I know that the double entendre in “San-lang” is noted in the other translations, but it really just hit me that one of the hanzi in “bridegroom” (新郎) is the same hanzi in San-lang (三郎), and now I’m just like, hmmm, Hua Cheng really did just slip himself in as the “groom” in that whole first arc, introduced himself as “San-lang” in the second one knowing that Xie Lian would easily put two and two together… and STILL BACKED OUT OF PROPOSING TO HIM IN THE FARMING ARC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The way Leona treats Sally confirms I wrote him properly in the Once Upon A Dream prologue. Mwehehehehehehhe~! VICTORY. Also the fact that he views "strength" as something that's also mental, and not just physical??? Like??? That's... so satisfying.

It's not just muscle, it's not just physical prowess; strength- or what determines someone as strong- is also their mental fortitude and determination do what it takes to reach their goal and the dedication to follow through with it. Sally is constantly fighting for her freedom and he recognizes that, and is such a freaking gentleman to her oh my gods.

Leona supports women's rights and women's wrong, and canonically drinks respect women juice for breakfast. Hot damn.

He's jumped up so high on my list now, like WOWZA. Also he's treating Sally like the queen she absolutely freaking is and for that I may just properly level up the few cards of his that I actually have. HUZZAH. Writing his interactions with El was already going to be interesting, but now it's gonna be doubly interesting because his gentlemanly behavior is actually canon and not just an assumption based off of one vignette- and El has a grudge.

Like, he's gonna give her the same level of respect Jack does but the acknowledge Lilia does of her fighting to survive despite her condition and lack of magic, but gonna be so pissed she's getting in the way of his scheme.

thinking about shawn and juliet. shawn who has a pickup line for any ridiculous situation. shawn who can speak with someone once and is pretty much guaranteed to have them in his bed that night. shawn who NEVER stops talking, but the moment he finally decides to tell juliet how he truly feels about her, he forgets all of it. literally goes speechless.

sure, he loved abigail, but he KNEW he could impress her with the whole silly routine he’s done with every other girl, for as long as she didn’t get tired of it. he knows juliet deserves more than that, but he doesn’t know how to handle that yet.

i’ve noticed that he doesn’t really do the whole psychic bit around just jules unless it’s part of a case. he kept it going for abigail even when he wasn’t working because he knew she liked it and didn’t really know how else to (or really care to find another way to) impress her.

he WANTS to try harder for her, even if he’s ever so slowly realizing it and it makes me want to rip my hair out because i can TELL she knows, but she doesn’t want to be the first one to say it when she feels like she’s already tried so many times only for him to not catch what she’s throwing right past his face.

the thing is that shredder's a much larger beast ... i was basing the scars there directly off how they looked on his battle shell and i think they're just smaller because it was kind of hacking away, whereas raph dug his claws in and just tore like he was trying to rip his shell off (his real one, not his artificial one). it's a miracle donnie didn't die from the blood loss, really
