You stared at the photo in front of you.
It looked… intimate. Too intimate.
The way you and Bucky were captured—faces close, eyes locked, his smirk lingering—it almost looked like you were about to kiss. Was this really what it looked like through the camera’s lens?
Because in reality…
Last night,
The moment had been peaceful—just two people enjoying a quiet night in the park. The earlier tension had faded, replaced by a rare sense of ease. City lights shimmered in the distance, and a soft breeze rustled through the trees.
Then, out of nowhere, Bucky spoke.
“There’s another way to relieve stress,” he said casually, stretching his arms behind his head. “Works for both the body and the mind. I’ve never tried it myself, but I’ve heard it’s 100% effective.”
You turned to him, intrigued. “What is it?”
Bucky smirked. “Sex.”
Your eyes widened.
Then— SLAP.
His head snapped slightly to the side, his cheek instantly stinging. He blinked, bringing a hand to his face. “Yup. I deserved that. That was way out of line.”
You shook your head, exhaling sharply. “Why did you have to ruin the moment?”
He grinned, rubbing his cheek. “But… this is the first time you’ve said ‘no’ today.” His eyes twinkled with amusement. “Even though it cost me my perfect cheeks.”
You let out a small pfft before shaking your head again. He was impossible.
Standing up, you dusted off your clothes. “Let’s go back.”
Bucky stretched before standing as well. “Yup.”
The two of you had walked side by side toward the car, the comfortable silence settling between you again. Neither of you noticed the faint click of a camera from the shadows.
So that’s what really happened.
But now, looking at the printed image in front of you, it told a completely different story. From an outsider’s point of view, it wasn’t just a lighthearted moment between two people—it looked like a couple teasing each other, laughing, touching. Even the slap appeared more like a playful caress. No wonder Selena had stormed in like she had caught you doing something illegal.
Still, her dramatic entrance was a bit much.
“You’re overreacting,” you said, crossing your arms.
Selena blinked, momentarily thrown off by your calmness.
“I was just worried,” she admitted, lowering her voice. “I don’t want you getting dragged into another scandal.”
You sighed, appreciating her concern but knowing there wasn’t much to worry about. “Thanks, Selena. But I think…” You glanced at Bucky, who had been leaning back against the counter, arms crossed, watching the exchange with an amused smirk. “I can manage.”
Selena hesitated, then let out a small breath. “I’m sorry. I overreacted. I’ll make sure this picture is wiped off the face of the Earth.”
Before you could respond, Bucky casually picked up the newspaper and studied the photo. “Why bury it? Your boss did hire me to be her boyfriend and protector, right?”
“NO!” Selena snapped, her eyes narrowing.
Selena’s voice rang through the apartment, sharp and full of conviction, making both you and Bucky flinch. She took a step closer to you, her gaze locked onto Bucky with pure disdain.
“She deserves someone so much better than you!” she snapped. “An A+ actor, a politician, a CEO—that is the kind of man on her level.”
Bucky simply raised his brows and made an exaggerated ‘O’ with his mouth, nodding like she had just given him the most profound revelation of his life. He didn’t bother rebuking her, which somehow made the whole exchange even more ridiculous.
You sighed. “Selena.”
“Yes?” she answered sweetly, her entire demeanor shifting as she looked at you, suddenly acting like a docile kitten.
“Be quiet.”
She clamped her lips shut immediately.
You crossed your arms. “Is there anything else you wanted to say? Besides barging into my apartment unannounced?”
Selena straightened, as if remembering why she was there in the first place. “Oh, right. I came to discuss your first live performance tomorrow.” She pulled out her tablet, her voice turning professional.
Bucky, who had been watching silently, noticed something different about you today. Your posture, the way you handled Selena—there was a newfound firmness in your tone, a quiet authority. He smirked to himself. Looks like you’re finally growing a backbone.
Selena continued, “So today, you’ll be heading to the studio for practice…”
As she spoke, you realized something strange—Bucky had been unusually quiet. For someone who always had a snarky comment, his silence was out of character. You glanced at him and found him lounging on the couch, headphones on, eyes closed as if he wasn’t even in the room.
When you finished discussing the details, he finally spoke without even looking at you. “I know you’ll break a leg tomorrow. Like always.”
You nodded in acknowledgment.
Selena, sensing that you weren’t going to say much else, checked the time and stood up. “I think I’ll head back to the company.”
“Alright,” you said simply, already leading her toward the door. You didn’t try to stop her, didn’t offer unnecessary pleasantries.
Just as you were about to close the door behind her, she suddenly stopped it with her hand.
“I’m sorry for overstepping today,” she said, her voice softer now. “It’s just… I only want the best for you.”
You studied her for a moment, then nodded. “Thank you, Selena. I know you mean well.”
Her expression brightened slightly, as if she was relieved to hear that.
“But,” you added, your voice firm, “remember, there are boundaries.”
Selena’s smile faltered, her fingers tightening on the doorframe for a fraction of a second. Then she forced a small, polite smile. “I see. See you tomorrow.”
“Be careful on your way home,” you said before finally closing the door.
Without your knowledge, Selena walked to the elevator, but just before the doors shut, she cast one last lingering glance at your door, her eyes unreadable.
The moment she was gone, Bucky removed his headphones with a dramatic sigh. “Wow. The air suddenly feels so much fresher.”
You rolled your eyes. “She’s not that bad.”
“She’s just…”
“A controlling freak?” he finished for you.
“Hey,” you protested. “She’s my new manager. I’ll give her time.”
Bucky scoffed, leaning back. “Yeah, sounds like my former handler. Kept an eagle eye on me 24/7, but when I was getting tortured, he conveniently looked the other way.”
You blinked. “Hold up. You keep dropping these absurd stories like they’re casual conversation.”
Bucky shrugged. “Everyone has a different life. Something about her does feel… off. I can see it.”
“I know her story,” you admitted. “She was bullied when she was younger. Then she saw me as an inspiration, someone to look up to. That’s why she worked so hard to get to where she is.”
Bucky let out a dry laugh. “Don’t be fooled by a sad backstory.” His eyes darkened slightly, memories flashing through his mind. “I’ve dealt with ‘tragic pasts’ before. Nearly got me killed a few times.”
You frowned, taking in his serious expression. Unlike before, when he always had a teasing remark ready, this time he meant every word.
And that made you hesitate. So you choose to end the conversations.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
You arrived at the studio hours before the show started. Rehearsals went smoothly—nothing out of the ordinary. The lighting crew adjusted their setups, the band warmed up, and the producers made sure everything was in place. You ran through your performance multiple times, fine-tuning every detail.
Now, the real show was about to begin.
Before your performance, you were invited for a brief interview with the show's two female hosts. You sat comfortably on the plush couch, your hands resting on your lap as they smiled warmly at you.
“So,” one of them started with a playful glint in her eyes, “before we get to your much-anticipated performance, let’s talk about these.”
A large screen behind you lit up, showing several photos—paparazzi shots of you and Bucky. In some, he was walking closely beside you. In others, he had his hand on your back, guiding you through a crowd. The last photo showed the two of you sitting at a park, deep in conversation.
The audience reacted instantly with curious murmurs and excited gasps. The other host smirked, leaning forward.
“So… should we start calling him your new boyfriend?” she teased, wiggling her eyebrows.
You blinked, caught off guard for a second, but then chuckled. “Well, we’re close.” Because it’s true. The two of you live together, and he stays close to protect you.
The moment the words left your lips, the hosts exchanged knowing glances before breaking into a fit of giggles. The audience followed, their excitement growing.
The hosts exchanged looks and giggled. “Ooooh,” one of them teased.
“Very close,” the other added, winking at the camera.
You let out a soft laugh, shaking your head. “Not like that.”
Bucky, who had been standing off to the side, watching from behind the cameras, let out a low chuckle at your response. But as his gaze drifted, he noticed Selena standing in front of him.
Something was off.
Her body was rigid, her shoulders squared too tightly, and her fists—clenched at her sides. She was trying to control it, but Bucky saw the slight tremor in her fingers. A flinch, a tension that had nothing to do with stage nerves.
His expression darkened slightly. She’s not just controlling, he realized. She’s obsessed.
Bucky’s jaw tightened, but he said nothing. Instead, he kept his focus on you, keeping a mental note of Selena’s reaction.
Back on stage, one of the hosts grinned, clearly enjoying the moment. “Alright, we won’t push you too much about that,” she said, winking at you. “But now, it’s time for what we’ve all been waiting for—your live performance!”
The audience clapped enthusiastically as you stood up, giving them a polite smile. You walked to the center of the stage, ready to sing—only to notice something was… off.
Your band was already in position, but—where was your guitarist?
Your stomach twisted slightly. He was here during rehearsals. Why was he missing now?
The murmurs behind the scenes grew louder as the production crew scrambled. You caught snippets of their frantic conversation.
“Where is he?”
“He was just here—what the hell happened?”
“Are we switching to playback?”
“We can, but it’ll look weird if the rest of the band is still standing there!”
You turned to Selena, expecting some kind of explanation, but she wasn’t even reacting. Unlike everyone else, who was in a state of panic, she stood off to the side, perfectly calm. Almost too calm.
Your brows furrowed. What the hell?
Then your eyes searched for Bucky. He had been watching earlier—where was he now?
Just as your pulse started to race, a sudden sound filled the air.
The familiar strum of a guitar.
You spun around, eyes widening.
Bucky was sitting on a stool, an electric guitar in his lap. His fingers moved effortlessly over the strings, playing the opening chords of your song. His expression was unreadable, but there was the slightest smirk tugging at his lips.
The entire room fell silent for a split second before the producer let out a relieved, “Go, go, go! Start now!”
You were still in shock. “Bucky…?”
Bucky tilted his head slightly and mouthed the word.
Sing.
You exhaled sharply, pushing aside the lingering shock, and gave a firm nod. Then, without missing a beat, you lifted your hand and signaled the band to start.
The drummer tapped his sticks together—one, two, three—and the music filled the studio.
It was flawless.
The band fell into rhythm effortlessly, as if you’d all rehearsed together a hundred times before. And Bucky? He played as though he had always been part of the band. His fingers moved seamlessly over the strings, his posture relaxed yet precise. Every chord, every transition—perfect.
You stepped toward the mic, the weight of the moment melting away as you sang.
The audience swayed, captivated. The hosts exchanged impressed glances. Even the production crew, who had been panicking moments ago, now stood in awe.
And through it all, Bucky played.
Like he belonged.
As the final note echoed through the studio, the audience erupted into applause. You lowered the mic, catching your breath, feeling the adrenaline pulse through your veins.
The two female hosts practically bounced toward you, their faces lit up with excitement.
“That was amazing!” one of them gushed, gripping your arm. “You absolutely killed it out there!”
The other nodded eagerly before her gaze flicked toward Bucky. She squinted, then suddenly gasped.
“Wait a second… isn’t he the guy from the photos?”
The first host’s eyes widened. “Oh my god, he is!”
You parted your lips to respond but hesitated.
Before you could say a word, Bucky simply smirked and winked at them.
The two women let out a dramatic squeal, laughing as they exchanged knowing glances. The audience chuckled, clearly entertained by the exchange.
You sighed, shaking your head, but you couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at your lips.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
After the show, you made your way back to the dressing room, still buzzing from the performance. Bucky followed, his usual calm demeanor in place.
As you reached for your water bottle, you turned to him, raising an eyebrow.
“I didn’t know you could play the guitar,” you said, genuinely surprised.
He leaned against the doorframe, crossing his arms. “You never asked.”
You narrowed your eyes at him. “Wait a minute… you were listening to my song earlier, weren’t you? When you had your headphones on?”
“To learn more about the client,” he replied smoothly, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
You huffed a small laugh, shaking your head. “Well, thank you. You were a great help.”
There was a brief moment of silence between you—one that felt different from before. A shift.
A newfound trust.
Bucky tilted his head slightly. “I did you a favor.”
You frowned. “Oh? So that’s how it is?”
“Ssh…” He pressed a finger to his lips, his tone playful but serious. “It’s for your own good.”
You rolled your eyes. “Fine. What is it?”
He met your gaze, his expression turning unreadable. Then, after a pause, he said it.
“Fire your manager.”

Part 1 | Part 2
————————————————————————
“You’re a magician babe, I look bad as fuck!” Eddie exclaims excitedly, checking himself out in the mirror while posing. They were filming very action-filled scenes this week, so you had to do a couple bruises and cuts on Eddie’s face. Let’s say he liked the results.
“Right? You’re looking too hot Eds, you should get beaten up more often.” You nod to him, jokingly fanning your face.
“Gladly, if you do the honors.” He raises his eyebrows flirtatiously.
“I don’t know.” You shrug “I can’t fathom harming your beautiful face.” You smile at him, giggling a little.
“Oh babe, I would so enjoy it if it came from you.” He switched to a seductive voice, holding in his laughter.
“I’m gonna throw up.” Steve mutters, sitting on his phone in the corner of the room.
It’s been a couple weeks since filming began, and if one thing’s for certain, it’s the fact that Steve and you hate each other.
After that amazing first impression, you tried to be the better person and let it go. But Steve didn’t do the same. He started doing little things to piss you off; things like talking on the phone the whole time and moving excessively, pointing out non-existent errors (“you missed a spot here”,”you made me look too pale”,”actually, I liked it better before, change it”…) and being extremely late on purpose so you’d have to rush and do it in 10 minutes. It was making you go crazy.
So, you decided to inconvenience him just as much. You took the cushion off his chair, made sure to poke him in the eye a couple times, blended his makeup excessively hard, turned the air conditioner too cold, dropped his phone and belongings off your desk “by accident” because they’re in the way… It was a full on war now.
The quips and rude talking continued, not even trying to conceal it in front of other castmates. It was a known fact: Filming starts at 9 am, you come with your lines learned, Steve and you can’t stand each other.
Eddie was a pleasant surprise. He had joined the cast as a new character, and you immediately hit it off. He loves joking around and play flirting with you, and to be honest, you’re thankful for the lightness and fun he brings to the trailer.
“If I see vomit on the floor, you’re cleaning the whole thing with a toothbrush.” You harden your voice, making sure he hears it.
“Sure, why don’t you lend me yours?” He smiles sarcastically.
“Oh, you don’t own one? My bad, I assumed you did basic hygiene.” You return the same fake smile.
He rolls his eyes, falling back on the chair “You know I do, I see you getting unnecessarily close to me. You have a smell kink or something?”
You narrow your eyes “Nah, I’ve become accustomed to your odor, I can even stand it now.” You put your hands on your hips, like you’re proud of yourself.
“Haha.” he singsongs, visibly upset by you saying that, as if his bathroom isn’t filled with multiple scented products, 10-steps-routines, and a vast collection of colognes (he’s still trying to find his signature fragrance, ok?) “Her obsession is becoming a problem Munson, she’s just so in love with me.” He smirks, raising his eyebrows cockily.
Eddie puts his hands up in surrender and looks away, as if not wanting to take part in this whole situation.
You frown, offended “I wouldn’t touch you with a ten foot pole, Steven.”
“How many times do I have to say my name’s not fucking Steven!” He throws his hands in the air.
“You know, I’d love to keep watching you guys fight, but Frankie has to do my hair, so I’ll leave you to it.” Eddie stands up from his chair and does a soldier salute.
“C’mon man, do I seriously have to be alone with her?” Steve pleads to him.
“Yup, I’ll give you that privilege.” Eddie winks at you and turns around to leave.
“Lucky me.” You mutter under your breath.
“I heard that!”
“That was the point.” You roll your eyes.
The trailer is filled with tense silence as soon as Eddie leaves. It’s been two weeks now filled with conversations like these. Most times you enjoy making him mad, it’s fun, and you have to admit it makes you feel alive. But it’s in times like these that you realize how little you know about each other, and how unbearable it feels to sit in quiet resentment, wondering what the next issue will be.
You’re putting concealer on his dark under eyes when he starts to scoff.
“What?” You spit.
He shrugs “That’s not how Angela did it.”
You step back and look at him with desdain “Well that’s too bad, cause she’s not your makeup artist, I am.”
“Trust me I know, I pray for you to get fired everyday..” he clenched his jaw, still not looking at you.
“What a coincidence! I pray for your character to get killed off, so we’re even.” You keep tapping the brush aggressively on his face.
He looks up at you, frowning, and grabs your wrist, taking your brush off of him “What is your problem?”
“My problem?” You raise your eyebrows incredulously “What’s YOUR problem? You started this with your “oh my dear Angela got sent home and they brought this ugly skank in her place” shit.”.
“Ok, first, I never said you were ugly, second, I said I was sorry for insinuating you slept your way here. Get over it.” He stated, signaling the one and two with his fingers.
He’s so fucking smug. You roll your eyes.
You were about to make another remark when you step back a second, remembering what he said. A slow smirk takes ahold of your face, and you point an accusatory finger at him “You think I’m pretty?”
He looks taken aback by your reaction, letting his hands fall to his thighs “That’s what you take from what I said?”
He looks annoyed, looking at you like you’re something he’d rather get rid off quickly. He raised a hand to point at your brush, and before you can say anything, he beats you to it “Whatever, just finish already so I can be gone.”
You poke your tongue into your cheek, a little butthurt that he didn’t play along with the rouse, and a little insecure that he didn’t answer your question “Yeah, ok.” You mutter.
The hateful banter bubble has popped, and now you stay quiet, the air feeling uncomfortable. You keep your eyes focused on your brush strokes, and Steve subtly looks at your face, trying to read you. He starts moving his leg up and down, and his hands grip the arms of the chair. He’s thinking of speaking when your phone goes off.
You frown, like you shouldn’t be getting that call, and quickly drop the brush on the table, muttering a soft “sorry” and beelining for your purse.
Steve can see your face dropping when you see who’s calling you, then you make a gesture to him as if asking him to wait one minute. He nods. “Mum? What’s wrong?” You whisper into the phone, trying to keep your voice low. “It’s- mum, no just- just lay down. I’ll be there before you know it.” You rub your forehead in a stressed manner, clenching and unclenching your first. It’s something Steve used to do when he talked to his parents too, one thing you seem to have in common. “Mom I’m at work I have to- I- yeah… I know mom.” Your shoulders drop “I’m hanging up ok? I’ll talk to you later.” He can still hear the faint muffled talking when you cut the line.
You go back to work, while Steve looks at you worriedly. The fight, passion and sass you usually sport has been drained out of you, and he doesn’t get why it bothers him so much.
He lightly taps your arm, trying to make you feel better in a way but not knowing how, since you both don’t really do this kinda stuff “Um, are you… are you ok?”
Your stare falls to his eyes, taking in his troubled expression. You shake off your uneasiness and try to put on a normal face “I’m good.”
“You sure?”
You hum your affirmation, still not looking at him.
He gets a little closer to inspect your face, and after a couple seconds he leans back and takes your hands, lowering them and holding them gently in his “Hey it’s still early, maybe you could… I don’t mind if you take a break, you know?” He looks briefly at the clock in the wall and looks back at you empathetically, giving you a tight smile.
You scowl at him, taking your hands away and letting his fall on his lap “Don’t pity me.”
You hate when this happens, he doesn’t even know the situation and he already feels bad for you. You’re supposed to be professional, you’re young for this job as it is, you don’t want to seen like a little kid that has to take “breaks” in between her already short work hours. You need to be taken seriously, you need to be looked at as an adult competent enough to do this job.
“Woah- I don’t-“ he holds his hands up in surrender, trying to explain but you cut him off.
“I am perfectly capable of doing this in the scheduled time.” You glower, rushing to pick up more product to work on him.
“I never said you weren’t.”
“But you implied it.” You raise your eyebrows, finishing with the base and getting the eyeshadow palette to make his skin look a little dirtier.
“No I didn’t! I just- geez I just wanted to be nice for a second, It won’t happen again… God.” He mutters the last part, exhaling loudly.
You clench your jaw and stay quiet for a second. He has a point.
You speak under your breath, not wanting to say he was right “Maybe I overreacted a little.”
“You think?” He breaks into a small smile, and neither of you speak after that, letting you get your work done.
After 5 more minutes of him looking at you or resting his eyes while you put his makeup on, you speak softly “That’s all.”
You step back, letting him look at himself in the mirror, checking out the results. He nods and gives you a polite smile “Thanks.”
You return it “Don’t thank me, I get paid for this.”
He scoffs at your joke, shaking his head. “You’re unbelievable.”
“I’ve been told.”
He stands up, dusting his jeans off the specks of setting powder that might’ve fallen before “Well… I’ll see you tomorrow.”.
You nod “See you tomorrow.” He does an awkward wave goodbye and turns to leave “Oh, and Steven?”
“My name’s not-“ Sigh “What?”
You try to stifle your smile “Your fly is open.”
His eyes go big and he panic checks himself, quickly reaching for the zipper of his jeans. His face turns into a scowl when he sees you were taking a piss out of him “You think you’re so funny…”
“I know I am.” You giggle “Goodbye Steven.” You usher him out.
He rolls his eyes but lets a tiny smile slip out “Sure, whatever.”
He’s gone before you know it. A genuine smile comes to your face, and you hate the fact that you can’t hold it in.
This doesn’t mean you like him, it doesn’t even mean you tolerate him, not in the slightest. But… maybe he’s not that bad.
Like a Peace treaty… for now at least.
———————————————————————
The Peace treaty is out the fucking window.
“Give. It. Back.”
“No.”
“I swear to God, If that thing is not on my palm in the next three seconds…” You hold your hand out, pinching between your eyes in exasperation.
“It won’t be until you admit that I’m a good actor!” Steve holds your phone above both of you, his arm straight so there’s no way you can reach it.
Steve and you getting along barely lasted a day. Before you knew it, you both found new ways to bring chaos into the trailer again. You guess that’s just how it’s always gonna be with both of you.
“I mean, you’re here aren’t you?” You wave around to signal the set they’re in.
“That’s not- that doesn’t mean anything!”
“I don’t know Steve, maybe you’re blowing this out of proportion.” Robin shrugs, happily eating your bag of salted almonds.
You’ve become pretty good friends with Robin. She’s alone most of the time she has to be here, so one day you saw her eating alone and invited her to eat with you. She hasn’t left your side since.
When Steve said you can’t get rid of her, he really meant it. She follows you everywhere when Steve’s away, and even when he is, she usually takes your side, which makes you like her even more than you already do. She gets your humor, and she also gets the way young women are treated in here, so it’s not a surprise that you bonded over bad-mouthing certain creepy producers. It’s nice to have a girl friend here. You didn’t know you needed one so much.
“What?” His eyebrows scrunch and he looks at Robin like she betrayed him “Robs! Bob Ross over here said I was a telenovela actor, I’m not a telenovela actor!”
“Alright, alright… Calm your tits Steven it was just a joke.” You try to take the phone out of his hand while he’s not looking, but still, no luck.
“It’s not a joke, it’s an insult to my work.” His shoulders slump while he still keeps your phone high up. You can hear a sad tone on his voice.
Robin looks pitiful now, stopping her chomp on your food to give you a “fix it” look.
Ok, maybe it was a sensitive subject.
You cross your arms taking a deep breath “You’re a good actor.” You mutter in one tone, giving in. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think you’ll be upset by my comment”.
He raises an eyebrow.
“I mean, I knew you’d be upset, but I was hoping towards a passive aggressive talk back, not for you to go all sad puppy.” You look around, trying to avoid his gaze.
He smiles a little connivingly and drops his hands down, handing you your phone “See? It wasn’t that hard, was it?”
“Don’t push it” you give him a pointed look, and he nods with a tight-lipped smile.
——————
You’re packing up your things a couple days later when you hear knocks on the trailer’s door.
“Cleaning lady!”
You smile recognizing the voice, even in its high-pitched form “Come in Eddie.”
He opens the door, walking in that laid back attitude he always has. Robin walks behind, rushing around him to sit next to you. A couple meters away, Steve slowly steps into the room.
“So,” Eddie claps his hands together, looking at you with an all-knowing smirk “We have a proposition.”
You raise your eyebrows skeptically “I love you Eds, but if this is you asking me to have an orgy with you guys, I’m gonna have to pass.”
He cackles at your response, shaking his head no “Damn babe, you really know how to let me down… But no, it’s not that. I got tickets to a very limited, very exclusive party in the valley tomorrow night, and you’re coming with us.” He makes a little dance, grinning from ear to ear.
Robin nods enthusiastically beside you.
You give them a fake smile “I don’t know guys, I’d love to but I’m not sure I’ll have the time.” Truly you did have the time, but you were worried about leaving your mom home alone. Your depressed, alcohol-dependent, messed-up mom.
It’s not something you talk about a lot, plus you hadn’t really made any friends in the city until now, so it hadn’t been an issue until today.
But you need to keep these friends, and telling them the extent of your family trauma is not really the best way to make them think you’re cool.
“Bffff, of course you do!” Eddie pushes your shoulder softly “C’mon, you just have to get all dolled up for me, and I’ll pick you up from wherever.”
You silently think about it, maybe one night away won’t make much of a difference.
“Pleaseeeeeee, you can’t leave me alone with these pigs.” Robin jokes about Eddie and Steve, the last one looking at you, also waiting on your answer.
He’s got his hands in his pockets. It’s like he’s trying to make it seem like he couldn’t care less, but you can see the way he’s staring. Does he want you to say yes?
Do you want him to want you to say yes?
You do. Why?
You surprise yourself with the answer “Sure, alright I’ll go.”
Eddie picks you up in a bear hug, and Robin takes you from him to hold you too, jumping around and babbling excitedly non-stop about how fun you’re gonna have and how long it’s been since she’s gone to a party like this.
Lifting your stare from Robin’s shoulder, you meet Steve’s eyes. He notices and nods at you, smiling genuinely.
You return it, and nod slightly to Robin, making a face as if saying “She’s a little crazy.”
He chuckles softly and shrugs his shoulders, raising his eyebrows as if saying “What can we do?”
And it’s in this moment, you think Steve Harrington is rubbing off on you. He’s still insufferable, don’t get me wrong, but… maybe, just maybe, you could get used to it.
At the same time, Steve stares at you thinking the same thing, wondering if maybe the warm feeling inside him is a signal of a blooming friendship.
Well, he’ll see just what that feeling is the following night, in that extravagant party, where he can’t seem to take his eyes off of you, you and the guy shamelessly flirting with you.

@sockdooe, This is the full original image:
Tumblr media
According to the Tumblr post I originally snagged it from, it's an early piece of promotional artwork, meant to depict Keith as the series's central character. Shiro is shoved into the background, presumably to illustrate that he was intended to fulfill a Doomed Mentor role.
#Correspondence.#sockdooe#Takashi Shirogane#Shiro#You're nothingness but shining and everywhere at once.#Allura#Hunk Garrett#Keith Kogane#Pidge Holt#Katie Holt#Lance McClain#Voltron: Legendary Defender#It IS a really nice piece with a ton of personality but I hate a lot of what it represents.#Specifically how Allura is just sort of thrown in there like an awkward Token Female when she's one of the most important people in the#entire series.#And of course the sidelining and eventual nerfing of Shiro because the writers simply HAD to get him out of the way to achieve their#desired team line-up.#Until they were delivered the ultimate reality check in the form of an order from the higher-ups that they couldn't permanently kill a#popular character who also happens to be a gay man#leaving them scrambling like the clowns they were to figure out how to reintegrate him into the story.#Then the voice actor for *their* 'Chosen One' had scheduling conflicts that made him unavailable to them for a significant chunk of time.#Call me petty but I call that karma.#If they hadn't been dead set on killing Shiro they could have avoided the entire ridiculous clone plot because he still would have been#a member of the team and easily able to step back into his previous role of Black Paladin had Steven Yeun's outside job commitments#unavoidably necessitated Keith being M.I.A. for a period.#But I expect too much of showrunners who couldn't handle having a disabled main lead and exploited his sexuality for internet brownie#points despite having every intention of killing him and keeping him dead.

While im on the topic, the seething hatred by a huge chunk of this fandom towards Vaggie is so baffling to me. I'm not saying I expected her to be popular. I'm not new to loving an unpopular/ignored character. But the way some of these people go out of their way to misinterpret her so badly to justify their very vocal hatred for her is just such a huge shock.

Randomly came across one of the trailers for HTTYD: THW and watching it I realized; What you learn in the movie, is something you'd already know if you watched the trailers.
The Hidden World itself is supposed to be main mystery of the story and it's reveal is meant to take your breath away — yet it was already shown in the marketing material.
The reason why the dragons left is not really explored beyond " We reduced them to instictual animals Toothless gets a girlfriend and they have to fight another bad guy." You'd think there will be some big plot twist, something that'd change the formula a bit. Like doing something else with the antagonist(s), instead of pretty much what was already done with previous one (Drago)? Why not have it so every movie has an unique take on it's antagonist, instead of "evil man abuses dragons pt. 2: electric boogaloo"? (I'm getting a little off-track here sorry).
Then there's the characters — the same amount of depth given to them in the trailer, is the same amount they get in the final product. I mean, the side characters get more scenes, but that's about it.
The biggest surprise I can think of would be some scenes/lines being altered or removed.

Shade is voiced by Andrew Francis and honestly it's pretty clear after looking it up because how Andrew Francis voices Shade and how Andrew Francis voices Cole sound incredibly similar. Shade's voice is just more raspy and the tiniest bit deeper I guess? Regardless they sound very similar

haikyu's dumpster batte is only going to be around 1 hour and 24 minutes, oh it's genuinely bokuakaover
#knowing that we're likely not going to get an ova too is painful <//3#m sorry to go off on a bit of a tangent#but I can't help but feel bitter that an actually good series with coherence and amazing characters just gets treated like this#and series like jjk and demon slayer get to have such good adaptations?#I don't hate both series btw as I watch them myself but even I have more criticisms in their story and charas compared to hq#jjk at this rate is being carried by satosugu shippers and popularity the story honestly is slowly losing substance :'DD#and it's disappointing such a series manages to get to have a consistent adaptation vs a good and inspiring story#which is why I can't help but feel <//3 whenever ppl rant about the jjk animation cause it's better than the hq treatment TvT#don't get me started on demon slayer I have mixed feelings about that series as well but I love it for what it's worth xD#and if people say the hq fandom is being bitter or biased isn't it justifiable?#a consistent and amazing narrative gets butchered me thinks people have a right to feel the way they do#naturally the fandom is not downplaying the efforts of the animators and voice actors but we also have a right to feel the way we do#we feel the way we do out of genuine love for a series that inspired and helped us so much#it's just so unfair TvT#m terribly sorry again for ranting and dropping negativity but I feel really disheartened about this news#and not simply cause ofc we won't get the bokuaka match#but also because my favorite series doesn't deserve this#eli rambles#bokuaka#haikyu#haikyuu#haikyu!!#hq

I like how whenever I watch AstralSpiff or Backseat play a new Poppy Chapter it’s pretty clear what game that they devs had been playing before hand lmao,, Chapter 4 being very clearly referencing to the Resident Evil 4 underground factory insect fights with how it was framed
#disco speaks!#honestly the most interesting chapter is still chapter 3 to me because there’s a consistent antagonist and it expounds on that story with#every step as well as actually showing the playcare and hour of joy#i don’t like the franchise because of what happened with the devs and the merch and NFTs and just general stuff with MOB#but like yeah. the more it digs down it just gets more vague and expansive to the point where it’s like where do the characters draw theline#like Doey hates the doctor but works with him but also hates Poppy more for also being abused but doesn’t hate Kissy or Mommy??#the prototype is probably not going to the live up to the hype because it’s been dragged out for too long#why the fuck is the player here? four chapters and over like I’ll give them like 15 hrs of playtime#(if even that) and there’s like been several antagonists with like catnap and the doctor being the most interesting and tied into the#big bad evil. also like I feel bad for the kids obviously but then the hour of joy where it’s like poppy are sad that ‘innocent’ people were#killed but also like is LIKE WHO DO WE EVEN CARE ABOUT??#the player who is just a witness to the thing and barely has a stake in this#why is kissy nice like sometimes having the audience questioning the story and lore to be interested#but it’s like security breach a moment of thought and it’s just like this game is built on really nothing but wanting to make a game#and I love security breach but that’s not how you write a story#there’s good parts of poppy playtime and security breach but they don’t make up for the lack of planning for either#like at least security breach came all at once and there’s been other games to set the precedent and premise#but to quote the stupid meme poppy playtime insists upon itself#and by the way im not talking shit about the fandom or anything like that cause like#I’d be a hypocrite and im still following the story and will watch the next chapter when it comes out. it still deserves critism#and there’s also suspension of disbelief to go with it and I do enjoy it sometimes#and there’s also respect for the artists and story writers and the coders who care about their work and craft#the sound designers and the voice actors and everyone in between#ughhh I don’t know

every now and then I rewatch the part of the h&l live concert in which they performed all the character themes and
absolutely wild how it's h.iroto, the mean quiet scary biker dude, who has a theme that sounds like this

#so that dotd rewrite is out and i have some thoughts on it but i wouldn't know where to put them.. maybe in here bc i don't actually feel -#- like making a whole ass text post. this is coming from me as criticism and not hate.. just some crit from one fan to another if you get m#SPOILERS AHEAD >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>#first off props to the team because this was obv a labor of love - 4 and a half years to make a feature long fan movie is hard work#and the animated stuff was a really nice touch and very commendable - you don't see them too often in big fanworks#in terms of the story well.. there are some things i like and some things that i don't (personally) again no hate#i'm aware this is a rewrite and boy howdy it IS a rewrite - though i am a bit sad that percy doesn't end up being the protagonist and it's#- thomas that has to play hero again.. like i kinda get it but what made the original dotd stand out was that percy was given the spotlight#so i spent an ungodly amount of time wondering when percy was gonna take charge or step into the main story to resolve the problem.. sigh#i liked that they tried to give norman more of a character bc a lot of characters do often get neglected in the series but it was kind of -#- hard to sell that for me? the twist in this rewrite was very creative and i do appreciate it but i guess it just ain't for me#“different” is ok and this is just one of many fan rewrites for this particular story#if there was something i enjoyed.. i guess the beginning was still kind of exciting because the set up was honestly like hype a bit#i liked that diesel and d10 actually got to interact face to face and there are clearer dynamics established for the diesels#and also. silverband's performances as d10 will always be fun he does a fantastic job voicing him (how d10 stole xmas will still be my fav)#my criticisms for this movie also derive from the pacing and the voice acting - i found it hard to try and understand tones sometimes -#- because the delivery felt so off.. like don't get me wrong not everyone in the fandom is a voice actor but if we're using static faces -#- for these fan works the delivery has to be a little more clear or else it'll sound like you're reading from a script.. sorry yall :"|#for the pacing i found it a bit hard to parse when some things were going on and how fast things were progressing#as well as the crashes.. that's also another thing bc i couldn't tell bc of the sfx and audio balancing - it could be better..#i wanna say. muffled voices do not substitute for a “far away”/off-screen voice bc i still can't hear it :“|#there were a lot of throwbacks and references to older thomas media/movies but some of them felt a little.. much?#if this is a dotd rewrite why are we getting some parallels with tatmr.. but i digress. at least they made diesel beef with duck a bit#there's a lot more i could say but i'm keeping those to myself. at the end of the day this fan movie was hard work for everyone involved#and you can tell some of the folks were having fun in there - props to them! i'm always glad to see more fan works in the community#we've come so far we're making feature length fan stories and rewrites that's crazy! i hope to see more in the future#fauxtrainpost.txt
