I feel like comic writers and some fans have forgotten that Young Justice is mostly about the girls. The main storylines were about Secret/Greta, Cissie, and Anita. The boys were there but they had their own runs. Take Young Justice Dark Crisis, yeah it's all about the boys IF you only read the first 5 ish comics. After that it's either big comic events or about the girls. Really the girls are the main characters of Young Justice, the boys are there to draw people in.

I like a lot of the creatures in it; the showrunner is a really fantastic horror artist and it really comes through in the aesthetics of the show. I especially like this hand dragon, though there's a lot of other great designs:

As for the show on the whole, it's not bad but not really for me? Early on it really feels like it's schtick will be that it's a subversion of harry potter-esque stories, where the protagonist wants to go on an adventure similar to her favorite fantasy book but instead ends up hanging out with the "villain" (who's actually just othered)/the magic school turns out to be secretly oppressive/the world is kind of gross and spooky instead of clean and approachable... but as it goes along I think it ends up being a pretty by the books YA fantasy thing played mostly straight, and it isn't super interesting or funny or scary or anything besides that. Which admittedly was probably to its benefit, I think a lot of its popularity comes from it being this very tropeish and not-uncomfortable magic school/found family story that's actually queer, like I genuinely think this is hugely appealing to the average cartoon fan on twitter, but I'm just not personally into it in comparison to a lot of it's contemporaries

Caitlyn looking at the Hexgate design

When Caitlyn is looking at the Hexgate design, she zooms in and focuses on the vents. Then picks up Jinx’s broken monkey bomb and smirks.

The implication here is that they found the monkey bomb near the vents (as last we saw Jinx she blew it up) but no Jinx anywhere/no body hence Caitlyn suspecting that Jinx is alive and escaped through the vents.

Airship Foreshadowing

The final shot of the show is an airship leaving Piltover (right after the Caitvi scene too) which is an ominous final shot but it’s a callback to Powder in EP1 saying that “one day she is going to ride one of those things” further supporting the theory that she escaped through the vents and left Piltover via that specific airship.

Trail of Shimmer

After the explosion, you see a singular pink line spark out from it. It is likely that it’s a trail of shimmer which is Jinx escaping/moving out of the region.

Even When We’re Worlds Apart

This is more evidence that Jinx left Piltover through the airship.

The Will To Walk Away

Amanda mentioned that this was the only time we see Silco talking to Jinx in this season and they wanted to make it a powerful scene that told you what the whole point of the series was. The message behind this in the context of Jinx choosing to walk away/leave Piltover to break the cycle of death is basically her leaving to turn a new page/making a fresh start.

And so far, this is all I’ve got and I truly believe Jinx is alive (maybe we’ll get it confirmed eventually or maybe we’ll find out in a spinoff).

Sometimes I think about the fact that first living being to orbit the Earth couldn't understand what was happening to her, couldn't understand the history she was making. Laika wasn't a volunteer. The technology to bring her back alive didn't exist. They sent her up anyway. She died, scared and alone, in a malfunctioning spacecraft hastily built to meet a political deadline.

When her heart rate tripled from the stress of acceleration, did she understand the magnitude of what she was experiencing? When she saw the stars outside her little window, did she believe the world had gone dark? In her final hours, did she feel wonder, or just fear?

"The more time passes, the more I’m sorry about it. We shouldn’t have done it. We did not learn enough from this mission to justify the death of the dog. When you understand that you can’t bring back Laika, that she perishes out there, and that no one can bring her back…that is a very heavy feeling." Oleg G. Gazenko

For me, there's some small consolation, at least, in knowing that although her death was unnecessary and cruel, Laika will never be forgotten. I love you, Laika. May you find peace among the stars.
