The way Agatha is so open and honest and vulnerable of an ability she has and can't control - even nearly four hundred years later - and how she hides afterwards and is clearly hurt by it (and by hearing Nicholas) and yet no one ever believes her.

The narrative around Agatha - and that we hear most propagated by Jen - is that Agatha is evil and isn't good; she's a serial killer; she just wants power.

But the Agatha we've seen isn't like that. She left the Salem Seven alive and didn't go after them. She continues to protect Teen BILLY from harm.

Agatha has a power that she cannot control that has been killing people for her entire life, and no one (except maybe Rio) has ever considered that she can't control it. Has ever believed that she can't. Has ever thought that maybe this is the reason she doesn't have a coven in the first place. That maybe the reason she's so prickly and stand-offish and obnoxious is to keep people from her because she will kill them just by accident.

Rotten Star was messy. Two people who misunderstood a couple situations and became messy. Heck, when Starlo and Pancake got married, MONTHS later after their rivalry ended, some of the townsfolk couldn't believe they got to that point. Some thought they were still rivals to a degree. It was that messy.

Pancake kicked Starlo in the face when they first met, after she crash landed into the Wild East one night, and thought he was gonna shoot her. Heck he had his gun out. It was self defense in her eyes. Later, Starlo saw Pancake robbing his friends. Despite the fact she said Mooch stole her stuff, she had the squirrel pinned to a wall and snarling in her face. Mooch had swipped many of her things, and that was the last straw.

Since then, they've been enemies. Pancake would rough up some monsters, steal a thing or two from Black Jack's, constantly tormented and annoyed Starlo and his posse, heck there were times she held a knife to his throat. She was a nuisance. And even tho they kinda were crushing on each other, it was messy.

When Pancake finally fell off the cliff that broke many of her bones, which Starlo was chasing and picked her up and carried her off, that's when she finally had to drop the act. Despite all she done, he still warned her about the cliff snd carried her to the hospital. That's when she decided, she was done. But despite that, she still had to fix her reputation with the townsfolk. Turning a new leaf and being seen as someone who eventually was redeemed.

Then and only then did her and Starlo's relationship finally start to grow. (Something something they only fell for each other's personas and not each other, only after did they get to see who the other truly is)

honestly, i don't think sayori submitted that new poem to monika.

i think that's completely out of character for sayori to submit it. to write it, less so, but to submit it into a public forum where so many of those people would read it? from a character who has been hiding her depression for who knows how long because she didn't want anyone to worry?

sayori would not have submitted that poem.

monika put that poem there.

and like - this is one of my things with the common interpretation of monika killing sayori, but like. she did not. she did not want that. i don't think you can read any of her actions and think she wanted any of that.

but monika expects the player to check on sayori. monika berates the player for not checking on sayori. (i'm not sure how much monika understands about what choices the player has and does not have at this point.) monika literally makes the player go back to check on sayori by putting that poem in there.

the player never has a choice either. whether to go check on sayori or not.

and monika changes the narrative and sends the player back by putting in a poem that sayori would never have submitted.
