like, yeah, i appreciate the sentiment but sweetheart, you're writing wolfstar a/b/o with the tags "background starchaser" and "trans regulus." i wouldn't have assumed you supported a terf sweetie.

*James asked Regulus why he was upset. He gets a list of everything he hates about today*
James: Okay then.. what don’t you hate?
Regulus: I don’t hate your annoying voice. That’s about it.
James: Well aren’t you a little ray of pitch black.

Theme: Prank | @moonwater-microfic | Words: 421
"Tell me you didn't have anything to do with this." Regulus' fury was clear from way down the aisle of books where Remus was sitting comfortably. He glances up, face blank. Regulus' hair is as green as his tie.
"I had nothing to do with this," he responds plainly, setting his book aside.
"Don't fucking lie to me," Regulus grumbles, but the gentleness in his eyes gives him away.
Remus shrugs, a coy smile playing at his lips. "Pick one; I can either not lie to you, or I can tell you I had nothing to do with it... But I can't do both."
Regulus huffs, dropping down beside him.
"Or," Remus continues, turning his fingers through Regulus' hair and catching bits of silvery glitter as he does, "I can just tell you it really brings out your eyes - no, really. It suits you."
Regulus rolls his eyes, sitting back.
"How long will it last?" he asks after a moment of silence passes between them.
"Ah…"
Something about the way Remus hesitates causes Regulus to fix him with a sharp look. "How long, Lupin?"
Remus releases a short chuckle, unfazed by Regulus' persistent frustration. "Well, that depends-"
"On?"
"How soon you're kissed."
"What the-"
"It'll resolve itself in a month, or when you're kissed. Whichever comes first. They were going after Snape, originally," he adds, by means of an explanation.
Regulus' lips narrow, and he glances down the aisle of the library.
"Go on then. Let's get it over with."
"Always so romantic," Remus mumbles as Regulus turns back, eyes wrinkling in pleasant anticipation, and caresses Remus' lips with his own.
They remain like that for a moment, neither taking it further, or withdrawing. Both boys' eyes had flickered closed.
It was only as a he felt a tongue dart out to brush his lip, that Remus pulled back in surprise.
"So," Regulus begins, his cheeks an unusual shade of pink. "Am I back to normal?"
Remus holds back on the obvious retort. "Hmm…" he eyes flicker to Regulus' head. "Maybe once wasn't enough-"
He hadn't finished speaking before Regulus' lips were back on his.
This time, when they part, Regulus' hair is a standard shade of black.
He looks suspiciously at Remus, lips puffed and eyes shining under the warm glow of the library lights. There was something else there, too. Something conspiratorial. At last, Regulus understands. "The spell didn't need a kiss, did it?"
His cheeks turning a shade redder, Remus shakes his head. "No, but… I did."

I’ve seen you talk about how the Marauders fandom (and how they have made their horrifically inaccurate fanon canon in a way) and I was curious about your thoughts on their horrible mischaracterisation of Lupin. From what I’ve seen they paint him as a sarcastic bad boy who’s apparently getting hit by everything all the time or whatever constantly (gee, sounds familiar in a way. ((I believe this was spurred on by ATYD.)) Anyways, thoughts?
Each of the Marauders triggers me in a different way, and not because I was bullied in school or have a visceral reaction due to personal traumas with people like them, but because I’ve met people like them. I’ve had to put up with people like them—people who are terrible, you know it, you see them as the absolute worst, yet they have the audacity to think they’re morally superior to others simply because of their political stances.
As a student, I was very involved in unions and active in political groups, and I’ve met James Potters (wealthy, privileged kids from progressive families who thought they were "fighters for the people" but had no clue about people’s actual needs and were only there because it was what they were supposed to do), Sirius Blacks (privileged kids who thought they were special because their whole family were fascists and they had "broken the cycle," yet they still carried all the prejudices of someone raised in a conservative, right-wing environment and made zero effort to deconstruct themselves because they thought not talking to their parents was enough), and Remus Lupins.
Remus Lupins, the quiet guys, the introverted ones who seem super nice but have awful friends. They don’t seem like terrible people because they don’t proactively show their flaws, and if you compare them to the others—who are a whirlwind—they appear as though they’ve never done anything wrong.
What bothers me about how the fandom characterizes Lupin is that it has nothing to do with what we see in the books or what Rowling said about him. Lupin was someone deeply insecure and self-conscious about his condition as a werewolf. He didn’t want to draw attention to himself as a way to hide that condition. He always followed behind his friends, letting them take the lead. His relationship with James and Sirius was nothing like Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s. The latter trio did everything together; they lived their adventures together. From what we know (because it’s explicitly mentioned in the books), the ones constantly seen together were James and Sirius. It’s literally stated that where one went, the other was always there. Remus (as Rowling herself said) was the third in a duo.
In fact, I imagine Remus and Peter being closer (something most people seem to find unthinkable because they have the critical reasoning skills of an amoeba when it comes to the Marauders) precisely because James and Sirius were the duo. The idea that Remus was some kind of alpha male is absolutely ridiculous because, if there were two characters in that generation who epitomized toxic masculinity and outdated gender dynamics to the fullest, they were James and Sirius—two bullies who used their power to get what they wanted, whether it was torturing someone or dating a girl.
We see Remus avoiding conflict, not having the guts to tell his friends they were wrong even though he had the responsibility of being a prefect. As an adult, we see him justifying his friends’ actions, which are unjustifiable. Remus was a lapdog because being with James and Sirius was a way for him to protect himself, to feel safe, and contradicting them would mean jeopardizing that safety he so desperately needed. So, he let everything slide. This is canon, and it tells you his personality was fearful, passive, and accommodating.
Remus is a coward. In fact, I find him much more cowardly than Peter. He never had the guts to confront his friends, never had the guts to admit that his friends were horrible people—even as adults—and never had guts, period. The best evidence is that, at 38 years old, he got a young woman pregnant and then left because he didn’t have the courage to face the consequences of his actions. Remus is the typical nice guy who acts all chill and friendly and understanding but, when it comes down to it, behaves like a jerk. He’s a Ted Mosby type.
Any other characterization, especially one that tries to make him sassy or badass, is an insult to anyone who has read the books because they’re literally inventing a new character and slapping his name on it. But that fandom does this all the time—they do it with all the characters. It doesn’t even surprise me anymore.

there’s something to be said about the fact that janus is the most professional out of all the sides. i genuinely think that he’s the only side playing his part because it’s his job, and not because he has any personal feelings attached.
virgil showed signs of genuinely wanting to be accepted and loved by thomas and the other sides. logan definitely values thomas’s validation a lot and becomes sad when he doesn’t get that validation. remus.. might actually be the second most professional side. but since he seems to work under janus (janus sending him over to thomas and telling him what to do), i guess a lot of that professionalism comes from janus himself. remus isn’t as stupid as he seems obviously, but he doesn’t have a clear-cut agenda like janus does.
i just think it’s interesting to see a side who is only concerned with thomas’s well-being because it’s their job and they want to do a good job. even janus’s frustration at thomas not taking his advice and later his excitement about thomas acknowledging his points came off to me as someone dealing with their kinda shitty boss (no offense to c!thomas, i just imagine that’s how janus views him lol). of course, janus has some fun at his job but i mean, i would too if no one ever listened to me and i’m automatically labelled as the bad guy.
all of this is slowly beginning to change since janus seems to be getting closer to patton but i guess we’ll have to wait and see if they actually become friends or if they’re more like coworkers on friendly terms.

I’ve had it with people saying that the Marauders naming themselves ‘the Marauders’ isn’t actually canon and is just what they called the map.
Enough people assumed that they went round calling themselves that. I did before I was even involved in Fandom. I thought they called themselves that when I first read the books at 11, before I even had social media. Every single person I’ve ever seen discuss this recoils in shock, “oh my good gracious me. I never realised such a thing. What numptys we have been to assume that all these years.” (There’s no evidence to say that they didn’t call themselves ‘the marauders’ but also not enough evidence to suggest they did)
I think it’s safe to say that enough people assumed it for it to be cannon.
And if she who-must-not-be-named didn’t intend for that. It’s just bad writing.

I know they are the messiest in canon context, but wouldn't this fandom benefit itself a lot with a bit of soft and loving wolfstar so we could stop this collective idiocy. A girl can dream.

Sorry but I just cannot stop thinking about President of the United States Remus Lupin, considered one of the most popular and handsome bachelor of his time (like why and how is he still single?) Gets a little sweet surprise for his birthday.
All of the US most powerful people are reunited in the event to celebrate President's Lupin birthday. They auditorium is packed to the brim, Prime Minister and best friend of the President James Potter just finished giving a speech about Remus, but he doesn't leave the stage. Instead, he gives that wicked smile of his that only meant mischief.
"Ladies and Gentleman, it is my great honor to present someone who really wants to wish our dear President a happy birthday. For all of you, Sirius Black!"
Enter Sirius Black, one of the most famous actors of his time, a symbol of beauty and sexiness and all things carnal and desirable, covered in a big white fur coat while he delicately walks to the podium.
Everyone is holding their breaths, and most of them end out choking on their breaths when Sirius removes the coat from his body, revealing a beautiful dress that was filled with diamonds, every curve of his body was hugged just right, the definition of desire.
He carefully moves the microphone to his height, dainty fingers covered in delicate gloves, and everyone could hear how he took a small breath before smiling sultrily.
"Happy....birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy birthday, Mr. President" the song felt intimate, way too intimate, but Sirius Black didn't care, and by the enraptured gaze the President had, neither did President Lupin
"Thanks, Mr. President
For all the things you've done"
The song was rather short, it was like it finished in a blink of an eye, but you were not able to forget any moment of it either. The movements, the seductive voice, the garment that made Sirius look like he wore nothing at all.
That night was historical, and everyone knew it.
After that, there was obviously rumors of the relationship between US beloved President and US beloved icon, and if President Lupin had invited Sirius Black to his quarters in the White House after the gala, it was something History would have to question forever.

"late for dinner, late, late, late, late! whizzer's supposed to make the dinner, make the dinner, love to screw! that's what pretty boys should do! make the dinner and love me!"
what if whizzer wants you to make the dinner for once. what if whizzer's afraid of being seen as the woman in the relationship because he isn't perceived as a man, not like you are. what if whizzer only conforms to the expectations that are set on him as the "woman" of the relationship because he doesn't know how else society will accept him because of who he is. what if deep down whizzer is afraid that no one sees him as a man. what if whizzer wants to be handsome instead of pretty. what if whizzer wants to be loved like you do rather than sexualised. what if this post isn't about whizzer at all. what if. crazy thought.
that song makes me feel things i blame a specific tiktok for it that i can no longer find anyways sorry for being sad on main i am just Feeling because of exams

I keep seeing these discussions about Sirius' appearance, whether he was more masculine or feminine and I don't understand the point..
One of the things I love about this fandom is the freedom we have to do whatever we want with the characters, because no one cares what JKR has to say.
I love both versions of Sirius and there are well-written fanfics on both roles. but I put my foot down on Remus.
I fell in love with Wolfstar over a decade ago and one of the reasons was because I identified with the quiet, nerdy, and adorable Moony. So you’ll take sweet Remus out of my cold dead hands!
Also I love the diversity we're finding in the Marauders fandom recently. It's a relief to no longer be in the whiteland created by JKR. but it bothers me that this more dominant and violent Remus is happening along with the darkening of his skin

Marauders as things my friends have said pt. This time we're drunk
In the nightclub
Remus: It's so hot
Remus *hugs Sirius*:
Sirius: If you're so hot, why are you hugging me? It's not like I'm cool
Remus *touching Sirius' stomach*: You are here
Outside the nightclub
Remus, without a coat: It's so cold
Sirius, with a coat: No, it's okay
Remus: If only there was a way
Sirius, hugging Remus: Hot or cold you're always hugging me
Remus, holding him tighter:
Sirius: Your nose is cold, Remussss
