Cantering horse run cycle

I've been working on this on and off since the summer which probably explains why it's not quite as good as I'd like it to be. I'm aware of the issues but I feel like it's still worth posting here since I'm very happy I completed it. Drawn with pencil on sandwich paper.

i was requested to doodle some anthro ponies as a proof of concept for a commission a little while back and i thought the doodles looked kinda cool so i've finished them up into a neat little sketch page.

and the lower right one is marcus, who did not have a pony design before. made him a unicorn as i didn't have any other unicorn characters, with silverclaw being a pegasus and kat being an earth pony in this AU

Bäckahäst in Harness

With this painting I wanted to explore the idea of kelpie or bäckahäst geting captured and put to work. I wanted to see how much of that vibe I could convey without any obvious signifiers. I was inspired in part by Schiller's poem Pegasus in Harness, except I thought a blood thirsty water horse would fare better than Pegasus and people would know better than to mess with it. I didn't use any specific references and just used a couple of photos to inspire the pose and keep the harness more or less accurate. I used acrylic paint on paper.
