My Thoughts on Wish 💫💜🌳🐐🫧

⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️

FUCK I’M SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG

First of all, this review is dedicated to that one Wish stan on Twitter who said I have "no media literacy" when I tried to say that Magnifico wasn’t really threatening, but wasn’t trying to start off a big fight or anything.

I hope that person is having a wonderful day, and I hope this review proves that I do actually have media literacy 🥰🥰

Now, back to the film:

I really wanted to like this movies guys. A film about the origins of the wishing star sounded amazing!

And after I saw the film TWICE in theaters, I was in love. I thought surely my opinion wouldn’t change.

But…the more I thought about the movie, the worst it got.

For example, the songs. I don’t think I need to explain to you guys why "I let you live for free and I don’t even charge you rent" and "throw caution to every warning sign" and "watch out world here I are" DO NOT WORK.

I don’t blame the songwriters for this, because I’m sure they are very talented people.

But they were clearly not the people who should have been in charge of the music.

Not to mention the fact that Julia Michaels was given TWO WEEKS to write “This Wish”….

The Characters

Asha 💜

I like Asha’s design enough, like her braids. But her personality is as bland as a scoop of vanilla ice cream (jk, vanilla ice cream is goated).

Lots of people have complained that the “adorkable” leading lady trope has worn out its welcome.

I used to disagree since those “quirky” characters were some of my favorites (Like Rapunzel, Mirabel, and Moana), but Asha has definitely reached my limit with them.

Rapunzel, Anna, Moana, and Mirabel all feel like distinct characters from each other (yeah stfu ModernGurlz), but Asha feels like an imitation of them, like the cheap Walmart version.

And she’s not really interesting either, she has a passion for art, but the film doesn’t do anything with it. In fact, nothing about her feels genuine. She feels so hollow and like she only has two personality traits: Quirky and the protagonist.

Like, during “This Wish” (which is probably the worst Disney “I want” song ever) I never felt connected with her. It just felt like, oh this is the Disney “I want” song because this is a Disney movie.

I didn’t understand what Asha wanted, “something more for us than this”? Okay…what about you? What do you want?

With all the other Disney “I want” songs, I could feel a connection and what the character wanted.

So yeah, Asha is probably the worst protagonist in the modern era of Disney. At least in terms of writing.

And while I did say I like her design, I prefer her concept arts.

King Magnifico 🫧

Chris Pine seems like he is having a blast in the recording booth, and I gotta say his performance was pretty good. But it wasn’t enough to save this character :/

So, the main problem with his character is that I can kinda agree with him on the whole wishes thing. But, I also barely found him threatening.

The most threatening things he does in this movie is crush a bunch of balls (that’s what she said) that make people feel sad and chain everyone to the ground.

Not only that, Magnifico’s use of his magic is SO LAME! Another major reason I was never intimated by him is because he never did anything really scary or threatening with his magic, all he could do was create giant hands and chain people up. Like…ok? Is that all you got? Really? 😑

Also, I don’t think I need to tell you that his villain song SUCKS ASS. You know it, everyone knows it. I’m not getting into it. Go listen to a real villain song like "Hellfire" or “Friends on the other side" instead.

As for the other characters, I don’t have much to say about them unlike Asha and Magnifico.

Star ⭐️

The Star was really really cute, even tho they were just a Luma/marketable plushie. And also REALLY reminds me of a squish mallow, am I the only one who sees that?

I should definitely mention how he was originally gonna be a StarBoy, but we’ll get to that later don’t you worry. That is a VERY important element in our discussion.

The Other Characters This Movie Has

Amaya is so BORING! She barely has a character outside of being the queen and Magnifico’s wife, she was just…there. You could remove her from the movie with very little tweaking and nothing would change.

I would’ve preferred it if she was also a villain like Magnifico, which WAS originally in the script. But like StarBoy, that is something we will get to later.

The Teens are fine, but really forgettable. I like how they are all based off the Seven Dwarves, that’s cute. But it feels like they didn’t have any character outside of that.

Yeah, Dahlia is Asha’s bestie, but there wasn’t enough scenes between them to show me their dynamic to make me feel like their friendship was genuine.

Simon ended up snitching out on Asha and betraying the Teens in the middle, but I literally couldn’t have cared less because what do we know about this guy other than he’s sleepy and gave his wish to Magnifico?

As for the other Teens, just like Amaya, they could’ve been removed from the script and barely anything would change. The grumpy one had some sassy moments, and he’s voiced by Harvey Guillén (Perrito’s VA) so that’s something I guess. The shy one had this one gag that had comedic potential, but wasn’t really expanded.

And as for the other Teens…uh…I can’t remember a single thing they did honestly.

And then there’s Valentino…fuck that goat man. 😑 I love Alan Tudyk and his roles in other (better) Disney movies, but yeah Valentino is definitely my least favorite role he’s ever done.

All of his jokes were unfunny, and were mostly butt jokes. Which is probably my least favorite form of comedy ever that I cannot stand for the life of me.

Speaking of which, this movie just was not funny. None of the jokes made me laugh or chuckle or even smile.

Raya and the Last Dragon is a Disney movie that I really don’t like, but there were some jokes that got a chuckle or smile out of me. Wish didn’t even have ONE good joke.

Uhh…Asha’s grandpa was build up as someone important but he just peaces out in the middle of the movie with Asha’s mom, who did not do a single thing other than a ball getting shattered making her sad.

And that’s all the characters in this movie.

Legacy Nods, why they do not work

Alright, what else is there to talk about?

Maybe the endless amount of Disney references? I get it’s the 100th anniversary film and all and Disney has had Hidden Gems like that in their films. But the difference is the ones in previous films were subtle and hidden in the background, and it would probably take you a rewatch to see it.

But in Wish? They all feel shoved down your throat. It’s like: “HEY REMEMBER THIS MOVIE??" “REMEMBER THAT??” “DON’T YOU WANNA WATCH THAT MOVIE???” It’s so exhausting.

When I heard the movie was gonna have “legacy nods” as they liked to call it, I was excited and thought it would be so much fun to point them all out and to pay closer attention to the background.

But instead every nod was thrown at my face and was heavily obvious. Disappointing 😔

The Animation

Let’s get to the animation now. It’s probably (one of) the most discussed things about this movie, especially when the teaser first dropped last year.

Lots of people were complaining it looks like a Disney Junior show or Ai and said it looks unfinished. Even one of my best friends who was just as excited for this movie as I was admitted it looked weird.

At first, I loved this art style and thought it was beautiful. And I was determined it would look even more beautiful on the big screen.

And now? I…actually still like it. I definitely don’t hate it, and thinks it gets some getting used to. I think it’s actually kinda pretty.

Apparently it’s supposed to be watercolor and combined with 2D animation, which is neat.

But compared to the films like the Spider Verse films or Puss In Boots 2, yeah it’s not the best.

I personally would’ve preferred it if the film was in 2D, Disney’s 100th anniversary would’ve been a PERFECT time to return 2D animation! But, nope 😒

Yeah it’s bad, but…

I know I’m making it seem like I hate this movie, but I really don’t. I’m disappointed in it more than anything.

If anything, I’m thankful this movie was still made.

Why?

Well, easy.

It allowed many people to be able to tell their own version of the story.

I’m sure we’ve all heard of StarBoy and the cut Evil Amaya.

And yeah, these concepts could’ve made this movie 1000x better.

But because of these concepts, so many amazing people have been given the opportunity to rewrite the movie and give amazing stories.

I have read so many wonderful Wish rewrites, which are so much better than the film.

At the end of the today, Wish is a bad movie.

But, I’m glad it exists.

Without it, we wouldn’t have gotten so many amazing stories.

I’m gonna give Wish a 4/10, still bad, but I appreciate its existence for the rewrites alone.

Today was a big day for the iconic trio. Emily and Garcia had promised little JJ a shopping trip for her birthday. Emily knew Garcia was going to spoil the girl to no end and JJ knew it too!

“Let go! We going be late!” JJ cheered, running to the door. She had her backpack on and the fluffiness

of it was bouncing with the girl.

“I’m coming! I’m coming! Have you got everything?” Emily asked the over-excited girl who was bouncing on her tiptoes at the front door.

“Yes! Let goooo!” She swung the front door opened and ran to the car.

“You’ve got to be on your best behaviour!” Emily warned as they pulled up at the shopping centre.

“Yes, Yes, I know! Let go, have fun!” JJ wiggled in her seat, unable to take her belt off herself.

“Do you remember our rules?” Emily asked, just watching her girl get more and more excited. It was cute, she couldn’t deny that but she also knew that if she wasn’t careful, this day could get out of hand.

“Yes! I do mama!” She cheered, wiggling her little legs.

“Tell me then,” Emily was just teasing at this point.

“Alway hold your hand. No wander off. Pay for everyfin. Ask nicey. Blah blah. I know mama!” She said, tilting her head to the side after each one.

“Okay, good girl. Let’s go find Penny then,” Emily smiled. She unclipped JJ’s seatbelt and they both got out of the car. Instantly, Garcia came running over to them and JJ went running to her.

“Penny!” She cheered loudly.

“JJ!” Garcia giggled with the same enthusiasm.

Half an hour later and they were in their third toy shop.

“I have this one tooo?” JJ asked, running up to a giant, pink squish mallow.

“I’m pretty sure you already have that one at home, love,” Emily laughed and looked at the 8 squish mallows Garcia already had in her basket.

“I not mama! We need this one too,” she said, smiling and putting it on top. “Stay,” she told it and began walking away.

“Jay, do you really need any more?” Emily asked, tilting her head to the side at the blonde plodding around the store.

“Yes, I have to get 20!”

“I don’t think you need 20!” Emily laughed. JJ nodded.

“I think I does,” JJ laughed in response, picking up another and putting it in the basket.

“How about just 10 Jay?” Garcia suggested.

“Otay, 10.” JJ nodded and grabbed one more, turning around and looking at the two intently.

“That’s 11,” Emily giggled, pointing at the one in her arms. JJ pouted.

“I get 11,” she nodded.

“Okay, put it in the basket and then we can go buy clothes!” Garcia said, holding out the basket. JJ cheered and put it in, causing Emily to roll her eyes.

“I want dem in allllll the colours,” JJ sighed, holding up all the hangers for the cropped t-shirts.

“Sweetheart, why don’t you just get three?” Emily said, leaning against the wall.

“But there’s six different colours!” JJ whined.

“But you don’t need six, you have plenty at home and we have bought other tops too.”

“But which colours shall I leave out? I no want to leave them out Mama!” JJ huffed. Magically, Garcia appeared.

“Oh my goodness! They are such pretty colours!” Garcia squealed, instantly taking them all off JJ and putting them in the basket. JJ glanced at Emily and then turned to Garcia.

“I no wowed them alllll,” she grumbled a little bit.

“Nonsense, you can never have too many clothes,” Garcia muttered and grabbed JJ’s hand. “Lunchtime ladies?” Emily only nodded and headed out of the changing rooms, seeing the large smile on JJ’s face because she got what she wanted for the fourth time today. Emily wasn’t ungrateful. She loved that JJ was being treated but she didn’t appreciate her being spoiled. Everything she had said no to today or at least suggested a no to, Penelope had gone behind her back and done it anyway. Emily couldn’t massively argue because this was Garcia’s treat for JJ and she was paying for it all but she couldn’t help but feel slightly embarrassed. She didn’t like JJ being bratty or spoilt because it got to her head and she knew, Emily knew, today would end in tears.

“I wan tacos!” JJ cheered, as they headed out the shop.

“Emily doesn’t like tacos, how about something else?” Garcia suggested, feeling sympathetic.

“Noooo! I want tacos, mama go somewhere else,” JJ giggled, pushing at Emily’s chest a little bit. Emily smiled and just hugged JJ, squeezing her, trying not to get frustrated.

“How about we go get tacos and Em goes to get something else and we meet at that table, over there?” Garcia suggested, pointing to a table. JJ nodded happily and just dragged Garcia away, leaving Emily standing there - no idea what she wanted to eat.

“Do you need any more toys?” Emily asked as they approached another toy shop.

“Of course, she needs more toys!” Garcia giggled, swinging her arm with JJ’s.

“Mhm, more toys!” JJ smiled and swung her arm also. Emily could tell she was getting tired now.

“One more toy shop and then it’s home time then,” Emily said.

“So one more toy shop, one more clothes shop, one more shoe shop… one more everything shop and then a jewellery shop!” Garcia giggled. JJ laughed sweetly too, heading over to the toys.

“Two more shops and then we’re done,” Emily said, sternly.

“Em, she loves it!” Garcia argued, pointing to the sweet blonde plodding through the toys.

“She does yes but she’s tired and the longer we stay out, the grumpier she’ll get,” Emily warned.

“She’s not going to get grumpy on a shopping trip!” Garcia tutted, heading to catch up to her little bestie who was picking her fifth Barbie doll of the day.

Two more shops were down and JJ was getting more and more tired. She was rubbing her eyes and she’d started holding Emily’s hand, wanting her home comforts.

“Right! Say goodbye and we’re going to get going!” Emily said, enthusiastically. However, Garcia whined.

“One more! There was this new sweet shop I wanted to go into!” she explained.

“Sweeties!!” JJ gasped, looking between the two older women.

“No, please no more sweets. She’s had enough and we have bags full!” Emily pleaded.

“Mama pleaseeeeee,” JJ whined, tugging on Emily’s arm.

“Emily, pleaseeeeeee,” Garcia mimicked.

“No. You’ve had enough, it’s home time.” Emily said, shaking her head.

“Mamaaaa, I want sweeties!” JJ huffed, stomping her foot.

“And you have some in this bag, you don’t need more. Come on, say goodbye,” Emily encouraged, trying to keep calm.

“You can never have too many sweets,” Garcia teased and Emily sighed.

“Yeah, you can never have too many sweeties,” JJ giggled, shaking her finger at Emily. Emily grabbed her finger and looked her dead in the eye.

“No.”

However, at the simple, two-letter word, JJ’s lip began to wobble.

“Oh come on, no water works. You have sweets, you’re tired. It’s time to go home,” Emily said, wrapping her arm around her young girl.

“Sweeties!” JJ huffed, stomping her foot more. This is what happens when she has been allowed everything she wants all day.

“Oh, how can you say no to that face?” Garcia whined, looking at Emily sadly.

“You have to. Or else you get this every time,” Emily sighed. “You’ve let her have everything she’s asked for all day, even when I said no.” Emily laughed it off a little bit and moved to sit JJ on a nearby bench. She huffed and wiggled as Emily pushed her shoulders down so she sits but eventually let her. Emily bent down in front of her, looking up at JJ’s sad eyes.

“I know you’re tired,” Emily said gently. JJ grumbled in reply. “How about we head home now and then on the way home, you can have some sweets in this bag?” Emily suggested.

“B- but I wan more sweeties from de shop Penny wanted go to,” she mumbled, throwing around her arms and huffing.

“I know but I’ve said no. It’s home time now,” Emily reiterated.

“Why?” She whined loudly.

“Because I’m saying so. I think you’re tired and ready for a nap.”

“I not tired mama,” JJ whispered, shaking her head. “I pomise.”

“Jay,” Emily was sterner now. “Mama has said it’s time to go so it’s time to go. Say goodbye to Penny please,” she said. She stood up as she knew she wasn’t getting anywhere with talking to her.

“Noooo!” JJ whined, throwing back her head. Garcia sighed, looking at the young girl. She was throwing about her hands and she threw herself onto the bench - having a genuine toddler tantrum.

“This, Penelope, is why we don’t spoil her,” Emily sighed. Seeing it now, Garcia did feel bad so she headed over to JJ. She put her hand on her back and bent down to see her crying face.

“You head home now and tomorrow, I’ll bring you some sweets from that shop,” she suggested.

“Pomise?” JJ sniffled.

“I promise baby, do you want to give me a goodbye cuddle?” JJ nodded and sat up softly. She wiped her eyes and then wrapped her arms around Garcia.

“An a goodbye kiss,” she mumbled, pursing her lips. Penelope smiled and kisses JJ’s lips innocently and JJ turned to Emily.

“You ready now grumpy bum?” Emily teased, holding her hand out for JJ. JJ just glared at her before taking her hand and then leaned in for a side cuddle.

“Bye Pen, see you tomorrow. Thank you for a good day,” Emily said, waving at Penelope. “Have you said thank you?” She reminded JJ. JJ quickly shook her head and ran back to give Garcia another hug.

“Than’ you, you the bestest ever!” she whispered and squeezed her tight before heading back to Emily.

The car journey home was very quiet because JJ was asleep before they’d even left the car park. It didn’t surprise Emily, she knew it was going to happen.

She had had a good day, she really had. She’s glad JJ enjoyed herself and she knew she deserved such a good gift because she’d been really well-behaved recently - it just sometimes went too far. But not every day was going to be perfect with a toddler and Emily knew that. She was just glad it was all under control now.

Why you should start collecting Squishmallows.

In 2022, Squishmallows was the number one toy sold. I’ve personally been a squishmallow collector since the beginning of 2021. However, years before my collection of the toy, I was also a heavy collector of the Sumikko Gurashi plushes. Sumikko Gurashi is a small collectible squish just like a Squishmallow from the company called San-X. They’re almost identical, and actually, Jonathan Kelly, the man who created Squishmallow, was inspired by the Sumikko Gurashi when he visited Japan. 

Here are a couple of reasons why I believe Squishmallow is the best toy for anyone.

All of them are unique and special. If you ever bought a squishmallow, you will know each of them has a name and their character written on the tag. For instance, Tinley the Axolotl. Her birthday is on November 11, 2020. She loves to cook and recently became the head of chef for her new restaurant. She has a dish called Noni’s pasta, which is her specialty, dedicated to her Noni. Some collectors even speculate that one of the Squishmallows is inspired by the famous EDM DJ John Summit. Pyle, the lavender Squishmallow, has a description that had all the fans, both the squishmallow and John Summit, asking. The description for Pyle goes as follows:

“When the sun goes down. Pyle, the tax accountant, becomes DJ Pyle Remix, the hottest record-spinner in town. From disco to dubstep, this far-out fungus loves helping 'Mallows dance the night away. In fact, they sometimes boogie 'til breakfast! Got any requests?”

John Summit was also an accountant before his DJing career had taken off. These little details make Squishmallow fun to collect, and every time you get a new one, people get excited to see what kind of squish it is.

No studies have been shown, but a lot of people claim Squishmallow has helped them fall asleep when hugging their Squishmallow. Alot of college students have them to release stress.

4. Lastly, they have multiple sizes. I know Sonny Angels is one of the top-rising toys for 2023. Yes, they’re also cute and collectible, but they don’t have multiple sizes like Squishmallows. Squishmallows can vary in size from 24 inches to 3 inches. There are also small squishmallow clips you can hang from your bags.

OK I know I mentioned how much I adore backstory in the last part but repeating that again here because I love the more closer to present time backstory here. The whole moving back after being away for a while, how he so quickly fell back into the throws of reader being back. And there’s that freakin’ childhood friends thing that gets me every time: You were the only person left in the world, outside of Maverick, who had known him the longest. You mattered to him.

He was briefly reminded of the time you got bangs in high school. While he’d thought they had look nice on you, you on the other hand had immediately regretted them, pinning them back until they’d grown out.   THIS DETAIL. Ugh I love this, this is incredible from a writing standpoint, it just paints this picture of pining in such a realistic and honest way. I feel like I’m in these characters heads as they think and it just sets the tone so fucking perfectly. 

SWEET BOB<3 I loved this. It’s sooo coded in their characters I can’t stop saying it.  

“Damn, that’s a lot of dogs.” This line took me out LOL. 

Your beer a casualty of the chaos when what looks like a Border Collie mix jumps up on the table. As someone with a Border Collie mix, I felt this in my soul. I have lost many of somethings (blankets, squish mallows, pillows, food) to my border collie mix so my heart goes out to reader LOL. 

Another detail I love throughout this fic: The Penny notes. It feels so effortless like of course she probably has something behind the bar, and like just the little tidbits like that feel so thought through especially for just these clips in this fic. 

“For the animals, thanks for not spilling your milkshake in my car like you did when you were 15.” !!!!!!! SDKLAJFKLHJKGH foaming at the mouth I wanna know when she did spill it I need every detail. 

That childhood friend knowledge trope peeks in throughout here make me so happy. I think it’s what makes it my favorite because like Rooster KNOWS her. The allergies, not liking light beer, in the next part when he orders her favorite entree for the table, knowing she’d want gin to ease the nerves. It’s things like that that just make my heart fucking SWOOOON.

It was clear that you thought it had been his doing for how quickly his friends had included you as part of the group, but he knew it was all you. They’d all been so surprised when his nice, sweet friend was the one who kept playing the raunchiest hands during Cards Against Humanity. You’d pretty much swept every round that night. He was pretty sure more than a few of them would trade him for you in a heartbeat.

While they liked you, they loved a competition. He should have seen it coming the second Phoenix volunteered to set you up on a date, because what one person does the rest will undoubtedly follow suit. 

And that’s how Rooster found himself watching you on your first of the dates from inside the Hard Deck, the chaos of it all drawing more than one set of eyes to where you were on the outdoor patio.

IRL stuff.

Holy shiznit. Yes tis I, blowing the 2 years worth of dust off this tumblr. I'll be honest, I just got distracted with a lot of things on the IRL front. So writing as a whole was affected literally as it took a back burner.

The fight with Bedbugs:

We won. Yay. Now I have to put my room back together.

In Cat News: We only have one cat now. I mentioned Trix before, I had to surrender her to the humane society because she had a blockage in her intestines and I'm very certain after this long, my fur baby did not survive the operations involved to extract the whole thing. I still miss her fuzzy sassy calico face.

Jazzy and Ariel, two bonded siblings were fixed, and were doing well during the bed bug fiasco, however I have a PSA to include in this post about cats.

Ariel, met an untimely end in.. a dryer. It was accidental, nobody thought to check said appliance before it was turned on. I actually feel guilty about this, because I should have checked the dryer, Ariel was a very quiet cat, and their mews were so soft, you'd have to strain to hear her. Add that with, I'm used to the dryer sounding a little off balanced do to the heavy dryer loads of jeans, and pants that my father wears. This is by no means trying to justify the event, I'm just telling the truth.

This death happened last year in October.

Hence the PSA: If you are a pet owner, always check your washer and dryer for your pets before you start a load of laundry. I've developed an additional PTSD flashbulb memory because finding Ariel in the dryer , un alived was the most heart wrenching thing, and I pulled away from tumblr entirely after that.

I've been self healing with coloring stuff. Stayed offline for the most part, except playing xiv with my closest and best friend and romantic partner.

Who came up to where I live back in May, we spent a lovely time together, and they gifted me with art supplies, and some squish mallow pokemon babies, a coloring book, new markers, and a new book. We did partake of some booze which was very yummy. Our only regret was that the time spent, was too short.

The way I want to write about every mc collecting squishmallows 😩

Dragon mc is the only one who’s collection is canon, but I just need to talk about the different MCs

Dragon mc, miss squishmallow queen, loves to hunt. The boys love it too, so much that they’ll go with her to help her get which ones she wants, and however many she wants. They’ll wake up at 5 in the morning, and spend 4 hours in line, all of them coddling mc during.

I’m talking she’s in their laps, wrapped up in a pink sleeping bag with a mask over her face. (They all have masks. To keep her and them safe from being harassed.)

She’s bounced on their laps, and lulled to sleep while her daddies wait, and when she mumbles a little “s’excited” from her sleeping bag they all coo and go “me too baby. So so excited.”

(She loves dragon squishmallows. They do their to get any they can. And it’s impossible to be out of their price range.)

(They would also do this with jewelry releases. More dragons go to the those, and they really want mc to go with them.)

Little fishy mc only wants animal squishmallows, especially sea creatures. When her daddies get her maggy the manta ray?? Mc cries happily and sleeps with it until it’s raggedy and needs a spin in the washing machine. After that she’s ☺️ once again, and cuddling it while she watches finding dory for the 10th time.

Street racing mc? I don’t know why, but it sounds so cute that an absolute baddie loves squishy little stuffed animals.

Imagine the pictures they take of mc on the hood of their cars, hugging her newest squish to her chest as she smiles happily 🥺

Also this could definitely happen.

Oh, brother mc definitely is a little hoarder with her squishmallows. Her daddies stop at retailers on their way home, just to check for some of the ones she wants.

She has so many toy nets, and displays in her playroom that hold them. (They also let her have a squishmallows alert installed on her phone. It’s also on theirs, but they don’t need it. She texts them incessantly when it comes out.)

(Picture Jungkook running out of a college lecture because one of mc dream mallows just restocked in a store. He gets daddy of the day when he comes home with the squish. 🥰)

Headcanons cause I'm gay

Garcello

-Definitely was either a skater kid or a guitar guy in highschool. Hasn't played or skated since he graduated but he still remembers how to do the basic stuff. Occasionally he'll get bored and play a bit in his room or skate back and forth in the alley but only if he knows not a lot of people are around. He only really let's Annie hang around when he does any of these things since they're so close and because she was around when he was got into those things. Annie bugged him to learn a couple of songs she really likes so sometimes she'll sing along (if he knows the lyrics he'll sing as well)

-Man may be like 26/27 years old, but bros got back problems like he's 50. Probably due to an accident he had as a kid (prolly from skating) and it just healed weirdly. (Annie jokingly calls him an old man for it)

-Hes one of those people that send the most chaotic and random memes to you at like 3am. They never make any sense and always leave you confused. No one knows why he does this he doesn't even understand most popular memes, hes like an outdated dad. Yet he always finds the most nonsensical ones and thinks its the funniest thing in the world.

-While he doesn't have as many squish mallows as Annie, he still has a couple laying around in his room. He mainly gets the small ones that come in a mystery bag (micro mallows I think is their name). He keeps his favorite/favorites in his coat pocket (its a secret, but the ones he keeps on him are just the 2 that remind him of Annie and himself ( if you selfship with him/he's one of your f/os, he has one of you too ;} )

-He doesn't have as big of a hyperfixation on one interest like Annie, however he does switch a lot between interests. He fixates on something and it lasts from a day to a week, before falling into something new or something he liked before (bit of a personal experience lol). Im not the most knowledgeable on some of these things but I feel like he swaps between are stuff like undertale, sonic (he loves the sonic boom tv show), kingdom hearts, pokemon (games as well as the show (loves sonic underground)), mystery skulls (both the band and the animations (Vivi is definitely his favorite but he totally has a crush on Lewis shhhh)), and over the garden wall (also a lot of the popular shows on cartoon network).

-He and Annie have a minecraft server that they play on a lot. They have a separate one they play on that has a bunch of their other friends, but he usually plays on the one with just him and Annie. Its not like he doesn't like playing with the others, he just likes how much more relaxed and contained it is with just 2 people (well, as relaxed and contained as playing with Annie can be. She's a very chaotic mc player lol)

Annie

-There isn't a canon height for her, that I know of, but my headcanon is either 5"5-5"8. She's not insanely tall but to 5"3 me, she tall pretty lady :} In liquid form though, I'd say she gets up to like 6"9-7"0 (speaking of the liquid form, she definitely is more non-verbel like that. I see that go around on twitter and in the discord and I 100% agree with it)

-Had one of those My Chem emo phases in middle/highschool. She still listens to them just not as much. I'm not projecting what are you talking about. Her favorite albums are Three Cheers and Danger Days. Sometimes you can catch her singing and its one of the best things to watch. She's either humming to herself idly or as if shes preforming in a concert its amazing. She has a pretty voice :} (if any of you listen to them/know their songs, she absolutely KILLS it on Helena like god I want to make a cover with her voice bank SO bad)

-SPEAKING OF PHASES she definitely had a FnaF phase. I don't know how I know this, but I know she did

-Don't know why but I feel like she would play laser tag a lot. I imagine there's an arcade in the town they live in that also has a room for laser tag. Her and Garc use to go to there a lot in middle and highschool so shes hella good at it. She's pretty fast with a quick reaction time so she's got the highest score. Garc isn't that bad at it but he can't really keep up with Annie both in skill and in agility so he doesn't play often, and instead just watches and waits at the end for her.

-Sends cute cat pictures and cat memes to Garc everyday (and to you if you selfship). Though, if someones having a bad day, she'll send as many as she can to cheer the person up :}

-The amount of squish mallows this woman has. Her bed is almost entirely covered in plushies and there's still TONS on shelfs, in closets and in those little nets people use to store them in. Everytime they go out Garc will always drive to whatever near by location sells them. Hell there's some still in the car, buckled up in the backseat. She remembers all her favorites' names :}

-They always seem pretty tall on TV, but in reality they're just wearing those platform highheels, so they're actually like 4"10-5"0. We love a short queen :} (if she's your f/o they love hate when you talk about how cute they look at they're actual height ;})

-Because of their mother, they've known how to play piano since they were pretty young. She doesn't really play anymore as she never liked playing in the first place. HOWEVER they only enjoy playing a piano/keyboard is when they play the Keytar. They're really self conscious about it since their mother hated it and its usually seen as a geeky/weird thing to play, so they usually play by themselves at home late at night.

-For some reason she always smells like sugar cookies. Its not any type of lotion or perfume they use either, they somehow always weirdly smell like sugar cookies. Very confusing and misleading if you ever meet them face to face. Them insulting you while looking tall and menacing yet smelling really sweet.

-If Host and Annie were to become friends like I talked about in the other post, they would both show each other their collection of squish mallows. Host doesn't have as many as Annie, but they love their plushies just as much as her. They always buy the bigger ones as well the scented ones. Always exhausted from her show, they can't wait to go home. She loves to get in her pjs and snuggle into a pile of the biggest squishys and have a nice cup of tea.

-They also have a bit of a collection of candles. They usually get the ones that smell like cinnamon, pumpkin pie, or the lemon cookies

-Totally had a homestuck phase as a teenager and now is the "why did I ever read that, why do I still remember all that information and lore? I hate it here" but still always celebrates 413 and totally still has a troll and kidsona (Its been a good while but I see them as a Thief of Heart if anyone reading this understands homestuck). Also had a sonic phase and definitely made their own sona and ocs

("He spoke the truth as he saw it," Tigerstar says. "I'd never ask a cat to lie. If he said things, he must have meant them. But I'd be more concerned about what that makes Leopardstar, if I were you.")

yeah shadepelt is literally the only living cat other than mudfur who knows why what happened happened. why doesn't she tell anyone? mudfur would deny it, and she'd get spun as making things up to cover for him.

("Don't bother," Mudfur says. "I wouldn't agree."

"But you didn't want to," Shadepelt protests. "It's not fair."

"What's not fair," Mudfur says, "is that Leopardstar has suffered for my actions. Don't make this worse on her.")

sigh. she cares about him, even when no one else does. maybe she stays behind with him as he's dying.

anyway why, pray tell, do i bring this up? (a) because it's fun to write six narratives to one truth, and (b) because i think the most fun way to write it is for each kit to find out on their own.

hawkpaw hears it from tigerstar.

("But why can't Mothpaw be a medicine cat?"

Tigerstar stares at him, as if he has asked why fish do not swim through air. "You'd let her be alone with Mudfur?"

"Mudfur's just the medicine cat." Hawkpaw flicks his tail. Mudfur might be strange, and hard to talk to, but he wouldn't call him harmful.

Tigerstar laughs. "Let me tell you what he's done. I don't think you'll feel the same when I've finished.")

mothpaw, now a direct witness to mudfur and leopardstar's broken relationship, hears it from shadepelt.

("I'm sorry you've been running go-between for them," Shadepelt says.

Mothpaw tilts her head, unsure.

"It wasn't always like this," Shadepelt continues. "I'll tell you, but you can't tell anyone, promise?"

"Promise.")

frogpaw hears it from his mentor.

("Leopardstar's just been so -- weird. Ever since we became apprentices."

"Well," Stonefur says, "you are growing up. I suppose it's hard to watch."

"It's not that," he insists. "There's more than that."

Stonefur sighs. "I know. It's -- Mothpaw. It's hard for Leopardstar." Stonefur sits, gesturing for Frogpaw to follow. "This stays between us, alright?")

and now they're all carrying a secret. hawkpaw can't talk about it because he'd have to admit he was dreaming of the dark forest, and mothpaw and frogpaw are both sworn to secrecy. and none of them know what to think.

frogpaw and hawkpaw can't help but fear for mothpaw. they beg her to change her mind, to become a warrior, and when she refuses, frogpaw breaks.

("Please, Mothpaw," he begs. "You don't know what he's done."

Mothpaw narrows her eyes. "I'm not some kit you can boss around, Frogpaw.")

and when all the cards are on the table,

("Of course that's what he told you!" Frogpaw yells.

"He wasn't even the one who told me!" Mothpaw shouts.

Caught between them, Hawkpaw asks, "How could you -- stay as his apprentice, if you knew?"

Mothpaw blinks. "If you--" She sighs. "A lot of reasons, Hawk. Too many to explain." Becuase she can't explain, not really. She hasn't know what to say to her mentor since Shadepelt told her, but -- she can't stop the fact that she wants this as her path.)

hawkpaw and frogpaw turn on mothpaw. she should really explain her logic. there's more to it than that -- if she becomes a medicine cat, she can treat leopardstar if something happens. mudfur can't -- she doesn't think he would hurt someone else. shadepelt says he didn't sleep, didn't eat, just prayed for another way out. but if she's there -- he can't hurt someone, no matter what. she won't let him.

but that's all -- stuff she can't put words to, not yet.

they're smart enough to do this away from leopardstar, but she's a smart cat.

("Mothpaw, come eat with me," Leopardstar says. Her daughter has barely talked to her for half a moon, and--

"I'm not hungry," Mothpaw mutters. "I've gotta get some more mallow.")

and thus, the tension develops.

it breaks, i think, when frogpaw and mothpaw have another fight in camp, this one that comes to blows.

("How could you defend him?" Frogpaw says.

"I'm not -- defending him!" Mothpaw yelps, shaking him off. "You just won't listen to me!"

"I don't need to know any more!" Frogpaw says.)

mistyfoot and stonefur, likely, separate them. the converstion topic is obvious, if you know what to listen for.

("I agreed for Mothpaw to train with him," Leopardstar says, "didn't I?"

Frogpaw and Hawkpaw nod, reluctant.

"That's because I approve of her choice," she continues. She's not sure she does, frankly, but she needs them to believe she does.

"He -- hurt you," Frogpaw says.

"He did." Leopardstar takes a breath. "And if he ever hurts as much of a whisker of Mothpaw, if he ever says anything to her, I will be the one to send him to the stars."

"So we're just supposed to -- ignore it?"

Saying yes feels wrong, but it's what Leopardstar has done for nearly a year. "No. But you're not supposed to make Mothpaw feel bad for becoming who she wants to be.")

and -- i dunno. things probably would get better. mothpaw's brothers would give her another chance to explain herself.
