My personal rankings of different tf2 ships that I've seen!!

1- I don't like it at all. 10- I love it!!

Heavy x Medic: 11/10 I absolutely adore them together, they're perfect for each other.

Heavy x Spy: 5/10 not my personal favorite, but I don't hate it.

Heavy x Sniper: 2/10 I've never actually seen this one before, but I don't really care for it.

Heavy x Scout: 2/10 again, not a huge fan. I honestly see Heavy as more of a father figure to scout.

Heavy x Pyro: 5/10 another one I haven't seen before, but I don't mind the idea of it. Their chemistry could be interesting.

Heavy x Soldier: 6/10 I haven't seen very much of this ship, but I do think they're funny together. They definitely have some potential.

Heavy x Demo: 5/10 another I haven't seen before, not quite sure how to feel.

Heavy x Engie: 5/10 POOTIS-

Demo x Soldier: 9/10 only docking a point because I see them more as platonic soulmates over being in a romantic relationship.

Demo x Medic: 5/10 not a personal favorite, but they are definitely funny together.

Demo x Scout: 5/10 another one that I don't feel very strongly towards.

Demo x Pyro: 7/10 Fire and explosions, my friends.

Demo x Engineer: 6/10 I can see them as drinking buddies when they aren't on the field.

Demo x Spy: 4/10 never seen it before, don't care about it either.

Demo x Sniper: 10/10 I wish they had more interactions together in the comics with both of them conscious. Swordvan is in my top three for sure.

Engie x Scout: 1/10 not a fan of this one at all. I see Engie as far more of a father figure than a romantic interest for Scout.

Engie x Soldier: 7/10 not my preference, but they can definitely be cute together.

Engie x Pyro: 0/10 They are literally family in my mind, Engiedad moment.

Engie x Medic: 8/10 They're definitely besties, but I don't really ship them myself, personally.

Engie x Sniper: 4/10 I don't think I've seen this one before. I don't care all that much for it though.

Engie x Spy: 10/10 Perfect slow burn dynamic, I love them together.

Medic x Spy: 5/10 I can understand why people enjoy it, it's just not my cup of tea

Medic x Sniper: 5/10 again, just not my personal favorite.

Medic x Scout: 1/10 Yet another situation of me seeing a character as Scout's father figure.

Medic x Soldier: 5/10 another uncommon one! They do have their charm together, I can say that.

Medic x Pyro: 4/10 I don't care very much about this one.

Sniper x Scout: 8/10 I fully understand why people like this ship so much, for me, however, it is simply outweighed by swordvan.

Sniper x Soldier: 5/10 not sure how to feel about it, it's another very uncommon one.

Sniper x Pyro: 4/10 don't like this one a whole lot, even though I haven't seen it much.

Sniper x Spy: 1/10 Unpopular opinion, I know. It just feels weird knowing that Sniper is the same age as Scout, who is Spy's son.

Spy x Scout: -9999999/10 WHO THE HELL WOULD SHIP THIS- straight up NASTY.

Spy x Soldier: 5/10 I feel pretty neutral on this one.

Spy x Pyro: 2/10 I just don't see it happening.

Scout x Soldier: 4/10 I don't hate it, but I don't like it very much.

Scout x Pyro: 9/10 I think they have a lot of potential together! I like to call the ship "Hotwings" because it's funny.

Soldier x Pyro: 2/10 I really just don't see it happening, tbh.

Stranger Things Ship Ranks

I’ve seen people do this ship rank thing, so I thought I’d jump into the trend! Obviously, not every ship is on here so I put the most well known ones. I excluded the poly ships cause I personally don’t have any opinions on them

Byler 1000000000/10- Beautiful. Amazing. Spectacular. Inspiring. They are legends. They are icons. And they are the moment.

In all seriousness though, this ship is amazing. They’re both so in love and it’s just a gorgeous friends-to-lovers story. The fact that Will sees Mike as his knight in shining armor and Mike sees Will as the light of his life😭😭Jesus Christ these two are absolutely WHIPPED for each other and I LIVE for it

They’re just so happy with one other and I desperately hope they get together cause y’all best believe they’ll be the most adorable, loving, and iconic couple ever.

M*leven 0/10- Tbh, I used to ship milkvan back in 2017 when I first got into the show, but S3 ruined it for me. That, and I got into byler lol.

Honestly, these two work better as friends and El isn’t really ready for a romantic relationship yet. They both lie constantly, aren’t interested in each other’s hobbies, and most of the time they fight and don’t actually get to know one another.

Now platonic Elmike? I’m all for it! But romantic? Nope. I sincerely hope milkvan breaks up in S5 cause it’s honestly the best option for both of them and it’s about high time they did.

Jopper 10/10- I’ve shipped them since the very beginning. I read fanfic about them and even planned their wedding back in 2017. Their kiss/make out session was one of the few saving graces of volume 2. Need I say more?

Lumax 10/10- Another one of the best ships in the show. At first, I thought these two were cute in S2 but I didn’t think much of them. Then in S3, they were kinda iffy but again, I didn’t have an issue with them.

But then in comes S4 and suddenly I’m hooked on them. They’ve matured so much and they’ve grown from a cute couple to a genuine, loving relationship. And the fact that Max listened to Lucas’s big game despite not being there was adorable and Lucas not leaving Max’s side even when the portals were opening. That’s devotion right there🥺

Hopefully we’ll see more of them in S5 when Max wakes up.

J*ncy 0/10- Ooo this is probably gonna upset someone but yeah, I don’t ship jancy. Like, at all. I’ve never cared for them as a couple and I honestly find them a little boring. I’m just sick of the whole “jancy vs stancy” thing and honestly just want Nancy to end up single cause she’s better off for it

St*ncy 0/10- Same thing I said for jancy: I don’t care for it. Never have, never will. I don’t know why the writers brought it back for S4 but they did and I hate it.

We’ve clearly seen that Steve and Nancy don’t work together so why did they bring it back? It’s not like there was a high demand for it.

Not to mention, that scene where Steve admits to having six kids with Nancy was honestly pretty cringe.

Just please for the love of god, let Steve move on from Nancy. Please. No one cares about this ship war anymore

Stonathan 10/10- One of my ride or dies. It’s a small ship but I’ve loved it since I first got into Stranger Things.

The potential they have, the enemies-to-lovers trope, the introvert and the extrovert, the loner and the popular boy, the photographer and the jock, it’s all right THERE.

I don’t understand why the writers don’t have them interact cause Joe and Charlie have great chemistry together and they’re both tired of stancy and jancy so just have Steve and Jonathan get together. Boom, problem solved

Ronance 6/10- I’ve shipped ronance since S3, before it was cool and popular. And yeah I still do, but not as much as before and I honestly prefer Nancy as single.

But I still think they’re adorable together and their dynamics in S4 were perfect. Sunshine and grumpy🥰

St*ddie 0/10- Yeah no I don’t get it. I don’t understand the appeal of this ship. If you like it fine, but I honestly think it’s overhyped and people just made it into a bigger deal then what it actually is.

Not to mention, the fandom ruined it by being awful to Grace Van Dien, harassing Joseph Quinn, and just generally being toxic.

Jargyle 5/10- Whilst I personally don’t ship it, it get the appeal. Stoner bfs who are cute and high together. What more could you want?

Eddissy 10/10- Alright, I’m just gonna say it: this ship gets way too much hate for no reason.

People say they hate it cause it’s a straight ship but then go and ship jopper and lumax. They say it’s gross cause apparently Chrissy is like 16 but like: Chrissy was the cheerleading captain, a position often given to seniors, she had a necklace with the number ‘86 on it (her graduating year), and Grace Van Dien confirmed that for the casting, Chrissy was always meant to be 18.

And if you don’t wanna take her word for it, then Joseph Quinn literally confirmed in an interview that yes, Eddie did indeed have a crush on Chrissy. Hell, his last concert was dedicated to her.

I don’t understand why people hate this ship so much when the shippers are literally just minding their own business.

But anyways, yes I adore hellcheer and think they would’ve been an adorable couple. Stay mad✌🏼

Rockie 9/10- Another ship that gets unnecessary hate. Yes I know Vickie is underdeveloped but like, that’s no excuse to hate her or the ship. I get not caring for her, but hate? That’s a little much.

I hope she and this relationship get more development in S5 cause her and Robin are honestly cute together.

Elmax 7/10- Like Jargyle, I don’t ship elmax but I totally get the appeal. El is so much more confident and happier with Max than she is with Mike. She was learning to be her own person and finding out what she liked. With Max, El was allowed to have fun and be a kid and not worry about people using her for her powers.

Not to mention, she got the will to fight in volume 2 not because of Mike’s speech, but because Max was in danger.

So while I don’t ship them, I definitely get why others do.

Henderhop 8/10- It’s a small ship but I ship it nonetheless. While they’re most likely not gonna be canon, I honestly think Dustin would be a much better boyfriend for El than Mike. Hell, I think any of the party members aside from Will (cause that’s her brother) would treat El better than Mike (sorry Mike)

Whether platonic or romantic, Dustin and El’s relationship is sweet and I love how he sees her as an absolute badass.

DustinxSuzie 3/10- Eh they’re fine. They’re cute but that’s really about it. I don’t really care about Suzie but her relationship with Dustin is cute and that’s all I can say tbh.

H*rringrove 0/10- I don’t like B*lly so no. Just. No

So, in terms of shippy-nes, how would you rate Dimitri's supports? From "muh OTP" to "naw, they just friends"? Elaborate as much as you want. ^^

Oh, man. I just know this is going to get VERY long. I'll just set the "keep reading" line now because I know I'm about to write way too much.

Please keep note, though, that this is purely based on how shippable I think they are based on supports, and not at all how good I think the support is (i.e. Gilbert and Dimitri ranking bottom tier despite having one of the best supports in the franchise in my opinion).

Literally married to someone else: Alois and Gilbert.

Not a lot of explanation needed here. Gilbert is old enough to be Dimitri's father, married, and is way to much of a mentor figure even if that was your kink. Alois is very, very happily married by the time he meets a teenage Dimitri and is still so throughout the entire game. It is funny, though, how these two are at opposite ends of Dimitri's fluff to serious in supports.

0 Romance: Raphael

I don't have to elaborate on this, do I? It's mostly a joke support that ends at B with someone Dimitri has no chemistry with.

Catherine: Catherine

Dimitri seems to have a cannon interest in getting railed by people who may actually be capable of it, but Catherine is way too much of a lesbian to me. There's just 0 chemistry here.

Like a sister: Annette

As shipable as Dimitri is, I just can't see him and Annette as anything but siblings. Nothing wrong with that, but not super shippable.

She just looks too young: Flayn

This support is actually ripe with shippableness. Both sides end up getting comforted by words from the other and share deep fears and secrets with each other. Flayn also seems pretty openly interested. But she looks like a child, and Dimitri's fairly big and tall. I hate ranking something so low based on aesthetics, but here we are.

Shame it ended at B: Ashe

The conversation ends on a pretty final note, establishing where they stand with each other. Despite Dimitri's wishes to be closer friends, Ashe sees Dimitri too much as a leader. There's a hint, there, with Dimitri giving Ashe a glimpse into his nonexistent self-esteem that could lead to something more, but, sadly, their support ended at B.

Even more of a shame it ended at B: Sylvain

Sylvain ranks higher than Ashe for two reasons: childhood friend angst and because their relationship seems less fraught. However, if you're looking for childhood angst, Felix, and even Ingrid, trumps Sylvain big time here. The less complicated bit gets a bit rocky in part 2 where we never really see Dimitri and Sylvain really talk. Again, another one cursed by ending at B.

Getting warm now: Ingrid

I like Ingrid and Dimitri's paired ending a lot, especially for Ingrid. I also love the childhood friends to lovers trope, and I think they'd fit each other well enough and have beautiful blond babies. I also just think they both have better options.

Lots going for it: Mercedes

Now we're getting into the territory where I actually ship it. Probably one of Dimitri's most underrated ships, tbh. I think they'd be very good for each other. Dimitri demands a lot of emotional attention, and Mercedes want to dote on someone. She gets all the awards for treating him like a friend in part 1, but that doesn't stop them from having serious discussions in part 2. All that's holding this back is wondering if she's almost too motherly at times? Either way, deserves to be more popular.

Held back by characterization: Byleth

This is an incredibly romantic ship. Part of AM seem built around betting the player will romance Dimitri. The hand holding stuff is adorable, and seeing them play out standard tropes but flipping the genders is pretty interesting. It's held back a bit by Byleth not being as compelling as other characters. Dimitri also seems a bit too dependent on Byleth too. To it's credit, though, it feels natural and it's a good breather that it leaves enough room for Byleth to play mentor rather than shoving it so hard it feels forced.

It's complicated: Felix

Holy hell this is a TOXIC relationship. But I'm weak, y'all. If you want angst, nothing, absolutely nothing tops these two morons. They're 100% that pairing I absolutely die for in fiction and can't get enough of in fanfiction, but good God in real life, no fucking way. Anyways, there is just so much to unpack here that I feel their relationship deserves its own write up. The fact Felix is the only character in the game who gets majorly different endings when he leaves his house and only ever is happy when Dimitri survives is just the tip of the iceberg. Even their paired ending is full of unresolved yearning. HOW. Only held back because I really would've liked an A+ support.

Super sweet: Marianne

They only have three support conversations and a paired ending, but not a moment of that is wasted. Some highlights include Dimitri NOT telling Marianne to just smile or be happy, Dimitri LISTENING when Marianne tells him to stay away, rescue romance (between C and B), mutual relief when they discover someone who feels the same way they do rather than just trying to change them to fit someone else's idea of normal, mutual healing together without being dependent on each other, seeing two sad characters who deserve the world get such a happy paired ending together. Did I mention that paired ending? I almost cried. They both deserve all the happiness and that the writers let them get it by pairing them together. Yes. Only held back because they literally only get three conversations and end ending, please fix this Three Hopes.

I literally cannot: Dedue

Everyone knew this would be number one. Someone once told me on here they thought Dedue got wrote out of part 2 so much because the writers saw what they created and went "oh, shit, how is he supposed to get Byleth?" Their co-dependency, difference in stations, complications given what Faerghus did to Duscur, and Dedue's refusal to be Dimitri's friend (in part 1), gives it some good angst, but there's sweetness to balance it that Felix/Dimitri doesn't have. Their A-support is mutual gushing, they're both just two big (terrifying) teddy bears, and Dimitri's reaction when Dedue returns in part 2 makes me cry. But, it's got that bit of spice I mentioned earlier to keep it from venturing into the too sweet area like Marianne and Dimitri could dip into. The backstory between them is so interesting, even outside of AM, these two don't separate. They get "moments" in every. single. fucking. route. Dedue broke Dimitri out of prison and just . . . there's just so much here. They also suit each other so well. Dedue even said he knew the real Dimitri all along and STILL LOVED HIM ANYWAYS. How can you not ship this? How often do you find the bodyguard with a crush/loyal knight when the guarded person is equally infatuated from the get go? So often these kinds of things seem lopsided, but not here, no way. Dimitri returns every inch of Dedue's loyalty in full. And I cannot just cannot with them. That the screenshots from Three Hopes confirms that's Dedue's hand on Dimitri's? Dead. I'm actually dead. Not seriously. But yes.

Tom Hardy Movies rated least to most queer

I made a list of some Tom Hardy movies and I rated them based on my own, non-specific criteria about what makes a movie queer. Results below the cut.

(Some films not included, because I haven’t watched them yet, because Mr Hardy’s only in them for a few minutes, because the subject matter doesn’t lend itself to this list, or because I just don’t want’em here. TV series also not included. The list is organised into both groups and ratings, because I’m doing The Most.)

Movies are divided into four groups and rated from 0 – 10 on the Queer-Scale, scroll down to the bottom if you want the ratings without the commentary.

Disclaimer: This list is subjective. Don’t come at me because I didn’t rate Inception higher, Nolan himself is as queer as cargo shorts. 

1. This movie would make more sense if it were queer

If this movie were queer it… might not become a perfect film all of a sudden, but it’d make a hell of a lot more sense than what’s actually going on. With an occasional dose of “are the cis-straights okay?”

This Means War (2012): So Chris Pine and Tom Hardy are ostensibly both in love with Reese Witherspoon, but say “I love you” to each other pretty much constantly throughout the movie and their friendship is often presented as a domestic partnership. Cool, cool, cooool.

Queer Rating: 2 out of 10. This movie hate-crimed me by having Tom Hardy literally spell out his relationship with Chris Pine, only for the script to then have him say… “can you imagine all that… but with a woman…” Later on the movie explicitly denies polyamory is possible. Fuck this film.

The Dark Knight Rises (2012): Batman movies should always be queer. Mr. Hardy’s the only one who acceptably camps it up, despite Nolan’s best attempts to make him “acceptably gruff.” No matter what you do, Bane is a massive daddy in a mask and thanks to Mr Hardy’s honestly iconic fucking speech pattern in this film, it goes from pretty atrociously straight to just queer enough to imagine a future where Robert Pattinson plays batman and maybe adopts a bunch of kids.

(the only truly decent mask in this franchise tbh)

Queer Rating: 3 out of 10. Mr Hardy’s back is the one that’s actually broken carrying any semblance of fun in this overly long movie all on his own.

Lawless (2012): Wow, this really was the year of the not-queer-enough, wasn’t it? Look, it’s “based on a real story,” but it’s also a movie and movies don’t need to stick to the truth, and this one certainly doesn’t. Was the guy queer in real life? I don’t know. But that doesn’t matter, what matters is that it’s just kind of an eh movie and maybe being queer would add something to it. One of those “but why make someone queer? because it’s always more interesting to do so,” movies.

Queer Rating: 3 out of 10. It’s just not queer. But Tom Hardy wears cardigans and described his character as a “mother figure,” which adds an interesting dynamic to him.

2. Actually Queer but in a homophobic way

Tom Hardy plays a canonically queer character, yaaay. The whole movie contains a strange sense of the director being too not-queer to actually engage with that and everything around him is almost aggressively straight, noooo.

RocknRolla (2008): Honestly this movie has the funniest coming out scene ever + that familiar undertone of “all these manly men secretly want to fuck each other” is only heightened by one of them actually being gay and in love with his best friend. It’s such a fucking… it’s such a movie. Personally I find Mark Strong, Idris Elba, Thandie Newton, and, of course, Tom Hardy to be really hot in it, so that’s a plus. There’s a scene in which Strong’s character teaches another gangster how to do a proper backhand. It’s really gay of him. Also slow-dancing at a gay club. Butler’s character needs to get himself together, you really don’t think 2008 Tom Hardy is hot? Mate.

Queer Rating: 6 out of 10, for having an actual gay character who is played by Tom Hardy doing a sexy phonecall voice to another guy, but then there’s that feeling you can’t shake that the whole movie is vaguely uncomfortable about it, like a family member awkwardly patting you on the shoulder after they found out you were queer second-hand, but they’ve still got 50 years of bias to unlearn. Also Thandie Newton is killed, fuck that noise. 

Legend (2015): If I had a nickle for the amount of times Tom Hardy’s played a gay gangster, I’d have two nickles. Which isn’t a lot, but weird that it happened twice (looks at Peaky Blinders and thinks it ought to be three times). I’ve watched Legend three times and every time it just… loses me. And because this is a biased list, I’ll only specifically mention that it fails to make Ron’s queerness anything but a way for him to shock others. Gangsters could be gay? Gasp! On the upside Tom Hardy has so much sexual tension with everyone in this movie, including himself (why would you do that? Asks Ron, bemused. Because I can’t kill you, no matter how much I fucking want to, hisses a blood-soaked Reggie right into his ear. It’s hot).

Queer rating: 5 out of 10 because the film is just not very queer for a movie with several queer men in it.

3. Straight as a forced family dinner

It’s straight.

Locke (2013): He’s a married man who had an affair and trying to deal with the fallout of it. This isn’t a spoiler for most of the movie, it’s a pretty neat movie where we look at Tom Hardy having a bit of a mental breakdown and taking lots of phonecalls (my personal hell). Is it queer? Not in the slightest.

Queer Rating: 2 out of 10 for Hardy’s face being in almost every shot.

The Revenant (2015): Yeah, yeah, DeCaprio’s and Hardy’s characters are obsessed with each other, yeah it’s a man’s world where the only women are dead wife, kidnapped sexually assaulted native princess, or background whore, yeah, they fight each other and there’s a ton of grunting, but also… I just fucking don’t like this movie. The thin line where a storyline like this one becomes queer might be crossed for others, but not for me. Fuck these guys and their stupid  bear fights.

Queer rating: 3 out of 10 for it being about dirty men in the middle of nowhere (but you could just watch Brokeback Mountain or The Lighthouse or God’s Own Country or any Mad Max, or, or, or…)

4. Queer? Queer. Queer? … Queer…

The plots, aesthetics and/or characters played by Tom Hardy lend themselves to a queer reading, even if there is no overt intention towards queerness. Often this is because of a deliberate lack of heterosexual and/or cisgender writing, which in this day and age is still pretty uncommon not to include within a plot.

Inception (2010): Okay, I don’t even need to write about the added “darling,” or the “go to sleep Mr Eames.” I don’t need to go on about the absolutely bonkers amount of fanfiction written for Eames and Arthur, based on a few minutes of film and a boatload of chemistry. It’s queer.

Queer Rating: 7 out of 10, because the actual plot of the film isn’t very queer, but between the Arthur/Eames dynamic and Elliot Page, Nolan was really given a gift he didn’t deserve.

Warrior (2011): Okay, so first off, this might be my favourite Tom Hardy film, at least some part of my brain is fixated on it at almost all times and I’m considering watching it for the third time in two weeks. I don’t only consider it queer based on Mr. Hardy’s character, although he has no romantic or sexual interest and could be read as aroace, but because of the themes, especially those surrounding said character, who is coded as a caregiver to women and through close emotional connections to men. It’s got possibly unintentional deconstructions of masculinity and two men (brothers) who need to forgive each other and can only do so through the catharsis of violence. It speaks to me as a transmasc with several cis brothers, struggling with my own masculinity. It’s not at all written for me, but I find myself all over it. I could talk about this movie forever.

Queer Rating: 8 out of 10. I’m not allowed to say any more or I’ll never stop writing about it. I love you Tommy…

The Drop (2014): Bob’s lack of sexual and/or romantic interest in Naomi is so strange to her that she doesn’t know what he would want from her otherwise. Bob really just wants to raise a dog with her (and also forgiveness for past sins). Bob is such a rare ace and possibly aro coded character, it really throws me every time I watch this film how obvious it is. Bonus points for also being autistic-coded and not in the stereotypical ways.

Queer Rating: 9 out of 10 because it’s so fucking rare to see ace and aro coded characters that aren’t, you know…. serial killers. Also Tom Hardy adopts a puppy and has a very cute, kinda lispy voice. How often does Tom Hardy play softer men like this?

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015): Very deliberately no sexual or romantic writing included in Max’s and Furiosa’s relationship. Sure, there’s not a lot of time for that in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, but it was also done with a purpose! “It was always going to be two warriors on par, starting off with very little respect for each other and ending up with a massive respect for each other.” - Charlize Theron. “So of course they meet, of course there’s a relationship, an unspoken understanding. A recognition.” - Tom Hardy.

Queer Rating: 9 out of 10. It’s not just the characters, but the world and it’s apocalyptic BDSM leather scene, the questions it asks about sustainability and about people as tools, and the found family. It’s about overcoming violence through multiple kinds of love. And it’s about watching a guy playing flame-thrower guitar. What could be queerer?

Venom (2018): Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same… No, but Eddie is queer. The only question is whether the sequel will acknowledge that aspect or not, but even if not. Even if it manages to straightly bypass the reality of a symbiotic relationship with a genderless? genderfluid? being from another world that is linked to you down to your very cells and understands you more intimately than any other person possibly could… even if all that: Eddie is queer. Venom and Eddie are in a relationship. Any relationship Eddie ever enters into will automatically become a thrupple. He makes out with Venom in the movie! Eddie is queer.

Queer Rating: 9.5 out of 10, because it’s still coded by the creators in the language of bromance (hey, bro, is it gay if we’re physically and emotionally closer than any other people on earth?), but the movie is so, so camp and Mr Hardy’s acting choices are beautiful – the screaming? The lispy soft voice and lack of taking up space? The lobster tank? The only people who don’t know how queer this is are the people making it apparently. Fingers crossed for that sequel!

Hon. mentions:

Star Trek: Nemesis (2002): Star Trek – even at it’s worst (especially at its worst?) – is camp af + Hardy is a straight-up baby in this film.

Bronson (2008): It’s about a real person who’s still alive, so I won’t comment on the actual man. However the film seems to code the character Bronson along an ace line and also has genderqueering Vaudeville. Someone let Tom Hardy do more of whatever was going on in those stage-bits.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011): Another ensemble piece not massively about Hardy’s character, but it’s a movie that centers around queerness in a strange, depressing way. Tom Hardy’s character isn’t queer. Colin Firth and Mark Strong are though. The book makes me cry.

Peaky Blinders (2013-): Because it’s a TV series I left it out. There’s a lot of straight nonsense going on there, but Alfie Solomens is gay. There’s nothing in the series that disputes that and plenty that lends itself to the reading.

Dunkirk (2017): Tom Hardy plays an RAF pilot in a deep emotional connection with the other main RAF pilot. That’s immediately gay. However he’s not in the movie much because of the way it’s constructed, so I left it off.

Hey love, so I'm rewatching the show I'm thinking about the characters that haven't been paired up yet lmfao and there are some really great possible combinations here, I'd love it if we get a wlw couple maybe Isobel and Rosa or Isobel and Maria or even rosa and Maria, all three ave very intriguing to me. Isobel and Rosa had some great chemistry in those flashback scenes even though technically it wasn't Isobel the actor chemistry is still there, Isobel and Maria have an interesting if underdeveloped dynamic and Maria and Isobel could serve some friends to lovers excellence we don't have that on the show. As for Kyle, I also see him with either Isobel or Maria tbh, they would both serve, I would also love it if he was bi/pan and he had a male love interest. This is one of those rare shows where almost all the characters could be paired up in interesting ways( although I didn't necessarily ship them Liz/Kyle Maria/Michael and Kyle/Alex had wonderful chemistry in different ways as well) I would also love it if we had an ot3, there have barely been a couple of decent ones in anything ever, like that would would so good, an actual polyamorous loving relationship. The possibilities are endless I just hope they're not afraid to go there because while we're making strides in representation 99% if they already have a queer relationship will not have another one and if they do go there fingers crossed they back it up with good writing, it would be such a waste if they didn't take advantage of the overflowing chemistry between everyone, when it comes to friendships too, I want to see more interactions between everyone, strangers things has an even bigger cast of main characters and fewer episodes and they manage to give some beautiful platonic relationships. It would work here too where we have people in pairs or threes working on something together for a few episodes and then switch it up and then everyone teams up for the last 2 or three. Lol sorry for the long essay I just see endless potential because of how great and diverse the cast is as well as the possibilities mystery and overarching plot, the show has been decent so far, handling some things far better than others but it could be so much better in my opinion.

I'm really not someone to condemn an age gap, I just think that Rosa has so much on her plate, and she still has so many experiences to make, if they'd both be 10 years older respectively (and Rosa had had a chance to grow up, find a job she likes, make some life experiences of her own etc) it would for much better for me. Anyway, Lily and Amber definitely have chemistry, so who knows. I'm here for allllllllll the wlw pairings! \0/

I'm a strictly Kylex BroTP person, so that's not a pairing I'd want to see explored romantically, however, I really digged Kyle and Max sleuthing together last season! That was surprisingly good, and they had great chemistry.

And Isobel and Kyle? HELL YEAH. Sadly their best scene is from that cursed episode I'll never in my life touch again, but I've always been a huge Kybel fan. Although I have to say that Kyliz is my OTP. I know, I know, they'll never be endgame, but I love them together. And while I'm DYING to see Isobel exploring her sapphic side, Belmanes has grown so near and dear to my heart, I'm not yet willing to let go of the idea of them ending up together. 🥺

Kyle and Maria could be interesting, no idea whether the show's going to pair off more main characters with each other tho. We'll see.

And while I absolutely don't mind OT3s, I'm not exactly yearning for one tbh. And honestly, after the absolute WORST way to force one on us last season, I'm kinda violently opposed to the idea of this show ever getting another shot at pairing three people together.

I'd rather they focus on writing decent storylines for the core 8, write an EXCEPTIONAL COSMIC love story for Malex, and otherwise put in the effort of telling good love stories for the other characters - especially when they are queer storylines.

i mean, starting off pretty strong with my favorite eskam couple. oh god. THEM. as someone who cannot stomach season 2 and also skipped william's clip and william's clip only when season 4 of skam came to an end... i will ALWAYS love what eskam did for this couple. i think i explain it pretty well on my season 3 review, but to sum up those thoughts: i think this is what noorhelm was truly supposed to be, they're both pretty flawed characters with great arcs who make their get-together super interesting and organic, alejandro is my baby and the most developed william and i'll die on this hill, etc.

especially i think that norandro, for a ship that got way less screentime that all their other counterparts, is by FAR the most developed couple in all of them and up there in eskam too, and although they weren't the focus of most of the show, it's clear as day that the writers really tried to tell a compelling story with these two - and they succeeded. it's shocking to me that eskam actually got to link the "everyone is fighting a battle" motto that has become a meme for how poorly incorporated it is on the skamverse, as alejandro effectively behaved around that motto: during season 3 and onwards, which is where i believe he's fully reformed as a character and love interest, he never hurts nora - nor anyone - in any way. he struggles to tell nora how he doesn't want a relationship because he doesn't want to hurt her, and in the miscommunication fest that their first clip of s3 is, i've always LOVED that nora calls alejandro a "fuckboy" still, and he's clearly annoyed by this, but doesn't bite back. he's always so mindful of her feelings even though he's struggling himself, BECAUSE he understands that his suffering is not the center of the world! because treating people with kindness is a strength in itself! and it continues like that for the rest of the season. like, at his most petty, he just sends a text to nora calling her a "fuckboy", which is honestly hilarious. he deals with a lot of jealousy because of nora's new relationship, yet he values her friendship so much that he never snaps at her, he never lets it show when he's talking to her, and he's never passive-aggressive about it - you can tell that he's so genuinely glad that they're still friends after all. god, the clip where he realizes that miquel is a shit boyfriend while he's talking to nora... imagine the things any other william would've said there. imagine the ways alejandro could've been petty or overprotective and fuck everything up. instead, he recognizes nora needs space and even though it hurts to be away from her, he does it because he understands it's what she needs - and his own feelings and entitlement (that he previously showed, too!) aren't the most important thing. it's beautiful. UGH. what a great character eskam crafted, there.

i like them well enough in s4, too. i think, for what they had to work with, they took them in a good direction and their happy ending feels deserved. it's just that... personally, i wish there was more introspection of nora's aftermath in s3, which is also one of my complaints with season 3 - and where characters like emma could've been SO good. although i understand the intentions, a lot of nora's internal turmoil regarding her abusive relationship with miquel are only tied to her desire to be with alejandro. it's frustrating that it became so boy-focused when the girl squad was the center of the emotional climax of nora's season. to me, the solution is still in giving the pov's to the girl squad and not... random characters lol, but oh well. i think eskam did good there and i still love this couple the most!!! i just wish there was an universe where their story doesn't have to be wrapped up in one season and we can get actual glimpses of a beautiful slow burn where they can finally get together and make their relationship work - and this is where the fanfic part comes in, i guess! as someone who loves the couple, i liked seeing them lovey-dovey in the background of s4, but also i wouldn't have been too mad if they held off from making them completely canon and only hinted their status as endgame, kinda how they did with eva and jorge. oh, and speaking of eva, i guess...

NOREVA:

i guess, the main thing with them is that i love norandro so much that i can't really see nora with any other love interest??????? now, platonically. UGH. 12/10. anyone who's seen season 3 should know and i shouldn't even have to explain it tbh. i love the focus that is put on their friendship and how emotionally charged it is when it comes to miquel and the aftermath of all that. like, a similar thing is done with norandro - because at that point, nora and alejandro were exclusively friends, but it becomes even more relevant when it's about eva. eva who, you know, was in a toxic relationship herself. i love that she herself brings up her relationship with jorge when she's talking about miquel, and how wary she is of everything that happening. the fact that she's the first one to sense it feels so right!!! i love that eskam really made them close and gave them the window scene, which is both so powerful on its message and a true love letter to female friendships.

i think eva is a really underrated eskam character as it is, like... people really don't understand how great of a character she is and how much she's grown. they are quick to call her a boring, ooc party girl once s2 rolls around, like eskam didn't spend TIME making eva herself declare that hooking up with cristian (and cristian ONLY!) was something she did out of fun and she was decided to stop as soon as it stopped being fun for her. moreover, eva is such a perceptive person: she's been that way since s1 and it has only carried across for the entirety of the show since then. and when pairing two really good characters together, like eva and nora, you really can't go wrong. their friendship brings great things out of both of them and it goes through its own arc during nora's season, whereas other seasons either dump eva as noora's bff midway through or just make them really close to introduce character drama but don't really do anything to their dynamic as it is.

romantically... sigh. i'm sorry LOL as much as i love girls kissing and wlw romance done right... i don't see potential for this relationship outside their platonic dynamic. which is, btw, incredibly strong and beautiful. i'm super contented with how eskam handled their friendship and therefore i wouldn't want anything else from them, and it's not like nooreva where the chemistry was THERE. however! i'm always open to see people's interpretations of what romantic noreva could be. wasn't it you who wrote that beautiful fic of nora realizing she's bi and falling for eva after season 3? because now THAT'S the shit i'm looking for. i think there's a lot of potential there which i'd like to see explored in fic, but other than that, i love their relationship how it is and i've never felt a desire to see them as each other romantic interests.

AMIRIS:

first things first: why did eskam NEVER confirm cris having an embarrassing, sweet, confusing childhood crush on amira? i mean, it's my headcanon that she'll later realize it and she'll jolt awake and think "holy FUCK" but like... it's a thing that isaks are into their jonases. why didn't it happen here :(((((

being honest, childhood friends to lovers has never been my thing? a simple friends to lovers doesn't do it for me: i like my relationships rocky, with lots of character moments and whose survival and success depend only on the people involved making efforts to change and do better. if you've seen s4... yeah, that's not really the case. it's just disappointing because damn, amiris is the realest thing indeed, but also... what case are the writers doing for them? because it was only irene and hajar doing the intense gazing and bringing all the chemistry home. s4 cris is a mess and a half, and while i like the idea of the bench scene featuring both of them, and being more about cris reminding amira the reasons she's made it this far instead of lecturing her about sucking it up better... the result is still lackluster. there are SO many issues on their friendship that were introduced and then dropped, and it's really nice that cris finally is there to comfort amira when shit goes down, it truly is! but what else is there? it's just a small part of s4 being a bunch of missed potential. they could've REALLY done something great with their relationship and bring back and close cris' development in the show, but we only got... well, nothing. back to 0. amira has to live with those problems, now. things like that really make it seem like once amira broadens her horizons, she won't really go back to her friendship with the girls, and cris will be a lingering wound of the past. oh well.

ehem. romantically!!!!!!! as i said, cris was totally crushing on amira at some point. like... canon really makes a point at making cris' brother amira's love interest, where dani has nothing to offer to amira than cris hasn't done yet. iftar on a rooftop? ha, loser, cris did it first. admiring her passion and her faith? cris does it arguably way better than dani. longtime pining? dude. go home. okay, i'll cut dani soto some slack since it's not about him lol. point is, if amira was charmed by all of those things, then what tells me that the option of her and cris being a thing is off the table? at the end of the day, they're indeed a relationship that needs a lot of work and patience to last. the 500k slow burn is writing itself, really.

(regardless of amiris' future, i still think irene and hajar have to do a cute romcom romance at some point. their chemistry is off the charts.)

omg hello hello!! this is weird I haven't gotten an ask in years lol anyways I've watched kdramas on and off for a long time so here’s a list of old/new shows that are memorable to me in no particular order~~~

1) do you like brahms?- man oh man as an introvert, this drama just slapped me with all the relatability. It has the perfect balance of melo, angst, and swoon. 10/10 would watch again just to see my bbies Kim min jae and Park Eun Bin get all heart eyes for each other :’) 

2) coffee prince- a true classic- u simply can’t call yourself a kdrama fan if u haven’t watched this one

3) misaeng- if u want fluffy, don't watch this lol it’s v realistic and painful but like..in a good way, highly recommend- acting and character development is top notch

4) because this is my first life- so so so good! one of the few dramas out there that actually do justice to both the main couple & it’s side characters!!

5) crash landing on you- I binged watch this in like a day and thank god that I started it when all the eps came out bc I would have prob dropped it since the later eps get kinda ridiculous tbh. regardless, u get chemistry! wonderful ost! hyun bin! Switzerland landscape! all chef’s kiss!!

5) reply series- I didn’t watch the second season, but the first and third are wonderful (even if my otp didn't make it in the third season.. still not over it)

6) hospital playlist- v wholesome. great friendship, fucking hilarious, ost is amazing. just an overall good show to watch

7) the secret life of my secretary- this came out like a year ago and had a bunch of ridiculous kdrama tropes which normally would make me drop a show BUT the actors had top notch chemistry and it just somehow worked. v fluffy and cute

8) my girl- I think this might be one of the first dramas I watched like waaayyy back so it’s very close to my heart. loved Lee Dong wook ever since hehehee

9) Scarlett heart ryeo- If u like to suffer like me, watch this. V painful. Don't get attached to any characters- that’s all I gotta say about this one

10) Gangnam beauty- real good, shows the crazy side of unattainable beauty standards and expectations for women in Korea (and honestly everywhere else) also if you like dramas where the male lead is just oh so smitten for the girl- this one is for u

11) extraordinary you- I recently just watched this as my “distraction drama” while waiting for new dylb episodes but ended up binging anyways bc its so funny and cute??? Like I love how they make fun of drama tropes so much it’s literally such a fresh plot line and the actress is great!! I feel like it’s hard to pull off her character but she balanced the aegyo/ bubblehead/ sympathetic character so well that it didn’t come off as annoying. V recommended

12) the idle mermaid- okay so from what I remember they cancelled this one so the ending was v abrupt but this drama was actually so good during its run!! I’m still pissed the episodes were cut down bc the storyline literally went from 0-100 real quick- but not in a good storytelling way lol. it had so much potential but I don’t think it got enough views or something so tvn said bye byeeee

13) suspicious partner- this is prob the only one on this list that I truly loved in the first half but dropped by like ep 14?? ji chang wook and nam ji hyun’s chemistry was simply radiating off the screen but the story line just kinda got mehhh by the end for me tbh and I ended up reading the recaps to see what happened in the end...I watched this as the episodes were coming out so if I was able to binge watch I would have prob finished it. regardless, the first 3/4 of this drama is truly superb, thus I’m gonna add it on the list

UPDATE: 2020 got me quarantined and watching so much kdramas- here’s more

14) Uncanny Counter- no romantic plot but my god this show is so good and action packed and heartwarming

15) Into the Ring- I did not hear about this drama at all when it was airing which is such a shame!!!! I saw a YouTube fan made video of it and got curious and my god this show is so fuckin good!!! The balance of comedy, politics and romance was superb. Gong and Sera are prob one of the best romantic couples in kdrama land. They got together pretty early to kdrama standards and normally you’d expect there to be a subplot where they’d break up or some shit but the writers said nah and we luv to see it :)) so many small intimate and mundane moments between our couple making my heart melt and all. If u like soft bois this one is for you!!!! Want a gong myself :’)

Love Interests of the MCU

A problem in the MCU, to be honest. We’ll get into this here and you’ll see what I mean.

Jane Foster, MCU: An airhead, breathy absent-minded professor astrophysicist. Ok, cool, a STEAM lady.... who is constantly a damsel in distress in both movies and really adds nothing to Thor’s mythos or character. In fact, Erik Selvig is a more important character being set up in Thor to be a pawn of Loki’s for Avengers. Darcy Lewis is a more interesting character AND SHE’S SIDE CHARACTER AS WELL. (For those following MCU: SHE IS IN WANDAVISION for crying out loud)

And both Selvig and Darcy have less screen time than Jane. I don’t blame the actress, because I think Natalie Portman is very talented. But that role can only give you so much to work with when your entire personality is ‘I’m an astrophysicist and absent-minded professor trope.’ That’s it? That’s all Jane Foster is? ‘Cause that’s all I ever got from her.

Seriously you’re going to waste Natalie Portman on such a shallow role?

Comics Jane Foster: A well-trained EMT (Or Nurse, but still) who immediately runs toward danger to help people, is a damsel out of distress trope, doesn’t take crap from men, is a fan of cricket, regularly also fought with Thor’s enemies (as in comics Thor was not originally god-Thor but Donald Blake, who was worthy enough to use Thor’s hammer). Was not afraid to sass or stand up to heroes (or villains!) who harassed her after she found out Thor’s identity. Hmmm...

Christine Palmer, MCU: A surgeon at the same place Strange works at! Who likes him, because they work together! Totally not afraid to stand up to him even though lots of people already call him out on his arrogance and egomania. Dated in the past but somehow together again, and has no personality beyond ‘surgeon’ and ‘ex-girlfriend who gives speech to remind ex that life is about [insert moral here]’

WOW. SO INTERESTING. I TOTALLY REMEMBERED THAT SHE EXISTED

Also what a waste of Rachel McAdams talents. I mean she got THIRD BILLING AND SHE’S BARELY IN THE FUCKING MOVIE.

VS

Clea, Comics: Princess of the Dark Dimension and Niece of Dormammu and ALSO DR. STRANGE’S IN-COMICS WIFE. She’s so well known as his love interest that at first I thought that’s what they were going to go for in his movie, esp with Rachel McAdams as the Third Billed ACTOR. But yeah, Clea, traditional love interest, super magically potent, likes earth, hates her evil uncle, just wants to learn more magic and live with Strange.

BUT NO HOW COULD WE POSSIBLY HAVE A FEMALE CHARACTER WITH ACTUAL POWERS. IT TAKES US UNTIL FUCKING AGE OF ULTRON TO GET WANDA, THOR 3 TO GET VALKYRIE AND YEARS (FUCKING YEARS) TO GET CAPTAIN MARVEL

Not that the others did not take years, but Carol only showed up RIGHT around the time Christianized Wonder Woman showed up in Snyderverse...

Clea’s comics personality isn’t that different from any of these other characters, but honestly, the MCU could’ve done a lot with her and used a character far more well connected to Strange in his own fucking movie.

Nakia: Again, an ex-girlfriend who used to work for T’Challa but couldn’t due to [insert morality speech here] and now, suddenly, they are back together! Because T’Challa is doing things! Wonder what comics Nakia is like...

OH YIKES OK MOVIE IMPROVED HER, THEY IMPROVED HER SO MUCH. (Comics Nakia: 16 year old obsessive/possessive supervillain and yeeeeaaah that’s just....No. Big ol’ NOPE). Still I forget she exists. Tbh I’d forget Okoye exists either if she wasn’t HAVING MORE SCREEN TIME THAN THE LOVE INTEREST.

I’m starting to notice a trend here...

Monica Lynne, Comics: A more major love interest for Black Panther and more tied to his mythos. Arguably his most used Love Interest that isn’t Storm who is legally not allowed to be in the MCU anyway so she is unavailable for BP, which is a fucking shame. Personality wise, not much different, but Lynne isn’t as tied to Wakanda as any of the others.

Honestly I don’t know all that much about Black Panther so if anyone else does and wants to weigh in on a better love interest choice (THAT IS NOT STORM), please tag me.

Further, though, Monica could have given a deeper view into the complex experience of being a successful black woman in America to contrast with Erik’s storyline and have T’Challa hear more than just one singular experience.

But that’s just a hot take on my part.

Pepper Potts:

There’s no VS here because Virginia “Pepper” Potts is arguably the absolute closest MCU came to matching up with her comics counterpart. Fiery, intelligent, doesn’t take Tony’s shit and calls him on it, doesn’t take anyone’s shit toward her. She’s a bit more tame in the MCU and wildly OOC in Iron Man 3 so I don’t count that movie as canon, but honest to god, there’s nothing bad to say here about her character adaptation. A good job was done.

Hope Van Dyne: Again, a very good adaptation; most likely taking different characters together so because her comics counterparts are two separate entities, Hope has to be judged solely on her movie version. Her and Scott have good chemistry, she’s a good character in her own right. Only suffers from the trope of ‘Defrosting Ice Queen’ which you can tell because her hair and makeup get less severe as she ‘defrosts’

Better in the first movie than the second, where even though HER NAME WAS IN THE TITLE AS ‘THE WASP’ she was barely in it and sidelined by all the villains and side characters. For those interested, theories believe she is pulled from Nadia Pym (616 verse) and Hope Pym (982 verse)

Sif: Thor’s other in-comics and in-myth love interest/sometimes wife, absolutely side-lined, never given more than a few lines in any movie and despite having a supposedly epic backstory, we never see it. No one questions what the FUCK happened to Sif in Thor 3 because she has mysteriously vanished with Thor giving 0 fucks about where his remaining childhood friend went since she is the only one NOT KILLED OFF UNCEREMONIOUSLY (A different rant for a different problem)

So what’s there to say but why even include her as part of a love triangle if her absence is so unnotable that no one cares what happens to her

Gamora: Again, I’m not as familiar with her character, but like Pepper she seems to be a good adaptation, if made less of an anti-hero/villain in the MCU and given a bit of a softer side. Her romance with Star-Lord/Peter Quill is weak, however. Might be because of the actors but I don’t really see it? She has more emotional moments with her sister than ANYONE ELSE (Up until Infinity War with Quill and Thanos meeting)

The main problem we are running into, however, is look at this list. Look at how many female characters who are the love interest are demoted to be SOLELY THAT ROLE.

Please discern the difference for me, IN PERSONALITY between Christine Palmer and Jane Foster. Because aside from their professions, I don’t see any, do you? The fact that a good chunk of female characters in the MCU are the Love Interest and solely the love interest is....bad

It’s bad. It’s poor writing and it has consistently been done to more female characters than male. I just don’t see why the writers can’t do this basic thing.

1. Create/Adapt Character A as a full, three dimensional character

2. Create/Adapt Character B as a full, three dimensional character

3. Put A and B together romantically if they click

DONE. SIMPLE. EASY.

• it was the matching first impressions vs reality that influenced me the most to put you together !! you both appear intimidating at first but in truth you're different and a lot more than what people make of you.

• i also think you can be a positive influence on Nekozawa. he is not good with people but your free-spirited nature encourages him to try a bit harder ♡︎

• he was looking for members for the black magic club when you first met. he asked you to join, expecting to be let down again, but then you agreed!

• instead of finding him creepy you thought he was an interesting character and that the club could be fun. plus, the Beelzenef puppet was cute; you got your own（ΦωΦ）

• through club activities you got to know each other and grew close. Nekozawa was scared to take the subject elsewhere than black magic at first, but soon learnt you share your love for cats and horror, and dislike for crowds.

• he felt like someone finally understood him outside his family and liked him despite his strange ways.

• likes to talk about your interests as well as the languages you speak. though into the supernatural, Nekozawa probably educated himself on science so he would know how seperate the two. now he's glad it's come in handy again.

• was admittedly taken off-guard by your change of character. you began teasing him playfully and pulling harmless pranks on him, and boy was just extremely confused????

• until he understood that's how you show you think of him as someone close. he cried.

• with you his days became more lively, and he learnt to enjoy himself. finds it hardcore that you can be a bit sadistic. a good trait for cursing people!

• once taught you russian to scare Tamaki who was convinced you were putting a voodoo spell on him.

• "mommy, there's two of them now!!!"

• you can't tell me wasn't crushing on you for months before he finally tried to do something about it. his dark soul could not handle the fluffy and fuzzy feelings consuming his being.

• proceeded to make the mistake of asking the host club for help and utterly embarrassed himself when trying to confess to you. it was chaos.

• you had to chase him down for two weeks before he agreed to show his face to you again.

• the rest is history. welcome to the dark side (ฅº￦ºฅ)

• your dates usually take place indoors because you both prefer it that way. despite his photophobia, Nekozawa occasionally manages to overcome his extreme goth levels to visit the aquarium with you.

• you skip school parties to practice black magic and tell stories in the dark, candle-lit club room. most students just assume you're in a cult now.

• the best person to share your drawings and writing with. he gets excited about everything you're willing to show him and actually gives great feedback, especially if it's magic or horror related.

• writes you dark and romantic poems. leaves them for you to find sometimes with a black rose next to the piece of paper ♥︎

• also says i love you by telling you to stay safe whenever you go outside and he can't come with you.

• you have to insinuate anything beyond hand-holding for a while though, because as much as Nekozawa wants to show you physical affection, he's too shy.

• you stop doing it though eventually, just to tease him, so you're surprised when he awkwardly nuzzles Beelzenef against your cheek.

• he got paranoid and thought you lost interest in him to be with the host club

• just kiss the puppet back and he's happy for the next three days. when embarrassed or shy he'll also use the puppet to convey his emotions. you've come to be a pro at reading puppet expressions.

• romantically your relationship advances slow and steady. it's very stong, built from lots of memories, trust and mutual understanding.

• tbh he doesn't need the sun when he's got you to brighten up his life ♥︎

Eva Sharpe:

1) What was the first element of your OC that you remember considering (name, appearance, backstory, etc.)?

Probably like personality and her role in the story as I usually come up with names last as they’re not reallyyy my strong point (at all), I knew I needed a kinda average character to almost just react to the story at first who would grow more once introduced to the more supernatural aspects of the plot 

2) Did you design them with any other characters/OCs from their universe in mind?

Yes, definitely, she wasn’t the first character to come to mind, I kind of built her off of the characters of Life and Death, knowing I needed a more relatable and less ‘larger-than-life” character who would act as common ground between the two personalities, but she kinda developed off of there and got more of an interesting personality

3) How did you choose their name?

Well, Eva means “full of life” or “living one”, which is symbolic of her place as the main human character, rather than being a spirit and the surname Sharpe comes from an Olde English word, which means “keen, active and quick” but this is all completely fabricated as I wish I was one of those people who put thought into names and I should do but instead, I just pick names I like which is very uninspiring so lets just pretend what I said originally is the truth!

4) In developing their backstory, what elements of the world that they live in played the most influential parts?

Hmmm.... I’m afraid I don’t have a too good answer to this as Eva’s backstory is not really part of the plot other than the whole idea that it was very uninteresting which is what causes her to seek out things that intrigue her.

5) Is there any significance behind their hair color?

Nahh, I just felt brown hair was the right color for her.

6) Is there any significance behind their eye color?

Once again, nope, I just figured brown eyes with brown hair is the most common combination!

7) Is there any significance behind their height?

Not that I’ve thought of so far, she’s pretty average in height, in fact she’s pretty average in all her appearance which is what was intended.

8) What (if anything) do you relate to within their character/story?

I’m not sure I relate to much of her character really, I suppose her desire for something extraordinary to happen to her due to her boredom of her routinely lifestyle is quite a common desire, I can’t say I wouldn’t want something fun and supernatural to happen to me? Who would turn down that!?

9) Are they based off of you, in some way?

Nope, not at all, I don’t really project myself onto characters on a conscious level, it’s usually more like, I’ll be writing a scene and a character will make me think “Oh shit that’s a big mood” but I’m yet to find that with Eva so far.

10) Did you know what the OC’s sexuality would be at the time of their creation?

Not really, and I still don’t tbh, I never really think about characters sexualities as a first thought unless I know for sure they’re gonna have a romantic partner in the plot and/or it will be referenced in some way, otherwise they’re usually just a blank canvas until I think “Man, these two characters would be cute” and even then I won’t necessarily include them as a couple in the story. I haven’t really thought about whether I want to include much romance in this story, if any, I have definitely considered multiple pairings but I shall just have to keep writing and see which characters have the most chemistry.

11) What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)

Definitely writing, I sometimes worry that her speech and the way she talks is indistinguishable from the rest of the characters, as I do with all my OCs.

12) How far past the canon events that take place in their world have you extended their story, if at all?

0% hahaha! I would love to be that knowledgeable on my characters that I am able to do so but I struggle to even work with the canon events themself.

13) If you had to narrow it down to 2 things that you MUST keep in mind while working with your OC, what would those things be?

She HATES not being in the know and SHE NEEDS TO ACTUALLY REACT ENOUGH TO WEIRD THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO HER

14) What is something about your OC that can make you laugh?

Her obsession with finding the truth can be comical at times but she’s not one of the funniest characters in it, in terms of comedy I use her more as a foil to others weird antics.

15) What is something about your OC that can make you cry?

Nothing lmao. I will never cry over this gal.... Yet!

16) Is there some element you regret adding to your OC or their story?

Umm... Not that I can think of.... 

17) What is the most recent thing you’ve discovered about your OC?

She seems to keep ending up sitting on floor when feeling discouraged.

She really wants to come across more ‘cultured’ than she is so she is always trying to learn piano or visit Art Museums... I support her lmao

What is your special talent/skill as a roleplayer?

idfk man. There’s nothing particularly special about my roleplays or anything. Maybe character breakdown? Idk I mean I personally do enjoy breaking down and analysing and developing my characters, and I do like to think I have a bit of a thing for it [I mean, I study theatre. We learn character breakdown and shit there.] But I mean I don’t think my ability is any better or unique or so than other people?

What is your favourite type of roleplay genre, and why?

I think definitely uh.... I hate the word angst -- but genres that require exploring that weaker, more vulnerable side to my muse. I don’t wanna come off as edgy and ‘ugh, I only like dark themes’ and shit. So just to clarify, I also really enjoy roleplaying the sweet romantic and heart warming stuff. I also find myself really getting muse and inspiration when writing more emotionally -- particularly when it is something sad and stuff. I enjoy exploring and developing my muse on that front -- especially bc Feliks is someone who internalises his emotions a lot, so it’s very hard to even get the chance to see these sides of him?  Anything involving arguments between him and Arūnas though always makes me literally cry. It’s terrible.

Why did you pick your muse?

when I saw Fel on screen for the first time, I immediately took him in as my son. When I was just starting to get into roleplay -- I tried a couple of other characters first. Bel.arus and Chi.na. But when I got to Feliks, he was the only one that I felt truly invested in exploring more and wanting to roleplay. I found the other two a little too complicated for me to get into the mindset at the time [and now I just cbf] and Feliks now has grown and developed so much and I have 0 regrets choosing him as my muse, I honestly am proud of myself that I managed to stick with him for so long and developed him in ways I did.

if you could write any other muse - but know you don’t have the muse for him/her - who would it be?

Ukra.ine tbh. I really love her and I think about her a lot -- but I don’t think I could roleplay babusya with enough justice. Also I don’t wanna dedicate my life to another 1000+ years worth of history. 

What is one thing you think you need to work on as a partner?

My time management with replies. I either reply in less than 5 minutes, or more than 3 weeks. No in between.  Also I think length of threads. Sometimes my replies may get too long and I struggle with that.

What would be your warning label to other roleplayers?

I’m a really Salty Gay(tm) and will either cry to you over smth involving Feliks, or I will salt and vent about all kinds of things in the rp comm

What is your favourite episode/scene of your muse?

laffs a lot. I. I can’t bring myself to like much abt him in the show or manga bc of how he is portrayed [def in comparison to my portrayal.] I kinda did enjoy that scene between him and Lithua.nia where they’re sharing legends and stories together.

What crack!ships do you have for your muse?

Thanks to Mar I developed a liking for PolCan tbh. 

What is your senpai blog?

There is one roleplayer I absolutely idolised [and still look up to today ofc.] Quite a few friends of mine know, and I think they themselves know. But I really admire Kaj on their dobrebopolskie, especially back in 2013-14. They inspired me to get back into roleplay, and also to come up with my own interpretation and portrayal, even if it conflicts with canon. To this day I still find it so amazing that I’m actually friends with them and talking to them and stuff? Bc wow 2013 me always thought I was ‘too lame’ to even associate with them.

Ok so I’m a new Roswell fan, I recently got into I it and I have to say what did you think/thoughts about season 2? I personally didn’t really enjoy it, mostly because of Maria/Michael relationship; I thought they didn’t have any chemistry and it kind of made season 2 Blah to me. I hope Season 3 makes up for it.

Mhmmm, loaded question. I didn’t actually watch most of S2 (basically only watched Alex and Malex scenes + some flashbacks) bc there was so much I disliked just reading about. I know what happened, and I watched some additional scenes for better comprehension, but S2 overall is one huge disappointment for me, and I prefer to basically ignore everything that happened, apart from some hand-picked things.

I think the idea behind S2 wasn’t bad in general, but the execution left a lot to be desired. S2 lacked a main arc for most of the season, beloved characters were sidelined (hello, Kyle Valenti), you can pretty much skip S2 in its entirety and not miss out on major knowledge about the aliens, most of the friendships were ignored, some characters felt really OOC at times, Liz was separated from most of the others and was no longer the center of her own show, apart from very few moments the season was total garbage for Malex, and the list goes on.

I’m putting most of the blame on the previous show runner, who with her helicopter parent/control freak tendencies and love of tired tropes and trauma porn did a lot of damage (last minute re-writing of other writers’ scripts, making all the decisions in the cutting room etc). 

So for me personally, S2 is a massive trash fire. There are other fans who loved the season, and that’s o/c just as valid, but I hated most of it, and was rather discouraged for S3 to be any better (esp. in regards to Malex).

But then the most incredible miracle happened: the previous show runner left! And now the show’s in her former co-show runner’s hands. Chris Hollier, an experienced writer and producer, also a known romantic with a knack for sci-fi - sounds good to me tbh!

The cast loves him, and especially Jeanine won’t get tired of singing his praise. S3 seems to be much more of a collaborative experience, and everyone seems to be genuinely excited. 

And going by Vlamis’s and Tyler’s relentless rooting and fanboying for Malex, I expect them to happen in S3, too, so that’s also a good thing. 🥰

I’m probably one of the more/most optimistic people tho, not everyone’s quite on my level of positivity, but it’s what I need to do in order to make it through the hiatus. In case S3 sucks, I’m leaving it to future!me to deal with any disappointment. :P

I don’t think there will be as much major disappointment as there was during S2 tho. S3 won’t be perfect, but I’m fairly certain it’ll be much more coherent, Jeanine recently told a fan during a virtual meet & greet that S3′ll focus a lot on the friendships between the core 8 (which I love sooo much!!!), and the handful of vague spoilers we’re aware of suggest, that there will be a main plot that involves Deep Sky, and maybe the Alighting along the way. And yeah, Malex, I firmly believe they’re going to happen.
