Some things I do:
If you can't stand or get into your bed, make a blanket nest on he floor! Bring activites and snacks if you can, and it can be a good activity for brain fog
Nausea snacks. Find a consistant food that you can eat when nauseous (for me its buttered toast, for op its shortbread) and make sure you always have it on hand, or the ingredients to make it
If you can't eat due to being paranoid about someone poisoning you, try to bake or cook something. Go to the store and get new ingredients if you have to, just having the food be under your control can help
If you have trouble paying attention during lectures, try to learn a small thing and do that. I have friends who doodle, one who makes things out of clay, and I make paper cranes (i have around 300 now)
Heating pads and ice packs can both be great, and using both at the same time can help more than just using one (ex. ice on your head, heat on your hips)
Find railings! Whichever side the pain is on, grab the railing on your other side (painful leg should be on the outside of your body) and put weight on your hand and painful leg at the same time to minimize pain
Scoot around. If you can't walk due to weakness and not pain (for the love of all that is holy please do not do this if you have too much hip pain) then walking on your knees can be helpful
Similarly, "duck walking" is a bit easier but tends to exasperate my knee pain sometimes so be warned
Safe drink. Can be for nausea or paranoia or just because of the texture, but having a drink that you like does wonders. It can be water or a smoothie or tea or a drink from a cafe, just anything that can hydrate you
BRING THINGS PLACES! I carry my wrist brace wherever I go incase I need it. "But I'm not having a bad wrist day" well, you might soon. It sucks, but it's nice to not have to "save" when you can use your wrists
These may not apply to every disability, but I use these regularly and they help with my pain, anxiety, adhd, and so on
I've been disabled for almost 29 years. Here's what I've learned.
Tablets sink and capsules float. Separate out your tablets and capsules when you go to take them. Tip your head down when taking capsules and up when taking tablets. Liquigels don't matter, they kinda stay in the middle of whatever liquid is in your mouth.
If your pill tastes bad, coat it with a bit of butter or margarine. I learned this from my mom, who learned it from a pharmacist.
Being in pain every day isn't normal. Average people experience pain during exceptional moments, like when they stub their toe or jam their finger in a door, not when they sit cross-legged.
Make a medical binder. Make multiple medical binders. I have a small one that comes with me to appointments and two big ones that stay at home, one with old stuff and one with more recent stuff.
Find your icons. Some of mine include Daya Betty (drag queen with diabetes), Stef Sanjati (influencer with Waardenburg syndrome and ADHD), and Hank Green (guy with ulcerative colitis who... does a bunch of stuff). They don't have to be disabled in the same way as you. They don't even have to be real people. Put their pictures up somewhere if you want; I've been meaning to decorate my medical binders with pictures of my icons.
Take a bin, box, bag, basket, whatever and fill it with items to cope with. This can be stuff for mentally coping like colouring books or play clay or stuff for physically coping like pain medicine or physio tape.
Decorate your shit! My cane for at home has a plushie backpack clip hanging from the end of the handle and my cane for going places is covered in stickers. All of my medical binders have fun scrapbooking paper on the outside. Sometimes, I put stickers and washi tape on my inhalers and pill bottles. I used my Cricut to decorate my coping bin with quotes from my icons, like "I've seen enough of Ba Sing Se" and "I need you to be angrier with that bell".
If a flare-up is making you unable to eat or keep food down, consider going to the ER. A pharmacist once told me that since my eye flares can make me so nauseous that I cannot eat, then I need to go to the hospital when that happens.
Cola works wonders for nausea. I have mini cans of Diet Pepsi in my coping bin.
Shortbread is one of the only things I can eat when nauseous. Giant Tiger sells individually-wrapped servings of shortbread around Christmas or the British import store sells them year-round. I also keep these in my coping bin.
Unless it violates a pain contract or something, don't be afraid to go behind your doctor's back to get something they are refusing you. I got my cardiologist referral by getting in with a different NP at my primary care clinic than who I usually saw. I switched from Seroquel to Abilify by visiting a walk-in.
If you have a condition affecting your abdomen in some way (GI issues, reproductive problems, y'know) then invest in track pants that are too big. I bought some for my laparoscopy over a year ago and they've been handy for pelvic pain days, too. I've also heard loose pants are good for after colonoscopies.
Do whatever works, even if it's weird. I've sat on the floor of the Eaton Centre to take my pills. I've shoved heating pads down my front waistband to reach my uterus.
High-top Converse are good for weak ankles. I almost exclusively wear them.
You can reuse your pill bottles for stuff. I use my jumbo ones to store makeup sponges and my long skinny ones to hold a travel-size amount of Q-Tips.
Just because your diagnostics come back with nothing, it doesn't mean nothing is wrong. Maybe you were checking the wrong thing, or the diagnostic tool wasn't sensitive enough. I have bradycardia episodes even though multiple cardiac tests caught nothing. I probably have endometriosis even though my gynecologist didn't see anything.
You can bring your comfort item to appointments, and it's generally a green flag when someone talks to you about it. I brought a Squishmallow turkey (named Ulana) to my laparoscopy and they had her wearing my mask when I woke up. I brought a Build-A-Bear cat (named Blinx) to another procedure and a nurse told me that everyone in the hall on the way to the procedure room saw him and were talking about how cute he was. Both of those ended up being positive experiences and every person who talked to me about my plushies was nice to me. If you don't feel comfortable having it visible to your provider during the appointment, you can hide it in your bag and just know it's there, or if you're in a video appointment, you can hold it below frame in your lap.
Get a small bucket, fill it with stuff, and stick it in your bed (if you have room for it). I filled a bucket with Ensure, juice boxes, oatmeal bars, lotion, my rescue inhaler, etc. in October 2023 in anticipation of my laparoscopy and I still have it in my bed as of January 2025.
If your disability impacts your impulse control (e.g. ADHD, bipolar disorder), you should consider setting limits around your spending -- no more than X dollars at a time, nothing online unless it's absolutely necessary, and so on. Or, run these purchases by someone you trust before committing to them; I use my BFF groupchat to help talk sense into myself when I buy stuff.
Feel free to add on what you've learned about disability!

PSA TO TRANS ADULTS IN THE USA‼️‼️‼️‼️
my best friend works at an LGBTQ+ non-profit and is the director of it. he has legitimate sources that he works with to help the community and one of them that works in distributing medications said to begin preparing to potentially be cut off from hormone therapy. Trump only targeted trans youth so far when it’s come to banning hormone therapy, but he is testing how far he can take this by increasing the age to 19 and he is going to try and ban it nationwide for ALL trans people. adults included. if not banning entirely, he will at least do everything in his power to make it as hard as possible to continue receiving HRT.
i am lucky enough that i get 4 vials of T per month that are not empty after i draw my dose so i have a lot stocked up that aren’t expired to use as a last resort if and when this happens, if i can at somepoint no longer get refills.
please if you are trans and you rely on hormones, stock up. do not throw away extra/leftover vials if they’re not empty. save everything you can that isn’t expired.
it’s about to potentially get very very real and bad. it may not, but it very well could at the same time so prepare accordingly the best you can.
and please, stick together, don’t lose sight of the community around you that supports you, remember what you DO have in life that makes it worth living, and know that there will be an end to this.
stay safe, stick together, and never lose sight that there’s eventually a light at the end of this tunnel. and most importantly, don’t disappear. stay visible for the trans youth that have no one but us trans adults to look to for guidance and reassurance. we will get through this somehow, someway, someday.

Writing Tips: An Unforgettable Villain
Tumblr media
A villain is the antagonist of your story whose motivations and actions oppose the protagonist and drive the plot of your story.
A villain is the opposite of a hero. In contrast to the hero, a villain is usually compelled by a desire to commit acts of cruelty and immorality.
Bestselling author Dan Brown advocates for writing your villain first—even before your hero—because it is the villain who will make the hero heroic.
Tips for Writing a Great Villain in Your Novel
Choose a real-life model. Find a real person to model your villain after. It could be someone you know, a person from history, or a famous serial killer. Try writing a brief character sketch in which you list their positive and negative attributes, their physical appearance, and their state of mind. Once you’ve done some brainstorming, be sure to differentiate your fictional character from your real-life model (you don’t want to get sued!). You can do this by changing identifiable elements like name, age, and specific actions or events.
Put yourself in their shoes. When it’s time for your villain to act, put yourself in their place. Think about challenges or hardships that might tempt people to act out or behave badly. How do you react to bad things? Tap into those emotions and try to apply them to your villain.
Consider their motivation. Just like with your main character, determining your antagonist’s motivation can help you unlock other aspects of their character, such as their goals and their personality.
Introduce a villain with a bang. A strong introduction to your villain sends your reader a clear message that this character is malicious. In Charles Dickens’ David Copperfield features an unforgettable introduction to antagonist Uriah Heep, whose seeming politeness is overshadowed by a face so shocking and ugly that it is described as “cadaverous.” His introduction immediately establishes the character as a villain.
Characteristics of a Good Villain
Every great hero needs a great villain. Villains are the antagonistic force of your story that challenges your hero and drives the action. Most great villains share a common set of characteristics.
Strong connection to the hero. The best villains are inextricably connected to the hero, and aid in the hero’s character development through their inherent opposition to them.
Clear morality. Every villain needs to have his own morality. If a villain spends part your story killing people, you need to give him or her believable reasons for doing so. Make the reader understand exactly what desperation or belief has driven him to it. For instance, in Ray Bradbury’s dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451, primary antagonist Captain Beatty’s mission is to find and destroy books because he believes that books cause people to reject the stability and tranquility of a life of conformity. He has a strong moral point of view, and the reader believes that he believes he is doing the right thing by trying to burn books. After all, every villain believes they are the hero of their own story.
A worthy opponent. A great villain should be a strong and worthy adversary to your hero. They shouldn’t be weak and easily beaten, nor should they be so powerful that they can only be defeated by random chance. In Sherlock Holmes, his arch-nemesis Moriarty is a criminal mastermind who is every bit as smart as Sherlock. Having a villain who is in many ways equal in skill and intelligence to your hero will raise the stakes of their encounters, as it creates a credible threat that your hero might be bested.
Compelling backstory. Any good villain should have an interesting and credible backstory. In addition to creating a deep and more three-dimensional villain, a memorable backstory allows ourselves to identify and even sympathize with the villain. For example, the Gollum character in The Lord of The Rings trilogy used to be a normal hobbit until he was corrupted by the power of the One Ring. In addition to deepening the character by showing us the full breadth of his journey from virtuousness to wickedness, Gollum’s backstory forces us to consider how we are sometimes tempted by bad or unethical forces in our own lives.
Villains should be fun. Let’s face it: evil villains are fun. In Thomas Harris’ Silence of the Lambs, readers hold their breath whenever Hannibal Lecter appears on the page. Whether it’s their black-hearted sense of humor or their odious worldview, our favorite villains possess qualities that we love to hate.

It is *not* from the Bible. It is related to a specific interpretation of the Bible, and a relatively modern one, called Penal Substitutionary Atonement. You may recognize this theological theory from the churches you grew up in; it originated with Martin Luther, but was popularized by Calvinists. Info/rant under the cut.
From Wikipedia: “Penal substitution, also called penal substitutionary atonement and especially in older writings forensic theory,[1][2] is a theory of the atonement within Protestant Christian theology, which declares that Christ, voluntarily submitting to God the Father's plan, was punished (penalized) in the place of (substitution) sinners, thus satisfying the demands of justice and propitiation, so God can justly forgive sins making us at one with God (atonement). It began with the German Reformation leader Martin Luther and continued to develop within the Calvinist tradition[1][2][3][4][5] as a specific understanding of substitutionary atonement. The penal model teaches that the substitutionary nature of Jesus' death is understood in the sense of a substitutionary fulfilment of legal demands for the offenses of sins.”
Notably, this is *not* the only possible interpretation of the Bible, and was very likely *not* the interpretation early Christians had. If you’d like to see what other Christians think of PSE, the Wikipedia page has a criticisms section.
Additionally, Christians who hold to PSE also often think of God as having perpetual anger and disgust towards humanity because of our sinful nature (as mentioned by OP above). However, there are several theological responses to this, and quite simple (if reductive) ones: If God is the example of perfect love (since God is Love), would he not love his creation? Did he not call us very good? Is it loving to regard someone with perpetual anger and disgust, and to wish they were dead or immolated?
Notably, Calvinists do have responses to these arguments; I’ve heard smth along the lines of “God is also Justice and our immolation would be the only just response to our inherent sinfulness; his love is the only thing holding him back”. I’m sure someone who currently believes in PSE would have a clearer response than what I remember secondhand. But again, this view of God and humanity’s relationship is *not universal*. Catholics, for example, believe that salvation is a perpetual choice; belief is demonstrated not simply in words, but in your works. Someone who believes in Christ should love their neighbor and perform works of mercy (feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, caring for the sick, etc). As John said, “faith without works is dead”. The Catholic tradition of the Harrowing of Hell also contradicts PSE; if those humans before Christ had already been sinful and destined for Hell, having angered God, then why did Jesus restore them to Heaven upon his death? One could argue that PSE applied retroactively, but that also leads to further questions on the nature of God and his mercy; if Jesus is God, and Jesus died for humanity and freed the souls in Hell, why does Jesus act so much more merciful than God? This could go on forever, with scripture and biblical tradition and church doctors from several points of view.
My point is, life doesn’t have to be this way. Christianity doesn’t *have* to be a religion of terror and fear of eternal punishment, constant self-monitoring of every slight fault, and self-hatred for your sinful nature. The interpretation of humanity as “worse than the scum of the earth, it took killing a [sic] god to make you salvageable” is *new* and *not universal*. Personally, I think PSE and related Calvinist concepts of humanity’s sinful nature fosters abuse and self-hatred, and turns what should be a joyous celebration of faith into an exercise of misery.
Absolutely let’s critique PSE and how widespread it is in American Evangelical Christianity. Absolutely let’s critique Christianity as a whole. Not criticizing u OP; just clarifying.
TL;DR: yeah it is fucked up. It also doesn’t have to be like that, and isn’t the only way Christians can understand their relationship to God. What if we stopped.
Look, we joke a lot, but really, "you were born evil, wretched, worse than the scum of the earth, and it took killing a god to make you salvageable, so now you'd better be grateful to that god and thank him 10,000 times a day for it and fill your thoughts with him 24/7 and abide by the letter of his every word, lest you suffer unimaginable torture for all of eternity" is a truly horrendous thing to believe about yourself and other people

My (personal) thoughts on Jimmy Mouthwashing and how the fandom perceives him: did anyone ask for this, no, but i just wanna talk about him!
Under cut to make things look cleaner
Jimmy is the most hated character in mouthwashing, and for good reason, his actions are morally wrong and what he did to Anya is just absolutely disgusting and horrible. But is Jimmy a bad character? No.
Yes he’s a bad person but thats because he’s well written, and sometimes the fandom seems to skip over all of that. There is a reason why for 80% of the game you play as Jimmy, you are supposed to feel this connection to him, you need to play as him to understand why most of the crew was able to follow him, he’s good at manipulating even the person playing.
Jimmy has so much depth to him, everything we see through his eyes is for a reason, the way we see characters through his perspective is for a reason, and thats what makes him such a great character.
Everyone tries to ignore him most of the time “oh sorry you had to draw Jimbob” or stuff like that and while it’s funny it’s not the only view you should have. Jimmy’s character is not meant to be pushed to the side, if he was you wouldn’t play the game through his eyes.
This man is smart, conniving, manipulative, and jealous of power he’s not able to handle. This is apart of the theme that is taking responsibility but Jimmy is usually mischaracterized as this dumb evil horse lover.
He’s not the only one who seems to mischaracterized, Curly is too. Everyone seems to act like he’s this perfect dude whose great for Anya and would be the hero but he is just as in fault as Jimmy.
Curly was the one who knew Jimmy and always saw the best in him, it is heavily applied that he knew what Jimmy was doing to Anya and did nothing about it when Anya didnt even have to say his name for Curly to know. This is because Curly thought of Jimmy as his friend and his right hand man (which is also kinda mischaracterized)
Curly didn’t just like, hate jimmy all of this time, no they were friends, and Jimmy’s betrayal hit him. Curly also had troubles with taking responsibility, he didn’t take responsibility for how he did almost nothing to stop Jimmy and also he couldn’t take responsibility for being the captain and keeping everyone safe.
You play as both perspectives so you see how similar the two are in some ways and how different they are in others. It’s not a question of if Curly’s better for Anya because thats not the point, the point is to show that they both are at fault and both cant take responsibility which isnt shown that often.
Anya doesn’t need Curly, she needs time to heal, she needs to go to therapy and take care of herself, not date someone who was friends with her abuser. She needs time before she should be in a relationship with anyone because what happened to her is a traumatic experience that no one should go through.
Also Daisuke and his thoughts on Jimmy as well seem to be twisted. Daisuke trusted Jimmy, theres a reason why Jimmy was able to convince him to climb into the vent, its because Daisuke felt almost kinda safe, like he could trust him.
This is because Jimmy is a good manipulator, however a character acts around Jimmy is because Jimmy has shaped them to feel that way, Daisuke wouldn’t have just climbed in there if he didn’t think that Jimmy wouldn’t mean for him to get hurt, even though we might see that he did we have to put our perspective with Daisuke.
Personally I hate Jimmys actions and who he is as a person but I love his character, i like how it’s portrayed in such a new and unique way. Every character in mouthwashing is (I didnt talk about Swansea because I couldn’t think of anything at the moment😔)
I feel as though while no one should forgive Jimmys actions, they should see that he’s a good character and very very well written and is not meant to just be pushed into the background. His toxic masculinity, his manipulative mind, his incapability to take responsibility even in the end when he put Curly in the pod instead of himself, its all written for a reason.
I uh, hope you enjoyed this ramble, it’s something I’m very passionate about because i really really like character analysis and character writing and Jimmy’s character is one of my favorites to just try and figure out the inter workings of.
Without Jimmy, Mouthwashing wouldn’t be the game it is

As someone who likes MF ships as much as I like MM and FF ones and doesn't really go by canon sometimes, I think it is entirely funny to say Shoko and Nobara had any "romantic" chemistry with any of their male friends when they are two female characters in that same story in canon stated they would never ever consider such as relationship with those male characters.
There's different kinds of chemistry, folks. Romantic chemistry and no chemistry at all aren't the only kinds of chemistry.
#miwa and kokichi that's romantic chemistry#choso and yuki that's romantic chemistry#but shoko with gojo and geto? nobara with yuji and megumi?#oh there's chemistry alright... the 'aye we vibin' we besties' kind of energy#they have the energy of people who just can get along#I'll be honest the 'why can't two male characters just be friends' have no room to talk#look I'm all for friendship regardless of gender#but you can't be pulling out that card every time you see a same gender ship#and they act like it can't be applied for mf ships especially in canon the pair are actual friends#'let people just ship what they want'#'gay ship shippers are always so pissy when you ship a man and a woman'#SO DO YOU!! YOU AREN'T EXEMPT BECAUSE YOU DO IT TOO!! BOTH SIDES DO IT!#some same gender ships aren't really all that to me but that also goes for mf ones#deadass both sides are annoying#just like some shippers only feel that characters should only be with their gender romantically#some of you also act as if because a character is a man he has to be with a woman and vice versa#so stop you're not oppressed#'jjk fans when you ship a man with a woman' FIRST OF ALL you're wrong#it's not jjk fans it's just fans of any fandom that don't like to see a man and a woman together#and yes that would because of misogyny#but saying 'jjk fans' would also include you and others who do ship a man and a woman together right? uh huh...#I'm sorry but just as you feel some characters of the same sex don't have ROMANTIC let's be specific chemistry#some characters of different genders also don't have ROMANTIC chemistry to some people#especially in a story like jjk where let's be honest... yeah the track record here is just appalling#just kiya's thoughts#jjk#jujutsu kaisen

So it's not that authors consciously believe that crusades were good - they just took all the 18th-19th century glorifying poetry and applied it to a fictional world, or maybe just took the mythology of a just war of absolute good versus absolute evil. Or maybe they want to play a wilderness campaign with added chivalric theme and that's the first framing they thought about.
It doesn't matter. What matters is that sometimes we get works that glorify fictional crusaders, through this glorify real crusaders and then help fash to mask their intentions. It's also not like a crime in itself - nobody is going to jail for accidentally writing a work about noble knights waging a war against some absolute evil in a way that resembles crusades. But it has to be avoided and dealt with when created.
But what does that mean? ‘It has to be avoided and dealt with when created’. Do you genuinely mean just not portray crusades, holy wars, good vs evil, at all? Because otherwise what do you mean ‘avoid and deal with’ it?
Because people will use literally anything to forward their cause, no matter the intent of its authors or the internal resemblance to said cause. There are rabid nationalists who use Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Born in the USA’ as a rallying cry despite the fact that any clear-headed listen to the song would show that it’s very much not that. So is the answer here that no one play that song again? That he shouldn’t have written it in the first place?
I don’t think that censorship, or self-censorship in anticipation of potential reactions, is the answer to defeating propaganda. I don’t think that we can or should just make whole areas of history or means of expression taboo to try and avoid them being co-opted. Because all that means is that no one ever learns about or questions those areas of history. Or questions themselves about those areas of history.
The crusades were a massively complicated, centuries long period of history involving several cultures, religions, and a whole host of varied motivations among every side involved, with the end result of centuries of warfare. There were ‘good’ and ‘evil’ people on all sides. There was false piety and genuine belief, there was rampant opportunism, there was raw imperialistic greed disguised as moral piety. Different crusades had different causes and different results, were enacted by different players. It was complicated, and fascinating, and educational, and it deserves to be examined, from any number of angles.
A piece of work going ‘if the thing they said they believed was happening, that a force of evil was attacking something precious, was what was happening, would it have justified what they did?’ and then taking the time to play that out and entertain nuance and come to various conclusions, that work is more valuable to me than …
I mean, what’s the alternative? No work at all? Nobody ever questioning the fascist portrayal of events?
The burden is on the audience to examine what the work says, what the work thinks it says, what other people are saying about the work, and, on the balance of evidence, who the audience then thinks is right, if anyone is, and to what extent. You don’t defeat propaganda by telling people not to look at things. You defeat propaganda by telling people to think about everything they look at. The fascists can ‘claim’ whatever the fuck they want. That doesn’t mean it actually belongs to them.
Yes, certain topics are going to attract more nazis. And yes, that means people who want to explore those topics for other reasons need to be on the look out for said nazis. But it doesn’t mean that that topic should never be mentioned again. Because that lets them claim it. Lets their stories be the only stories about it.
Generalisations do not help. Taboos do not help. Censorship does not help.
Let people write whatever the fuck they want. In whatever cause they want. And then just question all of it. And teach other people to question all of it.
kind of concerning how married the fantasy genre is to "crusades as a basically good thing"

ya know… I may be delusional, but I feel like I actually have a decent shot at my dream internship this summer… Come the new year, I am going to reach out to my contacts in the organization and see if they can put me in touch with the hiring manager so I can introduce myself… And, since they are not a well-known location, I doubt that they have many applicants, which also gives me a better shot… AND I have a few tricks up my sleeve for #ShowingNotTelling how committed I am to working with them specifically… JUST perhaps it could all work out…

me: i'll join my uni's co-op program! it gives me work experience, and access to jobs i normally wouldn't do since they'd usually be outside of my skillset and experience
job search sites: oh yeah btw you'll only see at most 4 jobs for your field each semester because all the jobs we have are for business, IT, or engineering students and you are none of those so you can't even apply to these because it involves an entirely different skillset than you are developing in your bachelor of science program. have fun!

Hi. I’m the person who almost attempted suicide, twice. Been nearly a year now, it’s out there, I do not care who knows.
Didn’t want to jump in this but here we fucking go: First to be fucking clear, and which no one, might I add. came to me directly to ask, all the the Logan/anon drama was NOT the reason I did why I did what I did. It didn’t help the situation, but it wasn’t the sole reason. I had so much IRL issues going on at the time, and I realize the petty stuff with the anon hate made it seem like it was the only reason but I barely thought about it while I was doing the thing. I have half the mind to bill a certain party the rest of my medical debt but hey, we’re gonna move on.
I cut myself off from fan servers and from most people in the community due to being anxious all the time, thus being alone since late 2023. If I was talking to anyone, it would be purely about the game or art stuff. Snowy & Goons, how DARE you use my situation to your benefit, and any of the posts I’ve made. You cannot outright accuse someone else of my suicide attempt without any concrete evidence. That’s a damn serious accusation. All we have are petty Tumblr anon messages. And ooo guess what, not every single Logan fan is gathered at Simprock, there are plenty of other individuals within the community, outside of fan servers. Who’s to say that your goons aren’t the ones posing as the anons for them to be framed? Idk but you can’t keep talking out of your ass. My harassment started roughly around 2020/21, I can’t even remember who said what at the time and who’s to say the same people are even around anymore. Should I have collected evidence? Seeing how it all came to this, yeah I definitely should have. I don’t have evidence, but most importantly NEITHER DO YOU. Which applies to many things for you.
Simprock was the last server I had joined. During the brief time I was there, was treated with nothing but kindness and respect. I admit, I do still have a sort of distrust with them, for other reasons, but with this it’s hard not to be on their side( and with apparent evidence) . Actually in fact, it was when Snowy had also joined Simprock, I bolted out of there shortly. I wasn’t there long enough to get to know anyone but I saw your name and my skin immediately crawled. We never talked directly but I first saw you in the bootleg my time server (late 2022-mide2023) the vibes were immediately off. I’m not of fan of Logan either but you were constantly belittling them, not cool. To think you’ve escalated this far…baffling.
Back to using my posts to your benefit, the zine post. How the fuck did you immediately accuse them again when I said I wasn’t joining either zines. Again I couldn’t even guess who the anons were but hey, could be your goons posing again. Just because a person liked it immediately meant it was an attack against you? Dude. Reaching aren’t we.
Some days I take a step back, and think. There were several different ways to have handled my harassment, and I was thinking one of those ways was the one you’re taking Snowy, and I can’t begin to imagine it, not even a little. Why? Because this is fucking insane behavior. I wouldn’t have begun to do something like this good gracious. If I made anyone uncomfortable last year anytime after my attempt or during all the hate anon messages, I genuinely didn’t mean to and I apologize. I appreciate more than anything that the lot of you gathered to help me during and afterwards. I’ll always be thankful.
I’m going to cut myself off here before I get pissed again, but one more thing.

F YOU SNOWY I FN KNEW ITBWAS YOU TALKING SHIT ABOUT QUINLAN. I don’t play about my characters and for you to mischaracterize them like this UGH JUST 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕
Please Leave me Alone
Hi, I’ve been sort of attempting to avoid making a post about this but due to numerous concerned individuals reaching out to me and the amount of receipts that I’ve been given regarding this I have to make one last attempt to address the person who has been doing this to me for the past few months.
I know what you’re doing, and you know it’s dishonest and wrong. This needs to stop. Targeting others and involving them in your personal drama just for interacting with me is unacceptable, and the misinformation and harassment have to end.
I’m giving you the chance to take accountability and tell the truth. If I continue to hear that this behavior is still happening, I’ll have no choice but to address it directly.
I’m not interested in some self-made competition for attention and the drama - I just want to share my love for this game and community together with my friends. Please leave me alone.
For the record: I have never, and will never, send anonymous hate to anyone - especially not over being queer or creating gay art. As a queer minority myself, I stand for marginalized communities and will always support safe, inclusive spaces for everyone.
It’s incredibly unfair to your friends as well, who you have most likely been feeding false versions of the story. It’s also unfair to pull completely uninvolved individuals trying to enjoy their time in this space into this especially when you know that this is untrue- then hide behind alt accounts and your friends, which will unfairly put them in a position where they have been defending someone who has been dishonest to them.
I wanted to believe that you were going through a rough spot and that it led you to doing this in a bad state of mind, but this is becoming excessive and I want you to please use this opportunity to reflect on this because you know what you have been doing is wrong and hurts everyone.

hello upper middle class northern usamerican tumblr user. i want to play a game. you will notice that you are in a super america convenience store in rural kentucky - you have three minutes to purchase a snack and drink of your choice and make normal small talk with the cashier. however, if you use the word "cryptid" or generally make reference to appalachia and its inhabitants as "wild", uncivilized, or lacking restraint around alcoholic beverages during your time here, i will personally tie you to the chassis of a four wheeler and tip it into the river. live or die. make your choice
#speak friend and enter#i can appreciate mothman as much as the next guy but can we stop treating appalachia like it's the subject of a richard attenborough doc#i come from a long line of hillbillies and i like to think i've got a good sense of humor about it but sometimes i am tested#like. this is not a lawless land with a moonshine still in every holler and nameless voices in the woods!! this is a normal town!!#idk maybe i'm reading too much into it but i'm just tired of the cultural fetishization of appalachia by people who aren't from here#and who don't know anything about it. like yeah you know mothman and what hooch is and that's all well and good#but do you know what the opioid epidemic really is. do you know about the structural injustices that keep people like mcconnell in power#i'm not saying you have to apply dialectical political analysis to every issue that occurs in the region to be able to have an opinion#but also like. i'm tired of people looking at places like where i grew up and making them into things they aren't#like. on the one hand we have ''ooh spooky hills!! run if you hear the trees whisper your name''#and on the other we've got ''isn't appalachia so depressing...so hashtag ethel cain core...shame it's got no value beyond aesthetics''#and on yet another hand we have ''i - a person with no ties to the region - am going to take up the cause of every social issue#occurring across the entire appalachian region so the world will see just how bad these poor hill people have it. i am very smart''#and like. it's frustrating#i'm not saying you should never speak about appalachia if something we have is interesting to you#nor am i implying that i want to gatekeep discussion of the region's issues to the community bc that won't accomplish anything#i'm just saying that like any place it's complex. it's got its good things and it's got its bad things.#and you shouldn't isolate the good from the bad or vice versa - especially if you don't know the context in which those things happen.#and for the love of god dont let your own ignorance cause you to boil down those issues into a reductive and inaccurate set of stereotypes#learn about us from us. not from tiktok not from movies and for christ's sake not from hillbilly elegy. i hate that fucking book#anyway that got weirdly serious but i mean it. putting appalachia as a talking point up on the shelf until y'all can speak intelligently#ok to rb

the problem of the matter is i did internalize so much of what ex friend believed about me. even though i knew he was wrong and knew what was happening and tried to stop it and if i took more action to stop it would have been abusing power i held in a way i couldn't live with myself for.
#A BAD PERSON TRYING TO RUIN YOUR LIFE WOULD'VE GOTTEN YOU FIRED AND EVICTED IN WINTER IN ALASKA YOU MOTHERFUCKER. WHICH I DID NOT DO#he was renting a room from my dad. for cheaper than he wouldve been able to find anywhere else. his brother was too#his brother didn't pay rent for over 6 months and my dad just forgave him the debt because my dad knew how much of a difference it wouldve#made when he was that age. and i had told him ex friend was family to me & my dad applied that to the brother too. bc he is a good person.#and one of the strongest parts of my support system. and i didn't say a word to him about what was happening until i knew he already had a#plan for when he would be ending ex friend's lease. so there would be no subconscious impact on ex friend's housing either#mgmt at work straight up asked me if i thought ex friend should be fired immediately multiple times and i'm in retrospect livid they put me#in that position but told them to go by the strike system in the employee handbook and to follow policy that ex friend knew perfectly. that#it couldn't be on me as acting assistant manager to choose#and after 10 months of workplace harassment i got a different job to save my life. ex friend didn't get fired.#he did saw trap shit to my brain!!!!!! jesus christ#he moved cross country to live with his long time gf he called his wife despite never having met irl. to a way more conservative state.#despite being gay. and she left him this summer lol#hadn't checked his twitter in over a year when it got pulled up frm an old link and i saw that. and when he was already at a low point too#me voice. oh no who could've seen this coming. from how you behave in every relationship in your life#may delete this in the morning. but i have to talk about it sometimes#i'm never reaching out for closure both bc he wouldn't give me any and because i know it would trigger him and i don't intentionally trigge#people. unlike him :)#vampire pit#like. i have to talk about it sometimes. i have to talk about it.#jam posts

"You can't punish everyone" might apply to ignorant or inactive civilians, not the perpetrators of the worst crimes imaginable. And yes, this time I'm using "crime" in moral sense, since they're backed by their laws.
There's also the insistence the oppressed are those, who should make that first step even though they're fighting for bare survival, and their enemy's philosophy is literally build on demonisation of their every good action.
Brum might bear a huge chunk of responsibility for current state of affairs, but he's hardly the first. Drüskelle are centuries old organisation, and if we were to point a finger, and excuse the others due to his influence, why isn't HE EVER held accountable?! He might be disgraced AFTER FOUR BOOKS OF FREE REIGN WE'RE SHOWN, but that's supposed to prevent what?!
Realistically, he still has cronies and loyal followers, and political power is fickle, when handled badly, which let's be honest- the whole Rasmus impersonation is a steaming pile of bullshit. It's just waiting for someone to put two and two together and voilà! Nina's newest pet Fjerdan burns alongside her.
Also yes, the poor boys might not have been taught better, but this is a whole narrative issue in context of all of the text. The infantilization IS there and so are its effects on a reader. The constant effort to put them on the same level of responsibility as Grisha IS there. The tiny little detail the only named one is around the same age as Matthias, therefore had been in the field for some three-ish years (Joran is a drüskelle for six month during CK, and around fourteen, and Matthias had been well-known from fights near Ravkan borders about eight months before this, which means he repeatedly took part in military actions outside their capital.) IS there. The fact there are fully grown adult drüskelle present during the celebrations, and Nina chooses to spare them ALL, when she has a chance to cut the head of the snake IS there. The context is everything, and it's not very flattering towards Nina's logic or moral backbone, and certainly not towards LB herself.
@aleksanderscult Now might be the time to find that interview... :D
Don't even get me started on KoS. That's a whole new level of crap with its instant sainthood and drüskelle suddenly worshipping literal mythical monsters, when an ordinary Healer is "unnatural" enough to burn. Either you believe changing people's minds takes no more than screaming the new truth from the top of your lungs (, and quite frankly- you're an idiot), or you can insist they were brainwashed so heavily the notion something might be wrong with their beliefs can't enter their mind without a careful deprogramming.
The first option might be a pacifist's wet dream, but that's about it. The second one? With Matthias' miraculous 180° in a few weeks? It's not on the paper.
LB might've intended anything, but she sure as hell didn't describe it.
Six of Crows- Chapter 37
Tumblr media
No?!
They believe Grisha capable of deceit, not virtue.
Tumblr media
Oh yeah! A bit of infantalization! Bois will be bois, right?!
Pretty sure they'll be all (or at least mostly) legally adult, and calling them boys only serves to seemingly lessen the danger they represent and rids them of responsibility for it.
Look! They're so young they barely understand what they're doing! We wouldn't want to ruin their lives for one small mistake, would we?! They were taught to act like this. They don't know any better!

I have an old ask saved, unanswered for now, saying "LB wants us to sympathize with the drüskelle so bad it makes her work stupid".

your tags on parenting make me super emotional <3 that's exactly the kind of parent I want to be one day
Thanks! I feel the same way honestly. I have a lot of opinions about parenting and I can't say that I will be the perfect parent because that doesn't exist. I can't even say that my hypothetical future kid/kids will be perfect because children don't grow in a vacuum. I can only control what I do and say and try to be the best version of myself and hope for the best.
#i often hear people say that involved parenting is too difficult to be realistic or that modeling behavior is too hard#and yeah. yeah it is. it is one of the most difficult things a person can do. but who the fuck has a kid thinking it'll be easy?#kids are hard work and commitment. they should never be something done on a whim. you should never half ass raising a kid#and not to say that people should be perfect all the time or that people shouldn't have 'me' time#its just that i genuinely don't understand people who shove their kid into as many activities as possible to get away from them#or put all their hopes and dreams and expectations on them. if it's so easy and attainable to live up to your expectations as a parent#then do it first. you want your kid to have straight A's? great. show me your report card at that age#im just... kids are just people. and they just want to hang out with their parents and receive love and attention#and anyway ive lost my point im just very passionate about this topic#very passionate#when im older and financially stable I want to foster teenagers i think. i want to be there for them and model healthy adult behavior#and help them make that transition. i want to be that person for them. because everyone needs help and love and family#and honestly? my parents fostered kids my entire life. THEY MODELED THAT BEHAVIOR#i understand that family is not a given. i understand that family is above all else forged. and that applies to everyone#not just found family or fostering. if you don't know your bio child then can you really call yourself family?#family is *forged* regardless of the context. and if it isn't? if you skip that step with your bio kids? well thats a major fucking issue#anyway nothing but respect for my parents who bought groceries for my foster sister when she was out of care. FOR MONTHS#nothing but respect for my parents who took me with them to give my foster sister their old stroller when she needed it#nothing but respect for my parents who take in my old foster brother every weekend to 'babysit' because they know he isnt in a loving house#nothing but respect for my parents who adopted my siblings without a word when they asked#honestly they are why i am who i am today. i was a kid with adhd and learning disabilities who hated school#and now I'm an honors student and getting my doctorate. because they did the academia with me#and im not saying they did my schoolwork. im saying that they assigned books to read over the summer and we would read them as a family#and we would discuss the literary concepts and themes together as a family. i love dissecting media! and thats because of my parents!#it was a family activity! same goes for science and art and music#and coding and history ect ect#anyway im going off on a tangent but basically what im saying is that my parents didn't ship me off to camp every summer#we just did things as a family together. i remember the time and bonding with them. and i modeled that behavior#and not to brag but i think I turned out alright#anyway tangent over!
