I think the main reference to his height is Epel being surprised they're the same age because he's taller than Sebek, yes? which I find interesting, considering Jade and Malleus -- two of the tallest guys in the main cast -- are also there. and, since I've never been one to not think waaaay too much about the absolute stupidest minutiae about fictional characters, I see two possibilities:

one is that Epel is extremely good at eyeballing heights (I actually do feel like he could be? like. I'd believe he can estimate someone's height fairly accurately by calculating based on the life stages of an apple tree, or how many apples tall they are, or something else apple-related like that.) and Scully does, perhaps, fall into that narrow margin between Sebek and Jade in height.

OR two, out of the three certified Tall Guys there, Sebek is Epel's main frame of reference because he's the only one he's had any real interaction with for, let's be fair, pretty obvious reasons.

SO in conclusion, we still have no concrete answers and will probably have to wait until next year when we get his card profile, alas alas. 😔

Yes, plant leather is a great idea (not better than animal leather, in my personal opinion, but that's down to each individual's thoughts on the matter). But unfortunately much of it just can't replicate many of real leather's beneficial properties- and a lot of plant leathers heavily involve plastic in their production. (source)

Look, ALL clothing production needs to be more sustainable at this point. The chemicals involved in tanning actual leather, unless it's organic leather, aren't good for the environment either. And I will never rag on someone for their choice to avoid real leather- we're all just trying, I hope, to make the best choices according to our values and within the confines of a broken system (as long as we're not hurting anyone else). For me, the massive habitat loss and environmental destruction caused by plastics production and waste is a greater evil than the deaths of individual animals in the production of meat and/or leather. So I choose real leather and try to make each piece last as long as I can, aware that any choice I make will have environmental impacts and is not perfect. Someone else might see it differently, and I really am not in a position to judge their choices.

However.

The term "vegan leather" is blatant greenwashing, and 99% of the time it applies to plastic. If people prefer to wear plastic to avoid real leather, that's fine, but they- and moreover companies -need to be honest about that. Just like synthetic fabrics should be called plastic, so should synthetic leather. Even some of the allegedly "plant-based" stuff, it turns out.

I'm honest that my real leather is animal hide. Time for the faux-green fashion industry to display some honesty of its own.

Don't even get me started on how awkward it is to keep being so possessive over her when y'all aren't even an item (I'M LOOKING AT YOU TOO SHINICHI. GLARING REAL HARD HERE.). If she's seeing some other guy (which would never happen because of course she has fallen head over heals for you. Ugh- this is triggering my gag reflex.) then leave her be, because you either act like a chicken after being all bark and no bite or idk, grow a spine and fricking confess??? I would like to know what they actually even talk about or bond over. From what I understood, Kazuha really likes the sound of his katana when he practices, which is high-key weird and makes me feel deaf cause how do you even hear that sort of stuff? And... What does Heiji like about her again? These guys need to explain what they like about their crushes more often. Or at least maybe ask themselves about it every once in a while, yk, just to make sure all of this stress is worth it. I will NOT be talking about Aoko and Kaito purely for the sake of my heart and blood pressure; they can only handle one dcmk couple at a time.

In conclusion, a man with an unresolved inferiority/superiority complex–because he somehow has both–so severe he cannot function without making it about his rival should not be looking for a relationship before seeing a therapist. Thank God his actual friendship with Shinichi isn't an eighth as bad as you'd think it should be; they're one of the most iconic duos ever, let's just keep their love lives outta the mix (Heiji is high-key supportive though, so there's that ig).

Edit: Came back after I realized I phrased my opinion on Heiji and Shinichi's friendship in a way that was easy to misinterpret. What I mean to say is that they're my favorite dcmk duo but I just can't stand how Heiji prioritizes one upping Shinichi rather than getting his feelings out there. I say Heiji ditches Kazuha as a love interest and forms a trio with Shinichi and Shiho. They'd be unstoppable homies that would do the unspeakable for each other.

Every day I get dangerously closer to doing Heel Math. Which not only hurts my brain, but also makes me feel like I'm betraying myself........ there's NO WAY Moe stands at 5'6" in the hooves. No fucking way. Is Sharena 5'4" with or without the heels? She HAS to be One Inch Taller than Moe. Because Moe is 5'3". Don't even get me fucking STARTED on Alfonse allegedly being 5'11", something I've been taking as gospel from the art book, but there's no way. He has to be 5'11" WITH the heels. He Has To. There's NO WAY he's a whole ass 5'11" AND cunting it up on the battlefield to hit past 6 feet. That's fucking ridiculous. Do I do whatever I want forever, using the official heights as guidelines? (Lana's POV)

Well, I didn't have the best morning recently. I finally felt good enough to make breakfast and just as I finished, some wire in our cooker short circuited and sent the thing into flames. Thank the Lord that Parker works fast and was able to put it out fast, we still called the fire department to let them know and they came and did a sweep. Thankfully insurance covered the cooker and some of the smoke damage, so while a repair crew came to work on those we stayed at Parker's parents place.

Parker and I both felt it necessary to get a scan at the hospital just to check that everything was alright with the smoke inhalation, since my last scan was the one we did very early on, it was very interesting to see how much things have changed since that very first scan - we even learned a few things from the doctor! I'm going back soon for my 20 week scan, but it was good to get the green light that everything was okay. We're having our gender reveal very soon and we're so excited to find out!

Parker and I got the chance to travel to Windenburg with his parents, Allan Sr was speaking at a church conference and Parker was actually asked to help with the A/V during the various sessions so we travelled together. It's so great getting to see Parker's parents in ministry mode, they're such great examples and I'm thankful that the Lord has put them in my life to learn from. While in Windenburg, Amira and Zoe came to the conference with their families and it was so good to be able to see them! Zoe is in her 3rd trimester with her 3rd precious baby, so it was so good to see her before she gives birth as next time we're currently planned to see her is at Harvestfest - but something might come up sooner.

We had a nice weekend with the girls and their families, Zoe told us that Francisco got his orders meaning that its confirmed that the family will be moving to Henford-on-Bagley after windenburg. This is their first international deployment, so it will be Francisco heading out there to prep for the family to join him. The timing is perfect because Zoe is due with this baby in just a few weeks, so a group of the siblings are going to help them pack and move things so that she can be back in Newcrest for the baby to be born and will stay there until it's time for them to join Francisco.
