Sometimes it makes me so sad nobody went looking for Alastor after the battle. Sure, maybe they knew he was still alive from Husk, and that he likes his privacy , but your hotelier goes MIA after fighting an angel only the devil from the Bible can beat? And you don’t follow up on that?
“So long as I have all of you with me!” 🎶 she sings, notably NOT having everyone with her.
I really hope they bring this up in season 2. Does it get to Alastor that he is not considered part of the group? That nobody was thinking of him after all he did to get the hotel started?
Can Vox use this point to discredit the Hotel? “ The Hazbin Hotel, where everyone is welcome and everyone deserves a shot at redemption! Unless, of course, we deem you too far gone, in which case, you can go f*** yourself while we eat pancakes” ( side by side videos of Al beaten up and the crew recovering with Lucifer’s promised pancakes)
i ALSO think about this all the time. on a practical level it makes sense that we'd have to trim the finale down to something manageable, and really all they had time for at the very end was a resounding musical finish, which necessarily glosses over some loose ends like this, BUT. on a personal level i would've killed to see whether the hotel actually thought alastor was dead or not. because as soon as adam joins the fight, charlie says "alastor was supposed to handle him! oh, no, he must be—" MUST BE WHAT??? and then we simply never mention him again. they're all clearly delighted to see him (except lucifer and husk, of course) when he comes back, which makes me think they at least knew he was alive, but might be unaware he was seriously injured—it seems possible that they wouldn't really consider alastor could be genuinely harmed, after all the time he's spent building himself up as the terrifying guardian of the hotel that can't be fazed by anything. think blitzo's "he can get hurt?" moment in western energy: the radio demon can't be dead. he can't be hurt. he's alastor.
now, would alastor himself be bothered that they didn't look for him? one hundred percent. perhaps he tells himself good riddance, he didn't want to form genuine bonds with these people anyway, friendship makes you vulnerable, friendship invites intrusions on your life and privacy that you never asked for, etc. but the night before the battle he basically confessed to niffty that he's grown accustomed to the hotel gang and enjoys being around them. he's not antisocial, he's just maladjusted and values his independence, and it visibly stings when he learns that not a single overlord cares to investigate his disappearance at the meeting in ep 3. whether or not he would have told the truth or welcomed any line of questioning is irrelevant. it's the principle of the thing—he wants people to be curious about him, he likes to cultivate a mystery, he wants to be chased. and then... no one does.
so ohhh yes i think it gets under his skin, and he absolutely resents that it does. i'd also love for this to get brought up in s2, i think it could make for a scene where charlie pulls him aside, thanks him for helping them during the battle, and that they were worried about him in the aftermath, because i'd LOVE to see alastor 1) immediately brush this off and redirect her energy somewhere else, and 2) have a Moment of conflicted emotion about how that open statement of affection makes him feel before visibly crushing it to dust. repressed king
i'm very intrigued by the vox thing too. that'd be such an interesting tack for him to take, to discredit the hotel by trying to form a wedge between alastor and the hotel through a kind of warped sympathy. like "i'm not a fan of the guy either, but yeesh! sure does paint a picture, doesn't it?" which alastor would fucking hate, but can he really bring himself to disagree? SO delicious.

Hello! If you’re comfortable, could I request headcanons of a sinner gender neutral reader who’s in a polyamorous relationship with Lucifer and Adam? (Sfw please) Ty for your time, have a good day ^^
ADAMSAPPLE X READER HEADCANNONS
A/N: I am currently having a writing streak, where I just wanna keep writing…

The three of you officially meet in Eden, although you probably knew Lucifer long before the garden. Both of you being dreamers, you were curious about the humans in the mysterious garden. Lucifer probably goes first, just to explore and make sure the garden is safe, when he meets Lillith—and eventually Adam.
Lucifer makes a second trip to see his new friend again, this time bringing you down with him. He introduces you to Lillith, but gets carried away, and you sneak off. You explore the garden by yourself, and eventually stumble upon a human Adam. I can imagine that unlike Lillith, Adam doesn’t take kind to angels because he is jealous of Lucifer and Lillith, however he quickly warms up to you.
I can imagine that you and Adam are talking one day, and out of nowhere Lucifer shows up and says something like “Hello Adam, I see you’ve met MY friend.” He quickly whisks you away back to the ‘safety’ of heaven. Lucifer tells you that he doesn’t like Adam and strongly advises against seeing that ‘neanderthal’ again—even though he was doing the exact same thing with Lillith.
The next time the two of you visit Eden again, he keeps a close eye on you—yet you manage to slip out of his grasp once again, sneaking away to see Adam, who by this point has fallen head over heels in love with you (probably because you are the first person to have ever shown him any interest), and around the same time, Lucifer also figures out he has VERY strong romantic feelings for you. He probably confides in Lillith about what to do, scared of ruining your friendship. (Also I headcannon that Lillith gives very good and wise advice.)
She tells him to talk to Adam to see what he does, since you seem to like him so much, and that’s what he does…after some mild verbal threats of violence against Adam. Meanwhile, you are very conflicted—being in love with both Lucifer’s goofy demeanor and Adam’s sarcasm. You can’t decide which one you like better…
Eventually, when both Adam and Lucifer try to confess their love to you at the same time (only because Lucifer interrupted—thinking he was saving you from a ‘beast’) You tell them you can’t choose between them, and you love them both in different ways—and they both take it as a sort of rejection, but act on it differently. Lucifer is extremely heartbroken, not even finding it in his heart to visit Eden. Meanwhile, Adam is a temperamental mess. Lucifer visits earth one last time to say goodbye to Lillith, but runs into Adam instead. They both talk about how the so called rejection’ has hurt them and come up with a compromise—to share you.
Anyways, the three of you eventually end up dating, Adam and Lucifer actually tolerating and genuinely enjoying eachother’s presence for a while. Until the fall Here’s a fun twist, instead of Lillith falling, you do. Both you and Lucifer are cast into the firey inferno known as hell. You are both heartbroken, especially you, since you’ll never see Adam again. Nevertheless, the two of you quickly adapt to your new surroundings, become the rulers, and eventually have Charlie together.
Anyways, Lucifer is pretty pissed off at Adam trying to kill your daughter, and hurts him pretty badly—but gives him mercy because he knows that’s not only what you would want, but he can’t find it in his heart to kill the man. He is horrified when Niffty stabs Adam—and so are you, as you are probably watching the fight from one of the TV’s in your palace (Lucifer forced you to stay home, physically tying you down.) seeing your ex-lover being murdered live.
Eventually, Adam respawns magically—still in his angel form—but is trapped in hell because of Heaven’s refusal to come get him (or thinking he’s dead). One day, you and Lucifer are taking a walk through your garden (a replica of the Garden of Eden, which you two had spent so much time in eons prior), and find Adam passed out behind one of the bushes, bruised and bloody. *gasp*
After Lucifer uses his powers and Adam heals, the three of you have a family reunion of sorts and live happily ever after in hell…until you have to explain it to Charlie, who is very confused why her parents are now publicly dating the man who actively opposed her redemption plans and tried to kill her and her friends…

HH cast crushing on the reader 2/3
Forgot to mention in the previous post alastor will be excluded for this prompt. "But admin you write for him-" I tend to approach his writing with queer platonic ideas and while I do think this prompt can still work with that, idk how to put it into words
Characters: Lucifer, Adam, Lute, Emily, Velvette, Rosie
Notes: reader is GN, mostly focuses on canon characters, if your character isnt here check the other parts unless I dont write for them
CWs: none
LUCIFER
On one hand he wants to be with you. But on the other I feel he is still a bit hung up on Lilith. It's wouldn't be fair to you to pursue someone else when there's already someone else in his heart. He flipflops between approaching you and shutting you off. It's going to take a lot and you might have to ask him if there's something going on or if you did something wrong. He's crushed that you think you did something wrong. Baby steps with him, give him some time and the two of you could possibly make something. He finds himself sitting at his workspace making art (ducks) based off of you.
ADAM
Oh he is so open about it and it's kind of obnoxious. Well.. open isn't the right word. He's very up front with making sure you know that he thinks you're... desirable to put it lightly. But to actually be soft and vulnerable and say he wants to be with you for more than just wanting to bang you? It's going to be like pulling teeth to get an actual confession from him. He teases you a lot more, and makes comments about you and he leans into it if you're receptive. Just know that if you catch feelings first and he notices, he's going to hold it over your head and use it as ammo.
LUTE
Similar to Vaggie in the previous part, she's going to get... closed off. Unlike Vaggie, she's going to totally close herself off from you and try to bury herself deeper into her heavenly duties. She's hardwired and trained to devote herself to Heaven and she believes she doesn't have time for you. She almost feels like it's a betrayal to have these feelings in the first place. She won't confess, at least not out of looking for a relationship. I can see her doing it as a way to release her feelings in hopes that saying it out loud will somehow get rid of them. It's a little sad when you sit and think about it, but I do think with enough time and patience you two might be able to build something.
EMILY
Very giddy and very quick to telling you how she feels. She takes time out of her day to check in on you, as well as giving you something she knows you like or something that reminded her of you. Noticeably happier around you and perks up at the mere mention of your name. She always has time for you, she makes room in her schedule for you. She's a lot like Charlie in regard to her being a bit overbearing and clingy, but she really does mean well with her intentions! Just let her know if she needs to scale it back!
VELVETTE
I can totally see Velvette being the type to hide her feelings and translate to something else. Bonus points if you're a rival of hers in the industry, all the more reason for her to try to twist her feelings. I guess in a way you can call her a tsundere. Even through the meaner things she says, there are some teasing words slipped in here and there in your interactions that admittedly leave you feeling a little conflicted and confused. If you shut it down and be firm you miiiight get her to cut the act, but it is not a guarantee because she's grown to like the game.
ROSIE
She doesn't throw herself at your feet, she has some dignity. She is polite and kind towards you, though... but just because you've got her attention doesn't mean she's going to date you just yet. Think of it as her giving you a chance to show yourself off to her. She sometimes does small favors for you in town, even giving you some special privileges thanks to her status as an overlord. Waits for you to confess, if you're showing your signals as well. There will be subtle hints, though, even if she's not outright flirting with you... most of the time... she can't resist sometimes, even with the above stated. Really it just depends on the circumstance and how you are as a person.

Top Hazbin Hotel Songs so far: (order not super relevant because I jump a lot between my favorites so it’s hard to have a definitive ranking.)
(Note: ALL the songs were bops. There wasn’t a single one I disliked. I’m just going off which ones hit me the hardest and are now living in my head.)
1. Stayed Gone- this song is just so fucking catchy. The quick talking of Vox at the beginning is great- displaying confidence while also clearly overcompensating. The music is pretty repetitive at first but in a comforting way, being simple in terms of number of instruments. And then Al comes in and changes it up. I love the way these two argue- Al just roasting the hell out of Vox was great. The rivalry between these two is great and so entertaining to watch.
2. Loser Baby- so cute. Keith David’s voice was amazing. Loved Angel and Husk’s chemistry. Angel’s shock/annoyance at Husk at first is hilarious. Also songs like that and Crooked (from Helluva Boss) really are saying something’s we really don’t hear often enough: that things are a mess sometimes, but that doesn’t mean you’re alone. Both songs acknowledge the messy parts of the characters and both say “I see that, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care for you.” Plus it being in the same episode as Poison? Their messages complimented each other well and kind of closed the story for it.
3. Poison- Blake Roman is just- wow. No words. When this song came out a couple weeks ago I had it on repeat obsessively. We get to see Angel’s internal thoughts- his self-blaming for all the shit that’s happening, and how hopeless he feels. The emotion poured into this is astounding. It was amazing as a stand-alone song, and then the way the show integrated it in episode 4 made it hit even harder. It’s definitely A LOT- but sometimes that’s what makes such hard hitting songs, being so personal.
4. Hell is Forever- Alex Brightman killed it as always. I listened to this one on repeat dozens of times. It’s so insanely catchy. The rock(?) music that comes in to cut Charlie off? Also this song nails in the fact even more than Adam SUCKS. And while this is happening we are delivered the logic behind the angel’s choices- explicitly saying “yeah we don’t care. Murder is fun :)” AND are given the information about major conflict of season- that the extermination day for moved up.
5. Respectless- got brain worms from this. The way Velvette dropped in and changed the whole genre of the song was A W E S O M E. Her and Carmilla both SLAPPED. Also the line “I’m the backbone of the Vees” was just- I just loved the energy of the song. Major Six vibes. I’d love Lilli Cooper to sing more in the show!

lowkey, I do see their point about the power dynamic. Just because there hasn't been abuse of power, doesn't mean that the concern isn't valid, and that's why there's rules against that within the workplace! BUT I feel like both shattered and bittersweet have a bunch of instances in them where, if in real life, if I was a friend of the Listener and they told me some of these things Id be like 'gurl??'
For example, when boo goes alone up to a secluded camping spot to talk to a man they just met that very obviously wasn't happy with their presence upon first meeting, and looks like he could bench press 3 of alphonse.. id be like 'What happened to stranger danger?' (love Seth, but the stranger danger assemblies from elementary school really do stick lmao)
The mysterious CEO trope is very obviously a sexual fantasy, and I think we can all agree that it would not, and really should not fly in the real world, but this IS a fictional story that was originally built off of these tropes. And as far as I'm aware we're all adults here so, you do you boo! either way, I'm sure Rook could start their own thing with the talent they have any ways. Auron is more of a sad wet cat at this point, which is strangely fitting for a seemingly cold hearted crime boss lol
I think a larger point that I think goes well beyond our little corner of the internet is that we gotta trust folks to both understand the givens like "don't try this at home" and that ultimately you're either going to suspend your disbelief and play with the Legos you're given or be responsible with what you consume.
Also the difference between critiquing the art cs critiquing the individual characters is probably also a point to make. While Auron's choices are...not great, I think him being so desperate to experience the normalcy he missed out on be it with Charlie or Rook is interesting! I think feeling like Auron sucks or is a complicated, conflicted mess is probably a good thing.
And ultimately I think it's my job to create interesting scenarios and characters, and trust that folks realize the point isn't "oh this should happen and is good" or is co-signed and encouraged etc. but I also think if you peek past the first layers you'll find in most cases that what we're working with would likely lead to some positive moral conclusions regardless.
That's the fun part about fiction, we tell stories not in the sense that they should be 1:1 depictions of reality, but because we can exaggerate to extremes outside of the norm in order to magnify certain aspects of our human experiences that we want to dive deeper into.
Which sounds way too deep for a guy who voices pretty little lads, but you get my point.
I do try to be responsible with the self insert nature of things, because there's a lot of trust involved when someone gives you the keys to their proverbial car. But for cases such as "skewed power dynamic relationship" while i do try to avoid the potholes i personally don't love or feel comfortable with portraying, it is also like...a big neon sign you see in the first 2 minutes of experiencing the story so we have that unspoken agreement that like...yep that's what we're dealing with so if you are lactose intolerant this might not be the dairy farm you want to enter. 😂
That's why I'm so adamant about Boo being an open ended listener for example, they've been that way for so long it almost feels unfair to go AND THEN THEIR FAMILY HISTORY MATTERS, OR THEIR EVIL TWIN APPEARS, OR...etc. because you probably should have had clues about that 5 years ago at the introduction of the characters.
Anywho, that's all the yapping I've got in me, I've somehow managed to get even more sick dealing with my vertigo shit. 😵💫 So I hope this was all somewhat coherent. Thanks for reading. 💖

Hi!y.
I saw your post about wanting to write for hazbin and I was wondering if you could do a Lucifer x Angel!Reader who is Angel Dust’s sister? Like she had to come check on the hotel, If you’d like to add in another character maybe Adam and her were friends so when became a demon she went to visit him not knowing Angel was there, or she fell or something and they reunite and Lucifer falls in love at first sight?
Sorry if that’s a lot hahaha
I hope you’re having a wonderful day!
My Green Light
Lucifer Morningstar x Reader
2.2k words
After news of the first man being in Hell makes its way to heaven, a fellow winner makes their visitational descent. Not long after, a short king’s wings couldn’t help but flap.
Warnings: Cursing, mentions of sex, slight angst, fluff
A/N: Absolutely LOVE this one! This was also inspired by The Great Gatsby’s ‘My Green Light’ which is sang by our short king himself, unedited.
“It’s not fair, Sera!”
Sera looked at you, conflicted. It’s been weeks since the extermination and the council was a mess. “For the last time, Y/n,” the seraphim spoke sternly, “You are not permitted to go down to Hell. It is far too dangerous.”
You shook your head, “Adam is my friend, Sera! Hell is a terrible place, and a man like him needs some sort of reassurance.” She listened as you reasoned out, frowning. Adam wasn’t the best of angels, but he deserved a little company.
Eventually, she relented to your requests. She looked at your face and sighed, “I’ll talk to the council and see what I can do for you.” A flicker of hope grew brighter in you, “Thank you, Sera! Thank you!” She gave you a tired smile, “Keep in touch.”
With that, she left for her office. You smiled and made your way to Lute’s office, which also used to be Adam’s. “Lute,” you knocked once, “Lute?” The door creaked open.
The door swung open, revealing a very tired and disheveled looking Lute, “What?!” Her anger soon dissipated once she realized it was you, “Y/n, what’s wrong?” You offered her a sad smile, “I was talking with Sera, and we might have a chance to see Adam.” Lute’s attention was now on you, “Seriously? Like you’re not fucking with me?” You placed the upper pair of your arms on her shoulders as the lower pair grasped her hands softly, “I’m being serious! We’ll see Adam again and I can finally reunite with Anthony!”
Lute grimaced at the thought of your brother. She had told you about the meeting with the princess, only to reveal that your brother, Anthony, was in Hell. “The crazy porn freak?” she quirked a brow, causing you to sigh, “I suppose that’s one way to put it.”
“Y/n, you’re better off not meeting up with him. You’re too kind of a soul to even associate with sinners,” she reasoned. “No,” you shook your head, “I haven’t seen him in decades! You have the opportunity to see Adam, and I’ll take this as the opportunity to reconnect with family, Lute!” She watched as you pleaded and begged her.
Lute looked conflicted, “I don’t think I’m ready to even step foot in that shithole, Y/n. I mean, look at me,” she gestured to her missing arm, “They’ll eat me alive, and no doubt you, too.”
“Just this once,” you mumbled pathetically, “I’ll be careful.”
Lute frowned, “Fine, but no funny business. Last thing the council needs is a scandal between Hell and one of the purest souls in Heaven.” Your eyes lit up, jumping to wrap your arms around her, “Thank you, oh, thank you!”
You felt the tense in her shoulders relax, leaning into your touch as if it was the only comfort she’d had in days.
-
“Charlie!” Lucifer grinned as he burst through the doors. It had been days after they had finished the new hotel. “Dad,” Charlie greeted as she finished checking in a few sinners. Ever since the extrermination, sinners had been checking in left and right for a shot of redemption.
“I was thinking, we could build a duck—“ the king was interrupted by a groan. The royals turned to face the first man himself, who slouched onto one the couches. “What is this bullshit about ducks? It’s like fucking everyday with you. Do you do anything else other than being shit-faced, fucking losers?”
The king stiffened as he went to hit the man, only to be held back by his daughter, “Dad, no. Like everyone else, he deserves a second chance. Even if he doesn’t seem to be deserving of it,” she mumbled the last part but looked at her dad pleadingly. Lucifer’s shoulders relaxed as he sighed. He loved his daughter more than anything, and if this was how he could keep her happy? Then so be it.
“Fine, but don’t expect me to like him, sweetheart.”
Charlie smiled at her father’s words, “Thanks, dad. It means a lot that you’re here.” Lucifer smiled, “My pleasure, sweetheart.
The two embraced one another, only to be interrupted by loud straw sucking. Lucifer inhaled sharply as he glared at Adam. Adam, who drank a soda, looked at the two smugly, “Cut the sappy shit already. And don’t look at me like that, bitch.”
Before Lucifer could snap at him, the doors opened to reveal a very worn down Angel Dust. “Fuckin’ fuck, just make out already,” he groaned as he made his way to the bar. The two rivals stopped to stare at the spider in disbelief. “What?” the spider shrugged, “Come on, I can’t be the only one feelin’ the tension. Nothing a little hate-fucking can’t fix. Get me my usual, Whiskers,” he nodded to Husk who grumbled in response.
The two blinked before pushing away from each other.
“Oh, fuck no!”
“Not with that fucking shit-bag!”
The porn demon quirked a brow, “Just sayin’ the possible inevitable.” He turned to grab his drink and enjoy himself.
Adam and Lucifer made eye contact and grimaced. “Get the fuck out my way,” the first man grumbled as he walked towards his room. “I will!” the short king huffed and crossed his arms. “Can you believe him, Char-Char? Absolutely disgusting sinner behavior…” he trailed off as he watched her hug Vaggie. He looked at his wedding ring and frowned. “What was that, dad?” Charlie looked towards her father. Lucifer sadly smiled and shook his head, “Don’t worry about it. I’ll see you later?” His daughter smiled sympathetically, “Are you sure?”
He nodded, “I’m sure.”
With that, he made his way up to his personal suite. He leaned on the balcony, staring up at Hell’s red sky. He looked back down at his ring finger, scowling. He grasped the ring and pulled it off swiftly. He pulled his hand back and threw it forward, only to keep his fist closed with the ring inside. He just couldn’t let her go. He led his closed hand to his chest, cradling it.
His moment of despair was quickly interrupted by a bright light in Hell’s red skies. Lucifer’s eyes widened and squinted at the light source. He thought nothing much of it. What could this mysterious light have possibly done for him? It probably was another lighthouse, or was it a signal flare? Nevertheless, he was drawn in, intrigued by it. The light suddenly beamed down to the ground, a faint zip roaring through the air. The king of Hell watched as the beam made contact with the ground right in front of the hotel with a crack. Debris surrounded the area, causing residents, including himself, to cough as it entered their lungs.
“What in the ever loving duck?” he questioned and coughed.
As the air cleared, a faint glow emitting through the dust caught him off-guard. He watched as the dust revealed what he could only describe as a work of art. Stunning, he thought, Absolutely stunning. He observed from his balcony, watching as your eyes looked around in awe and anticipation. He could feel your presence drawing him in. You looked up to make eye contact with the fallen angel briefly, sending him a smile before entering the building.
Without hesitation, he pocketed the ring and made his way down to the lobby. He shoved against sinners in his way, eager to see you again.
-
“Adam!” You squealed as you made your way to the man, jumping to hug him. You chuckled as he grumbled in response, inevitably hugging you back. “Bitch, what the fuck are you doing here? Aren’t you a little too sensitive for a place like this?” he chuckled as he roughed your hair up despite your protests.
“I am not sensitive, Adam,” you grinned, “It’s good to see you haven’t changed one bit.” He scoffed, “Hell isn’t gonna fucking break me, bitch. I’m no pussy.” You rolled your eyes, “Yeah, yeah, whatever.” He flicked your forehead, causing you to yelp, “Don’t fucking roll your eyes at me, bitch.”
“Watch me,” you stuck your tongue out at him.
He chuckled at your antiques, leading you to sit down on one of the couches, “How’s up there without me? Has everything gone downhill since the original dick is gone?” You sent him a soft smile, “Well, I wouldn’t say downhill,” he quirked a brow as you chuckled nervously under his gaze, “It just…hasn’t been the same without you.” He sprouted a grin, “Of course, bitch! Without the dickmaster, heaven is just as shitty!” You scoffed and hit his arm, “Ego!’ He yelped, “Don’t hit me, bitch! You do realize I am the original dick, right?” he whined. “Let me be sympathetic in peace,” you huffed.
“Whatever,” he muttered gingerly. A few seconds went by before he spoke up again, “So how is she?” You cocked your head, “She?” Adam sat up, looking serious, “Lute. How is she?” Your eyes softened, “She’s…she could be better.” Adam nodded, “And her,” he hesitated, “her arm?” You sent a reassuring smile, “Healing. Trust me, Adam. She’s getting better as we speak. She just misses you.” Adam lightly smiled at the thought, “Will she come and visit?” You paused to think, “When she’s ready.” He nodded and leaned back. You watched this with a soft smile, “You really care about her, don’t you?” Adam looked at you with sad eyes, “I do. I just wish I could’ve shown it better.” You pat his back gently, “I’m sure she already knows.” You two smiled at each other, only to be interrupted by the doors opening.
”I need a strong one, Husker,” a familiar voice groaned, causing you to sit up. Adam, who noticed your sudden pique of interest, sent you an encouraging smile, “Go and find out for yourself, bitch.” You smiled back before nervously standing up from the couch.
“Anotha one, Whiskers!” Angel called out, grinning at the grumbling feline. You made your way over to the bar, legs wobbly.
“Anthony?”
You watched as the sinner stiffened at your voice, He turned to face you with doubt and recognition, “Y/n, sei davvero tu? (Is it really you?)” You wrapped your arms around you, nervous, “Si fratello. Sono io, (Yes, brother. It’s me,)” your eyes looked at him with fondness.
Angel leaped from his seat and pulled you into him, whispering soft thank you’s and praises, “It’s been too long, sweets.” You wrapped your arms around him in return, “Way too long,” you mumbled against him. He pulled away and examined you, “Ya look just like me, just a little more modest,” he chuckled weakly, causing you to laugh too. “We’re family aren’t we?” Angel’s eyes widened at the mention of family, “Speaking of family, how are Ma and Molly?” he worried. “Mama and Molly are quite alright. They’ve been a little shaken up after they heard about sinner exterminations, thinking you’d been…” you trailed off as your shoulders slumped.
“Well, I’m here, sweets. I’m not double-dead quite just yet,” he chuckled as he hugged you once more. “How long till you go back?” he asked, realization dawning on him. “A few days. A week at most,” you frowned as sadness crept its way back into your chest. Angel frowned at the thought but shook it off, “Then I suppose we make the most of your time here,” he started to smile. You smiled back, clinging onto him, “What first?”
-
The two of you spent the whole day catching up with one another, laughing, crying, and reminiscing in each other’s presence. “And then I said,” he paused and got into character, “‘Fuck off, Val,” and walked away like t’was no one’s business.” The both of you giggled at his story, “Very brave of you, Tony. Always standing up for yourself without a care in the world,” you giggled and leaned on his shoulder, “To think your boss has the nerve to do this to you knowing you're under her royal highness’ jurisdiction is quite courageous.” Angel scoffed, “No kiddin’,” he clunk both your glasses together before downing his drink.
Both your laughter echoed throughout the hotel’s lobby. Unbeknownst to you, a certain royal stopped to stare. Lucifer hid behind a pillar, admiring how you lit up the room. “Heya, short king,” he snapped out of his thoughts when Angel spoke up behind him. He turned to see the spider holding another bottle of alcohol, “HEY—hi, fuck, ahem! Hello, hello, Angel,” he squeaked and stuttered, “Was just looking over the lounge, checking if everything was in order—“ Angel held a hand up to the king, “You got hots for my sister?” An awkward silence fell between the two.
Lucifer gulped and eventually nodded, “She’s quite the angel.”
The porn star snickered, “That’s Y/n to ya,” he looked and waved at you, smiling when you waved back. “Ya know,” Angel started as he looked back at the king, “She can do ya good. Help ya move on from whatever happened. Stop staying on red when you’ve got a green light right there!” Lucifer’s eyes widened as he looked back at you. The two of you made eye contact as you waved shyly. Smiling, he waved back before glancing back at Angel, “You really think she’d let me?”
Angel let out a laugh, “I know my sister like I know my hair. The question is would you let her?” The spider snickered and gave the king a soft nudge before heading back over to you.
Lucifer looked down and fished into his pocket, opening his palm to find his wedding ring. He looked back at you and smiled softly, “Maybe I could.
A/N: A part 2 is in the works!

My Hazbin Hotel Critiques:
Note: These are my personal opinions, I'm not looking for conflict.
Not enough eps, I think with this kind of escalation in plot it should of had 12, at the very least, it would have left far more time to develop Angel Dusts character.
It had a three season story squeezed into 8 eps it was mad, if the battle had taken place three seasons in, the reveal of Vaggie being an angel, the fear of war with Heaven and the death of Sir Pentious would have meant so much more to the audience.
To ethicise Angel's deeply ingrained hyper sexual behaviour, it should, in my mind have been shown more so how uncomfortable he makes the other staff especially Husk.
Charlie got over Vaggie being an angel far to soon, imagine the emotional conflict if they had actually broken up, or atleast separated, If Charlie have had an episode or two of her going through the motions of forgiveness, Vaggie being cast out the hotel in shame Alastor using it as a means of emotional manipulation to grow closer to her, praying on her vulnerability and THEN he swoops in and makes the deal, showing again Alasor is a grifter and will take advantage of someone if he feel's he can benefit.
The Friendship between Lute and Adam should have had atleast three scenes dedicated to it, they are bad people but to make then good characters in the sense that they have depth would have been great for the audience, for atleast some emotional reaction for Lute, yes Adam is a twat who deserved to die, but just a pang of sadness for Lute would have been great.
too much swearing, it's excessive and cheesy, instead of Alastor saying ''Im about to end your fucking life'' he could have just said ''I am about to end your LIFE" with a deep growling kinda thing on 'life' of instead of Vaggie saying ''Shitass'' (A terrible sweat word) she could have just not said that it didn't add any enthesis on her conversation with Alasor.

So here’s a few general theories I’ve got on both Eve and Roo, their role in the story, as well as at least one rather bonkers theory on how they/she are connected to Charlie.
Which means to begin with, we’re going to make the entirely logical step to talk about Rosie.
Because as I said in a couple posts after the finale, I think Rosie is actually Eve.
Or rather, as I now think, Rosie is an ASPECT of Eve.
To begin with, just about everything Rosie does with Charlie in Episode 7 to me just kinda SCREAMS ‘I’m actually a mysterious relative/family friend you never knew about.’ From the way she immediately goes massively out of her way to help Charlie, not just with the more overt problem of the impending extermination, but also her more personal relationship problems, not to mention little touches like how she insists on Charlie calling her auntie’. As well as making a number of small references that could very easily be more direct foreshadowing:
Rosie’s whole ‘first husband’ comment could easily be a dig at Adam, plus her being a cannibal would make for a pretty clever callback to the visual joke of Adam eating ribs in the first episode.

We also have Rosie’s talk with Charlie about her problems with Vaggie, which feel especially relevant in light of the reveal that Eve seems to have had some kind of romance with Lucifer and Lilith. Rosie’s comments to Charlie clearly hint that she has her own regrets towards a failed relationship, which if she is Eve could easily hint at whatever went down between her, Lilith and Lucifer. Not to mention, given the CLEAR parallels that Charlie and Vaggie have to Lucifer and Lilith, it would be all too fitting if it turned out that Eve was the one helping to mend their relationship.
There’s also one other visual detail about Rosie… but more on that later.
So how does this tie back to Roo?
Well you know how I said I think Rosie is an aspect or part of Eve?
I think Roo is the OTHER part of Eve.
As in, I think that Roo and Rosie (hey, look at those similar names) are each the two parts of Eve that split apart when she became the ‘Root of All Evil’.
When you get down to it, I think Roo as a character and her role in the story as a whole is to be a subversive exploration of the idea of the scapegoat and Christian ideas/fixation on guilt and penance. Roo might actually BE this big, terrible ‘Root of All Evil’, ‘Embodiment of Sin’, ‘Unfettered Force of Chaos’, ‘Heart of Hell itself’ ultimate big-bad of the show that much of the fandom is assuming…
But only because she/Eve chose this role out of her own guilt and self-loathing. Eve only believes that she’s this terrible, irredeemable person at the root of all the evils of mankind, and has thus chosen to embody that.
And I think in the process of becoming Roo, this being of pure evil, Eve tried (emphasis on tried) to split off all the ‘good’ within her. Which in turn became Rosie. Alternatively, Rosie could have been deliberately split off from Roo to act as her agent, but may have become self-aware enough that she’s trying to stop/save Roo, hence her going out of her way to help Charlie. And of course this would also neatly explain her friendship with Alastor, himself likely also an agent of Roo.
Which in turn is going to be the crux of her conflict with Charlie, and the ultimate villain redemption of the story. Like of course we’re going to find out about Roo’s big, terrible villainous plots to perhaps corrupt humanity or subsume all of Hell or destroy Heaven and how she’s likely the one pulling Alastor’s strings and has maybe had him essentially ‘feeding her’ Overlords to increase her power and how she’s likely the cause of Lilith’s disappearing seven years ago and ending up in Heaven and all kinds of other things our heroes will have to fight against.
Until we get to our big, final confrontation with Roo and both we and Charlie discover that this terrible being of pure evil is in fact this traumatized, grief-stricken woman utterly consumed by guilt and self-loathing. The one person who, more than anyone else, NEEDS the help and redemption that Charlie has spent the whole show trying to offer others.
And also might be Charlie’s other mom.
Yeah, it’s bonkers theory time :D
So back during the rough… twenty to thirty minutes or so between finishing Episode 7 and seeing the post-credits scene in Episode 8, I was VERY sure that Rosie was actually Lilith in disguise (as you can see from this rather amusing post/reblog :D), for basically all the reason I listed above about why Rosie feels like an in-disguise Eve,

But ALSO because of Rosie’s cheek blush-marks that look CURIOUSLY SIMILAR to Charlie’s own. And if you’ve read any of my numerous Rosebird Parents theory posts, you can imagine I immediately latched onto that.
However! This is NOT a theory that Eve is somehow Charlie’s ‘real mom’. That is stupid and I will not hear Lilith slander in this house. Note instead that I said that Eve might be Charlie’s OTHER mom…
Basically I think Charlie has three parents thanks to Lucifer, Lilith and Eve each actually being some variety of functionally intersex due to wacky angel/demon/primordial-human physiology. And the three of them conceived Charlie Gilgamesh-style via Lilith and Eve knocking up Lucifer.
Hey, I want this show to get WEIRD, okay?
Even just speaking generally, we’re already got more or less soft-confirmation that SOMETHING was going on between Eve, Lilith and Lucifer, and that Eve seemed to have specifically left Adam for Lucifer and Lilith. So I’d say it’s not at all a stretch to think that Lilith, Lucifer and Eve will turn out to be a tragic, broken polycule driven apart by each of their baggage and trauma.
Or that a major aspect of the show will end up being about Charlie (with Vaggie’s (and possibly Emily’s…) help) working to get her parents back together.
In fact, I can already imagine what a suitably cute/heartwarming/feelsy reunion Eve could have with Lucifer and Lilith:
Eve, having just been freed from her self-imposed prison/punishment by Charlie, is about to launch into a guilt-and-regret-laden spiel about how she knows how they must hate her and how she doesn’t deserve them…
Only for Lucifer gives Eve a big cute hug.
And then Lilith gives Eve a Big Damn Kiss XD
Simply put, I think it’s pretty clear that Hazbin Hotel is NOT the kind of the show to just go and make a woman the source of all the evil and sin and bad of the world and seemingly the ultimate big bad and NOT examine, interrogate and SUBVERT THE EVERLIVING HELL out of that concept/trope.

I can have Yandere Alastor dying for Adam and saving the reader... And because he said he went to heaven and became an angel... ( that would be funny Alastor angel )... What would happen?
Go to MASTERLIST for the works. This ask is for {Unwanted Souls}.
Pretty sure Alastor would just die and not go to heaven cause it's more like Sir Pentious' scene. Alastor would have regretted that he'll be leaving you, and while self-sacrifice can put him in Heaven as a redeeming element, it's not enough.
BUT! Let's say he got into Heaven. What happens then?
Let's start with your side. Previously, there's a recently posted ask about Reader being powerful, as noted by Lucifer. Seeing Alastor's death and final protection to you, you'd definitely unleash hell on Adam and fatally injure him before you enter your slumber mode (then Charlie and Lucifer take over the battle).
You are still brought to the hotel and nursed back to health, but it's Lucifer that does it and your process is speed up because he knows what to do and there's no Alastor to slow it down. When you wake up, the hotel members all question you. You just replay what happened before you slept. Right, Alastor's dead. You're very very tempted to follow suit, but Lucifer stopped you. What you did in the end was went back home to try and forget about it all. But your home was filled with reminders of Alastor and your moments with him.
Unable to bear with it, you asked if Lucifer could arrange somewhere else for you. He did and you moved, not without casting charms to keep the place off limits to other demons from the within. Then started your journey to drowning out your sorrow without Alastor's presence. This was what you meant when you shouldn't have fallen for him. The back of your mind laughed at you.
With Alastor. He met with his mother. Can you believe it? He talked things out with her, and caught up with her and his life. When it came to the topic of love came up, Alastor was knocked with a painful headache.
There's a theory (that I think can be applied here) that the souls in Heaven forget their lives before entering into Heaven. The moment Alastor was redeemed and appeared in Heaven, he forgot everything, he forgot you.
The headache was a distortion or disruption done by your powers. You held his soul, secretly, you have given him Perfect Memory when it came to your memories with him after accepting your feelings towards him. Now he's conflicted because Heaven's power is battling against yours.
Alastor's wings brought him the closest he could to Hell, a portal that was only accessed to specific individuals. The closer to Hell he was, the more he remembered and vividly felt that possessiveness and obsessiveness he had towards you. It was all coming back to him.
Let's say when he remembers you, he's grateful and prideful that you secretly protected him against Heaven's lies and attempted to take him from you or you from him. This level of care and attention shows you want him in your life! He has to return to you now!
"If that love of yours means everything to you, you should go." His mother advised, she only wanted his happiness, it didn't matter if he was there with her or if she wasn't the cause of his happiness. She truly is an angel, isn't she?
With his new memories, Alastor signed up as an exterminator, raising in ranks, he became one of the leaders that could go down to Hell. He could feel it, the long-awaited reunion between him and you.
Will you like his new look? Or prefer his old one? He'll fall and return to you. He will. He definitely will. Nothing will separate you two.
Nothing!

“HOW LONG.”
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | ALT ENDING
Masterlist

Hello, so this is the Alt ending so everyone please know that this is LUCIFERS ENDING! Adams is in part three!
—
Court went absolutely terrible. Adam had basically trashed the whole idea. Adam also had a huge influence on the court.
I felt truly sorry for Charlie, and Emily. I had thought Sera told Emily, but apparently not. Let's just say, the whole session could have gone better.
"I'm so sorry Charlie." We were back in the heaven hotel. We had a few more hours before we had to leave. "It's okay, not your fault." Her smile was shaky. "Do you think I could have some time alone?" | smiled gently at her. "Of course darling, get some rest." I closed the door and looked up to see Lucifer. He looked conflicted, confused, and concerned. The three C's.
" knew I shouldn't have set up this meeting. They crushed her!" We walked back into our own hotel room. "She's a strong girl Luce. She'll be okay. I promise." And she will be. Eventually.
Lucifer smiled at me, but the it faltered. The conflict-ion coming back into his face.
*I saw Lilith." | nodded my head and gestured for him to continue. “|-I don't know anymore. I like you." He sat down on the bed putting his face in his hands. "Like really really like you." | sat on the floor in front of him. Moving his hands away to look at his crimson eyes. "I like you too.”
His eyes squeeze shut almost as if his next words hurt him to say. "But I made a vow. That no matter what she and I would always have one another. Even if those words did hurt him, I was positive it hurt me more.
"Your going back to her" A tear fell down my face. Lucifer opened his eyes again and brushed the said tear aside with his smooth hand.
"What kind of man would I be if I didn't keep my word to her? What kind of example would I be telling my daughter?" My heart was hurting.m but I understood even if it did hurt.
"Do you love her. My voice breaking. I never even met her and yet it felt like she took away all the ones I loved. "Yes." Fuck.
"Do you love me?" Another tear fell. This time instead of his hand brushing it away it was his lips. “Yes.”
(Where the ALT ENDING begins.)
I shook my head. He couldn’t tell me that. Not when he’s going to her. Not when I loved him.
“I understand.” I understood but fuck why did this hurt so bad then? “I have to go to her now.” He stood and looked to the door. “She’s coming back to hell with us.” I stood as well and nodded at him.
He walked across the room. I heard the door open but I didn’t look to see. To busy staring at the wall in shock, I’m heartache, and in longing.
The door closed and I heard two words come from Lucifer. “Fuck it.”
He walked across the room to me and when I turned to ask what he leaned me down to his lips.
He was kissing me, hard.
My lipstick started to stain his lips and he spoke in between when our mouth would disconnect.
“The example—“
Another kiss.
“I want to set—“
A kiss.
“Is for my daughter—“
A kiss.
“To choose the person their heart actually belongs too.”
A final kiss. Our hand started to roam all over each other.
—
Lilith ended up staying in heaven. I had convinced Adam to call off the extermination.
Adam would try and win me back but I always said no. I couldn’t ever trust him again.
I would always love Adam. And if he ever needed my help with something I would give the help he needed.
But with my son on the way I wanted to set an example to him.
To be with the person his heart truly belongs too, and not to be with the person they gave vows to, that no longer have no meaning.
I wore my silver band that Adam gave me around my finger.
Lucifer wore his gold band Lilith gave to him, around his finger.
We never married, we didn’t need too. We were happy as we could ever be.
—
AND THATS A WRAP! If you have any ideas don’t be afraid to request. 💛

Charlie’s anger over the exterminations should partially be directed towards her father, Lucifer, instead of completely at angels, because he enabled genocide for centuries. He’s the king of Hell, who’s powerful enough to defeat Adam, an angel, proving he’s stronger than him.
However, Lucifer didn’t try to stop the exterminations or help his citizens, but we’re supposed to ignore this fact and instead focus on how he’s a depressed, silly, lonely man whose wife left and blame everything entirely on Heaven.
Honestly, Charlie being angry at her father for not doing anything against the exterminations for centuries could've been the setup for some interesting conflict between them. You have one character who cares too little to do anything and another who cares heavily and wants to do everything to help, causing their ideas of how Hell should be to clash.
Oh, what we could've had with Charlie and Lucifer's relationship.

Got inspired to write this from @cakerybakery post !! Love them
Lucifer couldn’t help himself from the mixture of dreaded feelings he was experiencing at that moment, unable to sleep after realizing his clone and… Adam, were.. they had something. It was weird to even acknowledge it but how could you not? When you caught the enemy being in the arms of your clone sharing a passionate kiss. It was like your world froze at that exact point.
He didn’t know his clones could get to that position of consciousness, until he drained all the images, memories and thoughts his clone gave him after being evaporated out from existence. He didn’t think… it would feel. It felt so much during that time he was given the task to get Adam to safety and be healed. He didn’t even order him to do it himself! He was asked to be taken to a healer not to be the healer. Dumb clone.
He sighed while placing both hands on his desk, clawing the wood from time to time, he couldn’t believe it but the proof was right there. In his brain from vivid memories, from fresh feelings... The clone had fallen in love with Adam, and Adam… he too, had fallen for the clone version of himself. Now the results from such things are imprinted on Adam’s face when he sees him.
Being stuck at his daughter’s hotel has given the unpleasant experience for both men to see each other.
It’s like, a pang of guilt but also awkwardness hits every time their eyes met. Adam was clearly in pain but also angry at him. And well, it was not ideal to visualize your enemy naked in bed after having hardcore sex with your clone self.
That clone was fucking freaky too, went beyond what he’d ever done with Lilith. Crazy kinky motherfucker, made it even ten times weirder to handle seeing Adam when all he can see was the man being pounded on the wooden bed he had hand made to keep him safe and comfortable when he was still in the first few days of recovery. Then being use to fulfill the dirtiest desires they had in mind.
He shook his head, shooing all those thoughts away. All he ever wanted now is to have never discover what had happened but if he hadn’t who knows how much deeper it could’ve gotten between those two.
The guilt was eating him alive. In a way. He had taken another love from Adam’s life. In a way… he had hurt Adam again.
“Dad?” Charlie called out from behind the door of his workshop, snapping him out from his inner conflicted monologue.
“Yes, apple pie?”
“The activities are about to start, if.. you want to join? We’ll be downstairs.”
“In a minute, pumpkin! I’ll be right there.”
Lucifer sighed heavily, puffing out his chest, cheeks full with air, fists clenched tightly. It wasn’t his fault. This shouldn’t be weird. He shouldn’t be the one hiding! He didn’t ask for Adam to fuck his clone, he didn’t ask for his clone to had fallen in love with Adam!
He will be fine.
.
.
.
He is not fine.
Lucifer watched carefully as Adam had been teamed up with three hound sinners, one who was awfully close and constantly flirting with him. And Adam seemingly entertaining it.
He was not in any way jealous, but he was particularly beyond furious on his clone behalf. How could he be so easy going with some hussy after the supposedly “love of his life” died in-front of him.
Adam was a slut. His only conclusion. After all, he does recall this is the same man that most likely shoved his manhood inside all heaven when he was still up there. He knows. Adam would brag that shit in their dumb yearly reunions. All the fucking time.
Honestly, he wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case all along with his clone. Maybe, all this time Adam just saw him as a fuck buddy while he was still at his care until he fully recovered back to his dick self.
No. That can’t be. There was a lot of… personal and tender exchanges the two had for it to be just seen as something light. It’s unlikely.
He breathed out the air he had trapped in, unaware that he popped the ball he held in his hands.
“Man! Now we have to get a new one!” He heard Angel dust groaned out annoyed.
But he didn’t care. He needed to talk to Adam. They’ve ignored this for too long.

i hope that valentino doesn't die in s2, and not just because i like him and want to see more of him.
i actually think val is a really good opportunity for hazbin to dig into how it defines redemption. every character in the show has a different ethical outlook on hell and the idea of redemption, but the two main ones seem to be charlie (everyone is capable of changing for the better when offered support and safety, and everyone should be provided those things regardless of what they've done) and alastor/lucifer/adam (people are naturally inclined towards wrongdoing, there are no second chances, and hell is both a punishment and cosmic justice). val is the perfect character to exemplify the struggle between these two different outlooks. CAN someone as awful and abusive as val be redeemed? and if so, what would that look like? how would we ensure his victims are safe from him while also giving him space to grow and change? if he can't be redeemed, what's the threshold for irredeemability? can we agree on what makes someone so bad there's no hope? can we quantify which sins are worse than others, and how?
(and by the way, what even gets someone into heaven, and who decides? hazbin seems like this is the main question it's beginning to focus on, so i have a lot of hope for how this one will get resolved. because at the moment, it seems like self-sacrifice is what gets you there, and that is deeply unsatisfying to me—you shouldn't have to give up everything, up to and including your life, to be considered "good enough". it's a vehemently christian idea that martyrdom is righteous and i fucking hate it.)
and if charlie's ethics are universal, she'll have to commit to redeeming people like val, otherwise she undermines her entire mission by picking and choosing who gets to have support and who doesn't. if charlie's ethics aren't universal, we could start really digging more into how her personal attachments to angel dust could present a conflict of interest in her values, like we did with vaggie; are people only worthy of her unconditional encouragement if she loves them? what are the implications of THAT?
my personal value system believes that there's no such thing as someone being irredeemable. there's only people who actively choose not to try, even after they've been provided love, support and well-intended challenges from people who want to see them grow. there needs to be space for people to be safe from their abusers and space for abusers to reform themselves and participate in society, otherwise our options become banishment or execution and i doubt that's the ethical message hazbin wants us to walk away with. val's positioning in the narrative and his close connection to angel makes him the perfect candidate to really challenge charlie's commitment to her ideals, since she doesn't already love him (like vaggie) and he isn't actively trying to be better (like angel or pentious). killing him would be unsatisfying, as well as letting everybody off the hook too easy. i want these bitches neck-deep in painful ethical dilemmas.
ultimately, i hope that hazbin goes the teshuvah route regarding sin. in judaism, teshuvah is the process of repentance for sin, but it also means "return" because the hebrew word for sin, chet, means missing the mark. sin is when we don't quite hit the target how we should have. it's not something you're born with, it's something you do, and it's something you can choose not to do. teshuvah is slow and difficult and a lifelong process, not a one-time golden ticket to heaven. i hope hazbin ends up in the same vein as this, where reforming sinners becomes more about repairing broken relationships, crafting a better society, and harm reduction instead of the ultimate goal being entry to heaven. i think that would be far more interesting and cathartic to me than anything else
#can you tell i really love the good place. i love it i love it#sin as a concept fascinates me‚ very excited to see hazbin dig more into it than what we've seen so far re: heaven being corrupt and the#rules being arbitrary#hazbin hotel#valentino#charlie morningstar#angel dust#alastor#hazbin hotel meta#op#meta

PART FOUR OF "DISHONORED GUESTS"
Charlie says how Sinners are not stagnant in the place they were when they died. They are still able to change!
Sera: What makes you say that?
Charlie: If you truly believe the Winners here in Heaven are just as cognizant as you, me, or any other being existing between any of our realms, then I don't see any reason why you wouldn't extend that thinking towards the Sinners of Hell
The crowd begins to murmur…. The demon made a good couple points so far…
There's some back and forth but eventually the topic shifts to the Hazbin Hotel.
The topic of discussion specifically is about their first patron, Anthony
Sera: And how long has Anthony been in your care? Charlie: About 4 months at this point! And yes! We do!!!! He may not follow EVERY commandment EXACTLY but he’s still learning- and a lot at that!!!!
Adam: Do we have any proof of all he's learned?
So they get the Orb.
The Orb shows Angel and Emily is leaning on her hands in awe, “Wow! A real Sinner! :D”
Adam is like “mmmmmmm…….*getting annoyed*
So I'm actually gonna keep everything that happens at the club with the Sinners.
(Angel standing up to Valentino won't be ‘sticking it to the man’ it can just be considered ‘thou shalt not unto thee any graven image’ (putting Valentino’s importance/work above all else, not doing that anymore)
Sera: I don't believe it….
Emily is like… “Thou shalt not unto thee any graven image!’ Angel Dust’s boss was his graven image but standing up to him and not allowing him to speak ill of his friends paves the way for the potential of a new source of worship in above!”
Charlie: Yes! Exactly! Angel Dust is capable of change, EVERY Sinner is with the right support!
If they can be redeemed, WHEN? And HOW exactly can they reach the gates? Is it even physically POSSIBLE?
Sera is completely speechless.
Sera: I….
Sera regains her composure, “A-And… And what, Miss Morningstar, would you say about the Commandments that a Sinner would be physically incapable of following? ‘Honor thy mother and father’ for example?
Charlie: Well like you said, that would be impossible to follow if a Sinner’s parents are not dead yet or are in Heaven but uh….. but……
Charlie: But surely we, as Heaven and Hell, create some sort of middle ground! We could come up with a replacement for this commandment-!
Adam: Replace one of the Ten Commandments?!
Emily is like I don't see how else we'd be able to work around that if we didn't! It would just be for these cases of redemption-
Sera: Emily!
The whole Courtroom erupts into chaos.
EVERYONE'S shouting and NO ONE knows what's going on. Everybody's got their own ideas and opinions and it seems they all want to be heard at this very moment.
Can a Sinner be redeemed? How could that HELL RAT date think to replace one of the Commandments! Would they have to deal with Sinners potentially ruining their Heavenly paradise? Could a WINNER get sent to Hell?
Sera shouts, “THAT'S ENOUGH!!” and a magic, angelic surge bursts through the room, quieting everybody.
Sera sighs, “This questioning stops now. We know when a soul arrives, we know when they pass divine judgment, it is our job to ensure these souls are safe”
Emily: But Sera! They CAN change!!! We JUST saw it!!
Sera is looking down at Emily solemnly and conflicted…
Emily looks like she's lost some fight but then she glanced at Charlie, who's looking back up at her earnestly.
They won't listen to Charlie, they don't even listen to EMILY!
But they've heard each other… they UNDERSTOOD each other!
Emily: NO!
Emily: He had followed a Commandment! He's showing promise but we just decide to dismiss the whole thing?! How is that fair?! How is that the forgiving and merciful way of Heaven?!
Charlie: Just because they're dead doesn't mean they can't change and you're not even giving it a chance! Sinners should have an option to escape Hell if they're deserving of Heaven!
Adam is getting a little heated, “There's a reason for all this! Sinners of Hell were once human but they've made the choices that got them there and they must pay the price for all eternity!”
Charlie: But why?!
Adam: Because that's just how it is!
Emily: It shouldn't have to be! They're souls just like the ones up here in Heaven!
Emily is taking Charlie's side. She's siding with a product of deviation from Heaven!! Just like-!
Adam: Sinners were humans who have done unspeakable things! VILE things! Humanity is tainted- tainted because of our-... MY foolishness.
Adam shouts, “And it just keeps getting worse! More and more humans are turning towards sin! If you all could know how many are down there in Hell then you'd understand why we have to go down there for the Exterminations and-!
The Courtroom goes into a frenzy again
FUUUCKK!!!! Some people there knew about the Exterminations and were like “Well shit” while those who didn't know were like “The Extermi- WHAT?!”
So Emily is like “WHAT?!???”
Basically the whole second half of “You Didn't Know” song :P
In the chaos and the shouting and stuff, Adam is still in total shock about what he had just exposed… What did he do? It was an accident! It was just the heat of the moment and he was so angry and frustrated and he didn't mean to admit anything!
Lute looks across the Courtroom and her and Vaggie's eyes meet.
Lute: Don't think I've forgotten you”
Vaggie is tugging on Charlie's arm like, “We need to go, NOW, Charlie”
Charlie is like, “What??? Look!! We're finally getting somewhere!”
Emily agrees
Lute: Don't act so coy, HELLSPAWN! Your power grows at our disarray! You're just as bad as those disgusting Sinners, just as bad as…. HER!
Charlie is pissed, “Take that BACK”
Lute: Why should I? It's the truth!
Lute looks at the crowd of people, “This nonsense has gone on for far too long!”
Lute: Why should we allow ourselves to listen to them?!
Lute: To the Heir to Hell and a-!
“LUTE DON'T-!”
Lute: A FALLEN ANGEL!

Hazbin Hotel - Vaggie Finale Thoughts
My thoughts on Vaggie are… complicated. I think the last two episodes of season 1 do a really good job with her and I love the beats her character hits, but the rest of the season didn’t build up to some of these beats the way they should have to make all of them hit as hard as they could.
I’m just going to jump right in to explain what I mean.

Vaggie’s role in episode 7 where she has to go convince Carmilla to help them face the angels is at its core fantastic and the song that they get together is a banger, but the basis for this song– that Vaggie is being driven by vengeance and has to fight for love instead– rings hollow.
Everything Vaggie has done this season has been for love. She’s been nothing but supportive of Charlie, putting all her effort into the hotel and Charlie’s mission. Her song and arc in episode 3 surround Vaggie’s belief and love for Charlie. Vaggie fighting for love has never been the central issue of her character because she’s been doing it all along.

I like the idea of Vaggie being driven by vengeance, considering how brutally Lute mutilated her and how she was cast out of heaven for the “horrible” offense of hesitating to kill a child this would make sense for her character, but this wasn’t shown at any point prior to this song.
Where was this thirst for vengeance when she came face to face with Adam and Lute in the hotel room? Where was Vaggie’s anger at heaven when Charlie was calling out their hypocrisy? At what point in this season did Vaggie choose vengeance over her love and support for Charlie?

If vengeance was what was really driving her character then Vaggie would be pushing Charlie to call out heaven. She would take some impulsive actions to strike back that put Charlie’s goals in danger. She wouldn’t be the one telling Charlie to keep a cool head or singing about supporting Charlie no matter what.
This is the issue that’s been plaguing Vaggie this entire season. So much of her character has been tell rather than show. We were told by Husk that Vaggie hates herself. We were told by Carmilla that Vaggie was driven by vengeance. When Vaggie is faced with the decision to support Charlie against heaven or side with heaven to keep her secret the narrative lets Vaggie just not make a choice.
She doesn’t get to show her character and flaws through her actions. At least not the ones the show says she has.
I think this problem is a bit more obvious because when the show does build up something with her character it is really good.

Vaggie being the one to reach out to and convince Carmilla to help their cause is a great beat. We see early on that Vaggie isn’t a people person. She has trouble trusting and/or inspiring others, but here we get to see her reach out to and connect with someone else, and it's through this understanding the two have that she is able to get Carmilla to help her (by training her to fight angels) and the hotel (by providing weapons).

This exact struggle is also reflected in the moments with the hotel residents. Throughout the season Vaggie has always come across as being on their level. Charlie is well-meaning, but because of her privileged upbringing she has a very black and white view of redemption and struggles to deal with the more serious mental health issues that the hotel residents face. Whereas Vaggie is more jaded and has made massive mistakes in the past.
The other hotel residents can understand her struggle to do the right thing and redeem herself, which is why it was impactful to have Vaggie be the one to let them know that they can leave and that she’s the first one to see that they stayed. It emphasized the connection between them.

Vaggie’s fight with Lute was also amazing. Lute was the angel that cast her out, ripping out her eye and cutting off her wings. There’s a personal connection there that makes this battle investing. The way their battle ends really emphasizes the conflict between Charlie and heaven in episode 6 by showing that Vaggie, someone cast out of heaven, is more worthy of heaven and angel wings than Lute, Adam’s right-hand woman, through her decision to choose love over hate and spare Lute’s life.
It’s these moments that show the full potential that Vaggie has as a character and put the moments that they fumbled in stark contrast.
I really like this show, but I do think it has flaws. Vaggie’s character is a prime example of how the pacing of this season made certain character arcs suffer.
I'm hopeful that the show can improve on some of these issues now that it officially has a season 2 and that it was the biggest animated release on Amazon Prime (which is impressive because The Legend of Vox Machina had the massive already established fanbase of critical role watching it). I really enjoyed watching this season week to week and can’t wait for what they have in store for us next.

Side note: The moment where Vaggie spared Lute is where she should have gotten her angel wings and specifically she should have gotten Lute’s angel wings. This would just heighten the thematic importance of this moment and show through Vaggie’s mercy– the very thing that got her kicked out of the exorcists– she has shown that she is more worthy of being an angel than Lute. I can’t take credit for this. I heard it from Sarcastic Chorus.

what do you of Charlie as a main character, her development through season 1 , and how her development will continue in season 2 now that Sir Pentious is in heaven and the Vees being the main antagonists.
Hi!
I looooooooooooooove Charlie <3 She is my second favorite character in the whole Hellaverse (after Lucifer) and I think she is one of my favorite protagonists ever.
As a main character, I like her for three reasons.
Charlie is at the centre of her story. I HATE when the story tells us the protagonist is important, but they end up having no impact whatsoever. Charlie is instead very active and shapes the conflict, in both good ways and bad ways. She comes up with the Hazbin Hotel project, she goes to meet Adam, she has the idea of speaking with Sera. It is her passion, which inspires both Angel and Pentious to try to be better. It is her bravery, which irks Adam and has him target the hotel. It is her and Vaggie, who find a way to protect Hell. Basically, you take Charlie away, the story disappears.
Charlie is very flawed. The second worse thing after a protagonist who does nothing is a protagonist who is always right. Thankfully Charlie is a disaster. She fails to both listen to others and to express herself. She wants to redeem people, but has no idea how. She doesn't understand neither others nor herself. Even when she is right, she is so for the wrong reasons. Charlie is a person with a lot of potential. She is powerful, inventive, charismatic, smart and determined. And yet, she fails to capitalize on all these talents because she doesn't wanna face the negative things about herself and the world. She is Miss Repression.
Charlie is a complex character. In fact, I think she is more complex than people give her credit for. A good example of this is her motivations. Charlie has two reasons to pursue her Hazbin Hotel Project:
She wants to save the sinners and to build a better Kingdom (selfless reason) > external journey
She wants to matter and to be needed by others (selfish reason) > internal journey
A good way to understand this double journey is to look at Charlie's two major inspirations.
CHARLIE = RAPUNZEL + JACK SKELLINGTON
Design-wise Charlie is a mix between Disney's Rapunzel and Jack Skellington.
Both Charlie and Rapunzel are blond princesses that wear their hair tied into a long braid. Not only that, but their hair is linked to their inner magic:
Rapunzel's hair is associated with the sun, so it can both heal and explode into a beam of light.
Charlie's hair is a metaphor of her feelings. She usually represses her emotions, so her hair is restrained. However, when she enters her demon form and unleashes her power, her hair gets untied.
Both Charlie and Jack Skellington are tall, white, humanoid demons, who wear tuxedos with bow ties. Charlie's allusion to Jack is even made official in some arts:
So, Charlie looks like both a Disney Princess and the Pumpkin King. What about it? Well, the point is that the Princess of Hell doesn't just look the part, but shares deep similarities with both characters.
Charlie is a (tame) deconstruction of the Disney Princess archetype. She is a princess, who is cheerful, optimistic, selfless, good to the bone and likes singing. So, everyone loves her right? Wrong. The world around her isn't as easily impressed by her spirit, but misunderstands it and mocks her. So, Charlie is basically Rapunzel if Raps were met with a cynical world the moment she escaped the tower:
He's got a dream He's got a dream See, I ain't as cruel and vicious as I seem Though I do like breaking femurs You can count me with the dreamers Like everybody else I've got a dream
Inside of every demon is a rainbow! Inside every sinner is a shiny smile! Inside of every creepy hatchet-wielding maniac, Is a jolly, happy, cupcake-loving child!
Rapunzel enters a sinister inn, shares her personal dream and is validated and understood by a bunch of bandits. Charlie explains her well-meaning goal to all of Hell and is humiliated and laughed at by everyone.
Charlie is a Disney Princess in Hell, who wants to grow into a leader who inspires others. However, it does not come easily to her, like it does to Rapunzel.
Charlie's external journey is a deconstruction and reconstruction of the Disney Princess archetype. Which struggles must a Disney Princess face in Hell? How can a Disney Song get through literal demons? How can Charlie maintain her idealism in the hellish world she is in?
Charlie and Jack face very similar struggles. They are the royals of a Kingdom full of fear, screams and pain. However, both are tired of it and decide to change it:
Jack wants to bring Christmas (warm, joy and goodness) in Halloween Town
Charlie founds the Hazbin Hotel to redeem sinners, so those people the universe itself has dismissed as lost
The intentions are good, but Jack and Charlie are not completely selfless, as they pursue them.
This is clear for Jack. The Pumpkin King is forcing Halloween Town to embrace a twisted version of Christmas, so that he can fill his existential void. Deep down Jack wants to change, but he embraces a superficial transformation (Sandy Klaus), instead than a deeper one (Sally).
Charlie is the same, even if she might not look like it. The Princess of Hell wants to redeem sinners, so that she can redeem her parents and so her very existence. She wants to make Hell a better place, sure. However, she wants to do so to prove she has value. Similarly to Jack, she is also superficial in her methods. Jack thinks all he has to do to understand Christmas is to color himself red:
Charlie thinks all she has to do to save others is to give them hugs and fluffy clouds:
Both look for superficial solutions to deep internal issues and complicated societal problems.
Charlie's internal journey is similar to Jack's. Both struggle with their most vulnerable and hidden parts (their shadow), wear masks (personas) and grow thanks to romantic partners (their animus/anima).
CHARLIE = A NEGLECTED CHILD
As a character, Charlie's two main inspirations are Rapunzel and Jack Skellington. As a person in-universe, Charlie's two main influences are Lucifer and Lilith.
Charlie is a mix of her parents, both physically and psychologically:
She looks a lot like her father and has inherited his idealistic disposition and love for dreams
She has long golden hair like her mom and wants to become like her and inspire others with her songs
What's more, it is obvious her parents are the driving force behind many of Charlie's actions. Deep down the Princess of Hell is nothing, but a child from "divorced parents". As a result, she exhibits many traits that can be tracked back to Lucifer and Lilith's separation and neglect.
Charlie deeply misses her family and she is unconsciously trying to get it back. This is why she chooses to establish her Hazbin Hotel in a decadent building, which is full of family pictures and of symbols linked to her parents. Even the room she shares with Vaggie was obviously Lucifer and Lilith's:
This choice has a double meaning. On the one hand it represents Charlie's willingness to restore her parents' dream. On the other hand it is a hidden desire for her family to come back to her. Fully healed and together.
Her issues go deeper when we look at Charlie's relationship with both her parents. Lucifer and Lilith share similar positive traits- they are both charismatic and fierce dreamers - and negative traits - they have both been neglecting Charlie. However, Charlie has compartmentalized her feelings for both in a specific way:
She blames all her parents' misdeeds on Lucifer. She is quick to justify Lilith leaving for 7 years. However, she openly calls out Lucifer's coldness and neglect.
She projects all her parents' positive traits on Lilith. She sees her Hazbin Hotel project as a way to honor Lilith's legacy, but episode 5 makes clear her dream is strongly inspired by Lucifer too.
Essentially, Charlie sees the world in black and white and this is true for her parents too. Despite this, many things do not add up. For example, she says she admires mostly Lilith and is not close with Lucifer at all. However, the way she looks suggests something different.
Some people pointed out that as a teen Charlie used to dress more feminine, like Lilith.
As a young adult, Charlie wears more masculine clothes. Not only that, but her jacket strongly resembles Lucifer's one in his youth.
In short, Charlie says she looks up to her mom, whereas she is estranged from her dad. However, she also tries to resemble her dad and season 1 reveals how much she loves him. I would not be surprised if season 2 were to go deeper into her probably contradictory feelings towards Lilith.
Finally, I wonder what Charlie's feelings are when it comes to Lilith and Lucifer's original sin. After all, Lilith and Lucifer are the ones who brought evil into the world and I doubt such a moral person like Charlie is untouched by it. I wonder if her determination to save Sinners partly stems from some kind of guilt or shame she feels towards her family. It is as if she is trying to redeem her parents' forbidden love and so her own birth:
Charlie: Don't worry, Mom. I'll make you proud.
She wants her parents to be proud of her, but maybe she too wants to be proud of her family.
CHARLIE'S ARC IN SEASON 1
Charlie has both an external journey and an internal journey. How do they play out in season 1?
Internal journey
I have discussed Charlie's internal journey in season 1 in several metas. In short, the two key characters for Charlie's development in season 1 are Lucifer and Vaggie (yes, Angel and Alastor are pivotal too, but I am simplifying things here):
Lucifer challenges Charlie to see positive traits in others. She initially thinks of Lucifer in a negative way. However, after their shared song Charlie becomes able to understand her dad more and sees his hidden light. This realization makes her more self-confident and ready to face a new challenge in Heaven.
Vaggie challenges Charlie to accept negative traits in others. Charlie sees only Vaggie's positive qualities and ignores her flaws. However, after she discovers Vaggie's past as an exorcist she is forced to confront her girlfriend's repressed shadow. This realization has her face her own inner problems and helps her grow.
In other words, Lucifer and Vaggie help Charlie get more in tune with different parts of herself, both positive and negative:
Lucifer helps Charlie express her potential. By showing to his daughter a more positive part of himself, he gives her hope. Moreover, he acknowledges her dream and talent, so Charlie grows determined. As a result, she is more direct as she faces both Sera and Adam in Heaven.
Vaggie forces Charlie to face her vulnerability. By showing her girlfriend a negative part of herself, Vaggie breaks Charlie's coping mechanism. As a result, Charlie struggles with some of her repressed issues and grows. This is why Charlie can express her negative feelings more openly after her fight with Vaggie.
So, Lucifer and Vaggie do not only help Charlie in her inner journey, but accompany her in her external one, as well.
External journey
Charlie's external journey is her evolution into an effective political leader. A good way to summarize it is to use Charlie's songs.
Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow/ Happy Day in Hell
Charlie's first songs both work as a starting point of her arc.
Both describe Charlie's objective:
There'll be no more fire, And no more screams Just puppy dog kisses, and cotton candy dreams And puffy-wuffy clouds, you're gonna be like "Wow!" Once you check in with meeeee~!
Charlie: If I can show them the dream I've dreamed That any soul can change! Vaggie: Those angels' minds are hard to change Charlie: Then they will know everyone can be redeemed From the evil to the strange! Vaggie: They're bloodthirsty and deranged!
Charlie wants to bring happiness in Hell, but she herself does not really know her people, so she fails.
Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow shows it directly. Charlie sings to the Sinners calling them "cretins, sluts, losers" and she tries to force her feelings on them. Well, it does not work very well :P
Happy Day in Hell shows it indirectly. Charlie sings about Hell and mentions two places (Cannibal Town and the Porn Studio). She speaks of them fondly, but later on we discover she knows them very little. Moreover, she refuses to listen to Vaggie and ignores that everybody else does not match her song. She sings about today being a happy day, while the people around her suffer.
So, in the beginning Charlie is just terrible at communicating. This is brought up even in the song Hell Is Forever, where she fails both to pitch her hotel and to fight Adam's narrative.
It Starts With Sorry & More Than Anything
As the series goes on, Charlie starts getting through to people. She starts with:
Sir Pentious - He is the first Sinner Charlie convinces to join her Hotel onscreen. She gets through to him by forgiving him and believing in him when no-one does. The Vees consider him a failure and Vaggie and Angel are ready to attack him. Pentious himself is about to give up. However, Charlie doesn't and she inspires him to truly join the project. Charlie has her ideals tested and succeeds.
Lucifer - He is a person Charlie loves and deep down admires. So, it is extremely important that Charlie manages to get through to him. Charlie manages to express some of her deepest feelings. She shows Lucifer her real self and is rewarded.
You Didn't Know
Thanks to her successes, Charlie grows confident enough she can openly challenge Heaven. What's interesting is that if in Hell Is Forever Charlie lacks a retort, here she finds one:
Charlie and Emily: If Hell is forever, then Heaven must be a lie If angels can do whatever, and remain in the sky The rules are shades of gray when you don't do as you say When you make the wretched suffer just to kill them again
She is able to finally tell Adam off and to counter his philosophy.
Ready For This
After facing her "political rival", Charlie is asked once again to inspire her people. Charlie herself is not particularly sure she is gonna succeed:
Rosie: Well how do you normally explain your hotel? Charlie: By singing. But that never works.
However, she pulls it off. The reason behind her success is that she behaves differently from Inside of Every Demon is a Rainbow:
Charlie: Have you ever wanted something That was so clear in your mind that you could taste it? Susan: You mean like human flesh? Charlie: Uhh, sort of.. It's a feeling like a rumbling in your gut That you could finally be faced with A billion needy faces, I guess what I mean to say is For the first time in my life I might have to be ready for this Ready to be the one who's leading from the front Gotta come into my own Gotta come into my throne Gotta take charge and defend my only home And although I kinda feel unsteady Now I need to be ready for this
She doesn't put her feelings and her dream in the spotlight. Rather, she addresses the cannibals in a way that they can empathize with her and understand where she is coming from. In this way, she makes the first step towards truly becoming a good leader:
Charlie: That's a start! 'Cause right now, we need a leader And it seems to me that Destiny has picked me to be that If you'll permit me So who's with me?
Finale
The Finale is a reprise of Happy Day In Hell. However, there are two main differences.
1- In Happy Day In Hell Charlie sings alone, whereas here Lucifer starts the reprise:
Lucifer: Come on little lady, why the frown? In the last 10,000 years You're the first one to change this town You can do this, now I know it! For your story has just begun You can't quit now. Hell, you owe it! There's still damage to be undone You've changed my mind, you've touched their hearts Found the good in souls gone bad The stage is wrecked, the crowd is gone But by God, Charlie! The show, it must go on! Everyone: We can do this We can build it Best hotel that you've ever seen! Twice the bedrooms, we can fill it Lucifer: With more sinners than you can dream! Lucifer and Vaggie: It starts with you, Lucifer, Vaggie and Angel Dust: You know it's true, Everyone: Fulfill your destiny!
And Charlie's loved ones all join in. So, Charlie might not have managed to inspire all of Hell, just yet. Still, she has found a small group of people who support her and are ready to sing her song.
2- In Happy Day In Hell Charlie naively thinks Hell can be fixed in a day (today is gonna be a happy day). Here instead she has accepted time is needed:
Everyone: We can do this (Charlie: We can do this) We'll be better (Charlie: We'll be better) Though redemption may take a while (Charlie: Though it may take a while) Wayward sinners, clear their ledger
So, tomorrow is going to be a happy day in hell.
In short, Charlie goes from a simplistic girl unable to communicate to a more mature adult in tune with her and others' emotions. Sure, she still has a long way to go. Yet, she has made a first step in the right direction.
HAZBIN HOTEL SEASON 2
We don't know how season 2 is gonna play out. However, we can do some hypothesis.
Internal journey
Season 1 focused on Charlie's relationship with Lucifer. The bond starts as strained, but it gets better throughout the season. It is possible season 2 will focus on Charlie and Lilith's relationship. After all, Charlie puts her mom on a pedestal, but all pedestals must break for a child to grow.
I also wonder if Pentious will work as a foil to Lilith, like he is to Lucifer.
It is no secret Sir Pentious and Lucifer are foils in season 1. Both are the convinced by Charlie to support their project. Both have a snake motif. Both are pivotal in the final fight. Lucifer falls from Heaven because of love, whereas Pentious rises to Heaven because of love.
At the same time, season 1 ends with a strong parallel between Pentious and Lilith. Both are two people Charlie misses and they are both in Heaven. From the little teaser with Buxter, it is also obvious Charlie is not dealing with her grief over Pentious well. It is possible her repressed feelings over Pentious's death might mirror her pain over Lilith leaving. Finally, Pentious and Cherri are a couple separated by Heaven and Hell. They might work as interesting foils to Lucifer and Lilith.
External journey
Season 1 focused on Charlie's political battle against Adam, as an example of a conflict between two Kingdoms (Hell and Heaven). Season 2 is gonna focus more on the Vees as antagonists, which means we are gonna explore more The Pride Ring's inner politics. This means Charlie will be tested as a leader in her own home turf.
In general, the story has made it very clear the Vees are negative foils of the Hotel Crew. The current situation in the Pride Ring is that the Ring is divided in an endless battle among Overlords. In particular, the Vees are a new generation of Overlords (hence their links to new medias), who want to take over after the old generation (Carmilla, Zestial, etc.)
This is why Velvette tries to provoke a fight with Heaven. She knows that if Hell goes to war, there is going to be a huge shift in the power balance in Hell. Still, her ulterior motifs are obvious and Carmilla and Zestial see through her. So, Carmilla refuses to give Velvette the information she needs. However, the Weapon Dealer is much more open with Vaggie because the exorcist is much more selfless and honest. In short, Velvette and Vaggie are foils when it comes to Carmilla and their foiling mirrors a broader juxtaposition between the Hazbin Hotel and the Vees. In short, Hell does need a new leadership, but it will be Charlie and her crew who will rise, not the Vees.
This is made clear in the foiling between Vox and Charlie, which starts in episode 2. There Vox is quick to dismiss Pentious once he fails. Charlie instead welcomes Pentious in, despite his mistakes. The two leaders have opposite ideas when it comes to people. Vox sees them as assets, Charlie sees them as individuals. These different approaches show throughout the season.
Vox states he will protect the people of Hell at the beginning of the series:
Reporter: Mr. Vox! What are your thoughts about the new extermination deadline? Vox: My dear people! We at VoxTek Enterprises have always been at the forefront of innovation. And now, with this new oncoming threat, we are shifting our focus, to your protection. We are pleased to announce- VoxTek Angelic Security is coming soon! Trust us, with YOUR safety.
However, by the end he is watching the fight safe on a sofa:
The one who truly fights for the people of Hell is truly Charlie:
Charlie: Tomorrow, the Exorcist Angels will face a Hell ready to defend itself and win! Vaggie: Yeah! Yeah, we will! Tell 'em, baby! Charlie: Yes! And we are-we are going to win! But in case we don't, I want you all to know... that getting to know you has been the biggest honor of my life. Whatever redemption really means, I know you all tried. I have seen the good in all of you. And it's...I-I'm just...I love you all, so much.
And she manages to stop the exterminations and to save Hell.
I am expecting season 2 to explore these opposite factions and their foiling more.
These are my thoughts for now. When it comes to Charlie, we could discuss much more about her motifs, like the apple one, the religious one and how all the people in the Hazbin Hotel embody a specific archetype to help Charlie grow. However, this post is already enough long as it is :)
Have a nice day and thank you for the ask! Also, sorry for the long wait!
