Feeling super vindicated today because I had a weird rash on my arm and went to the doctor about it. Doctor says "It's ringworm, do this." and I'm like "It's not ringworm, I work with animals, you think I don't know what ringworm looks like?"

They give me treatment for ringworm, it gets worse, I go back, a different doctor goes "I still think its ringworm" and I'm like "It's not ringworm, can I please get treatment for the thing I think it is and not more of the stuff that made it worse?"

And this doctor goes "Ok, fine. Let's give you some really strong anti-histamine cream. Also here's ringworm treatment if that doesn't work because it's ringworm."

Guess what. It was an allergic reaction. It's almost like I know what ringworm looks like.

I think cis people should also be their gender of choice. Like, if you're a man, you should get to really enjoy being a man- have fun with it! If you're a woman, take the parts of womanhood that really deeply make you happy. If being a little androgynous or ambiguous or hidden is the part that really makes you happy, you don't have to be trans for that. If you wanna lean really hard into being femme or masc- do it! You have one life in your body, do what makes you happy. Ditch the stuff you don't like.

There seems to be a general malaise on most of Tumblr about TikTok getting banned in the United States.

I understand the problems, "brain rot", whatever but- A government banning a social media app that opened the world for many people is legitimately scary and upsetting. Say what you want but, there are MANY global and local issues that would not have gotten the same traction, recognition, and outreach without TikTok.

And then add to this that Meta/Facebook was one the largest lobbyists working to get TikTok banned... Like- I think folks should be more concerned about the implications of what this means, especially since the ban goes into effect the day before inauguration.
