wait, so what's goin on with JoCat? why are they the victim of the week?

This was a thing back in late 2023. JoCat received enough harassment for - and I cannot stress this enough - literally no reason that he left the internet entirely for several months with no promises to return. Some people called him weak for this, and those people are very lucky that I don't know where they live.

Everyone with a modicum of decency or empathy thought this was a huge tragedy and a failure of human goodness, and his absence was mourned across a staggering number of platforms even by people who only knew him by distant reputation. Of course, the people who think men shouldn't wear skirts or hairbows or express feelings thought this was a huge victory, and for reasons inexplicable to me, many self-declared online leftists seemed happy to side with those charming people in the triumph that they had successfully bullied and harassed a kind, sincere, GNC man so badly that he might have vanished from the internet forever. Apparently when it comes to punishing "cringe", no ally is too toxic to rally alongside.

With months to reflect and public opinion gradually catching up to the obvious conclusion that this was bullshit and should never have been allowed to happen, the handful of people who continue to act like their harassment campaign was in any way justified have mostly doubled down on "well I never said I WASN'T a huge dickhead" so they can pretty safely be ignored until they decide to start participating in the basic courtesy required for the human social contract again.

Thankfully Jo has held up pretty well with support from friends and loved ones, and has recently started being active online again. Putting himself back in the fray is an act of bravery I don't think I could match if I were in his shoes, but I'm glad he's feeling comfortable sharing the work he loves again, even if, in my opinion, the vast majority of the internet doesn't deserve that second chance.

Lily Evans was far from a white knight in shining armor in the confrontations between James & Co. and Severus. And if you want to talk about her toxic friendship with Snape, don’t try to erase her contribution to the equation.

Apparently, her close friend is lifted upside down by a spell that causes his robes to fall and expose his underwear. As he helplessly struggles, flailing to free himself, a crowd gathers to watch the spectacle. His wand is out of reach, and he is being mocked and threatened. Of course, as a true friend, she finds this picture amusing enough that she has to hold back her laughter. You know, absolutely reasonable behavior for someone who cares for you deeply. Moreover, imagine if Remus were in a similar situation—no doubt his friends' first reaction would be to laugh, or perhaps yell at his bullies to put him down. With his wand in hand, James Potter would stand by and wait for his friend to be released.

Definitely a turning point in Lily and Severus's friendship. Though Severus's behavior was heavily dictated by a strong sense of hurt after such a public humiliation and violation of his privacy, as you all say, these circumstances justify nothing when it comes to throwing those kinds of insults. Fine.

Oh, but what explains her response, then? Was she hurt too? Humiliated? If you’re saying that the mental state after such a traumatic experience as the one James inflicted upon Severus shouldn’t have affected his words, what justifies Lily’s behavior? What made such a saintly person as she join in the ridicule of her so-called friend in an instant? Not only did she join in by calling him the insulting nickname used by his abusers, but she also added another mockery of Severus to the rotten pile as if it weren’t enough already. And I want to remind you once again that Lily lost control of her emotions before she had even gone through half the humiliation that Snape had endured, for the record.

Thus, it appears that there is a precedent of hypocrisy here. Why do you make this situation appear as a one-sided insult (Severus is the big bad wolf and Lily is the victim) rather than a mutual emotional outburst? Why is Lily allowed to feel hurt but Snape isn’t, though Severus’s emotional damage is at least double? Fine. Let’s move on to the approach both of them took in their apologies.

So, apparently, Severus felt guilty after committing such an atrocity as calling Lily a Mudblood. He made a sincere attempt to apologize. Lily didn’t feel guilty for her contribution to his public humiliation; she was sure the only villain here was Severus.

Lily had every right imaginable to reject his attempts to make amends, but the thing is, Severus reconsidered his behavior—she never did. Moreover, she expressed absolute skepticism about his redemption. Should I even mention that she later started dating his bully? The one who never even tried to apologise for his assaults on Snape?

Somehow, she believed in James's redemption even without him admitting his wrongs. Let it be. That’s not the main point of discussion. What I really struggle to understand is how, given all these circumstances, Lily becomes a cheered, glorious friend, and Severus is commonly believed to be the villain in their dynamic.

Did I overlook something? Prove me wrong, if you please. Open my eyes to where exactly Lily is a saint or martyr. Where is she even a good friend in the first place? I’m all ears.

You know what makes me soooo excited for the next phase of Fadel and Style's relationship? It's that they will finally slot into the CORRECT relationship dynamics because this whole time, it's been flipped.

From the beginning, something felt off, and I think it's because Style's true desire is to be pursued. We are shown this pretty much in Style's introduction when he blatantly puts his body on display with the Crop Top Stretch. Style wants to be approached, wants to be propositioned, wants to be desired. Also, remember how he initially flirts with Fadel when his only motivation was his own attraction? He pinned the Heart Burger badge onto his chest to create an opportunity for Fadel to put his hands on Style's body.

Of course Fadel wasn't pursuing Style; was in fact, actively trying to get away (for reasons OTHER than a lack of physical attraction to Style), so it is the plot that has to drive our lovebirds together using Kant's request and partly Style's own desire to get some revenge.

But throughout their interactions, we constantly see glimpses of Style's desire to be pursued: every single time Fadel even shows a HINT of wanting Style, he immediately falls pliant, like he can't wait to let Fadel take the reins. And nothing shows this more clearly than the absolutely blissed out look on Style's face in Ep 4 when he thinks Fadel has finally admitted that he wants Style.

(Fucking hell, just look at how dazed and almost euphoric Style looks here? It's like Style has been starving for the barest hint that Fadel truly wants him.)

Which is also why we've gotten so many fake outs. Because although Fadel IS attracted to Style (Ep 2 made that...abundantly clear), he isn’t remotely ready to pursue anyone. Not only is Fadel nursing a broken heart, barely beating, he also has very justified suspicions about Style’s connection to Kant and Style's unnatural persistence.

So it's Style that has to pursue - he dodges Fadel's footsteps, and bullies his way into Fadel's life; but in between the frustration and annoyance, Fadel's walls begin to crack. And I think it's SO COOL that the first significant evidence we have of Fadel's walls crumbling is because Style puts his body on display for Fadel. Because Fadel responded to something that was naturally part of the way Style operates before he even met Fadel. And there are other, more compelling reasons why I think Fadel begins to fall for Style, but that's not really the point I'm trying to make here.

When Fadel said "If I like you, I'll do the pursuing", it wasn't just to get Style to back off. Because now that Fadel has finally chosen to explore something real with Style, we are seeing Fadel's words in action. I know some people have said Fadel's switch to flirting so blatantly with Style in Ep 4's gym scene came out of left field, but I think it may well be confirmation that this was always the dynamic they were meant to be in. Fadel likes pursuing and Style likes being pursued. They fit, they match, they're perfectly compatible.

(Fadel looks almost faintly amused by how "flustered" Style is. Because he doesn't know that Style is actually afraid of him - why would he, when Style has evidenced zero fear so far? So this comes across like Style is getting shy in response to Fadel's unexpected and more overt approach. And possibly this is Fadel starting to remember how much he enjoys the chasing.)

Unfortunately, Kant's revelation is going to screw allll of this up. But, we are finally going to see glimpses of how they work when they're aligned correctly in their dynamics! And while it will take a journey (and oh, it will be gloriously painful, won't it?), our boys are finally on the road to something lasting and I am sooo glad we get to come along for the ride. <3

I don't need to, but I'll explain my Bakugou hate because I want to.

Long post. Beware

When I started reading the series I was the same age as the characters. Looking at my interests you can probably guess that I was bullied, but instead of getting all sad, I got angry at the people treating me poorly.

So as soon as Bakugou was introduced, I didn't like him. Seeing someone my age verbally threaten and physically attacking people without being punished just really put me in a bad mood whenever he showed up.

Then certain parts of the fandom got incredibly toxic, and suddenly the author is pandering to the worst of them

But the problem keeps getting worse. The entire world warps to kiss his ass. He got everything he wanted at every turn. He deserved nothing and got everything.

Immediately established as a long-term bully. His bullying is then retroactively justified by the world itself saying that Midoriya is worth less than Bakugou as a person.

Why did Aizawa, who was famous for expelling students, not so much as give Bakugou detention for trying to attack Midoriya on the first day of school?

Why didn't All Might punish him for using that gauntlet in the Battle Trials?

Despite all of his actions so far, just since being accepted into UA, the other students still want to be friends with him. They actively choose to spend time near him.

Why is it never mentioned how him(and Kirishima) attacking Kurogiri and getting in Thirteen's way is a large part of why the USJ played out how it did?

How did Sero fail his exam by being carried out but Bakugou passed?

At the Training Camp, he actively tried to go fight the villains that have openly stated were trying to capture him. Making himself an easy target and hindering the people trying to protect him

During the Rescue Operation he somehow managed to hold his own against the majority of the League of Villains on his own? Really?

He forced Midoriya to break curfew and just starts attacking him until Midoriya fights back. It's caught on camera and Midoriya somehow gets in the same amount of trouble?

And for some reason he gets let in on the secret of One for All after being such a monumental asshole since forever, despite the fact that even Inko doesn't know? Or literally anyone who would be, like, supportive of Midoriya?

He failed the Provisional License Exam, but don't worry there's a special make-up class just for the people that made it into the second half. Everyone who failed in the first half will have to wait for the next exam.

Oh wow, flawless victory in the Joint Training Arc by displaying teamwork out of thin fucking air that was really just him barking orders at the others.

For a while we just get his usual brand of egotistical asshole-ery and now being needlessly shoved into places where Midoriya's actual friends should be. Or even any of the other side characters. Horikoshi, give them some screen time

But then the war arc and the vigilante Deku arc all just get down on their knees to suck his dick so hard that his quirk evolves and his heart explodes. And I finally get a glimmer of hope for the series to finally stop shoving him down our throats, but no.

Edgeshot decides that this one kid is so important that he will sacrifice his own life to save Bakugou specifically and no one else is on his level of importance.

Going back a step; That apology was pure fucking lip service. Not a single goddamn thing changed in the way he acted afterward. He had a couple of "soft" moments when he wasn't actively screaming and cursing, but that's it.

And Horikoshi keeps fucking doing it.

Somehow each and every thing has to include Bakugou or be about how it's effecting Bakugou or has to mention Bakugou.

The majority of the (much more interesting) cast has been completely forgotten, and Midoriya's characterization got taken out back, given three rounds to the head, skinned, washed in bleach, and hung out to dry, but Oh Wow! BAKUGOU'S HERE!

I said it before and I'll say it again, I'd throw a brick at him.

These are only the broadest strokes of what happened too. If I reread the entire series I could write a massive in-depth character analysis, but that's too much even for me.

Was gonna add this to pt 1 but decided to split it to further expend on his personality

The higher ups became very afraid and wanted him gone, believing him to be a monster. Not wonderful for his already deplorable mental health.

He joined KorTac to ‘test his adaptability and see if he will attack a friendly during battle’ (he already had but that was a conscious decision, they thought he would because of his loss of control.)

Despite how it looks, König is in complete control while in the field, he is aware of everything that is happening. He just doesn’t care as much and let’s his emotions dictate more of his reactions.

They also told all of KorTac he was there for that exact reason, they couldn’t trust him, so they really didn’t like him at first

He arrived to everyone waiting for him, including the people running KorTac, gawking at his size and hood.

It was Oni who broke the silence first, a week after he landed, basically lecturing him about what teamwork is and how ‘I won’t let you hurt any of my comrades because you can tell the difference between an enemy and a friend.’

Yeah, König had no clue they knew exactly why he was here. He didn’t do anything, just left quietly and wasn’t seen outside of briefings/mandatory meetings.

He had planned on treating KorTac like a clean slate, able to make an impression on these people by who he is and not by what they expect or heard of him

After he learned they were told some embellished horror stories of moments he would like to forget, he stayed in his room and made sure to stay out of anyone’s way.

He was honestly more happy like that though, because at least he wasn’t angry and yelling and falling like crap for that

He may not be making friends and sure he’s still incredibly lonely, but at least he’s not given them a first hand experience to justify their hate towards him.

At least he can be left alone, even if he desperately doesn’t want to be.

But for working with a large team, he was often sent out alone or with one other person. Again, still coming back bloody. But he was much less temperamental outside of it, desperate to have some sort of blank slate.

Oni and him had another confrontation that everyone thought was sure to end in a fight, but König just said ‘I wouldn’t trust me either’

No matter how mean or rude or how they taunted him into doing something, he never did. Often just left quietly and without complaint, keeping his eyes down on the ground and hunching over to shrink

He hates himself for this too, for not being strong enough to tell them he’s not like that, that he just wants a friend, that all he needs is one chance and he won’t disappoint, that if he does he’ll never show himself to anyone

This hate burns the same as all the other hate that he has form himself.

He has never hates a single person in his life, not his bullies, not the people who took his first squad, not the people who pushed him, and not the higher ups.

He hates himself because he caused them to act this way toward him, it’s all his fault constantly.

He wasn’t accepted til he saved Klaus, Fender, and Askel’s lives on a mission. Even then they were still cautious.

Eventually everyone chills and they begin to include him and interact with him.

König still really hates himself but still attempts to befriend them, since they are giving him the chance he’s always wanted.

Calisto noticed the ‘crash’ König has and questioned him about it only to be met with a an empty room and a locked door after he came to, then everyone started asking him. He never explained it or talked about it with anyone, which made him more nervous to go out because they’d question him.

He goes back into hiding in his room out of fear and they seek him out, attempting to make contact.

After a solo mission gone wrong, he comes back with four bullets in him (one thigh, one arm, one stomach, and one shoulder), a cut down his face over one eye going through his mask, and a hole in the underside of his jaw that goes through his tongue, splitting it permanently

Somehow, he is allowed to see his mother and get her to the hospital on base.

When he first sees her, he shoots up as much as he can and hugs her. He only ends up with his head in her stomach and arms around her waist but neither seem to mind

He sobs quietly, begging for her to never leave him and that he’s sorry. Neither know why he is sorry this time, but he is.

She leaves for a moment and returns with doctor approved ice cream and a new sweater she got him to replace his old ratty one.

She would lean his bed all the way back, remove the pillow, and replace it with her legs, or sit next to the pillow.

She would always trail her fingers through his long (definitely out of regulation) hair and talk to him. Telling her about her better life now that König sends her money

Even though he doesn’t respond much, she starts to guess his reactions to certain things and says her theories, getting small chuckles out of him

His mood improves much after she leaves despite the rough mission

His overall relationship with the others improves as well, since he is unable to do any missions or work, he spends his time reading or lounging around the base giving ample opportunities to bond with the rest of KorTac

Trick or Treat! I’d like a 🎃 trick, with snape/james (where Snape confesses but James is absolutely disgusted by him and says no)

In front of James stood the most heinous sight to lay eyes upon. Snivellus, with his wispy greasy hair and sallow sunken skin, hollow cheeks and crooked teeth, dark circles beneath his eyes because he was probably up all night reading about Dark Magic instead of doing something beneficial, like learning personal hygiene.

“Snivelly,” James sneered, “get out of my way before I hex you. Too late, I’m hexing you now.”

He drew his wand, ready to send Snivellus plummeting six feet underground, but before he could remember the spell to do exactly that, Snivellus lifted his head, dark eyes boring soullessly into James’s, and he commanded with authority James had never heard before, “Wait.”

James blinked at him, because those eyes were eldritch. He was tempted to take his glasses off in order to never see them again. Collecting himself, James snarled, “I don’t take orders from blood supremacists.” Once again, he pointed his wand at Snivellus, this time to wash the vile mouth which had dared to speak to James.

“James,” Snivellus raised a thin eyebrow, so thin it could’ve been etched by the tip of a quill, delicate and smooth like it was etched in one fluid, curving motion. In conclusion, it was ugly and Sev— Snivellus was a greasy twerp. Even his eyebrows had miniscule beads of sweat clinging to them. James only had to look very carefully.

And how dare Snivellus say his name? It sent an uncomfortable shiver down James’s spine, and he wrinkled his nose. “Sniv, my name doesn’t belong anywhere near your slimy mouth.” He pointedly looked at Snivellus’s lips, which were dry and chapped, flaking at the corners, pale like they were originally white but tinted with pink.

They twitched slightly. “I know why you bully me.”

“I don’t bully you,” James rolled his eyes. “I deliver justice. Which I’m about to do now.” He raised his wand, but then Snivellus’s hand was on his wrist, and the fingers on his wand loosened. It fell to the floor, but James hardly heard the clatter above the sudden thrumming of his skin under Snivellus’s fingers, the thumping of his pulse, the blood rushing through his veins. Snivellus’s hand was cold but all James could feel was his body burning up.

He yanked away from Snivellus. “What sort of Dark Magic was that?!” he yelled, cheeks blooming red in anger.

“You’re in love with me.”

James stared at him. And then he exploded. “What the fuck?! No! You disgust me! And I’m not— I don’t like guys that way! I’m a guy! I’ll have you know, I’m in love with Evans! No one could ever love you, you’re a stain on this planet, and I’m scrubbing you away! That’s not love, you bonehead! Of course, you wouldn’t know what love is, because no one has ever loved you! And no one will ever love you!”

Snivellus drew his mouth into a line. Rapidly, he muttered, as if reading off a script, “You think you love Lily because when she spends time with me you feel jealous, but you hardly give her any attention. You must be jealous of her, not me. You give me attention, constantly, when I do nothing to provoke you. You try to justify your actions, but there’s no reason, except you hate me for how I make you feel. Which is love.” Snivellus sucked in a breath, and didn’t exhale, as if awaiting judgement.

James spluttered, “You’re reading into things! And you know why you’re reading into things?! Because you love me!”

Snivellus stared at him. And then he nodded.

James felt fire surge through his veins, fuel to his furnace of fury which was reaching record-breaking temperatures, and he pointed a finger at Snivellus’s forehead. ‘Never hex a girl.’ The rules never said anything about boys. Boys were meant to protect girls, because it was always a girl and a boy. A boy and a boy? James grimaced. “Inflatus. Melofors. Flipendo.”

He picked up his wand and swivelled away, away from Snivellus and odiousness, towards Gryffindor tower, where everything was right.

After Severus picked himself off the ground, wincing at his aching back which was probably - definitely - bruised, and had deflated enough to remove the weighty pumpkin from his head, he clenched his jaw at the corridor which James— Potter had strutted down hours ago.

Slowly, he made his way to the dungeons, disguising the pain in his body with purposeful, steady movements, carefully placed feet, back straight, cloak sweeping the floor behind him as he walked, and he walked. It took forever to get to the dormitory. But at least it looked like he’d wanted it that way. Severus didn’t need to strut to own the corridors.

He stiffly sat on his bed, controlled, mechanical movement, and slipped out the book from beneath his pillow. Flipping it to the middle, it landed on the picture of Potter, the one Severus had spent most of fifth year meticulously sketching, refining, shading. During the year, he’d kept it close to his face, hidden from the world around him, so close he could smell the scent of the page, warm, earthy, musty, so close he could smell the scent of Potter, musky, sharp, sweet.

Pressing his wand to the paper, he watched his effort light up in flames.

Severus hoped it was over now. He hoped he’d get over it, and if he didn’t get over it, then he would hate and hate until he did. This was the first and last time he’d ever wear his heart on his sleeve. Doing so was stupid, he knew that. Emotions should be locked up and never thought or felt, never show anyone empathy, sympathy, because if the whole world was cold and distant, it would be a better place. No love, no hurt.

The smell of smoke was thick, acrid and bitter. Severus inhaled deeply. It smelled like Potter.

You stared at dismay at Hyein who at least had the decency to look apologetic as she nodded " Im sorry Y/n, we didn't really expect you back.. " she trailed off , uncertain what she could say to justify why.

Right you didn't expect me back this year

You bit back the remark, sighing as you looked at her " it's fine, I'll just check with the principal and see. ". Hyein smiled and walked back inside leaving you alone. Your smile dropped as you turned around.

You opened your locker and delicately kept your camera inside, now you probably had to use it outside school, you would deal with it later, you had to sign up to at least any club to get the extra credit you missed due to being absent.

" Mr. kang, it's me Y/n ". You said as you meekly opened the door to the brightly smile welcoming you in.

Mr. Kang gestured to the seat in front of him and said " well i suppose it didn't work out? ". You nodded " is there any other club i could join?  I really do need the credit". You asked as he pondered over it. There was a tense 5 minute gap as he thought over it before sighing and shaking his head. 

" Sadly Y/n, there isn't I'm afraid ".

You gulped as you wondered what you would do. You weren't a top scorer student , having grades good enough to be at least in the top 20 in your class, Suddenly Mr. Kang spoke up " well i had this special request and if you take it, I'll give you the credit and whatever you want and to be honest i trust you and you are a capable person."

sadly you were tempted by the credits which you so desperately needed.

" okay i guess i could sign up for it ". you said , unfortunately sealing your future for the rest of your school life unaware how much this would change your life. 

" Great! Well head over to Kangta's room and tell him i sent you for the football teams manager. "

and so here you were , in front of his office , knowing once you knock on the door . there would be no coming back . You groaned internally , the only reason why you were here was one the very tempting offer and two you really had no better things to do other than roam around during after school . You sighed and firmly knocked on the door , hearing a muffled come in.  

“ Mr.kangta? its me Y/n , the principal sent me.” you said as you nervously stood in front of the coach who looked at you , his expression filled with hope and expectation “ really- he sent you?”. 

you frowned “ yeah- why?”. he chuckled “ well i mean you seen the team , girls who come here are on their personal agenda and Mr.Kang sure spoke highly of you Y/n , i hope you are here to sign up?”.  well screw his face , his hopeful expression made it extremely hard for you to say no. you awkwardly scratched your head and nodded “ well yeah i'm here to sign up unless-?”.

he beamed “ excellent choice Y/n , well there's no practice on Mondays , its a free day so we’ll start from tomorrow , practice starts at 3 , i hope you’ll enjoy the football team .” 

you went in search of your friend , desperate to tell someone. 

“ you are KIDDING me !.” eunseo screeched as you broke the news to her on wednesday , she looked almost offended you did not tell her yesterday , you awkwardly shrugged “ i mean it's not such a big deal , its just a football team.”

Eunseo choked “ Y/n , its not just a football team , i mean yes but y/n the schools most drop dead gorgeous boys who are literally greek gods are there and you are saying its just a team.” she exclaimed as you paused .

“ I guess they are good looking.”  Eunseo sighed and looked around and leaned in “ Try to get me Jay’s number will you?”.

“ Eunseo!.” you scolded her as you glanced at your watch , “ well i have to go , ill see you later.” you waved at her and walked away , hearing a distant “ tell me how it went!”.

Never in your life had you imagined you would ever be a manager ,you wondered what they could have told about you to make you sound so capable . You walked out into the ground , your eyes scanning the ground scattered with boys , either busy warming up or talking around. Your eyes fell on a group of boys sitting near the goal post and seeing them you immediately realised who they were .

The famous boys who you- you paused when you realise you don’t even know their name properly . Or who it was. The entire female students at your school would be disappointed in you and would have disowned you. 

“ Y/N!.” you froze as you felt everyone's glance on you as they watched their coach jog towards you , giving you a firm slap on your back and ruffled your hair. An action that almost feels like a habit for him. He coughs and looks around .

“ well what are you looking for , come here!” . within seconds almost every scrambled together and stared at you in interest . You smiled softly as Mr.Kang patted your shoulder and introduced you.

“ Welcome Y/n , your manager.” 

There was a pin drop silence before you felt yourself being pushed forward , and the next you being surrounded by boys asking you questions from everywhere. You gulped and tried your best to answer them or at least trying to understand what they were asking.

You quickly noted your jobs and asked “ Jungwon mentioned that he hoped i would stay? Was there anyone before me?”. Mr.kangta looked taken aback and shrugged “ There was one girl and she suddenly left no explanations , i never really talked much to her to be honest .” 

you hummed and stood up “ all right then , let me fill up these bottles first.” you picked up the bottles and filled it.Noting the names on the bottle. You had to admit after you were done filling the bottles and placing it on the table , you watched Heeseung and Jake [ you hoped ] were playing , you got distracted .

“ Watch yourself.” a deep voice spoke up behind you , you took a step back looking at the tall guy behind you, he raised an eyebrow and extended his hand out , grabbing the bottle from your hand “ that's mine.” He looked at you and turned around.

At least two days had passed and by far no one in the team had approached you to talk , which wasn't really that upsetting  but you were kinda bummed out hoping you might make some friends . Well you could have approached them but seeing their pretty blank faces made you rethink twice.

At least Jungwon and Sunoo talked to you , barely but it was a start nonetheless. The rest of them collectively ignored you. Or kept their interactions minimal . You wiped your sweat as you sat down . Okay was it you or did your jobs suddenly increase . From filling the bottles to grabbing some shoes to running across the school. you were exhausted but hey at least this was some exercise for you to keep fit. 

“ Man if i wasn't late , i could have joined the photography club “. you complained unaware of the male next to you.

“ You didn't wanna join us?”. you gasped and almost cursed what was up with these people sneaking up on you. 

“ I mean yeah jake , what did you think i was your fangirls or what?”. you asked , genuinely curious. The sheepish expression on his face confirmed it as you chuckled “ Well understandable but to be honest i only knew who you were exactly after i joined the club and that's because of the jersey.” you admitted.

you stood up and picked up your bag “ Anyways i really have to go , ill see you around jake , bye!.” you waved at him and walked away.

The next day to say you were surprised was an understatement , you saw Heeseung and Jay in the corridor and heeseung high fived you and jay smiled at you , exchanging pleasantries.  

“ Y/n please tell me i saw it right but did you just talk to Jay and Heeseung!?”. Eunseo practically screeched in your ears as you rolled your eyes . “ i mean i am their manager .” Eunseo complained as she said how calm you were. 

You quickly went to the club room , you did notice something you really wanted to touch up and restore its beauty to it. Pulling it out of the box , you grinned as you quickly folded it as small as you could before delicately keeping it inside your bag. It was a well known fact that the tournament was going to start and you thought you would repair it before it. 

“ Oh hey there Jake.” you greeted the boy who was leaning on the wall , he grinned at you.

somehow you were sitting between Sunghoon and Ni-ki  , two extremely tall guys , honestly hard to read and come on , an ice prince on your left and a intimidating boy. You sipped your juice trying to focus on what sunoo was talking about it. Heeseung occasionally met your eyes and winked at you causing you to look at him confused before brushing it off as friendly winks.

“ Y/n , what do you have after school?”. Jay asked as he leaned on the desk . You raised an eyebrow “ i have to go to the art store for some things , why?”. Heeseung nodded “ Do you want to hang out with us?”. You stared at them and pointed at yourself “ Me?”. 

“ Yeah if you don’t mind?”. jungwon added in. You smiled in apologetic manner and turned down the offer “ Maybe some other time , like tomorrow after practice.” Unaware of the surprised glances thrown at your way , you stood up and said “ So ill see you later guys.” 

This time it was Ni-ki who spoke up “ Well i guess You were right Jake Hyung.” Jake laughed and leaned back on his chair with a i told you so expression . And extended his hand as jay grumbled and slapped the money in his hand. Jake blowing him a kiss as he kept it inside his wallet. 

Buying the necessary supplies , you stare at your bags in regret. Maybe you had overestimated your purchases, there was no way you could carry this all together with your bag and the weight of the banner already pulling you down. You bit your lips in sadness as you folded up your sleeves , ready to lift it. Maybe you should have left the banner back at school and taken it back tomorrow , allowing you to work on it during the weekend. 

You managed to reach a quarter of your way back home. Seriously regretting it , you groaned as you complained “ why did i even do this today.” 

you really had not planned out your journey. Suddenly you felt the things in your hand being lifted and taken away . your eyes widened as you looked at the boy in front of you walking , he glanced back and asked you in his deep voice, sending waves of electricity through your spine.

I’m gonna wait to see the special before drawing any more finale conclusions but for the moment everything we got from the leaks is just so… weird? and nonsensical? 

So the only reason why our Marinette didn’t turn evil was because of Alya. Which contradicts everything TA and his team have been saying about abuse. Why does Alya being a positive influence for Marinette works but Audrey being a negative influence for Chloé doesn’t? They had Mylene say, “Having a bad mother doesn’t justify your actions” so neither should bullying. The lesson with Chloe is that abuse is ok and children that turn out ‘wrong’ because of it should just be left alone with their abusers because they somehow deserve it by not being able to turn out perfect on their own. Why shouldn’t the same logic apply to Emonette and Emodrien? (I believe they’re the names the fandom’s been using but I’m not sure) You’re being bullied? Doesn’t matter. You shouldn’t lash out and become evil. It’s 100% on you now. Like seriously, am I missing some piece of information here? If I am please correct me! Because as of now it just doesn’t make sense to me. The lessons TA wanted to teach its fans is that sometimes people are just bad and no amount of tragic backstory justifies their actions, but every single choice he’s done from season 3 is just proving over and over that this logic only applies when it’s time to diminish Chloe. Chloe is 14 and has decided to be evil. Emonette and Emodrien are 14 have decided to be evil. “But they tried to show Chloe the right path and she didn’t take it, she’s evil” Gabriel seems to be a good father in the other universe, so shouldn’t be this the same for Emodrien as well? How did he even end up being a ray of sunshine with an abusive terrorist father but ends up being a villain with a good father? How does that even work? I really hope there’s more to the special because if they’re really going for the message that somehow Gabriel’s abusive parenting was a good thing for Adrien… I’m going to scream. 

Like, I understand the story they were going for with Chloe. Unfortunately, it's true that some people don't change. But then they began stating that she's not an abused child and it's not the influence of her mother that made her this way, it's just that she's Evil™. And her "consequences" ended up being more abuse. It's so fucked up.

And you're exactly right about Chloe being exempt from the justifications and explanations that the rest of the cast receives. Emonette gets to commit terrorism, and all this can be explained away by her having been bullied by Chloe, but Chloe isn't influenced by her mother's abuse, oh no, she's just born evil and is unworthy of change! The Chloe equivalent of Emonette's story would be for her to be sent back in disgrace after committing all her crimes to be bullied by Chloe some more, but you just know that ain't gonna be how it goes down. The characters are going to downplay Shadybug and Claw Noir's crimes, offer them compassion and insist that they are good people, and they're gonna get off scott-free. And of course, Emonette wouldn't deserve more bullying as a consequence, and that's the truth. But apparently Chloe's deserved ending is more abuse? It's horrid.

And the Gabriel-Adrien implications are a step further into the abuse apologia category. I just wrote a whole post about it, but you're right on the money about the implications. And I really think that's what's going to be portrayed, unintentionally or not. It sucks.

So errmmm apparently Neil is a Zionist which I'm being honest when I say this. So I just read the article I see the perspectives a lot. And I said this while I was playing thru the game but them explicitly letting the audience know Dina is Jewish was a choice. And most times when something explicitly says "this person is Jewish" idk it's usually for some weird reason. THEORY TIME: KENG IS DEAD AND H(A)UNTING

Jin saw Keng in the temple, right? We all remember that. But Phee did NOT (or so he claims). And that's not because Phee didn't know him, because he absolutely did. So what does that mean?

For once, I am a "there's a paranormal something going on in here" so Imma get right on and say that is a ghost. And they're being haunted. So why would the ghost not appear to Phee?

Well, we ALL (enphasizing this for the people claiming Non is a cheater and fundamentally misunderstanding power dynamics and minor abuse) know Keng gets to abuse Non because he's extremely vulnerable. Phee, by removing himself from the equation, and thus taking away the only voice of reason Non actually made an effort to try and listen to, he's making him all the more vulnerable. Hence, enabling Keng's abuse even further. So, seemingly, from what we know until now, Keng has no reason to dislike Phee.

On the other hand, Jin recorded him and Non (even if he did not publish it and it was Tee [as some speculate due to the accusation that Fluke makes back in the present] or someone else). That was an act against him. (and we can all hate him for it, after all, he was an asshole for doing it, but the truth is that boy was living in his BL bubble and his entire world fucking shattered in that moment and I can't think that must be easy)

If we take that, we can justify Jin's guilt in the present and how he's always going on about "being a coward" and "dead weight". But also possibly speculate about his guilt in the past.

If you did nothing to help when he was bullied and then recorded your friend (and crush) in that kind of situation, wouldn't you feel guilty?? And if you knew Non was dating Phee and they broke up because of that asshole Keng, wouldn't you be raging and boiling?? I would.

Honestly, I think we can consider murder here, tbh. So much cowardice is returned in bravery the day Jin loses his goddamn mind and kills Keng to try and defend Non. Obviously though, if that happened, we can assume it went wrong (they couldn't hide the body, Non was framed for the murder, Jin ran away and left him to take the blame, Non ended up killing himself because he was attached to his groomer whom he now saw as his lifeline, etc... idk, there's a number of possibilities). Point is: Keng is probably dead, in my opinion. And he's on the h(a)unt.

This would also explain the hand on Tee during ep.1: Keng is a known perv. He's fucking weird. Sure, he seems to be more of a pedo and all, but young adults (as they are in the present) are still considerably younger than he would be. Plus, they were his students and I feel like that matters to him as well (because again: fucking creep).

So what about Non?

Tbh, I don't know. He could be alive (as the killer or not), he could be institutionalized (as @fracturediron suggests in this post), he could be dead... Idk. We'll have to wait and see what this bs happening to him all leads to. Idk. I seriously don't know. It's a mystery to me and if y'all are more capable than me, pls go ahead and speculate, bc I can't.

I feel like if he had to dwell on it, Cope would try and make a billion reasons why he shouldn’t feel too bad about it. Like “Well how could I have known the truth if it was always manipulated?” or “Well, 2/3 of them were assholes and I frankly don’t really have an opinion of the third.” Copia canonically sucks at confronting harsh truths and complicated situations; a lovely thing to have inherited from a father who avoids reality when he can and a mother who avoids communicating. I think also he’d probably try and justify it to himself as “We wouldn’t have gotten along anyway” since he’s so used to others not liking him around or bullying him. He’d see the Emeritus progeny as super rich spoiled kids who’d look down on his poor orphan self.

Though in a way, he had performing to distract him. But now that a majority of his time will require him to sit down, do more paperwork, attend meetings, etc — aka, things that will definitely allow his mind to wander. I wonder if then he’d have no choice but to think about it more …

What ideas do you have so far for the mlp movie characters/plot?

CRACKS KNUCKLES. ok so I changed like a lot of the film/cut a lot of it,,

Only things I kept was capper, SK, and tempest, the hypogriffs just feel unnecessary to me/for toy sales and even then I already changed up how I’m doing them (that being making them the sirens instead bc as cool as the hypocampus/hypogriff combo is on paper I think they were overused/i personally got tired of them really fast 😭) KILL GRUBBER ON SITE NO HESITATION, the pirates are unneeded as well imo, though i did have an idea of characters to take their place of sorts (those being maybe some of SKs minions ? Plays same role but feels less random) my thought was other little cloud dogs that are the different cloud types/names ? BUT still not fully dead set on them but it’s just a fun idea

I lovedddd twilight being flawed so I def wanna play on that, I feel she’d be playing on a ends justifying the means sort of plot for the film, less a roadtrip film and instead more a character study/worldbuilding thing with mane cast and SK, pushing twi to her limits and regressing backwards to old habits of self reliance and not trusting her friends/throwing them under the bus so to speak

tempest is kinda the same but I wanted to play on her ideology bc her backstory doesn’t fully line up with her mentality to me (ponies wasting magic on trivial things + that her friends abandoned her/open up your eyes) instead of an accident my thought is she looses her horn more recently and it was intentional— my idea was maybe she was a student at tias school for gifted unicorns, but I don’t think she was that powerful probably the most she had was her fireworks (hence her projecting that thought that ponies are waiting their magic on things that don’t matter bc that’s how she felt about herself looking back after loosing her horn), she had a few friends (not sure who they’d be tho, maybe I’ll reuse those g6 bully characters they reused from g5 concept art?? Idk) but as you can guess from what I just said they are actually bullies who are just saying they were friends to use her/pick on her, which would in some way lead to them pulling a big prank that goes wrong (probably showing her a spell to try being like “oh none of us can get it can you try it?? Ur wayyyy stronger lols I bet you’ll get it!” And said spell like overheats her horn/uses too much magic it just explodes (rather than it being broken off bc I don’t think I want horns to be that fragile (tho i understand she was a kid in canon when it occurred so I can let it slide there ig)) so her mindset kinda lines up better if she was betrayed by so called friends/was herself “wasting magic”, she’s a foil to twilight in that she’s a version of her who doesn’t have magic OR friendship, similarly to how sunset is a vision of twi without friendship

Not 100% sure how tempest would team up/meet SK but maybe in some kind of summoning him or ritual or prayer just SOMETHING like that where she’s wanting help

SK as already shown is still comedic but he’s still INTIMIDATING asf. Like bro is scaryyyyy but also he dgaf , kinda like discord but more consistently mean spirited/not afraid to hurt ponies

my thought for SKs motive could be something to do with how the ponies control the weather/he feels robbed like his purpose is being taken away, so both of them want some revenge on the ponies in one form or another. Bc there’s no staff here this means draining the princesses magic would go differently, I do like them being stoned bc now it gives SK a vantage point of oh well if you turn yourself in to me I free ur princess after (the only reason the day night cycle isn’t messed up/the world isn’t on fire from the sun is probably SK has clouds blocking all the sky both for a cool/ominous visual and as a reminder they have a time limit/he’s already taking control) anyway so now the idea is maybe the magic draining is instead to fix tempests horn, seeing as SK is already yk a god and all that, still not sure if he would betray tempest or not or maybe he just goes too far/further than tempest wanted things to go? Shrugs I can see it going both ways

I don't think it's canon at all and the only thing it tells me about people who like it is that if they watched Marvel's Infinity War, they probably thought Thanos loving Gamora enough to sacrifice her was really sweet and not absolutely horrifying as a show of abuse.

I'm not saying William was never nice. I'm gonna say this once and only once, as someone who is a victim of abuse himself and knows many people in even worse situations:

A few minutes of kindness do not make up for hours of cruelty and torment.

Abuse isn't love. I love William Afton, but that comes with owning the fact that he's a piece of shit. I don't like changing stuff I see as unsavory, either, despite my own experiences, though I'm sure I could fix him or at least run him over with my Toyota Civic, etc etc.

I have nothing to add here, but I don't even think he likes alcohol that much. But I found it important to mention with the above, since typically fans fall into one or the other category. Which is either blaming his bad behavior on vices, or claiming he doesn't have them at all because he secretly loves his son that died and that it's all for him? Which is not true. Continuing.

- William Afton purposely let his son die, and he was the first child to die.

Let me explain. In the games, William knew that CC was getting bullied through all the cameras in the house, and the one in the Fredbear Plush that he frequently spoke to CC through as a manipulation tactic.

I think that he let Michael kill CC on purpose because he frequently pit them against each other (as implied through. Everything?) and it was his first real taste of death. I don't think it mattered that it was his own or he would have intervened when they were fighting in the first place. If he wanted Michael to stop, he could have broken character through CC's toy to do so. But he didn't. And moreover, he was experimenting with fear gas on his children in the games?? He wouldn't have had all the cameras otherwise. It's kind of horrifying to think he would subject all his children to horrific nightmares but still "loves" them? I don't think William Afton is a sociopath or anything, but I'm thinking that it's possible people give him way more credit for "caring about people" than is actually true. He's self serving. Not super evil, not super nice. He could go either way if it benefits him. People don't really understand how being selfish works, I notice, and tend to sort William into the boxes of either being secretly tragic or evil. The world is not so black and white, and nor is William.

- The reason that in the films, Golden Freddy kid has a grudge against William, is because HE'S the crying child and he knew William was the killer but didn't tell the other children because William was his dad.

I think GFK (Golden Freddy Kid) was killed by Vanessa, much in the same way that Michael killed CC in the games. I think this is a major thing Raglan held over Vanessa's head to help "influence" her into becoming a cop, she killed his son. He probably uses it to his advantage, and undoubtedly plays along with the "grieving father" story just to guilttrip her, but judging from the stare GFK gives William while he's seizing in the backroom, it's not true. And GFK knows that. He's the leader because he was the first, but he's not around often because Vanessa is his sister and he's not really sure how to deal with that, either.

- William has a dozen ways to justify or explain away what he did, obfuscate, but the honest truth is that he just enjoys it. He loves the thrill, the betrayal, the satisfaction of getting away with it, the twist in his stomach every time someone looks at him knowing he did it and being unable to prove it. He loves his restaurant, so it pains him when it closes, but it was worth it.

- Henry also kinda sucks.

He's not the worst parent ever, but he's definitely not winning any awards. He literally beats his daughter in the graphic novels. He's just average for the 70's as a parent, and people forget that. Sure, he loves his daughter, but what I really think is that he loves the idea of a daughter more than having one. He tried to keep her safe, and despite his best efforts, she died. And he spiraled, begging for forgiveness from someone who didn't really care because even then she kind of knew.

In my mind, Henry's not a religious man until Charlie dies. He's Catholic, and he has a rosary that he frequently counts the beads of regularly to beg for forgiveness for letting her die. It doesn't get easier when he knows who did it, and if anything, it gets worse. He does everything he did in the games to atone, and not necessarily for his daughter despite him saying so. After all, he found his daughter in Pizza Sim, but he waited and lured all of them back instead of just designing Lefty to set fire as soon as it caught her. I would say that's the biggest pointer. If it wasn't about more than her, then he wouldn't have gathered everyone.

- Henry dyes his hair black after faking his suicide.

I think he's kind of shaggy, and he gets skinnier and gaunt after it because of grief and bad habits like smoking and not eating properly. He's fairly tall even if he's not quite as tall as William, so it looks a bit odd when he starts shedding weight. Though, thinking on it, neither of them keep weight by the time Pizza Sim comes 'round considering William's flesh has come off by the pound.

- William's obsession is hilariously one-sided.

Henry doesn't know about it. He doesn't need to know, anyways. He probably wouldn't have sex with William, generally, but you never know. William likes to joke about it, or imply it, but Henry laughs and shrugs it off - at least when he's in a good mood. He thinks William's funny. If he's in a bad mood, it's annoying, and he tells William to fuck off.

- William's obsession itself comes from jealousy of Henry's family.

I think especially in the movies, I like to headcanon William as trans and Henry as cis. He sees Henry with a full family and gets jealous because he doesn't really feel like he has that, and he might as well since the death of his son lines up so perfectly, he could just take it right out from under Henry. It's all too easy to help them match. Henry doesn't appreciate what he has, and on some level, maybe he's saving Charlie from such a miserable life with a know-it-all who doesn't realize what a gift he has. (Being born the way he was meant to be.) And maybe, just maybe, he's saving Charlie from a cruel and unforgiving world that didn't accept William, and certainly wouldn't like Charlie just on account of being a girl. William would know, he was one once. And after that, he realizes he has a hunger for it. There's a certain trust that children afford you, this look in their eyes. It's the kind you normally only get from the closest of friends, but it's easier when he's Vanessa's dad, or their good pal Spring Bonnie. It's everything to him to see that look of betrayal once he hurts them, knowing he caused it. It makes him laugh. He couldn't explain it to anyone who hasn't experienced it for himself, but it's fun. It's like winning the most intense version of Blackout.

- William couldn't kill Henry if he wanted to.

He just couldn't do it. His obsession with Henry causes him to hesitate, almost confused with love, and then he just can't. Henry could kill William, though. William could definitely hurt Henry though.

In Family Jewels-verse, is there a reason Odalia picked Raine as a puppet flunky and passed up the chance to order Darius around? I feel like it’s possibly psychologically interesting, but it could just be that she’s seen them as inanimate puppets so much that they don’t really feel like people anymore and she just picked the first puppet she happened to glance at

See last time I was watching For The Future I did go, "wait, fuck, the way I'm writing Odalia, if she was looking at a bunch of Coven Head puppets, she would pick Darius to bully first no question, I'm gonna have to come up with a reason to justify why she picks Raine instead or my fic's gonna fall apart."

Anyway. I'm not sure it'll come up in the fic at all actually, but I do have A Reason, and it's that Odalia gets Darius to make the Collector's pizza rolls instead because she knows he can't stand pizza grease.

Odalia, ofc, is too upper class to eat pizza at all herself, but she has Memories of Alador slurping up pizza and wiping the grease all over his coat when they were teens, and Darius being the one person more Horrified by this than she was. She doesn't want to make the Collector pizza rolls :c You know who'll want this even less than she does? Fucking Darius. Go make the pizza rolls, puppet guy. She's not sure if he's actually Aware of what's happening and how he's being made to suffer at all, but maybe one day he'll get un-puppetefied and discover grease all over his dumb fucking gloves and have a little cry about it. <3

So anyway Odalia watches him go off to make the pizza rolls and is then like, "wait, shit, I still need to move these puppets, and I'm still too intimidated by Coven Heads I didn't go to school with to make demands of them. Raine I guess you're gonna have to pick them up for me with your weak nerd arms. Fuck. Darius is probably a lot stronger and could get this dealt with for me a lot quicker. Foiled once again by being so caught up in petty assholery that I didn't think anything through. Raine please you just dropped five people on the ground, this is gonna take us forever. I'm deciding this is Your fault actually."
