#aw #that sounds nice #anonymous #answered #I was wondering what the aged paper is doing there but it reminded me of something #so I'm going to share a weird personal detail totally unprompted #I think I used to have pica disorder when I was a kid I would gnaw on and eat a lot of small inedible objects #pieces of cardboard rubber bands and blu tack #the plastic animal figurines I had had bitemarks on them and were often missing bodyparts like if a dog had gotten to them #also a ton of uncooked pasta #I think it wasn't a flavor thing I had obsessions for specific textures that weren't found in actual foods #I particularly craved those candy wrappers that are made of waxed paper #(finns might be familiar with pihlaja or marianne wrappers for example or those translucent inner wrappers in lehmäkarkki/ cow cream fudge)#can't say for sure when it stopped but one day I realized that hey hold on this probably isn't normal human behavior #I think I was over 10 but under 15 #and I had forgotten the whole thing but got such a vivid flashback from that line it was actually kind of alarming

i actually wanted to buy a new sketchbook today but they didn't have the only brand I like using at empik

#idk why #where is ittt #i thought there was a ton of them and then i looked and it was those oxford sketchbooks woth disgustingly smooth paper #all sketchbooks out there are either too textured or too smooth #i like canson pls canson come back #i would like a different brand preferably with colored covers cause im tired of the black i want a pink sketchbook or something #but everything is blackkkk #and the covers are thick as fuck too #i tried a different brand two times now and every time i just wasted my money i cant do that shit it was awful #i want to buy online but i like to touch the paper before buying ugh #that's why i can't buy those sketchbooks that are wrapped in foil at stores #who even came up with that that's an awful idea #i bought one of those art creation sketchbooks that have their own stand at the art store here they look like fancy premium sketchbooks #literally the worst paper ive had the displeasure of drawing on #lined school notebooks i drew in in primary school are better than that #im in sketchbook hell ughhh #I've had moleskin when it was hyped a lot too and its mid too nothing worth spending this much money on

Hellooo I have a question for you about the vetiverfox skirts. The posing in the pictures makes them LOOK different than the other skaters to me-- like a different material or something. But they're the same, right? If I ordered the moth I should expect it to wear about the same as a mage skater I already have?

They look different because they're mockups! The base pictures were of solid grey skirts, which vetiver can then use to put patterns on top. The angle and being closer up may also be what's making them look different, but because vetiverfox's patterns are often really intricate I use more zoomed in pictures as the main listing image compared to other designs.

And yes, the actual finished skirts are the same as any others. They'll be the same material, fit, etc as your mage skater

#there's a lot of reasons i don't have real photos of VF's skaters #but maybe at some point I'll have some extras on hand long enough to take pictures #mockups tend to show their patterns more legibly as well so it's a trade off between making it clear what the patterns is like #vs showing the skirt texture/material #joggers are all real pictures because jogger mockups always look god awful 😅#anyways #haha #yeah if any skirts are a mockup the listing description info will say!#right now i think it's just VF skaters and my Agony Maxi #since i replaced Ascension and Efflorescence mockup images with real pics yesterday #ask #witch vamp #vetiverfox #skater skirt

#In other words: Hell #Lol #Normally I wouldn't show my process but I Must drag this paper it is So bad #Plus you can see some of the other little tricks I do! I leave things mo~stly alone but I will sometimes cheat where I can!#I'll also reconstruct if something can't be saved or if I just forgot to draw something on paper lol - or if I ran out of room #Ughhhh these edits took foreverrrrrr #I did some quick math on it somewhat recently actually #An average single edit takes ~4 minutes of continuous work #Averaged between the low of a couple minutes and high of getting into double digits #There was a whole thing about each page having approx. 30 doodles and each doodle being 4mins of editing and each set being 6 doodles etc. e #Basically I put a lot of time into my art and the majority of that isn't even drawing lol #I have Got to find a way to flip that metric...#But with these - these Easily averaged into the double digits each #It's mostly cleaning - stray lines don't take much time at all! Even reconstruction isn't bad #But for whatever reason this paper just Textures Horribly #Leave my blank spaces blank! I don't want toning there!#You can even see! I didn't leave behind all that many guidelines! It was just the paper being awful!#Some of it's still there if you tip your screen at certain angles #I can't because - broken hinge lol - so I mostly had to guess where to hit #Ugh. I'm just glad I'm finally done with this paper #I miss Norcom so bad :( I haven't been able to track down a distributor for years now

how will we ever get the spark to wonder, question, and think deeply about art when someone says a prompt or two into a generator, and out comes a painting that doesnt mean anything, because nobody took the time to tell a story within it? how can anybody do that if the art has no meaning like with ai art? when it isnt meticulously crafted by the complex mind of a creative human?

you cant tell an ai to convey the hurt and betrayal of a mortal against their own hubris as they fall off of the high horse they pitched themselves upon the way that a human would, because ai isnt human. it will never be human. and to compare ai art to human art and call them equals is dehumanization, and it strips art of every power it has ever had across the whole of human history.

I love food . Food is so good but listen. Sometimes I hate trying new foods. And I hate it because sometimes I discover even more things that fuck with my stomach and make me nauseous and it is NOT fun and that's not even mentioning the new textures a food can be so good but the texture can just. Ruin it. I'm so sad.
