Do you have any headcannons for Noble team? 👀
Hey there! So I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about Noble Team! I mean, I adore them, of course, but when my mind wanders to them, it inevitably wanders down the mainline story and then tears 😭 Lots of people have written awesome headcanons though, so some may influence my own. Hope you enjoy regardless!
Let’s start off with the most obvious one: Jorge was TOTALLY a big brother/father figure to the others in Noble! He was a Spartan-II with way more experience and training under his belt, and he happens to be one of the most well-adjusted of his group as well. You can be certain that Carter sought out Jorge’s council when he felt doubt (doubt that he would’ve been conflicted by, since he was a Spartan, and Spartans never hesitated) and got some good advice from a weathered professional who’s been in his shoes.
Emile and Kat had this tendency to butt heads when they came to the squad, but Carter was firm in that they don’t resolve it with fists (even though they were both rearing to go) since he wanted the squad to function cohesively; so their solution was to compete in literally everything else. Jun’s sitting there laughing quietly as they fight to finish their mountain of food first while Carter’s thinking letting them break a couple of bones might’ve saved him a life of headaches.
(Jorge is commentating with the rest of the Marines cheering in the background)
Jun is a touchstone for the rest of the team, including Jorge — when times get too hectic, you can find a member of Noble slumped down next to Jun, listening to him polish his gear and conduct maintenance on his weapons. He’s also a great listener, and gives very logical advice.
But if you wanna rage and complain and break shit, Emile’s your guy. He’ll take you to a neck, secluded spot and let you wreak havoc, matching your energy and hyping you up even further until you get some catharsis and feel way better.
He kinda reminds me of Lambert from The Witcher 3 in a lot of ways.
Carter is literally just trying to live his life and yet somehow manages to be a huge magnet for women. After all, he’s tall, handsome and stoic, and a Spartan, which means he’s at peak physical form and saves an uncountable number of lives every day (which Carter himself thinks is excessive, but one can’t control the rumors and takes that spread).
Man’s eating breakfast, avoiding the huge scene Kat and Emile are making, and these women (and also some men) keep smiling at him suggestively and winking; he just sighs and ducks his head, avoiding eye contact so none feel the need to come over and make conversation, god forbid.
Carter needs a vacation. Period. Preferably all alone. Or with just Jun and Jorge. But he never gets one, because he’s got the mass ☺️

Noble team TV preferences
Carter: definitely true crime he's watched almost every documentary about serial killers that he can. I can definitely see him enjoying the Netflix Dahmer documentary and the assassination of Gianni Versace. If he weren't a Spartan he would most likely be a detective.
Kat: random assortment, Emile got her into the sitcoms from his 70s and 80s shows. She enjoys watching the golden girls and the office. Although she'll watch just about anything because she enjoys learning new things.
Jun: Anime he loves it. He's most likely a fairy tail fan, I can definitely see him enjoying hetalia. The only anime he can get the rest of the team to watch is the ghost stories dub.
Emile: 70s and 80s action shows. His absolute favorites are the ORIGINAL A-Team, Magnum PI, MacGyver, and The Dukes of Hazzard. He enjoys the first few seasons of M*A*S*H when it was less anti-war. He got Kat into watching M*A*S*H and that's how she discovered her love of sitcoms.
Jorge: animal planet and national geographic. He loves watching nature documentaries and learning different things about the environment. He was most likely born to a farming family so he has the instinct to cultivate the land and grow food. If he wasn't a Spartan he would have been a farmer.
The team: they don't really watch shows together although once Jun convinced them to watch the ghost stories dub. If anything they probably watch M*A*S*H as it's the only thing that really appeals to the whole team.

ok wait. wait wait wait wait. consider.
emile having more of a disconnect irt his heritage than his peers of noble team, because he was one of the handful of orphans who lost their parents not to the covenant, but to insurrectionists, and as a result he was raised by his older brother. only speaks the odd phrase or three in another language ( i haven't got a HC yet for what his ethnicity might be ).
and his big bro didn't have a lot of time to teach him about everything their parents would have taught them in regards to their history, where they came from, their family and stuff. bc his big bro was trying to parent emile and also look after himself.
and he looks at kat, who also lost her parents prior to her homeworld being attacked, and who was raised by her grandmother. it's something they can relate to each other with, to a degree; neither one of them has many memories of their parents as compared to the other threes. but kat has more ties to her heritage than him because, well, her grandma had the time to teach her that sort of thing.
and he looks at carter, who although isn't entirely conversational in the language, who he relates to because they're both older, even if carter's older only chronologically, spits out the odd sentence or two in isixhosa. and he feels something that might just be jealousy.
and he looks at jun, who was orphaned years before his planet was ever touched by the covenant, and doesn't speak much of which family he was raised by; they might have more in common than he does with kat. and he thinks here, here's someone i can relate to. but the sniper has an accent that's thicker than kat's, and he speaks in two languages other than english, not just one.
and then there's rosenda. and thom. and all other members of noble team, spartan-iiis all. some more similar to him. some less so. some speaking two or three languages. some speaking only english.
and jorge. big, soft, gentle jorge, the only spartan-ii. taken from his parents, his family; got lucky enough to be trained on his homeworld, as opposed to his peers, the other spartan-iis. lucky enough to be stationed there with noble. and perhaps it's jorge he's most jealous of, of all noble.
and emile looks at himself, and wonders, "why couldn't i have that?"

Noble Team; House of Memories
I Ain’t Worried
“I don’t know what you’ve been told, But time is running out, No need to take it slow.” Carter scolded the team as Jun continued to type away on the “Borrowed” UNSC laptop. How did they “Borrow” it? No idea. “I ain’t worried ‘bout it.” Jun chuckled as he continued to type away. “I’m at my best when I got something I’m wanting to steal.” Jun added on as he managed to break into the system to see what all “Blackmail” he could use on the commander. Stumbling across many images one would NOT like to see… especially if that person is one of you’re higher in command officers… “What.The.Actual.Fuck” Kat said as she continued to look at the images before looking away, as poor yn had to look away from the screen, feeling fairly uncomfortable at what’s currently displayed on the screen. It’s not that yn liked the commander much, it was just so uncomfortable. Jun just starts laughing like a maniac, on the verge of falling out of his chair as he tried gasping for air. Carter was in complete shock. Not knowing what to say or react.. placing his hands on top of his head like he was in pure distress.. Emile on the other hand was trying to get a look at what was exactly there, only able to get small glances with Jorge just standing there at complete lost for words.. Kat managing to come back to her senses to try erasing whatever file Jun broke into. “Wait wait wait” Jun manages to say after a while, stopping Kat from proceeding what she was doing, “What is it Jun?” Kat ask’s slightly annoyed at Jun. “We need to keep those photos.”, “Why would we? Please tell me you have a genuine reason on why you would go this low? If it’s pure bullshit, I’m gonna walk my happy trappy ass to ONI and request for a mission of sort..” yn said before starting towards the door. “Honestly I’m not sure. Maybe if there was something we really wanted to do or go he’ll have no choice but to say yes and not no.” Jun shrugged his shoulders before getting out a flash drive out and connecting it to the “Borrowed” UNSC laptop and saving the file to the drive and removing it before letting Kat continue on with erasing Jun’s trace of breaking into such file. Six ends up shaking his head as he also starts heading to the door to walk out right behind yn. “I honestly don’t know what to say or do anymore.” Yn says as six catches up to them. “Don’t blame you.. are you down to head to the gym and do max reps today?” Six asks as he sees both marines and ODST going past them. “I suppose we could, but do know I’m not caring your ass back to your room lieutenant, like last time.” Yn snickers they end up walking a bit faster than six to the general direction of the gym. “Wow you didn’t have to go that far, that’s not fair you know!”
Howdy folks, it’s b-312-mia who’s finally back after a short while. Writers block be real, and a pain too when it’s really bad on top of being really busy to even have any proper spare time to use for writing and really only used for sleep, at that even. I plan for this “Noble Team; House of Memories” to be a short mini series to see how I like to write little series and such. I ain’t gonna even try to give an estimate on when I’ll update this little mini series, hopefully soon, but then again it all plays a role on if I ain’t too busy nor too tired to. (Though I’m always tired, let’s just say, when I’m not blacking/passing out tired). This week doesn’t look to be too busy so we’ll see, until then, hope y’all enjoy this little short start to a mini series and continue to have a great day/night!

Hello! i'd like to request an Emile x F!Reader. Where they had both been in Alpha Company as kids but got separated right before everything went south. Him going off on one mission then her on another, but they reunite on reach when she takes the place of noble 6? But instead of them nothing being trapped on reach when it gets glassed they're able to escape with Cortana?
Oh I love this idea 🥺 I'll see what I can do for it!
Survivors
Emile-A239 x Female! Reader
Synopsis: Emile had always known Carter, Jun, and Thom in Alpha Company. Yet back then he also knew a young girl who was a cadet like him. After graduation he thinks he'll never see her again. Turns out... that changes when NOBLE needs a new member.
Content Warnings: Romantic Pairing, Female Reader/Male Character pairing, Halo Reach AU where Emile and Noble 6! Reader do not die, Canon typical violence, Mass death/family death mention, Spoilers for Halo Reach, Jun is still alive he's just not around, Swearing.
Emile had considered you a comrade when you were in Alpha Company. It was you, Emile, Carter, Jun, and Thom along with many others in training. Despite having such comrades, Emile still only ever craved vengeance for what happened to his previous family.
The Covenant killed them all.
Even though Emile only ever trained with revenge and murder on his mind when he was very young, you still came up to him with a friendly tone. You, like some many other Spartans, had your family wiped out by the alien threat. Despite such a blow it looked like you were able to keep your head up. You were quite the hopeful young girl.
You always greeted Emile with a smile. Even during harsh training you still tried to keep your team's spirit up. Call it childish but ever since the age of ten he managed to develop a crush on you. You two were a great team, only made better when Carter, Jun, and Thom aided you.
Unfortunately romantic relations, especially at such a young age, is frowned upon in the UNSC. This lead to Emile hiding such thoughts that managed to slip past his conditioning. He hid them right up until his graduation at age 13.
After his graduation you two were sent your separate ways. It hurt to know he may never see you again. You're sent to two different teams, two different missions...
Emile deep down feared you'd perish, but he had a goal to reach.
Despite such a fear he pushed away his irrational feelings of puppy love. He managed to make his way onto NOBLE team with Carter, Thom, and Jun. He even met Jorge and Kat. Emile still thought of you from time to time but he bet you were fulfilling your own goals.
You were probably keeping your team happy too... he almost envies it.
It isn't until after the Battle of Fumirole and loss of Thom that Emile sees a new member of NOBLE. It's hard for everyone to lose Thom, even Emile struggles but keeps looking forward to making the Covenant pay. Yet a new NOBLE 6 must be picked.
Emile was never expecting it to be you.
The only people who didn't recognize you were Jorge and Kat. Yet they could tell from how the other three acted that you were someone they could trust. Carter greeted you as a leader and a friend. Jun teased you and asked how your other missions went. Emile waved but could only watch in stunned silence as you asked Carter about Thom.
You had your own customized armor. You still held yourself well and didn't look like you cracked under pressure. You even managed to lighten the mood when things seemed tense. He could tell even Kat and Jorge noticed the way you improved the team already.
Despite such happy behavior, Emile knew you were still just as vulnerable as anyone else. You may encourage those around you... but deep down you have your own fears. You didn't like being alone... you hated the idea of losing soldiers.
Even after you met with your new team you gravitated towards Emile, he could tell the news of Thom settled in after the introductions.
"I'm so sorry about Thom..." You say softly, your tone quiet as you speak with Emile. "He made s great sacrifice out there."
"Soldiers die." Emile mutters to himself, he's seen it many times before. Spartans were often just meant to fulfill a purpose and that's it. "... but I'm glad you're here."
"How long has it been?" You ask, referring to your time at Alpha Company.
"Long time now. Not really that important. All that matters is the mission and stopping the threat, yeah?" Emile hums towards you, signaling that it was time to move.
"I guess you're right." You answer, waving towards Emile before following Carter.
"You'll do great out here... Noble 6." Emile manages to say before following his squad.
It felt just like old times. Fighting beside you reminded him of Alpha Company, when you were all just little kids. Little kids groomed for war... a bitter thought, but a necessary evil.
You weren't some little girl now, you're now a grown woman while he is a grown man. Both nearing your 30's and trained killing machines, he didn't realize how much he missed you until now. Even now you still seemed like yourself despite seeing the horrors of alien combat.
Although he was keen enough to notice the times where you appear more dulled than usual... that happiness from when you were little now seems more forced. He can't blame you. It must be taxing.
The whole thing is for him.
He will admit having you on the team made things easier. You got the job done, you're always careful, and you always look out for your team. You're a great soldier.
He tries to suffocate the feelings within him.
All he should think of is the mission. All he should think about is revenge for his family and all of humanity. That's all that matters. Everything else is second.
However, as Emile lost comrades left and right, he worried for you. Each time one of them was lost you seemed to dull. You still tried to encourage those around you, most of the time it was him even when he didn't need it, but he could tell you were growing hopeless. You didn't like the loss.
Your biggest fear was coming true.
By the time Carter sacrificed himself to take down the Scarab tank, Emile could tell your whole demeanor changed. You didn't bother even acting happy anymore. You looked broken down... yet he could see you were still determined to deliver the package to Keyes.
Emile promised himself he'd protect you until the package was secured. He tried not to think of you as he used the MAC gun to take down incoming Phantoms. You could handle the enemy down below, he'd handle the enemy in the sky. He didn't stop clearing the sky until he heard you on his through his helmet.
"Package secure."
"I've got your back."
"No, you're coming with me, Emile."
"We won't make it."
"Bullshit we won't."
It's then he sees you signal for Keyes to stop before rushing towards him. Emile slides out of the MAC gun but prepares to fight when Elite Zealots make their move in him. He thinks he'll die here for you and wishes you just left.
Instead he's met with the spray of gunfire and you pulling him along. He can tell you're determined as you make sure the Elite threat is dead before ushering him onto the Pelican with Keyes. For now, the sky is clear, clear enough for Pillar of Autumn to take off along with the Pelican.
It's then the Pelican heads for the Pillar of Autumn with you and Emile on it. The air is tense around you but Emile can tell you seem relieved. He's thankful you cared for him... even if it was against the mission.
Emile knows why you saved him. Even with the visor on he can tell. You went against orders for one reason and one reason alone.
You don't want to be alone...
- AFTERMATH -
Until you could be moved to somewhere else, Keyes had said you two were going to be put into Cryo sleep. It wasn't right away however, so you both had time to recollect yourselves. Emile admittedly couldn't stop staring when your helmet was off.
"Risky call to save me back there." Emile comments and you look over at him. He winces when he sees the look in your eyes.
"Was I supposed to just let you die like all the rest?" You say softly, sadness in your tone. "You're... we're lucky to even be alive right now to keep fighting."
"All thanks to you." Emile admits. "... thank you."
"It's no problem, it's what we're supposed to do."
Silence overcomes both of you as you contemplate the future. Supposedly Jun had gotten out okay so you both wonder if you'll see him again. Emile is the one to break the silence and your train of thought.
"You look really pretty without the helmet." Emile comments and you turn to him with a flustered yet confused expression.
"Emile...?"
"Look, can I be honest?" Emile asks, leaning back on the wall.
"Sure."
"I've had a thing for you since Alpha Company." Emile admits. "Thought I should at least get it out there now...."
"Poor timing." You sigh but smile at him. "Yet I guess I've felt similarly."
"Really now?" Emile asks.
"Yes, but of course, can't really express such a thing with war raging on." You sigh softly. "I'm... just happy I never lost you."
Emile shoves himself off the wall to walk closer to you. He grabs your attention and pats your back roughly. It's friendly and innocent, an attempt to keep your hopes up.
"Again, all thanks to you. I owe you for that."
"You don't owe me anything." You smile softly, kissing his cheek/visor softly. "I'm fine just knowing we both care for each other."
"Always have, always will." Emile promises. "Now, shouldn't we prepare for Cryo sleep as the Captain said?"
"Yes, Emile." You agree, putting your helmet back on. You then adjust your helmet's comms before speaking again. "This a secure channel?"
"Yes?" Emile answers, confused.
"I love you." You say softly and Emile feels his face heat.
"You too...." Emile replies back before reporting back to Keyes with you on the Pillar of Autumn.

Alright time to infodump a bit and look for some extra input, I'm currently doing a playthrough of MW5:M with YAML and a bunch of mods, and I'm trying to recreate Noble Team from Halo Reach the best I can, at least in spirit. So far here's what I've got:
General rules: each mech is equipped with a Blue Shield PFD, C3 unit, Heavy Duty Gyro, Clan Ferro Lamellar armour and a Clan Endo Composite skeleton, giving us "shields" comms, and our armour.
I'm standardizing our speed at 64.8km/h, so whichever engine core brings the mech to that speed, but I'm considering going higher to 81km/h depending on weight management and slots, and more than likely rocking a Clan XL in each for the extra weight reduction.
Carter - Black Knight Partisan, a decent command mech, imposing enough and with enough weapons and room for support systems, I want Carter to be able to rock a Command Console and AMS system or 2, so he's gotta stay in something heavy at least. considering switching him to a Battlemaster though
Kat - Raven-3L, our premier intelligence agent, rocking an Angel ECM, Bloodhound Active Probe, and a smattering of lasers, probably gonna throw on a Null Signature System to help with survivability if I can fit it
Jun - Cataphract-5L, rocking a Clan Gauss and ER-PPC, Jun is our backline sniper providing good fire support, I still feel like he's lacking something though
Emile - I've yet to start on him but either an Atlas or a Hatchetman, I want him to rock an LBX-10/20 and some sorta melee weapon, and these seem like the best choice
Jorge - also a WIP, I'm leaning towards a Fafnir with RAC's or UAC's, or possibly a Marauder (IIc?) something that can put a lot of dakka downrange and hold its own
Noble Six - and finally, you. The everyman, I'm leaning towards a Shadow Hawk or possibly a Rifleman, genuinely not super sure what to do with this one other than follow my heart so I'm super open to better thematic ideas if anyone has any thoughts
And finally thanks for reading! I don't post a ton but I'd love any little bits of feedback or thoughts!

Carter-A259 - Character Overview
Carter was born on Biko in August of 2520. He was orphaned after the Covenant's assault on Biko, leaving him orphaned. In early 2532, he was conscripted into the Spartan-III program, and became a trainee of Alpha Company.
"You're on your own, Noble. Carter out."
Devastating that Halo killed off the finest man ever in the same game he was introduced in... But in all seriousness, I loved his character development in Halo Reach. The way you can see him losing his edge, growing tired throughout the losses of his teammates and watching Reach fall illuminates the not only physical battles, but the emotional ones involved with the fall of Reach. The scene of Carter holding Kat's body after the glassing always makes me tear up. :-(
During his training, both Lieutenant Commander Kurt Ambrose and Senior Chief Petty Officer noted his exceptional skills, which was part of why he was opted out of Operation: PROMETHEUS. Carter was selected to lead a fireteam of Spartans who were similarly pulled from PROMETHEUS for their skills.
Carter obtained the role of Commander within the UNSC Navy, making him one of the few Spartans so highly ranked that fights out in the field. ((Consider that most high ranking Spartans are drop-outs like Serin Osman or Musa Ghanem.)) Carter's special operations team gained the title Noble Team. Noble Team soon attained Catherine-B320, and both Carter and Catherine (Kat) became the only surviving members of the original team by the year 2552.
Carter and the rest of Noble Team were present during the Defense of Concord, destroying a Draugr. During their time on Concord, Noble Team was redeployed to Fumirole to combat present Covenant forces. Carter led Noble Team into battle on Fumirole, aiming to take out the battlecruiser above the capital city. The plan was constructed by Kat, and Carter executed it. This plan came with the loss of Thom-A293, which Carter blamed himself for.
During Noble Team's deployment to Reach, they confronted present Covenant forces, launching counter-offenses and assaults on Covenant forces. After the UNSC Grafton was destroyed by the Long Night of Solace, Carter and Kat reviewed their plans, and eventually came to Operation: UPPER CUT, which separated Jorge-052 and Spartan-B312 from the rest of Noble Team.
On August 23, 2552, the remaining members of Noble Team focused on protecting and evacuating civilians from the Covenant invasion and glassing of the planet. When Kat was killed en-route to the radiation bunker, he was clearly shaken.
Carter and the remaining members of Noble Team met Doctor Catherine Halsey at SWORD Base, tasked with getting Halsey's AI to the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. Jun-A266 was sent to accompany Halsey, while Carter, Emile-A239, and Spartan-B312 got the AI to the Pillar of Autumn.
Carter became gravely injured during the Pelican ride during the transport of the AI to the Pillar of Autumn. He chose to divert Covenant forces while Emile and Spartan-B312 finished the journey groundside. When Emile and Spartan-B312 were blocked by an approaching Covenant Scarab, Carter rammed his Pelican into the Scarab, taking his own life but essentially allowing the other two Spartans to pass.

Emile A239 x fem!Reader part two
Portrait by Joshua Ezzell
Part one Masterlist
Summary: After meeting up with the rest of Team Noble, you're set out on your first mission. Things don't go as planned and you end up arguing with Emile about your behavior. Just why does he have to hold your face like this and stand so damn close you can barely breathe?
Warnings: war, mention of weapons, mention of death, angst, sarcasm, overall harmless, with some hints of early stage smut
Word count: 4503
AN: I posted the second chapter a couple of days ago already, but I was not satisfied how it turned out. So I wrote many parts new and I promise you. You will fall in love with Emile now! He is the most precious angry fluffball ever.
Chapter two: Be a good girl, and I'll take my helmet off for you
15 minutes have already passed, since we started in New Alexandria. We left the heavy rain clouds in the city, and I can finally see a few sunrays again. Two weeks I haven’t seen the sun anymore. The feeling that I’ll never see the sun anymore, grew bigger, minute by minute as I waited in my apartment for pick up.
But being now with Noble Team, makes me believe that everything will be fine. Carter explained me the situation, we are meeting rest of the Noble Team at a safe zone camp. 80 click souths from my home city. Once we arrived, we will be heading 20 click west to an old military facility for pick up of an ONI squad. With this squad we will leave fly all the way to Reach and head towards Quezon. West of New Alexandria, behind the ocean. Once we arrived, Noble Team will drop me off and I will get escorted by a UNSC special forces squad to earth.
Then I will just wait for the war to be over before I can return home? Somehow this doesn’t go well with me. I trained years of my life; I have been in different wars myself already. Against Rebels, Terrorists and others. So why am I not allowed to fight now. Its my home as well. I should fight with my brothers and sisters.
“We are landing in 2 minutes.” Says a pilot over the radio, what rips me out of my thoughts. And as we are descending, I can see how the sun slowly sets itself behind the thick clouds and mountains. I’m looking at Carter, who gives me a nod to get ready. Emile on the other side had said nothing. Not a single word, for the 15 minutest as we are in the sky. He just sat at the edge of the helicopter, scanning the area with a heavy machine gun. He seems more professional than I thought in the first place. Maybe I got him all wrong.
The helicopter eventually landed, and I followed Carter into a little tent. Four Spartans were looking directly at me as I entered. Spartans can be really scaring sometimes…
“Noble Team, this is Miss l/n. Ma’am, meet Kat, noble two.” A woman in light blue Armor nods at me. I try my best to nod with a serious face back. Trying to hide my nervosity. As Carter continues: “Jun, Jorge, Noble three and Noble five. And Lieutenant Sixx, obviously he got the callsign Noble six.” He pointed at everyone, while walking towards a simple build contact station. I looked at each of them, “It’s an honour to meet you. You can call me y/n. I don’t really like those formalities.” It sounded a little more desperate then I hoped it would, but maybe it helps me to stay calm.
Kat turned to me and gave me a light smile: “I’ve read your file Ma’am. You are more tough than you look. No need to feel intimidated by us. We don’t bite. Well, almost all of us don’t.” With that, she lifted her head and looked behind me. “You should just stay a little alert around our Grim Reaper.” She chuckled and turned her attention toward the contact station. A little confused I looked behind, seeing Emile standing at the tent entrance. Of course, he bites. I’m not even surprised; he looks like he could and probably would at one point. Quickly I turn my attention to the rest of the squad. Jorge was once a commander of the squad I served with. Against Insurrectionists, here on Reach. “Sir, it’s good to see a familiar face.” I said to him. He smiled softly, as he came a little closer to me. With his heavy hand on my shoulder he said: “Y/n, I’m glad to see you are in one piece. Your father was quite worried as he heard about the covenant. We will bring you to safety as soon as possible.” I smiled back. “Yes, thanks for that, I guess. Even though, I should fight for my home, not run away from it.” With my smile fading into a face of self-disappointment, he just let out a laugh. “I didn’t expect anything less from you. You will get a chance. But your father gives and order, and we all, just as you, are supposed to follow it.”
He's right. “But I hope I can at least kick some ass before leaving Reach.” I replied.
“Alright, attention Team.” Carter interrupts our little, small talk. And everybody pays close attention to the contact station. A hologram map shows up. He points at an ONI facility; “20 clicks west, we will meet a backup squad and secure the facility. Taking down all covenant and bring the facility back online.” He picks up a small P.a.d. from the table and hands to me. “Make sure to stay in contact at all times ma’am.” A quick nod from me as response as I fix the p.a.d. on my wrist.
Kat looks at me, “She needs some weapons, or do you want any of us to play babysitter?” She clearly won’t take the job, that’s the tone of her voice saying. Carter points with his thumbs at a weapon chest next to the station. “Take what you are most comfortable with.” He says to me. I response with another nod. As he continues: “Anyway else, I want that one of you stay full time with her. She is a highly important freight. We can’t take any chances.” He looks at each of the Noble Team members. I hope he picks Jorge. He’s the only one I know and to be honest, he’s the only next to Carter who I’d trust.
But he had other plans. “Emile, make sure she doesn’t get a single scratch. Team, we’re leaving in 10 minutes. Get ready.” He just dismisses us and is about to leave the tent. When Emile finally says something: “What? Sir with all due respect, you gotta be kidding!” He sounds angry.
Kat comes next to Emile: “Sir, I must agree with Emile, for the first time ever. I’m sure that Six or Jorge would be the better candidate for the job.” She really argues with the commander. I’m curious if she tries to protect Emile, or me? But it seems that Carter won’t budge. “My decision is made. No discussion. I need your skillset to make sure she will arrive in Quezon alive.” He says with a stern look, then he looks at me: “Ma’am. Take the weapons of your choice, vest, night vision and get ready to move.” With his final words, he leaves. And so do the others one by one. Kat looks one time more at me, “Good luck.” She smiles at me with a concerned face and leaves. While Jorge comes past me, he pats me on the shoulder, before leaving the tent as well. Now it’s only Emile and me. This is going to be great. Really great. I let out a sigh as I look at him. Then, there it is again. That feeling. He looks at me, and I can feel how he tries to kill me with his piercing stare. I turn around, trying to ignore his death threat and walk towards the weapon chest, short after I turned away, Emile left the tent as well. I survived. For now.
Now let’s pick some toys. There are not many weapons in, but I quickly made my decision. I take a MK50 Sidekick, a great sidearm that's ideal for finishing weakened enemies off. As I trained for the Airforce, I worked mainly as sniper and medic, so I’ll chose the S7 Sniper. Light and compact. The exact model I trained with, from the beginning of my time in the UNSC Airforce.
Even though I was categorized as too small for the UNSC to join in the first place, it gave me many opportunities to take down enemies in close range, while I could move faster around them and take them down with a combat knife. So of course, I’ll be taking a M1 combat knife, as I used back in the fights. A bullet proof vest and a night vision device. Ready dressed and packed, I make my way out of the tent. As I turn the corner to meet rest of the team at the landing zone, my soul leaves at the second I get yelled at, by a certain skull visor. “What the hell? You are dum?!” Emile yells at me from behind as I get shocked to the core and jump around, I see how he stomps towards me. That’s it. I’m going to die. What have I done to deserve that. I’m just praying to God, while he stops right in front of me, looking down on me, as if I’m a little child. Then he growls: “A sniper rifle? Do I look like I wanna sit in a corner drinking tea while the others dance with the covenant scum? Go pick Jun if you’re too scared to face the enemy directly, but I’m not taking care of you then!” He stomps past me.
Hold up. That’s why he is mad? God, he is the little child. I definitely will have a hard time handling him, but I’m not going to change my weapon. It will come in handy, and I still have my sidekick gun. I shake my head as if I try to shake his anger off me. Then I make my last steps to the landing zone. Standing next to Emile, I look up at him with a serious face: “Just for your knowledge, with a sniper rifle that size, I can easily take down any enemy who will come in closer range. Also I got a MK50 sidekick. Captain Obvious. In the end it’s going to be me, who has to make sure you don’t get a scratch. And probably will end up babysitting you then. So you better be more kind. Sir.” Realizing what I just said, I can hear the others giggle. The only ones clearly not laughing is me. Why do I have to push my limits always. He’s so going to abandon me in a fight. Or even push me off a cliff, should we come across one. I want to facepalm myself. But - Hold up! He is laughing himself. What the??
I look now even more shocked towards him, he is serious laughing. He turns his head to me, “You think I need back up from a tiny dwarf like you? Not even your wildest dream.” Is he insulting me now? Or joking? I’m confused! To my luck, I can hear Carter approaching from behind, with an amused voice he pats me on the shoulder: “I told you, you two will get along just fine.”
With the team in a good mood, we split up in two groups and jump on the helicopters. Kat, Jorge and Carter are in the other helicopter, while Emile and Noble Six sit on the opposite side of Jun and me. Jun, pushes me light at the shoulder: “I give you some advice.” He says while pointing at Emile. “Make as many jokes as you want to, but don’t be surprised if he’s coming after you. You can always hide behind Carter or Six. But don’t come running at me, I don’t want to die myself.” He says while laughing a little more. I nod with a awkward terrified smile at him. Does he want to tell me that he fears Emile?
Should I take his advice serious? Either way I say dumb shit to Emile, or even worse shit, that makes him angry. I will probably make him kill me. My face drops with the realisation that my life hangs by a threat. As Emile tilts his head light to the side and looks at me: “As long as I got orders to make sure you don’t loose a leg, I won’t rip off your head as well.” He says with a cool voice. Turning away once again.
Wow, how charming. I think ironically. But yeah, actually, his voice, is really charming. I hits me like a thunderstrike. Holy no! Pull yourself together girl! We are not falling for a Spartan! No No No NO! Instantly I turn my face away from the others, trying to hide my blushing cheeks. This is seriously no time to catch feelings. Also, he is so rude and reckless. And childish. And has probably many issues. No no. We don’t do love stuff here. We are professionals. So be one professional soldier. God damn. While discussing with myself, I just pray that this flight is over soon, so I can focus on the covenant instead of my stupid thoughts.
As the helicopter is turning around the mountain, we get a call over radio: “This is Carter. We get no communication with ONI. The plan changed. Jun, you stay in the helo, get up at that hill, right heading. Find a clear vision over the facility. Emile and Six, clear the left entrance area. Y/n, according to your record, you are a medic, means you go with the two and get ready for first aid, if you find any injured. All clear?” Carter gives straight instructions. Jun looks at Emile and Six, both are nodding in response, then they turn to me and I gave a quick nod as well. Jun answers over the radio quickly: “Affirmative, Sir.” With that said, we are starting to descend. I know what will come. War. But against the covenant. I never fought against any aliens before. Slowly my guts starting to turn. Then Jun pushes me once again lightly at the shoulder, I turn to him and he just gives me a thumbs up. It’s not much, but it calms me down a little, I give him a thumbs up back.
The helicopter touches the ground, and we hop off. Jun gives me one more thumb up as the helicopter rises again. Now it’s time to focus. So far, I don’t see any civilians, soldiers and no covenant. The sun has almost set completely. Taking a deep breath, I grip my rifle tight and follow Emile and Six. They give calls each other on where to walk, that the area is clear and where to move. I just follow Emile. Close, but so that he still can move free. We are approaching the left entrance of the ONI facility, and the bad feeling inside me grows bigger. I try to get a little closer to Emile and whisper to him: “Hey, Emile. I have a bad feeling. This is smelly.”, he stops in his tracks and turns his head light. “So what? You scared because your belly is grumbling? There’s no turning back now. Shut up and keep moving.” He harshly cuts me off and continues walking again. I let out an annoyed sigh and follow him once more, this time, I keep more distance. It’s a trap! I can feel it, don’t they? When the two Spartans reached the entrance gate, I walked a little bit further away, and hide behind a huge rock. It’s like a countdown ticking inside of me. Every second it could go down. I kneel behind the rock and set up my rifle, so I can assist the two when they will get surprised. And they will get surprised.
In the exact moment Six get ready to open the gate, the gate explodes and a bunch of Covenant storming out of the building. “Get to cover tiny!” Emile yells. He didn’t even realise that I wasn’t there anymore. “No shit, Sherlock. And who are you calling tiny here.” Is what I whisper to myself, while shooting one by one of the covenants. They are obviously too many to handle, even for two Spartans. Emile doesn’t think so: “What that’s all you got? Bring it on!” He yells while throwing them around like a freaking piñata. “Who’s next! Let’s dance!” He yells and laughs even more, while jumping on three covenants, blasting them to bits. Yeah, he’s nuts - That’s for sure. Six is skilled himself. Not a single enemy can get close enough to him, that he must draw a knife. While Emile on the other hand seems to have a lot of fun using his Kukri knife instead of his shotgun. And it doesn’t take too long and not a single covenant is standing anymore.
As they are about to move into the building, Emile calls over the radio: “You made it to a hiding spot in time?” I answered without even thinking “Sir, I was in a hiding spot already. As I told you, it’s smelly.” I responded. I should have just said yes and we would had no problem. But telling Emile, that I disobeyed an order, was not the smartest idea, because he was clearly not happy about that: “What’d you mean? You just decided to take a stroll around the base or what? Who gave you green lights for running off? Don’t fucking do that ever again! Now stay where you are until we call the building clear!”
After around 10 minutes, he calls over the radio: “This is Noble four. Left entrance clear. We have many soldiers on the ground. Get in here tiny, time to work.” Is all he says. Man, now I’m mad. “He can’t even say my name. And what does he mean, - time to work – I was literally holding his god damn back free, so he can have his fun in the crowd. “Arrogant ass.” I mutter to myself as I’m approaching the building. Entering, I see many soldiers, bad injured. “Ah hell.” I whispered while checking if any are still alive. These soldiers are clearly dead.
Emile was nowhere to be seen. Six came from across the hallway to me. I just shook my head. He let out a sigh and said “Good job. Out there.” He gave me a nod of appreciation. “Thanks Lieutenant. I’m sorry for the soldiers” I sighed and asked “That was the squad we were supposed to meet?” He looked at me and pointed to a door, signing me to follow. “You are right, it was them. It’s now just us. We must get the station online and then bring you to Quezon. With or without ONI.” He explained while walking ahead. Suddenly he stopped, so that I almost bumped into him. I stood behind him, a little confused. “Sir?” I asked quietly. He turned around. “You are a good sniper. For your size, surprisingly. Your senses are excellent as well. Emile said you had a bad feeling and decided to not follow the orders and hid. That’s good. But also, bad. Next time, give clear concerns to the commander. You can’t decide by yourself what to do. Other who are supposed to protect you, will get the consequences.” As he finished, he turned away and continued walking. I felt bad, he was right, but I had to make the decision. To not put the team in danger as they would have focused on protecting me.
“Sir, it won’t happen again.” I said while walking behind him like a stray dog. He chuckled “Good. And good luck with handling Emile. He’s mad.” As he said that, I was not even surprised. I let out a sigh, “Yeah, I deserve that, I guess.” We stopped in front of a big door. Six gave me a slight nudge on the shoulder and entered the room, right away, Emile came out of it. He packed me by the arm and pulled me further along the hallway. He’s probably going to yell at me again. Mentally preparing myself for what will come, he stopped and let go of my arm as we were close to an exit door. Then he turned towards me and pushed a finger against my forehead. “Listen here doll, When I tell you what to do, you shut up and do it. You can’t just leave the spot without telling anyone! Are we clear?” He wasn’t really yelling. Just a little louder, but his finger really hurts on my forehead. I pushed his hand out of my face and took a deep breath. “Yes sir. Won’t happen again.” I said with a serious look on my face to him. He wasn’t done. “Have you an idea how much trouble I get because of that!” Now he started yelling as he came one step closer. I couldn’t even said something, he came one more step closer and continued. “Not only from Carter. If your father finds out I can’t even handle a dwarf like you, I can forget staying in Noble Team.” He came another step closer. As he leaned down, his visor was almost touching my nose. But I didn’t budge. “Tell me Emile” I looked at his skull visor. “Do I look into your eyes right now? Or do I have to look more down or up?” I caught him completely off guard. He spun back and instead of saying anything, he turned on his heels and walked towards the exit door.
“That’s it?” I asked whispering but couldn’t hold back. “Emile.” I called him, he stopped and turned around. “What?” He was so pissed. Good. My face turned into an art of hell as I bit my lower lip to not laugh out loud. Another deep breath: “My belly grumbling, huh? Just admit it, I was right, and you were wrong.” Biting my lip even harder to not laugh out loud I waited for my end. But he just stood there. Saying nothing. Looking in my direction. I messed up, but it was totally worth it. It’s too much fun to piss him off. Until he started stomping towards me. “Oh shit!” I whispered. Should I run away? Too late, he was already right in front of me again. Now pushing me by my shoulders against the wall behind me. He almost threw me at that wall. Hands on my shoulder, his visor right in front of me again and his feet left and right next to mine, he was cornering me completely against that wall.
His voice, deep and filled with flammable anger “Do you wanna die?” He asked slowly. I shook my head light. “Negative, sir.” Only a whisper was what I was able to bring out. He took a breath as if he wanted to say something. But he didn’t. He was just standing there. Looking down on me, holding my shoulders and pressing them against the wall. I looked at him confused. Should I say something? Then he let go of my shoulder, cupping my face with one hand, lifting it even closer to him. With the other hand he pointed to his visor. “I you look there; you look me in the eyes.” I lost my breath at his words. His voice was now calm and soft. He was a completely different person. Nobody said anything anymore. We just looked at each other, standing so close, I swear he could hear my heartbeat.
Suddenly, out of nowhere Jun yelled: “Hey, Emile, get up to the power transmitter and check if the wires are cut! Oh, ah, Okey. Didn’t wanted interrupted. My bad.” He yelled from across the hallway. As he saw what must have looked as we were making out, Jun just left as quickly as he came around. Emile huffed and let go of me. He headed towards the exit. “You stay put. Otherwise...” He scolded. As he walked away. I followed him, as we left the building and climbed the fire stairs to the roof. I got curious. “Otherwise, what?” I asked dumb struck. He stopped in the middle of the stairs and turned around once more. “Otherwise, I’ll bite your head off. Now shut up.” He scolded once again.
Deciding to not bother him any further. I zipped my mouth with my finger and followed him further upstairs. Reaching the transmitter, it was clear that all cables were intact. He gave a radio call to Jun, saying that the cables are fine. I stood at the transmitter and looked at him. Something is weird about him. He’s rude, childish and has immense anger issues. But I can’t shake this feeling off, that I feel like starting to fall for him. How can I fall for someone I just met an hour ago. And who I haven’t even seen the face of.
He’s noble team. They don’t have a long lifespan anyway. And I’m going to earth. So, I will probably never see him again after we parted ways. Makes me a little sad. As I continue starting at him, with every emotion written on my face, I suddenly realised he’s looking back at me. Ah no, he’s going to be mad again. I smiled at him as if tried to convince him that I’m not hiding any drugs, before turning around and looking at the lake next to the facility. He was not saying anything. When I looked back at him, he is still looking at me. I narrowed my eyebrows: “Did you spaced out Emile?” I asked him. He stomped towards me, I was about to move back, but I decided to stand my ground. Would he come that close again? Is he actually starving for physical contact. The life of a Spartan can be lonely. He stopped right in front of me. Only a few inches were in between us. He took a deep breath and asked. “Why would you want to see my eyes?” – “Huh?” with my answer it was clear that I did not expected that. Emile turned away and shook his head. “Never mind.” He said and walked to the stairs.
“Wait.” I run at him and grab him by his hand. Regretting my move, as he looked down at his hand, I let go immediately. “I- am. I just try to understand you. And it’s easier for me when I can look into your eyes.” I smiled shyly and looked away. I was expecting he’d make a joke about me, but instead, he cupped my face with both hands this time, making me to look up at him. “If you be a good little girl and do as I say. I maybe take my helmet off.” Then he let go of me, and walked downstairs laughing his ass off. He made a joke about me.
“What was that?” I asked myself and rushed after him, before I get another scolding. Wait, was he actually flirting with me? With this thought I stopped in front of the door to the building.
“y/n. Station is online. Come to the main entrance.” Carters call over the radio ripped me out of my thoughts. I must stop thinking about Emile. He is just a Spartan. Doing his job. That’s it.

@indomitus-ferox inquired: “Hey, look at me, okay? Stay with me; it’s gonna be okay, just stay with me... ” ( from Noble Six to Noble One, because I had to )
send in " hey, look at me, okay? stay with me, it's gonna be okay, just stay with me... " ( OR if your muse wouldn't say this: 💧 + [WHATEVER YOUR MUSE WOULD SAY] ) for the sender to find the receiver badly wounded or dying from unexpected yet serious injuries. | Accepting!
How had he gotten here? He remembered flying; the pelican was shot to hell. Fuel was leaking, it wouldn't stay airborne for long. Words echoed in the back of his mind, faded, vague, but he could just make it out.
Hit 'em hard, boss.
Emile's voice. Even swimming in darkness, an inch from death, he felt a surge of emotion. Had they made it? Had they survived? And more importantly, did they accomplish the mission? After all they'd endured, he had a longing to know. To be sure his sacrifice wasn't in vain. It was stupid, selfish; emotions he'd cast aside long ago, before he even underwent augmentations as a SPARTAN. Yet there they were, lurking in the depths of his dying mind.
Another voice came, from beyond the darkness. It's gonna be okay. This voice, he recognized as well. Noble Six. He strained against the newly-returning pain. The shackles of death, shaken off, if only briefly. Though his eyes were open, he could scarcely see; yet, his eyes felt fine. The possibility of brain damage occurred to him. It had been one hell of a crash.
Why was she here? They had a mission. He should be dead, and they should be getting off-world on the Pillar of Autumn. Jun was already off-world with Halsey, God willing. So why had she come back for him? And for that matter, how exactly had he survived? His last memory was of flames engulfing him, and the world fading to black in an instant. Even the armor he wore shouldn't have saved him from that.
Had he just...gotten lucky?
Carter forced his eyes open wider with a heavy cough, throwing blood from his mouth with each spasm of his chest. "Hell, Lieutenant...don't sugar coat this." As his vision started to come into focus, he noted the jagged metal piecing through his chest on the right side. How he'd survived the crash, he'd never know, but with this, he doubted he'd live long enough for it to matter. He'd used up the last of his biofoam to keep flying that pelican, after he'd been shot.
"You shouldn't have come back, Six. Waste of time. Where's the package - Emile? Did you get it to the Autumn? If you tell me you let that ship leave you here, just so you could come back for--" He's interrupted by further, spasming coughs. "Goddamn it. ... Finding me was like finding a needle in a haystack. But we're just as dead either way. Find a pelican, steal a dropship, something - but whatever you do, get the hell off this rock. That's...an order, Lieutenant."
Carter's eyes begin to grow unfocused; vision fading in and out, but he's holding on. He's slipping back into that inky darkness, only this time, it's not foreboding. It's welcoming. As if calling him home. He didn't want to die, especially if there was chance he could still help. But given his current predicament, the odds seemed to be tipped rather heavily against him. His breathing slows, and he cracks a fleeting smile. "I'll...give Kat and Jorge your regards, Six. Give those Covvies hell. Show 'em...Noble isn't gone yet."
#indomitus ferox#{ ask }#HI I GOT A LITTLE CARRIED AWAY#Figured this counts since injuries wouldn't be expected; a corpse would be#{ Noble Leader | Carter-A259 }

From the Incorrect Quote Generator...
Yes, this is going to have a Halo theme, what can I say? 😇
Ais: What’s up? I’m back. Master Chief: I literally saw you die. You died. You were dead Ais: Death is a social construct.
Six: *dies* Kat: Timer starts now! When are they coming back? I say two months! Jun: Bullshit. One month. Emile: Nah, half a month. Jorge, sobbing: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? SIX JUST DIED! Carter, scratching chin in thought: One week.
(Why can I legit hear that in their voices??? 😂)
Noble Six: Here’s the cold medicine you asked for. Noble Six: *dumps 3 shopping bags of wine on the table* Master Chief: ...Thanks.
Kai: You want some leftovers? Cortana: What are those? Kai: You've never had leftovers before? Cortana: No, ‘cause I’m not a quitter.
Cortana: We need to distract these guys. Master Chief: Leave it to me. Master Chief: Centaurs have six limbs and are therefore insects. Discuss. Brutes & Elites: *immediately begin arguing*
Master Chief: What's two plus two? Kai: Math. Master Chief: ...I will accept that answer.
Sgt Avery Johnson: Where are you going? The Arbiter: To either get ice cream or commit a felony. I'll decide on the way.
(ZOMG, this perfection, lol!)
Master Chief: I’m so happy two of my favorite people are getting along now. Kai: Uh, Vannak and Riz are not getting along. Master Chief: They’re not trying to kill each other. Kai: You may have a point.
Cortana: FIGHT ME, YOU NERD ASS SLUT! Master Chief: At least try to sound slightly more sophisticated when you threaten someone. Cortana: Oh, I'm sorry. I should ask; dost thou want to engage in a duel, my good bitch? Master Chief: Somehow that's worse.
Master Chief: May luck (and this picture of Kai eating shredded cheese at 3 in the morning) be with you.

I think the reason why Halo Reach haunts me so much and remains my favorite Halo game is how final all of it is. With the other ones, you know there’s an after. You don’t with Reach. You know that, even if you’re a first time player, something is wrong as you go throughout the game. You’re overwhelmed. You don’t know why.
And then you see what the consequences of all of this are.
May I give you..
Emile: “I’m ready! How ‘bout you?”
Jorge: “Tell them to make it count.”
Kat: “Where does he get off calling a demolition op priority one-“
Carter: “You’re on your own, Noble. Carter out.”
#Carters words will literally haunt me forever#I’ve been thinking about it nonstop recently because of my Halo fic#like that’s the words of a man who knows he’s about to be very very dead#and yet.. Noble is his team and he loves his team 😭

Trying to make characters based on Noble Team from Halo Reach (Carter, Kat, Jun, Emile, Jorge, SIX, and retired or killed members Thom and Rosenda). Got anything that could work for them?
So here's the thing about Noble Team: I don't think that any of them are interesting enough to make Quirks out of. They are all distinct, but not unique enough in their skills or abilities to warrant having a Quirk for each one. I do have Quirks that would fit Spartans, like "Mechanize" for the armor, "Bulk" for their physical enhancements, and "Polymath" for their variety of skills, but that doesn't offer a lot of variety. However, I do think that you could give them Quirks based around the Armor Abilities from Halo: Reach. Most of them work fine as Quirks and each of them is unique enough to stand on their own. The only problem may be Armor Lock and Camouflage, since I don't think you could work their EMP and Radar Jamming into them, but they could work together as their own Quirk, leaving enough for all eight.
Sprint: Rush EMP: Black Out Jet Pack: Thruster Evade: Kinesthetic Hologram: Projecting Armor Lock: Crossguard Drop Shield: Safe Point Camouflage: Hideaway

this has probably already been said but the Halo Reach story is so fucking compelling with everything that happens and a lot of theories and explanations exist but biggest one to me is this:
[SPOILERS but dude it's been ten years so. uh.]
The biggest thing to me, who frankly was shit at understanding big themes and all that so this isn't exactly a smart or anything idea, in Reach was the fact that when you're introduced to the game, Noble Actual cutscene and all that. You're told that you're filling shoes that the team doesn't really want filled, but you already get impartial respect from Carter, can't say much for everyone else. In ONI: Sword Base, you do some cool-ass thing and get a pat on the back from Jorge, and the story moves on. Yada yada, you keep moving forward and who dies next? Jorge. Okay, could be a one-time thing, but next death is approaching. After a few missions done lead by Kat, you get a compliment, something along the lines of "You're one steely-eyed spartan". Guess who dies in the next minute or so? Kat. In writing that portion I completely omit Jun but I don't know how to approach that, they kinda just dip, the most involvement we get from them is the following mission to ONI: Sword Base, but we don't exactly gain the Spartan Approval of other missions. So you get the point, you get a Nobles' respect, it doesn't last too long as they end up dead. I'm a bit fuzzy on the details after that but the game follows that rule, with Jun as an exception. Carter has his speech about "That AI chose you for a reason -" and promptly dies. Emile generally follows it too, I just can't remember it clearly. Anyways it's just much more compelling in the sense that, You're introduced and bluntly told that this team doesn't exactly want you here, and you finally start gaining respect only for it to be shortlived. It's sad and it only builds the whole pull this has on the character and the player. I'm no essay writer and this may not be coherent, but who gives a shit. huzzah, 2nd Grade Level Theme Comprehension
