Mr Reca is a Welt Theory🎭

I'm bout to cook. It may not be food but it'll be COOKED.

It's canon in the Hoyoverse that sometimes people have counterparts in different dimensions. These counterparts usually have many similarities to the original such as in name and design, but are also different enough to be considered a different character. In this post I'm going to argue for the case that Mr. Reca and Welt are an example of this.

(Disclaimer: This is for goofs and fun. I do NOT think this is anywhere near canon or even totally sensical.)

Let's go from the least convincing evidence to the most convincing evidence:

Look the same 🫵

Although most of their similarities can be tossed aside as it being an anime game and people in this genre of just tending to look very similar-- I'm still including it. They both have brown hair with a parting a bit to the side, hair that covers one of their eyes partially, and some handsome greying.

We also know when Welt is using his powers his eyes can start glowing red

But uh yea I get it. This is a strech. Moving on.

2. Similar career choices

Welt claims* to have been an animator before boarding the Astral Express. Mr. Reca is a VERY passionate filmmaker. Yes I will point out that these are very different careers, but I will ALSO point out the similarities. Visual storytelling in the form of video!! Both include character development, shot planning, colour theory... The list goes on.

Also for some goddamn reason Welt has the power to summon animations from his homeworld...? That's weird. But it works with my theory so. Uh. Yeah.

Now again, these ARE different things for many reasons. You may even say this bit of evidence is a bit of a stretch-- But, hold on!

Acheron in Honkai Star Rail is an emanator of Nihility. Raiden Shogun, her counterpart in Genshin Impact, is the Archon of Eternity. Extremely similar at face value, but come with very different duties.

*Whether he was or wasn't doesn't really matter for the theory as the fact he chose that still says a lot about the man.

3. Mr. Reca is a Memokeeper Memokeepers canonically give up their mortal bodies to exist as memories so that they may travel the world as efficient as possible with the goal of collecting memories. I can't find confirmation on whether they also give up their memories of their once mortal existence, but whether that's canon or not it's very easy to imagine a Memokeeper could do that to themself.

This leads me to the major point of this theory: If we were to take away Welt's bonds, what would be left? A goddamn nerd. Have you seen how this guy talks about his favourite shows?

So here's the tea. We know our Welt Yang is from an entirely different dimension, meaning there's very much space for a Welt of this dimension to exist as well. I propose that the man may be who Mr. Reca used to be before becoming a Memokeeper.

Here's what I'm imagining: Welt is a very old man, so perhaps long before the events of the game there existed a man who worked passionately in filmmaking. One day for one reason or another he chose to let go off his mortal life and any possible bonds he had, and became an immortal Memokeeper-- Now without bonds, he was stripped to have only one passion: films.

Its certainly an interesting fanfic 👍👍 There's a lot of holes in the theory and in the end it doesn't really matter-- Welt and Mr. Reca would probably never figure out this connections between them and even if the did I doubt they'd care too much.

But it came to my brain and I'm making it everyone else's problem.

TLDR; What if Welt had a counterpart in this universe and that counterpart was Mr. Reca before he basically de-welted himself.

okay y'all seemed to like the last one so here's a few more Horizon 3 thoughts:

Aloy won’t die. It would completely upend the series’ themes and just be really nihilistic.

Since Nemesis is a gestalt entity I think it’s a safe bet that we’ll see Sam Witwer, Carrie-Anne Moss, etc again. I’m curious how they’re going to do it because at least structurally, it’s basically a reaper. Maybe it’ll use different Avatars when communicating like the Leviathan in ME3. 

It's gonna take some work to make a flashback/dream/vision not contrived but I would love to see Varl and Rost again. I think we deserve that.

Minerva is gonna have its work cut out for it blocking access to both the dormant Faro Swarm and the ZD terraforming system. 

I wouldn’t be surprised if Nemesis has some sort of corruption function that becomes the equivalent of the corruption in HZD. It would be a really fun tech showcase if GG uses Zenith nanotech for machine corruption and leans into mechanical body horror.

If we’re going to Ban-Ur I really really hope they do the work to make the Banuk less problematic and more fleshed out as a culture. A quasi-Spartan society absolutely would not survive in an extreme environment, *especially* without megafauna to hunt. The Banuk characters are lovely and well-written; they deserve a society as well thought out as the Utaru or Carja. I’m honestly fine if there’s retcons or revamps to the cultural lore because the whole “outsider barges in and becomes chief” is rooted in racist, colonial tropes and we just don’t really need that imo.

The most recent footage of Death Stranding 2 (also running on Decima) has me SO excited for the visuals. GG’s gonna knock it out. The facial rendering and animation that Kojima Productions are doing looks industry-peak and I’m sure GG’s gonna match that. Aloy’s Gay Panic™️ scene on the beach in HBS is already top-tier nonverbal storytelling through animation. Digital Foundry actually just posted a really cool tech breakdown of the current Decima engine. I’m especially excited about the environmental stuff. The ocean simulations in HFW are already incredible and I hope they increase verticality in the world. I can’t wait to see the Sacred Lands in current gen graphics. 

I really love Kotallo’s DIY arm and it’s so so important to his development but Beta and Gaia now have access to Zenith nanotech, maybe give your buddy a sick upgrade hmm?

Speaking of, I can’t wait to see Beta come into her own. She’s one of the best parts of HFW and Aloy’s character absolutely shines in a sibling dynamic. 

I wouldn’t get your hopes up for a romance mechanic. Everyone’s feelings on that aside, it would be really odd from a game development perspective to just overhaul part of how the narrative develops Aloy’s character in the last act of the story. Yeah, there are flashpoints but I would argue that the presence of choice in Horizon is smoke and mirrors- cosmetic at best. Kentucky Route Zero (which you should play) does something similar where the player is given a certain amount of control over the substance of individual conversations and scenarios and it does absolutely nothing to alter the plot, by design. I think it’s the same here - this isn’t really a choice-based RPG, the flashpoints don’t really affect anything plot-wise or for Aloy’s character development. Olin is still out of the story, Nil lives, Regalla still dies one way or another. Aloy’s character development is pretty firmly on rails (think Jin Sakai, not Shepard - you get to guide some momentary character reactions but that’s it). I don’t think HBS is a testing ground either - If they were gonna introduce a romance mechanic I think they’d just do it, and not spend two years making a direct continuation of HFW’s main quest and establishing a specific romance hard-baked into the plot, complete with multiple leitmotifs for the character relationship (which is something they haven’t done before afaik) just to introduce a side quest mechanic coming in 5 years. I genuinely can’t think of any game or dev that has beta tested a major alteration to upcoming game mechanics that way - it doesn’t really make any sense in terms of developer resources, and these games are extremely time-consuming to make. I know this is a thing a bunch of people want and I can totally empathize with that! I just think it’s probably not on the table. 

I would bet money the series will bookend itself and the epilogue will involve a) the naming of Zo and Varl’s kid and b) Lis’ pendant. 

Mostly I'm just looking forward to being surprised. One of my favorite things that Horizon does is use carefully established elements in the world to pull the plot in unexpected directions and keeping the world grounded while they lean into speculative science fiction. I can't wait to see what Guerrilla is cooking up

remember Victory Rosa ? i didnt feel satisfied with her design at all, so i gave it another shot ! i like how this turned out even if its still a draft ;3

heres some notes i wrote down ;

- so the black dress is like a combo of hate and illussion magic i think, i figured maybe Ami isnt a basic bitch qnd would like somd bit fo flair now that it and Rosa is thd princess of the world wahahaha

- the angel because i thought of her presenting herself as the savior of humanity as she never saw herself as evil, but no matter how she presents she still looks damn creepy

- the angel also based off of the one from the deltarune symbol prophecy waow

- I also lessened The monster accessories as i feel like she doesnt want to touch them even as a trophy because shes monsterphobic 💀

(She only stole Asgores stuff because its symbolic and undynes spear for convenient weapon)

Victory!Rosa in the first draft looked so evil which i think considering her lore doesn't track well as she (AND Ami) always saw the purging of monsters as a very justified and noble act, and they're not sorry for anything... they want to be someone the humans can trust, but someone to submit their control to at the same time, because so much of what Bete Rosa wants is control, so yea

She also has an illusion form!

The Angel sometimes uses an illusion to go back to Betty's old appearance, its to look friendlier and trustworthy to outsiders, but she can't hold this form for long

it's the only way you'll get to see old Rosa again honestly

Rosa is much more cheerful and sweet whenever she shows up like this or takes over, unlike previously where she had to mask her constant terror under a cheerful smiling facade, here she's GENUINELY happy and relieved because she's eradicated the cause of her fear; the monsters

and nothing will hurt her ever again

NOW INTRODUCING.... THE CRITTERS !!!

Technically Corvid is still a part of an au, i really like everyone's designs so i guess its just like a weird little au that are also kinda ocs?? Idk. Im still tagging it as the animatronicfication au and using the other ccs names but im completely separating wilbur from Corvid.

The one that probably changed the most is simp LMAO i just went back to his old design that was inspired by Luna (@starrixle's transfem simpbur turned oc) and Spencer is such a fitting name in my mind i literally can not imagine him with a different name *bwomp*

Also I'm working on refs for the other characters associated with the respective critters! I wanna finish them all and dump them into one post and I'll link it here when I'm done.

ANYWAY INFODUMP TIME

Before we go into individual characters i want to say that this is absolutely Minecraft. Like. The world is built off of Minecraft lore yk !!!! The overworld will still be called the overworld but it's basically just earth, with more magic and humanoid species! Along with supernatural creatures and cryptids n stuff :D also with more advanced tech considering Corvid exists pFF

Spencer for the most part kinda was like he is in canon or whatever. She used to lean more towards incel ideology because she was REALLY insecure and uncomfortable with herself for the longest time. Despite that, Spencer and Adrianne (egirl) started dating when they were 17, his unhealthy obsession with her was only fueled by her unhealthy attachment to him. They needed each other and it wasn't good for either of them. Spencer had developed horrible separation anxiety which only made things worse. Over time Adrianne became suffocated by his constant neediness, overwhelming insecurity, short temper and lack of contribution to household chores. It pained her to leave, but things needed to change. It wasn't until the breakup that Spencer met Shepard, who was his first irl friend in a long time. They met when they were around 22/23, at first Spencer just used Shepard as a distraction from Adrianne, especially since he was surprised that they wanted to even be his friend in the first place. But after a while he genuinely started to enjoy their company, plus they offered him really good advice and helped him through a gender/sexuality crisis. Eventually they became partners! Maybe not romantically, as they're both aromantic, but life partners nonetheless.

OH and i did make Spencer white/Salvadoran. Her mom is the first generation from immigrant parents while her dad is British; And her dad's younger brother is Adam's dad! He's also an ex-christian, he left due to religious trauma and moved to America to escape his family hA

Spencer's also a no sabo kid LMAO (he knows some words/phrases but other than that he cant speak Spanish to save his life)

ALSO ALSO. Oh my god i could talk about Spence all day LMAO but i made him a werewolf !!!! Hes SOO jealous of Adam because she wanted the cat genes but instead got bitten and turned into a werewolf as a teenager. She's done a pretty good job at hiding it from her family so Shepard's the only one who knows.

I already dumped everything about Adam into that other post, so I don't really have much else to add. HOWEVER !! Him and Spence are cousins now :3 Adam doesn't get to meet Spencer in person until he moves to America with Charlie & co, but he does follow her socials with his secret accounts that his parents don't know about. The only reason they know they're cousins is because Spencer's dad told her so and she reached out! Much to the dismay of Adam's parents but they've secretly kept in touch online.

Keith's pretty much stayed the same apart from a slight design revamp. Although I've made him a little older since originally i made him look young. But then I decided hes a dad so i started drawing him older for the asks pFF he also has a hooked nose now! In case it's not obvious. Keith got married to Jean VERY young, they were maybe 17/18 in human years. It was an arranged marriage and their only goal was to have an heir to the throne. Well they did, they had two kids, the eldest being a boy named Lune and the youngest being a girl named Sunny, who's the would be heir. Until Jean took both the kids and left. It was completely unprompted and left everyone in the kingdom confused, especially Keith. Sure, they had a loveless marriage and maybe he was insufferable at times, but he wanted to make it work if not for the kids then for the kingdom! But its been almost a year since she left, he's lost hope in ever finding her. Keith desperately wants his kids back, not because Sunny is the rightful heir— though that is part of it—but he loves them both dearly. He misses them the most.

Wilfred has pretty much stayed the same as well! I did give him a grey tshirt and darker hair to further distance his design from wilbur though. Hes just as unhinged and immoral as he used to be !!!! Nothing has changed aside from appearance actually.

Tobi also pretty much stayed the same except for its now got an orange jumper and lighter brown hair pFF although i do now have a story for him! Tobi was found by Alejandro in a storage auction, he managed to sell a lot of pretty valuable things from there but Tobi stood out, obviously, so he kept it. Alejandro is a travel vlogger and lives in an RV with his friends: Tomas, Philip and Charles. His friends just call him Alex. Anyway, they go from town to town trying local food, visiting tourists traps and vlogging the journey! While doing that they also try to find out how to get Tobi's memories back and possibly turn him human again, if they even can. So far they haven't had much luck but maybe one day...

Corvid was created as the backup singer and lead guitarist of the first all animatronic band! Brought to you by Beloved Entertainment! The other members include lead singer Ranboo Beloved, keytarist Tommy Raccoon, and bassist James Tomcat. Located in Ranboo's Mega Pizzaplex, the only location in the world (so far). Corvid adopts a showman personality while on stage, hes charismatic and such a heartthrob, very popular with the ladies. Off stage he's very calm and soft spoken, he's rather shy but still manages to be a flirt and a tease. Lightly poking fun at his bandmates, coworkers and even guests at times. He's definitely a fan favorite for a reason!

every ship needs a mermaid au

basically uhhh golden is a sailor with the animatronics and cami is a mermaid who lured golden and almost killed him if it werent bc his team were there to snap him out of it. then they meet each other again bc owynn (who is out to get them) kidnapped cami and tried to use her luring-song-power-thingy against his enemies. so when owynn catches up to them, golden notices that cami is trapped in the ship and frees her in the middle of the chaotic fight. bc hey she may be evil but thats kinda just her nature, its not rlly cool to kidnap ppl.

the animatroincs go in their merry way after defeating owynn but one night golden realizes cami is in their ship now!?? she explains that mermaids are only in coastal waters and not the fucking open ocean where owynn brought her. she has no idea where she is or how to get home. so she grabbed onto the animatronics' ship bc she figured that they would eventually go back the same way they came from, and thus would pass through the mermaid waters where she had tried to kill golden, aka her home. golden takes pity on her and decides to let her stay without telling the rest of the team bc..well she did try to kill him lol, theyll probably think she has lured him again and is going to attack them. so now they get to spend time together and fall in love yippieeeee (she apologizes for the attempted murder and thanks him for saving her dont worry)

uhh design notes!! i based cami's design on a dugong, an aquatic mammal that is believed to be the animal sailors confused for mermaids, intead of a fish bc im annoying. dugongs dont have dorsal fins, but i decided to add some representing their forelimbs bc i thought it looked cool lol. the green is algae growing on her skin! to add some color. the little green thing in her hair is supposed to be a seashell thats holding up her hair, and its the color of her og hair. made her little ponytail look like a fin bc i thought it looked cool. her nose is based on the general shape of a dugong's face, and with their big ol circular nostrils which i find adorable. dugongs have limited vision so it doesnt bother cami to cover her eyes. and yea, no eyebrows, kinda makes her look stupid djskdj

i dont have a lot to say abt goldens design, i loosley based it off of a pirate, even though he isnt one. he loves music so he always carries a guitar with him. the green matches with cami and the yellow is based off his og sweater vest. and uhh i think thats it lol thats all the rambles i have for today

o yea and i gave some of them new abilities cuz i felt like it and sometimes their design was fundamentally different enough from the original that itd be better to have new abilities than try to figure out how the redesign would use their canon ability (like redesigned toodles), if i dont mention an ability thats kept in the redesign its probably been replaced with another one, and im calling canon twisteds by CT!(name) and the redesigned twisteds by RT!(name)

twisted toodles: third worst jumpscare

- Can now see as far as CT!Pebble can. As slow as CT!Finn when roaming, but rolls REALLY fast like a bowling ball when chasing. The rest of her stats are the same.

- A little bit before her roll starts, she splashes some ichor on the ground near the player (to basically tell them the direction of her roll). It's close enough that they'll be able to see it even in a blackout without light upgrades, but far enough that you'd have to pay a bit of attention to notice it.

- When she's chasing a player but ends up going out of a specific range from them (the range is a VERY big circle), she stops, repositions herself really fast and rolls again to run over the player. If she hits a player, she keeps rolling until she hits a wall. Then, when she hits a wall she immediately loses aggro, gets blinded and can't move for like 2 seconds before getting back up to roam again. If she doesn't hit a wall while she's chasing a player, she keeps rolling.

twisted tisha: figure from doors real

- She's slower than average now. She still cleans floors, but now she cleans ceilings too!! The rest of her stats are the same.

- Can extend her legs really far, to the point where she can touch the ceiling with her hands. Leading to her being able to look above walls and down at you.

- She can now feel the vibrations your footsteps make as long as you're near her, even when you're walking and she's really high up. She won't attack you immediately, she'll just pause her cleaning for a bit and look in the direction of the vibrations (there's a short delay between her noticing the vibrations and her looking). If she sees you, she'll start chasing you like a normal twisted while retracting her legs to be at her normal height.

disurf

- Is as fast as CT!Toodles but is always hiding in a corner.

- Runs away from players when RT!Teagan starts attacking, bringing RT!Teagan with her to hide in another corner. Disurf actively dodges players as much as she can while still keeping her speed, so she sometimes ends up running into players making them lose a heart. Disurf keeps running away until her attention span runs out, at that point she's gonna start looking for the nearest corner to hide in.

- Her line of sight defaults to where Disurf's line of sight is. When Disurf sees a player, RT!Teagan looks in the same direction as her for like 1 second. If RT!Teagan doesn't see anyone, she goes back to her default line of sight.

- Only attacks when she has direct line of sight with a player. She attacks by throwing twisted Cupbits at you. You can dodge them by hiding behind walls, or, if she's far enough, by stepping aside so that the Cupbit flies past you.

cupbits

- They're average speed, never break when thrown, and have a shorter than average attention span. They have no special abilities, only a regular attack.

- They die after 7 seconds by falling apart and turning into pure ichor, then that ichor gets smaller and smaller and disappears. There's no limit on how many twisted Cupbits can be spawned at once.

AND:

- They're a hivemind, if one of them sees you, all of them do. When you get seen by one of them:

All twisted Cupbits have their attention spans refreshed, but only if the player that was seen is the same player they're chasing.

- Disurf will avoid running in your direction and will instead do a full 180 and run the other way (even if there's players in that direction).

EVEN LONGER RANT UNDER CUT but i explain my twisted designs, the actual reasons to y i dont like the canon designs, and other shit i guess idk (in that order)

my twisted design process (for all twisteds):

i realllly didnt like the way i handled the twisted designs in literally every single one of my redesigns (except for poppy, box and lamp i guess??) so i made some rules for how to make them so its not just "make them big and sharp and splash them with ichor", its canon divergent yes but its really cool i think so its staying:

the twisted versions of every character are mutated versions of themselves that lean so very hard into their main personality trait or role in a very negative way, to the point that theyre almost like mean-spirited parodies of themselves (carries over to how their special twisted abilities work too), theyre waay more likely to get violent too (u kno, so that theyre twisted versions of themselves)

patches of ichor appear at spots that changed from the original design (the ichor comes first, then the mutations), or their clothes absorbed it cuz the ichor kinda acts like water that makes worse stains, or they got filled up by ichor in some way

i headcanon that these versions of the twisteds would sometimes reenact episodes from the tv show or some of the routines theyd go through while the place was still running, but waaaaay more tense and sometimes depressing cuz of their mutations and very big personality shift

most likely reasons to y i rlly dont like the canon designs:

i looked at some more fanart and i legit cant tell if i actually dont like the character designs or if i just dont like the games artstyle wat the hell ;-; LIKE THEY LEGIT LOOK PRETTY GOOD WHEN OTHER PEOPLE DRAW THEM!!

BUT I FINALLY FOUDN THE WORDS TO PROPERLY EXPLAIN Y I AHTE THE CANON DESIGNS SO MUCH!!! its cuz a lot of them feel very lazy and generic, like the only thing making them stand out is the fact that theyre a dandys world character and not just a character, like theyre simple yes thats cool and that works really well for a character like pebble and sprout, but most of them are TOO simple cuz they usually have like only 1 range of color in their design (tisha is blue to white, brightney is dark red to white, shelly is brown to cream, while sprout is red to white and green, and rodger is black to brown and purple)

but some of them have things in their design that just dont work (finn, poppy, brightney), maybe its cuz stuff are in bad places (poppys bow on her head) or they just dont look good (finn), wat makes this even worse is that some characters like tisha and brightney and shrimpo have patterns to try and make their design more interesting i gues?? but it just doesnt work and genuinely makes it feel more generic :(

so i think the real problem with dandys worlds designs is a few things:

1. that theres not enough diversity in their colors if u get wat i mean, like seriously most of the skins do this (having different colors to make sure not everything is visually samey)!!!

imo the biggest example of "not enough color diversity" is vee and astro and their skins, like they look SO MUCH BETTER when theyre not just "green, black" and "purple to cyan, black, white" (i wouldve put teagans skin in here too if there was just slightly more yellow), it doesnt even have to be colors that are on the opposite sides of the color wheel, just visually pleasing color combos!!!

2. just better structuring (if thats wat u call it) i guess??

like finn, yes his character design fits the having enough color diversity problem, but it just doesnt work, i think its cuz of how saturated the cyan and orange are, making them not mesh well together, like if the orange was a darker less saturated color then maybe the colors could work, but it could also just be his clothes, like switch out his life vest for anything else thats related to marine stuff (maybe a swimsuit with flipper feet??) and his pants for something darker

3. not following their theme very well, or theyre pretty lacking in roles so their theming is very vague

i think shelly is the biggest example of this, like why is she a shell, i get that shells can be fossils too but honestly just make her a skeletal dinosaur at that point or one of the many modern descendants of dinosaurs (like birds and crocodiles and turtles), her twisted design is rlly good tho!!! its my favorite design in the entire game and its honestly the coolest one too

and now for 3 characters that i think have problems in most of these (that i havent already mentioned):

glisten is an example of another color problem that i didnt mention cuz i felt like this was a problem that only glisten had, the colors not being the right color (idk how else to name it ;-;), he looks SO GOOD in fanart but hes just meh in the official game even when compared to his original picture as a dhmis oc, and im pretty sure its cuz the pink parts of his design arent saturated or dark enough, leading to the yellow parts of his design blending in more easily with the bow (look at the black and white version as a reference on that, the brightness of the pink and yellow are very close to each other meaning ud have a harder time trying to tell them apart, its easier to tell when colored yes but their brightness still carries over leading to some color blending (idk another word for it srry), not as much blending as in the black and white version but still a subtle detail u could pick up on), and his blush, im gonna be honest with u i just think it looks bad and i dont even know y, just eyeshadow would look waay better

boxten oh god, they do kinda follow the color diversity thing but the way hes designed is just not it, he doesnt come off as shy in his design or the dialogues i saw or even animation, hes more of a softie than anything, i only knew that he was shy when i read his info card

poppy follows the color diversity thing the most imo, pink cyan and yellow are colors that i think work really well together, but the structure of her design and how well her design fits her role doesnt work either, actually im pretty sure i fixed her design structure in my second redesign (second batch) of her, all i did was move the bow from being weirdly placed on her head to being tied around her waist like glisten and mess around with the colors, now with her design fitting her role, i think the bubble is a good choice!! it fits playful way better than energetic i think but it still works, my only problem is with her clothes, it does not give off energetic vibes, i honestly think shed have a better design if she wore the clothes professional tag players and maaaybe mountain bikers wear

other shit idk:

honestly i wanted to include all the mains here too (as of writing, shelly has a complete redesign (more changed than the lamp) and vee and astro are just light redesigns, im not done with sprout and im never redesigning pebble hes already perfect) but the release date for the new update dropped as soon as i was gonna start digitizing the twisted tea sets design, actually i think i went overboard on like ALL of the redesigns to the point where i should prob start calling them rewrites or very loosely inspired instead, oops i did NOT mean to do that

Q&A Time!

I haven't done a Q&A in a while so let's bang out some asks from the askbox and answer them.

Without really saying much, things have kinda gotten better, but I am def in a hole right now from multiple pretty saddening things happening to me all within a month. I'm having a lot of issues drawing but I don't think it's burnout-more likely I'm just a sad lump. I'm sure I'll improve though once the year finishes us.

Kind of...I plan to make either a epilogue for Revenge of Pike Knight or an entirely different comic about his process of letting go but also forgiving himself for her actions. He never goes back to being sweet bandana waddle dee but she does manage to loosen up as time goes on.

Mago gets stripped of any and all power that the average doomer doesn't have. So yea. He's a little guy you could punt like a football.

It's honestly really hard to say what my favorite food is, as I am someone who struggles with food (I blame it on the fact I almost died of starvation as a toddler and it ruined my entire digestive system but who knows it could be crappy genetics too). However here are some foods I enjoy that people may like! (Recipe Links are in the names)

Banoffee Pie: I usually like it without the bananas though, they are too soft texture-wise for me so it's really more Toffee Pie. Just remember if you are making the toffee from scratch that it is basically like making a bomb and you HAVE to make sure timing is correct otherwise pressure will build and either you will die or your kitchen will get a nice brown coat of sugar-paint (Personal experience here).

Chocolate Souffle: I always have this for my birthday so it's a fond treat. It IS a souffle though, so it's very hard to make if you do not have the experience.

Quiche: I love quiche, it's something that is eggy but also a pie and I can eat it any time of the day. I usually like just cheese in it but meats and some small greens are also good.

And finally- Zucchini Brownies (Or just walnut brownies): Which I actually haven't had in a while but man am I craving them. They sound weird but you can't taste the zucchini and it brings a nice dampness to the brownie.

When Powehi was little his sisters loved to tease him even though he would give little to no reaction. They seemed to have a decent relationship as children but I would not be surprised if Powehi doesn't really like his sisters a whole lot when he's an adult. They're still as annoying as before but now they act more like their father (a pet peeve of his). However they are still his sisters at the end of the day, so he puts up with them.

As someone who worked with various animals including tarantulas for a while- I love them. I love their fuzz and their little claws and paw pads and the fact they're chill (but at the same time very anxious) little dudes. I think they get a bad rap but they're nice.

If I remember correctly, the death of Meta Knight comic was originally artist trolling. Yes, I made the comic to purposefully get a reaction from you all and laugh evilly while you cried over his death. However that comic is the backbone of Nextgen and I'm glad I made it.

Yes, I will get to that art eventually. I'm just taking my time for reasons. I will/am also uploading art that is old but was never released on my account. Eventually once all the old art is posted new art will start up again.

Meta works his way up the ladder to become a Reaper. Not really spoilers but his design will be brought back soon. But yes, he can still see his friends with the help of Morpho. Also Galaxia shattered in the death comic, so she's long gone as well but returns to Meta in the afterlife at some point.

Dedede ain't dead yet! He's still kicking. Meta would have to meet him in the mortal realm as a little buggy.

Yes, however I highly doubt I will ever cover them in Nextgen, so it's up to fan interpretation at the end of the day.

Yes he does, he takes the form of a beetle much like Morpho takes the form of a butterfly in the mortal realm and gets to visit his friends when he can.

I imagine if the situation calls for it he does use his tongue. However he mainly chooses the sword and his fabric arms.

In Nextgen I like to imagine Kirby's copy abilities change as they grow up instead of someone upgrading them for him, hence why they look different when he uses copy abilities.

Powehi has always had some of Marx's powers and grew up with them normally. However as he gets older he begins to really not like them because it makes him different in a way others may be intimidated by.

In Nextgen Chilly and Magolor never got nor will get married. They're off again on again exes because it is way funnier that way and honestly aligns with the one manga more.

Magolor and Chilly met during the events of Star Allies, and their relationship/personalities are kinda based off that manga in a minor way.

Arthur showed up out of nowhere on Castle Dedede's entrance and ever since then Kirby has taken care of him.

In a surprising turn of events, no. The waddle dee from Kirby 64 in Nextgen is actually Bandana's/Pike's older brother who is the sole reason Bandana/Pike went down the path she did. The stories that were told about the adventure and the heroes his older brother worked with got her to be inspired enough to actually work alongside Dedede and later Kirby and the others.

Because that belt buckle is the last remaining piece of who he used to be. His robes are gone along with everything else but that buckle. He is now nude.

All Noddies are biologically and magically tied to the Dream Fountain which is the thing that gives them their dreams and tiredness. The only way Castella can have nightmares is if there's some kind of tampering with the Dream Fountain that effects it negatively.

I don't think canon Bandana would enjoy the fact I assassinated his character for some plot lmao. But for the sake of the funny just imagine them interacting like that one sonic and shadow clip from Sonic Adventure 2.

The cycle of matter only affects Dark and Light matter/ anything in between that. Matter like that usually will never see a reaper in their life because their souls almost never make it to the afterlife and instead are in a constant cycle of reincarnation, hence the name. Meta Knight was merely lucky enough to have Morpho break the rules for him just like how Necrodeus broke the rules for him when he was Gala and took his soul to the afterlife. Normally living things are taken by reapers to the afterlife when they die though. While non-matter characters like Dedede, Magolor, Marx, Pike, etc will be able to have a one way ticket to the afterlife, I'm keeping it vague for Kirby as not to spoil future ideas.

The Nomads Au! Those feral things i mentioned that one time!

(SORRY this is soooo cringe! in my opinion pls give it a shot and don’t unfollow😭)

I mentioned awhile back in the au summary about a distant distant cousin to the trolls who found Branch and I just…never explained them EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE A HUGE PART TO THE STORY….in a way.

Basically I was like what if I just made a species of feral trolls and yea that’s basically them. (They get alot of troll headcannon design Stuff like tails and claws while the trolls look like the movie versions )

They look sorta similar but not really to troll. They have huge fangs that will sometimes stick out there mouth, the teeth are a mismatch of sharp and pointy fangs while being crooked (huge carnivors! the only reason they let all these trolls stay is cause they help them hunt) their hair consist of some desaturated colors or a scale of hair colors from brown to black. There outfits look similar to branches style of clothing, plus random genre themed clothing from some of the trolls ( like a battered crop top from a rock troll a beat up bow tie from a classical troll, you get the gist) there hair is long and look like they could use it to cover there entire body it’s also a disheveled mess with leaves bugs and twigs in it(it’s there for camouflage), they have retractable claws, some random fur sticking off there elbows, no noses, pointy ears, tails, silted pupils that makes them look terrifying in the dark.

Personality wise they differ (cause free will and stuff) but it usually consists of anger, hunger, annoyed, absolutely batshit crazy, i don’t get it, lets eat it, a lot of paranoia, will run after you on all fours, will growl bite snarl and hiss at you. There like piranhas after food when they hunt. They would totally hunt bergans ( they’re like reverse trolls they eat huge things instead of vice versa) they will eat things a thousand times bigger than them. They act like feral animals.

The reason they exist in the AU is because I need a reason for Branch to be absolutely feral. One of them was totally going to eat Branch once got a good look at him and said “this is my brother now” continued to pick him up like a mama cat with her baby and scurryed home on all four cackling like a gremlin( no one cared they brought home a troll as long as he helps he’s fine, or else they will eat him) then more trolls came and the same policy was installed. They basically filled Branch with fear and aggression over the years (I also made them so branch could have at least one thing that would care about him for 20 years (who will be explained later) because he needs SOMETHING GOOD IN HIS LIFE!)

I’m calling them feral (trolls?) cause honestly no one knows what they are.

AIGHT, it's time for another oc rant :]

BackStory: so our story begins with a tween boy by he name of Otis Puzzles. Otis is the older brother of Aurther Puzzles and Lilly Puzzles, now altho Aurther often spent most of his time watching TV in his room that didn't stop Otis from hanging with his little bro! He would often pull Aurther out of his room forcing him to play Crash Bandicoot, Sonic, or Mario Cart (Mr Puzzles didn't realize it at the time but spending time with his big brother was on the healthiest things he has/will EVER done/do in his life) As for Otis's little sister Lilly they would often play outside to get her playing various make believe games with each other. Now the house hold that Otis and his younger siblings will send a very healthy one, there father was abusive towards Otis (verbally) and Aurther (physically), the only one what are the abuse was there sweet little sister Lilly... Altho who in the right mind of hurt such a small child as her? Now the years of constantly having to hear their parents fight mixed with being physically abused by his father (plus another Major League traumatic event of which I'll be explaining in a separate oc rant) eventually led to Aurther cutting off his head and replacing it with a TV~ now nobody had been in the garage for Aurther was doing this (thankfully) but unfortunately for both Aurther and Otis, Otis so happened to walk in only a couple minutes after Aurther cut off his head, no the garage where he was doing this as a really dark so Otis couldn't fully see what it happened you said all he saw slowly rolling toward the light of the door, was this little brother's severed head. This cause Otis to FREAK OUT and run away from home. He ended up running to a dear friends house where he stayed for a month before he worked up enough money from his job at Wendy's to buy his own small house. Now in order to raise that little extra bit of money so he can pay his rent he ended up started creating music, surprisingly enough his music popped off and got incredibly popular slowly leaving after many many years for me coming up popular music star! This leads us to current Otis, the incredibly famous and popular music star who instead of using his riches for himself he uses it on others~

Design details:

One, he's black, this design choices laid on by the fact that child Mr puzzles as we see in the show is a black figure so I was thinking what if I just made them black? So I did :]. 2, this is the add-on to the fact that he is black but I was thinking what if he showed a black light on him would he glow? So I gave him neon clothes so if he ever did have a black light on stage he would physically glow~. 3, now after he ran away from home he ended up becoming resentful toward his father so he changed his last name from being Puzzle to being Star, which is why he has a constant star theme throughout his outfit. 4, the reason there are so many holes in his outfits is it inspired by Michael Jackson and the fact that Michael Jackson got many girls being, how do put this gently..., horny towards the way Michael Jackson moved on stage.... Yea...

Personality: silly, smart, protective, fatherly, calm and collected, crafty (as in art and crafts), inclusive, loving, emotionally capable, capable, and amazing at singing people to sleep.

Relationships:

Smg4: now this is going to be a reoccurring theme but, Otis ended up like basically adopting the entire Smg gang becoming a father figure for almost the entire gang. Now Smg4 and Otis in particular are incredibly close with each other often going out and doing dumb little bother some things like playing baseball or getting ice cream :]

Smg3: now no matter how much love Otis give his he REFUSES to let Otis be his father figure instead often to become incredibly grumpy and moody around Otis (although he refuses to believe it he does generally view Otis as a father figure)

Meggy: same as many others, they both veiw eatch other as father and daughter :]

Boopkins: ⬆️ Dido (fun fact! Otis often like to give Boopkins singing classes to help with his singing skills)

Tari: Tari is that one slightly angsty teen he refuses to go outside, Otis although often forces them outside lafmo

Mario: no the Mario can be quite a handful for Otis, Otis still handles Mario perfectly as a father figure and as a protector towards him, he also keeps Mario out of trouble a lot of the time lafmo

Mr Puzzles: the two are HEAVY RIVALS, Otis hateing Mr Puzzles due to the fact that he kind of imprisoned his "children" and his food like TV worlds and Mr Puzzels haring Otis due to the fact that Otis protects the Smg gang (they're both completely unaware that they are brothers btw)

@strange0-0storm's Smg8: now out of the entire Smg gang Smg8 is the one that Oris views MOST as his child. Otis holds Smg8 VERY dear and close to his heart, he also often ivites Smg8 to make song with him :]

Smg-08: Otis REALLY doesn't like her due to her being a creation of Mr puzzles... But he allows her to stick around to the fact that she seems completely friendly

Extra info:Otis knows and sings in a multitude of languages, he also likes to work with vocaloid such as Hatsnu Miku :]. He is incredibly unselfish and he donates most of his money to the people who work for him or to various other music artists or to various abuse helplines.

ya’ll i just had the most humbling experience of my life today so i’m gonna talk about it. for context i am in a school that is 6-12th grade, and there’s like a total of like 24 kids in the whole building (this is because it’s specifically a setting for students with mental disabilities and disorders- and is small on purpose to reduce stress levels) so some of my classes are mixed with little 7th grade boys. specifically my gym/health class because i am the “teachers assistant” for some reason (i did not sign up for this somebody save me /j) and basically i was just minding my business with my aarmau meemeows on my desk because a lot of people carry around plushies as like a support item, so i carry around my aaron and aphmau ones on days where i’m having a hard time and stuff. and this little 4 foot boy taps me on the shoulder and goes “those are from aphmau” and i had a fucking HEART ATTACK. i just stared at him and went “yea. you watch her?” and he got all excited. it was very cute. so we started chatting about it and i was like “oh who’s your favorite character of hers?” and he said ein and i was like interesting choice but ok- and we started talking about aarmau since we both knew a decent amount about them n’ stuff- or at least i thought we did. i was fully convinced we were on the same page but then he started talking about what videos he watches and it hit me like a truck. he watches jess’ CURRENT content. he watches COCOMAU. WHICH MAKES SENSE SINCE HES LIKE A SMALL CHILD BUT FOR SOME REASON I DIDNT REALIZE THATS WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT UNTIL HE MENTIONED LIKE A RECENT VIDEO. so i was just sitting there hiding my absolute whiplash while he asked me if i’d seen any of the videos he was talking about- and i confessed to him that i only like her older stuff from like 2016 and he was like “oh. okay.” HE DIDNT LOOK UPSET OR ANYTHING BUT I STILL FELT A BIT BAD. nothing was worse then when i felt like i was aging rapidly though. like oh my god i am an out of touch elderly woman. pleaseeeee someone put me out of my misery or something because that was so depressing.

but the worst part was when class was almost over and i took out my wallet so i could go buy some oreos from the school store once the period ended or something- and i forgot that i have my mcd aaron keychain hooked onto my damn wallet- so i half expected this kid to like notice it and bring it up in front of everyone. which would’ve been kinda embarrassing if i had to explain to everyone in my gym class who mcd aaron was. but alas he didn’t say anything. and it took me a second to realize the reasons he didn’t recognize the damn keychain was because mcd aaron’s design is DRASTICALLY different from cocomau aaron’s design- SO THE LITTLE BOY HAD NO IDEA WHO IT WAS. On her first day at Cognito Inc.,, she was willing to help and investigate Reagan as if she were an experiment.

Sometimes she offered to help her do very basic things,, offered her TOO MUCH coffee,, followed her around,, etc.

Until Reagan obviously got tired of this and confronted Colette,, asking why she won't leave her alone.

Colette told her she just wanted to help her with her problems,, since she looks tired and frustrated almost all the time. And she thought if she helped her constantly,, it would make her feel better and make everything easier for her (Plus,, she thought that Reagan would be more open about her problems that way)

Reagan tells her she understands she had good intentions,, but she didn't go about it the right way and it only made her feel worse.

Colette apologizes for this;; with her promising Reagan she won't pester her to talk about her problems again,, and will wait until she's comfortable with her.

Currently,, the two are on good terms and even consider each other as friends (Mostly thanks to Brett,, since he wanted them to get along from the start lmao)

mika: ehhhh not particularly. like, she's not terrible, just not a huge math person overall.

gabriel: yea, like normal amount. decent at doing basic calculations in his head, pretty quick at memorizing phone numbers and stuff.

mika: yes and YES. loves both, especially giving, and is a really good gift picker actually, even with people she only vaguely knows. as for ideal gift for her - she doesn't care for material value (in fact, she very much doesn't like getting something expensive because she's probably going to break and or lose it eventually lol), and very much prefers small things for the dopamine hit. you can never go wrong with some sort of food treat (especially if it's something more exotic, like some random foreign candy or stuff like that), or anything music related. OH ACTUALLY, ideal gift and she will love you forever: mixtape. like, genuinely personalized, hand-picked songs, self-designed tracklist or cover, anything like that. spotify playlist just doesn't hit the same.

gabriel: depends on the other person. very ehhhh with people he doesn't care much about, especially the receiving part, he's not a huge fan of faking gratefulness for some random shit someone thought he would be into. but very much yes on both accounts with people he loves. he's a very thoughtful gift giver and will definitely remember that random small thing you mentioned months ago in a throwaway sentence. ideal gift: some fancy scotch, or a book (but you gotta hit his taste right for that one)
