I think there are therapeutic benefits to the house being kinda messy actually

#sometimes I can’t find things and it’s annoying and then i organize stuff #but for the life of me I cannot KEEP shit tidy #it is simply not going to happen #and after a year and a half w my current housemate I have mostly trained my brain out of #You Left The Book Press & Floss On The Coffee Table And She’s Secretly Fuming About It #but it’s very slow and very stressful #now you might be saying #why not clear the embroidery floss off the coffee table when you’re done #and the answer is if I do that I’ll never finish but also #I don’t know I do Not know #I just found a thing I drew for an assignment in college #it was ‘show everything you did yesterday’#there’s no dialogue but I have a sequence where a housemate has a lot of !!! pointing to dirty dishes #and then I make a face and do the dishes #and then I eat and watch tv #and she comes back and goes !!!! again because I’ve now left a new bowl out #and I drew it to be funny and it’s framed as being funny #but it made me kinda sad to look at it #I used to get in this huge stress spiral about cleaning #at one point I explained to my therapist that I could not clear my stuff out of the living room #until none of my housemates were home #because I did not want them to see me doing it #and I don’t think I realized how deranged that was until right now #which isn’t to say any housemates were ever unjustified #idk fam many thoughts tonight #not being afraid and or aware that everyone in your house is mad at you for admittedly justified reasons #that you are unable to fix to their satisfaction #is really relaxing #you don’t realize weight till it’s gone etc etc #my life

i hate when shows says something and then later on do the opposite and create plot holes.

unless it’s Red Dwarf. the show is inherently paradoxical it could have 42000 plot holes and i would defend them all.

I love that the "first look" picture that they use for Hermes is just him at the casino having the time of his godly life without a care in the world. Like yes, show him genuinely not caring about Luke and what Kronos is going through. Show him not caring about May. Show him just living it up while his son is going through tremendous torture. Spell it out plainly for the audience that Hermes just doesn’t care about Luke or any of his children. Make it more obvious! Let me watch the part of the fandom that swears up and down that Hermes is one of the best godly parents in the series and that Luke is just being a dramatic brat, burn! Please, it would make my year 😌

What really gets me with the whole watcher thing is that like, there are ways for them to have made this decision without it going so horribly wrong. Like they could have said "hey we want to be more independent and not rely on platforms like Patreon and YouTube as heavily as we currently do. So moving forward we will be moving all our Patreon content over to our new streaming platform. Content will be posted there a week/month earlier than YouTube, and we will still be posting our regular content on YouTube, but we hope that you will consider joining our new streaming platform in the future." and THEN, after a few months, they could have said "We're planning to make brand new shows that will be exclusive to our new platform, and we'll share the pilots of those shows on YouTube, but after that the rest of the episodes will only be available on that platform. All your favourite Watcher shows will still continue to be made and posted to YouTube, but reminder that they're available earlier on our streaming platform." Or something like that, that could have been a gradual change. People would have still probably been like "lol no" but they wouldn't be unsubscribing in droves.

Asking people to pay $6 a month for a new platform that doesn't have any content on it currently, and they only put out 1 video a week?? This was never going to work. People are willing to spend $5 on Patreon a month to support their favourite creators, but there's a big difference between supporting someone's Patreon and paying for a product they used to be able to get for free.

(Also why the fuck was the announcement video 14 minutes long?? I skipped to the very end to just see the actual announcement, did anyone even watch the whole sob story?)

#watcher #like i support Jenny Nicholson's patreon and get an hour long bonus vid ever month for $2 #and i have been considering subbing to Drop Out TV #but like Drop Out is a WAY bigger company with way more content that Watcher #and like the only thing I care about with Watcher is Shane and Ryan #and even then I probably only watch half of the stuff they post on YouTube #so like im defs not invested in them enough to pay for anything #and Im not going to pay money just to watch Steven eat ridiculously expensive food #he can pay for his own goddamn rich people food

i think the problem about the watcher situation is they literally only produce like 1-2 videos a week. if you have a channel like GMM or smosh that produce 5-6 videos a week, maybe the monthly paid subscription would be feasible? but even those channels put the vast majority of their content out for free and just offer an optional paid membership to get exclusive content. paying anywhere from $1.50 to $0.75 for one 20-40 minute video when actual streaming services offer you hours of content for around the same price just does not feel equal at all.
