaugh: ok so I only have listened to one of his soundtracks but it’s the thor Ragnarok one and I love it. He also did ofmd and yeah. I love the way the synth in Ragnarok is incorporated without making it too much in some of the more orchestral songs
Howard Shore: ok so I only know what’s from lord of the rings from him but I LOVE concerning hobbits as it fits the not concerned with the outside world, bouncy, carefree, happy vibe of the Shire so well in that song.
John Powell: so he did HTTYD and I absolutely ADORE LOVE test flight for many a reason. But mostly because of the FRENCH HORNS and the climax of the song and how it feels mildly action packed but not the sense of dread action packed but more of the carefree action packed.
What have we learned from this: super hero movies have great composers, I can talk about music theory for a long time and don’t even care if anyone is listening, I did know like 3/4 of these composers names without looking it up, and I’m the person the soundtracks are on Spotify for. Furthermore I love French horns despite never playing them and not being able to because I was a woodwind.
#does anyone even like music theory here or is it just me#music theory is a passion#music theory#composers#ramblings about special interests#special interest#for sure#long post#I could do a part two but nobody would want that lol#I’m going to be the bitch when the cosmere show comes out to listen to the soundtrack and tell you if it gives the vibes of the book or not

Been listening to the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack (Black Pearl has the best one) and I keep seeing Hancock as a pirate king (but not really a king he just likes pretties) and Goodneighbor as like Libertalia in Uncharted 4 only less pirates squabbling over stupid shit and more drugs and partying
I mean, he does say if sexy mayor didn't pan out he would have gone sexy pirate.
It's never too late to hoist the flag in Goodneighbor:
Tired of DC's bullshit and resource hoarding (food, drugs, medical supplies, etc.), makes periodic raids on Upper Stands Asshole warehouses, distributing it freely to GN folks and allies, while his black market contacts (who appear to work independently) make offers to help the Upper Stands Assholes get their stuff back, only to make sure the stuff they get is supremely lower quality and guaranteed to rot/fall apart during storage.
Absolutely takes in any strays from DC and makes sure everyone in Goodneighbor knows they have Never Seen said person when DC sends people to ask. (DC Upper Stands Assholes only think they know how to navigate the underground. Goodneighbor is the fucking general manager of the Underground, Karen.)
Everyone knows historically pirates had all the queers. Goodneighbor holds Pride in honor of those queers who came before...and also as an excuse to party.
While Goodneighbor is technically a no rules kind of town, there are unspoken rules. For instance, slavers who don't end up gutted in the dark for coming to their town, definitely find themselves beaten near to death and left on the local slaver's doorstep with a note carved into their chest as a warning; rapists usually find themselves meeting Faranheit as her plaything; and anyone who mistreats the GN kids gets to be the pinata at the next party.
Murder, stealing, assault, and general mayhem between consenting adults is always encouraged, but so are consequences to your actions. And by the law of GN, Hancock ain't gonna save your stupid ass if you got caught stealing someone else's shit.
If you manage to get kicked out of Goodneighbor, Hancock would absolutely give you a merit badge for it.
The Neighborhood Watch is the crew of the GN ship, and their loyalty was fucking earned. Hancock is fully aware mutiny would mean he Really Fucked Up, Deserved It, and the possibility of it reminds him of Who Is Really In Charge.
As Faranheit says, they are completely disorganized as a result of GN's ideas; however, when defending their ship, they are emboldened, fierce, and a force to be reckoned with, but will still absolutely listen to their Captain.
Yeah sure, Hancock has lots of money, but he gives it away freely, and any he keeps is used to maintain his ship and his personal vices.
Major holidays that demand parties or the people will riot include, in no particular order, Halloween, Talk Like a Pirate Day, Pride, Chrisyulkwanzeidukkah, Magnolia Moves In Anniversary, Boxing Day (in which they don't know what it was but sounded fun and is the one day fights are organized and the person who wins biggest in the betting pool has to fight the victor...if they lose the fight, their money buys all the drinks for the afterparty), and Thursday.
I don't know, dearest Anon, but I am kind of figuring they are pirates on the downlow...beacause Sneaky Is Always Better.
.
----------
Anyone else get hot under the collar envisioning them capturing a slaver who is being held by two members of the Neighborhood Watch and full pirate Hancock steps out of the shadows and levels the most "you gonna die screaming" stare while growling "Arrgh."

Tagged by @i-was-bored-so-this-happened, thank you so much, gosh gosh gosh!
Post 7 comfort movies and tag 7 people
I don’t get to rewatch a lot of things anymore, mostly because I am not highly technologically adept and don’t have much time...
1. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) This should not be a surprise to anyone. I knew this movie backwards and forwards before my brain had settled enough to actually remember character names. This may be a clue as to why I am the way I am.
2. The Secret of Pirate Island (2009) If you’ve ever heard of this in your life, please let me know. The brother and I watched this so frequently that we can still probably recite the entire thing. I have many questions, such as who funded this absurd Playmobil movie, who approved this plot, and how can I meet them. There is a game show, with fabulous prizes. There is a dragon. There is, as my friend puts it, “suddenly John Lennon but he’s southern”. Also definitely influenced why I’m Like This.
3. The Hunt for Red October (1990) Probably a weird choice for a “comfort” movie, but it reminds me of my granddad, and, to a certain degree, more modern warships are just as Aesthetic™ as older ones, just in a very different way.
4. The Green Hornet Strikes Again! (1941) I have never finished this, ever, and I doubt that I ever will. But, given that the full serial has a runtime of about 4.5 hours, and I can only watch it at my grandparents’ house, I think that’s reasonable. It just has strange, nostalgic vibes, and the constant alternation between Sudden Intense Cliffhangers and Everything Being Perfectly Fine is weirdly relaxing for me.
5. Emma (2020) Amazing colors, amazing costumes, amazing sets... the entire cast continually astonishes me with their beauty... and the soundtrack.... *is currently listening to the soundtrack* Johnny Flynnnnnn....
6. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) *shrugs* It’s just good! The music alone... I have nothing more to say.
7. Wolfwalkers (2020) Possibly the most beautiful movie I’ve ever seen. The animation style is like nothing else I’ve ever seen, looking alternately like old woodcuts or watercolors... also I just love a well-done werewolf story.
Tagging.... let’s say.... @urtica-dioica-22, @thescarletpaperback, @dratandbotherbotheranddrat, @littlewoodenworld, @graduatedpillowmonster, @natdrinkstea, @benjhawkins, if you want to?
#one of those tag things#for your information tiny-em imprinted on stephen maturin like a baby duck#absolutely no clue why

Thunderstorms Ch.1 (Fellowship x Reader)
Summary: Reader is in for a pretty large and unexpected surprise when a massive thunderstorm hits. How did the Fellowship of the Ring end up in your backyard?
Warnings: Language
Word count: 3,151
Pairing(s): Platonic Fellowship of the ring x fem!reader, eventual romantic interest (Lord of the Rings)
Who do you want Reader to end up with? Vote here!
A/N: Okay, absolutely no one asked for this, but here we are. I’ve been kicking myself for not doing requests or FMN ch2 because of terrible writers block but I got a random stroke of inspiration and decided to write this. I figured it’d be better to write anything than nothing at all! Because this is in a modern setting, reader is from the US because I am, and any slang I use I want to be authentic and don’t want to offend anyone by trying to pass it off as somewhere else. I hope y’all enjoy this!
Comments and feedback are always appreciated! Let me know if you want more!

Masterlist I Next
You stretched out your stiff muscles as you stood from your desk chair. You rubbed your hand down your face and paused your music, deciding that it was time to take a break and make some lunch. Groaning as you opened the refrigerator door you called out,
"Alexa, play some music" Not really caring what it picked as long as it was something.
You were home alone in your childhood house, and any noise was a much needed distraction from the eerie creaking and groaning of the building around you. Your parents were off in their summer home down south having to take care of some repairs or leasing or something, so they left you in charge. You didn't mind, it was a place to stay while you worked and took online classes to finish school. Plus, you had the whole place to yourself, so it didn't matter how messed up your sleep schedule was, or how much noise you made.
You would have to go to the store soon, you thought to yourself, glancing around your mostly empty shelves to find something edible. You decided on a quick sandwich and some fruit, grabbing the necessary ingredients and humming along to the music as you worked.
When you finished, you debated watching something as you ate or simply eating as you worked. You decided on the former- after all, you'd been on top of all your school work so there was no rush to get anything done. With that decision out of the way now you just had to decide what exactly to watch. You sat down on the couch with your drink and food in hand, looking around the living room for inspiration.
It had been awhile since you watched any of your favorites again, you thought as your eyes landed on a Harry Potter DVD that had been collecting dust on top of your playstation from whenever you watched it last. But no, you weren't really in the mood for wizards. Pirates of the Caribbean? That was always a good one. Plus, it had Orlando Bloom in it so….yay. You snapped your fingers- that was it! Lord of the Rings! It still had Orlando Bloom, but it had that deep fantasy setting you've been craving. You popped in the first disc of Fellowship, extended edition of course, and began happily munching on your lunch.
---
Your heart swelled as the credits rolled, remembering just how much you loved those movies. The scenery, costumes, soundtrack, actors, everything about it was just so, so, ugh! You just loved it so much. You grew up on these movies and they always had a special place in your heart.
They were still super long, though, and you needed to get back to work. You cleaned up the living room and headed back upstairs to finish your essay for class. Smiling, you decided to put on the soundtrack from fellowship instead of whatever you were listening to last. Maybe then you would get more inspiration? Or at least time would pass quicker. Whatever it was, you just needed more to satisfy your lotr craving. You were definitely watching the other two movies when you were done.
You got several hours of good work done, not even realizing when your music had switched to the two towers. You were snapped out of your work-zone when a clap of thunder sounded outside, and you realized just how dark it was. The only light in the room was your computer screen. You went to turn on the light and continue working when you saw lightning flash from outside your window. Frowning, you remembered when you checked the weather this morning and the chance of rain was very low. Of course meteorologists are never really 100% right all the time, but this seemed a little off. How could they miss a huge thunderstorm?
You just shrugged and sat back down at your desk to finish- you were so close to being done! At least you'd sleep well later to the sound of rain. You saved your document just go be safe. Yeah your program autosaved your work but you couldn't be too careful if there was a storm. What if the power went out? Whatever, you just needed to focus to finish the last two paragraphs and then you'd be done.
You glanced up to your window as you began to type when- a huge rumble of thunder shook your whole house and lightning flashed incredibly bright. You felt the weight of the thunder even rattle your insides as you were seemingly blinded by the lightning. Blinking, you looked around to see what the hell just happened. There was nothing but darkness around you, your monitor no longer showing the essay you'd been working on for so long. You were right- the power went out. And holy shit were you glad you saved.
If the thunder and lightning were so close together, that meant the storm was above you, right? You stood up to get a closer look out your window. Wind was howling, whipping the rain and trees all around in the torrential downpour. Thunder rumbled and lightning flashed again, slightly farther apart this time, and what you saw outside….well you definitely didn't expect.
The brief flash of light illuminated figures of people laying down in your backyard. What? You rubbed your eyes and looked harder out into the darkness, still seeing the motionless shapes. Your backyard was fenced in and locked, there was no way so many people could get in. And why were they just laying there? In the rain?? You were so utterly confused. There was just no way. You had to be going crazy. This was just you seeing things in the shadows because you were home alone. It was nothing.
Your stomach churned as you paced around your office. Should you go outside? Or at least downstairs to get a closer look? What if they needed help and were stuck in the rain? There were some woods beyond your property so maybe they wandered in. But no. Were you crazy? That's how stupid people always die in horror films. Something incredibly weird and scary happens and they go check it out. And then they get brutally murdered or something. No. Out of the question. You tried to tell yourself that you were just seeing things, making shapes out of shadows for nothing. There was nothing there. But no, your stomach didn't agree. Your gut told you there really were people out there. You saw them in the flash of light. If they were just shadows, you wouldn't have seen anything from the lightning.
Okay, so, there really were people in your yard. What should you do? Call the police? And then what? Hi officer I think I see a bunch of men in my backyard. No they're just laying there. How dumb would that sound?? Ugh no, you couldn't do that. If they were just laying there….how long had they been there? You certainly didn't see anything from the kitchen during lunch. The knot in your stomach twisted further. If they ended up needing help or something and you just sat there doing nothing, you would end up kicking yourself about it later.
Ugh! Curse your stupid moral compass and your need to help others. If this was how you died by being the stupid person in a scary movie, then so be it. You used the flashlight from your phone to light the way through your house, throwing on some shoes and a raincoat as you headed downstairs. Since it was still light out when you were last down here, the blinds were all open and you had a good view outside of both the front and back. There were definitely people out there. Now that you were closer you could make out at least...8 bodies in the grass? You crept into the kitchen and shined your flashlight out the glass door. Your light reflected off of several of the figures. You thought they might be wearing reflective gear or something, but the light wasn't as bright as it should've been. No, that was metal that reflected the light.
You squeezed your eyes shut and clenched your fists in hopes of gathering up some courage. You sighed and tried to calm your nerves. You reached out and unlocked the door, pausing to see if the bodies would react to the noise. They didn't flinch, so after a moment you pulled the door open, and slid the screen door to the side . They didn't react to that either, so you stepped out into the rain.
Without turning your back on them, you stepped around to the wood pile nearby, glancing back to grab a long stick. There was no way you were gonna touch these strangers. Stick in hand, you crept up to the nearest one. Upon closer inspection, you saw what was reflecting the light from the door. Laying in front of you was a man with dark medium length hair. His clothes were ragged, a green cloak hung around his shoulders. It certainly looked nothing like anyone would wear currently. Strangest of all, however, was a sword strapped to his back along with what appeared to be a blanket. Tilting your phone around, it looked very real. A foam sword or prop wouldn't shine like that.
You looked over to another figure and saw a similar sight. A man with medium length hair and a green cloak but instead of a sword on his back, he had a large round shield with what you think was a sword strapped to his hip. What the fuck? You glanced to another, a man with long blond hair and a matching green cloak but this time with a bow, daggers, and a quiver full of arrows at his back. You knew these props. It looked so familiar. Your breathing picked up as you looked over another figure. This one was much smaller. He had shorter, currier hair and again the same matching green cloak. Where the other men had boots however, this man...child(?)'s feet were bare. And large. Much larger than you would think for someone of his size.
The pit in your stomach sank much deeper. You knew who these men were, or, at least trying to be. You literally just watched the first freaking movie. You identified each member of the fellowship of the ring. Aragon was in front of you, followed by Boromir, then Legolas. You saw Frodo, Sam, and you couldn't tell which one was Merry or Pippin from this distance but there were definitely four Hobbits. The furthest figure must've been Gimli. Gandalf was not among them, but that would make sense given the rest of the fellowships matching green cloaks. You were definitely freaking out now. There were a bunch of freaking cosplayers passed out in your yard? What the hell were you gonna do now? Your thoughts were racing, but your stomach was faring much worse. Somehow, you thought, it was much worse than it seemed.
You thrust your stick forward, prodding at the 'Aragorn' that lay at your feet. He didn't stir, so you poked a little harder. You thought you saw his breathing quicken, but reached forward with your stick anyway, just for good measure. The man shot up and grabbed your stick away from you in one fluid motion, drawing his blade with his other hand.
You stood like a deer in headlights, unmoving with eyes wide. The man held his sword out at you, pointing it at your throat while he glanced at his surroundings. You blinked and quickly threw your hands up in surrender, dropping your phone in the grass. Thankfully, it landed face down so it still provided some light. Rain continued to pour.
'Aragorn' looked back at his companions all strewn about then turned back towards you, thrusting his sword in warning.
"Who are you and what have you done to them?" The man spoke and you just stared, mouth agape.
"What is this place? Answer me!" He insisted and took a step forward bringing the blade closer to your throat. There was no way that thing was a prop. That thing looked sharp.
You tried to speak, your mouth suddenly dry and tongue getting caught in your throat. His yelling, it seemed, was loud enough to wake the others, as they began to stir.
"Aragorn. What is this place, what is going on?" You heard another voice speak and a blade removed from its sheath. Boromir stepped up to Aragorn's side and held his blade out at you as well.
Your mind was racing at 100mph but you were just frozen in place, shock taking over your body. How were you supposed to respond to this? What were you supposed to do? Looking at each of them, that was, without a shadow of a doubt, Aragorn and Boromir.
"I-I…" you began, trying to form the right words. Aragorn simply raised a brow, "I-uh.. my name is (y/n) and um, you're in my backyard? I have no idea how you got here."
"Your yard? This is your house?"
"Uh- yeah um...do you want to come inside?" Aragorn and Boromir exchanged glances.
"How are you so quick to invite us in? What do you want from us?"
"Nothing!" You answered a bit too quickly, your voice going up in pitch, "Uh I mean n-nothing. I don't want anything from you. I was just writing in my house when the thunder hit and I looked outside and you all were just laying here, so I came out to see what was going on. Look, I wasn't even armed!" You gestured to your stick that was still in Aragorn's hand.
He glanced down at it and indeed, it wasn't even sharp. He dropped it to the ground, calling out something in elvish, you only picked up Legolas' name. He responded in kind, and Aragorn nodded. He called out another phrase and turned back to you.
"You seem to be telling the truth, and we have no memory of how we arrived. We are in no position to refuse such a generous offer, but know this-" he twirled the sword in his hand before sheathing it, "should you try anything, we are armed." Boromir did the same, and you nodded in agreement. Legolas was helping the others up.
"Please, um, follow me." You weren't sure if you should let them go first or show them in, so you decided to enter before them to show that you really didn't have any traps or anything malicious.
You held your back door open for them as they entered one by one, all looking around at their strange new surroundings. Aragorn was last to enter, and you awkwardly shut the door behind them and locked it. They all looked to you expectantly, dripping water all over your kitchen.
Aragorn cleared his throat and took a small step forward. "I am Aragorn, son of Arathorn. This here is Boromir of Gondor, Legolas of the Woodland Realm, and Gimli, son of Gloin. The halflings are Meriadoc Brandybuck, Peregrin Took, Samwise Gamgee and, Frodo Baggins." Each bowed their heads as they were introduced. "And your name once more, my lady?"
"(Y/n) (l/n)....of Earth..?" You winced as you added the 'earth' bit. Here you were with your childhood heroes all standing in your kitchen, and you were just making a complete fool of yourself.
"You have our gratitude, my lady. " Aragorn put a hand at his heart. "Would you, perhaps, direct us back on course so we may be on our way? We would hate to impose." He glanced around your kitchen as he spoke, looking curiously at your appliances.
"Um..about that." You began to sweat. How the fuck are you supposed to tell them that they're in a completely different world with little to no chance of getting home?! "Uh, please um take a seat if you want. This um.. is going to be hard to explain." The men gave you strange looks while the hobbits pulled out your four kitchen chairs and sat down.
"You're not in Middle-Earth any more, but that's pretty obvious I guess. Uh, here it's called Earth. Just Earth, no middle. We don't really have any kingdoms here, each country has their own elected officials or dictators. We're in the United States of America, or the US for short. You um… you're in a different world than yours. And time, I guess. We're also a lot more advanced with our technology than you. Oh shit- um.. I realize now that it's weird that I know you're from Middle-Earth but let me explain ummm" you were definitely panicking now "Middle-Earth exists here? But.. to us, it's just a work of fiction, a story from a book. A really popular book. Like, the whole world has probably at least heard of it. So you're all um, characters in the book. Well, books actually. It's a series. Um, the author is J. R. R. Tolkien and the series is called The Lord of the Rings. And movies too. Really famous movies…" you trailed off.
They all stared at you in shock.
"I can prove it! Here….you must still be in the first book, The Fellowship of the Ring. I mean no offense, but I'm guessing that you just went through Moria and then Lothlorien, and were making your way down the river Anduin and planning to approach Mordor from the north...right?"
Their eyes went wide and they all exchanged looks.
"How do you know that?" Gimli asked.
"Well uh, I can tell because of your cloaks. You got them from Lorien, they have the leaves. And they look new, they're not that dirty yet. And Gandalf isn't with you.." you finished sheepishly. You almost said because Boromir was still there. And they were all still together. Thank god you kept that information to yourself.
"So," Boromir began, "Your entire world knows of the ring? And our mission?"
"Of course!" Their shoulders sagged so you quickly added, "Well the books and movies are super popular! A ton of people know your story, but that's a good thing! Everyone knows your story because they love it and they're rooting for you. They want your mission to succeed and to see the ring destroyed, too." They looked visibly relieved. " I swear on my life that I want nothing to do with the ring and I want you to succeed at all costs. I've grown up loving the books and the movies, so it really means a lot to me." You swallowed as you realized how awkward that sounded.
"Thats nice but, what's a movie?" Pippin asked.
Oh god, this was going to be a very long night.
