Something about how he died there in the same place he nearly died as a boy

Something about how he died in that place, bloodied and wounded, raven black hair, no difference between him and his boyhood self

Something about how that black hair was perhaps a sign that he was still living in the past, that a piece of him was eternally frozen at 21, at 16, at 15, he died a man yet he wasn't one, he wasn't a boy but not quite a man

Something about how his portrait among all the other heads of Hogwarts is the only one whose hair is fully dark, whose face isn't lined with age.

Next to them, he is a boy. Perhaps he always was.

Severus Lives, but not freely, many want his head, Voldemort's followers must say. The need of a bodyguard at every public event is humiliating but becomes a habit, Harry volunteers and becomes his most paranoic protector, the need to protect the one who cared for him so much is unbearable.

Imagine a guy spends 7 years of your life physically and mentally abusing you, making your life hell along with his 3 friends because he doesn’t have the guts to do it alone, and one day you find him dead, and people expect you to feel sorry for him?? Like, what world do these people live in? They should be thankful I didn’t kill him myself lol.

I keep thinking of a scenario where Remus and Sirius break up (sometime around 5th to 6th year) leading to Remus trying to date people.

In this AU, Remus adopts Harry after discovering the abuse he withstood at the Dursley’s. Sirius was unable to because of his wanted felon status, but Remus was able to find a werewolf shaped loop hole for himself.

Following the break up, Remus tries to get over Sirius by dating around. Harry encourages it obviously as he wants his adoptive father to be happy with someone else but doesn’t really do much else besides that.

And after a lil while Harry hears nothing about him dating, but still sees him going out on a weekly basis. He’s curious, but aware enough that asking would likely be an invasion of privacy so he just lets sleeping dogs lie (ha!) Until one day, after a month of summer break, Severus shows up.

Harry’s face just drops, because he knows, in an instant he has gathered all the pieces of the puzzle and clicked them together. He knows Remus’s type, Snape fits it perfectly, and he’s also heard the stories from their escapades during Hogwarts, by all accounts they might as well be a match made in heaven.

So the first thing he says when Remus introduces the idea of him dating Severus is the iconic line of, “I’m not calling him Dad.”

It has Remus sputtering in embarrassment and Severus dumbfounded but also sneering.

I love that Draco never told anyone about Harry being in remedial potions.

Maybe he was imagining some bad fanfic scenario where Harry ended up running to him like 'oh draco please don't tell anyone about the fact that im in remedial potions.' and draco could be like 'ha ha now i bet you're sorry you didn't take my hand' and harry would be like 'oh yes i am so sorry. won't you please keep my secret tho? and maybe you could help me get better at potions since you're so brilliant? i was wrong all along about you' and then they'd end up becoming friends

Honestly irritated at how many people brought up Snape, and even went so far as to claim liking Snape was a 'red flag for you as a person', and one person saying they were a 'reformed snape liker'. Liking a character says nothing about your moral character. The level of immaturity at thinking that a person who likes a character you don't like is morally inferior to you. Also just irritated that this kind of thing is being encouraged in a fanfiction group. This kind of thing is 100% destructive to fandom.

okay, one thing about james. he is the only marauder (casting peter aside) who i just can't forgive. i like remus, and while i dislike sirius i can at least appreciate his strenghts and his good sides. but i can't forgive james for the swm incident and many people seem to have trouble understanding why this isolated event ruins his entire character. because i am willing to believe that he worked on himself and became a better person after hogwarts (mainly because i don't think lily would have ever married him otherwise). i completely believe that even at hogwarts, he was considered a likable person by many. that he was fun to be around and friendly to most. that he wasn't all bad or only a bully.

but here's the thing. there are things you only have to do once to be irredeemable, and what happened in snapes worst memory, to me, is one of those things. i do not care if james was an amazing person outside of this one incident. and i understand that everyone has different morals and that other people can forgive james - or not forgive severus. unlike james, severus got a chance to redeem himself and he took it. he was still a bully, but here's where my personal perception comes into play again. i had many awful teachers who were bullies and i know how much it sucks (in my country, teachers are insanely hard to get fired, meaning they truly can get away with almost anything including obvious discrimination). i can't justify his mistreatment of students, but to me his good sides outweigh it, so i can forgive and like him despite this flaw while others can not which is valid too. but sexual harassment is not something i can forgive no matter the circumstances or the person who did it. i would feel the same way if the roles had been reversed and james had been the victim - i wouldn't be a snape stan. ultimately we all have our own individual morals that play into how we perceive these complex characters.

tldr: it doesn't matter to me if james was a balanced character and a good person outside of swm because committing sexual harassment 'just once' is still one time too many and makes anyone permanently irredeemable in my eyes

I’ll never understand why the ship of Sirius and Remus is so popular when Sirius’s world literally revolved around James. I mean, if Sirius liked men, he was in love with James and probably wasn’t even fully aware of it. In fact, I’ve always seen quite a parallel between Sirius/James and Snape/Lily because in both cases, the first ones seemed to feel (platonically or romantically, however you want to see it) much more for the others. I’ve always seen it as pretty clear, but maybe it’s just me, idk.

I think Bellatrix x Severus has potential to be very fun, in an AU Setting, because to be honest? the reactions to it would be so fucking funny, no matter what kind of AU it is. For example, in an AU where Voldemort is just a politician and Severus + Bellatrix are both in similar years, and therefore able to be students together:

The sheer amount of gremlin energy they would bring to the table. The absolute MENACES they would be. The thing with Bellatrix and Severus is that they are BOTH capable of such extreme levels of devotion, that if that devotion were aimed at someone who not only reciprocated but MATCHED it? there is nothing they could not achieve.

BUT FURTHERMORE:

Young Severus? That's a troubled little gremlin freak right there. The thing is... lily just can't match his freak at that point. maybe she did once, when they were younger, but as time went on, its pretty clear her priorities were just different. but BELLATRIX? she ABSOLUTELY matches his freak, encourages it, makes it grow, even. I think Snape would appreciate that, having someone who was just into it all. and speaking of Lily..

secretly a gremlin lily is cool and all; I'm a fan of it myself. but its like??? ok but why be secret about it. why bother with that shit at all. simply be a gremlin and be proud of this goddamn Sneep! have a little integrity.
