Started rewatching sons of garmadon
(Lloyd’s voice is so jarring after all the other seasons)
But I got to this scene
The freaking foreshadowing that he was an oni!!!!
#I’m fairly certain no one else is shown like that#it’s also so obvious on how it’s all Harumi setting it up#there is no way the mask was stored anywhere near her room before hand#that’s stupid#that puts her as the princess in danger#also her being a slob?#they show her room before#she intentionally messed it up so he follows her#and there is no way she went out and fed people on the regular#I bet all those people were paid to be there and take part of what she was doing#oni#oni lloyd#ninjago#ninjago lloyd

You may notice I frequently comment on the assumptions people make about animal facilities based on their branding. Frequently, people assume accredited facilities are inherently better for animals than unaccredited facilities, or assume sanctuaries are inherently more moral / better at caring for their animals than zoos.
I want to show you an example of why I am always, always skeptical of these assumptions.
If you’re in the California area, you might have heard about Hank the Tank - who is actually a Henrietta, btw - the 500 pound nuisance bear from Lake Tahoe who broke into 21 homes in search of food. She was recently captured by wildlife officials and moved to a sanctuary in Colorado. The Wild Animal Sanctuary has three main facilities, two in Colorado and one in TX. To give you some context, it’s the biggest carnivore sanctuary in the country - they advertise somewhere between 300-500 animals, mostly large carnivores, between their properties. It’s where most of the Tiger King cats went. It’s PETA’s preferred placement for confiscated exotic animals. So, obviously, it’s got to be great, right? Except… take a look at what they posted about Henrietta’s arrival.
Here’s their post about Henrietta’s arrival at the Refuge, the large facility in Colorado that isn’t open to the public. Let’s take a closer look at that food trough…
What do we see here? An entire rotisserie chicken that is either blackened or highly seasoned, and a whole ham. Maybe a second chicken underneath the pile, I can’t quite tell. The sanctuary gets the majority of their bear food donated from groceries stores once it’s past the sell-by date, so we know those are older meats and they’re full of a ton of salt. Then, for fruit and veg, there’s a cantaloupe, mango, corn, avocado, grapes, and apples. Maybe a pepper or two, it’s hard to tell. That’s a lot of sugar and not a lot of fiber or roughage.
But… on top of it and to the right… are those Twizzlers?
Yes.
The sanctuary confirmed on Facebook that they fed this recently rescued obese bear what looks like almost an entire pack of Twizzlers.
I don’t know of any world in which it’s appropriate to feed candy to a bear. Maybe a piece or two as a really high value reinforcer for hard behaviors (that isn’t relevant here, it’s openly against this sanctuary’s ethos to do any husbandry or medical training). An entire pack of Twizzlers is just appalling. But it’s not uncommon for this facility! I have a book written about their operations and animal care (that I bought at their gift shop this spring) which openly discusses how the bears get fed bread, doughnuts, marshmallows, and all sorts of incredibly unhealthy food that comes in with the grocery donations.
But hey, this is apparently fine for the bears, according to the sanctuary’s founder. He was quoted in that same book as saying “Bears are the only animal I know of that can eat insane amounts of sugar and it never hurts them. It does not hurt their organs. They do not get clogged arteries. They do not have high blood pressure. In the wild they eat all these sweet berries in the fall, and they convert sugar to fat… so the more sugar they get the better… we would all love to have a system like that!”
Now while it’s true that bears have physiological adaptations that modulate their insulin production and sensitivity in ways that appear to prevent them from from developing diabetes, that does’t mean it’s healthy for them to regularly eat processed carbohydrates, sugar, and general junk food. And remember - Henrietta gained her fame because of how incredibly overweight she already is, and because she was seeking out human food, According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, a healthy weight for a normal adult black bear is between 100-300 pounds. So, obviously, the best thing to do is… continue to feed her candy.
Then, later on in the book, it details how they have to bribe a camel to sit tight for a regular medical examination (since they don’t train for medical behaviors) by letting him drink a can of Mountain Dew each time.
If a zoo was known publicly to be feeding their animals Mountain Dew or a couple Twizzlers - even just once, on a rare occasion - they’d be eviscerated in the media and by public opinion. But feeding out inappropriate junk food appears to be a pretty common practice at this place, and it just goes unscrutinized because everyone assumes sanctuaries are inherently better for animals.
So, long story short, never make assumptions about the quality of a facility based on it’s branding or accreditation. (TWAS is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries). If you have concerns about the ethics or practices of a facility, always try to put your preconceptions aside, go and see for yourself, and think critically about what you see and what you’re told.
#animal sanctuary#hank the tank#zoo industry politics#sanctuary politics#I have a lot of thoughts about this facility and some of the truly distressing things occurring there but am not yet ready to say much#suffice to say this is somewhere I would strongly discourage you from supporting

Can I request a Gen-Z driver fic where she straight-up DROPKICKS Christian Horner in public after he makes some really sexist comments abt her?
Cuz if this man isn’t gonna get humbled IRL, might as well do it in a fic😂
A MAN’S WORLD
pairings: (indirect) christian horner x driver!reader / lewis hamilton x driver!reader
warnings: sexist comments. mentions of christian horner. mention of an orgasm.
author's note: this one's not really a funny one, cause I went the more realistic route with it, i fear. I still hope you like it, though. I might do a 'comedic' version in the future, because i agree as well that horner should get humbled by someone (although toto is doing quite a good job)

''What's your opinion on Christian Horner stating that more girls are getting into F1, because of the good looking drivers?'' The reporter's question echoed through the room, cameras ready to capture her reaction as the words left his mouth.
Being asked about misogynistic comments that people in the sport made had become a regular thing in the press conferences ever since the young woman entered the Formula 1 world.
On one hand, it had become tiresome. Some men just wouldn't stray away from their sexist thoughts, no matter how many successful women would climb their way through the ranks. On the other hand, Y/N felt like she owed it to every single woman and young girl out there to defend them against these conservative men. Many women before her had proven that this wasn't a men's world and for as long as she'll live she will repeat that message.
''Young girls and women have always struggled to be taken seriously in the motorsport world, and for a team principal of a highly-regarded racing team to say that the only reason they watch this sport is for the handsome drivers? I find that quite insulting. There are many reasons why women are interested in the sport. Sure, there are people who got pulled into this world, because they found some of the drivers good looking, but why should they be shamed for that? They're the ones showing up to races and the ones who buy the merch. I know he has apologized for his comments, but I think we all know how much of that he meant.''
The lack of emotion on the woman's face and in her voice was a rare sight for the drivers and reporters. Perhaps it showed how fed up she was and how tired she had become of having to answer these questions. It hadn't been the first time the Red Bull Racing team principal had expressed some serious sexist comments.
Her welcome into Formula 1 had been a polarized one. The drivers had been supportive and many people were delighted that after such a long time there was finally a woman in the beloved sport, one that had talent that matched the ones of her competitors.
But where there is support, there is hatred. In her first ever press conference, Y/N was asked to comment on an interview that Christian Horner had done where he was asked about the woman and her arrival to Formula 1. ''The first time I saw the girl I thought that she was one of grid girls,'' he laughed, ''it's definitely going to be tough for her, entering a man's sport.''
The rookie knew the question was going to be brought up and she answered with the response her team had drilled into her. ''No comment.''
It was sad how after several years things hadn't changed, the comments were still the same and the people who made them still hadn't learned their lesson, simply being patted on the back for their mistakes.
''Do you find the handsome drivers distracting during your race week?'' Another journalist asked her, his pen ready in his hand to note her response.
Y/N looked to her side, finding Mick and Lewis already frowning at the man. ''Oh, yeah! It's super distracting when I look to my side and find a helmet there. It just riles me up, you know?'' The sarcastic comment earned her laughs and chuckles from several people in the room, happy she could show everyone how ridiculous the question actually was.
Not too long after the press conference was over, to all the drivers' amusement. Lewis caught up with the young woman as they walked out of the room. ''You handled that well, I really loved what you said.'' He squeezed her shoulder, a soft smile on his face.
''Thanks, it's just so- ugh, tiring.'' Y/N sighed, rolling her eyes.
''I know, darling. I was there was something I could do, but I'm afraid that the two of us are in the same boat.'' Lewis could relate to the discrimination she experienced because of who she is.
''Like, yeah, you all are handsome individuals, but it's not that I get an orgasm every time I see any of you.'' Her comment made Lewis giggle, her bluntness never failed to make him laugh.
''And out of all people, Horner should be the last one worried about his good looks bringing interest in the sport.''

You weren’t sure why he was mad at you, but it seemed to radiate in the space between you. It was obvious in the tension in his shoulders, the way his eyes wouldn’t meet yours, the way his jaw clenched when he heard someone mention your name. It was midsummers tonight, and he’d invited you as his date - making you one of the only Pogues here. The two of you had been dating for a little under a year, and your anniversary was coming up in a few weeks. He’d hated you at first, he just knew you as John B’s sister, a Pogue through and through, and that was enough in itself for him to have a bad opinion of you. But, a year ago, you’d both got drunk at one of the parties on the beach, and he’d argued with you over which can of beer was his, and then you’d woken up the following morning next to him on the beach. Though, when you’d gone to leave, he’d asked you to stay. And that seemed to be the basis of the start of your relationship - Rafe asking you to stay. And you’d agreed.
“Hey (Y/N),” It’s Sarah that walks over to you, looking seemingly fed up of the Kook atmosphere already.
“Hey,” You try to smile back, pulling your eyes away from Rafe.
“Everything okay?” She frowns, standing beside you at the bar.
“Your brother,” You roll your eyes, resting your chin on your hands in front of you.
“When isn’t he the problem?” She laughs, “What’s he done this time?”
“I don’t think he’s done anything, I think he’s mad at me but I don’t know what I’ve done,” You shake your head, “He won’t even look at me.”
Before you can say anything else, JJ and Kie come over to the two of you, JJ dressed in his full server outfit - convincing everyone but you guys that he might actually work here. You’d been friends with JJ since he’d met John B and you spent basically all of your life with him.
“Please tell me this will be over soon,” Kie groans, shifting the material of her silk dress over her torso, “I hate this.”
You were wearing a dark green dress that Rafe had picked out of the three options you found in Sarah’s closet of unworn clothes. It hugged your figure and sat perfectly around your chest, flowing down in silk over your shoes.
“I don’t recognise you when you look like this (Y/N),” JJ points out, taking your drink and finishing the rest of it, “Very… kook.”
You roll your eyes and hit at his chest, “Grow up JJ, I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve seen you in proper clothes ever.”
He grabs your hand when you push him and pulls you in as if he’s about to twist your arm. But an all too familiar voice cuts between you.
“Hey, waiter,” Rafe shouts, “My drink’s looking close to empty, get me another.”
JJ drops your arm and looks at Rafe with a clenched jaw, “Get it yourself.”
“I don’t think you want to talk like that to me here,” Rafe lets out a laugh, the kind that comes from deep in his chest, “These are my people, not yours.”
“Rafe stop it,” You sigh, trying to step between him and JJ before this escalates further.
“So why don’t you get the fuck out of here, and leave my people, and my girlfriend, alone?” Rafe’s words are cold, calculated, separate from so much of what you knew of your boyfriend.
You push JJ back and stand between the two of them, turning your body to look directly at Rafe, but his eyeline falls above you and looks over at JJ still, “Rafe, leave it out.”
He doesn’t look at you, walking away with that tension in his shoulders that didn’t seem to leave.
“For fuck’s sake,” You mutter under your breath, “I’m sorry JJ.”
He laughs, dragging a hand through his hair, “Come on (Y/N) we all know you’re the only Pogue he doesn’t hate, that’s not going to change.”
You take a deep breath and look towards the direction that Rafe had just stormed out to, “I’ve got to go, I’ll see you guys later, okay?”
“Let us know if you need anything (Y/N),” Sarah calls out from behind you, the only one of any of them that was somewhat close to being able to understand Rafe.
~~~
You know he’s back at the house, and you’re thankful he’s thought enough to not lock the door behind him. It’s dark in the mansion and it’s eerie when you’re alone like this. You follow the steps upstairs towards his room, relieved when you catch the sight of the light on.
“Rafe?”
“Get out (Y/N), go back to the party,” His voice is cold, harsh.
“Rafe what the fuck have I done?”
“Nothing, just go back.”
He still won’t look at you.
“Nothing? You won’t talk to me, won’t touch me, won’t look at me, you haven’t since we got to that fucking party. You asked me to go and then spend the whole night ignoring me? What the fuck is this?” You’re raising your voice without thinking about it, the anger fuelling the fire in your veins.
“Just leave it (Y/N), I’m fine,” He tugs off the tie from around his neck, “I’ll talk to you later.”
“So that’s what this is now? We don’t even fight it out?” You scoff, “I’m not doing this with you Rafe. I’m not having you make me feel like shit all night, ignore me completely, embarrass me in front of my friends, and then tell me you’ll ‘talk to me later’.”
You try to stop your lips from wobbling, stop your hands from trembling, stop your burning desire to fall into his arms.
“(Y/N), don’t act like you don’t see how people look at you,” He shakes his head.
“No, fuck you, Rafe,” You shake your head, letting the tears bubble in your eyes, “You want to talk about people looking at me? Maybe people were looking at me because you were ignoring me all night!”
“You fucking love it, it’s like all eyes on you, and you don’t do anything to stop it!”
“Are you kidding me? Are you taking the fucking piss Rafe?” You’re fully yelling now, “Who do you think you are? No, who do you think I am?”
He’s quiet.
“I’m not dealing with this,” There are tears spilling over your cheeks now, staining them with the running of your mascara, “If you think I love other people looking at me so much, maybe I should go to one of them, because they certainly wouldn’t spend an entire night ignoring me.”
“(Y/N)!” He calls, watching as you turn on your heel to walk back out of the house.
As you’re just reaching the front door, his scream rips through the house, enough to make you flinch. Your heart is forcing you to go back, but you defy it, closing the front door behind you and walking back out into the dark.
~~~
You’re not sure how long you’ve been down by the beach, listening to the repetitions of waves over the sand, the hum of Midsummers still going on behind you, the silence that always remains after a fight.
In all of the arguments you’d had, it never ended with you storming out. You’d argue, and yell, and disagree, until eventually you didn’t. You would meet in the middle, admitting when you were wrong, and explaining when you knew you were right. But it worked both ways and, that was the thing, it always worked. You’d be mad at each other until he told you he loved you and you told him you’d love him tomorrow, he’d laugh and know that you meant it, that you’d always forgive him.
Today felt different. Rafe felt like he was arguing with himself whilst he was arguing with you, and you weren’t going to listen to him accuse you of things he knew you’d never do.
You pull your knees up to your chest and wrap your arms around yourself as the chill starts to pick up a little over the beach, sending a shiver through your skin.
That’s when you hear him, stumbling steps over the sand until eventually they stop beside you.
“Can I sit?”
You take a deep breath and nod, still looking out over the water to avoid falling into the gaze of his eyes. Rafe takes a seat in the space beside you, so close that his arm brushes yours. Without a second thought, he pulls the suit jacket from around him and wraps it over your shoulders, his hands lingering there for a moment. You instinctively pull the material around you, breathing in the scent of his his aftershave that clung to the lapels.
“I’m sorry, (Y/N),” He sighs, and you’re sure you can hear a tremble in his voice, “I didn’t mean what I said back there. I’m not saying I didn’t think it, but I shouldn’t have said it the way I did.”
“Why did you think that though, Rafe?” You shake your head, still not looking at him directly.
“It’s not because of you. It’s everyone else. I see the way they look at you, it’s like as soon as you’re there, they all look at you like prey,” He clenches his jaw, “And I hate it, and then I see them and I think why isn’t it them that you’re with.”
“Is that why you started on JJ?”
“I shouldn’t have done that, I know,” He nods, “I’ll apologise to him.”
You can’t help but laugh, “No you won’t.”
He laughs too, and for a moment that’s all there is.
“I don’t want to lose this (Y/N), but the more I think of that, the more I convince myself that I am going to lose it, and that terrifies me,” He drags a hand through his hair, “I get if you’re still mad at me, I’ll walk you home if you don’t want to stay.”
You take in a deep breath and exhale, moving your head to rest on his shoulder, “The problem is, Rafe, I’m the only one that can put up with you.”
As if he is worried you’ll slip away, he wraps an arm around your waist and grips you tightly, his head turning to breath in the scent of your hair, “I love you, (Y/N).”
You hum in response, nuzzling your head into his neck more, “I’ll love you in the morning.”
He kisses the top of your hair, once, twice, three times, letting his lips linger on the third, “Do you want to go back to mine?”
“No.”
You can feel the panic coarse through him, like he’s worried this time is still different than the rest, that he’d be going to bed alone thinking of everything he shouldn’t have said.
“I want to stay here,” You mumble, snuggling into the warmth he seemed to radiate, reaching your arms around him.
Rafe laughs and it rumbles through his chest against you, pulling you as close to him as he can get you to be.
~~~
The following morning, you wake up to the sun. Rafe’s jacket is still draped over you, your head resting on the rise and fall of his chest. Your legs are tangled in his, and his arms are gripping you tighter than ever, his eyes still shut.
You reach up and press a kiss to his jaw, the closest to his lips that you can reach from this angle. He looks so peaceful when he sleeps, so innocent compared to what everyone else thought they knew of Rafe - because nobody else got to see him like this, like you did.
He hums against your touch, his body waking up before his eyes have the strength to open. When he can just about muster the strength, he pokes one eye open to look at you, stretching one arm away from you and tucking it under his head, “Do you love me now?”
You laugh, kissing his jaw three more times, “I do.”
The Baby Project chapter 2
izuku midoriya x reader
Chapter one, Chapter three
Summary: When Kaibara gets increasingly worse, a hero comes in the nick of time.
tw: dead beats, assault, mention of Mineta's crimes,
You wipe the booths for the next customers. Heading back behind the counter, you ask your tables if anyone needs anything. It’s the same old thing you’ve come to love. Children are coloring in their coloring pages and are waiting for their juice boxes while their parents order grilled cheese. The kids write ‘secret’ messages to you about them getting sweets. An indecisive couple who finally settle on the most basic things then call you back to change it.
The restaurant has been up for ages and has regulars that have been the nicest people to you. So many debates on whose cooking is better. You, Yona, who’s your boss, or Ken’s, the cook. All for the sake of laughs and gentle teasing. They have the faces that tell a story you want to hear and senses of humor that vary more than snowflakes.
Plucking the fresh, hot pot of coffee from the machine, you head over to your playful regulars. A group of older men who have taken a liking to you and have acted like grandpas. They are a highly playful bunch who make you smile every day. “Here we are boys.”
“Ah, (Y/n), looking rather dashing today.” Ren puts his head on his hands. He's a man with laugh lines and salt and pepper hair. Ren has been a regular at the restaurant for years who always orders apple pie with cheddar cheese on the side with whip cream, day or night, breakfast, lunch, or dinner whenever he’s around.
“In the same old uniform that you saw me in yesterday. Seriously?”
“Can’t I compliment you?”
“Yeah, when it doesn’t come with asking if you can get the meal for free.”
He sighs. “Dammit.”
Yona calls you to her. Her dyed red hair is easy to spot. She sucks on her lips and eyes you nervously. You quickly rush to her, not liking the look on her aging face. “Yeah?”
She extends her hands to you. “Someone left this for you. It was given to Ken when he went out to take out the trash.”
You gasp and drop the pot of coffee, its glass and hot liquid spreading on the floor. Some of the liquid touches your shoes and the heat makes contact with your feet. Even then you barely register it. The noise gathers the attention of the patrons and Ken, who comes out of the kitchen. Your eyes start to mist when you see Noa without a blanket or his diaper bag. His feet are cold and he’s shivering.
________________________
You sniffle as you pat him. It’s after hours and the only ones in here are those who work late and are finishing their meals. When you saw Noa, you immediately freaked out. The customers were quick to see if you were alright, but Yona made you go somewhere else to process everything.
Throughout the entire restaurant, Noa’s cries were heard. You have been in the kitchen with Ken and even in Yona’s office to get the noise away from the customers. Nothing worked until he was warmed up.
“Just breathe, kid. Ken knows of your assignment. He was gentle like it was real.” You kiss Noa’s soft head, his chubby newborn face is now free of stress and his mouth no longer lets out a shrill wail.
With a gruff voice Ken calls out from the kitchen. “I thought it was real. Look at it.”
“I can’t believe this. I just wanted him to help. Classes are over. He isn’t doing anything. How could he be this way?” Noa coos and tries to breastfeed and starts to give out whimpers every time he fails. Yona gives you the bottle that was left with Ken. “The packaging threw me off but I figured it out.”
You go to feed Noa. He’s been terrible at taking it since the project started. Finally after some coaxing, he latches on. “He’s doing it!” He’s only been fed like, 5 or 6 times by you. You just hope Kaibara managed to get something in.
“Thank you.” You sniffle. “Other than this, why are you crying? Noa’s fine.” She tickles his feet. He jolts his leg from the sensation, not once removing the nipple from his mouth as he hungrily sucks on the milk.
“U.A. doesn’t allow students to work unless they’re in the hero course. I get a stipend but that’s less than others since I’m on a scholarship. It’s weird but true. So, I took this job to help me out. I had to ask him to help me get things so I wouldn’t borrow from my friends.”
Yona wipes your nose. She’s always been motherly to you; sometimes overwhelmingly so. “Now he knows. He’s the one who had to pay for some of his things and was mad about it,” You look up at the older woman who is listening intently. “Yona, what if he doesn’t understand my situation?”
You didn’t come from diamonds and gold. You don’t have the funds to go to this fancy school or have parental help. Plus, U.A. just now started the stipend thing and you have a cut. This project is terribly expensive, and the stipend can’t cover it at all. It barely takes care of you.
You make sure to place him directly on your chest to be as comforting as possible. The position mimics breastfeeding which is a little awkward for you but worth it since he calms down after.
“The hero course gets paid from their internships and stuff. He has more than me, so I didn’t think he’d mind. Plus, we’re partners in this.” You remove the bottle from the little baby’s mouth.
“It wasn’t crazy stuff either. Just diapers from Mei Hatsume-”
“The inventor, right?”
“Yeah, her. It was a pacifier and clothes, stuff like that. The only reason he went to the store with me is because Tetsutetsu embarrassed him or something.”
“Real Steel?” You nod. “Kaibara gave me like, twenty bucks maybe? I’m happy he did something but it didn’t really help. I took most of the bill and I still couldn’t get all the things Noa needs. Toss me a towel, please.”
You place it on your shoulder and hope for the best. Noa burps and throws up a little. This is the first time Noa has burped perfectly with you. Usually, you have the hardest time doing it. As you try to hold him better, his weight gets heavier.
Your eyebrows raise. “Already?”
“What’s happening, baby?” You quickly cradle him for them to see. “He’s growing! He was a newborn now look!”
You unbutton his onesie so he can have room to grow. His belly tells his age. “Four months?”
What did you or Kaibara do to get to four months already? Noa’s face no longer looks like an old man but an actual baby where his features begin to be more identifiable.
“Good job, pepper!” Ken comes out of the kitchen and puts out his cigarette, not wanting it to be around Noa and hinder your progress. You breathily laugh, smiling down at Noa. He looks more aware now and he still favors you in the looks department.
“He needs some more-”
“Say no more. I still have my girl’s baby clothes. A few onesies, shirts and pants, maybe? I’ll check but I know I have some. Maybe my boy’s, too.” Ken rubs your head with his meaty hand. As strange as he is, a grumpy middle aged guy who needs a haircut and to stop hitting the gym so much, he’s sweet. Rough around the edges but the sweetest man you’ve ever had the pleasure knowing.
Yona kisses Noa’s chubby feet. He wiggles his toes. “And I still have my kid’s bassinet. It’s old school but sturdy.”
You thank them both then pause.
“What happens at four months?” You look to the adults who have kids of their own. “Hell if I know. I was in jail.”
“Ken, not now.”
“He should be-” Then Noa screams. You look him over, not finding anything. You then undo his diaper to see if he's wet and see a horrible rash. “What?!”
On him was a regular pamper. Kaibara put a regular U.A. diaper on him and didn’t even do it right. “No, no! Crap! Did he give you the diaper bag?”
“Just the baby and a bottle, pepper. And the bottle was empty. I don't know why he was carrying it like that. I was locked up and I know bett-”
"Ken, please. No prison stories."
You take it off of him before it gets worse. You don’t know why he decided to do this. You told him not to, right? It wasn’t like you chose it. Noa just happened to have needed them. Just like Ema’s baby can’t be around anything that’s not cotton or the baby will get a rash. Or Benio’s daughter throwing up the school’s formula and having to go to get a special formula from them that cost more.
The babies are extremely diverse, just like real ones.
“Alright, alright.” Yona takes Noa to the kitchen and bounces him as she goes. Ken rubs your back again. “Do you want me to talk to him?”
Maybe.
“No. I have to.” You rub your forehead. “I don’t know what to do though. He hates me for some reason. It all started when I said no to the name Sen.”
You groan. “And he knows that I work. What if he uses it as black mail? I won’t be able to afford anything!”
“This is based on real life, right?” You nod. “If he does anything, get him for child support. He’s taking your income thus away from the child. Your stipend can’t cover you both and he’s an absent parent. Let the school handle him.”
You take in his words. The stipend can barely help you. No way would it be able to handle a growing baby.
“That’s too serious. This isn’t that bad, right?” Ken sighs and sits next to you. “Yeah, it’s an assignment. Just a project that’ll end sometime soon. But he isn’t helping. Rather than watch him for a couple of hours, he hands him over in a back alley to a strange man,” He gestures to himself.
“Well not strange-” He corrects.
“Eh…”
“Little one, I swear to God,” You laugh and wipe your eyes. Talking to these two have helped dry up some of your tears. “Listen, if he doesn’t start properly helping you, if he snitches and it affects Noa, then yeah. It's not permanent or anything. Just until the project ends and who knows? Maybe U.A. will let you work because without it, it'll take away from Noa."
“I don’t think it’s a thing here, though.”
“Not in this country, really. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a thing at that fancy school of yours. Force them. It's either that, or they let you work since they're being cheap towards you.”
You catch a ride from Yona as Ken closes up. You have to hurry back before curfew. Before she speeds to your school, she takes a detour to her modest home. With so little time left, you can only grab a few things with Yona promising you more tomorrow. You want to kiss her when you see all of the items she’s giving you. They’re old but completely welcomed.
Back in the car with Noa in your arms grabbing your finger, Yona breaks the silence.
“Take Ken’s advice. If the butthead holds this against you when you talk to him, you have to do something. This isn’t just affecting you. His pettiness is going to hurt Noa, too.”
“You talk like he’s real.” You whisper as you pass the streetlights that just came on. It means curfew is about to start. Luckily, you were quick to change into your U.A. uniform. Hopefully, you walking in like normal will work.
“Noa would fool even All Might. All that thing is missing is a legitimate soul, and that’s it. His heart beats, honeycomb.” She watches how you interact with him. Even if you don’t realize it, you are treating him as if he’s real.
"Yona...that's too serious. Like, that's grown up stuff. I don't think this situation calls for it."
"It's something to consider."
You scratch your cheek. "I don't know that's awfully...dramatic? He's just a grade." Yona scoffs and rolls her eyes. "It's not just about financial provision. It's about co-parenting which he isn't doing and what U.A. is trying to teach him to do," She sighs and looks at you then back at the road. "Look, if you won't do that, then go to your teachers. It's not snitching when it affects your grade like this."
"He'll tell!"
Yona's silent. She hears how desperate and sad you sound. "Even if he does, it's not like you're doing the worst thing in the world. Talk to him. Tell him if he doesn't shape up, then you'll go to the teachers. If they give you flack, give it right back."
Yona pulls up to the dorms. “Alrighty, we’re here.” Your hands start to tremble. You’re not scared of Kaibara. It is the possibilities that get you. “Breathe honey, he’s just being an ass. Besides, he may not do anything. He could be perfectly reasonable if he asks.”
“My scholarship could end, Yona.” The school doesn’t allow anyone to work except for the hero courses. The scholarship would end. Would you lose them too?
“Argue it. It’s what you do best. You may not like heroes or can fight like them, but in a war of words and law you’d beat all of them with your mouth taped shut. Defend yourself in your territory.”
You take a deep breath. “I will.”
She grabs your arm. "He gave a child to some random man in an alley. What if Noa was real?"
______________________
Yona loads the bags into your arms and places Noa in the wheeled bassinet. It is old, white laced and not the cleanest. The wheels are large and the fabric that drapes the bottom half is surprisingly soft. Although it is not disinfected right now it’ll have to do until you can get inside and clean everything. You give Yona a kiss on the cheek, thanking her for everything.
“You act like helping you is a chore. It’s okay, the sweetest honeycomb.” For some reason, that hits you in the gut.
When Yona leaves, you repeatedly kick the door so someone can open it. A kid from the other General Studies class opens the door. They must be visiting because the other class lives on the other side of the building.
You enter your room and head to the bathroom for a bath. After today, it is definitely needed. That and Yona’s gifts need to be scrubbed too. They’ve been boxed away and preserved in an attic.
You give Noa his sponge bath first. It was easy enough. He only screamed bloody murder the entire time other than that it was cake. You dry him off and set him on pillows so he could be propped up while you bathe. The curtain is open so you can keep your eye on him.
“I’m coming, sweetheart! Just one minute, please- shit!” Shampoo got directly into your eye. Noa cries louder, showing all of his gums and his little fists are clenched to his chest. You hurriedly try to rinse your eyes and grab Noa.
You suck at this. So, so, much.
You begin to get cold but you push that all aside in order to get him to be quiet. His wailing is loud in your ears. Finally, you decide to wash with him even though he’s already bathed. His head lays on your chest, resulting in the tears to be sniffles.
“You just wanted some lovin’, huh? That’s okay, bub.” It’s not at all. Who is to say he won’t understand you and start all over again?
After the much needed shower, Ema comes in to see you in your robe and drying Noa off. “Do you hav-what’s that?” She lifts his leg, the red and rough rash is visible even on his outer upper thigh.
“Before you blame me, it was Kaibara. He put one on him.” You gently massage his skin and make a mental note to go to Hatsume about it. You shrug your shoulders. “I don’t know why he put the regular ones on him.”
“Did you tell him?”
“Yeah, I did. Or I think so? I don’t know. I’m exhausted.”
She puts her hand on her hip. “If Eijirou was ever that lazy, I’d smack him.”
“I think it weirds him out. All of it, you know?” She sits on your bed next to Noa. “That’s stupid. He deals with blood and gore everyday yet he can’t handle changing a baby in the right diapers? Ridiculous and lazy.”
Feeling the heat of anger rise up, you tell her, “Plus, he kept the diaper bag. So I’ll have to use a backpack.”
“He kept it? Did he at least give you some of the things in there?”
“Nope.” You’re not going to tell her the full thing lest your secret be found. She scoffs and throws her hands in the air. It’s nice to vent. “Stupid, lazy, and petty.”
“Amen.” Speaking of prayers. “Did they handle that grape thing yet? How’s Riko anyway? I haven’t seen her.”
Ema licks her lips. “Not good. The messages that Benio read were just the tip of the iceberg apparently. He sent dick pics, way more than innuendos, borderline if not outright, threats. It’s just a mess. I only saw a few of them but I totally see why she felt threatened.”
You pause, taking in the information of what your friend went through. “You serious? A future hero?”
She hums and nods. “Yep. Word is that he’ll be expelled since everything has just accumulated to this. It’s like this is the final straw type of thing.”
“Should’ve gotten rid of him sooner.” You nibble on Noa's chubby feet, making him giggle. It's way better than him wailing.
“Definitely. Anyway, Snipe said there weren’t any more people so she could take a test or raise the baby herself. She chose to quit and take a test. Said the project was ruined for her.”
“If that is the best decision for her health, I say let it be.” How bad was it? Benio was pissed when he read them and that didn’t cover much. So, what exactly did the grape thing do? How bad were these threats? Your heart aches for Riko and what she’s going through. It isn’t fair.
“It’s a good thing you and Benio pushed it. This needed to be brought out. If he becomes a pro hero, the people he saves will be in jeopardy.” She messes with the edge of her nighttime shorts.
“Absolutely. He’s a bona fide predator. Yes, he fought in the wars. Yes, he helped save the world,” You count on your fingers. “That doesn’t give an excuse for assault or harassment.”
She fiddles with your quilt blanket. “I feel bad, peaches.”
“Why?” Noa flexes his fingers in awe. You wonder if his four month phase is already ending and he’s growing again. The growing process seems to be random. “Because I should’ve realized sooner. She was being paired with him. It was bound to happen. He’s the biggest pervert in the school. I should’ve gone with you guys and supported her.”
“You were raising your kid at a different table. No one blames you. We just happened to be there. This isn’t on us, it’s on that thing. ”
"I know. But her face when I saw her is gonna stick with me. I want to do something but what?" She licks her lips again and shakes her head. The subject changes as she focuses on his features. “He looks like you. Even his hair, see?” You chuckle and nod in agreement.
“Yeah. I think that bothers him too.”
“So fucking lame.” Amen, again. “Wait, he’s bigger…he grew! Oh, I’m so proud of you!” She kisses your head. You raise your brow at her affection. “It says he’s four months but I think he’s growing again.”
You massage his face. “Maybe Mei is speeding up the growth.”
Her eyes roam around your room and stop at your little basket of his things.
“Oh Lord. What’d you need?” She hums. “I wanted to see if you had any diapers to spare? Eijrou heard about it and wants to try.”
“Eijrou… he lets you call him by his first name?” She nods. “Yeah, we share a baby so there’s no reason to call each other formally. Besides, we get along really well.” It's not Ema's fault at all. Not the smallest bit. But it stings when it shouldn't. It is the partnership they have and you can't get it despite your efforts. You practically see the gold medal on her neck right now that shows she isn't failing. Could a start of a positive partnership be as simple as using his first name? The next time you see him, you'll give it a try.
“Ooh, I’m telling Deku.” You finish all the steps of the diaper and put a simple shirt on him, opting out pants. You get up and go through your stash of them and hand some to her.
“I think I’ve moved on, actually.” You gasp loudly, holding your hand to your chest. “The biggest Deku groupie left the club?”
“Oh, shut up. I let go. There are things he’s happier with and I realized I’m happy too. There’s no reason to chase something when going in a different direction.” She has a slight blush on her face yet if you look closer, has a forlorn look. That blushy face is a dead giveaway for something else, though.“Wait…you and-”
“Don’t say it!”
“Ema and Eijrou sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-” She flings a pillow in your face, making Noa giggle. His dimpled face makes you smile wider. He’s got to be more than four months old now. How? You don’t know what you’re doing right. So, you’re happy about it.
That and knowing she likes Kirishima, the ideal baby daddy. "I'm just fond of him, okay? It's early, so it might, I don't know, be the project?"
You nod, not bothering to hide your smile. Seeing them in the cafeteria was so sweet and domestic. It was something you could see for Ema. Something sweet, gentle, and kind. It's what you hope for her. Maybe Kirishima is the one who can provide that. They get along so well already and work together flawlessly. You become downcast as you think of all of the positives for her and Kirishima. Their teamwork.
You take a deep breath and stretch. After, you look around and slump your shoulders. “Shit, he has the bag. Can I borrow some formula? All I had was in that bag.” You look at Ema’s naturally glittery face. The glitter is used for freckles rather than the actual prints. You've asked her if it had to do with her quirk and surprisingly enough, it's just hereditary and not quirk related.
“I’ll pay you back I swear.” You put as much sincerity in your voice as you can. The dorms are locked so you can’t get to Kaibara and Noa’s going to have to feed soon.
Ema’s luminescent eyes look you over. She purses her lips then breaks into a playful smile. “I’ll accept it as a trade for the diaper.”
You don’t know how this is working, and you know in real life, there wouldn’t be this much support. Growing up you didn’t see half of this. Yet in such a short amount of time, the people around you made you feel safe and supported. You pray that one day you can pay them back. This whole thing is just an assignment. Nevertheless, this shows you the rare kindness of mankind. What a nice day this is.
_______________
A few days later, you struggle to catch Kaibara. He’s actively avoiding you. Whenever you see him, he has the diaper bag and side eyes you. It’s nerve wracking and it’s pissing you off. There are things in there that you desperately need.
You’ve managed to get some of the formula on your own. Noa is still at an awkward stage that his timer is set at four months but his development says different. You have to go to Hatsume to check on him.
In the morning, you put him in the wrap. You pack some of his things in an old, raggedy, backpack as a makeshift diaper bag. The actual baby bag is a lot better with more room, compartments and it’s absolutely sturdier.
You take your notebook and write down the things he needs and on another page, a schedule that fits you. It’s a rough draft but with his schedule, the two of you should be able to compromise and come up with a plan. You’ve written down your number and where to find your room as well. The page even includes your friends’ numbers if he can’t get a hold of you. You pray that he can do the same and that there is an agreement on the plan.
“Alright baby boy, let’s roll.” You see Ema and her baby girl, Hana. You poke her pink cheek. “Hey, little one.”
“Ugh, don’t even.” Ema turns and walks. “What? What’d I do?”
“It’s not you, it’s her. She’s been so fucking ornery. All night she was screaming. I’m surprised you didn’t hear it.”
You really didn’t. You and Noa slept soundly. “I didn’t hear anything.”
“Lucky. It’s my night to keep her and this happens.”
“She’s a newborn, right? It’s bound to happen.” Ema shakes her head. “Nope, she’s eight months old.”
“Eight months…” You suddenly feel insecure of Noa or at least your parenting. He must be in the process of growing since he’s doing more than a four month old should yet he’s still behind. Ema’s a natural at this, though. She’s doing something better. That gold medal is shining in your eyes brighter than before. You shouldn't feel this way. Ema wouldn't rub anything in your face.
“Yep! Eijrou and I make a great team. I can’t wait to tell him. And show the set of lungs his daughter has.” She looks at you evilly.
Exiting the general studies’ commons, Ema looks around for Benio but doesn’t see him. “He could already be inside fuming like usual. The ponytail girl has been ticking him off.”
“I still don’t understand. She’s a sweet person. What’s going wrong?” Ema asks.
“If you haven’t noticed, it’s the general studies’ students that are getting stuck solely raising the babies.”
“I’m not!”
You kick a pebble that was in the way on the sidewalk. “No, but you’ve got a good one. The rest of us are struggling.”
She kisses Hana’s head. “Do you want me to tell Ei? I’m sure he can talk some sense into Kaibara.”
You’d love that.
“No. If he’s anything like Tetsutetsu, it won’t get through to him. Tetsu’s already tried.”
“Seriously?” You hold the door open for her. “Yep. I went to Kaibara’s dorm and when Tetsutetsu found out he isn’t helping, he yelled at him.”
Ema puts her hand on her hips. “I can’t believe this. You should go to a teacher. This is a partnered assignment.”
“I’ll give him some more time but if this continues, I’ll go.” It has been a little over a week already.
____________________________
You’re insecure of your plan. Yona and Ken advised it. Even though it makes sense, it feels so drastic and serious to go that far. Plus, going to the teachers feels like snitching. You’re ticked that he’s not helping and scared that he’ll tell on you. It’s like he’s got all of the cards.
You wave Ema goodbye when you spot Kaibara. “Oh, Kaibara!” You wave your hand at him. He taps his foot and has a gleam in his eyes that doesn’t seem friendly. “How’s the formula? You have it in the bag.”
“It’s okay.”
“Okay?”
“Yep.” The two of you talk at the side of the hallway. “I mean, is it running low? Because I also need some for when I take care of him.”
He chuckles. “How long have you been working?” Your heart stops. “Kaibara…”
“No, because I gave you enough-”
“It was 20.” He glares at you. “Still, I gave you money when you didn’t need it. You stole.”
You can feel people watching as they go by. The tension between the two of you is getting higher. “I didn’t steal. This project involves the both of us. You act like I make a ton when I don’t. I work only for a few hours a week.”
He slowly gets closer to you. He roughly hands you the diaper bag. “You make enough. Don’t ask fo-what is he wearing?”
Noa wears a pink shirt with purple designs on it paired with grey leggings. He has thick white socks on his feet. “Clothes?”
The shirt is from Yona and the grey leggings from Ken. The outfit looks very cute on him. Simple and easy.
“Get that off of him.” His tone is steel and sharp. It makes you tense up for a second.
You raise a brow, genuinely confused. “What?”
“This is embarrassing. With the money you make you can’t put him in some good clothes?” You look down at Noa whose clothes are fine. “What’re you talking about?”
“You did this on purpose.” He curses at you under his breath. A General Studies student walks past then stops and stares. They make eye contact with you. Their purple eyes wondering, asking, if you need help. The student takes off down the hallway.
You then remember that Ema uses Kirishima's first name to build a better bond. “It’s only clothes, Sen.”
He curses again and roughly handles Noa, trying to take his shirt off. Noa begins to cry. You tell him to stop and get Noa away from him. Kaibara grabs your wrist painfully, making you yelp. You try to tug it free and protect Noa from having his clothes removed at the same time.
Just then, a scarred hand intervenes and grabs Kaibara’s wrist. Your partner looks shocked and then up at the owner. He’s, uh, a lot bigger than you thought he’d be. And his voice definitely sounds different in person.
The man himself, Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku. His hands are large and his fingers slightly crooked. The scars and calluses tell stories of war and determination. His eyes are bright, like they're happy but his actions say different.
Izuku says hello to his old friend while holding Kaibara's wrist tightly. You take this pause to grab Noa properly and readjust his clothing. This is all so fucking stupid. It’s like getting your group to help you do an assignment but they’re all fucking around. Fuck this, you’re putting your name on the paper and explaining to the teachers what happened.
“I’m sick of being nice to your dumb ass.” You tell Kaibara, who for the first time doesn’t look smug or annoyed. He looks…scared? In a gentle yet firm voice, Izuku Midoriya says, “Come on, let’s go.”
His hand is placed on your waist to guide you away from Kaibara. He takes you away from his year hallway and towards the stairs.
“U-uh, I hope that was alright!” He rubs his hands together. “Yeah, it’s alright.”
You expect him to walk away from you now that you’ve reached the stairs to go down to yours. Instead, he stays with you. “Thanks, by the way. I didn’t think he’d act like that.”
“It’s not a problem. He was out of line.” He smiles down at you and Noa. “Is that the first time he’s done that?”
His hero voice is on. “You mean being rough? Yeah. Blowing me and this whole project off? No.” You shrug and try to act unbothered. But your wrist hurts and Noa is squirming. “I accept it now and what I have to do.”
“What do you mean?” The two of you begin to walk down. “I’m going to the teachers about it. The assignment’s just started and this is happening.” You are down the stairs and into your hallway. Only a few students are left, scrambling to find their class and handle their babies at the same time.
Izuku’s eyes take everything in. You hope that he’s piecing everything together. That your class are the ones doing anything.
“I’ll go with you.” You stop. “You don’t have to, Izuku.” He was about to speak until you said his name. He gets all red and covers his face and sputters. “Was it okay to call you by your first name?”
“Y-yes!” And just like that, this guy resorted to being a red sweaty thing that's lightly tugging on his thick curls. Well, it is a little warm in the building. The bell rings for everyone to be in class. You curse under your breath when Noa begins to fuss. “Hold this.” You shove the bag into Izuku's hands. “What do you need? I can help!”
“He feels dry and he ate, give me a bo-bo.” Izuku eagerly looks into the bag. He stops. “A what?” Ah, right. “A pacifier.”
“Oh, okay. That's cute, by the way."
"I'll tell Ema about the compliment," He stares into your eyes. You gesture to the bag. "Right! What compartment is it in?”
“The front flap,” He digs into the yellow one. “No, the blue. That’s where I put it.” He searches for it and frowns. “Are you sure? There’s nothing here or the yellow one.”
“Try the main one, the big zipper.” Dread is filling deep in your belly. In those flaps were his pacifier, rattle, things to that nature. Now that you look at it, it’s a little flat.
“I can’t find it.” Noa cries louder by the second. “Keep looking!” Izuku’s hand is inside the bag. You hear rustling of some things. “It’s not in here-”
“Are you kidding?! Keep looking!” You rock Noa, who is increasingly getting louder. You don’t mean to yell at Izuku. He didn’t do anything wrong. He has been more helpful and less violent than Kaibara has been.
He puts his hand on your shoulder. “Breathe, just breathe,” You follow his calm directions. “Here, give him to me.” You trade the baby for the bag. He coos at the assignment and rocks him. The little brat starts to calm down. Izuku talks softly to Noa, asking how his day has been, and that he has to be good for mommy, all of the sweet things you'd expect.
“Where is it? Where-” It really isn’t here. You suck in your lips. All that’s in there are some clothes, diapers, and formula in a Ziploc sandwich bag for some reason. And there isn’t even enough for one bottle.
Snipe slides the door open. “I thought I heard you-Oh, Midoriya! Long time no see.” Izuku goes on about Snipe’s latest take down. According to him, it was excellent. “Well, I’m glad to see you back. I thought you had a while to go?”
“I finished early. Go beyond, plus ultra?” He nervously chuckles. Snipe stares at him for a second. “Plus ultra, Midoriya.”
He then turns to you. “What is Midoriya doing with Noa?” What a dramatic tone difference.
“Snipe, I’d like to talk to you and Dracula after class.” Snipe scoffs. “Do you mean Vlad King?”
“King Vladimir? Isn't that Dracula?”
Snipe rubs his face under his mask. “Whatever.”
_____________________________
After class, you meet up with the two teachers, Snipe and Dracula who is now known as Vlad King. As if they aren’t the same name. You asked Midoriya if he could watch Noa for a minute which he gladly accepted, then reminded you to call if you needed him. Unlike Kaibara, he immediately gave you his number. Red faced and all. He looked like he was having a heart attack while doing it.
“Snipe, Dracula-”
“ Vlad King.” The man in red grumbles. “Whatever. I know this is based on real life but Kaibara did something that bothers me.”
Snipe sighs and sits on the edge of his desk. “This is up for the two of you to figure out.”
“He got physical with me and Noa. If you don’t believe me, Midoriya is right outside. He saw everything.” Both of the teachers freeze. Dracula clenches his fists. “What happened?”
“Has he done this before?” Snipe sits up, no longer slouching. “This is the first time he’s done this. But not the first time he’s neglected the assignment. At every damn turn he’s blowing me off and complaining. He’s not helping me at all.”
“Start from the top and down to when he was aggressive.” Dracula’s eyes become serious. Not angry at you, though. Thank God.
You tell them everything, leaving out your job. Ken and Yona are brought up, only called friends, and how they’ve helped you. No one is excluded from their rightful praise. Your friends here, the sales lady, even Midoriya who helped you and is doing so right now by handling Noa.
Vlad cracks his knuckle. “I’ll deal with him.”
“Vlad-”
“No. This is unacceptable. I know it’s up to them to figure out but what happened can’t be ignored or tolerated.” His leg is bouncing and fists are clenched impossibly hard. His fangs seem sharper than normal and eyes are blazing. “As a hero, we cannot allow that behavior to continue. A hero from my class? No. Absolutely not!”
“I know-”
“No! He fails-”
“Kan, please! I’m just as upset as you are but we are forgetting to check the facts.” Snipe gestures towards you to calm you down, already noticing how your nostrils flared. “What I’m saying is that we must investigate the situation. If we go in guns blazing, it can cause more harm than good.”
You understand that, but it doesn’t seem like enough.
“I want him to help me and to apologize. I’ve been doing everything while he just jacks around.”
“I understand, (Y/n). This will be handled.” Vlad stands up and Snipe grabs his wrist. “Let’s talk to Midoriya. He’s the only witness?”
“No, some other guy ran to get Midoriya. He’s got purple eyes and since he was taking care of a robo-baby, I can guess that he’s from general studies because I know heroes aren’t doing anything.”
Snipe scolds you. “I’m serious, Snipe. I’ve only seen two heroes with babies and they were Kirishima and Tetsutestu. That’s it.”
Vlad snatches his wrist back and opens the door, startling Izuku who was cooing at Noa and kissing his plump cheek. “After we talk to Kaibara, you will be called, understand?”
Unlike how he was just seconds before, Izuku gets serious and firmly nods. His round green eyes don’t have the cheeriness they had just moments before.
“Do you want me to bring him here?”
“No, I’ll be the one to do it.” Vlad disappears as he goes down the hallway, no doubt looking for his student. Snipe calls your name, gaining your attention. "You need to be here for this. I want you to tell your side of the story for the record then we'll bring Midoriya in." "Mr. Snipe, what if Kaibara gets mad at me?" He jerks and straightens up. "We'll handle him. You are safe, don't worry."
You put your hands on your hips. "This happened right under your noses. Who knows how long he's been like thi-"
"(Y/n), it will be handled. We need to investigate and write a report but trust me," He leans in. "You are safe and it will be handled."
"What about Noa? Are you gonna make sure he helps with Noa?"
Snipe gives a breathy chuckle and starts to slouch a little. He takes his shawl off and places it on his desk. Finally, he is back to being your teacher and not his hero persona. It's amazing how fast these people can switch depending on the atmosphere. "We'll talk to him. Honestly, (Y/n), I wish you would've told me sooner that he wasn't helping."
You let out a loud, "Ha!"
"I'm serious." Shaking your head you humorlessly chuckle. "No, no. You are the same guy who kicked me out of class because of a project that you are making us do started crying. No way you would have my back if it weren't for Dracula looking at you."
He flinches like he's been struck. The door opens again and reveals Dracula, some teachers, and Nezu. Dracula speaks first. "Kaibara will be here shortly. He is cleaning up from his internship."
Nezu pops out of Aizawa's scarf and waves at you. "Please sit down and relax, (L/n). Just tell us what happened."
The two hero course homeroom teachers, Snipe, the principal and a few others, all sit down. You look around and then at your surroundings. "Um, shouldn't we be doing this in your office, Mr. Nezu? And not my homeroom?"
"This is quicker!"
You sigh and then begin. "Today, Kaibara roughly grabbed me and Noa."
"The assignment, correct? Noa Kaibara?"
"Yes. Anyway, I went up to him and asked for the diaper bag-" The door opens again, allowing Kaibara to come in. He loses his smile when he sees you. Again, a hero changes his demeanor at a drop of a hat. As quickly as he looked at you in disdain, he erased that in less than a second with a nonchalant smile to his superiors. His beady eyes find yours and make you squirm. You aren't physically afraid of him. It's what he has on you that makes you flinch.
He stands side by side with you at a distance. Kaibara turns to you and asks, "Where's the baby?"
Pfft, like he cares. "Noa's with Izuku." You side eye him. Nezu clears his throat and says, "Kaibara, (L/n) says you hurt her and almost jeopardized your project. Is this true?"
Kaibara sighs and rubs the back of his neck. He shrugs his shoulders. "Unfortunately, I do know what she's talking about but she is blowing it out of proportion." Aizawa's gruff voice interrupts him before he can continue. "But you did grab her?"
"Yes, yes I did."
You spot Dracula's vein swelling. "And why-"
You raise your hand. "Before you all continue to talk to him, I want to tell it," You shift your weight on your feet. "I put clothes on Noa that Kaibara didn't like so he roughly handled Noa. Noa's wellbeing is our," You shoot Kaibara a glare he couldn't miss. "Grade, so I tried to protect him, but Kaibara turned his aggression on me. He grabbed my wrist-which still hurts by the way-and-" You pause. Should you do this? Is it time?
You then remember how he hurt you and Noa. Noa's cries and him reaching out to you, your fear not just for Noa, but for yourself. Your head is held high now as you let everyone know what Kaibara has done or not done.
"Noa is wearing hand-me-downs that some friends of mine gave me because I can't afford newer clothes. There isn't anything wrong with what he's wearing. A pink shirt and grey leggings. That's it. That's what he had a problem with. That his son is wearing pink."
"Kaibara!" The student begins to get flushed and shrink back at the scolding of the pro heroes in front of him. "Not only that, but he has not helped at all. When this project first started, we went to a baby store next to that old vendor guy, and Kaibara gave me twenty bucks then split because he didn't want to help soothe Noa. He ran because his son started crying."
Cementoss nods. "Well, nerves are normal for parents."
You refrain from a snarky remark. "I know this. But that was the first and only time he's held Noa, and he still didn't help." You should tell them that he abandoned Noa with Ken. However, that'd give him the opening he needs. And by the look on his face that's slowly turning red not from embarrassment, but from anger, he'd snitch out of spite.
You should tell them that he did care for him for a few hours. You can't, though. He's got one over you.
"This morning, he scared and hurt me and Noa. Your star witness out there has held him longer than Kaibara has. My partner as well as the rest of the hero course’s behavior has sunk to this. And it’s happening right under your nose. Let that sink in."
The room is silent, giving you another chance to talk. “Your favorite students aren’t helping. Make them.”
Nezu twiddles his thumbs and looks at you from Aizawa's scarf or rope thing. "We'll handle this. You're dismissed."
__________________________________
You exit the room, not even looking at Kaibara. His eyes were bulging out of their sockets and he was steaming. When you close the door, the air finally returns to you.
Izuku still holds Noa in the hallway. He rocks him and adorably so. He notices you standing there with a smile on your face.
“Are you okay?” His voice is gentle and warm. Filled with worry and compassion. It reminds you of the sweetness of Yona and Ken.
“I’m fine. Alright, it’s your turn.” You point your thumb towards the door. Right before you can get Noa from his arms, he still holds him as he rubs your shoulder and enters the room. “You…you took my baby.”
To yourself, you whisper, “He took my baby.”
You look around the hallway to see if it's clear. When you see that it is, you finally cover your eyes and let a small tear fall. Is it because of Noa and the weight? What Kaibara did and the power he has? Maybe it's because you had to be saved by Deku, a hero. Or is it because you failed at doing something so basic: getting along with someone. Noa's not real, he isn't. But it hurts that he is rejected. Why?! He's a doll. One that breathes, has a heartbeat, and your face. Are these tears from exhaustion?
Why are you crying silently in the hallway? This is just a grade. That has to be it. You're afraid you'll fail and lose your scholarship, and all of your hard work will go down the drain. You're afraid of being found out, that's all. Not because you can't get help from the person who is supposed to help you. Not because you feel like you are behind and everyone else is passing you. Not that your wrist still hurts. That reminds you, you have to go to Recovery Girl for it. And since she's not too far from Hatsume, you'll swing by and pick up some things.
Kaibara is in there. Would he get it or has this damaged everything? You take a deep breath. When Izuku comes out, you'll grab Noa and go to where you need to be. You hear the door open and a curious voice calls to you. You can hear Noa's senseless babbling behind you, too. What to say? What do you say about why you look like you’ve been crying?
You will do what you know. You turn around and see Izuku hold a happy Noa. "U-uh, are you crying? What's wrong? Is it your wrist?" Izuku comes towards you. You roll your eyes and say, "No, I have allergies."
Izuku looks behind you and doesn't see a window open.
househusband au headcanons
Shinji ver.
| 1 | 2 | ?
rating: safe for work
reader prons: they/them
Listen, if Shinji could have it his way, he’d still be playing the sax every night at the lounge he used to work at. Sure the pay was crap, and he wasn’t all that great of a musician, but he genuinely enjoyed his night job (because the man clearly needed a day job to get by), but things change, people fall in love, people have kids for Christ’s sake whether it’s planned or not. That’s just life for you, so welcome to Shinji Hirako’s, or should we say the new neighborhood stay-at-home dad. This happened because 1, he got married! Yeah, someone went up to that mysteriously cheap and swanky lounge one night, took a seat, had a drink or two, and said, ‘Damn, I want to marry that’. Who in their right mind would wanna do that? Aside from me and the Shinji fuckers. Not many, but hey, love is blind! So… yeah. This is his life now. Stinky diapers, a fussy firstborn, and a life full of mayhem to accommodate. Shinji absolutely doesn’t wish he was at work! Someone save him.
What he doesn’t realize is that he will come to love this more than any job in the world and that being there with his kid every step of the way is a privilege he was glad to experience for both himself and his spouse since they work very hard to keep the family fed, clothed, and housed despite working dreadful hours. Because of this, Shinji really tries to give it his all with this househusband gig, to not stress them out on their two measly days off of work on the weekends. The Hirako family is what I call the living example of surviving on each paycheck but despite that stress, they never take it out on their child nor deny them anything they may want or need. Shinji and his spouse try hard to be great parents and are successful, they just don’t know it yet. Just like any dad, though, they start at the very beginning, which is the entrance of their child into the world! Shinji was given a sweet baby girl and managed to take care of her fairly well when his spouse was on paid family leave as provided by their work. They could have taken extra time but the pay was too dangerous to live on for long without overtime hours and the family needed more to accommodate their newer, safer housing so off to work it was, and there began Shinji’s adventures with his newborn daughter.
To be honest, the new dad didn’t expect to do much since he hadn’t done so before but that reality came to a screeching halt when Shinji realized that 1. He was behind on laundry, and 2. His newborn had explosive- and I mean explosive- diarrhea. The kind that gets from the bum to the nape of her neck kind of explosive and she’s screaming her head off from the discomfort of her excrements. All is not well in the Hirako household the first week without parent 2 around to help and he’s quick to break down which is sad, not going to lie. Shinji is so overwhelmed by the lonely cries of his daughter, housework, managing expenses, and paying bills, that he kind of just breaks down that week. He feels like a terrible father, and an even worse husband once he realizes that he can’t even do what his mother and her mother had done and it was as if his daughter could understand his pain, that she finally let up on the crying upon behind held in his arms after cleaning her up. Shinji quite literally let out tears of relief at her silence and realized that all she wanted was to be held and loved by him. Pure Dad moments!
He took a lot of tips from various forums and mommy blogs, investing in regular skin-to-skin contact (despite the awkward clawing at his nips) as well as simply keeping his baby in a carrier wrap and her fussiness improves greatly! So much that Shinji can spend more time doing things he needs to, but will lie her down in the very expensive but effective baby swing as it mimics his movements well enough to keep her asleep for at least an hour while he completes more physically demanding tasks such as scrubbing the stove, mopping, etc. Now what you’re probably thinking is, Mia where’s the daily route? Or maybe, What about Dad friend!Kensei!? Well don’t worry, I’ll get to it, starting with Kensei. He and his spouse visited the Hirako’s with food in hand and young twins clad in matching outfits once the family of 3 had moved into the neighborhood as a welcome gesture. Least to say, the Hirako’s weren’t used to that as the most they’ve gotten before is a half-drunk man with pissed pants sleeping at their door. Ya gotta love the seedier parts of cities, amirite?
Those who came to visit after Shinji’s spouse returned to work were visibly surprised by his presence. He knew it wasn’t that common for men to practice this way of life but damn, he didn’t think it was that surprising when he informed a mother that his spouse was at work upon their rather concerned inquiry. The gifts of food for the new family eventually stopped as his daughter reached 1 month old, leaving him alone as not many wanted to schedule playdates or even a general hangout simply because he was a father. Kensei was the only person to extend an invite to his place as he swore the neighborhood mothers were like vultures and that he didn’t want Shinji’s daughter to be exposed to too many pathogens from the outside world all at once. Simply the teachings of a professional househusband that Shinji gladly accepted and modified to fit his parenting style much better.
Alright, so Shinji’s got one Dad™ Friend, the oh-so-trusty Kensei Muguruma at his side, but it isn’t often since the latter works at home. So what is a usual day at the Hirako Household? It starts a bit like this: A groggy Shinji rolling off the bed like he hadn’t slept all night… which is partially true. The baby has her days and nights crossed for a long while so Papa Hirako is up keeping her company for his spouse to get enough sleep for work. His first duty of the day is to get breakfast started and make sure his spouse's work clothes are set for the day. They’re very insistent that they can iron the clothes by themselves but Shinji does it anyway then moves on to perfecting a breakfast they’ve been eating almost every morning since the birth of the baby. Shinji tends to worry his spouse will get sick of it but they always comment on how much better he’s been getting, and how it tastes different every day (in a good way, of course). Kensei’s cooking tips not only benefitted Shinji, but his spouse too as the married couple would often cook meals together on the weekends to bond with each other.
Although the morning is the most tense time of the day, Shinji usually gets through unscathed with the baby slung to his chest, one hand feeding her a warmed bottle and the other feeding himself. He’d be lying if he said food never landed on the kid's head. Both he and his spouse find it funny, as it was the little things in life that made a difference in their day. With their little one back to sleep in the sling secured across Shinji’s chest, he kisses his partner farewell, waving them off before going back into the house to catch some extra sleep. He’s usually more energized after the nap and gets started on whatever needs to be done which is breakfast dishes, laundry, and any other daily cleaning. His little girl is just bordering 2 months at this time, so Shinji makes a good effort to stimulate her, jingling noisy toys, and talking about any and everything while being sure to listen for any cues that she’s had enough. She’s quite the talker just like her father, entertaining him as she attempts to form words that sound like pure gibberish. Shinji records countless videos daily just to capture her development, sending a few to his spouse to watch at work during their break since he isn’t much for showcasing his kid over social media.
At this age, Shinji’s special gal is developing well and for the most part, still on track with meeting her milestones. Everything is seemingly happy-go-lucky until he receives a call from the pediatrics office that she will need to be vaccinated. The appointment for said vaccination was for today, and since then Shinji believed he would face this with his spouse but sadly that wouldn’t be the case. The first-time father was more nervous than his baby but Kensei reassured him that everything would be fine, and to be a little more gentle as the injection site would be a little on the sensitive side. Shinji at least tried his best to stay calm but both he and his baby were left crying. Shinji only cried a bit when the doctor left the room, of course, the immense feeling of guilt was just too much for him. Regardless of their conjoined Hirako Meltdown, Shinji made everything better by getting her all swaddled up and offering a bottle of milk during the ride back home.
Should he need to go shopping, Shinji will typically do so with Kensei because they’re designated Dad Friends, and therefore must move together. Shinji gets into couponing to save a few bucks and makes an effort to clip any and everything he might find useful. He even gives Kensei coupons for the really expensive organic stuff he always buys and makes sure to give it to him on a near-weekly basis. When shopping, the father usually has the luxury of browsing through most aisles, shuffling among his many organized coupons to grab the right box of crackers. If Kensei tags along, he finds it a little more difficult as the mothers in the neighborhood tend to hover over his children when in reality they’re trying to score him. Some like to fawn over his little girl due to her chubby cheeks but nothing more ever comes after. He doesn’t mind shopping with Kensei, it simply feels as though someone is always breathing down his back and that's a very weird situation to be in, much less with his baby. The little one is almost always intrigued by the older babies she can see, giving a gummy smile. Kensei 100% thinks it's cute but won’t admit it. He cannot give those moms another thing to obsess over.
Once he gets home, Shinji tries to at least get the refrigerator items put away before settling on one of Kensei’s so-called “not complex” dinner recipes. He wouldn’t dare try grilled fish again as he once neglected to check on the food, leaving the dinner harder than concrete. They had to resort to food delivery although it hurt the couple's pocket but they made do. Shinji attempts the basic hamburger steak and surprisingly does well as this time he does not leave the kitchen for a single second, watching the meat sear in the pan and checking each steak with a meat thermometer for extra security. His spouse is usually not home until all of the last-minute cleaning for the day has been done so Shinji does well to keep the dinner he cooked nice and warm until their expected arrival. His spouse is reasonably tired by then but at least they get to eat with their husband, the baby either entertained or asleep not far. They are so grateful for Shinji and all that he does as they realize taking care of an infant solo is notoriously difficult. They thank him for the dinner, offering to co-wash the dishes before getting ready to wind down for the night. That is if their little one lets Shinji do so for long.
As Shinji’s little one gets older with time he tries to get into various hobbies that clearly don’t lean into his favor. Those include but are not limited to finger painting, as his little she-devil had a phase of painting on the floors and walls (thank goodness he got the washable kind), photography (she kept throwing the disposable camera at things she 100% should not have been throwing it at), singing (she grew a knack for screaming at the top of her lungs), and gardening. Shinji could never forget his toddler dousing the newborn plants with soap to get them clean. They ended up kicking the bucket that very week and never recovered. Needless to say, this papa has been through some shit the older his daughter has gotten. All those memories ended up in a scrapbook though, videos grew into compilations separated by year, and soon he’d be marking a 5th compilation.
She’d grown well into her striking blonde hair although it had the shape of her other parents, and her teeth were as showy as his but Shinji convinced her they were cool so she wouldn’t have to deal with self-esteem issues, and oh boy, did she have a lot to say. Shinji didn’t even have to teach her to talk either, she just up and started, then never stopped. Even though she may have her quirks, the mini Hirako acts similar to her father. She’s been aiming to nail every single one of his expressions and does so very well to the point no one questions whether or not he is her father. Despite that, she gets on well with Kensei’s twins, referring to them as her cousins and to Kensei as her uncle. Shinji’s daughter is happy that her cousins stayed back from kindergarten so she wouldn’t be lonely, and in turn, they helped their Uncle Shinji get his girl into a few hobbies before she entered school.
It was certain that Shinji did not want to let his little girl go to school, but his spouse enforced it, saying it could give him a break and that she’d have to go the following year anyway. It was tough on him as it felt like it was yesterday when she was just a swaddled newborn on the date of her arrival, so beautiful and sweet, craving nothing but the love and attention of her parents. She was still an angel that day, kissing her father on his cheek as she ran off to the school with the other kids. He promised himself he wouldn’t cry and did so to the best of his abilities as he got home. Shinji couldn’t help but slump onto the couch, staring at the framed picture of their very first family portrait. The one on his phone from this morning would soon make its way there too, having been taken outside their home, a simple photo of the family of 3 to commemorate her first day of school. Shinji was bored with nothing to do afterward, not even thinking about the possibility of having another child. It was too expensive, not to mention they wouldn’t have the space should it be a boy this time around. He’s left to sulk until noisy moving vehicles drive on by for a few days and he ends up outside checking out the new dad who gives both him and Kensei a bad vibe.
Something I'm still struggling to grasp about the Project at Eden's Gate is their initiation and training process. I guess it's because of how isolated the regions are from each other story-wise.
To keep it short, I can't understand how does "cleanse, confess, atone" mesh with "train, hunt, kill, sacrifice", what is mandatory and what isn't, how does "walk the Path" fit into all of it and how in the world can anybody survive the Leap of Faith without a haystack.
It’s hard because the game doesn’t clearly explain everything and even contradicts itself at times. The story went through several changes too, and it seems that, in early versions of the script, all members of the Project, including those who chose to follow the Father, were abused when, in the game, I believe violence and coercion are only used against those who were captured and have to be converted. Also, the final, current story suggests this only started happening when the Reaping began, but there are still characters who talk about the cult abducting and even killing (even though their goal is to save people, but anyway) Hope County residents long before that, so the lore is confusing…
Story-wise, the three regions are indeed supposed to be way more isolated from one another than they are on the in-game map. People who live in the Holland Valley admit they weren’t aware of what was going on in the Whitetail Mountains, for example. I don’t think the Heralds necessarily like or approve of each others’ methods, but NPCs explain John sends whoever he doesn’t keep to his siblings, that Faith deals with those who said “no” to him, or that Jacob “recruits” soldiers in the Henbane River, so while they each have their own territory and personal (trauma-inspired) ideology, they still work together.
My understanding is that anyone who joins Eden’s Gate must meet John first so they can be purified and rid of their sin. In his letter to Nick, he mentions there are many mothers and children in John’s Gate, so I think families composed of “regular” cultists who joined the cult willingly (or were born into it) and can’t fight just go live there when the Reaping begins to wait for the Collapse. I guess these people don’t do much except be part of the Family and among the 3,000 souls the Voice asked Joseph to save.
Then, I’d say those who want or have the potential to become soldiers can (try to) join Jacob’s army or become Chosen. It seems every candidate has to go through the trials and make a sacrifice. If they do all of that and manage not to die, they’ve proven their strength and devotion and are worthy of being part of the Project’s army; Jacob is confident they will be able to survive in extreme conditions and effectively protect the Family. According to a note, he has a youth training program as well, but there’s only one mention of that so we don’t know much about it or if it’s still a thing.
I think Faith makes Angels of people her brothers can’t convert and who resist them, or members of the Project who are too scared or doubtful and need to be… pacified. If you’re exposed to too much Bliss, because it apparently passes the blood-brain barrier and can never be purged out, it just keeps accumulating and, the more Bliss you come into contact with, the closer you get to ending up “zombified” because of it. Now, that’s if it happens accidentally, but it appears Angels are forcibly made too. A deleted note suggests the first ones were volunteers, but I don’t know if that’s still true. In any case, they’re literally brainwashed and very docile (on top of being able to “resuscitate” because Bliss, especially the liquid form, apparently has the power to do that), so the cult makes them fight and carry out arduous tasks. They’re reportedly fed dog food too, but as weird as it sounds, it seems Faith genuinely “loves” them because of how pure she believes they are.
I don’t know if the Pilgrimage is mandatory for people who join the Project willingly, but like Jacob’s trials, it’s definitely used to attempt to convert those who resist. They’re forced to walk it (sometimes on their knees, say civilians) and either accept the Father’s message, become Angels, or die, whether on the path or after jumping off the statue of Joseph at the end of it. As you pointed out, the leap of faith is not always lethal, but how do people survive it? Well, like Bliss, I suppose it’s just “magic” and only those who are considered worthy and pure will live. It’s also possible they don’t actually jump and just believe they do because it all happens in the Bliss; I’m really not sure because, again, that drug is basically magical and can “explain” a lot of things that seemingly don’t make sense in Far Cry 5.
So yeah, that’s just my evidence-based headcanon of how Eden’s Gate works, but I agree that it’s not always clear, logical, or consistent in the game…
#feel free to add to this or clarify some points if you have other theories#far cry 5#eden’s gate#john seed#jacob seed#faith seed#joseph seed
bow to me
pairing: geto suguru x non-sorcerer!reader warnings: gore and violence, use of the word "monkey" lol summary: you're your mother's deadliest sin word count: 5.1k author's note: i had fun with this one, hehe. hope you guys like it <3
part 1 | read on AO3
You weren’t a cursed spirit.
Or maybe you were, you weren’t necessarily well-versed in the world of curses and sorcerers. You just knew them by name.
You weren’t human.
Well, maybe you were, just a different kind. Cursed.
Yeah.
Maybe you were cursed.
There was an eerie quiet now. Your mind had never been so quiet. Not in a long time.
It was a rarity. This silence.
You decided that this was what peace felt like and that you weren’t going to let it go. You weren’t going to deny yourself any longer.
In the end, it was pathetically funny. Pretending to be normal whenever you never were. From birth, you had always been like this. So, you leaned back in the chair, your arm covering your face, and laughed.
And laughed. And laughed. And laughed.
It was hilarious.
The bodies lying at your feet were quiet as stone. But you figured they’d laugh too if they were alive.
Once your laughter went to giggles, you peeked over your arm and stared up at the ceiling fan.
“You’re your mother’s deadliest sin.” You sang to yourself. At least that’s what your father always said.
“She’s saved!”
Applause.
Applause.
Applause.
You dropped your face into your hands and shivered. Bile coated your throat, tightened with such conviction. But none of it was from the stench of the bodies around you. It wasn’t the taste of flesh on your tongue.
Tears spilled out of your eyes uncontrolled.
You laughed. You cried. You couldn’t really tell anymore.
“You won’t have to suffer anymore.”
Applause.
Applause.
Applause.
What the hell were they clapping for?
You opened your eyes, staring straight at one of the bodies lying down in front of you. Lifeless eyes that were once pleading for mercy, staring back at you. And for an instant, that little voice—the you a year ago, still trying to be human, still trying to live life as a regular sixteen-year-old—whimpered.
What am I doing?
You were cursed.
No, no, no, I promised I would. I promised!
Your father saw you as a blessing.
What am I doing? This isn’t me. This isn’t—
And your mother died for it.
“Now you can rest, my sweet girl.”
Make it stop. Make it stop. Make it stop.
Your breathing was shaky. But your body gave in multiple times. You sat up straighter, taking in all the bodies in the small living room.
Perhaps, you went a little far this time.
Then again, you’ve been hungry for a long time now.
“Do you have any more rice balls?”
You remembered their little faces so vividly. The only memory you allowed to snake its way through your mind while pushing everything else back into the tight box. So detailed. Precious. Undeserving of this world.
You failed them. You should’ve fought harder and killed the townspeople yourself.
Unfortunately, someone had beaten you to it.
2007
It’s been a pretty hellish day.
Granted, it might’ve been partially your fault.
You had gone on another binge but made sure to keep the bodies to a minimum of five this time around. But you supposed that was still too much because it drew some unwanted attention.
Usually, you kept to yourself at an abandoned hospital south of Tokyo. That was where you fed and left the bodies to rot. No one questioned it since many locals tended to stay away from the hospital. Something about it being haunted.
The haunted part was also, technically your fault but that’s beside the point.
Earlier in the day, it was pretty regular. You had a new job working at a café which gave you a lot of access to coffee in case you got a little squirmy around people, especially flesh. And the job had been pretty steady, you’ve been in the city for about half a year now. And it’s been pretty simple.
You’ve somewhat learned to control your hunger, choosing certain days to feed. Choosing the type of people to feed from, such as perverted men or just men in general whenever you felt extra pissed that day. Rarely did you go after women unless you were really, really hungry.
Children were off limits.
Sorcerers were a rarity. And all the more fun.
So what you expected as your usual day suddenly turned interesting when an older man you were serving started asking you strange questions.
“I’m sorry, but that’s not on the menu, sir.” Was your casual answer with the usual customer service smile.
The man grinned, “Wow, you almost seem convincing. I’m impressed.” He leaned his elbows on the table with a smug smirk, “Curses have gotten so advanced in this day in age, especially compared to when I first started.”
You kept your face neutral, “Sir, are you going to order or not?”
You weren’t human.
You knew this.
“Tell me,” The man continued, pinning you in place with an intense gaze. “How were you able to hide from us for so long?”
Now you were irritated. Strange how quickly that happened these days.
Instead of taking his obvious bait, you offered a sweet smile, “I’ll go get you another waitress. And when you’re ready to order she’ll help you.” You tucked your notepad into the pocket of your apron. “I have other tables to attend to. Excuse me.”
After a quick bow, you left his table. He didn’t stop you either with another strange question or observation.
This was going to be a long day. But you couldn’t help the secret grin tugging at your lips as you entered the kitchen.
“Heh.”
“And where is the curse now?”
The human man, Geto never bothered to learn his name, swallowed nervously, “It was at the hospital for awhile and then, well, we lost it for a second—but we managed to track it down to a local café. Since then, the curse hasn’t left.”
Geto hummed and stood from the altar, “Any sorcerers?”
“One found it. But updates have told me neither of them have left the café yet.”
The curse was elusive, Geto figured. A month ago was the first time he received word about it. There were many bodies left in its wake, so it sounded like they were quite the powerful curse. A special grade, perhaps.
It’s just that no one has managed to catch a glance of it. But apparently, it was attached to a human girl.
Simple enough.
“Bring Larue. We’re taking a small trip.” Geto smiled passively at the man. “You’re of no use to me anymore.”
He should’ve sent Larue in the first place instead of this monkey. A mistake he would not make again. While yes, the human could see curses, he was still of little use to Geto-sama. Plus, he was slightly irritated that he nearly lost the curse.
That deserved some form of punishment.
Geto sent him another smile, “Why don’t I award you accordingly?”
A curse appeared next to him, startling the human into a frightful scream as he stumbled off and ran.
“Make sure to go and find Larue for me whenever you can!” Geto called happily as the man kept screaming further into one of the temple corridors.
After a moment, he dusted his robes off and sighed, “Alright then. Time to get to work.”
“Huh, I thought you’d last longer.”
You mumbled as your kagune tore straight through the sorcerer’s abdomen and pinned him against the now scarlet-stained wall. By now you were sure that all the coffee was filled with drips of blood from all the deathly pale customers and former co-workers. How unfortunate.
The sorcerer didn’t respond or move. At this point, you were talking to a corpse.
“Aw, man! Now I have to get a whole new job.” You pouted, letting the body drop to the floor with the rest. “You see what you made me do? Could’ve left me be, serving gross-ass coffee. But you just had to play hero—not a very good one—but a hero, nonetheless.”
You allowed your kagune to retreat into your spine and get off the front counter. “Now how should I paint this canvas? Leave you all as is? Let the humans believe this to be a random homicide?” You stuck your tongue out, “Bleh, boring!” You knelt in front of the dead sorcerer and found yourself giggling as if he told you a joke, "Or maybe you killed them all and then yourself. Yeah, seems fitting. Sure to keep the rest of your kind off my back for a little bit. Including the humans.”
With that, you nodded to yourself and hummed a catchy tune to yourself as you went to grab a knife from the kitchen. After dancing to the song in your head, you stabbed the sorcerer in the abdomen multiple times until it was coated in his blood.
The whiff of the blood was delicious and you couldn’t help but get a few licks before putting the knife in his limp hand.
For a moment, you remained crouched in front of him. Staring straight at this corpse. Wondering when you became so used to the blood. To finding flesh so delicious.
Guess you couldn’t help who you were in the end.
Was it sad? Was it relieving?
You couldn’t say.
With a sigh, you stood, instantly catching movement in the reflection of the café front window.
“Hi, there.”
You barely had time to turn and see who else was in the café with you.
It felt as if an invisible chain yanked you back.
And everything turned black. Though, you weren’t unconscious.
And here entered the hellish part of the day.
Perhaps it wasn’t simple.
When Geto saw the curse for himself, he originally, only saw a human. But upon further inspection, he saw it. That cursed spirit. It was just hidden by that human cover.
Was it inside of the human? Was it even attached?
Or was the human the curse?
Either way, he was able to capture it and swallow it down like all the others.
The taste was strange though. Putrid like the rest but there was a sweetness to it. It was a pleasant surprise. Apart of him wished he could taste her all over again. The type of sweetness that was addicting. What a nasty drug.
It was definitely a special grade. That much was clear.
Useful. He needed power like this on his side. He was lucky to have caught it first before those sorcerers could.
Well, technically the dead sorcerer did find it first but didn’t have much time to exorcise it. Clearly.
He chuckled at the scene before him, “Well, aren’t you a gruesome little thing.”
And it was his to claim.
Proud of his recent accomplishment, he and Larue went back to the temple with more work awaiting them, well for Geto mostly.
“They’re all waiting for you, sir.” One of his followers informed him.
Next to him, Larue grinned, “Another speech tonight, Geto-sama?”
“That’s where I do my work best.” Geto smiled with a nod as he walked to the main room.
Upon entering, dozens of followers left from the Time Vessel Association got on their knees and pressed their foreheads to the matted floor.
“We live in a disease. Sickness everywhere we look.” Geto took his seat at the altar, brushing out his robes. “And it is our job to get rid of it. To clean this world of monkeys. And I recognize that many of you are hungry for that. But all followers must be guided in the right direction.” His smile grew as they kept their heads down. None of them dared to look him in the eyes as he spoke. They respected him. They adored him.
It’s what he deserved.
“You all obey me now if you wish to live and see the world we create.” No one objected to this. Larue stood further at the back with a proud smile. “Do you trust me to lead you all without question? If not—”
It’s as if for a short moment, he wasn’t in control of his body. His stomach twisted into painful knots, and his throat both retracted and tightened until he finally lurched forward and retched the ball with the curse out onto the matted floor.
“Geto-sama!”
That had to be Larue’s voice. But Geto couldn’t hear much of him. Not with a bleary mind, dazed in confusion and shock.
Yes, in the past he had vomited after swallowing curses. But they never came back up.
What the hell?
You weren’t sure where you’d end up after scaping but you sure as hell wasn’t expecting to be standing before a bunch of people, bowing but staring at you in utter shock and delicious fear.
Of course, you were still pissed about being captured but your lips lifted upward into a smirk at the sight. That is until your eyes caught on an old insignia on the wall.
The symbol for the Time Vessel Association.
You scoffed, “You guys never give up, huh?” You wiped the leftover blood off your lips and grinned, “Can’t even let it go after almost three years? That’s fine, I guess. More food for me.”
In your mouth, your canines began to ache just as your eyes locked on one of the men. Frozen in fear at the sight of you. Looking like he was just about ready to run out of there.
“Excuse me.”
The voice rang in your ears. Coming from behind you like at the café. Lazily, you glanced over your shoulder only to be met with the last person you ever expected to see.
“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t eat my loyal followers.”
You didn’t recognize him at first. His hair was longer, and he wore a kasaya over his black robes—but his smile was the same, just with something a lot more sinister.
“Hey,” You mused with a raised brows, “You killed me last year. And took my girls.”
He stared at you too—you were sure he recognized you too with the subtle look of familiarity flashing in his eyes.
Of course, he recognized you.
The sweet store clerk from that village. The non-sorcerer that had made him falter back then—only by a little.
His conviction about it had been long resolved though. To him, you were just like the rest of them. A monkey.
Although, you looked quite different with blood tattooed onto your face, clothes, and body. Wearing it proudly like a second skin.
Showing little reaction to recognizing you was easy.
But it was the way you said ‘my girls’ that made his fingers twitch and his smile become stiff.
“Larue. The meeting’s ending early. Please, escort everyone out. Some important matters that need tending to.”
After the man, Larue, gave you one last cautious stare—you didn’t bother sparing him a look—he led the rest of the group out of the room. Leaving only you and this man. A cult leader if you had to guess.
“I didn’t think you were close with the girls.” He mused as he began circling you, brown eyes staring intently at every part of your body. Almost as if he were looking for something.
“Yeah? How could you after you killed me?” You threw back easily, unmoving from your spot as you let him circle you. It was a little game, you thought. You would pretend to be the prey while you let him be the predator. “Didn’t leave me much room to say anything more either. Not with your—you still on that whole killing humans shit?”
You heard him chuckle faintly behind you, “Yes, I am.”
“Mmm. How quirky of you.”
He appeared in your vision, stopping before you with his hands tucked behind his back. The way he moved was elegant like he was acutely aware of his body and those near it. “I hate to break it to you but they’ve long forgotten about you,” His smirk grew, eyes gleaming as he watched your reaction—or rather something else, you remembered he always did that when the two of you first met. “I made sure of that.”
Of course, he still wanted some reaction from you but it didn’t help that he naturally had the face of a liar—even more now than back then—so you couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at your lips.
The man’s—whom you still had yet to learn the name of—smirk never wavered but he still kept staring. Right through you. “You wouldn’t be meeting them, unfortunately. Not when I’m done with you.”
“Ooh.” A grin left your lips as he continued circling you. “Done with me, huh? By a girl dinner first.” He hummed from behind you. You glanced over your shoulder, having to look up only a little to see his face. Your voice was slow when you asked, “What do you plan to do to me?”
There was a chuckle as he slipped from behind you to appear in front of you once more. “So are you a vengeful spirit? I don’t particularly have time for a random human to be haunting me. I’d just kill you and be done with it.” You tilted your head but didn’t respond. Nor did he look for one. “Or you could just be a simple cursed spirit, but then there’s the question of your cursed energy. It certainly isn’t similar to a cursed spirit. And considering none of the ones I capture come back up, I’d have to cross that possibility off my list.”
“You’re talking a lot more than last time.” You pointed out, watching him curiously. He was dangerously close. And you were all too ready, all too hungry for this.
“Or,”
He continued as if you hadn’t said anything. His eyes still searching, a neutral smile playing on his face.
“Ah yes, now I see. The curse could be attached to you. A cursed human. Now how did your filthy monkey hands get a hold of this curse—”
He was close enough by then. That was his first mistake.
You snatched his neck and slammed him down onto the steps of the altar in a matter of seconds, completely taking the man off guard.
Now you straddled his waist, gripping his neck with both your hands as you laughed with wide ghoul-like eyes. His larger hand gripped your wrist, trying to free himself from your otherwise ungodly strength, his own eyes widening slightly when a red glimmer shot out of your back, sharpening to a point where it was pointed directly at his forehead.
“Who the hell do you think you are, huh?! Some god? Could’ve fooled me! Hey, why don’t we have a rematch? Maybe this time it’ll be a fair fucking fight!”
In a blink, something heavy snatched you up and swallowed you whole.
Geto sat up, rubbing his now sore neck as his curse flung around the room and landed on the ceiling, swallowing you.
“Heh,” He grunted out as he got to his feet.
Maybe he was pissed. Maybe he was intrigued. Maybe a little bit of both. Fortunately, none of his followers were in the room. Imagine they saw you manhandling him with ease like that. What leader would that make him? How could he appear weak like that in front of them?
But that didn’t stop the growing grin tugging at his lips. This was a completely different person compared to the human he met at the store—if you were even human at all. You had been so nice, and sweet—your smile so genuine. And now? Maybe death changed you. Maybe you were a cursed human.
Maybe you’ve always been like this.
“You’re not going to make this any easier on me, are you?” He sighed as he stepped off the altar, glancing toward his curse who still stuck to the ceiling. Watching him patiently. “I was going to offer to kill you quickly and then take the curse, but I see now you don’t deserve my mercy. I could have saved you. Maybe you should’ve stayed dead—either way, I’m going to enjoy having your cursed spirit under my control. It’s useful. Powerful. Something you monkeys lack—”
His curse exploded. Bits of it’s skin falling. Blood spilled onto the floor.
And a blurred object flying toward him at an ungodly speed.
Geto barely dodged you as he jumped out of the way.
You left a large hole in the floor when you landed where the man had been standing. Now your kagune was out and gleaming, hungry, and simmering with rage just as your blood was.
The man landed a few feet away from you, black holes appearing at his side with more curses spilling out of them. You grinned at this and stood straighter at the altar.
You looking down on him. Just as he had done with his followers.
Geto tried not to react at that. Tried not to show how pissed he truly was.
But you noticed it of course.
It made your grin follow into a laugh as you sunk easily into your fighting stance.
“You done spittin’ that narcissistic shit, yet?” You called amusingly. “Or are you ready for that rematch now?”
“That’s enough out of you.” He now didn’t look so amused as his cursed spirits launched themselves at you at once. “That curse does not belong to you. I believe it’s time you hand it over to me now.”
You allowed the two cursed spirits to get as close as possible before dashing from the altar and ending up in front of the man with a sickening sweet smile.
“Make me.”
But he didn’t lean away, your noses practically touching. He matched your grin, white teeth glistening in the dimly lit room.
“Gladly.”
More curses came flying at you. Some large and others small. You dodged and killed the smaller ones. The larger ones were a lot more difficult to get through. Truthfully, you didn’t know much of your limit to your strength or speed since you spent most of your life trying to suppress it all, but it seemed you were able to keep up anyway, coupled with your skills in martial arts.
And it seemed he was using the curses to keep you distracted long enough until he could get up close himself. His arms wrapped around you from behind, restricting you as a flying curse was zooming toward you, its beak wide open and ready to take your head.
“Comfortable?” He whispered in your ear, his chuckle tickling the lobe. “Is this what you wanted when we first met in that store? To be this close?”
You grinned and leaned back into him just a bit, “Your such a tease.”
With that, you smashed the back of your head into his face, forcing him to let you go as you spun and kicked him hard enough that he flew.
Fortunately for him, one of his curses caught him and another smashed into you, throwing you across the room. You quickly tore through it with your kagune and leaped back up to your feet just as he came at you.
His combat style was fast and far more experienced than you were, but you managed to keep up. You managed to land in a few jabs of your own until one of his curses took you down again.
You threw it off and spat out a mixture of spit and blood, “Cheater.”
“Like you’ve been playing fair.” He scoffed, rubbing his jaw from the last blow you had given him.
“Try not throwing your stupid curses at me and fight me yourself.” You challenged, jumping to your feet. “I can’t be the only one making the first moves here.”
Just as you said that you tackled him into the damaged altar stairs, straddling his lap again, tugging his hair so he was looking up at you, “Comfortable?”
He was staring up at you again, this time with visible interest, “You’re not human, are you?”
You rolled your eyes and let his hair go but kept your legs straddled at his waist, “What gave that away?”
“Are you done with your little show now?” He asked with a lazy smirk now on his face.
There was movement in the corner of your eye and you glared, “I swear to go if another one of your stupid curses—”
Another one slammed into you and threw you into a wall. “Asshole!” You grunted, holding your shoulder as you dodged another attack from the curse, “Play fair!”
The cheeky bastard grinned, “Make me.”
Your kagune came out. It was like a tail, almost. An extra limp that was a part of your body but hidden. It swished around, cautiously waiting for your command. Waiting for your next target.
The both of you were bruised and bloodied, surrounded by curses, but neither ready to back down just yet. You wondered how long the two of you would keep at this. Which one of you would eventually give in? Which one of you would die? Is that his end goal here? To still kill you?
Well, with the way the curses and him surrounded you, the latter seemed more possible with each passing second.
That didn’t mean you were ready to give in. Not like last time. Not like that night in the temple. The two of you stared at each other with silent challenge. He was back on the altar as if expecting you to bow down. Like you were supposed to submit like his little followers. He hid it well back then.
Only this time, there was a subtle look across his face. One he didn’t bother to hide.
He was hesitating.
Now was your chance to—
The doors behind you swung open behind you and a call of your name screamed desperately as a smaller body crashed into your back.
Your first instinct was to attack, to direct your kagune at the newcomer. Only when you felt smaller arms wrap around your waist from behind, you faltered.
Now you were hesitating.
Another body came at you at the front, just as small as the other one.
Nanako looked up at you with wide teary eyes, “Don’t hurt him! Please! We don’t want you to get hurt!”
Through your shock, you were a little offended. If they took one look at him, they’d see that you were managing just fine. But you didn’t voice that out loud. Instead, you allowed your kagune to disappear.
“We thought you were dead.” Mimiko whimpered from behind you, her hold tightening. “When Nanako said she heard your voice, I didn’t believe her. But you’re here! And we don’t want you to go!”
“Please don’t leave us again.” Nanako buried her face into your stomach, her voice becoming muffled. Silent tears were falling down your cheeks as you knelt to their height. “Please, please, please, don’t leave.”
“Okay,” You whispered to her, allowing Mimiko to come around and hug you from the front as well. You wrapped your arms tightly around them, ignoring how most of the curses that had surrounded you had disappeared. Ignoring how easily you melted in front of your girls. Ignoring how much your heart had been missing a void up until now. Ignoring how he watched the three of you intensely from the altar. “Okay, okay, I won’t leave. I’m right here.”
Mimiko pressed her cheek against yours, “Promise?”
You chuckled shakily, realizing how much you were trembling as you held them. “Yeah, I promise.”
“Okay, well, we have to pinky promise on it,” Nanako said pulling back a bit as she wiped her tears on her hoodie sleeve. “We kept our promise. Now it’s your turn.”
Nanako held out her pinky which you took instantly. Mimiko lifted her head from your shoulder and joined her pinky with yours. You allowed them to fight over covering your much longer pinky with their little ones, earning small giggles from the girls.
Geto watched the interaction, silently.
The girls never approached anyone other than Geto himself. Not even the people he trusts the most, the girls weren’t as comfortable as they were with him.
He didn’t doubt the girls' adoration for him. Not one bit. They were his.
But perhaps he saw why they were also equally yours.
Mimiko and Nanako weren’t secretive about their relationship with you, even after they thought you had died—like he told them. They always spoke fondly of you, despite knowing you for only a short amount of time. Still, in that short time, they experienced the most kindness they had ever received.
He remembered you freeing them from the cage. He remembered your protective stance when he appeared to you at the temple. He remembered the distraught look on your face when the girls willingly went with him. It wasn’t betrayal. It was sadness mixed with the simmering rage that was directed at him.
You weren’t human.
That much was clear.
You weren’t entirely a curse spirit either.
Probably more human than curse.
Geto wasn’t too sure how to feel about that yet.
Not yet anyway.
The girls were now in front of him, staring up at him with big pleading eyes. They didn’t have to say it with words.
They wanted you back into their lives. Now that you were here and alive, they wanted you. Just as much as they wanted to be by Geto’s side.
Then there was the fact that he didn’t want to kill you anymore—which was oddly unsettling for him. Technically, you weren’t human. But there was still so much to uncover about you.
And your power was useful. He couldn’t kill something like that.
He was smiling at you again. That passive one. The one that was meant as a warning as he approached you with the girls following in tow behind him.
“I don’t believe we’ve formally introduced ourselves.” You raised a brow as he leaned forward, your faces now inches apart. “You can call me Geto-sama.”
You didn’t utter your name, but he said yours with ease. Falling off his tongue in his deep and smooth voice.
“The girls told me so much about you.”
“Geto, huh?” You mumbled when the last curse sunk away.
“My followers refer to me as Geto-sama, yes.” He nodded, the smile remaining on his face.
It was annoying.
You sent him a grin, “I’m not one of your followers. Geto.”
Ever so slightly, you could see the subtle twitch in his brow. And at that, your grin grew.
Mimiko was the one to speak next, “Can we keep her?”
Tiktoker DEPORTS Her Ex For Cheating On Her…| Justice or Cruelty?
The Breakup Revenge That Broke the Internet | A woman’s viral revenge has everyone questioning if she went too far
When it comes to breakups, some people cry, some binge watch The Notebook, and some hit the gym with a vengeance. But one Texas woman decided to deal with her breakup in a way that has left the internet stunned. Instead of the usual tears and block-button drama, she decided to get even, by deporting her cheating boyfriend back to Mexico.
Yes, you read that right. Deported.
This isn’t just your regular “he left the toilet seat up, so I ghosted him” kind of breakup revenge. This is the “pack your bags, buddy, because we’re going on a one-way trip” level of petty. This TikToker’s heartbreak turned revenge story has racked up over 34 million views, with the internet split between cheering her on and clutching their pearls.
Let’s rewind to how it all started.
It all began when she discovered his dirty little secret. She was innocently transferring photos from his phone after a vacation probably reminiscing about their happy times when, BAM. There it was, messages from another woman. Flirty, shady messages. Her world cracked open.
She did what many of us would do, locked herself in the bathroom to cry. But as her tears dried, her mind shifted from heartbreak to strategy. Should she confront him? Kick him out? Key his car? But no. This woman wasn’t about to settle for cliché breakup theatrics. She wanted justice. And justice, in this case, involved a very creative interpretation of “deportation services.”
And then, inspiration struck. If she could bring him to the U.S., she could certainly send him back.
The plan? bold, almost cinematic-level diabolical. She sweetly suggested a spontaneous trip to Six Flags in San Antonio. “It’s just two hours away,” she told him with the kind of smile that hides a storm. He, blissfully unaware, agreed.
Here’s where things get spicy. Before hitting the road, she made sure he was well-fed and emptied his bladder. Why? Because this wasn’t a trip to Six Flags, it was a one-way ticket to the Mexican border. She couldn’t risk him waking up mid-drive and figuring out the plot. Let’s be real, her attention to detail deserves an Oscar.
With him snoozing in the passenger seat, she had two hours alone with her thoughts. Part of her wondered if she was going too far. Was this too much? Would people judge her? But then she remembered the texts. That woman. Those messages. And just like that, her anger reignited. She turned up her music and told herself, ‘I brought him, I will return him’. She said in her video, unapologetic about her actions.
When they reached the border, he was still blissfully snoring. But Mexican customs agents flagged her car for a secondary inspection, and that’s when he woke up. Confused, groggy, and probably wondering, “Why does this Six Flags have barbed wire?”
The confrontation was swift and savage. She told him she knew everything, and his face, according to her, went pale. “You want to be a bastard? Fine. Be a bastard. But you’re starting from scratch,” she spat. She handed him $50 (a generous farewell gift, honestly) and told him to get out of her car. And just like that, she drove off, leaving him and his cheating ways in the rearview mirror.
TikTok? Absolutely ate it up.
The video racked up millions of views, with people either calling her a hero or clutching their pearls in horror. “Best breakup story of all time!” one commenter declared. Others joked, “Girl, you should’ve gone to Six Flags after and posted selfies with a churro!”. Another chimed in, “Immigration needs to hire this woman”.
But not everyone was laughing. Critics were quick to point out that her revenge was less “queen energy” and more “questionably legal.” Legal experts weighed in, warning that what she did could be classified as kidnapping or even human trafficking. And while she jokes in later videos that no one wants to go to Six Flags with her anymore, the ethical debate is hard to ignore.
And here’s the twist, her ex somehow managed to return to the U.S. She claims she doesn’t know how and doesn’t care. “To this day, I don’t regret it,” she said in one of her videos.
Let’s not sugarcoat it, getting cheated on is soul crushing. It makes you question everything, your judgment, your self worth, your WiFi password sharing policy. But weaponizing someone’s immigration status as a form of payback? That’s not just petty, it’s dangerous.
Undocumented immigrants live with constant fear and anxiety, every day is a tightrope walk. The possibility of deportation looms over them like a shadow, and for someone to exploit that vulnerability, even out of heartbreak, raises ethical questions. Was this revenge, justice, or something darker?
The internet is divided, and honestly, maybe that’s the point. This story isn’t just about a cheating boyfriend and a scorned girlfriend, it’s about how we handle pain, betrayal, and power dynamics in relationships.
One thing’s for sure, This TikToker’s story is unforgettable. Whether you see her as a hero or a cautionary tale, she’s left an impression. And while she might have driven away with her head held high, the moral complexities of her actions still linger in the air!
But let’s end on this note, heartbreak can make us irrational. It can make us mean. But it’s important to remember that our actions, even in our worst moments, can have consequences bigger than we imagine. Revenge might feel sweet in the moment, but it rarely leaves you with a clean conscience or a clean legal record.
Ignorance is Bliss
Sam Winchester x plus size reader
Dean makes a startling discovery about his little brother’s love life and now he wants to wash his eyes out with bleach
Warnings: implied smut, crack humour, Dean is done
WC: 797
Minors DNI
The world had seemed to have reached a state of calm. There were monsters, sure, but they were just the normal ones, no more of God’s siblings or corrupt archangels trying to write books, or even were-piers. Just regular old monsters.
And Dean was happy with that. Sam was safe, they had a home, and now one of their best friends was living with them permanently. They had movie nights and went out on adventures, they even had family dinners once a week like normal people! Everything was perfect!
Everything was awful!
Dean cringed as he cleaned out Baby. Months of living on the road definitely made the build up of trash a monumental effort to clean out. But he took it in stride, glad to be doing something as mundane as cleaning his car. Yet, he didn’t expect to find a pair of ripped and suspiciously stained panties. A pair of panties that he knew well because he actually enjoyed doing laundry. A pair of panties that belonged to-
“Y/N!”
“What!!” She shouted back at him, determined to not move from her comfy spot on the couch in the library, but after a few seconds of him not responding, she groaned and stood up. Sam glanced at her from over his book.
“What does he want?” She shot him a glare.
“How the fuck should I know, he’s your brother.”
“He’s your best friend.”
“Shut up Winchester.” She started walking from the room, taking unusually ginger steps with bowed legs. Sam chuckled and went back to his reading.
By the time she reached the garage, Dean had determined that he was going to kill her and then himself. Her because she obviously had sex in his Baby and himself because he had to clean up her mess. “What do you want Dean? I’m supposed to be having enrichment time.”
A bundle of pink fabric flew over the car and landed at her feet. So that’s where those panties went. “Yeah I don’t care about whatever book you were reading. YOU HAD SEX IN MY CAR!” His face was red and blotchy, his jaw ticking with anger. “Who did you sleep with?”
“You don’t wanna know.” She warned as she kicked the ruined underwear behind her. But that seemed to set the hunter off even more.
“Yes I do because they’re also going on my kill list.” She shrugged nonchalantly.
“Seriously man, you don’t want to know.”
“Tell me!”
“Tell you what?” Sam evidently chose the exact right time to enter the garage behind Y/N, his brunette eyebrows scrunched in confusion.
“Who she got it on with in MY car so I can kill them!” His hazel eyes dropped to the concrete floor, spotting the garment that had sparked this whole debacle. Thin lips curled up into a truly wicked smirk and before anyone could react, Sam wrapped his arm around Y/N’s thick waist, tugging her into his side and said:
“I don’t think you want to kill your little brother, Dean.” And everyone froze. Y/N sighed deeply, already extremely fed up with her boyfriend, Sam’s grin kept widening as the look of horror on Dean’s face grew. And well, Dean also looked like he was about to have an aneurism.
His gaze flicked from Sam to Y/N, and then back to Sam, and then back to Y/N. “Son of a bitch! How long!” But that was most certainly a question he didn’t want answered, yet he still asked.
With a look of smug pride, Sam indulged him. “Seven months.”
“Seven months?!” A large hand slowly slipped from her hip, all the way down to her plump ass. Y/N shot him a glare but it’s not like that ever deterred the giant before.
“She’s never even slept in the room we gave her, and the key word there is slept.” He winked and Dean just about lost it.
“Shut up Sam.” He kept going.
“I’m surprised it took you this long to figure out. I mean we have had sex literally all over the bunker and pretty much all the motel rooms we’ve been in. Why do you think you caught me washing the dungeon at three in the morning?”
Apparently that was Dean’s last straw. “Right! You two are disgusting and I’m going to wash my eyes out with bleach and get blind drunk. When I wake up tomorrow, I will not remember this conversation and you will not remind me of it. Capiche?”
He stormed away but not before yelling over his shoulder. “And clean my fucking car!” There was a beat of silence and then Sam turned to his girlfriend.
“Wanna have sex in it before we clean it?” She shrugged.
“Why not, we’re both dead anyway.”
No Difference
Author’s Note: Hi, it's been a while since I update. My google doc I had full of some of my WIPs got deleted so I lost some of the previous request.
Request:
Due to the culture of looking down on half-bloods in the wizarding world, I can picture Newt!MC sympathizing with Sebek about his internalized racism as they had seen multiple Slytherins act the way he does in order to hide the fact that they're either a half-blood or a muggle born. It'll be touching if while Newt!MC is explaining their world to Sebek they touch upon the blood status subject and bring up example of half-bloods being just as exceptional as any regular magician.
Pairing: Newt!MC x Sebek (Platonic or romantic)
Warning: Newt!MC is based off of Newt Scamander, mostly dialogue, short.
You've met many people on your travels, different races, ethnicities, and so on. Compared to your fellow wizard, you would treat everyone you met with decency unless you saw a valid reason not to. Ever since you arrived at NRC, there were few who didn't let anyone doubt their magical abilities due to their background. Yet there was a certain first year, in your flying class, who often called you human and would talk about humans or about Malleus being superior. Overtime, you learned more about his lineage and how he himself was half human himself which made you thought perhaps that is what fed into his usual behavior.
“Sebek, I didn’t know your dad was a dentist?” I started out as we were studying.
“Why would that be important as of right now?” he stated, looking up from his homework.
“You always ask me questions; wouldn’t it be fair if I could not do the same to you?”
He glared a bit before speaking with a slight hesitation and suspicious tone.
“...yes, he is.”
“Such a fascinating job, he must be quite special.”
“He’s just a magic-less human dentist.”
"So what, his magical ability does not change the fact that he is special. I presume your mother hold him in a high regard."
"She does, though I do not entirely understand why/" He grumbled as he wrote out his notes.
"She likely saw him for who he was rather than the lack of magic." I suggested, only for him to scoff at it.
"That does not take away from the fact tha he does not have magic."
"That does not make him any less important besides, do you care about having magic that much?"
"Yes, or else I would be weak, it would've been easier if my father wasn't magicless."
It was a little surprising to hear Sebek be somewhat open with you considering how he's usually yelling at you and such throughout the day, but it was nice. It also sowed some of his insecurities about himself.
"There have been many extraordinarily talented people I have met. Many of them being half-blooded magicians that have been more exceptional than the sum purebloods magicians." You start "I do not judge on one's magical capability or who they're related to which you should learn to do as well. Each to their own."
“You won’t see me differently for my blood?” He asked as you shook head before he let out a hearty loud laugh. “Of course not, for I am Sebek, skilled magician and retainer of the great Malleus Draconia!"
It's good to see somethings don't change. We went back to studying and later on, you saw Sebek still prideful and his loud self, but shown a little brighter.
What if Eyaw literally adopted Spider? She got fed up with everyone ignoring her signs (Except Mo’at because she’s a cool grandma and knows what’s up) and said “Fine… I’ll do it myself”. She’ll find a way to connect to the boy and show herself as a regular Na’vi only Spider and maybe Kiri can see. She WILL mother the hell out of him.
it was clear that eywa was done with people failing her boy on his eighth birthday; she had little hope for the human folk whole up in the lab, and she knew it would take time for spider to get accepted into The People, but 3 years of neglect was enough for her. she lead spider out into the woods, ato'kirina lighting his way to the spirit tree. it was there she took him into her arms, holding him tight, being the first mother to rock him to sleep, to sing him sweet songs, and hold him as he slept peacefully, never once letting him get stolen away by bad dreams or nightmares.
she comes to him in his sleep, promised him he would never hurt or be alone like that ever again. she kissed his brow and brushed back his hair, and told him that when he couldn't come to her, for things she couldn't do for him in this life, he could go to mo'at, that she saw him and that she would take care of him.
that doesn't mean that she didn't hide him away from days, show him he didn't need that damned mask, nor did she leave him alone with only mo'at in the physical plane.
she left him with a gift, a gift to connect with all of her creatures, to see and know, to belong in her world like any other na'vi, like the very people who denied him.
she held him in the woods, watched him play, tussling with viperwolf pup's, racing slinths, walking among herds of titanothere. she watched him flourish, glowing like he never had before, finally holding a true smile on his face. she liked seeing him like this, watching him splash in the creek and stained green by sliding in the grass. she liked to hear his laugh and the way he spoke with a voice so full of kindness, to her, to the plants and animals he was surrounded by, in the little voice he used when talking to himself.
when she finally allowed him to be found, she covered him in ato'kirina, had a thanator lurk beside him, wrapped her roots around his feet, made it clear that he was hers now. if the animal and the roots and the mask wasn't enough; spider spoke of Her, how she saw him, held him those last few nights, showed herself to him. he called her mama, and broke her divine heart in the process. that was her baby.
when jake dragged him back to the village, she didn't let spider leave, he wouldn't go back to that god awful lab to more people that didn't want him. here in the village she could lead him back to her each night and hold him, so she could watch over him while he played with the kids of the village, and have access to mo'at who took over the rest of his care.
spider grew up with no mother or father, not one that would claim him in the physical world. mo'at was a good caretaker, taking her new duty with grace, taking the little ball of energy under her wing. the first thing she did was tame that hair, brushing it out with time and care, restoring it back to its beautiful curly golden state. she held the boy close, under her shall or on her hip as they went about village life. but most of all she embraced his connection with Eywa; she was not his mother, but She was, and spider would always know that.
through their nights together, she taught spider all he needed to know, introducing him to his ancestors; tsu'tey to teach him to fight, eytukan to teach him to lead, trudy to teach him to give his all for others, sylwanin to teach him to do what he thinks is right. he had a family, a big one, he was never alone, not if she could do anything about it.
that was her boy, and she would make sure he lived a good life, especially after she failed to show who should have been his family what they were losing.
Kid's Murder
Geto x reader, Gojo x reader
Warning: Murder, brainwashed, manipulation, new light, happy ending.
no proof read sorry ya'll.
Reblogs are appreciated <3
“You’re a monster Suguru!” You yelled at him with tears running down your cheeks. “ Are you second guessing our life?” he asked. Your love for Suguru started during your 1st year of Highschool. As time passed by you two ended up dating. Bright and Happy. In love. When Suguru told you his future plans you didn’t care. You followed him. You were so blinded by love that you didn’t care to have him explain his entire process of his plan. He knew the girls he took in were more than likely to die, and so during your early twenties he wanted a son or daughter to carry on his ideals. To keep the cycle going in case he suddenly dies. You had twins at 19. Beautiful boys. Sena and Seiji. The pregnancy was surprisingly easy, same with birth. Suguru made sure he was there as much as he could while planning out what was cruel. When the twins turned 5…The eldest of them wasn’t a curse user. Sena. One Suguru came home feeling hurt. You saw blood on his cheek and hands. “ I tried saving him y/n. Our Sena.” he lied straight to you and since you were so naive you believe him. You were brainwashed and manipulated to the max. He got rid of his own son. As years passed by you ended up having 7 kids. Another set of twins and 3 single children. He killed off 3 out of the 7. Those murders with different stories. You were so fucking blind it was insane. Until you had 2 more kids. One day you were going to surprise Suguru and his daughter with lunch. It was an hour trip but it was alright. You heard their laughter and walked close enough to see the way Suguru made your little one scream and cry in pain. He then made it quick afterwards. You left running back. You got the kids fed and ready for bed.
You were going to search for help and the only people you thought of were your old classmates,teachers, and principle, Specifically Gojo Satoru. The strongest. One day you decided to take your children on a trip while their father was gone. They were so excited. You told them you’d take stops to different locations. The last one being where you knew Gojo goes to take a breather. To relax a bit. You enjoyed the time with your kids. Laughing, eating, taking photos. When you hit the last destination. You told them to set up the picnic you all decided to have “last minute”. You said you needed to use the bathrooms nearby. Instead you went into a hidden part of the forest. There he was. “ How did you know I’m here? Y/n.” Gojo asked. “ It’s always been your time to breathe and relax…I rolled the dice hoping you’d show here.” You replied, twiddling with your fingers. He noticed. You felt shameful having to ask for help. “What is it? Did you finally come to your senses after all these years?” he asked. You started crying silently, “I didn’t know Suguru was doing such cruel things.” you spoke. “You couldn’t be that stupid. You were so fucking blind and pathetic.” he replied looking at you directly. “ We h-had kids…ju-st recently..I witnessed hi-m murdering my youngest child a twin. My daughter. I noticed that the ones that died were non-sorcerers. The ones without curse energy.” you replied trying to hold back from more crying. Gojo felt awful. “ I can process him doing this to regular humans…but his own children..it's too much.” Gojo said. “ Mama!! Where are you!?” your son Sena called out. “Please Gojo help me. I can’t live with that man anymore. My kids…They can’t grow up to end up like him. They need a good environment to live in. I don’t want to lose them if they don’t agree with his ideals. Help me, I'm begging you.” You said falling onto your knees as Gojo looked away and didn’t respond to you. “Big brother… Is mama gone? Is she hurt? Did dada hurt her like he did with my twin.” Aki said, crying. Sena had his siblings in a line. You and Gojo heard him. “Please Gojo.” you begged. He helped you stand up again. He gave you a tight hug which you both needed. “ Let’s go now. I’ll support you and your kids from now on.” he said letting you go. “ I know the kids will want things from home.” you said. “ No we don’t.” Sena said. “ He hurt my siblings Mama,Right? Why?” Tadashi asked. You realized none of them needed anything from home. All they did was school and train. “ Your father lost his sanity.” Gojo said. “Let's get going. Leave everything behind. Any electronics as well.” You said. You walked back to the car putting everything inside. Sena lit the car on fire. Once you were all at a distance the car exploded and the flames burned incredibly strong.
“ Mama, where are we going to live now?” Aki asked, holding her big brother’s Tadashi’s hand. “Somewhere safe sweetie.” you replied. Gojo carried Aki. “ My place. It’s very hidden. I will protect you all, don't worry.” Gojo replied. You knew he meant that. You didn’t want him to worry so you were going to hold up on your own as well. Satomi played with his blindfold. Hours passed. Gojo decided to keep you all close as you went shopping for daily necessities and fun things for the kids. Computers and phones for You, Sena, and Kazumi. He made sure you all had tracking devices for safety. Fun games. Board and online ones. He made sure their education will be good. He bought them school supplies and gave you their curriculums for the school year with the textbooks they’ll be needing. You’re a homeschool teacher and so you’ve taught them a lot. Once he took you all home they were shocked at how a hidden home could be so huge and luxurious.
As they chose their rooms Gojo pulled you aside. “If you allow it, I'd like to take Sena to Jujutsu High. At least as a trial of 2 months. If he likes it, can he attend?” he said. “ A month and 2 weeks…if he wants to attend..he can but teach him all you can, to make him stronger, so he can protect himself and the relationships he makes along the way.” you said to him. “Yes. I will. I swear.” he replied. You nodded. He walked to the living room. “ Did you all choose a room?” Gojo asked. They smiled and nodded. “ Satomi can have a room when she’s older, for now She’ll sleep with her mommy.” He said. “ Thank you sir!” they said in unison. “ No problem. Your mommy and I have known each other since we were in High School. Awesome right? She was a total weird and shy loser, however she’s a powerful person. A little bit near my level.” he said with a laugh he’s always had. “ Our mom isn't weird nor a shy loser!” Aki said. “ He’s right, I was weird and shy. He helped me get out of my shell. I kicked his ass only once, that's only because he had the flu.” You said taking Satomi from Kazumi.
Months went on by. Sena did attend Jujutsu high. Gojo kept his promise. He trained Sena like no other. He taught him so much. When he’d come home to you and the kids. He helped them with the homework you gave them. He’d also help with Satomi. That little one is very energetic so he would tire her out with princess parties or playing who can get to mommy the fastest. With Kazumi and Tadashi he would teach them anything they’d need. One time you were busy with cleaning and Kazumi asked a terrifying question. “ Gojo. Is it true that periods hurt? When will I get mine?” she asked. It caught him so off guard. He was sweating and then put on his serious face. You and Shoko during those days were a pain to him and Suguru. You girls would complain a lot. He remembered how you girls complained about different painful spots. “Well… It will but every girl's body is different so who knows. I don’t know what age girls get it. Ask your mom about anything like that. She’s a female like you, so she’ll have loads of information about it. It’s good to know you trust me about asking things like that. Run along. Don’t forget to ask your mom and do your homework.” he replied. Kazumi left for her room. Gojo fell onto the couch and let out a huge sigh. He was panicking in his mind the entire time. “ Hey da- I mean Gojo…Is it okay If you can help me with math equations.” Tadashi said. Gojo was shocked. Tadashi called him dad. “ Yes of course. I’m always here if you need me okay.” he replied.
There was a specific day where he bursted into tears.
“ I almost called him dad like 5 times…” Tadashi said to his siblings. “Me too big brother” Aki replied. “ I did once..it felt normal. I apologized after. He said it was okay.” Kazumi added. “ I called him Dad in front of my classmates… They were all shocked. He didn’t deny me as his son. I keep wondering if he actually sees us as his kids…or if he was just trying to save me from embarrassment.” Sena said, playing with his shoe laces. Gojo was listening to them. He cried silently. Of course he did. After 2 months of you moving in with the kids, he started flirting with you. At first it was playful but after time he realized it was real. He started getting his shit together. He naturally became a father to them and a great boyfriend to you. “ Hey y/n..I heard them..they said Dad.” he said crying. You wiped his tears. “ I think that's beautiful. You are a great dad. You have your flaws but you’re a great dad. I love you Satoru Gojo.” you said. He kissed you passionately. The kids saw and gasped. “ Mama!” Satomi said. Gojo pulled away with a caught smile. “...does this mean… I mean..is it okay if we call you dad.” Kazumi asked. “ Sena, I didn't save you from embarrassment. I didn’t deny you because I think all of you kids are my own. My little, crazy, awesome angels.” Gojo replied. You held Gojo’s hand with a tight grip. Gojo always thought he’d never fall in love, that he’d never have kids, that he wouldn’t be able to enjoy life, it all faded away when he fell in love with you. “ Da..daa..dada.” Satomi said while having her cute little hands in her mouth. He carried her pecking her forehead. “That’s me.” he said happily.
“ I love my babies and my Satoru.” You said. You were full of love and happiness. You all shared a big family hug.
Any new upcoming series with w/w?
Lol, I had a whole answer typed up and almost completed last night, I could only remember a few upcoming shows but added a bunch of ongoing and recent with descriptions and then the post editor hiccuped and removed most of it so I angrily went to sleep instead.
But maybe that was for the best, because this morning a video of upcoming f/f shows in April came out so now I can add a few more.
There's Dead Ringers, that show with Rachel Weisz playing twin gynecologists and since it's a genderbent adaptation of an existing movie we already know it's gonna be super messy. It would be pretty wild for Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies to not have some wlw and luckily it does, the trailer itself reveals a couple. Tiny Beautiful Things, with Kathryn Hahn and Sarah Pidgeon (Leah in The Wilds) playing her younger self, apparently Kathryn Hahn's character's daughter is queer. Slip is a kinda scifi, where a bored wife cheats on her husband and realizes every time she has sex with someone, she wakes up married to them. The show's about her trying to get back to her original life, and there are a series of different husbands, but also a few wives (also, the first "replacement" husband is played by Boorman's actor from Willow!). There are also the upcoming Thai dramas Be Mine, Reverse 4 You, and 23.5, as previously mentioned.
In terms of returning series coming back, there's the Disney cartoon The Owl House, getting its final ep. Single Drunk Female's second season is returning soon. It has a bi lead, and she did have a female love interest but it was pretty temporary compared to the will they/won't she has with the main character male love interest. Her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor, also a very main character, is a lesbian, and she's married but her wife's actress is a regular on another show now so I dunno if she'll be back.
Welcome to Eden, a Spanish thriller about people trapped on an island with a cult, ended the first season on a major cliffhanger so it'll be exciting to see what happens now, though it feels like anyone could die so that's a bit nerve-wracking. It has a lot of different kinds of rep, f/f, m/m, trans, one of the gay guys is deaf too and it's a plot point that his boyfriend won't learn sign even though his friends have.
The Epix series From is a pretty well done horror series about people trapped in a town and who get hunted at night, it's more ominous and suspenseful than outright gory. It actually has three wlw, though one is mostly with one guy, the one who's engaged to a woman outside the town seems to be about to start a romance with another guy, and one is a teen who's crushing on the first woman, feels unrequited. I didn't know about any of them when I started, so they're a bonus, the show itself is rather compelling.
As for current shows, The Power (lol, get it, current) started last night on Prime, it's nice that after the misreading of Class of '07, this new show about girls does immediately have a wlw. Gap's already finished but it made such a splash, if you haven't watched, I'll mention it again. The other Thai drama, Show Me Love, is still airing. Fantasy Island is honestly kind of sweet, it feels like one of those '90s shows, episodic, bright colors and optimism, and great guest stars. One of the two leads, I'd say, or at least the second billed main, is queer.
We got our three firefighter shows, 9-1-1 with a solid (now) established relationship, Fire Country, a lesbian character but not much screentime, and of course Station 19, which is honestly winning me back in a huge way with their current storyline (if they land it).
Cop wlw update (why are there so many of them!): NCIS Hawai'i remains super cute, especially when Lucy is on, looks like Ayanna on Law & Order: Organized Crime got herself a new gf with a super hot voice, The Rookie: Feds still has Niecy Nash playing a super likable and bi lead. I couldn't stand the egregious copaganda in FBI: Most Wanted, and like, imagine how bad it'd have to be, when I can still watch all the rest of these shows, but Sheryll's still there, so. Sin Huellas (No Traces) has already finished but gets another mention for being as funny as it was, with a cute, hot couple at the center. Rabbit Hole's just started, but the initial antagonist/probable grudging ally's an FBI lady who within the first 10 minutes of the first ep dropped that she had a wife. Van der Valk has started its third season and though I'm gonna keep hoping Lucienne's INCREDIBLY hot ex from 2x03 returns, Lucienne, second billed, is plenty hot by herself. Ariana Guerra, who played the novitiate in Helstrom, has joined the second season of CSI: Vegas. Her character's bi and has a main character boyfriend but he seems like he'll most likely end up with a different character.
I'm not really going through these in any particular order, except combining the above two types, but let me just blow through the rest of the ongoing shows: the Canadian family comedy Run the Burbs has been quite sweet in how it's written the teen daughter, How I Met Your Father comes across as an old fashioned sitcom, except one of the characters is a lesbian. It's kind of fun in its familiarity and low stakes. I didn't expect to be as drawn into The Watchful Eye as I did, the trailer felt quite soapy and it was, at times, but all the nannies were great, and I ended up quite liking the f/f side couple. It's amazing what actual personalities can do. :o A Million Little Things is winding down its final season and Grace Park's character is engaged to Cameron Esposito's character so it feels pretty endgame at this point.
If you didn't watch or stopped watching Carnival Row because the main m/f relationship seemed so especially trite, you maaaay want to give it another look. I'm not nearly caught up with Bel-Air, but in the first season they wrote Ashley's sexuality really well, especially since she's so young. I'm sure you can't have missed my Perry Mason gifsets by now, but I can only reiterate what a great character Della Street is. One of the kids in Gotham Knights is bi (and her brother is trans!) but I'm not sure it's worth getting invested before cancellation. Unless the CW is only going to keep projects involving the Supernatural trio?
At this point, hoping everyone who's into wlw has at least tried Yellowjackets or is aware enough of it to know they don't want to try it. Las Pelotaris 1926 is a Spanish language historical drama about female athletes playing--well, the sport is basque pelota but if you need a reference point, it's like squash or racquetball. If you haven't yet caught up with RWBY, now would be an okay time. Lastly, I've still never watched any of Riverdale or even Choni clips, but its final season has just started and you know, I gotta respect the longevity of whatever they've been doing with them, however up and down they seem to have been, and perhaps this final season will be an up. From what I've seen on SM, they seem to get endgame soulmatey treatment more than any of the other ships and I can respect that.
Aside from the Thai dramas that might air after April and a few of the other shows that ended their seasons in March (or February in Gap's case), all of these have eps airing this month. After this year of cancellations, I think it's worth enjoying what we can, even as we acknowledge how much lead/main character rep and longevity we're losing. :o
#replies#femslash related stuff#sent on 20230329#Anonymous#5#the power prime spoilers#thai drama#spoilers#I don't even know where to begin with tagging#also when I say last night I mean thursday night#by the time I finished this actually last night (friday) it was so late I didn't have the energy to proof
I find the whole premise of the war in Houses very sad.
Rhea is being targeted because "everything is the fault of Crests" according to Edelgard. Rhea has no power over Crests themselves, and the blood that enables Crest bearers to use Relics is dragon blood. The Relics are the bones of her brethren.
According to Edelgard, whose every ounce of information is fed to her by the Agarthans (why does she even believe anything her captors say again?), Rhea is an enemy... but why would Rhea condone anything related to Crests and Relics? Also, Edelgard didn't stop the Agarthans from kidnapping Flayn for her blood, allowing them to create demonic beasts. On top of that, she later uses demonic beasts for her war, so she uses Agarthan technology, etc, to turn regular humans into demonic beasts while saying that Rhea is the one at fault.
Rhea, who actively tries to stop Relics from falling into the hands of people who will turn into a demonic beast if they use them. She gets mad if Byleth says they won't turn over the Lance of Ruin to her, and it's one of the few times she openly gets mad at Byleth - because she knows the dangers of it falling into the wrong hands. Her only relief came from Sylvain - not Byleth - who said he would take the Lance of Ruin and assured her he wouldn't let it fall into anyone else's hands. He was also pretty convincingly honest about it, because she wanted him to remember the dangers of it and he says he "won't soon forget". Coming from him it was likely the most honest response she could've gotten out of anyone else in the monastery, so she let it go.
And also, here we are, with Rhea, one of the very last of her kind, being told she can't exist because she's not human, thus proving all her fears and worries about her identity correct. In CF, the last straw for her was that same person "taking" Byleth, Sitri's child, from her (i.e. even if Byleth "chose" that path, there was someone that was the cause of that decision. Without the war starting, Byleth wouldn't have decided that, so in Rhea's eyes it's Edelgard's fault, but she also isn't letting Byleth get away with it either).
It's also sad that Rhea's only chance to tell the truth (i.e. to Claude) was when she was already dying. There was no chance for her to tell the truth, be free of it and still feel safe. In this case she also wouldn't have died if the war had never started, because her five years of captivity by Edelgard left her weak and it kept her from being at her full strength when it came time to fight the Agarthans.
It's very frustrating for me too that we have Claude who does what he can to find out the truth, but Edelgard never does any such thing and just immediately believes what the Agarthans believe. Instead of her thinking her captors might be lying, she allies with them to kill Nabateans, which is exactly what they want. Why not try to find out the truth, or talk to Rhea to figure out what her side of the story is? Why just take the side of your tormentors both by information and in a war of your creation? Edelgard was a puppet on Thales' strings and willingly went along with it for years.
But somehow everything ever is Rhea's fault. See, even if Sothis was uwu BaD and stuff, I'm still not sure how any of that lands on Rhea, besides for her being Sothis' child and thus the children of the parent must die simply for who their parent is. Either way, it comes down to Rhea not being human, and thus Edelgard blaming her for every problem in Fodlan ever. It's sad to me because it really is that simple in terms of Rhea getting blamed for everything.
Rhea lied about the Crests and Relics, calling the people she hated heroes (something Edelgard could never do about the people she hated) to avoid more tragedy. It's almost like her lying for the benefit of humanity worked against her, which in an ironic way is like saying the humans were the enemies all along. She does good things for them and they just turn on her. It's kind of like, maybe she should've seen them as enemies all along, but she didn't. She accepted the ones who didn't hurt her or her kin. She accepted the people who had nothing to do with any of that.
Idk I just wanted to mention Rhea's place in the war because I've never really brought it up. It's just sad to me that she did everything she could to stay safe while not viewing humans as an enemy, but her kindness was part of her downfall. It makes me wonder if she'd told the truth eventually that people would've understood better. When she tells Claude, he realizes all the lies Rhea's been telling weren't hurting anyone, but instead allowing the power of the dragons to continue to exist in humans. If it had been her decision, she never would've allowed that because it was her family that was killed for that.
But like... apparently it's all her fault. Apparently everything is all her fault.
I know the Fodlan games have a huge glaring issue with victim blaming, but it's very sad to see that the victims are at fault right until their death (mainly on CF, but if you factor in Hopes, SB and GW too). They're blamed for their coping for how they suffered, and they're blamed for every little thing they do or don't do from then on. There's no winning. If you're a victim, you're a villain. Edelgard used to be a victim, but she stopped being a victim when she started making victims and siding with the people who tormented her in the first place.
Imo the story should've had Edelgard side with Rhea against the Agarthans and still have done four routes. Like... sometimes I think of what Edelgard could've been, how she could've turned on the Agarthans after pretending to work with them, and end up telling Rhea everything. She could've been a kinder person who had the same "ideals" (quotations because they're empty promises in canon) and could've been equally as resolute and strong.
She could've told Dimitri the truth that she hid from him despite having an entire year to tell him. She could've told Claude what she knew about Rhea after talking to Rhea, since he was looking for answers. She could've been a really awesome lead where CF/SS were similar routes with different perspectives (not necessarily identical), but those routes were her and Rhea working together. At the end, she could've taken responsibility for any time she worked with the Agarthans and moved on.
It's also sad how the fandom does the exact same thing to Rhea. She does something, she's bad. She doesn't do something, she's still bad. All she has to do is exist and she's still bad. If she reacts in any way because of her trauma, she's bad.
The fandom's views on trauma are pretty disgusting though tbh, because the general vibe is that if you have trauma you can only uwu about it. If you have any other reactions, including violent ones, you're horrible and need to be "put down" because you didn't have a "proper, correct" reaction to your trauma. If you don't shut up and deal with it, you're a bad person.
I feel like CF was a mistake with its writing and justifying the actions of ableism and imperialism both in one route. A mistake as in, now people actually believe that stuff is all well an good (despite the other routes saying otherwise).
Anyway that's it for this. I'm sure someone out there will call me a Rhea apologist now even though I'm not and even though she's not even remotely my favorite character lol.
#DCB Comments#and no I'm not here for arguments if someone somehow sees this in a for you page#I'm just expressing I find the premise of it all very sad and not here to argue about the reasons for the war#you all know that shit is old ass arguing that's been done for four years now#I like the game and want to talk about it without people boohooing that it's not completely in favor of their pixel waifu#Three Houses
Midwestern Lexa and Clarke dancing to “can’t take my eyes off you” by Lady A 😍😍.. it’s one of the best country love songs out there and this is coming from someone who hates country music 😂 And just imagining Lexa slow dancing with her wearing a cowboy outfit head to toe and softly singing along with that twang ughh my heart
The thing is, in a town of 200 people, Clarke was fully expecting to have to keep her queerness tightly under wraps. It'd been part of what made her hesitate to accept the job at the local clinic in the first place. The knowing just how much she was probably going to have to hide this huge piece of herself.
But then Lexa went and boot-scooted her way into Clarke's life with those eyes and those lips and that god awful accent, and that smile that manages to make her agree with damn near anything. Which is exactly how she found out that not all small towns in the heart of the ol' sprawling USA treat queerness like it's something that makes a person defective. There's still bigots of course, and the few regulars about town who send them a look of disgust whenever they walk by hand in hand. There's even a few who refuse to go to Clarke's clinic once they find out who the new resident is dating. But she had to deal with that occasionally back in the city as well. So, nothing new. Not really.
And she knows it helps that Lexa knows everyone. Like... literally everyone. Knows them, knows their siblings, their children. Hell, even their grandparents.
Lexa's such a central piece of the way their little town survives that Clarke sometimes kinda feels like she dating corn-fed royalty. Or the commander of prairie grass and butter cows. The queen of neverending soybeans.
Or well... The homecoming queen of soybeans feels more apt...
So it's not entirely surprising when Lexa makes her tag along to the end of summer community "get together" they have her first year living in town. It's not surprising when she tells her to dress for the heat of the day and then the chill of the evening. And to wear comfy shoes.
"Cuz I'm takin' you dancing."
It's all beer coolers and picnic tables weighed down with an assortment of homemade dishes that people keep referring to as "salads" despite every last one of them containing a generous amount of mayo. There's a designated dancefloor in the middle of all the hubbub that consists of nothing more than a particularly arid patch of main street's only lawn, sectioned off by nothing but four bare lumber posts that have been driven right into the ground. But they certainly class it all up with a few strings of white Christmas lights stretched overhead that twinkle once the sun goes down.
These people are nuts.
But Clarke kinda loves it.
Especially getting to enjoy it from the comfort of Lexa's arms. Because that's how they spend the majority of the afternoon: waking around, talking to whoever, eating whatever plate of food someone sticks under their noses. They listen to the farm folk complain about the weather, and the town folk complain about the price of gas, and of course Lexa guides them by the table full of sullen teenagers forced to be there just to listen to them complain about how stupid this whole town is.
The trials of dating a natural born diplomat.
They let the church ladies wrangle them into helping set treats out for the kiddies after supper is done. They play some game horrifyingly named 'cornhole' (which Lexa is disconcertingly good at 🤨), and Clarke learns the correct way to shotgun a beer from a very nice gentleman apparently only known by everyone as 'Big Ed'.
It's a nice evening with her new community. A real salt of the earth kind of experience. And she enjoys it all with Lexa's arm resting loose around her waist for everyone to see.
It's not until the sun's fully set and the fireflies have already gone to bed that the music gets a little more soulful. A little more twangy. The kind that Clarke's only just grudgingly starting to appreciate. And when a particularly slow song starts playing she already knows exactly what's coming, the only surpise is that she wants to dance to it just as much.
There's just something about the way Lexa holds her when they dance to this kind of song.
The Christmas fairy lights twinkle overhead and the quiet chatter fades to the background as they sway together among the few other couples dancing. Lexa holding Clarke's hand against the steady thumping of her heart in her chest. Relaxing into the feel of Lexa's other hand rubbing circles on the small of her back, while she rests her cheek against the faded shoulder of Lexa's flannel.
Lexa had told her it used to be her dad's before he passed. That it always reminds her of watching him and her momma when they used to slow dance late at night in the cramped space of her childhood kitchen.
Clarke is kind of in love with running her fingers over its time-worn softness every time she wears it.
And there's really nothing for it when Lexa pulls back just far enough to look into her eyes at certain parts of the song. The way the green of her own has darkened to nothing but midnight and stars as they barely move, song almost forgotten, so lost in each other they are. The way those damns lips that can talk Clarke into enjoying so many things she always thought she'd never want to be a part of twitch just at the edges. As if they want nothing more than to sing the words just for her.
I love when you tell me that I'm pretty when I just wake up
And I love how you tease me when I'm moody, but it's never too much
I'm fallin' fast, but the truth is I'm not scared at all
You climbed my walls
So lay here beside me, just hold me and don't let go
This feeling I'm feeling is something I've never known
And I just can't take my eyes off you...
It just feels right to lay her head back down and nuzzle into the crook of Lexa's shoulder, pressing a barely-there kiss to her neck just to say, "I know. Don't be scared, baby... I feel it too."
#midwestern au#i want you to know FOR THE RECORD that I don't even generally care for Lady A#but ya got my ass with this one 🥴#clexa#anon
