MCSM Season 3
This is just a small teaser on what I have currently have, or the start of it in other words. I've decided on the chapter word count to be 20k and the first 10k words of this chapter will be posted on ao3 as a teaser when i have it. Until then I'll be posting small, spread out excerpts from what I have. This is an au where Jesse makes a deal with romeo and he keeps his powers but isn't allowed to kill people or destroy their homes. Xara is also given back her admin powers.
Note, this is with female Jesse not male, I have yet to start on male Jesse's version. Also note that this is subject to change, I actually don't like it very much.
---
“…Nd this is why you were always the leader, because you're a control freak!"
"Maybe I would actually trust you if you didn't try and kill us all and lock us under bedrock!"
Jesse recognized the voices, they were, in fact, who she was intending to see. The admins keep was a perfect mix of Xara and Romeo's colors, a surprisingly well mix of red, black, purple, and white. It wasn't that far from Beacontown but it was on top of a mountain, because Romeo wouldn't agree otherwise. He still wasn't on the best of terms with Beacontown and liked ignoring his problems rather than face them. Petra and Lukas liked to say that Xara did it on purpose to terrorize the admin.
It was hard in the beginning, trusting him, but Jesse’s access to the golden gauntlet kept him in line at least. They’d formed somewhat of a friendship, more of a strained partnership than anything. Romeo helped with a lot of things around Beacontown, even though he wanted to stay out of the public eye. His shape shifting abilities helped with that.
The double doors that she was about to open burst open before she was able to grab the handle, making her jump back. Romeo was the one who had opened them, storming away while muttering something to himself. Another bad fight then.
"Ohh, he pisses me off!" Xara yelled once he rounded the corner, throwing something at the wall which shattered on impact. She was seething, Jesse could even see it from across the room. Xara was never that good at handling her emotions.
"Bad fight?" Jesse asked as she stepped in, Radar and Petra, who had wanted to come along, following her. Radar wanted to help with what Jesse and Petra had planned for their return, and Petra didn't trust the admins. Well, she didn't trust Romeo. Her and Xara got along well enough.
"Yeah, yeah, no, no, no...it wasn't. Just the usual." Xara sighed, running a hand over his face before waving the hand to make the shattered item vanish. Her admin appearance was less "regal" than Romeo. By choice. She chose to take on a more human form after so long of being stuck as a human. It gave her comfort was always Jesse's guess for the reason.
"Just give him a chance, he's trying. In his own way." Jesse said, walking over to Xara and putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I still don't know how you forgave him so quickly." Xara responded, shaking her head. The statement sounded like it was meant to be an insult, but it wasn't, she knew that. Took a while to get used to it though.
"I'll...I’ll try. It's...hard though. He's done so much; I don't know if I can ever trust him again." Xara continued, grabbing her arm and rubbing it. It was a nervous tic she had, like Romeo and his tail and ears. It always swayed when he was nervous, and his ears started flicking.
"You'll never know unless you try." Jesse smiled, retracting her hand from Xara's shoulder. They were almost the same height, though Xara was taller. Romeo was a lot taller than both of them, actually he towered over everyone she’d had him meet.
"Thank you, Jesse." Xara responded, walking away from Jesse to get Radar away from an item he was about to pick up. Romeo had a lot of odd trinkets laying around, he liked creating things. Challenges, items, blocks, mobs. Anything, really. Having to participate in his challenges was always tiresome though. Sometimes it was fun, and he would usually give them rare items, but he was always making new ones and harassing them until they agreed. Even Radar, he'd taken a liking to him.

absolutely obsessed with the idea of timbern being super secretive over bear's time in the cult.
on one hand, bear is wildly insecure of his scars from the cult. cause it's not like he fucking got them saving the city or helping someone, he was just stupid enough to get sucked into a cult. (a voice in the back of his head that sounds a lot like his therapist and tim tell him that kids are supposed to be stupid and that his time in the cult is more a reflection of the adults in his life than his own choices) anyway his back and legs are like a mess of scarring and normally he'd just tattoo over them but scars have to be a certain age before they're tattooable. so he now just covers them up.
on the other hand, tim is insanely protective over bear's traumas. like if he got any more protective he'd be like certified deranged. so he just straight up dodges or lies about bear's backstory. anyway all this to say, they're hanging out in the pool at the manor and nobody but them ws supposed to be home. so bear thinks it's safe to take off his shirt. they're both having fun until someone says behind bear, "dude... what happened to your back?" cue tim lunging at them like a rabid dog and bear struggling to hold tim back going "tim, tim, what the fuck, what the fuck????"

So I'm replaying Ray's After ending rn, and it got me thinking that what I adore so much about Rika as an antagonist is just how damn scary she can be. I always found those who cause harm with good intentions (at least in their point of view) much scarier than those who hurt you with pure intention on hurting you. I think the best example of it is this CG in particular:
Look at that. Such a loving, gentle expression on her face. Probably kissing his forehead. Because she loves him. Heck, without any context, this CG looks even sweet, if you think about it. And yet, all that is while Saeyoung is forcefully sedated on a powerful concoction of drugs even a trained agent like him can't do anything about (and Saeyoung WAS definitely trained to deal with this sort of thing, hence it's mentioned that this is a 'special' kind of drugs). He looks miserable. Bags under his eyes, his expression pained and troubled, even his hair is paler than usual. All that as a direct result of her actions. But she's utterly blind to it. What's scarier, is that she knowingly shuts off her understanding of what's really happening. She's not oblivious to it at all. She just chooses not to see it that way. Simply because she doesn't want to.
Rika is the type of antagonist that will cup your cheek into her warm hand with the most loving of smiles on her face, all while you are getting elixir poured down your throat. Even whispering to you that you're doing great, that the pain will soon pass, and that she can't wait to see you reach the happiness she knows you deserve. I won't be surprised if she even cried genuine tears of compassion during some ceremonies for her believers. All while being the sole reason behind their suffering.
And that's... God, that's terrifying to me. I love that about her.
Rika Kim, they could never make me hate you

Let the hunt BEGIN 🦊
momma Lucy Gray
World-building and lore time!
————
I aimed to include a more primal element into the Furball AU. Hunting for food has become uncommon in this society. Many canines have either forgotten how to hunt or never learned, particularly those from the capital who regard it as something wild and uncivilized. They view the act of walking and stalking on all fours, only to suffocate or break the neck of their prey, as primitive. Such behavior is deemed a district-specific practice, serving as yet another rationale in their eyes for the pinboard to justify the games. The frequency of this hunting technique varies by district and is less prevalent among dogs compared to wolves, coyotes, or foxes.
Adjusting clothes are required or no clothes at all (its fur don’t worry) for the amount of physical activity. A skirt or dress would be in the way and higher the risk of stumbling and falling.
Coriolanus views this situation akin to any pampered poodle from the Capitol: "Why should I do this if we have guns?" He regards it as a primitive, beast-like activity. Meanwhile, Lucy Gray finds herself needing to remind him daily that they lack guns or the resources to alleviate hunger through other means. She may not appreciate the situation, but as a new mother, she's determined to provide for her family because, in her eyes, Coriolanus is utterly useless in this regard.
Does this assist her in the Hunger Games? Yes and no. While she can’t manipulate herself into hunting down tributes like rabbits, pheasants or other rodents, as her mind cannot be deceived in such a manner, her astounding stealth ability enables her to evade danger and hide in small places especially from coral. Despite her small size, this skill proves invaluable in the arena. So smol 🥀🦊

Halsin, warningly, with his hand on Astarion's shoulder: "It's alright, he doesn't bite."
Astarion, a streak of blood from his mouth, his bloody fangs poking out as he puts on a fake smile (that is actually a very real warning): a friendly greeting wave.
Bonus points for the blood slowly pouring out from Halsin's neck and the bite marks from Astarion's fangs. Someone walked in on them in the middle of a feeding. (All that feral white haired gremlin wants is to get back to sucking and slurping that tasty bear blood.)
The person who encountered this: slowly backs out.
