Okay. I only saw like 30 seconds of the new TMNT trailer and was cackling already. The claymation is kinda throwing me off but I’m gonna have to go see it for sure. 😁 🐢💙🐢❤️🐢💜🐢🧡🐀💖
But one thing… wtf is up with the voices of Donnie and Splinter?! I’m guessing since Splinter was originally from Japan in his origin story is why he sounds like that?

I know this is probably going to sound weird but hang in there while I try explain this😭
Are we like ver gonna see like a future fic for Atlast?? I know we just got LH and Vee to like kiss last chapter, but do you think we will ever get like a future thing?
Like Vee accidentally lays fertile eggs? I know that sounds weird. But like🧍🏽 if you get what I mean? Nothing creepy or explicit. Gosh, no nothing like that. Just. Like. They(as I’m LH and Vee) accidentally f.ck up and now Vee actually gonna be a parent?
Sorry if that sounds weird😞
Don’t apologize!! I’ve definitely thought about them having kids lol. It wouldn’t happen within the main Atlas fic and I haven’t really planned anything for that far in the future, but I might write something eventually!
I have so many thoughts about what having a kid would mean for them actually. Bc you’re definitely on the right track about it happening completely by accident agdhbfjdk. They never even thought about having kids since Venus already raised/helped along so many. And it’s been years since they got together at this point, so they probably assumed they couldn’t too
Raising her brothers the way she had to was incredibly scarring for her psyche. She went into survival mode and didn’t find her way out of it for twenty years. She doesn’t consciously make the connection between having a baby and raising her brothers, but her mind does
Her body picks up on her brain’s freak out and thinks that oh shit we’re going back. We’re going back, we calmed down too fast, for too long, we need to go go go-
Because despite how much she loves kids, actually having one of her own again, one she would have to raise and care for and rear… it just takes her back to when she was a starving, struggling child all alone in the dark
Her situation is different now but her instinctive reaction isn’t to recognize her support system (one she’s had for years at this point). Finding out she’s having a kid is sudden and unexpected, it throws her back into problems she thought she had already confronted
she would be really freaked out upon finding out/realizing it and if she does it on her own, she would probably try to hide it/ignore it for as long as she could to try and stay in denial, but other people would take notice of her odd symptoms after a while
It wouldn’t seem to make a lot of sense from the outside? Like, from their perspective, Venus loves kids. She’s the first to volunteer for babysitting and loves to talk about her boys, so what’s the big deal?
And of course Venus herself is hellbent on NOT confronting her issues so she can’t articulate her issues either
Venus would be stressed out of her mind, meanwhile her family are all (sort of separately? Until they all have a conversation where they’re like “Venus has been weird lately right? Right??”) trying to puzzle out what’s wrong with her and why she would be lying about it
She’s chomping down on eggshells in the middle of the night like “this is normal”
I think maybe the family might come to the conclusion on their own after a month or two of Venus acting funky but also assume that Venus doesn’t know and is just trying not to freak out about how weird her body is being, so they make up this elaborate way to tell her what’s happening ahdhfjskdk
Leatherhead is just,,, so off put the whole time. Obviously the initial convo is awkward (they have to be like “so,,, you and Venus…??” To confirm that a pregnancy is possible) but he has to deal with his own feeings about having a kid. He never thought about a family beyond what he already had and once the others start talking about how risky a pregnancy could be for Venus it’s just a giant jumble of emotions for him
I like the idea of her having a girl that they all spoil rotten. She receives all the love and care and attention that Venus never did, and that’s when it really sinks in for Venus that this isn’t the same. She’s not alone and her kid’s never gonna face the same struggles she did
As for how the kid might look… think Rise Raph/a spikier version of any of the Rise boys. She’s gonna grow up BIG too
Many more thoughts on this but I’ll end it here. Thanks for the ask!

Mutant Mayhem Was Good!
[Spoilers Ahead] So I just watched Mutant Mayhem and I have 5 things to say and point out. All I gotta say is...
1. MONA LISA?!
Okay, no one can tell me that don't look like Mona Lisa on that locker 😳
Tumblr media
Like it's the same position and everything!! If MM became a series (I forgot if I heard anything about this ngl-), then I hope we see her! Even if she turns out to be a human! She was a human in 1987 before she got mutated anyways. Also, Idk if that picture above (with the sunglasses) is another art piece, but what if that's Mona Lisa? 👀 She looks like a cool girl like one of those popular girls in school.
2. I wholeheartedly blame MM...
Tumblr media
for making me lowkey enjoy Leonardo x April or Aprilnardo... is that what it's called? Like the turtles act like such teenagers that the crush is quite wholesome ^ ^' I still cringed because omg, this is exactly how 2012 Donnie fell for April (at first sight) 😭 At least this time the crush isn't aggressively shoved down our throats (and obsessive/stalkerish)! MM's portrayal of a teenage crush is what the 2012 creators should've done! Innocent and quite wholesome 😊
3. Showed up to school looking like THIS
Tumblr media
If Leo wasn't a turtle and went to school like that, I think he'd be bullied 💀 Like why he dressed up like Jake From StateFarm? 😂 Full on about to tell me how much I can save on car insurance 😂 Seriously... if Rise Leo- no no, if ANY Leo could see him right now 😭
I can't draw whatsoever, but I hope to see someone create the other Leos reacting to MM Leo's outfit OR A Jake from StateFarm meme with MM Leo. Because these would be amazing 😂
4. Leo Need Some Back Bone
Tumblr media
Mans is over here being bullied about how his split-up name would be Leo Nardo and he didn't 👏 clap 👏 back. I'm only saying this because Raph Ael is way worse and no one noticed 😂 But I appreciate Leo's character in this movie. It is exactly how I would write him in every version; especially in 2012 (except Rise, that Leo is better at hiding anxiety).
I just realized that Donnie ain't much safe either. Tello would be a good last name, but that would mean his name would be Dona 💀 Unless he just sticks to Don Atello which is what he'd probably do x).
5. I wonder...
how would this universe's Casey look? 🤔
isn't Mondo Gecko a teenager? Why isn't he in school?
why is Leatherhead a female? And why she got an accent? If she was mutated in New York then how did she get an Australian accent?
and does the ooooooooze affect only animals? Because Idk if they said anything about it, but I assumed so (and would make sense why they had Splinter origin be a rat).

Natasha is away for an assignment and Steve takes care of Izzie on his own. Maybe they can a “girly day”?
“Now where was my invitation to this lovely gathering?” Natasha asks as she leans a shoulder against the doorframe of their living room, smiling at the sight that greets her.
Isabel turns towards the sound of the question, the teacup in her grip freezing mid-air as she all but flings the plastic back on the table and leaps out of her seat. “Momma!”
A chuckle falls from Natasha’s lips as she bends down, waiting for Isabel, clad in a royal blue princess dress and a bright red leatherhead – a combination she’s certain comes with an elaborate explanation from her three-year-old – to run into her open arms. “Oh!” she exclaims, standing with Isabel in her embrace and making the little girl giggle as she peppers her cheeks with kisses. “I missed you, fig!”
“I missed you too, momma,” Isabel says, pulling away just enough to look at her. “We’re having a tea party!”
“A costume tea party,” Steve adds, rising from the comically small chair around their coffee table that Natasha knows he was careful not to put his full weight on.
“I can see that,” Natasha says, smirking at the combination of the tiara and lime green feather boa her husband is sporting.
“Daddy and I had so much fun today, momma!” Isabel exclaims in her arms, prompting Natasha to turn her attention back to her daughter who’s practically radiating with bliss.
Natasha smiles. “That so?”
“Mhmm,” Isabel confirms, nodding enthusiastically. “Before the tea party, we went to the park and fed the duckies and went on the carousel. Then we went to get ice cream!”
“Ice cream and the park?” Natasha confirms, feigning disbelief.
Isabel smiles. “And I painted Daddy’s nails.”
On cue, Steve lifts his hands, wiggling his fingers to show off his glitter-covered nails. Natasha shakes her head, chuckling. “Well, I’m glad you two had an amazing time.”
“You should come with us next time, momma,” Isabel says.
“Tell you what,” Natasha says, dusting a kiss to Isabel’s temple before quickly glancing at her watch. “Why don’t you put your shoes on and we’ll see if we can go another round on the carousel before dinner?”
“And see if the duckies are still there?” Isabel asks, looking hopefully up at her and then at Steve.
Steve nods. “Sure, babe.”
“Yay!” Isabel says, causing both her parents to laugh as Natasha sets her down and she darts towards her room.
“No running!” Natasha calls out the same time Steve does.
“Sorry!” Isabel yells back even as her little feet continue to pitter patter against the hardwood.
“That girl,” Natasha says, a fondness in her tone even as she shakes her head.
“That girl indeed,” Steve says, a smile pulling at his lips. He steps closer to her, placing his hands on her waist before leaning down to press his lips to hers.
Natasha’s voice is barely above a whisper when they pull away moments later. “Hi.”
“Hi back,” Steve says quietly. “How was your trip?”
“Long,” Natasha admits, letting the enthusiasm she had mustered to greet Isabel with falter just a bit. “I’m tired from all the back-to-back meetings and sore from having to stand in heels for hours on end at all the events Pepper dragged me to.” As she rests her hands flat on his chest, she lets out a sigh. “I’m just glad to be home.”
“We’re glad that you’re home,” Steve says earnestly, grinning. “Although…” Natasha’s brow rises as he leans down. “What makes you think…” he whispers in her ear, causing her eyes to flutter shut as she feels his breath across her skin. “That you’re not going to be…” He presses a kiss to her jaw. “Tired…” Then down her neck. “And sore around here?”
With a breathy chuckle, Natasha cups his face between her hands, pulling him up ever so slightly so their lips can meet once more, this kiss leaps and bounds hungrier than the last. She nibbles on his bottom lip, feeling ever so smug when that elicits a grunt from him. His grip tightens on her hips, but just as he’s about to pull her even closer-
“Daddy!” Isabel yells from down the hall. “I need help changing my outfit!”
They pull away, and Natasha laughs as she watches Steve groan as he looks up at the ceiling. “That’s why,” she says, smirking as she gives his shoulder a pat. “Duty calls, Dad.”
“Daddy!”
“Coming, fig!” Steve calls out, shooting Natasha an amused look as he shakes his head. “That girl.”
Natasha smiles. “That girl, indeed.”

TMNT (2012) characters as dysfunctional family roles
here I go again analyzing a kids show that ended four years ago. anyway, I saw a tiktok by user doinbigthink where they gave a quick overview of the six kinds of dysfunctional family roles, and I immediately thought of tmnt bc it’s my current hyperfixation. so I spent almost an hour doing research and writing up this analysis, as one does.
as a preface: dysfunction in a family can be caused by anything from someone struggling with addiction to a parent being abusive or unavailable/neglectful to someone having narcissistic personality disorder (npd) etc. etc. Usually there is one person who is the root cause of this (very deep seated) dysfunction and the others in the family (often the kids) fall into these roles in order to cope.
Leo: The Hero
The Hero is often the oldest child. They cope with the dysfunction in the family by being high achievers or perfectionists, and they need a sense of control in order to feel safe within the family. They are seen as very well-adjusted, balanced, and high-functional and are often used as an example of how well the family as a whole is doing. They may allow this misconception to continue (whether consciously or unconsciously) in order to hide the family’s problems. They may be parentified as children (that is, forced to take on a parental role for their younger siblings) and usually feel a lot of pressure to solve the family’s issues. With Leo in particular, you see these two behaviors in the way he approaches leading his brothers as well as the way he obsessed over bringing Karai into the family for Splinter’s sake after discovering her true identity. As an adult, the Hero is often drawn toward romantic partners who are emotionally unavailable (again, see Leo’s crush on Karai) and tend to throw themselves into their work (Leo’s obsession with ninjutsu)
Leo: The Golden Child
The Golden Child is not a dysfunctional family role but instead describes a relationship that develops between a parent/guardian with npd and one of the children in the family. In these cases, the parent tends to favor the Golden Child because the Golden Child exhibits all the traits the parent loves in themselves. In Splinter and Leo’s case, these characteristics are their devotion to ninjutsu, their general temperaments, and their more spiritual/mystic natures. There are MANY examples of this favoritism in TMNT canon; for example, Splinter teaching Leo his reiki technique (the healing hands) in “the deadly venom” because everyone things Leo is the most capable of learning such an advanced technique (in the episode, Donnie says that he doesn’t think anyone else on the team could’ve done what Leo did, i.e. using the healing hands on himself and saving the others from karai). The parent has a volatile relationship with the Golden Child and often their love is conditional (that is, the parent will favor the Golden Child as long as the Golden Child continues to act like the parent). Because of this, the Golden Child often has trouble establishing an independent identity (see: Raph calling Leo “Splinter Jr.”, though I can’t remember if this happens in 2012 or just in the 2003 version). The Golden Child may also participate in the narcissistic parent’s abuse against the other children in order to protect themself (this is less explicit in canon, but I think that Leo’s leadership style fits this bill)
Raph: The Scapegoat
The Scapegoat is often the second child. As the name suggests, they are often blamed for things that go wrong in the family regardless of whether it was actually their fault or not. Scapegoats are often very aware of their position in the family and as a result they may feel rejected, isolated, and unlovable. I think a good example of Raph feeling like this is the fact that, early in the show, he only openly expresses his emotions to Spike. Scapegoats learn that negative attention is better than no attention (especially from a parent/guardian) and they often engage in high risk behaviors such as sex, drugs, etc. (in Raph’s case, his reckless fighting style and the way he seeks out fights, and this also explains his temper and overall angry demeanor). Because of this, they tend to get into a lot of trouble and are often singled out as the child who needs individual help (aka therapy) even though the root problems lie with the family as a unit. In cases where the parent has npd the Scapegoat is often pitted against the Golden Child. This is called splitting and it is another way to distract from the family’s deeper issues. I feel like I don’t need to explain the way that Leo and Raph are pitted against each other.
Donnie: The Lost Child
The Lost Child, as the name implies, often fades into the background. Usually this is on purpose in an effort to keep themself safe, as they might be scared to draw attention to themself or rock the boat, especially in an abusive household. They may often feel ignored or neglected and are often described as loners who have difficulty developing social skills or self-esteem. Like the Hero, the Lost Child is often used as an example of the family’s stability and success because they aren’t causing trouble. They tend to struggle when forming friendships/romantic relationships, and they are usually praised for not needing a lot of attention/being independent. Because of this, they feel safer when they’re by themselves. Although Donnie does cause trouble sometimes (see: all the times he’s blown some shit up in the lab, the Mutagen man thing, etc.), he’s not seen as the troublemaker. Raph (and Mikey, to a certain extent) definitely takes that title. Donnie is often alone in his lab---working, admittedly, but he still tends to isolate himself, and he is often seen as the most socially awkward of the brothers (see: his relationship with April). There’s also this very interesting exchange from the episode “Enemy of My Enemy” when they’re in the Shellraiser and Leo is about to take the stealth bike to help Karai:
Raph: Hey, the stealth bike’s my thing. Leo: Now your thing is sucking it up. Donnie: Hey! That’s my thing!
Mikey: The Mascot
The Mascot is often the youngest child. They use humor and goofiness to diffuse tension and distract the family from their issues, though when this works, they feel increased pressure to continue to step in when things become tense or volatile. The Mascot acts from a place of anxiety and trauma, and they may have bouts of depression. They also tend to feel as though they cannot express their negative emotions (because they often see themselves as responsible for their family’s happiness). They tend to bend over backwards for people with little regard for their own safety/comfort, and they are drawn to intense and dysfunctional relationships (whether romantic or platonic) where they will be called upon to diffuse tension. This can be seen in the way Mikey approached his friendships with both Bradford (pre-mutation) and Leatherhead. Mikey is also very rarely shown as being sad, angry, or depressed the way that the other three are, and it’s only in times of extreme emotional distress (like the season two finale) where he drops his humor. Even in the midst of tough battles or tough situations, Mikey tends to insert himself into the middle of the tension and is almost constantly cracking jokes or trying to keep things lighthearted. When he does show more negative emotions, it’s in (mostly) one of two ways. One, giving comfort or seeking comfort, usually from Raph (again see the season two finale, where he hugs Raph to calm him down after Splinter “dies” and seeks comfort from Raph in the Party Wagon as they’re driving away from the city). Two, acting combative with Donnie.
Note: Mikey and Donnie acting combative
This second one in particular is really interesting to me because both Donnie and Mikey exhibit a level of comfort/feeling safe with each other that they don’t display with the other two. Mikey only ever gets physical with Donnie (their little slap fight in “Turtle Temper” or attacking him at the end of “The Creeping Doom”), while Donnie only ever purposefully antagonizes Mikey to get a reaction (slapping him in “Turtle Temper”, which prompts the slap fight, or teasingly insulting him at the end of “The Creeping Doom”, which prompts Mikey to attack him). Mikey likes to get under Raph’s skin, but he never retaliates when Raph gets physical with him. Donnie does occasionally argue with Raph and Leo, but usually backs down after Raph threatens him with violence (see “New Girl in Town”), and with Leo it never escalates past a verbal fight (see the season two finale, “the fourfold trap”). Actually, it seems that in Mikey’s and Donnie’s relationship, they take on the roles that you usually see in Raph’s and Mikey’s relationship. Mikey antagonizes Raph and Raph retaliates; similarly, Donnie antagonizes Mikey and Mikey retaliates, but neither of them would act this way toward their other two brothers.
Splinter: The Root of the Dysfunction
I’ve made a lot of allusions by now to Splinter having npd, or at least some narcissistic tendencies. There are many times where he shows favoritism toward Leo or acts in a very stubborn or even self-absorbed manner. In the season one finale, for example, he refuses to help the turtles fight and only leaves the lair after april is kidnapped by the shredder. In “the pulverizer returns”, he makes the turtles switch weapons (for literally no good reason), they almost die in a fight and switch back, and as punishment, he takes their weapons away entirely; this isn’t addressed in the episode, but i do believe that if they’d had their weapons, they could’ve prevented timothy from being mutated in this episode. (Admittedly there are times when he apologizes, admits he’s wrong, and changes his mind, which is why I hesitate to say he exhibits fully narcissistic behaviors). There’s also the physical aspect of their relationship. He’s teaching the turtles ninjutsu, so you can expect a very physical relationship in the form of training, but there are times when he causes the turtles pain for the sake of pain as punishment (e.g. randori, which we see a few times, or when he goes for their pressure points, or when he trips mikey in the episode “monkey brains”, or when he stabs raph with his cane in the episode “turtle temper”, and these are just the examples i can think of off the top of my head). There has been discourse in the fandom about whether these characters (splinter and raph in particular) are abusive, and i don’t want to get into that. However, i think it’s undeniable that splinter raised his kids with the intent to turn them into child soldiers, and also i fully believe that this (plus his parenting style) is the root of the dysfunction in the hamato family.

TMNT 2012 Rewatch Episodes 11-15
Mousers Attack: This episode was by far my least favorite in Season 1 and my least favorite overall until Pizza Face took that title. How do I feel now after all these years? Well… I don’t outright hate it anymore and it has it’s fun moments, but I still don’t care for it. I get what they were trying to do, but I just think the whole A/B Team thing was poorly done with Donnie and especially Mikey coming off as borderline useless with a poor resolution to the team unifying. I liked seeing Leo and Raph actually getting along, but both come off as such big jerks that it’s hard to enjoy that aspect. I like the concept of the two pairs having a confict because of Leo and Raph being better fighters and Donnie and Mikey trying to prove them wrong but while Donnie’s intellect does get spotlighted, it’s just otherwise… not that good and more justifies Leo and Raph’s cockiness than dissuades it with them having to save the other two and overall handle the Mouser situation all on their own. I’ll go more in-depth into the issues of the episode when I do the reviews, but long story short: you only need to watch this so you know why Stockman’s with the Foot later. 2/5.
It Came From the Depths: Leatherhead intro, yay! God I missed the Mikey that wwe got in S1. I still need to rewatch S2-5 all the way through, but it really feels like the more the show went on, the more depth that Mikey lost overtime. Here we saw a more empathetic side to him in how he befriended Leatherhead despite the others being against it and some inner wisdom that shows how emotionally intelligent he is. After New Friend, Old Enemy especially it’s perfect development for him. Leatherhead is also such a sympathetic character. He has a good heart bit because of the torment he endured he’s prone to violent outbursts and it’s just… sad. The episode really demonstrates how monsturous the Kraang really are and how scary they truly can be. And of course we get to see Splinter in a fight, and it is glorious. It’s overall a really good episode that furthers the Kraang plot, demonstrates why Mikey is a good character, and I just love Leatherhead so much~! 4.5/5
New Girl in Town: We have reached the conclusion of the Leo and Raph rivalry arc and the intro of Karai. This episode took everything between the two Turtles from the past few episode and brought it to such an excellent conclusion. Leo expressing his frustrations over the burden of leadership was well-times and helps make the frankly VERY rushed development and decision to trust Karai more understandable. Raph finally got a taste of what Leo endured every day and finally realizes how much of an insensetive jerk who only made it worst for his brother. Even Donnie and April got some good moments woth Donnie taking charge during Raph’s breakdown and April calling Leo put, but still listening to him when he explains why he’s attracted to Karai. I admit Splinter dcolding Leo for his frustrations comes off as harsh, but tbf I think be was more mad that Leo adandoned the post like he did and he DID bring it up to Raph. And Karai got some good character establishment with her mischevious bad girl personality that promised a whole new dynamkc. Overall, aside from some tweaking, the episode did everything it needed to do and did it well. 4.5/5.
I, Monster: I love this episode. This was the episode the show needed at this point. The Rat King is still utterly terrifying despite his ability being to control rats, which may not sound scary but… yeah. It did very well delving more into Splinter, his struggle with maintaining his humanity, his fears about his sons one day no longer needing him, and just emphasizing bow much of a tragic character he is which REALLY makes what happens to him in later seasons hurt more. I admit 2012 Splinter is harsher than I remembered, but it’s still very clear that he loves his sons and that they loved theor father, and this episode just demonstrates that so well. Add in some more Splinter badassery and you have a winner of an episode~! 5/5.
The Alien Agenda: I feel… mixed. To me, the whole Leo and Karai development happened incredibly last. Leo comes off as maybe too naive, trusting the enemyw ho he hasn’t known for bery long and considering what we find out later, his crush is… awkward looking back. Raph being far more level-headed and calling Leo out on not only acting that way, but not telling Donnie, Mikey, and Splinter for no clear reason was good though and helped show more of Raph’s development. Karai being the first Foot character to give a damn about the Kraang’s involvement and overall proving to be the smartest villain thus far really helped make her a more likeable but formidable foe. I din’t mean to harp on Leo too much and tbf he DID threaten Karai to leave his family alone, it’s mainly just rushed execution but that just can’t be helped. The Kraang plot was meh, really inly foreshadowing the big reveal in two episodes, but April getting to show some progress with her training was nice. It’s not the best episode with it’s rushed execution, the Kraang plot jsut kind of being there, and Leo maybe being more naive than he should have been and keeping Karai a secret just comes off as kind of pointless. But it does help show more of Leo’s character flaws, had some good interactions with him and Raph, furthered Karai’s role, and has the Foot gaining a more active interest in the Kraang. It helped progress things in a still mostly fun way and that’s all I ask for. 4/5.
Okay, so next time we have The Pulverizer, cockroaches, April and Splinter bonding, and of course the episode that changes everything between the Turtles and Karai… well, the first one anyways. Should be fun!

I’m uploading this Friday at 12:10 am. Or, at least, that’s when I finished writing this. Yes, we’re still on the angst thing. It won’t last forever, but still.
Chapter 9
“How is she?”
Donatello sits down next to his brother on the couch. “Same as yesterday,” he sighs. “Comatose.”
“I still can’t believe it,” Raphael smirks. “That stupid bitch decided to total the fuckin—"
“Raphael,” he promises coolly, “I will personally make it my life’s goal to make sure you can never open your mouth again if you don’t shut up.”
He puts his hands up. “Yeah, yeah.”
“Will you two be quiet for a minute? I’m trying to listen.” Leonardo kneels in front of the television.
There is a new news story.
“They can’t arrest her, can they?” The tallest brother glances at the others.
“Nah.” Michelangelo is sprawled out on his portion of the couch, eyes dully focused on the screen. “They’ll side with her before someone from a street gang, ‘specially with those…” He trails off. “’ Sides,” he clears his throat, “any good public defense lawyer would call it self-defense, and there’s no way the police would convict a teenage girl of any degree of murder with the injuries she has; bad press.”
“Mikey,” Leo asks, “how come you know that and not how to multiply numbers by seven?”
“Because seven is a stupid number that was created just to make us all feel stupid.”
“Leo—”
“He’s right,” Raph agrees. “They won’t put her away for something like that.” He chuckles darkly. “Besides, there’s no more evidence.”
“After what happened with the neurologist?”
“Donnie,” Leo turns to look at him. “She’s going to be fine.”
He opens his mouth to argue, closes it.
” The perpetrator,” the news anchor reads, ” was found this morning after a panicked nine-one-one caller had seen the hand of the assailant hanging over a ledge. The corpse had, presumably, been flung away from the scene of the incident as a consequence of the explosion, miraculously landing on the roof of a nearby restaurant. The body has been identified as Fong Zhao, who was arrested on multiple charges of armed battery earlier this year. The police have refrained from offering Channel Six detailed information, but we have an anonymous source who claims that he and the gang he is supposedly involved in, locally referred to as the Purple Dragons, was also involved in the hijacking of a truck carrying a substance believed to be tear gas. The driver of the truck testified in favor of this statement earlier this evening. An investigation is currently ongoing regarding the involvement of the men in question, and we at Channel Six implore our viewers to come forward with any information you may have on the case or the supposed ringleader, the recently escaped Xever Montes. More on that later tonight. Up next, a local—”
Leonardo shuts off the television. “Well, there you go.” He stands up. “See? Didn’t even mention her name.”
Donatello breathes out a sigh of relief. “Good,” he nods after a moment. “That’s... good.” He cradles his head in his hand, his concerns hardly pacified by the report.
This, he cannot excuse. This is entirely a matter of his own negligence.
‘I should’ve noticed sooner, insisted to come with.’ He zones out, his brother starting a conversation about something he cannot bring himself to pay attention to. ‘How could she be that reckless? It’s Shredder for fuck’s sake; I should’ve at least noticed the body or something, anything.’ His fingers lace together as he stares a hole into the ground. ‘Even if I couldn’t have stopped her, I should’ve been there, if only after the fact.’ He runs his tongue along his teeth absentmindedly. ‘Some ninja I am. Some friend. Some—’
“So, I broke Y/N’s arms, right?”
His head snaps up. “You what?”
“There he is,” Raph chuckles. “Knew that’d get his attention.”
“Don’t make me go over there,” he glares. His face flushes in embarrassment.
Leonardo rolls his eyes at his brother’s antics. “As I was saying, it’s been pretty quiet, hasn’t it? Since the incident?”
“Now that you mention it,” Raph points out, “since the whole Leatherhead fiasco, I don’t think anything’s really happened. Ya know, besides the Kraang thing.” He crosses his arms behind his head, leaning back into the couch. “It’s been getting’ kinda boring If I’m bein’ honest.”
“It’s that desire to fight that’s going to get you killed,” Donatello informs him, staring at the television screen. “Saw what happened to her, right? Weren’t you just saying how stupid she was being?”
“Yeah, but that’s different.” He smiles sharply. “She’s got exactly no training. As much as you guys seem to have a thing for humility all of a sudden,” he waves his hand contemptuously, “the only reason she got hurt is that she was being stupid, so we’re pretty much undefeated, no thanks to Leo.”
He stands up, deciding against fighting him. “If you need me,” he says curtly, “I’ll be in my lab.”
“Watch it, Raph,” the eldest brother snaps.
“Why should I?” He throws his hands up. “Am I wrong?”
Mikey quietly grabs his comic off the floor, retreating to his room, presumably.
Donatello slides the door in between him and his brothers as he sits down at his desk.
You have been stuck in the hospital for about two weeks now.
‘Technically,’ he corrects himself as he pulls his laptop open, ‘it’s been three hundred fifty-seven hours, meaning it’s closer to fifteen days than two weeks. Why do I know that?’ He pulls up an image, uncapping a permanent marker and working on one of the more mindless parts of his latest project: reviving an incredibly battered map. He already has a frame for it once he is finished, but, knowing his brothers, the fading colors would likely be a point of contention if he did not at least make an effort to make it easier to read. Fortunately for him, it is not laminated. Unfortunately—depending on how you look at it— a lot of the finer details—the integral streets names in particular—are all irreparably smudged and, therefore, will have to be all rewritten by hand, turning a once twenty-minute job into at least a two-hour investment.
He tries to tune out the incessant arguing of his two older brothers as he focuses on making his minute handwriting legible despite the infuriatingly fat marker nib.
“You should have taken her offer for a pen when you had the chance,” he mumbles to himself.
His hand stops.
‘Would it be weird to go check on her again? Just to make sure she’s still alright? I mean,’ he goes back to work, ‘even if it were, how would she know?’
He shakes his head to clear it. ‘Stop that. You’re being a creep again.’
Over those two weeks, his distractedness has become more of a problem than it has in the past in reference to his work. He is hardly a stranger to having a thousand thoughts bouncing around his head at once, but where once a rapid stream of information was there is now an aggravatingly slow sludge. The origin of said mind sludge is not at all a mystery to him, which makes the whole thing infinitely more frustrating. ‘Frustrating? Depressing? Does it even matter?’
He rubs his eye absentmindedly with the heel of his palm as he strains to see what he is doing. The smell of the marker is corrosive in his nostrils. His hand shakes. He sets it down, wringing his hands as if to force them back into submission as he stares holes into the map. ‘This is not supposed to be challenging.’ He closes his eyes, the image of you lying on the ground, a bloody, skeletal figure shaking and begging for your life carved into the backs of his eyelids, a hideous scar.
He can not stop thinking about what you said the night before the incident. Something about being able to care for yourself.
What would you say to him now? He imagines that it would be something to remind him of how the accident is your fault, how he should not beat himself up over it, but all that does is convince him that he should have been faster to act or to respond or something. There had to have been something he, in his infinite wisdom, could have done. What else can he reason? That he is powerless? That he had no say in what happened that night of nights?
‘How come I can plan and build a combat vehicle out of alien technology and an old subway car and I can’t—’
He jumps at a loud banging at the door.
“Donnie!” He can hear Raphael’s wicked grin from behind the door. “Bank robbery! Let’s go!”
He sighs, capping the marker. His breakdown will have to wait.
“Comin’!”
--
The ringing in your ears is already annoying.
You have been awake for about five minutes. You have elected against moving for a plethora of reasons, but the ringing is a relatively large determining factor in your decision. You are, admittedly, not sure where you are until you hear the tell-tale incessant beeping you remember from your childhood. You do not open your eyes yet. You are incredibly drowsy for some reason.
‘Hospital?’
You sit up carefully, wincing as a numb pain permeates through your arms. You run your fingers over your face curiously, feeling for any perceived disfigurement as your eyes scan your surroundings. The small room you have been placed in seems standard; there are a couple of chairs under a window that makes up half of the wall, a television screen in a corner of the room, an inoffensive painting, and a small vase filled with some sort of white flowers.
You feel a protruding scar on the right side of your face. It traces from the bridge of your nose to about halfway across your cheekbone. As you bring your hands down to pull the hospital gown away from your body, you catch sight of your hands. Long, jagged cuts run vertically along the front of your hands, and as your eyes travel up your arms, you notice fewer, shorter scars along the insides of your forearms. You swallow, pulling the cloth away from your body to see long scratches running from your thighs to under your ribcage. You pull the blanket off to find that one of your legs is encased in a white cast.
You blink. ‘What stupid thing did I do?’
You lay back down, fingers absentmindedly tracing the scars. ‘I must have been out for a bit.’ You push the hair out of your face, noting how oddly shaky your hands are as you try to focus on what had happened. ‘Why wouldn’t my folks be here? They wouldn’t ditch me in a hospital, would they?’ You hold them out in front of you, palms to the ceiling. ‘I don’t look old or anything. My nails aren’t much longer than they were before, so I can’t have been out for that long.’
Your eyebrows furrow. ‘Parents…’ You swallow. ‘Oh, right. The fire.’ Your eyes go out of focus. ‘Dead. I was, too, until recently.’ You put your arms down. ‘I’m hungry. Where am I?’ You close your eyes. ‘New York. East coast. How far is the East Coast from the West Coast? I should call her so she knows I’m—no, she’s dead.’
“All dead and gone,” you mumble the tune to yourself.
You cover your face. ‘Focus. What happened?’ You recall what you think is a church. ‘Turtles. Turtle. Oh, TMNT. Where are people? Focus.’ You yank at a piece of your hair, mumbling to yourself as you try to run through the memory again.
The image of that man’s body takes your breath away.
You shut your eyes tighter. ‘Right. Car. Glass. Glass would be a good candy. Could you make glass out of sugar? Isn’t that what a lollipop is?’ You hug yourself tightly, careful of the IV as you roll onto your side towards it. ‘I killed someone. Someones. That’s not a word. Gasoline smells bad.’ You feel tears prick at your eyes. ‘I deserve to die for that. There has to have been an easier way to do that. I deserve to burn again. That explosion was so prettily animated in that episode. I can’t breathe.’
You curl your legs up towards you, using the arm not connected to the IV to hook behind your knees. You bury your head in your shoulder as you force your breathing to slow. ‘I miss her. Where is he? They’re dead and you killed them, you heartless bitch.’
You feel a sob rise in your throat. You swallow it back. ‘Stop being a pussy.’ You hear yourself start to count softly. ‘They’re all dead and gone. You’re on your own here, so get a grip.’ You grip the blanket. ‘After all, who are you going to turn to? The guys who already risk their lives every day? Or maybe Splinter, who will probably tell you some bullshit about letting your pain go?’
‘That’s not fair,’ you argue with yourself. ‘You can turn to Murakami. Casey might be willing to help.’
‘Because Casey’s known for his reliability and Murakami would want to deal with your stupid emotional problems.’
“Twenty-three,” you whisper, keeping your voice even. “Twenty-four, twenty-five, twenty-six…’
You pull yourself back up, bringing your knee to your chest as you wipe any tears that may have leaked out with the back of your hand.
You do not have to wait long until someone comes in to check on you, a taller gentleman with sharp features and sunken eyes behind curly black hair. He introduces himself as Nurse McGrath, gives you a run down of the dizzying number of injuries you had suffered in the accident, what they had done to fix the problem, and starts to discuss what would become of you now.
“The doctor predicts that you’ll be able to remove your cast in approximately six weeks, and that you will regain your fine-motor skills fully in eight.” He is obviously half asleep, but you can hardly blame him; the clock on the wall reads that it is about three in the morning. “The symptoms from the whiplash should completely fade in about three months. If you would be open, there are medications we can prescribe to help with the pain.”
You smile. “Thank you, sir, but I’d rather not.” You are sincerely concerned what might happen if you start taking any sort of medication right now, considering your mental health.
“I should probably warn you in advance that the police might ask you to come in to identify the guys who kidnapped you.”
You blink, confused. “How do they know I was kidnapped?”
“Anonymous tip, according to the news.” He scratches something into some form or another. “I dunno the specifics, but nobody thinks they’re gonna charge you with anything, ‘specially since the driver was from that street gang.”
You nod. “Gotcha.” You purse your lips. “What day is it?”
“Twenty-fourth, now.”
You sigh. “Well,” you shrug, ignoring the pain it causes, “at least I’m not dead.”
“At least.” He caps his pen. “Technically, you’re free to leave, but the doc thinks it’s a good idea to stay overnight. Your insurance provider has your medical bills covered, so you’re good for it.”
“Honestly? I’m surprised I don’t feel weaker.” You smile. “I’m more than happy to head home tonight, if that makes most sense.”
“Personally, I wouldn’t stay.” He starts heading out of your room. “Your cellphone is locked up. I’m guessing you want it?”
You nod eagerly, realizing quickly that makes the ringing worse.
“I’ll bring it right back, then.”
You refrain from touching it until he leaves.
It looks as if it was put in a blender, but you find it does still turn on. A problem quickly arises: your hands cannot hold the phone. You set it down on the mattress, each movement taking a ridiculous amount of time to coordinate as you type like someone who has never used a phone before. ‘Fine motor skills. Right.’ You type out a message after approximately too long that tells Donnie that you are out of the hospital and heading home.
You check out of the hospital at approximately four-thirteen. The trip home is a straight line of a walk that takes you approximately twenty minutes. Getting in through the door with a walker is a bit of a challenge, but it works out well enough.
You lock the door and windows when you get home, shutting your phone off as you crawl into bed.
You let out a low groan as your head punishes you for your heinous crime of moving. You had realized ten minutes into your walk that you were not at all physically strong enough to walk that long, and you already hate yourself for it, among other reasons. As you crawl into bed, ignoring your body’s protest, you still stand by your decision to not take any medication, especially now.
You feel as though you are being suffocated as you cling onto your pillow, pressing your face into it as you cry silently, the ringing in your ears only getting louder in the silence of your apartment.
‘I feel sick.’
You remember your first night here. You remember the feeling it had caused you, the numb ache of loss as you submitted to the situation you had found yourself in. It feels like an eternity ago, now. You know, logically, it cannot have been more than two months since you got here.
You had decided against taking a cab back home. You had the cash, and you still do, in your bloodstained pocket. You saw many as you walked home, and you had turned a blind eye to them all.
You feel yourself trembling again. You remember the first night you had slept on your own here, the nightmares you swore were the product of a mind much more sadistic than yours ever was. You remember, too, the nightmares you had after Bradford, the way that, for the first time in your life since you were five years old you woke up drenched in sweat and crying for your mother.
What possible dream could come from this?
You reach a hand to the nightstand, hovering over your cellphone as you consider your next action.
Slowly, you retract it, letting it rest next to you. ‘It’s four. He’s not awake.’ You do not have the energy to get up to grab the bottle of sleeping pills from your bathroom.
‘I don’t want to sleep. I can’t take another nightmare.’ You rest your cheek on the pillow, forcing your eyes shut. ‘Mare. Why is it called a nightmare? Are mares truly that terrifying?’
“One,” you whisper. “Two. Three.”

Turtles Forever Part 65
The Lesson
"Donnie, What's the big surprise that you had to drag us all out of bed?" Raph growled, irritated. The three brothers, Splinter, and four girls were in Donnie's lab, wondering the same as well. Donnie was standing in front of them.
"Yeah, Don. Couldn't it wait in the morning? A turtle does need his beauty sleep, you know?" Mikey groaned tiredly, rubbing his eyes, yawning. Leatherhead walked into the room wheeling in a strange monitor.
"Leatherhead? what are you doing here?" Leo asked.
"Leatherhead and I staid awake all night fixing this. But, we did it! We've finally got it to work!" Donnie shouted barely able to contain his excitement.
"Did what, my son?" Splinter questioned. Donnie walked over to Mona and took her hand gesturing her to the bed, with the monitor next to it, to lie down on it. Cautiously, Mona laid down as Raph walked over to her standing beside the bed next her.  Donnie started up the monitor and began to rub some gel on the mutant's stomach. Then he took a sensor that was connected to the monitor and began to rub it over Mona's belly. A picture came on the screen followed by an erratic heartbeat. Oh the screen, was a small baby with a tail as it moved. Raph and Mona's eyes widen in shock as did everybody else as well watching the screen.
"O-Our baby?!" Mona stammered. Raph watched the screen in silence, completely paralyzed in shock. Donnie scanned Mona over again then inspected the image on the screen.
"By the looks of it, the baby's definitely gonna take after Mona. But, I can't tell what the gender is because of the tail in the way. However, they seem to be healthy." Donnie explained. "I'd say it'll probably be about three months before they are born."
"Donnie, this is the best gift ever! You and LH really out-did yourself!" Raph exclaimed. Donnie smiled sheepishly, rubbing his head.
"It was nothing really. Just a few broken circuit boards and wires."
The turtles and the four girls jump down in front of April's shop. They walked in as they entered.
"April?" Leo called out. "Anybody home?"
Suddenly, they hear a scream and the sounds of someone getting beaten up. "No!"
"April's in trouble!" Donnie exclaimed. He pulls out his staff and runs towards the back door. The others follow him with weapons drawn as they ran out into the alleyway. They see April holding a bat.
"I give, I give!" They hear someone shouted. Leo adjusted the light bulb and everyone was surprised to see that it was Casey. April panted as she looked down at him.
"Easy April, it's only me!" Casey protested. April gave him an angry look.
"Casey, what the heck are you doing?" She questioned. "That has to be the dumbest thing in the history of dumbest things anybody could do!" Raph and Donnie walked over and helped Casey up. "What were you thinking?"
"I'm thinking I'm glad that's just a whiffle bat," Casey commented, rubbing his head. "Sheesh!"
"No, I mean, why would you do such a thing?" said April as she threw the bat away and started walking towards the back door to her shop.
"You asked me to, remember?" Casey asked.
"I did not!" April protested.
"Sure you did!" Casey said as he steps to her. "You was bragging about your ninja fighting skills," He flaps his arms. "And I said I ought to sneak up on ya sometime and test out how good you was. And you said that sounded like an interesting idea."
April glared at him, placing her hands on her hips. Then she looked at the four brothers and girls. "So, how are you guys doing?" She asked. "I was about to make some hot chocolate. I can easily make enough for nine," She smiled. Everyone cheered as they followed April to her shop.
"Great, I love hot chocolate!" Casey exclaimed, happily.
April counted as the four brothers and girls walked into her shop. "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight," She smirked and pointed to herself. "And nine." Slamming the door on Casey's face.
"Come on April, you weren't that scared," Casey protested outside. "You beat the crud out of me!" He groaned. He hears no response. "April? Guys? Geez, everybody's so sensitive around here," said Casey, as he kicked a can and started walking away.
In the living room, Mikey and Leo were sitting on the couch, along with Yuuki and Alopex, Raph was sitting on the chair while Mona sat on the arm rest of the chair, Donnie was sitting on the table while Venus sat in a chair next to him.
"Think Casey's okay out there?" Mikey questioned. Suddenly, Donnie's shell cell began to ring.
"That's probably him now," said Leo.
"He's such a bonehead," Raph commented.
"Uh, hello?" Donnie asked as he answered his phone. But, he winched as he heard static. "Huh, it's not Casey. Sounds like somebody's trying to send me a fax."
April growled in frustration. "Oh that Casey gets me so mad!" She carried a tray with nine cups filled with hot chocolate as she walked over to the table. The three brothers and girls walked over to her at the table, taking a seat.
"What are you talking about, April?" Raph asked. "You totally clobbered him!"
"Well," April hesitated. "It's just that I really thought I was getting somewhere in my training with Master Splinter," The turtles, and girls take their hot chocolates, listening to her. "But Casey totally caught me by surprise. I should have heard him coming. You guys would have."
"Well, if it makes you fell any better, April. I'm still learning myself." said Yuuki.
"It takes a lot of practice," Donnie tells her.
"Master Splinter spent a lot of time training us to be aware of our surroundings at all times," Leo explained. "After a while though, if you studied hard enough, you got a sixth sense for it."
"Maybe you guys could help with my ninja training?" April suggested.
The four turtles give her surprised looks.
"Yeah, that's actually not a bad idea, April." Yuuki commented. The four brothers looked at each other, before shaking their heads.
"No way!" Raph said, waving his hands. The four girls looked at them surprised.
"Why not? I'm a quick learner!" April protested.
"It's not you, April," Donnie explained. "It's us."
"Last time we tried to play sensei...well, let's just say it didn't work out too well," Leo said, hesitantly.
"Yeah, we though we could teach this kid," Raph chuckled. "And we were just kids ourselves."
"Raph, that's no way to tell a story," Mikey argued. "Here, let me do it. It was a dark and stormy night, in a galaxy far far away-"
"Mikey," Raph warned.
"Uh, I mean, many moons ago, on a night much like this one,"
Four younger turtles with shorter masks that covered their heads were running in the sewers.
"We were four young turtle tots facing the most horrible of all dangerous dangers. Dun, dun, dun, the wrath of Master Splinter!"
Splinter smacked his staff against the map of the sewers that was hanging on the wall.
"We'd been warned. We knew what we were not supposed to be doing." Leo added.
Splinter smacks his staff, making the four turtle tots gasp. "Do not go to the surface!" He told them as they were walking across a balance beam. "Never go up to the streets! It is far too dangerous," He warned them as they were having dinner and slammed his teapot down, making them gasp. "Under no circumstances should you ever go above ground," Leo lost his balance, falling off from the beam. "If you ever think of going topside, just do not!" Splinter exclaimed. "You had better hope I never catch you going out of the sewers!"
The four turtle tots gulped and looked at each other.
"So, what did you guys do?" April asked.
Leo opened the manhole cover. "We went topside." The four brothers struggled to slide the manhole cover as they tried to move it.
"When we finally go the lid off." Donnie said.
"Hey, no cutting in line!" Raph warned as they tried to crawl out.
"Then move your big fat shell!" Mikey exclaimed. They climbed out and looked around the alley in wonder and amazement.
"It's amazing!" Leo said. "All this open space!"
They walked further down the alley, exploring. "Man, Master Splinter's been holding out on us," Raph said. "Up here, it's...it's..."
"Beautiful," Donnie finished.
"What we didn't know was that just around the corner, was destiny. Or actually this kid that needed help," Mikey said.
A tall black haired boy was wearing a red shirt, blue jeans and sneakers. With him was another boy who was wearing glasses. They watched as the older boys were playing hockey in the streets.
"It's Danny McDonough and his wolf pack," The boy wearing glasses said.
"Man, these guys think they own the street," The taller boy whined. "How come they gotta play in front of my steps, Stevie?"
"I'll help you," Stevie explained, clenching his fist. "We'll stand up to them." He glanced over at the older boys nervously, gulping.
"I'd like to, but they'd just beat the crud out of us. You just go on around and go home," The taller boy told Stevie. "I'll be okay."
Stevie placed a hand on the taller boy's shoulder. "Be careful. I'll see you tomorrow." The taller boy waved as his friend left. As the taller boy turned to walk to his house, the older boys blocked him.
"Hey guys, here comes Arnie dork. You forgot to pay your toll yesterday. This here's our street!" Danny said, jerking his thumb to his gang.
"I...I don't want no trouble," the boy replied, nervously.
"Well, you got trouble." Danny said as he and his gang advance closer. The boy pushed past Danny and his gang and took off running. They chased as they skated after him.
In the alley, Raphael was standing on top of a dumpster.
"I am Raphael, king of the trash!" He exclaimed. The other three turtles climbed onto the dumpster, but Raph threw them off.
"Sorry, Raph," Leo said as he picked Raph up by his leg and knocked him down. "You're the trash and I'm the king!"
"All hail Leo! King of the trash can!" Mikey cheered. Suddenly, Donnie heard voices that were coming closer towards them.
"Guy's, somebody's coming," He told them. The boy ran into the alley while the four turtle tots hid underneath the dumpster. The boy saw that he was trapped as he was at an dead end. He leaned against the wall panting, trying to catch his breath. As he stood up to run away, his eyes widen.
"Oh crud," The boy muttered. He backed up as Danny and his gang skated towards him.
"Poor little fella," Danny said, smirking. "He ran into a dead end."
The four brothers cringed as they heard the boy getting beat up.
"Somebody ought to help that kid," Leo whispered.
"Yeah, finally some real action," Raph murmured, getting up, ready for a fight. But, Donnie stopped him.
"Remember, we can't be seen," He told them.
As the gang was beating the boy, a trash can suddenly came flying at them and hit one of them. "Ow! Hey man, what's your deal?" He shouted as he pushed one of his friends. Mikey threw a trash bag at one of them.
"Ow! Hey, cut it out!"
Then a rope was thrown at one of their feet, being pulled. One of the boys lost their balance and fell on top of Danny, placing his hand on Danny's shoulder.
"Hey, quit it!" Danny said. He turned towards the boy at their feet getting ready to beat him up some more.
"Danny! Lunch time!" Danny's mother called out. He turned to the boy.
"Next time, pay your toll if you want to use our street. Come on, we're outta here," Danny said as he and his gang left.
"That's when young "Master Leo" convinced us to help the kid out," Mikey said.
"To train him so he wouldn't need little green guardian angels all the time," Donnie added.
"We thought we already knew everything there was about ninjitsu, so how hard could teaching be?" Leo said.
"And it had to be better than being stuck in the sewers doing nothin'." Raph said.
"Okay," Leo explained as he turned to the other three turtles. He was wearing a red hat that covered his face, blue jeans, a yellow shirt and brown jacket. "You guys know the plan. We'll each take turns teaching the kid what we know. Agreed?"
"Agreed." The other three turtle tots saluted.
"But remember, guys," Donnie warned. "No matter what happens, we can't let Master Splinter know what we're up to."
Leo nodded and walked over to the boy as he was getting up. The boy groaned as he rubbed his arm. "Hey kid," He turned to Leo. "I saw what happened earlier. You know, you really shouldn't let those bullies push you around like that."
"Oh, it's no biggie," The boy rubbed his arm. "I'll heal."
"It IS a big deal," Leo argued. "It's a matter of honor! You can't surrender your honor so easily. The street belongs to everybody."
"Not for kids like you and me," The boy looked away crossing his arms. "I'm too small."
"No! Those guys are small because they have no heart and no honor. My sensei, my teacher, always taught me that true strength comes from within," Leo explained.
"Maybe, but how do you get it?" The boy asked.
"You train. You train in the art of self-defense," Leo said as he did some moves. The boy watched in awe. "I can help you, teach you." The boy smiled at him.
"Okay, then let's meet back here tomorrow, the same time." Leo said.
The next day, Leo and the boy were on the rooftop, sitting with their legs crossed. The boy was struggling.
"First of all, you have to be serious about wanting to change things. You have to feel the power, connect with the power. Find your inner core, your honor, your true heart. Have you found it yet?" Leo explained as the boy continued to struggle more.
"Uh, I don't think so. Uh, little dude, I can't feel my legs," The boy said.
"That's a good thing, stay focused and breathe and you'll find your true strength," Leo told him. As Leo watched the boy as he tried to meditate, his mind began to wonder back to yesterday with his encounter with the girl with pig tails.
"Uh, little dude, I don't think this is working." The boy said. Leo snapped out of his thoughts and looked at him. How long was he spaced out. His eyes widen. He needed to get back home, fast! Leo stood up. "Just keep practicing. You'll get it! I-uh, need to go to the bathroom. I'll be back!" He said, running.
At the turtle's old Lair, Mikey and Donnie were sparring. Splinter was watching them. Donnie jumped to kick but Mikey dodged it. "Excellent, Michelangelo. Donatello, lift your leg higher for the kick," Splinter instructed. Mikey knocked Donnie and he landed in front of Splinter. Donnie sat up, rubbing his head.
"Sorry, Master Splinter," He said. Splinter held his hand out and Donnie took it as Splinter helped him up.
"That is enough for now. You may rest, my son. It is Leonardo's turn to train," Splinter said as he turned to the couch. Raph was watching the TV with a stuffed bear, sitting next to him that was wearing Leo's mask and a T-shirt.
"Uh-oh, oh boy..." Raph muttered as he looked back as Splinter then back at the bear.
"Come Leonardo," Splinter called out.
"Master Splinter, we wanna keep practicing!" Mikey called out as he and Donnie tried to distract him.
"But it is Leonardo's turn," Splinter explained.
"Leo won't mind, will ya Leonardo?" Mikey called out. Raph lifted the stuffed bear's arm, waving at Splinter.
"Uh, wave if it's okay, Leonardo," Donnie said, nervously. Raph lifted the stuffed bear's arm, waving at Splinter.
"See? Leo doesn't mind." Mikey answered. Splinter frowned in suspicion.
"Uh, is this right, Master Splinter?" Mikey called out as he and Donnie began to spar.
"What about this leaping over the leg sweep?" Donnie asked. "I think I'm getting better!"
Splinter turned to them."I said enough practice. Leonardo, Leonardo?" He called as he began to walk over to the couch. Mikey and Donnie cringed as he got closer.
"This is it, it's all over! We are so cooked!" Mikey panicked as Splinter reached a hand out. Donnie and Mikey screamed. Raph immediately shut his eyes.
"Leonardo!" Splinter shouted as he placed his hand on Leo's shoulder.
"Yes, Master Splinter?" Leo answered. Splinter blinked in confusion.
"It is time for your practice," He explained.
"Oh, okay, coming sensei," Leo said, giving Raph a wink and a thumbs up. Raph returned it. Leo jumped over the couch and flipped, landing next to Splinter.
"Sorry I didn't answer earlier," Leo said as he rubbed his eyes and yawned. "I kind of dozed of there for a moment." He started his katas. Donnie and Mikey were watching Leo and Splinter. Donnie nodded to Mikey and he quietly slipped away without Splinter noticing.
On the rooftops, Mikey finished dressing up, wearing the same outfit that Leo was wearing. "Now the student has become the master," He chuckled as he walked over to the boy. "Ready for more learning?"
"Well, I've been trying to be serious and breathing stuff to find my inner strength like you said,...but kinda makes my head hurt," The boy said as he scratched his head. "And I still can't feel my legs."
"What, are you kidding me?" Mikey questioned. "Get up, get up!" He helped the boy up. "Forget all that baloney, the first and most important lesson is this: you need the right attitude!" The boy blinked, confused, looking at Mikey. "And part of having a winning attitude is having a cool battle cry! A heroic superhero battle cry, like in the comic books!"
"I got it! Goru guru sama!" Mikey exclaimed. The boy scratched his head, completely confused.
"Go ro ro bo...wha?" He questioned.
"Goru guru sama! It means Mister Thunder! Goru guru sama! It's perfect for you!" Mikey exclaimed. "If you yell out Goru guru sama while charging into battle, your foes will flee like cowards before you! Ooo I really wanna see that! Come on, let's try it!"
"Oh, they're just gonna cream us again," The boy complained as Mikey lead him into the alley until the two spotted Danny and his gang.
"Not with your cool battle cries!" Mikey told him as he pushed the boy towards the gang. "Remember, Goru guru sama. Now, go get 'em!"
The boy gulped then narrowed his eyes and walked over to Danny and his gang. He clenched his fists.
"Goru go bolo ama!" He shouted. The gang smirked and skated over towards the boy and began beating him up. Mikey cringed.
"Maybe I didn't give him the right name..." He murmured as he watched.
Donnie and Mikey met on the rooftops. Mikey took off his clothes and tosses them to Donnie.
"How's it going?" Donnie asked.
"Um, great," Mikey answered, hesitantly.
"Good, because I got something really special planned for them. They're gonna love it!" Donnie said as he put on the hat.
The boy sat across from Donnie looking down at a chessboard that was sitting in front of them. "It's really important to really think your actions through. It's all like a game of chess," Donnie explained. "You have to be thinking three to four moves ahead of your adversary. Planning, knowing what's coming."
The boy looked at the chessboard unsure of what to do and scratched his head. "Uh,..." Donnie tapped his finger on the table. He looked up at the boy, who still hadn't made a move. Hours seemed to passed, as Donnie had his head laid on the table and a pigeon landed on him. He looked up again to see that the boy still hadn't made a move.
"Well, it might take a little more time...for some people, I guess," Donnie said as he stood up. "I'll be right back." He left as the boy stared at the chessboard, thinking.
Donnie ran to Raph, handing him the clothes and tossed the hat on Raph's head. "Good luck," He told him. Raph quickly got dressed and ran over to the boy, sitting down.
"I've been studying the board like you said and I still don't get it. Like the horsey, though," The boy said as he held up the knight piece. "I'm trying to think it through, but I don't know."
"Listen guys, the first and most important lesson is to never think. Never! Just act and react and always attack!" Raph said.
"I sure wish you'd make up your mind. Be serious, use your battle cry, think it through, never think! I don't get it!" The boy shouted, confused.
"What you need are weapons. It's all about the weapons," Raph said. "We gotta find you some kind of weapon."
Raph looked at the chessboard before getting an idea. Across from Raph and the boy were three cans that were sitting on the ledge. Raph held the chess pieces in his hand and threw them, knocking down all three cans. "Ha!" He turned to the boy. "You try!"
"Uh...kay." The boy answered nervously, holding the chess pieces in his hand. He threw it but the pieces hit the wall and rebounded back towards him and Raph. Raph cringed.
"Hmm, maybe you just need a better target. Let's see how you do in combat," He said. Raph lead the boy into the alley.
"Now remember, focus on your weapon. It's all about the weapons!" He explained.
The boy threw the pieces at the gang but missed as the pieces landed near their feet. Raph cringed as he watched the boy get beat up by the gang.
"Maybe we need to work on the kid's aim a little...or find him a different weapon." He murmured.
Back in the Lair, Mikey, Donnie and Leo stood across from Splinter as he stood in front of them. "Now, I wish for you to take what you have learned and use it in pairs. Michelangelo and Leonardo, Donatello, and Raphael," Splinter raised an eyebrow, seeing that Raph wasn't there. "Where is Raphael?"
"He's in the shower?" Donnie answered, nervously, jerking his thumb.
"Yeah, yeah, he's in the shower," All three turtle tots said together. Leo smiled sheepishly. Splinter gave them a suspicious look.
"You four have been acting very strangely of late," He pointed out.
"Uh, Raphael, it's time to get out of the shower!" Leo shouted, running off. Donnie and Mikey smiled sheepishly and followed after him. Splinter had a confused look on his face watching them leave. Raph walked in as the others ran over to him. "Raphael!"
"Raphie, hold still!" Mikey told him and Leo dumped a bucket of water on Raph.
"There."
"What was that for?!" Raph demanded.
"You just got out of the shower," Leo whispered. Raph turned to Leo and growled until he saw Splinter walking up to them with a stern look on his face.
"I just got out of the shower, sensei," Raph explained. All four smiled sheepishly as they looked up at Splinter.
"Hmm, I can see that," Splinter answered, hesitantly, crossing his arms."Do you always shower with your mask on?"
"Uhh, yeah, it's a great way to keep it clean!" Raph said. Splinter gives him a questionable look, shaking his head.
"Come, let us resume your training,"
In the alley, Leo, who was wearing clothes again, stood with the boy. "Okay, now it's time to try out what you've learned, to face your enemies."
"But you already made us face 'em, twice!" The boy pointed out. "And they creamed me both times!"
"Em, I did?" Leo asked, confused. "Well, let's try it again, using everything you've learned." He pushes the boy towards the gang. Standing back, watching, Leo saw his brothers walking over towards him.
"So, you think he learned anything?" Mikey questioned.
"I hope so. I mean, you taught him self-defense, right, Mikey?" Leo asked in response. "How to punch and kick? And I covered inner strength."
"I didn't teach him any fighting skills," Mikey answered, confused. "I thought Raph was gonna."
"I didn't," Raph shook his head. "Donnie, did you?"
"Oh shell," Donnie muttered in realization.
"Go so bo gara!" The boy shouted. The four turtle tots cringed as they saw the gang beat the boy up again.
"Okay, we're gonna start over," Leo said. "But this time with the real basics."
"Right!' Mikey commented. "Or as Master Splinter would say, "the foundation of any house must start strong and-" A shadow towered over them and Mikey made a girlish scream as Splinter stood over them.
"Master Splinter!" The four turtles exclaimed.
They gasped, seeing Splinter was not happy. He was furious.
"Um, Master Splinter, we can explain," Donnie explained. "We've been teaching."
"Like you!" Mikey exclaimed. "But not as good as you."
"You know, trying to follow in your footsteps?" Leo asked, sheepishly.
"There's this kid and-" Raph started to add but Splinter hold his hand up.
"Enough! Home, now!" He snapped, angrily, crossing his arms.
"But...the kid," Raph protested.
"We can't just abandon him," Mikey defended.
"You are not ready to teach! You could do more damage than good. The child must find his own path, as you must find yours. Now come, we are going home," Splinter told them. All four turtle tots whined as the hang their heads down.
Everyone busted out laughing out loud. "Oh man, was Splinter angry!" Mikey exclaimed.
"He must have made us practice for 78 hours straight," Leo recalled.
"I think he wanted to make sure we were so tired, we wouldn't be able to go topside," Donnie said.
"So whatever happened to this kid, anyway?" April wondered, raising an eyebrow. The four turtles looked at each other.
"You know, I don't know," Leo answered, shaking his head.
The boy was walking down the street with a solemn look on his face. "I'll just have to tell that kid in the red hat the training isn't working. Guess I don't have what it takes."
"Hey geek boy, doing a little reading?" He heard and looked up to see Stevie being picked on by Danny and his gang. "Oh, you're gonna cry? Oh look, he's gonna cry!"
"Give it back!" Stevie shouted as he tried to grab for his book.
"Stevie?" The boy asked, before narrowing his eyes, growling.
"What are you gonna do about it?" The gang asked before hearing a loud scream until Danny was punched to the ground. The others skated towards the boy. The boy ducked, causing one to wack the other with his hockey stick. He grabbed the stick and punched the older boy in the stomach and the face. Danny got up with a stick in hand seeing the boy knocking his gang down like they were nothing. He growled and skated over to him striking with his stick. The boy blocked it, striking back until he knocked Danny off of his feet making him fall to the ground.
He looked up at the boy in fear before he and his gang skated away, leaving him and Stevie alone.
"That's right, you better run!" The boy exclaimed. "You bullies better watch it, because Arnold Casey Jones aren't letting you push nobody around anymore!"
"Gora...gora...Goongala! Goongala! Goongala!" He roared out loud as his voice echoed throughout the streets.
"Wow," Stevie said in awe with his mouth slightly dropped. Casey walked over to him and handed Stevie his book.
"Come on, Stevie, I'll walk you home."

Top 5 favorite characters from TMNT 2012? :p
Wow, that’s a tough one, it’s like a mother picking her favorite child. I love all the characters in tmnt 2012 but heres my top 5!
5. Slash
Tumblr media
Originally I was going to say Leatherhead but my love for Slash began to grow over time. Heck, one of my favorite episodes was his introduction. As a villain or as an ally he’s still entertaining to watch, though I do wish he was a villain for a bit longer. I love his development and how he turned from a psycho to a caring leader and I like his friendship with his team and Raph. Funny thing is I have a weakness for villains turning good, as you can see from #4 as well...
4. Oroku Karai
Tumblr media
She was originally my favorite character in the show but that change over time. Maybe it’s because there was a point in the show when she was “missing” for most of season 3 and didn’t return until half way through season 4. My love for her I guess you could say faded but when she returned I was very happy. Her introduction episode was actually my first episode of tmnt 2012 and it’s what got me hooked. I love how confident and skilled she is as a fighter and even as a mutant snake she’s still a badass. Some people say she’s overrated and I can agree but I still love her. She’s fun to watch and it amazes me how much she changed throughout the show.
3. Renet Tilley
Tumblr media
What can I say? This girl is fun to watch! She’s clumsy yet smart, kind but still kicks butt, and her relationship with Mikey is sweet. She’s unique and I enjoy her character. I feel she’s very underrated and I don’t know why. She’s funny and what makes her interesting is that she’s not perfect. She has flaws, she does screwup and that’s what makes her enjoyable. She’s relatable. Shes perfectly imperfect.
2. Raphael
Tumblr media
I had to add a turtle on here. I feel like it’s a law. Here’s a fun fact, when I first started watching tmnt 2012, I didn’t care for Raph. He never really got my attention. Mikey was actually my favorite in the beginning, but then halfway through season 2 I began to enjoy Raph. His character started to interest me. I began to realized that I relate to him. Growing up I had a temper problem and I used to be jealous of my older sibling. I guess I emotionally bonded to Raph because of that, then by season 4 he officially became my favorite turtle and then I started shipping him with her...
1. Mona Lisa/Y’gythgba
Tumblr media
What a woman! Just like Raph this girl won my heart. She’s strong, independent, a great fighter and a total badass. She became not just my favorite female character but my favorite character in tmnt. While karai got me hooked to the show, Mona Lisa was one of the reasons I kept watching. I love her character and I love her relationship with Raph ramona forever. She was a great character but the writers didn’t give her proper treatment in the show at times, like forgetting that she a member of the mighty mutantanimals, which upsets me but I love her anyway. She’s an awesome character that I love so much and I hope I see her in future incarnations of tmnt.

TMNT: Bad Blood Chapter 2 (Part 2)
April walked around me in a circle analyzing my ensemble. Satisfied, she nodded her head and replied, “If I didn’t know it was you, I would think you to be some servant or a commoner. But the real question is how do we sneak you out of here dressed like that? I’m sure Slash and Leatherhead would think it odd that you are wearing a servant gown and report it to your father.”
“Don’t worry I have a plan for those two.” I replied mysteriously.
“Oh, are you going to knock them out with your ninja moves?” April asked excitedly while karate chopping the air.
“No. I’m going walk out the door in a cloak, so no one suspect anything.” I replied amused by my friend’s fiery and battle-ready attitude.
“Well that’s boring but I guess it will work out the same way.” She said while grabbing my favorite cloak. I put in on and grabbed a basket. I then nodded to the door. We walked up to it and clutched my cloak tighter to my body as April opened the door.
“Where are you going, Your Highness? If it isn’t to bold to ask.” Leatherhead asked suspiciously. I froze then put on a smile as I turned to face my two royal guards.
“I do not find your question bold at all, my friend. I decided that I want to take a walk in the gardens. The flowers are so beautiful now that the summer sun is ending. I brought along this basket,” I said while holding the basket up and continued, “to bring some blossoms back to liven up my chambers.” I concluded with a smile on my face while I internally hoped they would believe my partial lie. Leatherhead nodded but Slash looked unconvinced. He knows me too well.
“Does your father know of your plans?” He asked with a dubious look on his face, trying to catch my lie.
I kept my body language and voice relaxed and unsuspecting as I answered, “Yes. My father said I could roam about without a guard if I remained on palace grounds. And April has agreed to escort me to make sure I stay out of trouble and presentable for incoming guests.”
He studied me for a moment trying to deduce if I was lying or not. Then he looked to April who was for the most part looking calm. I noticed slight tension in her shoulders, but it could be as impatience. Slash must have been satisfied with what he saw because with a bow of his head, he released us to continue about his business. I glanced at April and she understood my look. We both turned and fast walked to the spiral staircase that lead down to the palace doors.
“Now what?” April asked as we briskly exited the palace doors. I checked the palace gardens and saw a couple of guards placed on the palace gate to keep look out in case of any threats trying to attack the castle. The rest of the guards were probably still training or getting ready to start their rounds. I started to walk towards the stable while also staying out of the view of the guards.
I motioned for April to stay quiet and follow me to the stables. Once we made it to the stable, I replied, “Now we take a couple of horses and go riding.”
“Where would you be riding off to, Princess?” A voice asked from inside the stable. Ugh, I knew that voice. I stepped inside the stables and crossed my arms over my chest. “And why are you dressed like that, Your Highness?” He said my title with a sarcastic tone in his voice. “Hey, Red. Long time no see?” He said while looking at April.
“It obviously wasn’t long enough.” April said with a smirk on her face. Casey grinned and cocked an eyebrow. Casey was wearing his signature black tunic and trousers. He was covered in sweat and had some straw pieces stuck in his ruffled, black hair. He was leaning on a pitchfork as he leaned forward with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. Casey Jones is the son of General Jones who is one of the leading generals one of my father’s army. Casey and I grew up together and trained together. He is currently in training to follow in his father’s footsteps. He is also my partner in crime when we create mischief around the palace.
“What are you doing out of your tower, Princess? I thought Daddy had you under lock and key.” Casey asked me while keeping that annoying signature smirk on his face.
“Ha, Ha, Ha, very funny. What are you doing on a stable duty?” I countered to my good friend.
Casey snorted then answered, “My dad placed me on stable duty because he said I lack discipline and need to control my temper.” He then slammed the pitchfork into another pile of hay. “I don’t have a temper! And I don’t need discipline!”
“Clearly.” I replied. I then continued, “How would you like to go for a ride with me and April? It beats shoveling horse manure.”
Casey laughed then replied, “Sure. What do I have to lose? I’m already on horse clean up.” Casey dropped his pitchfork and took off his working gloves. He then brushed the straw out of his hair and started walking to one of the horse stalls. “How many horses do you want?”
“Three, please.” I replied.
Casey brought out my favorite horse, Picasso, then asked with quirked eyebrow, “Are you sure you don’t want to take two horses? Red and I can double up on one.” He turned and winked at April.
April rolled her eyes and replied, “Casey Jones. I would not get on a horse with you even if we were being pursued by the Foot and there was only one horse left.” Casey let out a low whistle at April’s comment then put his hands up in mock surrender motion.
“Can you two stop for one minute?” I practically yelled in exasperation. I love my two friends dearly but sometimes their banter would get to annoying to handle. I know April and Casey care for each other and Casey genuinely likes April (even though he practically flirts with every girl in the kingdom). However; I am unsure if April likes he the same way or if she only views him as a friend. I don’t know of any other man that she talks to.
Casey and April both looked ashamed and I felt a little bad for snapping at them. “Let’s just get our horses and get out of here. The guards are going to start making their rounds around the garden soon.” I said to my friends while hurriedly strapping a saddle to Picasso. They followed suit on their horses, Meg and Nix. “You guys ready?” I asked while mounting Picasso. Casey finished helping April mount her horse then mounted his own. Then we rode out of the stables into the hidden opening in the woods.

AU Facts - re-post
I was informed it's hard to get the first one to load so I don't know what's going on but I'll put it on here again just in case
Sorry guys
My Alternate Universe follows a similar timeline to the 2014/16 movies but unlike that it differs in many ways, the turtles are a bit older and differ in age –this is due to having to replace subjects due to one or all passing from not being able to survive the shots they were given, work side by side with the cops after the Krangg invasion, they have a baby sister who they not only saved but was raised alongside them by Master Splinter
Before anyone points it out the AU does have several different story timelines it follows – Raven was saved by Raph in one having found her alone in the sewers, in another he snuck up to the surface without permission and stumbled across the scene where two people were being harassed by the Foot in the end the little girl watches the men murder her mother as the young turtle tries to stop it… then there is one where the turtles never find the little girl and instead she grows up on the streets where she’s homeless and hunted by not only the Foot but also the Purple Dragons, in this timeline Raven saves Raphael from freezing to death after he’s hurt in a fight
I do tend to write poly relationships/one on one relationships
The OC Raven was originally from a book I was writing back in High School – in it she is a mutant who can absorb abilities (Like Rouge only the ability becomes hers making her dangerous to everyone around her) as a child she absorbed her guardian angel and the she fox who killed her making her the embodiment of something similar to the ying yang – beautifully innocent yet deadly, after that she is forced to carry a demon within her that tends to take over from time to time, so I did mutate her in one of my series where Sacks scientist actually force fox DNA into her with the mutagen and since in the AU the teenager has the DNA of a small species of turtle it mixes bad becoming unstable and creates a monster she struggles to control (Same as in the book)
Enemies include:  Shredder and the Foot clan, General Krangg, Hun and the Purple Dragon’s
The turtles have several allies other than April O’Neal, Vern, and Casey Jones, this world also includes Leatherhead who lives off in a substation close to where their original lair existed down by the docks (So far they have had four homes in their lives), they also have a few other human allies which includes a blind man that runs a thrift store with his wife and daughter where the family get most of their newer cloths Raven fixes for them, a girl who works at a pizza shop and Chinese restaurant that coexist in the same building who gives them the leftovers they are going to throw out, and a few homeless people who stay near where their bridge exit – not including the NYPD
Leatherhead met the turtles when they rescued him from a lab the Foot were operating out of, the massive croc has a uncontrollable rage point that erupts without warning and much like the turtles he doesn’t trust humans, they found him a home where he could be safe and no human’s would be able to get near his home on the other side of the abandoned tunnels never thinking a human would actually go there willingly – also forgetting a certain teenage girl happened to go hang out in those tunnels from time to time
The first time Raven runs into the croc she is wondering around and steps into his lair without knowing she was in danger
Giving she’s never feared her family she doesn’t move a muscle when what she originally thought was Raphael turned out to be a giant mutant crocodile man, she attempts to calm him before he attacks her - she gets hurt trying to outrun him knowing the sewers far better than him she slips away by taking a tunnel only to slam right into the mutant once again just as one of her brother’s comes to rescue her having heard the screams
The turtles had mentioned they had a little sister but had never thought the two would meet but after she had apologized for trespassing in his home the two somehow became the best of friends
Leatherhead having been raised in the labs is incredibly smart and enjoys spending time in Donatello’s lab while visiting his friends if he’s not hanging out with Mikey or being spoiled by Raven who makes him tons of food while he is there
Although the croc his bigger then the turtles he his only a few years older then the teen girl
The first lair was down a few miles from the docks where the turtles and Splinter lived until they were old enough to move without the rat having to carry them, the second lair (Lair we see in the first movie) was destroyed by the foot and Shredder, the third was a station that was long forgotten where they stayed for a year before finding their current home where they have been for five years
This Lair is massive having three levels underground and an above ground Garage where they keep their vehicles so they don’t disturb their father while working on them or heading out late at night.
The main parts of the lair are all in one large room decorated like an underground amusement park equipped with a water slide with smaller rooms built up off to the sides including the huge kitchen, a dojo, a weight room, the lab and needle room reside off to the back where they have a TV room and a rear exit, Splinter’s garden room that connects to his bedroom, and a small bathroom right under the stairs.
Each of the turtles have their own room set up the way they like upstairs of the home overlooking the den and dining area, a separate set of stairs goes to an underground area where there is a pool and basking area for hot summer days and showers in a separate area set up like a locker room
The ages of the turtles vary depending on when I’m writing so per usual I try to write them when they were teens but most storied are going in their early twenties. Ages for the turtles range in stories from 10, 12, 15, (18 – 26 ç the most) and as always Leo is oldest followed by Raph, then Donnie, and Mikey is the baby of the brothers
  Leonardo – The oldest
Leonardo was the only baby turtle from the original first four to survive the mutagen shots where as his sisters from the clutch never hatched
As a toddler this sweet boy clung to Splinter just as much as his baby brother and was the first to show his true personality
The blue banded ninja is the same loveable yet anal older brother we all adore, but he is much stricter than most people are used too and tends to sound extremely cold even if he doesn’t mean too at times/he can come off as a jerk which he tries to avoid.
As the oldest and the leader of the clan he carried a lot on his shoulders even if his younger siblings try to help him he’s not too keen on letting them
He was the first of his brother’s to be allowed to go with Splinter on junk runs since he was very obedient to his father’s orders even if he had a small tendency to goof off from time to time
He tends to argue with Raphael over everything from why he’s leader to why the hotheaded turtle can’t go out to the surface most days, he leads the team in practice and training daily, spends a good portion of his days training, improving his katas, and meditating
He tries to loosen up from time to time so he’s not always the serious turtle that constantly has a perpetual stick up his ass, on those days he plays video games with Mikey or works out with Raph getting into competitions with his brother that he tends to lose at, sometimes if Donnie has a lot on his plate he will go and help with smaller projects
Leo can’t cook even though he tries to much to his siblings dismay, he is skilled in sewing, loves to read and tends to try new things to see if he likes them every other month
  Raphael – Second oldest
Raphael was the only surviving hatchling from the next clutch of eggs due to the others fell ill and died within the first two months due to poor diets, he was left in his tank alone and fell ill of a broken heart shortly after his brothers and sister died, looking as if he would pass too April O’Neal placed him in with the older baby turtle hoping he would be comforted if he did perish – instead Raphael got better and when he took to Leonardo the scientist kept him in the tank to be sure he wouldn’t fall sick again.
Do to the trauma of losing his siblings early on the turtle became protective of Leo, Donnie, and Mikey once they were in the tank not allowing anyone except April and her father to pick them up
As a rambunctious toddler Raphael was the more curious wonderer so Splinter had to find a playpen to keep him and Donnie in so they didn’t run off until he found a heating lamp then the rowdy tot was never far from it always basking if he wasn’t playing
As the biggest turtle he comes off as intimidating and has the temper and attitude to back it up but around his family he is more laid back. As the second oldest he butts heads with his brothers – mostly Leonardo several times a day due to they are both alphas and only a few months apart in age – but it’s more to just keep the leader on his toes then to be an ass
Raphael spends a good portion of his day lifting his weights, breaking his punching bag, making repairs around the lair, working in the garage, or wondering around the sewers if he’s not in his room or screwing with Leo
Raphael is actually the one who saved Raven when he was only ten bringing her home and caring for the girl while she was weak
The red masked turtle is quite the handy man so it takes a lot off what Don has to do in the lair when it comes to furniture being broken or having to repair pipes other than the electronics from time to time, he also enjoys working in the garage on his motorcycle when he needs some alone time… this tends to happen more than ever when you have three brothers that piss you off on a regular bases
At night if the brother’s don’t go out for patrol or have an easy night he sneaks out to meet Casey to ride bikes and patrol the city
And yes because I’m a sucker for it he does dress up as Nightwatcher without his family knowing to go out and fight crime, I had to give the hothead a motorcycle for him to ride but in actuality he had 2-3 he works on
He tries to not show it but he’s very protective of his family and cares for his brothers a lot , especially his two younger siblings, and as mean and off putting as he tried to come off he’s still a giant teddy bear with a really big heart that comforts the others when needed
Raphael loves knitting, carving little wooden figures, and cooking. He has his own play system in his room with his own TV but Mikey doesn’t mind him playing him on the one in the den if he’s not pumping weights
  Donatello – Third Oldest
Donnie was actually the only egg to be brought in for the next test probably because it was the only one they could find so late in the season, he was perfectly healthy to their surprise.
When placed in the tank with Leo and Raph he didn’t take to them right away tending to stay far away from the two other males who were inseparable but given time Raph wouldn’t leave him alone and started dragging him around the cage by his carapace when he would retract into his shell to hide from them taking him to the food where the other two stayed sitting there with the turtle until he came out to eat, afterwards the third turtle was never far from the others
Even at these ages he showed higher than normal intelligence able to find ways to escape their tanks
By the time he was a toddler he was already interested in things having created their first toy from scrap parts until they had a car that drove around the home on its own it acted at a motivation in getting his baby brother to crawl as he chased it
Our sweet purple banded genius is still a genius so I didn’t change him by much
Donnie spends every waking hour in his lab if he’s not training, having to fix the security systems that surround their liar, or repairing the things his brothers break every other day, he also has three areas inside their home that belong to him
The Lab, his computer station, and his room
He’s a coffee addict so Leonardo and Master Splinter have set a limit on his caffeine intake although being Donnie he has his own coffee pot hidden in the lab so he still drinks more then he’s supposed to, his siblings constantly have to pull him from the lab to eat if they don’t just bring his food to him otherwise he would forget completely
The genius and his family built onto their home over the years so because of that each of the turtles now have their own rooms and a portion of the lair that belongs to them separately
Donatello created the lair from top to bottom making all their electronics, appliances, ect. So he tends to joke when Leo tries to boss him around
  Michelangelo – Youngest
Mikey sadly was the only egg in his clutch of ten to survive but was born sick due to he had a twin that had died in the egg while inside with him, because he was the only egg to survive in over a year they cared for him round the clock until he was well enough to be placed in the tank with the other three turtles even though he was too small to fend for himself but never had too.
It was instant that the other three became protective of the tiny turtle caring for him
Because he was so tiny he liked to ride around on his brother’s shells while they wondered around the tank of hide under them while they were standing
The scientist had a hard time getting the smallest turtle away from his brothers since they were always huddled around him, Raphael and Leonardo brought the youngest two plenty of food before they would eat while Donatello would lie beside him protectively until the older two were back from their bowl
It was because of how territorial the older three were that they were all placed in separate tanks that sat side by side in a square so they could all see one another allowed to be in the same tank while April was in the lab playing with them
Michelangelo is our little prankster/skater boy
This loveable little turtle is just as we have always seen him - he can be the biggest pain in Raphael’s butt wreaking Donnie’s lab like a tornado joking off in the dojo while Leo’s trying to continue training but still somehow being that innocent angel in his father’s eyes all in the same ten minutes
Because of how small he was when he hatched Mikey is smaller than his brothers – this is more of his size then age but it makes it easy to see he’s the baby brother in all aspects
When he’s not messing with his brothers or getting one somebody’s nerves Mikey spends a good portion of his time either playing video games, reading his comics, or tagging the lair with his art while nobody’s paying him any mind – he has even done a wall in each of his siblings rooms in honor of something he loves about them making a memorial for each room
When it comes that time of year the orange banded turtle is the one to start the parties, planning the biggest bashes with the help of their sister they never fail to impress weather it’s a birthday party of Christmas
Mikey has the potential to be better than his older brothers, he’s much faster, skilled, and the shortness comes in handy he’s too laid back to really try
  Raven – the baby
She’s a curvy yet slim beauty with pale porcelain skin, long black curly locks she wears in a bun of ponytail at all times, and emerald green eyes, she’s only 5’6 so she’s constantly teased for being short by her brothers, the young girl hasn’t always been with the mutant family
She was abandoned in the sewers when she was very young and somehow survived on her own for months before stumbling upon Raphael while he was out blowing off steam after a fight with Leonardo, she followed the turtle from a distance curious about him until he realizes she’s there. She hides in a tunnel when he turns but doesn’t try to run from him when he came to investigate only to find a sick and thin form
He rushes her to Donatello who had recently started learning everything he can from several medical books after finishing the physics and the thesaurus collections Master Splinter has found him while scavenging threw a junk yard or walking past a dumpster. She’s really sick and they all expect her to never make it but a few days later she’s just as active as any normal child would even though she’s still ill
It was guessed Raph had to have been the only person she had seen in a long time but for a child she looks at them as if they are no different from the tiny human girl and the longer they are around the child the more they learn about the strange child their brother brought home
At first glance the girl seems like any normal kid – curious about everything she sees and gets into, she loves to watch them while they play games or sits close by while they are watching movies, after a while she goes to them sitting in their laps as they read or watch cartoons… Then come the day they find she is far from normal
Raven hates enclosed or tiny spaces unless she finds one she likes, has major abandonment issues, and more surprising to the family the girl hates humans more than her fear of snakes
By the age of five Splinter lets her join in with the turtles in their practices but doesn’t start fully training her until she is twelve when he comes home from a walk to sees her playing with a broom stick like it was a bo or a sword sparring with her brothers as they practice their team attacks, he stays back watching the girl holding her own against the turtles who at that time were teenagers – seeing the potential she has he started her training pushing her just as hard as he does his sons
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
v  The turtles don’t wear their full gear while relaxing in the lair – just pants and masks if it’s an off day – hoodies that are customized to fit over their shells during winter
v  As they get older they are not required to train but do it anyways now that Leo has started leading the training practices while their father watches from his seat to keep an eye on the teen girl
v  Splinter lived in the lab the turtles and him were created for three years before being freed into the sewers
v  All of them have different eye and skin colors:
~ Leo has some of the deepest icy sky blue eyes and leaf green skin
~ Raph has golden orbs with emerald green skin
~ Donnie has honey brown eyes and olive green flesh
~ Mikey has the prettiest baby blues and a light sea green coloring to his skin
v  Like the turtle’s Raven is skilled in several things – having taught herself to cook and bake, loves to sew and after years of practice became good enough to repair and make clothes for her family, does most of the cleaning in the lair just out of boredom… learned mechanics and how to work on cars by watching Donnie and Raph
v  Leonardo and Raphael are both 26 but a few months apart in age, Donnie is six months younger then Raph (25-26 depending on the time of the year), Mikey is a year younger than his three older brothers (24-25)
v  None of the turtles are actual blood siblings
v  Raphael even though he cares for the girl deeply starts to push her away a few years after she comes to live with them fearing he will hurt her if he lets her too close but slowly she breaks his walls down considering him her best friend even though he acts like he hates her
v  The guys have rap battles at random to roast each other
v  Donatello was practically blind so his brothers had to lead him around until he figured out where everything was in their home until he was eight when Splinter was able find him some glasses in the garbage but as he got older the frames were smashed several times so he found a way to make his own to his prescription and now just orders them when he needs a new pair
v  Splinter started teaching the little girl ninjitsu at the age of 5 – she may be years behind her older siblings but the rat saw fit that she start earlier then his sons   (Boys started when they were 8)
v  3 nights out of the week are family nights so they have dinner together usually a homemade meal before either watching movies or playing games together, very rare is when Splinter is out of the lair do the siblings head to the surface to hang out for fun
v  Mikey clings to Raphael more than his other brothers
v  The teen gets several smaller jobs to help support the family once she learns to deal with her deep set fear of the humans bringing in more money for their needs, she is more mature than girls her own age and can sometimes act more like a mom rather than the youngest sibling
v  Michelangelo having painted every room in the lair goes out to the tunnels around the home to work on his art, or takes off to Leatherheads part of the tunnels to get some peace and quiet from his brothers
v  Leonardo’s love for Japanese culture was so intense he not only learned to speak the language he uses it almost as much as he does English becoming fluent by the age of thirteen, his room is decorated with art and writings from the country his brother’s managed to get over the internet
v  On junkyard runs Raphael hangs back watching for danger while guarding Don’s shell before making his way to the front to feed the guard dogs playing with them and the puppies while his brothers look for things for their home so he can see the night security building and warn them if he leaves
v  Donatello carried two jobs at the age of fifteen as not only a computer technician but also as a customer service assistant for people having trouble with their systems
v  When younger they had to teach the girl several things – at the age of four even with very little physical contact with people of any kind the girl had a full vocabulary and to an extent could read but her way of speaking was confusing
v  She was fascinated with  horror films of any kind that even the turtles couldn’t watch
v  Birthdays were never really celebrated until they had a home but each of the turtles picked a day they wanted to celebrate their birthdays on: Leo picked February 13, Raphael May 11, Donnie picked November 20, and Mikey being the goof he is picked October 31. Raven’s real birthday actually falls the day after Raphael’s on May 12 but she always forgets it going all out for her brothers – usually they remind her
v  Mikey and Raph takes shifts cooking with the teen during the week
v  Like Donnie, Raven is a coffee addict
v  Raphael actually has a good voice and when younger used to sing to his brothers – now you have to tempt it out of him when he’s either in a really good mood or drunk
v  They choose nights when they go solo
v  Patrols are never in groups unless it’s a mission, they split into teams to patrol parts of the city on more difficult nights but on the easy nights they divide the city into four parts each turtle taking a portion
v  They take turns being teamed up with their human sister
v  Splinter has a soft spot of animals and tends to be unable to say no when one of his children bring home a stray pet – he loves Mikey’s kitten
v  The first time one of them (Donatello) got hurt in front of her during training the little girl had whimpered running to the turtle’s side looking the wound over before trying to clean the wound herself – Mikey practically ran screaming in horror to get their father as the little girl licked the wound to stop the blood… (It’s gross but she grew up without proper role models so seeing animals cleaning wounds on the streets stuck with her)
v  Mikey was the one to figure out the child they took in was smart when she accidentally hacked into Donatello’s computer to get the parental lock off the youngest turtles game system
v  Donnie buys groceries by using the online orders having them delivered to the building just over the lair where Raven or Casey poses as the owners of a small business and the teen travels to the store only for small items
v  None of the mutants knew the girl was good with electronics until she was playing with her computer he had made her and managed to unlock Don’s system playing one of his games with him before they even knew she was doing so
v  Raphael’s favorite treat is brownies
v  Raven being raised alongside the guys had to learn not only how to fight and protect herself she was taught how to keep up with them being slightly slower, jump over areas no human could manage, and hide in an instant before she was allowed out of the sewers with them so they played games to prepare her for things that may happen on the surface
v  The very first time they ever took the girl to the surface was with her brother’s for a junkyard run that was supposed to be an easy night; it turned into a fight for their lives. The turtles finally seeing that the innocent kid had a much darker side when they were in trouble. She fought several men hand to hand with ease before ultimately killing two Foot soldiers before she even realized she had done so
v  The guys take great joy in teasing their baby sister for being so small or pushing her into doing things they would have gotten in trouble for – Splinter never disciplines her for them if his sons were involved
v  Raphael looks to Leo for advice when he really needs it even though they fight alot
v  Although she doesn’t get sent in there a lot the teen’s punishment in the Ha’shi is to stand/balance on a bamboo pole with one foot while doing anything from stitching clothes or reading her textbooks to force the girl to focus her mind
v  Raphael and Leonardo are usually the ones the teenager is teamed up with being the most protective of the girl, the other reason is nether of the younger turtles keep that good of an eye trusting her to keep with them. Donnie’s mind is always wondering and Mikey get distracted
v  Raven having been told to stay away from Leatherheads place without one of her brothers with her fearing their friend could hurt her if he doesn’t recognize her never listens to them, she tends to believe the mutant would never hurt her on purpose and always gives him the benefit of doubt. Somehow the two are the best of friends even though she risk her life every time she steps foot into his home
v  The kanji carved into Raphael’s shoulder is a constant reminder to watch his temper after flying into a rage in the middle of a sparring session with Leo in which Leo caught him with his sword accident cutting his brother over his lip unable to dodge fast enough when Raph attacked raking  the longest prong across his brother’s eye almost taking it out leaving the scar over Leo’s eye once it healed, after being sure his big brother would be okay he ran to his room and cut the symbol into his flesh without his father knowing until he fell ill when it got infected
v  Raven  although with her fears of human’s warmed up to April within hours of them meeting due to the young reporter found the girl’s weakness (Coffee)but Raven took well over a year to warm up to Casey never getting to close to the man while he was conscious still not fully trusting him but after seeing her brother’s screwing with the man for fun she makes an effort to sneak attack him the moment he gets to the lair finding it funny when Mikey shouts out the score
v  Mikey has a small fluffy white, orange, and gray kitten he named sweetie after he rescued the poor baby from the tunnels without his brothers knowing hiding the sweet little fur ball in his room until the morning it got out and attacked Leo’s leg while he was meditating – it is never to be spoke of since Leonardo never heard the tint angel playing beside him screaming just before he fell off his meditation perch just as Raphael finished his workout causing him to be mocked for weeks afterwards – and due to it being able to get the best of the blue banded turtle the kitten is practically worshiped by the others
v  With enough begging from the young girl each of the turtles have been forced to have a peel off face mask at least once in their lives – Mikey’s the only one who willingly gets one every week when April comes over to do one on the girl
v  Leo tells the lamest jokes but yet there are still funny
v  Raphael had a Pitbull puppy when he was a kid but had to rehome her due to she didn’t like Donnie walking through the lair late at night
v  When the weather gets bad or the tunnels are flooded around their home the teen makes the family pot roast stew and small sweet treats to cheer up her cabin fever ridden siblings always making plenty so they have tons of extras – as soon as the guys are busy she dishes up a few servings into several tuber wear bowls making sure they will survive the journey before slipping out of the home. Due to where he lives it’s hard for him to get out and find food once the seasons grow cold so the family tends to bring him groceries at least twice a month. Making her way through the overflowing tunnels to his home to be sure he’s fed – she’s sure to check and watch her back while wading through the deep water just in case he’s out finding the croc is always grateful for her caring thoughts and food
v  They created a personal holiday where one day out of the year Mikey can’t pull pranks or be annoying – they also have on the same day where everyone has to prank one another and the loser actually does chores for a few months  by themselves and Mikey usually loses
v  When hurt of upset the teen shuts down – she never shows weakness and rarely cries in front of the family
v  Being older brother’s each of the guys taught the human girl something  personally even though she learned a lot by just watching them:  Leonardo helps her one on one in the dojo to achieve her lessons faster if she’s having trouble while also teaching her to speak several different languages so if the need arises she can pull off any disguise and throw off enemies, Raphael even though told not to by their Master taught the girl to drive not only the garbage truck but to also operate a motorcycle before she was fifteen got in trouble then took to teaching her several fighting skills, Donnie being the educated turtle saw the curiosity the girl at a very young age and started teaching her several things from medical training so if he’s not around she could deal with injuries of all severities to honing her hacking skills until she is just as good as him, Michelangelo taught the girl how to swim and draw finding a hidden talent she possessed for awesome anime characters
v  Even though the teen plays stupid around others she’s just as smart as her older brothers and acts as though she’s older then the turtles
v  Raphael spends the most time next to Leonardo in the Ha’shi – Mikey is in close third whereas Donnie rarely gets sent into the room unless he’s in the middle of something with his brothers
v  To stop Donatello from licking the icing off their pop tarts the young woman buys the genius coffee flavored so he will eat the entire thing practically abolishing his nasty habit but his brother’s still hide their breakfast items
v  Raph has several tattoos including one for each of his family members
v  The guys tend to go into a hibernated like state during the winter making it harder to wake them
v  Michelangelo, Donatello, and Leonardo get sick at least two times a year whereas Raphael is rarely ever sick but it was always easy to tell when they weren’t feeling well.
~ Mikey would act like he was completely helpless and whoever was taking care of him would practically have to do everything for him – he turns into a child that constantly needs cuddles.
~ Donatello was usually always sick since it seemed like his immune system was slightly weaker than the others, so he locks his self in the lab going over everything he could find on the internet thinking he had something that was worse than just a cold – in the end where he would only be down for a day or two it’s dragged out into a week-long ordeal.
~ Leonardo basically sleeps for hours as if Donnie would have drugged him; the oldest turtle becomes completely unresponsive to the world easily knocked out cold from the smallest illness so nothing disturbs him no matter how loud Mikey tries to be
~ Raphael, when he does manage to come down with something turns into that giant teddy bear he is on the inside becoming strangely affectionate and needy to any form of comfort the other’s will give him – so when he’s sick he curls up on the couch and nuzzles up to anyone that gets too close, usually it’s the girl who’s trying to take care of him
v  Donnie having gotten tired of hearing the unpleased opinions of his brother’s about his eating habits and the unnecessary energy it takes to leaving the lab for drinks or food found and fixed up a refrigerator he keeps stocked with Soda’s and snacks
v  Raphael and Mikey are the ones who do tattoos for the brothers
v  Once a year the family goes up to the cabin in the mountains for a few weeks – two months at the most to train, recover, relax before heading back home
v  Leo makes his own candles and takes great joy in making them for his Master
v  Mikey although he can be messy is very organized, he likes to collect things – comics, action figures, manga, anime, you name it he likes it and has a place for everything in his room. So it may be messy but when he feels like it his room can be organized almost just as well as Leo’s
v  Raphael actually had the teen help him make his Nightwatcher uniform without her ever knowing making her think it was for a Halloween party they were having
v  Raven is fifteen when she starts to have nightmares and flashbacks remembering a life she never knew she had, remembering her mother, the details that wound her up in the sewers, faces and voices she doesn’t know seem so familiar but never tells her family
v  Raven had been going out with the turtles for three years when her true bloodline was revealed to them, during a battle with the Foot Raven gets cornered by Shredder away from her family but just as the man is going to kill her he stops to look her over almost in shock before ordering his men to release her. he apologized for their rudeness referring to her as princess before he tells her of a life she doesn’t remember… her real name was Anastasia, of her mother who he took in off the streets and got her cleaned up of drugs, how he cherished the young woman… and was so happy to find out she could help him continue the clans bloodline
v  It is then that he tells the teen she is the heir to the Foot clan and her mother was killed for kidnapping her and going on the run when it was revealed that she was to be raised as a deadly assassin that would someday take his place over the evil organization
v  He literally comes out to tell the girl she was his daughter when she doesn’t believe him
v  The simple fact of learning she is the offspring of their enemy destroys her and then she becomes hell bent on training so  she can prove she’s nothing like the evil man and vows to disband the clan if she ever takes over it
v  Leo didn’t like tea when he was a kid
v  Mikey posts their music on YouTube having a whole hip-hop list him and the guys have done
v  Raven even though she is a human has gotten into fist fights with Raphael
Didn't separate this time so hope you all enjoy

hahahaha
damseled in distress
raph's plan is to strap as many missiles to a barge boat as physically possible and then throw it at the ship
raph, honey, that's not how physics work
"i like it, but it feels... a little too much" y'gythgba just say it. its a shitty, shitty plan
don't spare this child's feelings
he needs to be knocked down like ten pegs anyways, the angst muffin he is
"you think? that's a mikey level bad idea" april calling things as they are
 onthespectrumwriting:

this is literally their job
oh donnie, oh april
you can't do anything cool in this series anymore, accept it
haha oh my god
 onthespectrumwriting:
they're stealing this right out of my fanfic at this point
mikey brought himself back from the dead
by pulling his molecules back together
this is exactly like my fanfic what the hell
electricity powers, existence despite apparently being dead, etc
also: wow what a lack of happiness that he's not dead
i'd like to call plagiarism.
 lulusoblue:
"what iz emote?"
 onthespectrumwriting:
this is so stupid
i did it better
 onthespectrumwriting:
okay the bug prisons are uncomfortably like assholes
ew
OH EW THEY'RE USING THE TRUSSED UP PEOPLE AS BUG EGG FOOD
THIS IS PARASITICA ALL OVER AGAIN BUT CITYSCALED
off topic: newt has a collection of utrom arms tied to his belt
just
chilling there
 lulusoblue:
as you do
 onthespectrumwriting:
he's got severed limbs flopping all over
bet that made bishop uncomfortable
 onthespectrumwriting:
oh shit its the military
its only been like a half a day since the world started ending
not like they're late
and where are the fighter jets guys
a ground assault won't do shit
oh no
its the turtle mech
again
....
i feel nothing, i never liked it
its so vulnerably designed??
like the cockpits are right in the front, completely undefended
nice raph's bug phobia is probably having a hay day in his head rn
parasite leeches are always great to deal with
eyyyy mike gets to do shit for once
he beat the last big bad, and now he's going to beat this one
how much do you bet they won't thank him this time either
Tumblr media
my murderous daughter strikes again
she's so excited to flamethrow a bunch of bugs
dialogue still killing me
HA THE MECH GOT TOTALED
WHAT A SURPRISE
donnie is going to cry about that
i feel bad for him
he spent months on that stupid thing
oooooh SHIT
mikey is KILLING IT today
my son
i'm so proud of you
your shitty family doesn't deserve you or donnie
mikey is doing so great, i'm so proud
they're also in the heart of a giant space bug ship now, and he's got electro powers so
he's gonna FUCK THEIR SHIT UP
go child
this is the one thing you're good at
destruction of all good things
do it
meanwhile everyone else is having fun with bugs
revenge for all the magnifiers in the world
karai and april continue to not be allowed to be useful
ugh
 lulusoblue:
ps is karai still a snake orrr
 onthespectrumwriting:
she's done no snake things this whole ep
they're wasting her
but, on the bright side
Tumblr media
confirmed: they're dating
femslash wins everyone go home
 lulusoblue:
WHAT bright side?
 onthespectrumwriting:
the gay bright side
mr. brightside
mikey is fucking shit up and i'm still proud of him
he died and literally brought himself back all on his own
this kid has so much to him
why does his family/the fandom/the show not get this
well he didn't beat the big bad on his own, but he did 99% of the work
MY SON IS SACRIFICING HIMSELF NO
mikey nooooooo
THEY JUST LEAVE HIM????
APRIL IS LITERALLY THE ONLY ONE CONCERNED THAT THIS KID SACRIFICED HIMSELF
wow he died for you assholes and all he gets is a highfive
and then they take his powers
and
clothes???
he's naked.
okay.
"pizza's on me!" leo you don't have money
you can't even go get the pizza without starting a riot
why would you say that
WHAT
NO
Y'GYTHGBA HONEY DON'T DO THIS
NONONONONONONONONO
okay so one
this is violating intergalactic laws
like ten of them at least
for another
y'gythgba don't do this
don't give up a very successful military career for a shitty teenage boy
he's not even twenty yet and he lives in the sewers angsting all day
you could do //so much better//
god no
he's not even letting her crash at his place
he's sending her to live with the mutanimals
"hey you gave up your entire life to be with me, how's crashing at my weird cousins' place sound? they're also fugitives and inhuman, you'll fit right in"
i
have
SO MUCH SALT ABOUT THIS
and then they end it there
*throws monitor through the wall*
FUCK THIS BULLSHIT
 onthespectrumwriting:
so that was one of the worst two-part specials i've ever watched
i'm going to go find something sweet to eat and then try to find purpose in life

From Peter Laird’s blog, on the 2003 show, from one of the Flash Forward episodes that got canned  http://peterlairdstmntblog.blogspot.com/2012/05/blast-from-past-537-february-13-2007-re.html
Tumblr media
I’m gonna call bullshit on that right now.
A quarter of Leatherhead’s character is self-loathing. Especially in the Mirage/Image line. This is someone who hates his own size, someone who is distraught that he was too heavy for the teleporter that would take him to the Utrom homeworld and desperately wants to be reunited with them. Someone who felt a very real connection to his adoptive family and has never really been an “alligator” except in body and temperament. He was raised by Utroms, so intellectually, culturally, and mentally, there’s an issue. There’s already enough evidence to say that he’s got some dysmorphia going on.
So yeah. Give me a Leatherhead with a very unique body dysmorphia. Give me a Leatherhead that occasionally forgets that he’s not an Utrom. Give me a Leatherhead who hates that he can’t and will never stop growing and just wants to be small; he tries to find ways to force growing to stop, but they just prove dangerous; he hates how enormous his appetite has become to support his enormous body. Give me a Leatherhead who is terrified of hurting one of his adoptive family because of his sheer size and strength, and even before his devastating separation from them, was already getting anxious around them after realizing how big he was next to them. Give me a Leatherhead that snaps at the turtles (Donatello and/or Michelangelo) for not understanding his mentality and being confused as to why they don’t see themselves as rats like Splinter. Give me a Leatherhead who kind of knows about human body dysmorphia and feels even more like shit because his own dysmorphia seems petty next to what others are dealing with. Give me a Leatherhead who thinks he’s tiny and soft and round, instead of gigantic, hard, and long. Even his very hands and feet are bothersome to him; his tail is bothersome. But he’s also afraid of not having them, that even if he could find some way to have the body he wants, it would scare him to see himself like that. Everything would be wrong no matter what he does.
It seems like in some versions, he’s already a little ashamed of his size and strength, but they never go guns blazing with it. So yeah. Go guns blazing with the Leatherhead that was raised by Utroms.
And who said he could take over another Utrom’s body? He could very well be able to “grow” a body using genetic material from the Utroms he was closest to - or at the least the ones who had the strongest parental role for him. (IE: DR. XEINOS. GIVE ME MY GIRL)  But first, he probably should be comfortable with the idea. Maybe by “practicing” with VR technology. And if there are alligator elements that he appreciates, he can just make an alligator exosuit. And even if he DID grow a body, it would be in a mostly-full grown form. He wouldn’t get the chance to grow up as an Utrom and have the infancy and childhood experiences that a regular Utrom would have. So in that aspect, he’d still feel like a “freak”.
So yeah, can we explore that side of Leatherhead? The one that hates the aspects of himself that separates him from his adoptive family? The primary one being that he’s a big fucking alligator?
(And while we’re at it, what if he even struggles with the name Leatherhead? Sure, it was cute while he was a tiny little unmutated baby, but as a full-sized adult, it just feels like a cutesy name for a pet, not an Utrom-brained mutant who’s got enough shit going on as it is)

Let it die.
Sooooo… as some of you know, 2k12!TMNT plans to end on their fifth season, and I say: LET IT DIE.
This cartoon has been disappointing me since my first months on Tumblr, when the third season finale was trending. And after the third season, things went downhill, but when I opened my eyes it was already too late because the fandom was DEAD (in both figurate and literal terms) after the third season finale, and I happen to have SO MUCH BEEF about it.
I’m extremely devoted and passionate about TMNT… but Nickelodeon is killing my interest and playing with my feelings as if they were some sort of modeling clay. There are so many reasons…!
Third Season Finale: This dick move is on the top of my list! This has NEVER EVER EVER happened in any of the incarnations there was! NEVER! Why kill Master Splinter and destroy the Earth?! Why?! What does all that shit adds up?! Tell me! I’m dying to know! As far as I am concerned, the Turtles plus Casey and April are NOT the Z-Warriors, let alone the Sailor Senshi to deal with something of that caliber! Why give them a burden that they cannot handle?! Why send them out to space?! Why send them to the scary and vast uncertainity of the unknown?!
RaMona: Ahhh, RaMona! A cute couple, right? WRONG. It was rushed as fuck. Like, they got together on Mona’s debut episode (the title was Moon of Thalos, if my memory serves). Hell, they even kissed! What the hell was happening on that episode? Was Raph on a mating season or something?! Why couldn’t he and Mona Lisa wait for the romance ACTUALLY bloom?! Where was the development between them?! Remember what Garnet says, kids: “Love at first sight DOESN’T exist. Love takes time. Love takes work.” And also, what the fuck is up with the lovechildren fanarts?! Raph’s not even 18, and Mona… well, I dunno how the fuck aging works for her kind, but still! Teenage pregnancy?! Fucking wrong and gross.
April O’ Neil: I love April in every incarnation, but sadly, I had to make an exception on this incarnation, as she always steals the spotlight with her powers… speaking of which, why the fuck make her half-Kraang? Why does she need powers? Why does she need to be at the same level as Steven (who’s half-Gem), Gohan (who’s half-Saiyan) and Keith (who’s half-Galra)?! Weren’t her kunouchi skills good enough? Why make her kill Donatello and why make her kill him in a Frieza-esque fashion? Why make her look “sexy” during the Space Arc? (have you seen the way Don and Casey were looking at her?! Ugh…)
Shock Value™: Pretty much self-explainatory. Why kill Master Splinter? Why kill Donatello? Why kill two characters who are vital for the franchise, are the main characters and can be seen on the Goddamn opening?! Wow, what a way to shoot yourselves on the foot, Nickelodeon. Bravo.
Love-interests: Why make almost every female character a love interest for the Turtles? It’s April, Karai, Renet, Mona Lisa… and why make the Turtles go ga-ga over them? Why make them weak in front of them? Doesn’t these girls have other talents and shit? Why make them desire objects for the protags? Hell, I even fear for Alopex; she might become a love interest for Raphael!
Raphael Hamato: This turtle’s being SPOILED! Let’s see what he has: A girlfriend, a friend, a new pet… you writers keep giving him all that shit, and he’ll become spoiled!
Neglect: What about Irma? What about Renet? And Rocksteady, Bebop, Leatherhead, and so many other characters and situations that are being thrown away in the trash? What about them, huh? The cartoon’s coming to a close, and you guys haven’t thought about them after the third season fiasco?
I say once again: LET IT DIE. Let this cartoon die.
It had everything to be great, but it was ruined because the writers wanted to be Extra™ and make it dark and gritty; like, I know that the 2k3 incarnation was gritty too, but MURDERING characters and DESTROYING planets?! That’s a pathetic attempt at being Cool & Edgy™ for the viewers. I hope the 2k18 incarnation will be way better than that! And for the next time, DON’T let Nickelodeon be in charge of it, please? They fucked everything up.
I’m gonna say this one more time:
LET. IT. DIE.

I believe these sentences are very true.
1. April tries her best to keep up with the turtles, but sadly she’s not as active as them. 2. For a plant-man, the Creep is very active, seeing as how plants usually don’t move. 3. Slash and Leatherhead are the most active members of the Mighty Mutanimals, they move around more than Pete and Rockwell do. 4. The turtles are very active, but they mainly move around the streets of New York at night. 5. The Kraang aren’t very active, but they move around frequently. 6. Mr. Kurtzman is a very active journalist, he often moves about the city. 7. Rockwell isn’t active, but he uses his psychic powers to move around easily. 8. Timothy got quite a bargain when he was taught ninjitsu by Donatello, who didn’t need a payment to do it at all! 9. Leonardo will never trade his brothers for anything, not even a sword on a bargain! 10. April can bargain her tessen for a lot of money because it’s quite valuable. 11. Casey loves bargains at sports stores because then he can get hockey sticks cheaper! 12. Kraang Sub-Prime made a bargain with Professor Honeycutt for his Black Hole Generator by offering him a large sum of cash. 13. Splinter will never bargain his mind to the Rat King, no matter how much he’s willing to pay! 14. When Splinter learned that his daughter, Miwa was alive and was being raised by the Shredder or Oruko Saki, he gasped, and his sons, Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo were so shocked that they felt like they were gonna be breathless. 15. Karai gasped and felt at a loss of breath when she learned that Splinter truly was her biological father. 16. The Kraang are very faithful or loyal to their leader, Kraang Prime. 17. Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo often lose faith in Leonardo, so they’re not very loyal to him. 18. Stockman Fly’s “Shredder Mutants” were very loyal to him, they did everything he said, and he knew he put his faith in the right claws, or hands, or something like that. 19. Donatello has learned that the Kraang’s most common resource to use in all of their experiments is their Mutagen, it’s still unknown as to what materials are in it. 20. Master Splinter says that ninjas can use any material as a resource weapon in combat. 21. Raphael isn’t sensitive because it takes something very, very, very, very major to upset him, like one of his brothers getting nearly killed or learning that someone that he’s trusted for a long time has betrayed him. 22. Bigfoot is very sensitive because she gets upset easily, for instance when Leonardo and Casey were making mean jokes about her, she heard the jokes and began crying and ran into the woods very upset. 23. Raphael still struggles to contain his anger, it’s a losing battle on the inside for him. 24. Leonardo struggles to keep his brothers in line, it’s like he tries his hardest and it doesn’t pay off. 25. Stockman Fly has struggled to get Shredder back to his old self, he tried his best and it’s finally paid off. 26. Shredder’s helmet, the Kuro Kabuto is very valuable, not just in terms of money, but also in terms of importance to his family heritage, it’s been in his family for many years, it’s super important to him. 27. Splinter doesn’t want Karai to get hurt, she’s his only daughter, so he values and thinks very highly of her. 28. Slash values each of his teammates, he knows how much of an important role they play in their team. 29. The Kraang’s experiments with Mutagen vary, they often change the experiments. 30. The stuff Donatello uses for his inventions can vary, he can use Kraang components at one time, and then another time he can change it up and use stuff from the sewers. 31. Shredder often varies which henchmen he sends out to get rid of the turtles, he could send Fishface and Rahzar at one time, and then the next time he could change it up and send Rocksteady and Bebop. 32. Leonardo often has to keep a close eye on Michelangelo because he could carelessly wander off at any time. 33. When the turtles go on patrol they never wander, they always have a plan! 34. Pete often wanders the streets, he never has a plan when he’s walking through the streets of New York City.. (okay not really that true, well except the not having a plan part.) 35. Mondo Gecko likes to skateboard, so he often wanders off while skateboarding, never caring about what could happen.
April: Whoa a long ask!
I’ll put in bold the ones that aren’t true and explain why below. It just makes it easier for those reading this submission.
1. April tries her best to keep up with the turtles, but sadly she’s not as active as them.
This is not true. I am just as active as my friends and Sensei doesn’t let me get away with doing any less in training just because I’m a girl. I’m always exercising and training.
11. Casey loves bargains at sports stores because then he can get hockey sticks cheaper!
Casey actually rarely goes into sports stores. His dad has lots of sports equipment at home so he usually just uses those.
17. Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo often lose faith in Leonardo, so they’re not very loyal to him.
They don’t often lose faith in Leo at all. Leo is a wonderful leader and the whole team is extremely loyal. They just have regular brotherly arguments like everyone else. That statement could not be more wrong.
21. Raphael isn’t sensitive because it takes something very, very, very, very major to upset him, like one of his brothers getting nearly killed or learning that someone that he’s trusted for a long time has betrayed him.
Raph actually is quite sensitive which is why he gets so mad. If someone insults him, he goes from 1-100% really quickly.
23. Raphael still struggles to contain his anger, it’s a losing battle on the inside for him.
Raph does still struggle sometimes but he is doing much better than he used to. We can all see the improvement in him and he’s doing really well.
24. Leonardo struggles to keep his brothers in line, it’s like he tries his hardest and it doesn’t pay off.
Seeing as though the turtles have saved the Earth many times, I would say their efforts definitely have paid off!
33. When the turtles go on patrol they never wander, they always have a plan!
I would love to say that we’re highly professional and always plan a route to stick to but that’s not true. Sometimes we just like to explore! As long as we’re looking out for trouble, it doesn’t really matter

Secret of the Sewers: Operation Shellshock
April slowly came to, her head still fuzzy after fainting. As she pushed herself up, Casey's hand met her back.
"Easy there." he told her softly. "Just take it slow."
"Casey…?" she muttered, holding her head. "What-?"
"Let's not focus on that right now." he interjected. "Just drink this."
He handed her a warm mug of what smelled like tea. She sipped it, allowing the warmness to sooth her. As she began to regain her senses, she realized a few things. One, she wasn't in her apartment. Two, she wasn't in Casey's apartment either. Three, wherever she was reeked of mildew and stale water.
"Um, Casey?” She questioned, “Where are we?"
Casey gulped, rubbing the back of his head.
"Yeah… How much do you remember?" He asked.
April shrugged, taking another sip of her tea.
"I remember you scaring me, then you mentioned an attack on the pizzeria… and then-"
She froze mid-sip, suddenly remember just what is was that caused her to faint. She set her cup down, meeting Casey's eye.
"Then I saw four… large… monsters…"
"Hey, watch the 'M'-word!" Raph called out indignantly.
April squeaked, backing into the cushions of the couch she was sitting on as the turtles emerged from the shadows.
"Raph, calm down." Leo told his brother. "We've already made her faint once, let's try not to do it again."
"Hey, she's the one that used the M-word." Raph argued, gesturing to April. "I think I'm entitled to be offended by it."
April looked at the turtles, trying to rationalize what she was seeing. Part of her had hoped that she had just been dreaming, but here they were again.
"This- This can't be real." she muttered. "You- you can't be real."
Donny stepped forward.
"We are just as real as you and your friend are." he replied.
"Besides, if we weren't real, then why are you in our living room?" Mikey questioned.
April blinked, then looked around. She was in some sort of make-shift living quarters, a house that seemed to be built into the sewers. Thinking on that, it explained the mildew smell.
"Who are you?" She asked, hugging onto a couch pillow.
Mikey stepped forward, a grin on his face.
"I'm glad you asked. How's about I do the introductions?"
"Mikey-" Raph tried before being cut off by Donny.
"Let him." the purple turtle said. "He's been wanting a chance to do this for years."
Raph sighed and Mikey cleared his throat.
"Over here in the blue, we've got Leonardo. He's our fearless leader rocking the Dual Katanas."
Leo brandished his swords with a bit of flair before sliding them back into their sheathes.
"On my right in the purple is Donatello. He's a tactical genius who is, technically, a genius. Guy can make any piece of technology out of scraps from the dump."
Donny gave a bow, leaning against his staff.
"The hothead in the red is Raphael. He's a big cuddly teddy bear."
"Mikey, I swear-"
"If big cuddly teddy bears were incredibly violent wrecking machines." Mikey hastily added. "And finally, there's me. Michelangelo, sporting my signature orange. I'm the resident fun machine and butt kicking master of the nunchuks."
In an air of showmanship, he pulled out his weapons, spinning them around in true Bruce Lee fashion.
"Yeesh, where's your off switch?" Raph questioned.
April took a deep breath, attempting to process this new information. Luckily, Casey sat down next to her to try and help.
"I don't understand." April expressed turning to Casey. "How do you know these guys Casey?"
"I told you." Casey explained. "These are Hisako's brothers."
"Her brothers?" April questioned. "These things are her brothers? There's no way Hisako could be related to those turtles. She a normal human."
At that moment, Splinter walked over.
"In the wise words of Phaedrus, 'Things are not always what they seem'." he told her.
April squealed, scrambling away and clinging to Casey. The teen immediately tried to calm his girlfriend.
"Whoa there." He told her. "Calm down. That's just Hisako's father, Master Splinter."
April's eyes were wide as she began hyperventilating again.
"Her brothers… are turtles… and her father… is a rat… Is there anything else I should know about?"
That's when Leatherhead walked into the room with a tray of tea. April’s eyes locked on him, her jaw dropping as she slowly turned to Casey.
"Her boyfriend is a crocodile." Casey added with a shrug.
"Yeah, and you two are human nerds." Raph interjected. "Now that we've got that out of the way-"
Before he could finish, April sagged in Casey's grasp, passing out again. He laid her back down on the couch before looking up at the turtles.
"Any of you got any smelling salts?"
Electricity flickered throughout the lab. The scientists were attempting to revive Hisako through the use of electric voltage. Unfortunately this was doing little more than waste electricity. She was still essentially brain dead.
"Still not working?!" one of the scientists exclaimed. "There's gotta be some way to wake her up."
"Raise the voltage." another scientist suggested.
"We can't," a third one interjected. "If we do, we risk losing her."
"Dr. Stockman is not going to accept this." the first scientist declared.
"I'm not going to accept what?"
The three scientist turned around to see Stockman standing behind them.
"Dr. Stockman!" the second scientist practically cried out.
"Status report." Stockman demanded. "Now!"
The first scientist stepped forward.
"We've attempted electrostimulation to restart her brain, but we've had no success." he explained. "Not as much as a blip on the brain activity monitor."
"We've continued increasing the voltage, but if he raise it any higher, we risk electrocuting her and killing her."
Stockman stroked his chin as he examined Hisako.
"Then perhaps it is time to try a different approach." he suggested. "Considering this coma is self-inflicted, then she must have a way to pull herself out of it. All we need to do is force her to come out."
He snapped his fingers and two men in black coats walked in. They were both wearing blue latex gloves and gave off an air of malice and sadism that rivaled even Stockman's.
"As long as you don't kill her or damage her mentally, she's all yours."
The two men smiled as they cracked their knuckles.
Inside Hisako's mind, the girl forced herself to stay down. Her entire body hurt and she wanted so desperately to let go, just so the pain would end, even for a moment. Still, she knew she couldn't let go. She knew that once she did, then Stockman won, and she was never gonna let that happen.
She forced herself to think about something other than the pain. In desperation, she latched onto the memories of the past four years. The memories of her family and friends strengthened her resolve and she kept herself down.
I know you'll come for me guys…
The pain started up again, forcing her to concentrate harder.
April came around a second time, and this go around, everyone took it slow. Luckily, she seemed to be a bit more receptive to the idea of her friend living with mutants, especially after Casey explained Hisako's history.
"So Hisako's rough childhood was the result of her being used as a lab rat because of her ability to read minds. And these guys found her and took her in after she was rescued by… Leatherhead was it?"
The crocodile gave a single nod.
"Am I getting this right?" she asked.
"You've pretty much got it." Casey told her.
"Though when you say it out loud like that, it really does sound insane." Mikey commented.
"But what I don't understand is what this has to do with me, or Casey.” April continued. “Why bring us into this?"
"Because those people from her past are the ones that attacked the Pizzeria." Leo answered. "They took Hisako, and we're going to need your help to rescue her."
"My help?" April asked. "What can I do?"
"Those people who have our sister," Donnie explained. "They work for TCRI."
April help up a hand.
"Wait. You're saying that your sister was held captive by TCRI?” She questioned before shaking her head. “That's impossible. We're the Technological Research and Creations Institute."
"Yeah, we've seen the logo." Raph quipped.
"Then you know our research is fully technology based. We don't have any projects involving mind control or mutant animals."
Raph snorted, leaning against the wall.
"Ever heard of a front?" he asked. "TCRI is just a cover for Stockman's twisted science experiments."
Now April was getting mad. She stood up, facing the red turtle.
"And now you're accusing Dr. Baxter Stockman of being some Dr. Frankenstein?"
Leatherhead excused himself from the room as Leo came forward.
"Look April, it's true. Stockman tortured Hisako for most of her childhood. She still has nightmares about him."
"No way. I refuse to believe you!"
"So wait, you're willing to believe Hisako is a telepath, and that her family is made up of mutants, but what you can't believe is the fact that your boss is evil?" Raph questioned. "Casey, your girlfriend is not the brightest light bulb in the box."
"He's not evil!" April shouted. "That man has 18 patents, 5 PhDs and-"
"We've read his wiki page." Leo interjected, starting to get a bit annoyed with April himself. "And frankly, I don't care that he has a frikken Nobel Prize! That monster has my sister, so are you going to help us, or-"
"Leonardo!" Splinter interrupted.
Leo backed down, regaining his composure.
"Sorry Sensei." he muttered.
"We are all worried about Hisako." he said, playing a paw on his son's arm. "But we cannot fight amongst ourselves, for we will only succeed in doing our enemy's work for them."
April watched the exchange, still steamed about her boss being accused, but then Donnie had a suggestion.
"Hey April." he said, sliding onto the couch next to her.
"What, are you going to shout about how evil Stockman is too?"
"No." Donny replied, holding up his hand. "I'm just going to make a suggestion. If you're so sure Stockman isn't the good guy, then helping us break into TCRI would prove his innocence. We'd see he has nothing to hide, and would know to look elsewhere."
Mikey grinned as April seemed to be convinced by Donny's words.
"Like I said," the orange turtle whispered. "Technically, a genius."
The three remaining turtles fist bumped as Donny continued.
"All you need to do is help us get inside." he explained. "You do that, and you can prove you were right, or that we were right. Either way, the truth is revealed."
April mulled it over before sighing.
"Alright." she relented. "But I stand by my conviction that Stockman isn't evil."
Donny stood up.
"We'll let the facts speak for themselves." he concluded.
April stood up as the gang gathered around, Leatherhead returning as well.
"Can. We. Go. Now. Please?" Raph asked, his fists shaking with his sai in his hands.
April wasn't scheduled to come in until the next day, so this gave the turtles plenty of time to plan. After hacking into the City Hall records, the turtles managed to dig up the blueprints and floor plans of TCRI, allowing Donny to figure out the best way in.
"Alright," Donny said as he rolled out the large blueprint. "I've gone over the blueprints, and I have to say, Stockman has some serious state of the art security. Roof sensors, laser grids in the vent systems, and even motion detectors in the elevator shafts."
"Yeesh." Raph commented. "Are we breaking into TCRI, or Fort Knox?"
Ignoring Raph's comment, Leo looked at Donny.
"Tell me you have a plan"
"I do." The purple turtle replied. "All we need is for April to get into the security room and plant this bug in their system. It will disable the security system across the lab so we can get in. Once we get to April, we reactivate the system so we can find where they're keeping Hisako and bust her out.
"But what about the guys in the security room?" Mikey asked.
"I thought of that." Donny replied as he grabbed a small canister of what looked like a can of spray paint off his work table
"What's your plan?" Raph snorted. "Hit them in the eyes with spray paint?"
"Hey, that stuff hurts." Mikey countered, "Trust me."
Donny cleared his throat, drawing their attention.
"Actually, this isn't spray paint." he explained. "It's a pressurized chemical mixture that, once inhaled, will place whomever breathes it into a deep sleep."
Mikey began laughing.
"Bro, that is by far one of the craziest-"
Donny took the container, blasting Mikey in the face. The orange turtle's eyes rolled back as he collapsed on the ground. Raph looked at his sleeping brother, then at Donny.
"Where was that stuff years ago?" he questioned.
April took the spray, looking a bit apprehensive about using it.
"This won't hurt them, will it?"
"Not one bit." Donny promised. "They'll just be asleep for around four hours, meaning that's how long we'll have to find Hisako once we get in."
Still a bit worried, April tucked the can into her bag.
"Anything else?" She asked.
"The plan is simple." Leo interjected. "Go in, knock out the guards, we come in through the vents, then we search the cameras for any sign of Hisako."
"After that, we knock some skulls." Raph finished, punching his palm.
April gave a sigh, sagging onto the couch and clutching her head.
"I can't believe I'm actually agreeing to this..." she muttered, "This is crazy."
Splinter placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"I know that this is much to process, and I know that you still hold reservations about what you have learned. However, I must ask you to cast those uncertainties aside. My daughter's life depends on it."
April looked up at Splinter, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.
"I know… but just so you know, I'm only doing this to prove Stockman's not the criminal you all think he is."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night, sweetheart." Raph grunted. "Just don't go crying to us when you get proven wrong."
"As long as you guys don't come crying to me when I prove you're all wrong."
Raph snorted.
"Fine by me." he called as he walked off. "Now if any of you need me, I'm gonna go wail on my bag until I can't feel my knuckles."
The next day, April walked through the doors of TCRI. She was so nervous that her entire body was strung tighter than a guitar string. She tugged at the strap of her purse, wringing the leather in her hands. Sweat poured down her brow as she tried to take deep breaths.
"You can do this April." she muttered. "Just stay calm."
"Miss O'Neil!"
April squeaked, jumping slightly as she turned towards the person that had called out to her. The doctor that had called her name looked at her in confusion.
"You alright Miss O'Neil?" he asked. "You look a bit pale."
April gulped, then tugged at the collar of her shirt.
"Sorry." she muttered, "Didn't get a lot of sleep last night."
The doctor just smiled.
"You'll get use to the late nights." The doctor told her. "Just give yourself some time."
April nodded quickly, then hurried off, desperate to get this over with. She got to the security office, her hand shaking as she reached for the knob. She hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath.
"Get a grip." April hissed. "Just get a grip."
She grabbed the handle, turning it slowly and opening the door. Inside, she could see a pair of security guards watching the monitors closely. She entered, closing the door behind her and silently locking it. Putting on a fake smile, she stepped forward
"Hey Kevin!" she called. "Hey Peter!"
"Hey April!" the two called back.
"You guys just get on?" she asked nervously.
"Yeah just a little while ago." Kevin answered.
"And we're gonna be stuck here all night probably." Peter lamented. "And just when the Cubs finally made it to the World Series."
"Yeah and if they win, then Back to the Future would've been right!" Kevin noted with a smile.
"True," Peter replied. "Though they would have been off by a year."
As the two continued their talk, April came in close, Donny's aerosol can in her hand.
"So sorry." she whispered.
Closing her eyes and turning away, she sprayed the two guards in the face. One whiff of the spray, and the two of them sank into their seats, snoring like lions. April opened one eye, looking at the two cautiously before opening her other eye. She leaned closer, giving them an experimental poke before sighing in relief.
"It worked." she whispered.
She leaned against the console, just taking a few deep breaths before a voice suddenly spoke up in her ear.
"Umm, April?" Donny's voice called through the earpiece she'd been given. "The bug?"
April shot up, suddenly remembering the other half of her mission. She fumbled around in her bag before pulling out a flash drive shaped like a turtle shell. After placing it into the system, the screens were covered in code before they were dominated by a turtle symbol.
"Alright." she said. "System's down."
Outside, in a shadowy alley, Leo gave a thumbs up to the others.
"We're good." he whispered.
The turtles and Splinter all put on a set of climbing claws as Casey piggybacked on Raph's back. They began scaling the walls of TCRI.
"Man, we ought to leave the wall crawling to the guy in the red and blue tights." Mikey joked.
"Mikey, for once in your life, can you take anything seriously?" Raph asked irritated.
Splinter's tail came out and whacked both of them. He then shushed them both, reminding them that stealth was key. Once they reached the roof, Casey dismounted Raph's back as the ninjas shed their claws.
"Hey Leo," Mikey asked softly. "Why did we have to leave Leatherhead behind? I'm sure he could have scaled that wall easily."
"That may be true, but his sheer size and weight would have made stealth difficult." Leo explained.
"Yeah, that guy's about as stealthy as a monster truck in a china shop." Raph snorted.
Down in the sewers beneath TCRI, Leatherhead crossed his arms.
"I… can hear you." Leatherhead reminded him.
Raph winced.
"It's true." he replied nervously.
"I know..." Leatherhead replied. "I will… Wait here… until… you need me."
"We'll call you the second that happens." Leo promised, opening the vent for his companions. "Promise."
With that, the turtles, Casey, and Splinter all made their way through the vents into TCRI.
April paced around the security room, nervous as hell and questioning the sanity of what she was doing.
"This is insane." she muttered with every step. "This is insane. This is insane. This is insane."
There was a loud crash as Raph's fist punched through the grate covering the air vent. April squealed, jumping back as the team entered the room.
"Someone order a rescue party with extra keys?" Mikey jokingly asked, landing on the ground.
"Did he really just say that?" Casey asked confused.
"Unfortunately." Raph responded groaning.
April struggled to regain composure as she approached the gang.
"How do you guys do this?" she asked exasperatedly. "I'm jumping at even the slightest noise!"
"Yeah, we noticed." Raph told her. "Donny, find our sister."
"On it."
The purple turtle tipped Peter out of his chair, taking it for himself and pulling the flash drive out of the terminal. The cameras and security system turned back on, allowing Donny full view. He cracked his knuckles and began typing. He searched each of the camera feeds, growing more and more confused with each passing frame.
"She's not here guys." He said after a moment. "I can't find her on any of the feeds."
"What?!" Everyone save for April exclaimed.
"Whaddya mean you can't find her?" Raph demanded.
"She's not on any of the cameras!" Donny replied. "I've searched every signal, and there's not a single trace of her!"
"But, there has to be!" Mikey cried out.
"See?!" April said, gesturing to the cameras triumphantly. "I told you! Hisako's not here! I told you Stockman wasn't evil, I told you TCRI wasn't some mad science lab, but did you believe me? Oh no!"
Raph turned to April angrily, fingers hovering over his weapons.
"You wanna shut up before I take this Sai and shove it up your-"
"Wait, is that Hun?" Mikey interrupted, gesturing to one of the computer screens.
Both Raph and April looked to the camera Mikey was pointing to, just in time to see a familiar wall of muscle making his way out of TCRI.
"It is Hun!" Leo said in shock.
"That's the guy who attacked the Pizzeria!" Casey added.
"That's Mr. Hun, the representative of TCRI's main financial backer."
Everyone looked at April in surprise.
"Financial backer?" Leo asked. "Who?"
April shrugged.
"I don't know." she replied. "He never comes personally. He always sends Hun, and Hun only refers to him as his boss. Although, one time I could have sworn he nearly called his boss 'master'. Weird huh?"
"Indeed." Splinter said with a small, contemplative nod.
"April, what does Hun do when he comes here?" Donny asked. "Where do they go?"
April thought for a moment.
"They go to Dr. Stockman's private lab. It's restricted to certain authorized personnel. He won't even allow security cameras in there."
The turtles all shared knowing looks.
"10 pizza boxes says that the private lab is the illegal genetics lab we're look for." Mikey quipped.
"I'll take a piece of that action." Raph replied.
April's eyes went wide.
"Wait, you guys are going in there?!" she exclaimed. "But how? The lab's on the six floor, surrounded by an army of guards and doctors, and you need an authorized keycard to even open the door, which, by the way, is enforced."
This stopped the turtles for a moment, at least until Raph got an idea.
"Hey April, still got some of that sleep stuff?" he asked.
April blinked, then handed over the can. Raph gave it an experimental shake and smiled.
"This'll do just fine." he remarked, tossing the can and catching it.
On the sixth floor, doctors and guards milled about, doing their daily routine. As they did, an air grate that opened up to the middle of the room began to shake slightly. The cover came loose, nearly falling to the ground, but was quickly caught by a green hand. The cover was pulled into the vent, then the green hand returned, holding the aerosol can and a Sai.
"Nighty-night." Raph whispered.
He stabbed the can, quickly dropping it on the ground as the gas filled the room. All it took was one whiff and the staff all fell, each and every one of them fast asleep.
Raph waited for the gas to dissipate, then he jumped down onto the ground, recovering his weapon.
"They're out!" he called.
His brothers, Master Splinter, and finally April and Casey came sliding out of the vents. Casey managed to roll to his feet, but April had to be caught by Splinter. He set her down, gesturing for her to lead the way. They walked past several small labs of doctors out cold, using textbooks and half-finished projects as pillows.
"Man, I'm glad we didn't have to break into an unstable chemical lab." Mikey commented. "That would have been seriously messy."
"Over there." April said with a point. "That's the door to Stockman's private lab."
Donny went and examined the door, whistling as he did.
"If he's not hiding something back here, I'd be really surprised. This door is reinforced titanium, and from the rivets in the metal, I'd say we're looking at an electronically controlled pneumatic seal."
"English, Poindexter." Casey interrupted.
"I knew I liked you, kid." Raph commented.
"Who you calling kid?" Casey asked. "I'm probably older than you."
Donny let out a cough, drawing their attention again.
"Like I was saying, this door is sealed tight. We'll need to find a working key."
"Then perhaps we should start with the doctors on this floor." Splinter suggested.
"Great idea Sensei." Leo agreed. "Everybody fan out, grab any key cards you can find."
Everybody spread out, accosting doctors and guards alike to get into the door.
Stockman watched with a childish glee as The Master's 'information gatherers' (read torturers) attempted to bring Project Oracle out of her coma. While their efforts were fruitless, it was still entertaining to watch.
"Dr. Stockman!" One of his security officers called out.
With a sigh, Stockman turned away from Oracle's cell in order to face the oncoming officer.
"What is it?" he asked annoyed.
"There have been numerous unauthorized attempts to access the lab's entrance."
Stockman raised an eyebrow.
"Is that so?" he asked.
"Yes, and when I tried to access the security cameras to see who it was, I couldn't get in."
Now Stockman was intrigued. He began walking towards the lab's private security booth, the guard hot on his heels. As he entered the booth, he saw that the computers to access the upper labs were now covered in streams of data, almost like a homemade firewall attempting to keep them out.
"It would seem that we have uninvited guests, ones with extensive knowledge of codes and-"
He paused for a moment, realization dawning.
"I think I may know who our intruders are."
He began typing away at the code, destroying it with relative ease as he regained control of the system. As the cameras came back online, he brought the camera outside of the doorway onto the big screen.
"I knew it." He said with an evil chuckle. "The four turtles have come for their sister."
On the screen, Donatello was kneeling before the card swiper, testing the different cards that his brothers were handing him and tossing them aside when they failed. Stockman then squinted as he noticed three other figures amongst them.
"A large mutant rattus rattus." he mused. "From his posture, he is obviously the true leader of the group, perhaps a sort of fatherly figure. Maybe he was the one who taught the turtles their martial arts."
"But what about the two kids?" The security officer asked.
Stockman looked at them, mildly surprised.
"Miss O'Neil." he said in surprise. "She is acquainted with these creatures? I must say that is unexpected, but it answers the question of who the boy is. He's obviously that Casey Jones character that she has mentioned in the past."
"Isn't that also the name of the kid who Hun sent to tell the turtles?" The officer asked.
Stockman nodded.
"How nice of him to come along for the ride. It makes tying up loose ends so much easier." He let out a small sigh. "If only they had brought Project Leatherhead with them."
He turned away from the camera, approaching the computer for the private lab. He typed in a passcode, a sadistic smile on his face.
"Let's welcome our new guests properly."
"Nope… Nope… Nope…"
Donny had just about gone through all of the key cards the group had collected, and still the door remained sealed. With every nope that came out of Donny's mouth, Raph got more and more agitated.
"Argh!" he screamed, punching the door as hard as he could. "Why isn't this working?! Open already!"
He began to try and pry the doors, and when he did, the card slider turned green, despite Donny not swiping a card yet. The doors suddenly hisses open and Raph fell through, landing flat on his face.
"Hey, it worked!" Mikey cheered. "We should let Raph go on a rage more often."
Everyone stepped over Raph as the red turtle regained his composure. As they all looked around, they appeared to be in a large elevator. There were two buttons on the console, one that said BL, and another that said UL. BL was the one on the bottom, so Casey gave it a push. As the doors closed, they all stood there, waiting for the elevator to move.
"Umm, guys?" April questioned. "Shouldn't we be moving?"
That's when the floor of the elevator suddenly retracted, sending the seven of them plummeting into the elevator shaft. Below them, they could see what looked like some sort of body of water waiting to catch them. They landed with a symphony of splashes, all of them immediately swimming for the surface.
"Is everyone alright?" Leo called.
"I'm good!" Mikey called.
"I'm here!" Donny added.
"Casey here!"
"April too!"
"I am alright, my sons."
Raph was the last to break the surface, and he was pissed.
"That lousy piece of sewer scum!" Raph shouted. "When I get my hands on that Stockman guy, I'm gonna wring his-"
April suddenly screamed.
"Something just brushed up against my leg!"
Mikey suddenly jumped a bit in the water.
"I felt it too!"
Everyone was suddenly on edge.
"We're not alone in here." Donny realized.
Raph, still fuming with anger, just snorted.
"Whatever it is, let me at 'em!" he told them. "I can take on anything this Stockman guy throws at-"
Before he could finish his promise, a webbed, pinkish set of hands came out of the water, grabbing Raph by his shoulders and dragging him beneath the surface of the water.
"Raph!" the turtles screamed, diving under the water to help their brother.
Watching from the security booth, Stockman laughed as the turtles disappeared beneath the surface.
"It is moments like these when I am reminded that the cost of moving Project Fishface's tank into that chamber beneath the elevator shaft was worth it."
The security guard watched the camera, a bit wary about the possible outcomes.
"Dr. Stockman, what if those creatures somehow escape from Fishface?"
Stockman just snorted.
"That is highly unlikely." he replied. "I have watched dozens of potential intruders meet their demise at the hands, or should I say teeth, of Project Fishface."
Down in the tank, Raph was struggling as Fishface dragged the red turtle down lower and lower into the tank. As they continued their rapid descent, the mutant fish kept trying to take a bite out of him. Raph was using one hand to push against Fishface's neck, keeping him from eating him, and the other was reaching for his Sai. Once he pulled it out, he stabbed Fishface in the shoulder, causing it to cry out in pain and let Raph go. He then swam as fast as he could towards the surface, meeting up with his brothers along the way. Once they reached the surface, they all began gasping for air.
"Raph!" Mikey cried out as they swam towards him.
"What happened?" Leo asked.
"There is something down there." Raph told them. "And it ain't friendly."
Just as Raph finished that, Fishface came back up and actually jumped out of the water, coming back down and tackling Leo. The force of the attack sent them both back under the water.
"What the Shell was that?!" Mikey asked, completely freaked out.
"It appears to be a mutated version of a Lophius Piscatorius!" Donny replied, searching the water for any sign of the two of them.
"English Don!" Raph screamed.
"It's an Anglerfish." Donny clarified. "One of the deadliest fish in the sea."
"Fascinating." Mikey commented. "While you prepare a lecture, I'm gonna go save my brother!"
With that, Mikey dove in after Leo. Donnie and Raph followed shortly after.
Below the surface, Leo was wrestling with Fishface and having a hard keeping it away. Eventually, Fishface managed to sink his teeth into Leo's shoulder, causing the blue turtle to cry out in pain. This unfortunately let what little air he had leave his lungs, making way for the salty water of the tank.
Just then, Mikey came in, giving a good kick to Fishface's head. The mutant fish released Leo, allowing for Donny and Raph to pursue it while Mikey got Leo to the surface for air.
As the orange turtle broke the surface of the water, Leo began coughing and hacking up a surprising amount of water. After he finally stopped wheezing, he looked at his brother in relief.
"Thanks Mikey." Leo said graciously.
The water's surface rippled as Donny and Raph continued their battle with Fishface, Donny currently trying to get a strong enough swing under water to do some damage.
"This thing is kicking out shells." Mikey noted.
"Well what do you expect?" Leo replied. "We're in its element."
"Where's Jaws when you need him?" Mikey lamented.
This gave Leo an idea.
"Michelangelo, that's a brilliant idea." he said putting his hand on Mikey's shoulder.
"It is?" Mikey questioned.
Just then, Fishface came up at breakneck speed, plowing right into Mikey. Fishface then rammed him right into one of the walls. The orange turtle rebounded hard, then started to sink beneath the water.
"Michelangelo!" Splinter, whom had been keeping April and Casey out of the fight, called out.
While the turtles could hold their breath for extended periods of time, 30 minutes from Donny's tests, they were freshwater turtles, and this was salt water.
"Sensei!" Leo called out swimming towards Mikey. "I got Mikey, call plan B!"
Splinter nodded and reached for a small device on his belt that was, surprisingly, still functional.
...
Meanwhile, Leatherhead was sitting quietly in the sewers. Suddenly he heard a noise emanating from the shell cell he'd been given. He looked at it and saw a small red blinking dot on the screen. Leonardo had instructed him that if this should happen, they were in trouble, and that he should follow the sewer pipes leading towards the dots location.
Remembering Donatello's note that he could identify his own position by a moving green dot, Leatherhead ran down the tunnels, watching as he closed in on his ally's position. He made a right turn, then two lefts until he came to a small junction. According to the cell, he was right in front of his friends.
"There you are." He snarled, his eyes glowing bright red.
Meanwhile, the turtles were having no luck with Fishface. Donny was on top of it, his Bo staff in the mutant's mouth as he gripped onto either side like some demented cowboy trying to ride it. Fishface kept thrashing around, diving in and out of the water in an attempt to throw its would-be rider off. When that proved useless, Fishface charged forward, aiming at one of the walls with great speed. Then as it seemed they would run into it, Fishface suddenly stopped, throwing Donny off.
Mikey swam up to the monster and tried to hit him with his nunchuks while he was above water, but the ever agile Anglerfish quickly dove back under, causing Mikey to hit the surface of the water. Fishface then quickly swam away from Mikey, turned around, and swam back towards the orange turtle as fast as it could. It rammed into him, sending him flying through the air and crashing into a wall.
Raph and Leo swam up from under Fishface, hoping to tag team him. Fishface noticed them and dove back under the water, heading right towards them. It rammed right into Leo, sending the blue turtle spinning through the water. Before Raph could react, it grabbed him by the shoulders again, shoving him against a wall.
"Time... to... eat..." Fishface said in a gurgled voice that didn't sound like anything remotely human.
At that very moment, Leatherhead burst through the wall above the pool, diving into the water without a second's hesitation. Seeing Fishface's hold on Raph, Leatherhead's eyes began glowing even brighter as he charged. Fishface looked at this new opponent, immediately recognizing him as bigger prey and a bigger meal. The monster then released Raph, tossing him aside as it charged toward Leatherhead as well. As the two beasts wrestled, Raph swam towards the surface, snagging Leo on his way up. Once they hit air again, they joined their brothers and friends near the edge of the pool.
"You two ok Raph?" Mikey asked.
"Yeah bro, we're good." Raph reassured.
"Especially now that the cavalry's shown up." Leo added.
Just then, the water below them started swirling. Through the murky water, the seven of them could see Leatherhead taking a massive bite out of Fishface, causing the Anglerfish to cry out in pain. Then the water turned a thick shade of red. The group got as far away from the bloody water as they could, Mikey shivering at the sight.
"I'll never be clean again." Mikey said.
"We live in the sewers Mikey." Raph reminded. "Our definition of clean was sketchy to begin with."
Leatherhead then broke the surface, letting out a satisfied belch as he did. He covered his mouth in surprise, the glow from his eyes fading.
"Sorry." he told them.
For a moment, they just floated there, awkwardly trying to process what had just happened. Finally, Casey spoke up.
"So… What now?" he asked.
"Now, we climb." Leo supplied.
The ninjas all reapplied their climbing claws, Casey grabbing hold of Raph as Donny took April. One by one, they began climbing up the wall of the elevator shaft. Once they reached the elevator's door, Leatherhead pried them open with ease. He got out of the elevator, then pulled the turtles up one by one, followed finally by Master Splinter.
"Finally, we made it." Leo said with a sigh.
"Now we can find Hisako and get the shell outta-" Raph began.
The doors to the elevator suddenly slammed shut, surprising the group. Before any of them could question why, they heard an eerie slow clap coming towards them. Turning back towards the lab, they saw Dr. Baxter Stockman turn a corner, smiling maliciously with every step.
"Welcome to TCRI, turtles."
