There's this moment in Mark of Athena (I think), where Annabeth kind of internally laments that Percy doesn't listen to her when she talks about architecture. She describes his eyes glazing over etc etc. But there are several moments in the books where Percy recalls facts she told him and shares them with other, or moments where he sees a building he thinks is cool and thinks about her. And I just ... I need Annabeth to know that her best friend & boyfriend is hanging onto every word and even sharing her facts with other people.

on twitter, a viral thread started where people around the world shared their translations of “If I must die”, the last work of Dr Refaat Alareer also known as "the voice of Gaza". A beloved poet, teacher and life-long activist for Palestine, he was recently assassinated along with members of his extended family by a targeted Israeli air strike. His loss leaves a hole in the heart of palestinians all over the world.

Finished the game couple of days ago and had some thoughts I needed to process a little. Like. Yes.

So anyway I actually didn't plan this and just wanted to redraw some sprites to just make sure I understand how to draw Siffrin correctly (still working on that!)

What did I learn from this? How fun it it to draw on a canvas that literally doesn't let you draw with colors without some layer cheating when necessary. Never tried it.

I have no idea what was going on in my mind as I drew this. Feels like a fever dream of 'I want to sleep' at 4 am and 'Hm...' of thinking random things

after jason comes back to the league bruce finds out he’s in gotham but jason doesn’t want anything to do with him. bruce has no fucking clue what to do.

until.

he’s doing a short interview on a red carpet and the interviewer asks him who his fav gotham vigilante is. at first he’s just gonna give some random brucie wayne answer about batman being hot or something but then he has a lightbulb moment.

he then goes on to gush (for far longer than the interview should go on) about how he loves the red hood and what he’s doing for crime alley because that’s the one place wayne enterprises hasn’t been able to make an impact in. he also says he respects him even regardless of the killing because he understands his perspective that killing bad people stops them from hurting people in the future, even if bruce himself doesn’t think killing is right. the entire thing is slightly brucie, but far more bruce than the press generally sees

though he does end it by asking if anyone knows who the red hood’s stylist is because the white streak is just dashing

This is so embarrassing I’m literally an adult sitting in my adult college class for adults, half-listening to the lecture because I feel physically sick to my stomach thinking about the fact that Mabel and Dipper only go home alive and happy and together in one timeline. All the other Mabels and Dippers who had to spend the bus ride home alone, or died, or suffered a fate that kept them stuck in gravity falls. This is humiliating. I am an adult who has a job and goes to college and I’m trying not to puke over the non-canon fates of fictional characters. Somebody please just kill me I need to be put down

There are certain shippers in certain tags who seem intent on setting themselves up for a fall, and... oh god, I just can't be doing with it. Why can't shipping just be a fun wee bonus, a fun game of "what if?" on the side? Why do some people insist on making it the be-all and end-all of their enjoyment of the actual material, and building up their hopes on whether Character A and Character B kiss or not? (Especially when the source material isn't romance-focused!) The result is always the same, and it's always ugly, and no one ever seems to learn from it. I'm seriously considering blocking certain blogs, which I don't really want to do, because I do like reading some of the shippy meta, but fuck, I just can't be bothered going through this particular rodeo yet again.

Why does it matter if it's canon or not? People, that's why we do fic and art and all that in the first place - to explore the roads not taken in canon.

I'm seeing people saying things about feeling "anxious" about a series finale in case Ship X don't get together, or being "traumatised" because the actors of Ship Y have been saying in interviews, "We love the whole idea of people shipping these two, but we don't know if they're actually going to get together." And if this isn't just glibness, and they are genuinely feeling anxiety and trauma over these things... I'm sorry, but they need to stop. They need to get off the fucking computer and get some help, because it's not healthy to invest that much of your mental health in something that isn't real.
