The thing about Star Trek TOS is that, well....

-the sets suck

-the effects suck

-most of the costumes suck

-like half the plots suck

And yet! Something about the script writing and the acting and the directing means that these guys have some of the best chemistry that has ever happened.

That's why we keep watching it. That's why we keep resurrecting these characters to see them do it again. That's why we have sixty years of fanfic about it.
