adrian chase on arrow has zero things in common with adrian chase on peacemaker. adrian chase on arrow isn't even adrian chase - his real name is simon morrison. arrow s5 is great and adrian/simon is a great villain, but if you go in expecting anyone even resembling peacemaker adrian you'll be disappointed.
i'm also sad about peacemaker s2 being pushed back, but the characters are all supposed to appear in the waller show! so hopefully we'll still get more of our beloved adrian soon <3.
I'm, like, vaguely familiar with Arrow. My mom was waaay into it, and i'd catch some episodes over dinner sometimes. I think I remember him. But, at this point, I'll take any and all versions of Adrian Chase, pick and choose random parts and use it as fanfic inspo.
As for Waller, I just know it won't be enough! I am dying of Adrian thirst, and it'll be a sip of water!
I bet he'll get maybe a quarter the screen time he had on Peacemaker? Which would be understandable! I expect the show to be more about Waller and her relationship with Leota to be the main like, emotional, focus, with w/e trouble as the backdrop. My best guess is that Waller either threatens Peacemaker to help or Leota guilt trips him into it ("that's my mom!" oh, shit! you think Leota gonna end up killing her mom like Chris had to kill his dad? 🤔 Maybe not...Waller seems pretty instrumental in pulling all the strings in everything...) And Vig probably just tags along because why not, his skills could come in handy.
I just pray that Gunn will give us some Vigilante eye candy.

Update to this prompt I posted a little while ago. Scroll to the bottom for a link to the story.
Tim gets injured while not wearing his suit one night.
Bernard, who has never met Tim before, finds him and takes him home. He ends up losing his memory and Bernard decides to let him move in while he heals, unaware that he's really Red Robin.
Bruce and the rest of the family can't find Tim anywhere.
Days turn into weeks.
Weeks turn to months.
All without a trace.
Tim and Bernard are getting used to living together, and both the pros and cons of being roommates.
Tim will sometimes have nightmares or flashbacks, but he’s also started to heal.
His family ends up torn, with Jason, Dick, and Steph convinced he’s alive, while Bruce, Cass and Damian have all resigned themselves to believing that he died.
One night, Tim and Bernard take a nighttime walk to a convenience store and witness a robbery.
Tim stops the guy on instinct and has a flashback of fighting with Nightwing. He assumes he was a criminal and runs off before the clerk can thank him.
Something the clerk mentions to Officer Dick Greyson when he arrives to arrest the thief. The clerk hands over the surveillance footage, which ends up being proof that Tim survived.
Dick is overjoyed, but Steph and Jason point out that he isn't being held hostage. He's free and yet never contacted them.
Was he in hiding?
From them?
Or for his own protection from someone?
Or maybe the civilian he was with had done something to him?
Whatever the reason, they decide against telling the rest of the family until they can figure out what's going on.
They begin following Tim, keeping their distances.
Tim, meanwhile, after ‘remembering’ being a criminal, can't stop obsessing over his scars, and who he might have hurt to receive them. He keeps thinking about the convenience store clerk and Bernard, wracked with guilt about all the things he may have done.
Bernard stays by him the whole time, doing his best to calm him down.
Tim doesn't tell him what's on his mind out of fear of being kicked out, and Bernard assumes the event was too stressful for him and doesn't push him to talk.
Eventually, the two of them fall asleep together, and Tim promises to make up for his past crimes by protecting Bernard. Things gradually go back to normal with Bernard going to work and Tim, who has no valid id, staying home and taking care of the apartment.
Nightwing, Red Hood, and Spoiler take turns watching Tim and Bernard.
They still haven't told their family, but know they can't just follow Tim forever.
Before they can decide on their next move, though, Cass bumps into him while grocery shopping. She freezes and he doesn't recognize her, but Dick, Jason, and Steph have to come clean.
Cass is pissed, Bruce wants to bring Tim home immediately, and Damian points out that he might not even want to come home, and that they should leave him be.
They decide that, before they make their decision, they need to talk to Tim. Maybe he really did just decide to quit.
Tim, meanwhile, has been using his free time while Bernard is at work to help people who need it. He becomes somewhat of a neighborhood vigilante, believing that he needs to make up for his past crimes.
Most of the injuries he incurs are minor and easy to hide from Bernard, but one day he takes a knife to the arm.
Bernard freaks out and tries to give him stitches in their kitchen, but then has to convince Tim to let him take him to a hospital.
Tim, not wanting to be arrested for crimes he doesn't remember committing, therefore leaving Bernard alone, argues that he's fine.
It doesn't hurt that bad.
He'll heal.
Bernard gets frustrated and shows off his own scars, which he had worked hard to always keep hidden. He explains what happened to him, and how his family disowned him as a result of ending up in the cult, and that he promises he won't put Tim in a situation where he could be in danger.
He asks to know why Tim is so adamant against going to the hospital and Tim reluctantly admits what he's pieced together from his flashbacks.
Bernard is shocked to find out that he might have been sharing his apartment with a criminal, but reasons that that must be why Tim knows how to fight.
Deciding to focus on the problem at hand, Bernard convinces Tim to at least let him take him to Leslie’s place, as she doesn't ask questions.
Leslie proceeds to ask questions, prompting Bernard to be the one to answer them for Tim.
Leslie comes to the conclusion that Bernard is answering so that Tim doesn't say the wrong thing, and only grows more concerned when she tries to subtly give him openings to slip her a message or some sort of sign that he needs help and he doesn't.
She decides that, since he's acting like he's never met her, she'll play along.
Once Bernard and Tim leave, she calls Bruce and tells him what happened.
Bruce decides it's time to step in because something is clearly wrong with Tim.
Tim and Bernard head back home and have a long talk about everything Tim's been hiding and what he's been up to.
Bernard wonders if Tim might be wrong about his assumption that he was a criminal, but Tim remembers stalking Batman, fighting with Nightwing, Robin trying to kill him and a few other things.
Tim was a criminal, and he's certain of it.
At a loss of what else to do, Bernard convinces Tim to get takeout for dinner, since neither have eaten yet.
Tim agrees and they walk down to Tim's favorite place.
On the way there, Batman and Nightwing show up and order them into the Batmobile.
Tim manages to fight off Nightwing as Batman is driving and Nightwing isn't expecting Tim to fight him and escapes with Bernard.
Their suspicions all appear to be confirmed; the Batfam believe Tim is being controlled by Bernard, while Bernard and Tim believe he's a wanted criminal.
Tim decides he needs to leave, since he's obviously being hunted, but Bernard refuses to let him.
Not alone, at least.
Tim wants Bernard to stay safe, which means away from him, but Bernard is just as worried about Tim's safety. They argue, but ultimately both find an abandoned building to hide in together.
They decide to take turns sleeping and Tim falls asleep wondering what sort of crime he committed to warrant the Bats searching for him. He ends up dreaming of the night he found his father's body and wakes up believing that he killed him.
Bernard has nodded off at this point and Tim needs to clear his head so he heads up to the roof to process what he dreamed about.
The bats decide that, for their safety and his, Tim will need to be taken by force and they can figure out what's wrong with him once they have him back home.
They track them to the abandoned building and break in, but only find Bernard.
Bernard ends up getting captured quickly and taken to the batcave for questioning.
Tim, who witnessed the abduction but hadn't been quick enough in getting down from the roof to do anything, decides it's time to go on the offensive against the bats.
He has had enough flashbacks to piece together that Batman is Bruce.
He's tired.
Angry.
Frustrated.
He's been living for months without knowledge of who he used to be and having to deal with random flashbacks and trying to piece together what his life before looked like.
The bats taking Bernard is his last straw.
He decides to start by breaking into the manor and looking for Bernard there.
Bernard, meanwhile, is desperately trying to convince Bruce and the others that he has no idea where Tim is, that he didn't do anything to Tim, and that Tim has amnesia.
They don't believe him until Tim shows up and goes all-out trying to attack them and escape with Bernard, but Bernard is the one who manages to calm him down and convince him to listen to his family.
It takes a while, and a lot of proof, but Tim finally regains his memory.
He and Bernard officially start dating and move back in together.
They like to joke that Bernard had the craziest introduction to the family, despite being a civilian.

Heyyy…. May i request a wife reader x dick grayson… she is mad at him and is giving him a silent treatment, but he is so done with this that he starts annoying her by saying Mrs. Grayson after every sentense and closing tightly lids
anon this is so adorable. i am going feral. also i am so severely sorry for my IA-ness.
tags — just overall fluff. some light swearing
In hindsight, you should've known that this would entail not just dating, but also marrying a vigilante. How could someone blame you, anyways? You were sitting at home, about to go to bed, when Nightwing crashed into your apartment after being chucked across the city by some villain or the other.
He had a major concussion. You didn't know how to treat thrown vigilantes who definitely had a couple of broken ribs and a torn ACL.
What you did know was how to comfort a man who was clearly in pain, who was trying to stifle his screams, because let's face it, the vigilante life should clearly not be glamorized.
He felt bad for the wreckage in your apartment. Every week, there'd be thousands of dollars at your doorstep from him, ready to pay it off. He had to be rich. There was no way he was giving your entire salary in four months and a half.
Eventually, you figured out his secret identity. And instead of being angry about it, Dick Grayson felt awfully in love with a girl who was as intelligent as he hoped she'd be. Sure she wasn't a supermodel, but she made him laugh. She made him think. She wasn't easy to get along with at times, but she made him better.
Three years later, he put a ring on it.
"I told you," you snapped, "you just keep going in stupid situations, and normally, I wouldn't mind, but it's like you refuse my help or anyone else's."
Dick knew he had a really bad hero complex. He couldn't stand anyone else getting hurt because of his issues. "I can handle it," he responded. "And isn't it just annoying that you've been mad at me for the past two days? Can't you just give it a rest?"
"I'll give it a rest when you start accepting help from others," you responded, your brows furrowing. "God, you're so—you're so—ugh!"
Dick rolled his eyes and then smirked at you, that stupid boyish smirk that made your heart tingle and everything else disappear. "I'm so what, sweetheart? What am I, Mrs. Grayson?"
You glared at him. "Dick!" You huffed, both saying his name and the insult. "That's it. I want a cooling down period. Leave me and the kitchen alone!"
He grinned, looking back at you, a mischievous glance in his eye. "Oh, I will, Mrs. Grayson. I will."
* * *
Making dinner was one of your forms of therapy. Dick was starting to go out for patrol, much to your distaste, no doubt about to pick a fight with someone who would give him considerable damage.
You didn't want him to go, you wanted to keep him here and kiss him forever, but he would leave anyways. It's my moral duty to the people of Bludhaven to keep them safe, he had said to you one night. I could never bring it to myself to disappoint these people. To make them unsafe. I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure people are as safe as can be.
And though you really disliked it, you knew that was one of the core reasons why you were so undoubtedly in love with him.
You turned around to grab the jar of pickles, still steaming from the fight, only to find that it was incredibly hard to open.
"What. The. Hell?" You hissed. You had opened it up just a day ago, and put it easily back, making sure it wasn't that hard.
Your face turned red and you looked at it again before trying to open it up, straining and groaning, only for your muscles to give out. There was only one explanation for this.
Your stupid, lovable, husband.
And after a few minutes of recollecting your pride, you stomped over to your bedroom where he was dressing. He was in the midst of putting the top half of his suit on, and your mouth turned a little dry when you saw him shirtless.
You were pretty sure that when the first time you saw him shirtless, literal heart eyes came out of your eyes. You gawked for a couple of seconds, admiring the contour of his muscles, only for him to turn around and smirk at you.
He knew what you were doing. Dammit.
"Hi, Mrs. Grayson," he teased. "Enjoying the view?"
"Shut up," you snapped, and held out the jar. "Open this up right now and stop screwing with my jars."
He smirked at you. "What's the magic word?"
"The magic word is 'I will beat you up if you don't open the jar up right now'," you responded, glaring at him. "Now. Open."
He laughed, tossing his head back, his voice echoing off the room before taking the jar. You watched intently as his triceps flexed when he opened the jar up with ease and returned it back.
"Thank you," you said, your voice having an edge to it. You were about to turn around before he grabbed you by the arm.
"What, no good luck kiss?" Dick asked huskily in your ear. It sent shivers down your spine.
"Even if I give you one, you'll still end up badly injured."
"C'mon," he murmured, planting a light kiss on your neck, his hands dancing on your waist. He squeezed your sides slightly. "I always fight better when my girl kisses me."
You looked up at him and snorted. "In your dreams," you responded, but he took this moment to crash his lips against you. You felt dizzy and couldn't help but to wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him closer.
When the both of you stopped, he laughed, looking at you breathless, his blue eyes twinkling in the night sky.
"Knew you couldn't be mad at me for that long, Mrs. Grayson."
"Shut up," you grumbled, punching his shoulder lightly. "Go save Bludhaven, Boy Wonder."
He stepped out the window and then turned back at him, smirking. "You know I am, sweetheart. And when I come back, I'm gonna finish what I started."

now i'm no longer alone
jason todd x reader / fluff
tw: mentions of blood and a knife
“What the fuck.”
You try to swallow the lump that’s appeared in your throat. You know you must look stupid with your open-mouth stare, but you couldn’t help it. Really…
“What the fuck,” you repeat, scanning the figure in front of you. In the dingy hallway of your apartment complex, stands an out of place person. Red helmet scratched up, black tactical suit torn, and the most startling of all, the amount of blood pouring out from behind a hand.
“Hey, I don’t mean to rush this… but do you mind like—” the figure jerks his head and all you can do float aside to allow him to hobble through. You bite your lip and peek into the hallway. All that stares back at you is flickering LED lights and dingy wallpaper.
Letting out a shaky breath, you stare at the blood spots left on the floor as the door closes, latching it as quietly as possible. You turn the lock.
The injured vigilante you let in has made their way to your couch, draping themselves across it with legs falling off the sides. It’s silent, air tense, waiting for the other shoe to drop. You open your mouth, ready to start complaining when glistening liquid catches you eye. Clicking your tongue, you go to retrieve the first aid kit from the bathroom.
Flipping on the switch, you squint to adjust to the sudden brightness. You stare at yourself in the mirror. Mussed up hair from sleep, wrinkled pajamas, and a deep frown. You take in a deep breath to collect yourself. Right. Now’s not the time to be distracted by anything other than the problem bleeding out on your couch.
You rummage in the cabinet underneath the sink for a couple minutes, noises too loud for whatever fucking time it is. Behind a stack of toilet paper is where the med-kit is hiding, so it's quickly snatched up and you hurry back to the living room. The idiot is still in the same position, sans the red helmet, which has been tossed aside on the floor.
You shake your head and sigh. “You actually have to take off your suit for me to do anything.”
Blue-greenish eyes swipe to look over at you. They look distinctly glassy and out of focus. Concussion?
“You tryin’ to get me in bed already? At least take me to dinner first,” the mighty Red Hood responds, trying to smile but winces and carefully remains still. You bite your lip.
“Think you can move, or am I gonna have to cut the suit?” you ask, settling on the small sliver of couch left for you, pressing against his thighs. Opening the med-kit, everything gets set out in preparation.
There’s a groan and instantly you zone in on Jason’s face, twisted in pain.
“Just take it off. Trying to replace this shit is too annoying,” he grunts, slowly sitting up. You watch him closely, taking in every small twitch and tense muscles. Gently, hands are placed around his waist, slowly peeling back the top half of his suit. Jason’s been through this a lot. Too much, you think sourly. He forcibly relaxes and doesn’t move when his shirt finally pulls away from his wound. It takes several minutes, going slow and checking over everything, before his top is finally off of him and tossed on the floor somewhere.
His chest is littered with bruises and small scratches, but none of it compares to the gaping knife wound spanning from his ribs to waist. You’re not going to lie, the amount of blood along with how deep the wound is disgusting—you don’t want to know what muscle you’re seeing behind his peeled back skin—but you hold your breath.
Neither of you say anything. You’re focused on cleaning, disinfecting, and wincing as you feel and hear loose skin squish against the needle held in bloody hands. You only fully relax when everything is safely bandaged behind white gauze. Eyes dart up to Jason’s face, becoming slightly startled and embarrassed when you find him already looking at you. Maintaining eye-contact, you reach a hand up to his face, gently brushing over his cheek.
“Anything else I need to know?” you ask quietly, afraid to break whatever comfortable silence the two of you have. Jason takes in a deep breath and shakes his head, leaning into your hand. You don’t want to disturb him. He finally looks somewhat peaceful and not in too much pain after the many pills you shoved at him to take. “I’m going to get a washcloth and some clothes, okay? Don’t move.”
Jason flinches and wide eyes meet yours. “I was, uh, I wasn’t planning on staying,” he says, obviously confused. You stare into his eyes. He only stares back.
You quirk an eyebrow. “Do you honestly think I’m letting you leave this apartment in this state?”
“I’ve had worse, nothin’ to worry about your pretty head about, doll,” he grunts. He’s in the process of sitting up, but doesn’t get too far before a hand is pushing him back down.
“That doesn’t exactly make me feel better,” you dryly respond, “Now, you’re going to sit here and wait for me to come back, okay?”
There must be something showing in your expression because Jason takes a moment before relenting with a sigh. “Hurry it up then, I’m tired and want to sleep.”
You scoff. Honestly, the audacity of this man is astounding. You quickly gather clean clothes for him, random stuff he’s left here from past visits. Armed with a bowl of water and a washcloth, you’re ready to tackle the problem of wiping him down. By the time you make it back to the couch, Jason’s already discarded his pants and shoes. He smiles widely as soon as he sees you, wiggling his eyebrows. The washcloth you were holding is now hitting him in the face.
“Wha—Hey!” Jason pouts, “What was that for?”
The bowl of water is set down on the table, a little splashing over the sides. You look up to him. “You woke me up at an ungodly hour, bleeding out, made me fix you, and then expected me to wipe you down myself? Are you kidding me, Jason?”
You’re actually a little upset. It’s not that you haven’t seen him covered in blood before, but usually it’s not his blood he’s covered in. You knew what you were signing up for when you got together, but it doesn’t make it any less terrifying. A warmth wraps around your clenched fist and squeezes. You focus back into the present.
Jason’s looking at you with furrowed brows and a frown. You look down at your hands before you’re suddenly exhausted. Stumbling, you sit down next to Jason and deflate into his side.
“I–I’m sorry. Just…” you close your eyes and take a moment to collect yourself. “It’s just scary. Seeing you like that.”
Your chin is gently clasped and turned to look over to your lover sitting next to you. A thumb brushes against your cheek. “No, doll, I’m sorry. I know it’s a lot to ask of you,” Jason whispers, regret filling every word.
Shaking your head, you cover his hand with yours to keep him from pulling away. “Don’t. I would rather you come to me like this than I not knowing, with you in some dirty alley or safe house,” you reply and press a gentle kiss to his palm. “I just don’t like seeing you hurt.”
The exhaustion has finally caught up to you, dragging you down. You didn't really want to leave him alone, but a large yawn seizes you. Giving him another once, you deem it okay to leave him by himself.
“I’m gonna go to bed. Join me when you're clean,” you lean forwards and press a gentle kiss to his lips before silently making your way back into the bedroom. Too much has happened too early in the morning. Collapsing onto the bed, you take in a deep breath. You won’t go to bed without him, but your eyelids are heavy and begging for you to close them, so you do.
The next thing you know, the bed is dipping next to you while the blankets slowly cover you up. Not opening your eyes at all, you blindly reach out your left hand and wave it in the air until it makes purchase on something. A hand catches yours. Even with your eyes closed, you can basically feel the guilt he has for worrying you rolling off in waves. Gripping his hand tightly, you drag him down and press your body to his, keeping him in place. You're not chancing him leaving as soon as you fall asleep.
Your head rests on his chest, the gentle thump of his heart and rhythmic breathing is quickly lulling you back to sleep. In your last moments of consciousness, you feel his arm wrap around your back and a pressure on the crown of your head.
“G’night, doll,” he whispers. With him safely wrapped around you in the comfort of your home together, sleep is quick to find you.

watching daredevil s3 and i found it odd in the flashback scene that karen, who had an experience with addiction in the past, couldn't approach matt's vigilantism with a bit more empathy. idk it just feels kinda out of character they made her react that way, saying "you certainly sound like an addict' with a judgemental tone. they really made karen and foggy hit the audience over the head with their treatment of matt like an addict and it just feels icky.
especially when compared to how karen reacts to anything frank does with softness and compassion even when frank repeatedly pushes her away like matt does, isn't that a bit unfair?
Get ready for another long post folks
I understand what you're saying here, and honestly I think you're right in some ways. I think it goes back to what I was saying earlier about Karen being flawed. She's not perfect. Like Matt, she can be a hypocrite at times. She can also lash out in anger and judgement. That's just a very human thing—and also, something that Matt does consistently through the series. They're all people, they're all flawed, they're all blind (no pun intended) to their own hypocrisies and faults.
Also, and this is just my personal opinion, but I think she's also reacting that way because she's an addict. She has experience with what it's like; she knows how damaging and difficult it can be. And with Karen, when she finds out that Matt's Daredevil, she's already poised to see it as a bad thing. He gets beaten to shit on the daily, has countless near-death experiences, and literally puts his personal life on hold and lets everything fall apart in service of his alter ego. Which, to be clear, is definitely something that Matt needs to do—he has to be Daredevil. He can't hear the things he hears and not suit up. So it makes sense that he has to sacrifice so much of his personal life.
But at the time that Karen finds out about Matt being Daredevil, Matt has not yet learned how to balance his work and personal life. They even make a joke about that at the end of season 3. (Karen: "You're going to move back into Matt Murdock's apartment?" Matt: "Yeah, yeah. I just figured he has a healthier life-work balance.") At the time Karen learns the truth, DD has taken over Matt's life and screwed everything up. Not to mention everything that happened with Elektra and the terrible position that put Karen in. He literally had an emotional affair with her, and Karen sees her in his bed and never gets an explanation. For all she knows, Matt fully cheated on her while in his DD persona.
And then there's the fact that Matt literally told Karen "I don't need him to be a part of me anymore. And I don't want him to be." Matt himself, at the time of The Defenders, is trying to let go of Daredevil. We as the audience know that it's a terrible idea, but Matt mistakenly believes that giving up DD will fix his life. The way The Defenders is written, it seems as though Matt has asked for Karen and Foggy's help in giving up DD. So of course they're both frustrated when Matt takes up the suit again; not because they think it's bad, but because Matt himself has framed DD as an addiction and has told them he wants to give it up. They're frustrated at Matt for his flip flopping, his "relapsing" if you will. Sure, they should be more compassionate. That's absolutely true. But Karen and Foggy are only human; and after seeing the way that DD has torn Matt's life to shreds (and their lives too!), it makes sense that they're frustrated with him.
The other thing is, the show itself is absolutely framing the DD persona as an addiction, from the very beginning of season 1. By the end of season 3 (and probably in the scrapped seasons 4 and 5, we'll see what Born Again will do) Matt has learned to balance the lawyer and the vigilante; his violence becomes something he can control. He's learned to walk that tightrope. However, at the very beginning of the show, it's clear that Matt's violence controls him. In that first monologue in the confessional, when Matt talks about "letting the Devil out," he's talking about the addictive power of violence. You also see it in episode 2 when he's torturing that Russian and he says "It's not just the boy. I'm doing this because I enjoy it."
All of this really comes to a head in season 2; Frank Castle points it out. He says "I think you and me are the same" and he says "You're one bad day away from being me." Because one of the core struggles of Daredevil, both as a show and as a character, is between the use of violence to prevent harm, and the use of violence as vengeance/emotional release. And despite Matt's moral grandstanding, he consistently veers into the latter. He never crosses the line into murder, but his violence is Matt's way of releasing the anger inside him—of "letting the Devil out." And that, frankly, is addictive for him. It's why it is so difficult for him to refrain from killing Fisk at the end of season 3. The emotional release of extreme violence, especially under ethically and morally justifiable circumstances, is very difficult for him to resist. It's in that last episode of season 3 that he really overcomes this, and realizes he can control the Devil inside him, rather than the other way around.
All this is to say, the show frames Matt's violence/DD persona as an addiction, and his arc is focused on overcoming this and finding a balance. So for Karen, who has a canon background of addiction, it makes sense that she reacts the way she does. She has little patience for him because a) she's human and flawed, and b) she knows what addiction did to her and her family, and she's scared what it will do for Matt (and Foggy and herself), and it causes her to lash out at him.
As for your point about the way she treats Frank Castle, I think it comes down to the fact that Frank is usually honest with her. Karen very vocally disapproves of what Frank does and all his methods, but she knows that he's honest with her, so she can meet him where he's at and they can go from there. Matt, meanwhile, has spent their whole relationship being deceptive and hiding things constantly (and yes, obviously he had good reasons for that, but it doesn't change the fact that it's very shitty for Karen to have to deal with). Frank doesn't have the same problem with work/life balance; he doesn't have two different identities. He doesn't hide and he doesn't lie in the same ways that Matt does. So I think it's fair for Karen to be mad at Matt for a while. After everything that went down—after Matt spent their entire relationship lying, tanked the law firm, destroyed his own life, and not to mention the whole Elektra debacle, all of this while they were dating—no wonder Karen's upset. She'd have to be a literal saint not to be!
There's also a lot to be said about Matt/Elektra and Karen/Frank being parallels to each other in the way that those relationships play out, but that's a topic for another day.
Anyway, I don't know how I've become the Karen Page Defense blog, but I'm not complaining lol.

of all the things you were expecting to happen to you on a typical sunday night, the sudden appearance of a masked vigilante at your balcony was most certainly not one of them.
alright, rewind a bit. a CRASH jolts you awake in the middle of the night—though really it's morning, according to the glowing red digits on your alarm clock that read 3:49 AM—and you nearly fall out of your bed because that was loud, what the hell?
nerves running high and any remnants of sleep completely shaken out of your body, you get out of bed and slowly open your bedroom door only to be met with a blast of frigid night air. you blink a few times, just to make sure you're not seeing things.
"what the fuck," you say out loud.
your balcony door is gone.
no, wait—it's broken. shards of glass are everywhere, and there's a giant gaping hole where the sliding door used to be. and lying crumpled in a heap on the floor in front of it…
you fumble for the light switch, something you probably should've done as soon as you opened the door. the sight that greets you when the light turns on makes you wonder if you're still dreaming, because this can't actually be happening.
there is a superhero on your balcony.
and she's bleeding all over your carpet.
"oh my god—" you hurriedly rush over to get a better look. red-and-blue spandex that's torn in several places, a trail of spiderwebs clinging to her wrists, a large spider symbol printed on the front and back of her suit… it's spider-woman. spider-woman just crashed through your balcony door.
and she's bleeding. on your carpet.
"okay," you mumble, trying to think. at least the fresh night air coming from the massive hole in your balcony door does well to invigorate you. "okay, okay, i need to do something… oh god, my landlord is gonna be so pissed at me—"
the body on the floor lets out a weak groan, and you quickly kneel down next to her. "hello? are—are you okay?"
with great difficulty, the girl struggles to lift up her head. her mask obscures the entirety of her face, so you have a hard time telling whether or not she's fully conscious.
"…ow," she croaks out at last, and then her head falls back to the floor with a thunk. seconds later, her chest begins to slowly rise and fall. a soft snoring sound emits from her mask.
you take a deep breath. okay. you can deal with this.
Tumblr media
so here you are almost three hours later, nursing a cup of much-needed coffee as you stare contemplatively at the now-bandaged but still-snoring superhero laid out on the couch in front of you. you had done your best to clean and treat her wounds with your limited medical knowledge (and the suspiciously well-stocked first aid kit that your weird roommate handong keeps in the cupboard), so now you're just waiting for her to wake up. which is taking way too long.
the clock on the coffee table reads 6:15 AM, and you glumly swish around the cold dregs of your morning coffee. it's almost time for you to leave for your 6:30 chemistry class, but it looks like spider-woman is still completely out of it.
after pacing around the kitchen of your tiny apartment for five more minutes, you impulsively grab a post-it note and scribble down a message for spider-woman to see when she wakes up. thankfully your roommate is literally never home, so there's no chance of anyone coming in here and discovering the superhero conked out on your couch.
you sign your name at the bottom of the note and stick it to spider-woman's forehead, hoping she'll be alright. as for your balcony door… thinking about how much it's going to cost to install a new one gives you a headache, so you just stick a large sheet of cardboard over the opening and resolve to take care of it as soon as you get home.
"this has been a very, very weird morning," you say out loud, because nothing about this feels real.
(then again, the tedious hours you spent cleaning up bits of glass from the floor and picking the webs off of spider-woman's suit definitely felt pretty real.)
you throw one last glance at the sleeping heap on your couch before you leave, only hoping that your life will get back to normal after today.
Tumblr media
yoohyeon wakes up disoriented, aching all over, and with the horrifying realization that she has most definitely slept past all five of her monday morning alarms.
she blinks sleepily, slowly processing her surroundings. she's lying on a couch, someone has bandaged her wounds and swaddled her in blankets, yubin probably, she's an angel and the best guy in the chair yoohyeon could ever ask for and… whoa, wait a minute.
this isn't her apartment.
with that horrifying realization, yoohyeon sits straight up and whips her head around in a panic. her surroundings are entirely unfamiliar, and she's about to call yubin before remembering that yubin is unreachable right now—away on some sort of top-secret mission that's supposed to last, like, three months. yoohyeon groans. why am i actually the worst superhero ever?
then she realizes that there's something stuck to her forehead and reaches up to find a neon green sticky note with some writing on it, which she slowly reads through with a good deal of trepidation.
hey, you crashed into my apartment last night—you were unconscious but i didn't see your face, don't worry! i fixed up your injuries as best i could but now i need to leave for class, so i hope you'll be okay when you wake up. just remember to put the cardboard back over the balcony door so birds won't fly in or anything :)
phew. so yoohyeon's secret identity hasn't been leaked, that's a relief… but she essentially broke into an innocent civilian's apartment, which she doesn't exactly feel great about. i need to make this right.
"oh, wait—" yoohyeon realizes something and jumps to her feet, the blankets falling around her. "shit, i'm late for class!"
Tumblr media
you're dutifully taking notes as the professor drones on about chemical equations, though you're struggling to stay focused—seriously, who decided that 6:30am classes on a monday was a good idea?—when suddenly the doors to the lecture hall burst open and a girl runs in, flushed and panting heavily.
"i am so sorry," she wheezes, bracing her hands on her knees to catch her breath. "i overslept…"
the professor sighs and waves off her apology. "don't let it happen again," he says sternly, then continues his lecture.
you cast the girl a curious glance as she shuffles shamefully to an empty seat and starts unpacking her things. she's tall and lanky, with long two-toned hair tied in a haphazard ponytail and glasses that she has to push back up when they start to slip down her face. you make eye contact for a brief moment, then you resume paying attention to the professor without giving the encounter too much thought.
after classes end, you go back to your apartment to find the place superhero-less. the blankets are folded messily on the couch and there's a small tear in the cardboard that's covering the opening in your balcony, as if someone was in a hurry to leave.
you shrug off your bags with a sigh and go to dial up your landlord.
Tumblr media
almost a week passes without further incident. you get your balcony door replaced so it's like nothing ever happened, and your life is just starting to get back into the usual swing of things when spider-woman shows up at your balcony again.
a thump is what wakes you up prematurely this time—it's literally 5am which is way too early for a saturday morning of all days—and you groggily stumble out of your bedroom, fearing the worst. you know it can't be a burglar since you live on the seventh floor, so there's only one person it could be…
luckily, the glass door is fully intact when you pull back the curtains to check. however, there is currently a superhero lying curled in a ball on your balcony. a very familiar superhero wearing a red-and-blue suit with a spider symbol on it.
"oh… oh, no," groans spider-woman when she hears you slide open the door. she weakly tries to drag herself to her feet, but she slumps back to the ground and you notice, with concern, the bleeding scratches all over her body. "oh man, i did it again… i'm so sorry, i'm gonna leave, just… wow you're so pretty… sorry, i should really leave—"
"no, it's okay!" you rush to reassure her, kneeling down next to her and offering your hand. "you can't go back out there like that, let me help you."
she winces, though whether it's from pain or embarrassment you can't tell. "i am so sorry," she repeats, and something about her voice seems oddly familiar, but you're too preoccupied with getting her inside to dwell on that.
the superhero keeps rambling as you half-drag, half-carry her to the couch. "i didn't mean to come here again, it's just i usually go to my friend's place when i'm injured but she's away and i got lost and mistook your apartment for mine the last time and i'm really sorry about breaking your door, it was just so dark and i had a really long day and i wasn't thinking straight and i probably gave you so much trouble—ow!"
"sorry!" you flinch and let go of her. "is your arm okay? what happened?"
"i… um." spider-woman chuckles nervously. "i kind of swung into a building? i didn't break any windows or anything! i might've broken my arm though."
you can't help but laugh, finding her awkward manner strangely endearing. "let me take a look, it might be dislocated or something."
it turns out it's just bruised, so you get her some ice and busy yourself fixing up her injuries. she repeatedly tries to convince you that she can do it herself in between a steady stream of more apologies, but she looks like she's one step away from passing out, so you insist on helping her.
"how'd you get all these cuts and scratches, anyway?" you ask, opening the bottle of antiseptic and setting out some gauze. "if you don't mind me asking, that is."
"no, it's fine! um…" spider-woman tilts her head, as if trying to remember. "the ones on my ribs are from some muggers with knives, kids really but there were four of them and only one of me so yeah… and the ones on my arms are from the black cat, you know, my nemesis? she was robbing a jewelry store and i managed to stop her but she still escaped and also got me a few times with her claws… oh, and there's this cut on my forehead that i got when i accidentally tripped and hit my head on a wall corner a few hours ago… but i can fix that on my own! you know, cause i'd have to take the mask off for that, and like, i can't reveal my secret identity 'cause dami—that's my guy in the chair—dami would kill me, haha…"
by the time she's done talking, you've finished cleaning and wrapping all of her wounds. there's just the cut on her forehead that's left, which is still bleeding despite her flippant assurances that it doesn't even hurt.
"that looks pretty bad," you note, kneeling down beside the couch and leaning in closer to inspect it. you gently press a paper towel to the bleeding area, using your other hand to brush a stray drop of blood from her cheek. "are you able to swing like that?"
there's a beat of silence. you realize that spider-woman has gone perfectly still, and also that your faces are extremely close together.
"sorry—" you shift away apologetically, worried that you made her uncomfortable. "you probably don't like it when people touch your suit."
"it's okay!" spider-woman's voice comes out as a strangled squawk, and she quickly coughs to clear her throat. "um. i was just. surprised."
"oh… well then." you stand up and glance awkwardly around your apartment, at a loss for what to do next. "so uh… how are you feeling?"
she springs up from the couch, startling you. "a lot better, thank you so much! i've caused you way too much trouble so… i should probably get going now, huh."
"are you okay to swing with your injuries and all?" you ask as she half-walks, half-slides to the balcony in this self-consciously exaggerated way. "they looked really painful when you arrived here."
"this is nothing," she responds with a casual wave of her hand, hoisting herself up onto the balcony railing in a quick graceful movement. "i heal pretty fast, so they barely even hurt anymore."
"that's good, then." you lean against the doorframe, somewhat saddened to see her go. strangely enough, you've actually been enjoying her company despite the fact that she quite literally crashed into your apartment and woke you up in the middle of the night.
spider-woman clears her throat. "uhh—maybe i'll see you around sometime," she says, a hopeful lilt to her voice.
the sun is starting to rise, peeking over the tops of the city skyline and bathing your apartment in soft golden light. spider-woman tilts her head at you, and you're almost completely certain that she's smiling under her mask.
"yeah," you respond, smiling back and raising a hand to shade your face from the sun. "i'll see you around sometime, superhero."
spider-woman gives you a jaunty little two-fingered salute, and then she's launching herself backwards off the railing with a carefree whoop. she disappears from your view for a few heart-stopping moments, but then a web shoots up and she's swinging away in between the skyscrapers until she's out of sight.
Tumblr media
the next day, you open the curtains to find a small bouquet of red and blue flowers sitting on your balcony. they look wind-blown and slightly frayed, and the thought of a certain superhero swinging through the city with the little pot tucked carefully under her arm makes you grin despite yourself.
you get the feeling you won't be seeing the last of her any time soon.
Tumblr media
"um, is it okay if i sit here?"
you glance up from the chemical equations on your laptop screen, meeting the eyes of a tall girl who's fidgeting nervously with the ends of her long hair. vaguely, you recognize her as that clumsy student who ran into class late last week.
"oh, sure," you say after a confused beat, shifting over slightly to make more room for her. something about her voice rings a bell, but you're not sure why it sounds so familiar. i've probably just heard her talking to her friends before, you rationalize.
"thanks!" she sits down and starts taking out her stuff, smiling hesitantly at you. "i'm kim yoohyeon, it's nice to meet you."
she has a pretty smile, you note while you introduce yourself. "it's nice to meet you too."
yoohyeon seems shy around you and doesn't talk much, but there's something captivating about her that you can't quite figure out exactly. she pays close attention to the professor during the lecture, though occasionally you'll look over to catch her stealing glances at you—she always blushes and quickly looks away, piquing your curiosity. hmmm.
after an extremely long and boring hour, the class is over and everyone starts packing up and filtering out of the lecture hall. you're packing up as well when your arm brushes against yoohyeon's by accident, and her cheeks flush bright red as she stares at you wide-eyed.
"i—" yoohyeon clears her throat. "bye!" she squeaks, and then she's shooting out the doors before you can even open your mouth to reply.
huh, how strange.
Tumblr media
you're studying at your kitchen table one afternoon, curtains open to let some sun into your apartment, when you hear a tap-tap-tap on your balcony door and look up to see spider-woman crouched outside.
"i hope this isn't creepy," she rushes to say as soon as you slide open the door. "i was just, er, in the area and i thought i'd swing by and say hello… um, i brought you a croissant! as thanks for, y'know, everything."
"wow, thank you," you say in surprise, taking the paper bakery bag that she's hopefully holding out to you. the chocolate croissant inside is a little flattened, but you're warmed by the gesture regardless.
"no problem!" spider-woman jumps back up onto the balcony railing, sitting and swinging her legs like a little kid. "so, uh, yeah. just wanted to do that. i hope it wasn't weird. was it weird?"
you can't help but laugh. "you're cute," you say sincerely, the words slipping out against your will—flustered, you quickly change the subject before she can notice. "um, i'm not really busy right now so… you can come in and hang out for a bit, if you want."
"really?" she tentatively slides off the railing and trots inside after you like a lost puppy. "i feel bad for intruding—ooh, were you doing homework?"
"yeah, just studying for a test," you respond, sitting down and gesturing for her to pull out a chair as well. "do you know anything about chemistry?"
"i love it!" she exclaims, perking up and scooting closer to get a better look at your notes. "i first made my web fluid in my high school chemistry lab actually, it was… well, it was a learning experience. what are you studying?"
"acid-base reactions, most of it went over my head when my professor was lecturing about it…"
before you know it, two hours have gone by in a flash. spider-woman just has this bright and likable aura around her, and as she chatters about chemistry with infectious enthusiasm and tells you funny stories about her experiences as the city's resident superhero, you find that you already feel even more at ease with her than you are with your own roommate.
"we should do this again soon," you tell her when she has to leave, standing on your balcony surrounded by the bustling sounds of the city. "and be careful, alright? don't go swinging into any more buildings."
"i promise!" she assures you with a laugh, giving you a cheerful wave before she jumps from your balcony and swings off.
Tumblr media
after that, spider-woman starts swinging by to see you a lot more often. you can tell she still feels guilty about accidentally breaking into your apartment, because she always comes with gifts of flowers or random pastries from the bakery down the street.
"you really don't need to go to all this trouble for me," you tell her, amused, when she presents you with an entire cake.
"it's no trouble at all!" she insists cheerfully, then gasps. "unless you don't like it. do you not like it?"
"no! i really appreciate it, i promise. it's just, you don't have to get me stuff if you don't want to."
"i want to!"
it's after a few weeks of the dorky superhero swinging by your apartment that you begin to realize you might be developing a bit of a crush on her. which is ridiculous, really, considering you have no idea what she looks like under the mask and you don't know her real name either. you don't know anything about her.
but you do know her, in a way. you know that she likes to pretend she's this cool badass superhero when in reality she's just a science nerd who gets excited about mixing chemicals. you know that she loves rescuing kittens from trees even though she's scared of cats, just because it's worth it to see the relief on its owner's face. you know that she sometimes swings by elementary schools during recess because a wave or a thumbs-up from spider-woman always makes the kids' entire day. you know that she's smart, she's kind, she's clumsy, she loves helping people more than anything.
you know her well enough for your heart to flutter every time you hear her tap on your balcony door, no matter the time or reason. she usually comes by during the day now, just to bring you gifts and hang out, but every once in a while she'll still crash on your balcony in the middle of the night with injuries from fighting crime.
this is one of those nights, apparently. a forceful knock on your front door is what wakes you up at 11pm one sunday night, and you groan as you're violently dragged out of your peaceful sleep.
"coming," you mumble half to yourself, throwing a random hoodie over your pajamas and hauling yourself to the door. "i have class tomorrow, who even—"
it's spider-woman, leaning heavily against the doorframe. "hi," she croaks. the knocking must have tired her out, because she topples into your arms as soon as you open the door.
"what…" you blink groggily for a few seconds, slowly processing the girl draped all over you. your half-asleep brain notes that she's very warm. it's like a nice blanket.
then you realize that your apartment door is still wide open, and the city's most famous superhero is just standing right there in the hall where anyone could see. "what are you doing here?" you yelp, pulling her inside and hurrying to close the door. "you're in your suit and everything! did anyone see you come up?"
"dunno," she mumbles, tucking her face into the crook of your neck. "i hit my head really hard. didn't think swinging was a good idea…"
you maneuver the superhero onto your couch, and she whines when you pull away to go get the medical kit. "hurts."
"looks like there isn't any bleeding," you say, kneeling down next to the couch and examining her head. "do you think it might be a concussion?"
"probably," she rasps, squishing herself further into the couch and looking like a burrito with the blanket you put over her. "should heal in a few hours."
you furrow your brow, still not used to what she calls her spidey-healing. "okay, get some sleep. you can stay here as long as you want, alright?"
"gotta wake up early," she says drowsily. "chemistry lab tomorrow…"
you blink. you… also have a chemistry lab tomorrow. "is that so?"
"yeah." you think her eyes are closed behind her mask, but then she shifts her head slightly and giggles softly to herself. "you're sooo pretty… i was so scared to talk to you in class."
wait, what?
spider-woman keeps rambling as she drifts off to sleep. "wanted to ask you out… but i was too shy without the mask. ran away, so embarrassing…"
wait, what?
"you're really cool," she mumbles. "and nice… and pretty… i like you a lot… want to take care of you like… like you take care of me…"
a pause. "you should go out with me," she says, then falls silent. tiny snores start coming out of her mask.
you slowly stand up, head spinning with all these new revelations.
huh.
you decide to go back to sleep.
it's around three in the morning when you wake up again to the sounds of someone shuffling around in the living room. you reluctantly slide out of your nice warm bed, slipping a hoodie on and heading out of your bedroom to find the source of the commotion.
"sorry, did i wake you?" spider-woman hovers uncertainly by the open door, dressed in civilian clothes—a hoodie and sweatpants—though she still has her spider-woman mask on, which looks so ridiculous that you have to smile at the sight.
"yeah… you're leaving already?" you ask, rubbing your eyes and yawning.
"yep," she says, awkwardly shifting her bundled-up superhero suit from hand to hand. "um. you should go back to bed, i know you have an early class tomorrow…" and so do i, she thinks to herself ruefully.
"let me see you off first," you insist through another yawn, covering your mouth with one oversized hoodie sleeve. "be careful on your way down, okay?"
"i will," she mumbles shyly. you can't see it, but she's blushing so hard at the gentleness in your voice and the soft way you're looking at her that she's scared her mask might burn right off her face. i've got to leave before i do anything stupid, she thinks, embarrassed. why is she so nice… and pretty…
the superhero is halfway down the hall when you remember all of last night's events and suddenly get an idea.
"yoohyeon," you call out, leaning against your doorframe.
she stops and turns around. "yeah?"
a pause.
you see the exact moment she realizes. "i—oh fuck—i mean, um—" she flounders, wildly looking around and laughing nervously. "wh-who's yoohyeon? i'm just your friendly neighbourhood spider-kim—i mean—"
you smile teasingly. "next time you ask me on a date, do it when you're not suffering from a concussion."
you don't know what her facial expression is like under her mask, but spider-woman—yoohyeon—looks like she's about to pass out, if the way she's clutching her suit in a death grip is any indication.
your smile softens. "i like you too, just so you know. a lot." you step back inside your apartment, but then you poke your head out again (yoohyeon is still standing there, frozen in shock) and add, "come back and ask me again tomorrow, okay? properly."
you close the door and take a deep breath. you feel as if your heart had stopped beating momentarily, but now it resumes racing excitedly in your chest.
hopefully i didn't just make a huge mistake.
meanwhile, yoohyeon is practically having heart palpitations outside. she spends a while just gaping like a fish at your closed door, but then she comes to her senses and practically breaks her neck sprinting to the elevator.
oh god, i need to look nice tomorrow!
Tumblr media
the next morning, you're sitting at the kitchen table doing some studying before class when you hear the distinct noise of feet landing lightly on your balcony outside. there's the sounds of someone pacing for a while. then a light knock sounds on the glass door, making you turn around.
it's yoohyeon. not spider-woman, but kim yoohyeon from your 6:30am chemistry class. she's wearing jeans and a turtleneck sweater, her long hair falling in soft waves past her shoulders and her dark brown eyes bravely staring into yours. in her hands is a small bouquet of red-and-blue flowers.
"did you swing up here?" you ask incredulously, tearing your eyes away from her and looking around. the sun is starting to rise, painting the sky in a soft rosy hue that matches the blush on yoohyeon's face. "did—"
"wait—please don't say anything," she interrupts, eyes squeezed shut. "before i chicken out."
she takes a deep breath and opens her eyes, meeting your gaze. "hi, i'm kim yoohyeon. um, i'm also spider-woman, and i… i'd really like to take you out on a date sometime."
she smiles hopefully at you. you step closer to her, taking the bouquet from her hands and leaning up to press a kiss to her cheek. yoohyeon's blush intensifies, and your heart soars.
"it's nice to meet you, kim yoohyeon," you tell her, matching her smile. "and i'd love to go out with you."

So, Across the Spiderverse has had me in a chokehold since I watched it. Could you imagine a Yuu in the House Mouse au who is not exactly powerless, but her abilities are not magic-based? Welcome to the crossover that nobody asked for, and I'm gonna pretend that secret identities don't exist for a moment and that disrupting canon events from astv don't exist.
Spider!Yuu's spidey senses can tell when danger is afoot. Whenever she's on the clock, there's fewer accidents and just swings by before Goofy trips and tosses all the dishes. She can tell when either Pete or Mortimer are here.The staff can rely on her for cleaning the high ass ceilings because she can climb up walls with no problem. And her webs make the best Halloween decor.
Von Drake and Jumba being so fascinated with Yuu's anatomy and intelligence. Whether has organic webbing or made web shooters of her own, they want so badly to experiment on them (definitely not gonna try to get bit by a radioactive spider too, nope).
Jamil being torn from freaked out to having a crush on a girl with spider powers. Jafar trying to convince him that she's not an actual spider so that his ship could sail
Yuu making a web hammock to calm down the little kids in the club. Next minute she's having a strength competition with Hercules and Gaston because she can lift up to ten tons.
The clubgoers seeing her memories and freaking over the fact that Yuu has been up against so many dangerous foes and life or death situations such as the iconic train scene. It scares them even more than the overblots do.
The Parr family from the Incredible (if they're here in the au), feel so bad because she's doing vigilante work all on her own. Edna mode upgrades Yuu's spider suit to a new level with glee.
Yuu: No capes please. It's disrespectful to my image.
Edna: *sniffle* Would you like to be my daughter?
Okay okay okay first of all I'm going to vent a bit about ATSV because Pavitr my boy, my sunshine, my everything is literally so important to me like hell yeah give me the south asian/brown kid representation (now if only there was an young asian girl with a bob so I can feel better about that Dora the Explorer look my mum forced me to have throught 90% of primary school whilst all of my friends got to grow their own hair out)
Also not going to lie the only reason I'm into ATSV is because I've been a Mayday Parker stan since 2017 - like she is everything (and her backstory is just so sad like PeterMJ didn't deserve that). My favourite spider-people after Peter are his multiversal daughters because girldad Peter is everything (I actually own physical copies of the Renew Your Vows comics that are about Peter and MJ's daughter, Annie-May Parker, and they are so frickin good) but I digress...
Yes but Spider-Girl!Yuu is so cool. Thank you for giving me this idea.
I don't know if I want Yuu to have her own Guy in the Chair back in her universe and for Idia to feel jealous/threatened or for her to have no guy in the chair until she comes to twst and Ortho is like 'my time has come'
Ohh imagine the insane parkour skills she, Ruggie and Aladdin would have.
I know that being insanely smart in science is a Peter Parker thing and doesn't really apply to all Spider-People but I think she would be a science whizz (and joining the science club - making Crewel's already glaringly obvious favouritism skyrocket) and hanging out with all of the scientist characters like Prof Von Drake, Jumba, Yzma etc.
Her and Herc would be training buds. He'd see her and her heroics and superhuman friend and be like 'new best friend :D'. Phil loves the heroic potential she has and wants to train her but Pegasus and Megara are like nope and swoop him away.
Oh but imagine the beastfolk finding out about her enhanced senses and how sometimes they cause sensory overload and helping her out because they grew up like that so they know how to manage it better (I once read a fic that said that Savanaclaw showers have soaps with subtler scents to accommodate their enhanced sense of smell and like yes) whilst she's still getting used to it and has to keep it a secret back in her world.
I'm thinking back to all of the MCU!Peter Parker fics I read and all of the spider DNA tropes that tickled my fancy and I can just imagine the twst/HoM cast reacting to things like her having no thermoregulation (and going into hibernation), her purring, her being allergic/having a poison like reaction to peppermint, her having fangs (her being venomous would be cool as well - like imagine Kaa being all fanboying over her fangs and venom glands) etc..
Okay so I remember having a bunch of ideas about this but I can't recall all of them so here... 😅

Hey Spider-Man
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Insomniac Miles Morales x Black Fem Reader.
WARNINGS: None Really , Some swearing , Fluff!
A/N: I’m screaming this story is mf good 😭
Tumblr media
Your eyes slowly opened to the blaring sound of your alarm clock, and you let out a groan as you wiped the drool from the corner of your mouth. You looked around and realized that you had fallen asleep in your seat in front of your sewing machine. As you picked up the suit,examining it you saw a wet spot where you had drooled. "Oh, gross," you muttered to yourself as you stared at the ruined fabric.
The torn patch on your outfit, the damage inflicted by that infuriating new Spider-Man. It was a close call this time, and you knew that your subpar sewing skills were the only thing that saved your ass from getting caught. You breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that he hadn't seen your face. But things were going from bad to worse, with Felicia and you struggling to get away with your robberies while two masked vigilantes roamed the city.
You threaded the needle on your sewing machine and carefully lined up the fabric underneath it. You began to sew, the steady rhythm of the machine filling the room. Just as you started to get into a groove, your phone started to ring, causing you to throw your head back in frustration. You reluctantly picked it up, checking the time as you did.
"Shit, shit, shit," you cursed under your breath as you saw the time. You had promised Miles that you would volunteer at Feast with him again, and now you were already 10 minutes late. The thought of letting him down made you feel sick to your stomach, and you knew that you had to hurry if you wanted to make it up to him.
You quickly typed out a text message to Miles, lying that you were already on your way, before rushing to freshen up and head out the door. You knew that you were cutting it close, but you refused to let Miles down again.
As you finally entered the doors of Feast, you couldn't help but glance at your phone to check the time. You were relieved to see that you were only 25 minutes behind schedule, but you knew that you still had a lot of ground to make up.
You greeted the residents of Feast warmly as you walked through the building, scanning the room for any sign of Miles. After a few minutes of wandering, you finally spotted Miles in the kitchen, struggling to lift a few heavy boxes alongside Gloria.
With a sly grin, you snuck up behind Miles, admiring his dedication to the task at hand. "Always the hard worker," you observed, causing him to turn around in surprise.
"Y/n!" Miles cried out, his eyes lighting up as he pulled you into a warm embrace. You couldn't help but giggle at his enthusiasm, feeling a rush of joy at the sight of your friend.
"Hey Miles, I missed you too," you said, relishing the feeling of his arms around you. "Uh, yeah," he stammered, his cheeks flushing with color. "You can help me with this if you'd like."
As he pointed to the box, Miles accidentally knocked something off the table. Your quick reflexes kicked in, catching his attention. "Wow, Y/n, you've got some fast reflexes," he complimented. Nonchalantly, you placed the item back on the table and replied, "Oh, that? It was nothing." But Miles knew better - you were lightning-fast. But he shrugged it off and watched as you walked ahead of him with the box.
What started as mere suspicion soon evolved into a deep feeling within his chest. You and Miles had been friends for several months now, ever since you walked into the feast seeking shelter. Miles was the one who helped you get settled and eventually into your own cozy apartment. He couldn't help but wonder how you managed to afford it, but you never talked much about your "job."
You always found a way to deflect the conversation or change the subject whenever Miles asked about your work. You couldn't risk telling him what you actually did, and you hoped he would never find out. It wasn't that you were ashamed of your job; in fact, you loved the thrill and the fame that came with it. Living a double life was exhilarating, but it also came with dangers that you couldn't ignore. You couldn't risk getting Miles caught up in your dangerous world and becoming a casualty. As you pondered the risks, the news suddenly blasted through the building, cutting through your thoughts.
"The Burglar known as Black Cat struck again last night, stealing a precious artifact. She was able to evade the new Spider-Man and the police. If you have any information, please call your nearest precinct." A small smirk settled on your lips as you heard the reporters talk about you evading Spider-Man and the police. The thrill of it all filled you with a sense of conceit, and your entire body was buzzing with excitement.
Miles' words pulled you out of your thoughts. "Can you believe that? She got away from Spider-Man," he exclaimed. You shrugged nonchalantly. "Maybe she's just smarter than that rookie Spider-Man," you replied with a hint of amusement in your voice. Miles chuckled and bumped your shoulder playfully. "As if, she's just lucky. He'll get her next time," he joked. You couldn't help but smile at his lighthearted banter, even though you knew deep down that you were the Black Cat he was talking about.
"I doubt it, but he can try," you said, the words flowing smoothly from your mouth, your gaze fixed on Miles. The way you spoke to him had an almost hypnotic effect, and you knew it. You were well aware of Miles' little crush on you, and you couldn't deny that you felt something for him too. But you wanted him to make the first move, to take the lead in your budding relationship. Miles was clearly flustered by your words, and you couldn't help but giggle at his adorable reaction. "Ohhh... umm... w-well..." he stammered, searching for something to say.
"Can't get your words out, big boy?" you teased, your finger gently under his chin as your eyes flickered from his lips to his eyes. You could feel the tension between you two, and you knew that Miles was feeling it too. "Well, since you can't seem to speak, how about you meet me on the rooftop later at 8?" you suggested with a wink, before walking away to help Gloria with the food. Miles watched you walk away, his mouth slightly agape and his mind reeling from what had just happened.
You had always been a naturally flirty person, and Miles found it extremely attractive, he found you extremely attractive. But you never seemed to make a real move, and it left him constantly wondering if you actually liked him or not. He shook off his thoughts with a smile on his face and got back to work.
After volunteering, you walked back home and went inside to continue fixing your suit.
You walked over to your desk, where your sleek black suit with hues of pink was waiting for you. You admired it for a moment, appreciating the pop of color you had added to differentiate yourself from Felicia. Taking a seat, you began to work on your suit, making quick progress and almost finishing before your phone rang. When you saw that it was Miles, you picked up with a smile on your face. "Hey Miles," you greeted him warmly.
"Hey, I'm on the rooftop just waiting for you," Miles' voice came through the phone.
"Okay, I'm coming," you replied, sliding your chair back and standing up. You walked onto the fire escape, climbing up to the roof where you saw Miles sitting at the edge of the building.
"That's so dangerous, Miles," you said, walking over to the side of him and leaning against the edge.
"Nah, I'll be fine. Unless you push me," Miles said with a hint of playfulness. He stood up on the ledge before jumping down.
"You wouldn't do that, right?" he asked, looking back up at you.
"Of course not, Miles. I'd have no one else to talk to and no one else to annoy me," you replied, laughing at the thought.
"Oh, I'm annoying now?" Miles teased as he took a seat next to you in one of the lawn chairs.
"Very," you said, still laughing. You both sat there, staring out at the beautiful sea of light that is New York City.
You leaned your head onto Miles' shoulders, causing him to stiffen for a moment before he quickly relaxed. He looked at you with a small smile on his face, feeling content in your presence and enjoying the time you two spent together when you weren't busy.
"It's so beautiful tonight, don't you think?" you said, closing your eyes and letting the cool air hit your skin. You loved the feeling of it all.
"Yeah it is," he said lowly. "You're way more beautiful tho." You sat up, looking at Miles, a smile on your face and a sparkle in your eyes. Miles loved the way your eyes would sparkle, especially when it would be toward him.
"Thank you, Miles." Miles felt his stomach flip at what he was about to do, but he did it anyway, slowly leaning in, and you reciprocated. Until it happened, your lips meeting in a gentle kiss, a kiss that he waited countless days to happen , and he loved every second of it and was savoring every second your lips lingered until his phone rang, making him pull away.
"Ohhh sorry... it's my mom, I've got to go," he said, springing up, and running down the fire escape. "See you later, Miles," you shouted, sighing after. You were proud of Miles for actually making a move tonight; it took him long enough.
You wasted no time, heading straight back to your apartment and quickly put the finishing touches on your skin-tight suit. As you held it up and admired it for a brief moment, you felt a thrill of excitement course through you. After slipping into the suit and brushing your hair into a neat bun, you adorned yourself with the goggles and gadgets you had stolen, of course activating them with a faint hum. "It's time for business," you said, finally activating your boots before leaping off of your balcony and heading towards your latest heist. The rush of adrenaline pumped through your veins with every graceful leap, fueling your excitement and making you feel alive.
"The Maria," you murmured with a wicked smile, standing atop the building and surveying your target. "This is going to be a lot of fun," you muttered , using a laser tool to cut a hole through the roof. You took a deep breath before leaping in, landing quietly on your two feet. "There it is," you muttered, your eyes gleaming as they fixed on the latest piece you had yet to claim. The diamond panther bracelet sat all alone, waiting for you to take it. And take it you would.
With a flick of your index finger, your claw began to sparkle in the dim light, and you used it to cut a perfect circle into the glass. "You're so beautiful, my darling, and worth so much," you murmured to the diamond panther bracelet as you reached out to claim it.
"Do you always talk to yourself?" a voice suddenly interrupted from behind you.
You spun around to see the new Spider-Man standing there, looking at you
"Ah, Hey Spider. It's so nice to see you again," you purred in a light and seductive voice.
"You don't need to steal--" Spider-Man began, but you swiftly cut him off.
"Oh, shut it," you snapped, quickly grabbing the diamond panther bracelet and securing it in your grasp before your arm was webbed to the display.
"We can make this easy, Black Cat. Just put it back," Spider-Man urged.
You laughed in response to his words. "Oh, a little bit of webbing is nothing to a cat, Spider."
You quickly used your sharp claws to cut your way out of the webbing, throwing a smoke bomb to disorient Spider-Man just enough to make your escape. You retraced your steps and slipped out the same way you had entered, knowing he would be hot on your tail.
As you hid at the back of the building and watched him swing away, a victorious laugh escaped your lips. "Black Cat: one, Spider-Man: zero," you declared triumphantly.
"Make it Spider-Man: one," a voice suddenly interrupted from behind you.
You spun around to see Spider-Man standing there, looking at you with a determined expression.
Your hands were ensnared in webs, trapping you against the wall. "Fuck," you muttered, desperately trying to free yourself from the sticky mess, but to no avail. You looked up to see the new Spider-Man getting closer.
"I actually love this suit more than the original Spider. It's edgy," you remarked.
"Save the talking for the NYPD," Spider-Man retorted.
You smirked in response. "But you wouldn't really send me to jail, would you, Spidey?"
The new Spider-Man was now face to face with you. He cocked his head to the side, his lenses going wide with surprise, before he started taking steps back.
"What's the matter? Did I spook you?" you taunted.
As you and Miles stood there, his head spinning a mile a minute, he couldn't help but wonder how he didn't recognize you. While he was seemingly distracted, you took advantage of the opening, using one of your gadgets to weaken the webs ensnaring you. With a powerful rip, you broke free and swept him off his feet, pinning him to the ground.
You were now looming over him, and it was no mistake that it was you. He saw the same sparkle he loved in your eyes. But for something he didn't think was possible.
"What's the matter, Spider? Cat got your tongue?" you taunted before giving him a kick to the chest and running off.
"Y/n, wait," he called after you.
Before you knew it, your hands were webbed up again, but this time Spider-Man pulled you into his body.
"Why are you doing this, Y/n?" he asked, and you could hear the confusion and concern in his voice. Now you were interested.
"Who are you?" you asked, squinting your eyes.
He reached for his mask and pulled it up. Your eyes widened in shock. "Miles. You're Spider-Man?" you exclaimed. "Why didn't you tell me?" you asked, giving him a light hit to the chest.
"Why didn't you tell me you're Black Cat? Is this what you've been doing to get money?" Miles asked, clearly taken aback.
"A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do," you replied, slowly backing up.
"Wait, don't go," Miles pleaded, pulling you back by your wrist. "You can't keep doing this, Y/n."
"Oh, but I will," you said, a mischievous smile on your face as you traced the outline of Miles's jaw. He wanted to resist you so badly, but he was so weak when it came to you.
"But-" he started to protest, but you cut him off with a deep, passionate kiss before pulling away.
"See you later, Miles. Besides, what's a spider without its cat?" you said, using another smoke bomb to make your escape.
Miles stood shocked, coughing from the smoke that lingered in the air.
"Miles? Miles, did you get her?" he heard Ganke's voice through his earpiece.
"No, Ganke. But I... I think my girlfriend is Black Cat," Miles replied, still trying to process what had just happened.

AU Ideas and other Concepts. 1/?)
Authors Note: I apologize for the delay for the upcoming chapters of Crownless Monarchy, I have been working on the next three chapters (at once) and hope to release them sometime soon.
××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××××
Hey y'all. I figured I'd let some of these ideas see the light of day. Perhaps one of you can make something of them.
A bit of disclaimer: The way "s/i" isn't the typical. A Self Insert is usually the author putting themselves as a character.
In the MHA Community this is usally done through projecting ones personality through an existing character (ex: Midoriya)
The way I use S/I is a either:
A: A OC with knowledge or awareness of MHA's canon in some form (visions, reincarnation, intution) These characters are usually made up from a collection of different people and experiences, rather than just my own personhood.
A Character like Seven fit this bill.
B: S/I but Ingrained. Aka a S/I that blends and adapts to the world of MHA, their past self is not as relevant (if it's brought up at all) however may play a role in their perspectives and world views.
A Character like Arachne fits this bill (for another post)
With that out of the way, let's start small and work our way up:
Bonuses: (Minor prompts and concepts)
Dabi uses the PLF's connections to give Rei better treatment/conditions at the Hospital, or just transfer her all together to somewhere safe.
The Hood Enji fights is a Twice Clone while the real Hood is elsewhere.
S/I wakes up as Touya after the 3 year coma.
This one's out there: Hood meets Rei and causes a realization through his blunt honesty (f-flowers, iss the bar t-that low?)
Gigantomachia rewrite/replacement (idk, mine said make them motivational rather than denouncing, also make them smart)
a Vigilante group inspired by the 50 Blessings Organization from Hotline Miami
_______________________________________
Event Swap: At Kamino, Enji's crimes are exposed (how is up to you)
Funfact: The above prompt was originally a time travel fic, here's the unfinished script & notes
HPSC gets exposed as well [ Child soldier project] ) (Perhaps this can be added as well?)
Zero was disguised as AFO and sheds her disguse for her grand reveal
Zero twirled around in place, glittering in the moonlight, taking deep breath "Come and serenade with me, Uncle Toshi." she was wild, wild and yet so meticulous.
They were speechless, shell shocked, They were running to the smoke and lost themselves in the fire.
"You're looking glum Endeavor, y'know for someone who's just achieved No1 status, Ya really need to brighten up!" She jeered.
A canon formed out of her forearm, quickly firing a beam of energy. An explosion rocked the district, some heroes barley fleeing in time, others not so fortunate.
She barked a manic laugh, her eyes wide as saucers, onslaught never ceasing, never to falter.
And as she made her great adeau, the nation finally knew that the age of heroism was torn asunder.
_______________________________________
Bonus: After Ms.Curious is killed, S/I posses her body and lives again (Type A: S/I)
Bonus: Strike Back
Class of Aldera is done with Bakugo's shit( Students stand up for Midorya and try to redeem themselves)
( Fingers calls himself a coward for giving into pressure and fear [ was forced to attack Midorya, threatened verbally and physically by Bakugo and became numb to it], is inspired by a David Shield interview to become a scientist )
Star and Stripes' (Cathleen Bate's) Neice, Head of the W.H.A, travels to Japan following AM'S retirement/ Kamino and begins to take over the reigns from the HPSC. Starting with U.A's internships.
Profile: Mary-Ann Bate
Dirty Blonde, 6,2 ft , wavy blonde hair slightly past shoulders, well kempt, suits and pants
Stern attitude, takes no shit, willing to ground Endevour and Hawks's hero licenses
Q: Reality
Bonus: Replaceable
During the sludge incident it's not Bakugo whom Midorya pulls out
A New Course Of Action:
Following the disaster (Pointless Kamakaze raid), Dabi's expose video and Twice's death at Jaku, The civilians of Tokyo decide to take matters into their own hands, it all starts with one after all.
And lastly a character profile of a background character turned OC
Tumblr media
If you need reference, this is the girl seated next to Midoriya at Aldera, her quirk is pretty rad with the possibility of being better than Hellflame (because she seems to have fine control over the flame itself, becoming it). Of course she needs professional training first
I imagined them (her and Mido) here as friends who met halfway through middle school and have stuck together since.
Much like her quirk and namesake, Ryukka has a fiery disposition and doesn't take kindly to people* harassing her friend(s) (*read Bakugo)
She's one the only people at Aldera willing to stand up to him (her flames cause his quirk to overload)
As hinted at in her quote, she does get into UA and thanks to her and Midorya's study sessions (Quirk and academic wise) she gets in with high scores (beating out Bakugo's score in the Entrance Exam)
Has beef with Aizawa
===============================
As I stated, everything in here is up for grabs so feel free to use it in your works if you so wish.
Just remember to link it here in the comments

This Love is Ours
You never know what people have up their sleeves Ghosts from your past gonna jump out at me Lurking in the shadows with their lip gloss smiles But I don't care, 'cause right now, you're mine And you'll say Don't you worry your pretty little mind People throw rocks at things that shine And life makes love look hard The stakes are high, the water's rough But this love is ours - Ours by Taylor Swift
Jazz Fenton stared down at her girlfriend, her arms crossed over her chest. This was the third time tonight that Steph had tried to sneak out of the house and Jazz was just about to strangle the woman.
“For god’s sake, Stephenie! You’re a nurse! You should know better than anyone that you need to be on bed rest right now!” Jazz shouted, walking towards where her girlfriend was carefully and struggling to put on her Spoiler suit.
“It’s just a gunshot wound,” Steph mumbled, nearly falling over as she tried to put on her pants only for her Amazon of a girlfriend to haul her up in her arms bridal style.
“It was three gunshot wounds, and you’re lucky that none of them hit anything serious, now you’re going to lay down like a good girl,” Jazz told her, walking back to her girlfriend’s bed and carefully setting her down. Jazz and Steph had been dating for about a year now. It had been a year of ups and downs as Jazz learned about life outside of Gotham City and what cursed herself with getting involved with vigilantes yet again. She had thought she left that behind when her brother had moved to Metropolis for school and Team Phantom broke up.
But apparently, Jazz just had the best luck in the world and found herself involved yet again. Slightly, not really. It definitely wasn’t the same this time around. Now she was just dating a vigilante and dealing with the fallout. She had told Steph she wanted nothing to do with the vigilante aspect and thankfully her girlfriend had been okay with it—after she finished reeling over the fact that Jazz had figured her out so fast.
It had been their first actual date that Jazz had told Steph that she knew, and Steph had taken about ten minutes to reboot before demanding that Jazz tell her how she figured it out. But how could she not? The first time they met had been when Jazz had started her internship at the Gotham Hospital. She had been torn for so long between being a professor, a therapist, a lawyer, and a surgeon and surprising everyone. Apparently, everyone had made bets on either her being a therapist or a professor.
Which, understandable, as she had a tendency of being a know it all. But it had ultimately been Frostbite who had inspired her to become a surgeon, to be able to heal others, to help those who had been hurt. Plus all the years helping Danny definitely went into play. So there she was in her first surgery, ready to throw up when she looked over at Nurse Brown who was giving her a wary look. Jazz had been nervous as hell the entire operation and as soon as the operation had ended, Jazz had run out of the doors as fast as she could and heaved.
Nurse Brown had been right behind her, rubbing her back and giving her soothing words to comfort her. Afterward, she had taken Jazz down to the cafeteria and gotten her crackers and a Sprite that she slowly munched and sipped on while she asked her about her life.
It was then that Jazz had her clocked. Steph was definitely more than just a nurse. She had watched the way she sat, ensuring that she saw all exits in the lunch hall. She saw the way she kept her shoulders tense, her eyes narrowed, and how she followed each of Jazz’s movements. It all reminded her of herself, of Valerie, Danny, Sam, and Tucker, and how they had all been the exact same way.
Jazz had managed to learn how to ignore it, how to be more subtle about keeping an eye on everything. Besides, nowadays she relied more on her extra abilities due to her liminality. It turned out that having a mother working around ectoplasm while pregnant and then growing up around ectoplasm and going to the infinite realms as often as she did, meant the radiation would turn you a little less human and a little more ghostly.
Not that Jazz minded, the super strength, the enhanced senses, the speed, they were a major plus, especially living in a place like Gotham where there was danger at every corner. She wasn’t as fast as say, the Flash, or as fast as even Danny but she was definitely faster than the average human. Her strength was nothing to laugh at either, while it wasn’t ghost-level strength, she could bench press a thousand pounds with no problem. Which was beyond enough in Jazz’s opinion.
Relying on her liminal gifts, though, kept her at a constant advantage, she had Steph figured out way too quickly and easily. Once she had pegged her as a vigilante, she had realized she was Spoiler as the blond hair matched. This wasn’t her first rodeo, unfortunately.
“Three gunshot wounds, one in the right shoulder, one in the thigh, and one in the abdomen, I know, I was there, I got them,” Steph said and let out a huff as she slammed her hands against the mattress and glared at the ceiling. “I’m bored."
“And going and fighting crime in spandex and Kevlar sounds like a fun time to you?” Jazz asked, arching a brow as she sat down beside her girlfriend and pushed the hair out of her face. “Rest, please. I don’t want to have to redo your stitches again,” she said softly.
Steph sighed and held Jazz’s hand to her face. “I’m sorry, I’m making you worry again, aren’t I?” She asked and Jazz just gave her a sad smile and nodded.
“I thought I lost you, you know. When Alfred called me and said you had been shot, I don’t think I’ve ever run that fast in my life,” she said with a laugh. She moved her hand from cupping Steph’s cheek and ran her hands through her hair.
“I know,” Steph said with a chuckle and then winced. “I believe one of the first things you told me after saying you knew I was Spoiler was that you wouldn’t do house calls and I’d have to find someone else to stitch me up. But there you were, shoving both Alfred and Dr. Thompkins out of the way to fix me up yourself.”
Jazz let out a sniff. “I can’t have you dying on me, now can I?” Steph caught her hand and threaded their fingers together and pressed a kiss to Jazz’s knuckles.
“No I suppose not. But that explanation to Bruce was not a fun one, you know. I still don’t know how you even got in the Batcave,” she said, furrowing her brow. Jazz just gave her girlfriend a secretive smile. Steph had been so unbelievably excited when Jazz had finally trusted her with her closely guarded secret. She knew that Jazz was meta but for the longest time, the redhead had been unable to bring herself to share more than that. With the anti-ecto acts still solidly in place, her existence was still illegal. It had taken her a lot to finally tell Steph the truth.
But when she had, Steph had just given her a deep kiss and promised she would overturn the acts herself if she had to. She’d do anything to make Jazz safe. And she had kept her word. Stephenie Brown, the Spoiler had marched right through the zeta tube to the Watchtower and demanded that the Justice League help overturn the laws.
It had been an ongoing legal battle for the last three months now but things were looking up. Danny and his totally not-a-sugar-daddy boyfriend had been excitedly keeping up with the news and updating Jazz constantly.
Steph laughed and shook her head. “This is why you and Cass aren’t allowed to be in the same room together anymore. You’re both so damn sneaky I can’t trust either of you,” she said with a huff.
The liminal just laughed and pressed a kiss to the corner of Stephenie’s mouth. “I have to keep you on your toes somehow, don’t I?”
“I suppose so,” the blond said and carefully scooted over on the bed and yanked Jazz onto the bed with her. Jazz smiled and adjusted herself on the bed until her girlfriend was resting her hand on the surgeon’s chest, their fingers interlocked as Jazz carefully maneuvered around her girlfriend until their legs were intertwined with one another and she held her close.
“How’s the pain? Scale of one to ten, and don’t try to act all high and mighty on me Stephenie Brown, you know better,” Jazz murmured, running her fingers up and down the vigilante’s side.
“Right now? Probably a six or a low seven if that makes sense?” She said, crinkling her nose. “I was a bad patient and waited until the pain was kicking in to take my medicine.”
Jazz laughed and shook her head in dismay. “Steph! You know better than anyone to not do that!”
The blond pouted, pushing her bottom lip out in a way that made her oh so kissable that Jazz couldn’t help herself and captured her lips with her own.  How could she not? Her girlfriend was right there, pushing her lips out in a pout, taunting her! It left her no choice.
“I love you,” she murmured, nipping at Steph’s bottom lip softly.
“I love you too Doctor Nightingale,” the vigilante whispered as Jazz started to pull away from her. Jazz smiled and brushed her own hair out of her face as she looked down at her girlfriend, she couldn’t get over the fact that this was her life, that she had somehow gotten so lucky to have Stephenie plop right in her lap that day at Gotham General just two years before. That they spent a year skirting around one another, with soft touches and flirty comments until Jazz had finally gotten the nerve to ask Steph out.
She had been terrified to do so! To date a coworker? One of the nurses in the very OR that Jazz was now a resident in? It felt taboo, forbidden, she had read the handbook at least thirty times to be absolutely certain that she wouldn’t get fired for dating Nurse Brown.
Once she had been sure, had covered all of her bases, she had fumbled through asking the vigilante on a date until Stephenie had finally taken pity on her and said yes. Of course, after that she had marched a laughing and blushing Steph all the way to HR just to let them know of their romantic relationship, just to be extra, extra sure that they wouldn’t get in trouble.  Steph had given her so much grief for it, but thankfully she thought that it was adorable as well.
“Thanks for taking care of your poor, pathetic patient,” Steph said, giving Jazz sad eyes.
“You mean my terrible patient who doesn’t listen to doctor’s orders and keeps getting out of bed to sneak out and patrol?” Jazz asked, arching an eyebrow. “It’s like you completely forget that I have super hearing.”
“They need me! And I’m bored, babe! I’m so, so, so bored in this bed! I wanna get out of this damn bed! I wanna spar, I wanna run around, I wanna do something!”
Jazz smiled and moved back to lie on her back, holding Steph close. “If you behave for me for two more days and stay in bed, I’ll go down on you,” she murmured and Steph blushed and started mumbling.
“Well, I definitely wouldn’t be opposed to something like that, and you know, they say that’s a good way to get some pent-up energy out,” she said, looking away from her girlfriend. Jazz just laughed and kissed her temple.
“In the meantime, my brother dropped off some video games and his video game console. We can play that new Zelda game if you want? He also left us his switch thingy so we can play that island game you’ve been talking about too,” Jazz said and Steph let out a laugh.
“Jazz, you’re my lifesaver. Please tell Danny thank you for me,” Steph said, hugging her girlfriend tight.
“Why don’t you just get your own video game stuff?” Jazz asked, glancing down at the woman.
“Because video games rot your brain and I refuse to have that in my house. Besides, I usually just go to Wayne Manor and mooch off of them anyway,” Steph said. “When will Danny want this back?”
Jazz snorted. “Don’t worry, his sugar daddy can get him another one,” she said with a shrug.
“Are you seriously calling Conner Kent his sugar daddy?” Steph asked with a cackle.
“He gets money from Lex Luthor like every month! Like a lot! Neither of them even has to work because of how big his allowance is. How is he not a sugar daddy?” Jazz exclaimed.
Steph just chuckled and shook her head. “Go get the switch,” she said between laughs.
Jazz climbed off the bed and saluted her girlfriend. “Anything for you, my love,” she said and skipped out of the room. Smiling to herself that she finally figured out a way to distract her girlfriend enough to keep her in bed and not sneak out to fight crime. She grabbed the bag of video games and consoles that Danny had dropped off through a portal and headed back to the room just as she found Steph struggling to put her pants to her Spoiler costume on.
“Stephenie Brown!”

Two of the Same ~Part 2~
Two of the Same ~Part 3~
Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~
My lips were pursed, and eyes squinting as I was finishing writing an essay about Oppenheimer’s Manhattan Project for AP US History.
It was supposed to be my classmate, Tim Drakes’, assignment, but with his focus on his adoptive fathers' company, Wayne Enterprises, he didn’t really have time for schoolwork anymore. And when he’d finally have time, he’d spend every class working to get them done, and stress about them.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt and decided that I’d help him out with some of his classes; However, my focus wasn’t exactly pristine because I was waiting for a certain masked vigilante to pop up at my window within any second. So instead, I tapped at the paper with my pencil, and stared nervously at the fire escape outside of my window for the caped wonder.
He often came to my window at ungodly hours of night, bruised and bloody. Due to the amount of times he visited, I had a few packs of first aid kits stuffed in my closet.
My parents judged me the day I came back home from the drug store with 2 full bags of the kits, and I just shrugged it off and said, “It’s Gotham, you never know what’s gonna happen.” When in reality I had a young boy in my room every night that I decided to patch up.
But it was already 1 am, and he would have usually popped by already. Worried thoughts started to flood my brain, and I had hoped that he was alright. There had been very few nights that he hadn’t come, and those were the nights that he was badly injured, and needed more care than what a first aid kit could give him.
I was about to put down Tim’s assignment and go to bed when my window quickly slammed open. With a smile on my lips, and my heart quickening, I looked over to the window. Sliding in, and landing on his back on my floor with a painful groan, was the boy I’d been waiting for all night, Red Robin. The previous Robin.
My smile faded as I rushed to the boys' side, kneeling down and placing a hand on his back. He looked in worse shape than I had ever seen him before. His lip was busted, his suit was torn open with huge gashes of blood covering his chest from ginormous claw marks. He looked like shit.
“Are you okay?” I asked, analyzing his wounds. He nodded, groaning as he tried to lift himself to stand up. As soon as he put pressure on his right arm, he winced and fell back down.
“Never been better...” He mumbled, laying his head on the ground in defeat. He took deep breaths, and I watched as his chest fell up and down heavily. Thin streaks of blood starting to slide down from his suit and onto my carpet.
“Okay... let’s just… get you up.” I breathed out, wrapping my arms around his torso, and trying my best to lift up the heavy hero. I could feel his blood soak into my shirt, but that was the least of my worries right now. My main worry was that I was pressed right against his chest, and he was making sounds of pain at the harsh feeling of my shirt against his raw, and open wound. I muttered my apologies as I moved him. Though it seemed impossible, I lifted him up so that his back was against the wall under my window. I leaned back and immediately stood up.
“Stay right here.” I ordered him, going straight into my closet and reaching up on the top shelf for my first aid kit.
“Like I’d be able to move anyway.” He said from behind me. I jumped up and grabbed the kit, turned around, and gave him a look.
“You know what I meant.” I knelt back down next to him, looking down at his wounds again. There was no way that I’d be able to just put a band aid on it and he’d be fine. He needed something more urgent than me, but for some odd reason his first instinct was to come running to my apartment. That thought made my heart start racing, but I needed it to calm down in order to think clearly.
“Okay so I can’t exactly get a good glimpse at these gashes you have here... is it okay if I...” I blushed as I motioned at his top, trailing off with my sentence. He nodded.
“You can take it off.” He consented. I nodded, the blush still covering my cheeks as I opened the kit and pulled out a pair of scissors. I lifted the fabric where it got slashed open and began to cut it around his body. I made sure the cold scissors didn’t touch his skin so he wouldn’t be uncomfortable. After cutting both sides, I backtracked to his front, and cut up the fabric till it hit his neck, and I put the scissors down. Carefully, and with blood-stained fingertips, I removed the fabric off of his arms.
Starting with the left, feeling the muscles in his arm tense as I moved downward. When I’d accidentally skim across his skin, I noticed that goosebumps would start to form. I felt his fingertips brush against mine as I got his sleeve off his hands. I then moved to the right arm. A huge purple swollen mark revealing as I pulled it down. The mark trailed to his forearm. He looked at it as he winced.
“That looks bad.” He sighed as he analyzed it.
“It looks like you broke it.” I confirmed as I lightly finished taking his sleeve off his arm. He nodded, and I reached back into the kit, searching for the clothed tape to wrap around his chest. As I stated before, I couldn’t exactly heal his wounds, but I could prevent it from getting worse. I didn’t want it getting infected or him bleed out.
Speaking of it getting infected, I reached around for the disinfectant sanitizer, keeping an eye on his chest.
It was nice and toned. Under the blood leaking down, I could see 6 pack abs. I cringed when I realized that I was mesmerized by him while he was under this condition.
“I’ll be right back. I need to get a rag with water to clean this up.” I spoke softly. He nodded.
“Just hurry back.” He begged. I stood up quickly, and swiftly ran into the bathroom, grabbing a rag off of the bathroom countertop stand, and wetting it with some warm water.
I stared into the mirror at my blood stained shirt, and my frizzy hair. I might have looked worse than the vigilante in my bedroom.
I squeezed the rag to make it damp as I turned off the water, and ran back into my room quietly, trying not to disrupt my parents while they were sleeping. I closed my bedroom door behind me, and I hurried back to the boy.
“Okay. Sorry about that. Let’s clean you up.” I started to dab at the wounds lightly, and he started to seethe in pain. I winced and stopped dabbing him. “Sorry. I should have warned you that it would sting.” He closed his eyes, exhaling a breath. After a second, he nodded, and gestured for me to continue.
“It’s okay. I trust that you don’t mean to hurt me.” He put a hand on my waist, squeezing it tightly. It would probably leave a mark, but I didn’t care. My mind was too clouded by the fact that he was so comfortable with touching me that every other thought didn’t matter. Also, the fact that he was dying on my floor. Well, I shouldn’t say dying. He’s not literally dying. He’s just getting there, ya know? And I couldn’t let the guy who I looked most forward to seeing every day, being in pain within my care.
“Who was it this time?” I asked, trying to make small talk in order for him to keep focus on something else.
“Killer Croc.” He laughed lowly. “Let’s just say he doesn’t like it when people accidentally break one of his nails. He’s kind of a drama queen.” I laughed.
“Okay but if we’re going to be honest, breaking nails do suck.” I looked up at him and into his eyes. He looked decently at peace right now for the pickle that he was in. I assumed that he had gotten used to the stinging from the rag, which was now covered in blood.
He had a dopey smile lying on his face, which oddly reminded me of the one that Tim sent me every so often when I'd pass him in the hallway, or when I’d make small talk with him in Chemistry before the bell rang. The two of you weren’t necessarily friends, but it was nice to see him when he'd show up to school. Wayne Enterprises kept him busy, so sometimes you wouldn't see him for days on end.
“What?” I asked Red Robin, glancing back down at his wound, as he continued to stare at me.
“You look so pretty when you’re keeping me from having a painful and very tragic death.” He sarcastically commented, lifting his hand that was once on my waist, and brushed a piece of hair out of my face. I blushed again and rolled my eyes.
“Well, it’s the least I could do. You do help save our city from the corrupt, and dangerous criminals out there on the streets. It’s time someone saved you.” I replied, placing the rag on his lap, and grabbing the disinfectant. He gave out an amused chuckle at my words, and I picked up the rag again, pumping the disinfectant on, and wiping his chest down with it before the blood came gushing back. I quickly grabbed the cloth wrap and started wrapping it around his chest.
“I’m so sorry if this hurts. Just tell me if it gets too tight.” I told him, starting to cover up his wound.
“Hah. Believe me. My suit is probably tighter than this would be.” He leaned forward so that I could get easier access to his back, which I found out had a few smaller cuts that I could easily patch up with a few Band-Aids.
“Well, I don’t want you feeling uncomfortable.” I ran out of the wrapping cloth and looked around for something to keep the cloth around his chest. My aid kit didn’t come with tape to keep it together, so I had to look for the next best thing.
On the floor under my desk, I saw a safety pin, and I leaned into his chest, my palm holding the cloth in place so it wouldn’t come undone. The pin was farther away than I thought it was, so I leaned in further, catching it under my middle finger, and sliding it closer to me so I could grab it. Smiling, and facing his chest once again, I lifted my hand up softly, and clasped the pin on a few pieces of the cloth.
“You said that you didn’t want me to be uncomfortable.” He commented. I nodded as I focused on trying to clasp the safety pin together. “This may sound cheesy, but nothing you could ever do could make me uncomfortable. You’re the most comforting person I know.” I looked up at him through my lashes, lips pursed. He looked down at me with his lips slightly opened, and his eyes glancing at my own, and then my lips. I smiled, looking down at the safety pin as I clasped it together.
“This should keep that from getting any worse.” I put both of my hands over the bandages around his upper body. “Now all we should worry about is the lip and the arm. There’s not much I can do for your arm, but the lip…” I reached my hand up to hover over his busted lip. “The lip I can handle.” The blood on the lip had started to dry now, but I grabbed some small wipes off of the ground, and began to wipe at the blood, disinfecting it.
“So, what were you doing before I got here?” He asked, looking at the bed where I was sitting previously.
“Just doing some homework.” I switched sides of the wipe. “Well not my homework. It’s one of my classmates assignments for history. He’s been super stressed lately, and I noticed, so I’m helping him out.” I scoot closer to Red Robin, trying to get a more comfortable position.
“Is this classmate your boyfriend?” He asked. I scoff, amused, before a sweet smile came onto my lips.
“No, he’s not my boyfriend. Just a classmate. His name is Tim, and if I’m being honest, I don’t really know him all too well. I do know that he’s super smart, though. He seems pretty sweet, and very compassionate from what I’ve gathered from our conversations, but we’re not that close.” I pause for a moment, placing the wipe down once I’ve wiped away the crusty blood. Red looks away from me and looks down at the floor beside him. I continue speaking as I finish up. “Just a person helping another person. Just as I am with you.” I grab the disinfectant, and place some on my pointer finger.
“He’s a lucky guy to be able to know a person like you.” Red smiled. He immediately stopped smiling when he realized that moving his lip stung. I hid my smile.
“I hope you don’t mind. I should rub some of this on your lip, so it doesn’t get infected either.” I mumble as I stare into his dark blue eyes. His pupil is so enlarged that you can barely see them, but his eyes are soft, and they look like the ocean waves on a calm day. It’s hard to imagine that they’re the same eyes that some villains are afraid of.
I don’t realize how close we are to one another until he leans in and presses his lips to mine. I taste the chemicals of the wipes that I had just rubbed on them, but immediately kiss back without hesitation.
So that I can touch him, I wipe the disinfectant that was on my finger, on my floor, and place my arms around his neck. I feel his left hand go to my waist, pulling me closer so that I’m straddling his lap. My heart flutters as I think to how he’s so strong that with one hand, he can pull me on top of him.
But besides his strong demeanor, he’s soft and gentle. He seems to already know how to match his lips perfectly with mine, or maybe they were made just for me.
And yet sadly, I’m the first to pull away. He leans in as I do, still wanting more. His eyes are still closed as if he’s trying to relive what just happened, and when he opens them, his pupil is impossibly bigger. He seems to be speechless, and the only thing that comes across his lips is a large smile, despite the stinging that may come with it.
My face is red hot, and I rub my finger across his lips. “I hope that doesn’t get infected now.” I speak. What is my obsession with his wounds getting infected? Oh my god!
“Well at least I’ll know how it got infected, and how worth it, it was.” I would have laughed at his words if I didn’t hear a cough at the window. The both of us looked up to the familiar red, green, and yellow colors, standing there looking absolutely disgusted.
The boy below me rolled his eyes.
“Robin.” Is all he said as my face flushed out of color.
“Is this civilian causing a problem, Red Robin?” Robin asked, not breaking eye contact with me.
“No. They just helped me with my wounds is all. You can leave now.” Red said. I tried to move myself off of him, but his grip on me softly tightened.
Robin shook his head. “Batman asked of me to come and collect you. He has not heard from you for nearly an hour, and would wish us to regroup.” Damn. For how young he was, he spoke pretty well. Maybe he was older and hit puberty late or something.
Red sighed. “Well can you at least give us a moment please?” He asked. Robin nodded.
“As you wish.” He went to go jump down the stairwell, but he stopped for a moment. “And next time, keep the window closed.” He leaped down from my view, and I looked back down to the boy against my wall, whom I was still sitting on.
“I’m sorry. But I guess duty calls. And if that duty is Batman, then it’s immediate.” He loosens his grip on my waist and sighs. He lets me get off of him now, as I lean down and help him get up.
“Don’t use that arm, and make sure not to do anything to make those claw marks any bigger. Now go back to your base or whatever and get actual help.” I order, as he sits down on the windowsill.
“Do I at least get a goodbye kiss?” He asks, smirking. I roll my eyes and lean in. His left hand finds its way to my cheek, caressing it as I kiss him softly.
This time, he pulls away first. “If I don’t see you within the next week, I’ll send one of the others to give you an update for how I’m feeling.” He says. I nod.
“I don’t care. Just get better.” I cup his cheek, and he smiles.
He doesn’t say anything as he exits my window, and starts down the stairs in the fire exit. Below, I can see a motorcycle with Robin sitting on it.
"Took you long enough." I heard Robin complain.
“You could wait 5 more minutes.” My boy wonder said, as he started up the engine. He looked up to me, smiled brightly, and waved. I waved back.
“I’ll see you soon!” He promised.
“It’s a date!” I replied. He chuckled and drove off down the alley. I watched as he drove away from my view.
I closed my window and locked it. My heart was racing, and my mind was blank. I stared back to the unfinished essay on my bed.
“What the fuck just happened?” I asked myself.
May I request a TASM!Peter Parker x Reader fic,??
Feel free to do anything,,, if you're familiar with the Prowler,,, could the reader be a Prowler or smthng,? It's fine if not, I enjoy your work :D
Warnings: I put swearwords :( Oh and slang. Not 100% accurate to the movies mind you...
.
.
ORANGE COUNTY, NY. The last train stop before entering the New York metropolitan area. Geographically? Not far. Enough to be an inconveniencing commute, but quieter, greener. It's that time of the year, when light showers waft in from the warming ocean, the sky patchy and swirling with paint strokes that occasionally break, revealing clear blue skies. Airplanes disappear into those huge blooms of white and storming grey, airliners headed out and disappearing over the Atlantic.
Orange County, NY, was the northernmost entrance into The Big Apple. And for a broke nobody like you? It's not like it's hard to catch a train, after all. In fact, when the tracks pass right through your backyard, it couldn't be easier. This place used to be a factory warehouse, after all.
They're nothing like you see in the movies, though. No huge glass industrial windows and concrete floors. This was, in all actuality, a glorified steel tent in a vaguely rectangular boxy shape. The ceiling leaked onto the gravel floors, and the entire place reeked of mildew, not to mention the draft. Oh, the draft.
But it did its job, and it housed your stuff. As in your hammock, and your backpack, and your sleeping bag... Now that you've thought about it, being low maintenance has its perks.
And stashed in the one good corner of the building was a plastic tote bin. Good for keeping any extras, the kind that'd suck to lose, but wouldn't be impossible to live without. Water-damaged comics, some bottled water, a can of cold, soggy barbecue beans... The backups. The comics really didn't do you any justice. Nor did the papers. No, when entering the Villain's evil lair, usually it looked like you'd imagine in the picture shows. The gorgeous open spaces, the rows of gadgets and gizmos that would cost a fortune! A fortune! To create, let alone maintain. But here you were. Not a villain draped in black. Well, no, your suit had black on it, but that was to keep a low profile. And because who wants to wear neon yellow on a stealth mission? Oh, also, not rich, and did you mention the not-a-villain part? Yeah, no, not necessarily the big scourge of NY. As in vigilante. Nameless. On the prowl, or something like that. You do chump work for free hot dogs and kisses from grannies, or whatever. Or at least you did, before that hot-shot fucker hero of the city SPIDER-MAN swooped in just as you were about to intercept a purse thief and roundhouse kicked you in the stomach! Yeah! Not good for PR! Suddenly all eyes were on fucking you!
The goal was to pop in and pop out, make some cash by emptying some loser petty criminal's pockets, who was maybe probably also strapped for cash but hey, they asked for it! The goal was NOT to end up plastered all over the city in your torn and run-down trench coat 'n ski mask throwing hands with FUCKING SPIDER-MAN.
It might not have been the most morally upstanding business, but when you're sneaking into the back of run-down pizza joints just to take a pat-down bath in decently warm-ish water that came out of fifty-year-old lead pipes, you take what you can get!
And that Spider, Man, fucking SPIDER-MAN, who's oh so loved by the people is a fucking sham! A fraud! How do you know? Because he started out just like you! He wasn't a good guy, not some hero, he was just some guy in a suit who did what he could. The people just looooved that, they ate it right up! But heaven forbid he share the streets with anyone, nooooo, not looking out for the little guys, are we Mr. Big-Shot?!
Thank god you've got a local white boy brainiac to buy you hotdogs and hide you in his apartment for five minutes because by god the cops have been on your ASS.
SO YEAH. Yeah. No apologies from Spider-SHAM. No apologies from them wanted criminal ads either. And definitely no apologies from that fucking comic they wrote where you get your ass beat when you clearly got a good couple fucking punches in! And really, really thank Pete that middle-class Mr. I'm going to NYU after my gap year building geeky science contraptions saw you looking sad, pathetic, and starving in that alleyway you dipped into after getting violently assaulted by ASS-MAN and chased by police dogs. It really sparked an unlikely friendship. Mr. Straight-laced-n-narrow 'n you. And the hotdogs? The 'I've got some spare change, wanna go get a glizzy" hotdogs? They were the best thing that SPIDER-MAN has ever done. Well, indirectly. He's still an ASS. Oh, and Peter? He's a peach. Always fussing over you, letting you talk your shit, definitely normal about your hatred for SPIDER-MAN. Pretty much everyone in all the five boroughs would never let you off the hook for saying some of the shit you say about him! Naw, you've got a compadre in Peter. He pats you on the back and says "Yeah, how awful that guy is- yeeeahh." and hands you some chips along with your hotdog to make it all better.
You almost feel bad for mooching off the guy, but no, he insists. Dunno what you did to deserve such an angel, but SPIDER-MAN, if you're out there, you better telepathically receive this FUCK-YOU.
Brother of my Brother (Infinite Crisis - Bad End) pt2
Tim Pov, and Prodigal flashback this chapter, because I love Prodigal Tim and Dick.
Part 1. Part 2. Part 3. Part 4.
Dick's body is still, cold and perfect on the autopsy table of the Batcave.
It looks so horribly wrong, like a puzzle piece crammed into the wrong place or an egregious bit of nonsense code in a command string. A blip of the universe.
Tim still remembers how Mary and John Grayson had looked as corpses. It had been a horrific, gory nightmare with hot blood pumping from their shattered bodies and their white bones visible in the air. Their son, warm and kind Dick Grayson, who just an hour or so earlier had pulled Tim into a hug that smelled of stage makeup and chalk dust and promised to do a quadruple somersault just for him, looking down at the sight that would haunt Tim's nightmares for years to come with empty, disbelieving eyes.
The first coherent thought Tim ever remembers having is, 'He was supposed to fall too', and a close second was this, "I won't let him fall too."
Staring at the near perfect corpse on the table, that used to be his- well, there wasn't really a word for it. Brother, hero, idol, and mentor all seemed trite and underwhelming for the person that was Tim's first memory, his reason for becoming a vigilante, his safety net; the person who had taught him how to fold laundry and talked Tim through everything from his teenage relationship drama to his struggles with being Robin.
Staring the corpse of a person who had made up so much of him, Tim feels hollowed out and unable to bear the heavy weight of his failure.
His mother, his father, Stephanie, and now Connor,
 . . . and now Dick.
. . .
. . .
No. No, Tim has to think. He's not a civilian, Dick's not a civilian. He's Nightwing, leader of the Titans and protector of Bludhaven, the prince regent of Gotham's night as the only other person who has done justice to Batman's cowl. He's been fighting crime longer than more than half the JLA, been to different dimensions and space and …
He's Robin. Dick's Robin, he can't be dead for good. What type of world would it be if fucking Jason Todd can come back, but Dick Grayson would stay dead?
Tim bites his tongue and steps closer to the table holding Nightwing's corpse and closer to Batman, still cowled and staring at his first son's cold body. The darkness of the cave and Batman's stillness make him even more inhuman appearing than usual, like he's a natural feature of the dank cave, a demon of shadows only visible out of the corner of your eye.
Neither of them, nor Alfred, have worked themselves up to removing Nightwing's mask.
Tim clears his throat, forces his voice to come out above a whisper, "The Lazarus Pits." He swallows, "I'm sure there are a couple the League of Assassins doesn't have control over that we can search out."
Nightwing in an unthinking rage would be terrifying, but between Crane's fear gas, Joker's venom, Ivy's pollen, and occasionally Bane's stuff they'd all been dosed up and compromised before. Not to mention, Nightwing's always been best out of all of them at staying calm and rational when dosed or altered like that.
A trained acrobat since birth, his fear response is to assess and rationally respond, and luckily his anger response to curl up and only lash out if prodded, it takes lot to get him to really attack.
(Not the heads in a duffel bag and midnight ambushes to write messages in blood type, unlike some people).
Tim looks down, more critically now. Nightwing's suit is torn and dusty and there is some faint visible bruising, but no large gaping wounds or grossly deformed bony structures. He mentally catalogues the damage, reaching out a hand to remove Dick's mask, "We should put him in one of the cryo freezers till then to prevent decomp-"
Batman's hand shoots out, grabbing Tim's wrist with a bruising strength, "The ray Alexander Luthor shot him with was a type of modified sonar. All his hollow internal organs and many of his blood vessels burst when he was hit. Despite the lack of outside damage, he's completely broken inside."
The grip on Tim's wrist gets harder and harder as Batman continues to speak, toneless, his face inhuman and unreadable behind the cowl.
"A Lazarus Pit can only revive someone from death with a near intact corpse, and whether it brings back the soul is still a matter of debate."
Tim feels something in wrist crack slightly, but the pain is secondary to the emptiness he feels as Batman shoots down his plans,
"Rob-, Dick Grayson is dead. He's not coming back. He's gone. We failed."
Batman lets go of him, He takes the hand that probably just cracked Tim's wrist and gently runs it through Dick's hair before carefully peeling the mask off of his son's face. Then with that same hand pulls off his own cowl. The expression on his face is . .
Tim steps back, his right wrist aching and his heart pounding with something, Maybe heartbreak, maybe fear.
He doesn't think Bruce notices. There is nothing in his eyes except the corpse, as if Batman and death are the only things in this cavern, as if Bruce wants nothing more to protectively cradle this dead body and his own grief till the very end of the world. It's the same way he stares at the bloody Robin uniform in the memorial case or his parents' portrait in the Manor, but so much worse.
Normally, Tim would try to stop him, because that's what Robin is. The light to Batman's darkness, the person that reminded him that they did this for the living as well as the dead. Normally, Tim would pull Batman back, and if he failed he'd run to Bludhaven to …
Robin is dead, there is no stopping Batman.
Tim leaves the Cave. All he can do now is search for the answer to his own grief.
---------------------------
Three years ago
Tim knows the situation, with Bruce and Alfred being gone from Gotham, and trust in Batman at an all-time low cause of all the stuff Azrael did in the cowl, is bad but there is still a sort of guilty, giddy excitement he feels in chest when Dick comes back with him to the manor to be his Batman.
Like yeah, the situation is really bad, but Dick Grayson is going to be his Batman, and Tim gets to be his Robin!
It has him near bouncing in place, even though Dick seemed gloomy, especially as he took in the state of the Alfred-less Manor all boarded up and dusty. Still he'd gotten straight to tidying the Manor up, as if Dick was determined to do the work of both Alfred and Bruce while the usual inhabitants were gone. He'd even let Tim help, tossing him a broom, and then later teaching him how to fold sheets.
Tim is concentrating, trying to get the fitted sheet he's pulled out of their latest laundry load into some sort of shape that not just a wrinkly ball when Dick strikes.
Too fast for Tim to see, he steps close and hooks his foot around Tim's right ankle. As Tim falls back, he must duck down because instead of hitting the ground Tim finds himself hoisted across Dick's back in a hold that feels like something between a fireman's carry and a pro-wrestler's move. The whole maneuver is so fast and fluid it barely even jars Tim, like this was something they'd choreographed and practiced a million times instead of an impromptu grab.
"Time for a break." Dick sing-songs, walking towards the door. "To the kitchen we go." His mood improved once they actually started working and there's a smile in his voice now that wasn’t there this morning.
Tim wiggles in the hold. It's not painful, not even uncomfortable like some of the pins he'd been subject to training with Bruce. Honestly, the gentle but firm grip (an acrobat's grip, someone who knew how to catch their flier) was far more reminiscent of the warm, chalk-dust scented hug Dick had given him during their first meeting as children. Tim is acutely aware of the feeling of being held, every spot of gentle pressure, each of his own muscles that want to relax into it.
Tim tries kicking his feet and twisting to break away, "Let me down! I can walk, you know." Both his movement and his words are ineffective, and Dick barely seems to notice as he continues on to the kitchen.
"Mmm, don’t think so. Think of it as training, just like you busting into my apartment to check on the security. I'm letting you know you need more practice guarding against sneak attacks."
From where his head is, Tim can just make out the corner of Dick's smile, a small comfortable curl of his lips, neither showy nor sharp. He looks so much happier than the bitterness and worry of this morning, and Tim fills up with a rush of pride.
He attempts kicking out again, putting more force into it, but Dick just readjusts his hold, "Not letting you go, Tim."
"I'll get you next time." Comes out of Tim's mouth, without him really meaning to say it. The warmth in his chest given vocal form. He's sorta means trying playful sneak attack of his own, but also sorta means he's not letting go in the other way, either. Never has since he was three and never will in a million years.
They finally reach the kitchen, and Dick sets him down with that same grin, "Sure, sure. Catch me if you can, Timmy."
Hello Bug!! I'm the anon who wrote the Christmas fanfic, and I'm so so glad you liked it!!! (I was actually super nervous about your reaction so all the positive things you said about it were very reassuring)
Gonna reread what you said about it so many times because it is such a source of serotonin
Anyway, you asked a few questions!!! which I would be happy to answer :)
Reference to the hypothermia fic?
Yes!!! Good job catching that!!
Both the old lady and the brother were intended to reference that fic. However what I didn't take into account while writing was that this would make Quinn and Temo related and my intention was to have a bunch of people Who Don't Necessarily Know Each Other coming together for a common goal
So YES they were both references but I'm gonna go with saying that the old lady was a different old lady but Temo's brother was indeed the kid from the hypothermia fic. if you want that to be canon that is
What's in the box?
I'm gonna be completely honest, the reason why I initially left it ambiguous was partially because I thought it'd be sweet to leave it open ended and partially because I. couldn't think of anything
I was gonna let you decide
BUT I have done some thinking and out of all the ideas I had, there's one I like the best. It's a new Vigil suit.
The nurse and all the kids gave a little bit of money to be able to afford it, the nurse with wages and the kids either with allowance or what they could persuade their families to lend them for a good cause. My idea is that Archie's original suit got super messed up (torn, stained et cetera) so they wanted to get him a shiny new one. The way they did this was by commissioning someone (who was willing to make it for half price because. cmon it's VIGIL) ahead of time so it would be ready for Christmas. All the kids have been patients at the hospital for at least a month, unfortunately. But FORTUNATELY, it gave them lots of time to plan this!!! Yes they have been planning this since before Archie was even shot. No they did not expect him to be shot. They actually had no idea how they were going to get the suit to him
The other gifts weren't planned though. They came up with those after the incident because they thought he deserved a little more :)
---
Alright!! Now that that's done, here's a little something extra
NATALIE Fifteen years old. Her favorite thing about Vigil is his kindness. It really is that simple. She loves how he's always been so openhearted and willing to help anyone who needs it. He's patient, compassionate and remarkably selfless. He saves people from disasters, but he also stays with them afterwards to make sure they're okay. She understands how thin he spreads himself, and she really appreciates it.
QUINN Five years old. Her favorite thing about Vigil is his bravery. She's absolutely amazed by how much he does every day. She notices how courageous he is, how strong someone has to be to do the things he does. When she grows up, she wants to be exactly like him.
CUAUHTEMOC (Temo) 10 years old. His favorite thing about Vigil is his resilience. No matter what happens, he's always back the next night. No matter how hard he's hit, he gets back up. Temo's life hasn't been a walk in the park, but Vigil gives him so much motivation to be strong. He's his idol. (He's been making crayon drawings of Vigil since Archie first started out as a vigilante. A lot of them are hung up in his room)
ESPERANZA 7 years old. Her favorite thing about Vigil is his enthusiasm. She can tell how passionate he is about helping people. He reminds her a lot of her late older sister — someone who seemed to put everything she was into what she loved. Vigil is brave, and he's willing to keep going no matter how hard it gets, but he's also happy. Esperanza wants to achieve that happiness someday. She's a little worried about him, though, which is why she has so much appreciation for the people who return the favor and go out of their way to help him. People like Simon.
THE NURSE (whom I have spontaneously decided is named Fred) 35 years old. His favorite thing about Vigil is the happiness he leaves behind. The kids who get to go home to their parents. The lovers who would have died, but instead they're strolling down the street hand-in-hand. It's the kind of thing that can never be truly repaid. But Vigil deserves a city that tries.
And here's a collective note they left for when their beloved hero woke up (Fred wrote Quinn's addition, but she drew the smiley face and signed her name) "Hi Vigil! I hope you like our gifts. Thank you so much for everything. -Natalie" "We love you Vigil!!! Get well soon 😄 -Quinn" "You probably get this a lot but you're my hero, Vigil. DP x DC prompt where Bruce and Tim go to investigate Amity Park, with Jason in tow, all suited up. They’ve heard a strange claim about “ghosts” there, and trying to research the town revealed a concerning government presence and tampered records.
The moment they enter the town, the ectoplasm in the air starts rapidly filtering out the corrupted ectoplasm in Jason’s system and strengthening his underdeveloped core (kinda like To Join the Whispers). Jason doesn’t tell Bruce or Tim at first since he’s kind of freaking out about how the Pit is responding to the town. Then Jason’s arm goes through a table and they don’t really have any idea what is happening and are now all freaking out about it. Danny sees this happen and immediately recognizes the same sudden, uncontrollable power displays he had after the Accident.
Danny is extremely torn because he wants to help (a new halfa?? or something close enough??? and he’s a vigilante???? hell yeah), but he’s also Terrified of Batman going anywhere near his fucking house. So he introduces himself as Phantom and tries his best to steer them away from FentonWorks while also trying to help talk Red Hood through everything and dump a lot of ghost facts on them. Going to see Frostbite is extremely tempting, but Danny’s pretty sure he can handle this. Pretty sure. (He does Not want Batman near the portal, since it means being in his gd house, and he doubts he can get Red Hood there without Batman following.)
The bats didn’t even know who Phantom was until they arrived in Amity and they’re all a Little concerned that this random, powerful ghost child is this excited about Jason essentially going through ghost puberty in record time. It’s even more concerning that Phantom doesn’t seem at all surprised that a human can be part ghost in any way, which means either Phantom is somehow human himself (somehow) or that this is just not a new occurrence in this town.
They came here to figure out wtf was happening in Amity, and Phantom’s raising about 50 more questions by the second. Bruce sees Phantom take down a mutant ghost bear ripping through town and now he’s pretty sure this ghost child (who may or may not be partially alive??) is a load-bearing feature of the town. He’s not a fan of that. Bruce is even more concerned that, upon mentioning the government presence in town, Phantom says the GIW is causing more problems for the town and is actively hunting him.
Jason’s just... having a time. He’s never felt so zen and anxious at the same time. He wants to feel skeptical about Phantom and what’s going on, but being anywhere near the kid makes him feel like he’s hanging out with his best friend since childhood, wrapped in a warm blanket and safe as can be. (And the Pit is quiet and his mind feels Clear.)
The only reason the bats didn’t attack Phantom and drag Jason away in the first place is because Jason doesn’t Want to leave and jumped to defending the kid oddly quick. They tried to drag Jason out of town but he’s turning partly-intangible now whenever someone touches him and they physically can’t.
Danny’s pretty much adopted Red Hood as his new brother and even if he doesn’t trust Batman as far as he can throw him (far), he feels like he’s doing a pretty good job juggling mentoring Red Hood and managing to derail Batman’s investigation at the same time. Tucker helped lure the Drs. Fenton out of town with a fake ghost hunting convention, and the online information for anything in Amity is so butchered (between Tucker, Technus, and the GIW each having their turn at tampering) that the bats are having to rely mostly on word of mouth for their investigation.
He’s not doing quite as good of a job as he thinks he is, though. All it took was Phantom badmouthing the FentonWorks building once in passing for Bruce to look into it. They try to break into the place the moment they think Phantom’s gone-- only the house has some Surprisingly violent security systems and Phantom appears out of no where and drags them away.
They plan to go back the next day, cause there’s definitely Something there and they’re pretty sure it’s the answers they need. (Even just looking at the weird structure on the roof pretty much promises that.)
Only... Jason’s developing core (which isn’t fully formed and is soaking up the ectoplasm in Amity like a sponge) turns out to be an electric core. It starts going Buckwild with pent up energy, and Danny is having None of that. He goes from being very happy and excited to just-- terrified and flighty.
Random sparks of electricity around the kid with the Worst track record with that stuff? Yeah, no thanks.
Danny races home and just paces endlessly, confiding in Jazz that he doesn’t know what to do and wants to help and feels awful for bailing on them-- but he doesn’t feel capable handling someone with electricity sparking off of them like water off a duck. He thinks they need Frostbite’s help, which means letting Batman into FentonWorks, which means opening himself up to the possibility (probability) of Batman finding out more about the Fentons, Danny Fenton specifically, and Phantom.
The bats are panicking because, skeptical of Phantom or not, he was the only person providing them with answers and trying to help. Jason’s stressed to high hell without the calming feeling of Phantom nearby-- AND electricity now jolting from his hands uncontrollably on top of everything. The electricity is just coming and going at random, with him having no control over it.
They go to FentonWorks, their only lead, and this time a girl with red hair answers the door. She’s clearly stressed out about something-- and she has Phantom in her house, looking dejected and still very terrified as he keeps his distance. Why Phantom is in a house that is clearly stacked to the nines with ghost hunting equipment is... suspicious.
Jason’s powers act up almost immediately after entering the house-- causing some very scary damage to the nearest light fixture-- and Jazz is like “yeah no, we need to fix this Now” and marches them straight to the portal. The entire time she’s trying to explain her parents’ work and how they have friends through this portal that can help, and it’s Quite the sell to make on the fly.
They walk past a few family pictures on the wall on the way to the lab and it’s all Tim needs to see to be like “Soooo Phantom is definitely your brother-- hey um why is your brother a ghost??” He expresses this aloud and the way Danny tries to stammer and hide it is as good of confirmation as anything.
And then they see the state of the lab. All of the ghost-hunting weapons just lying around, and the giant portal to hell-- and how Phantom is still visibly keeping his distance from the sparks coming off of Jason. There’s just building rage in Bruce as he’s putting together the parental negligence and trauma. He wants to grill the two kids about their parents (why do they have all of these ghost hunting weapons when their kid is some sort of ghost?? WHY is their kid some sort of ghost???), but now he’s faced with a teenaged girl trying to convince him to go through a mysterious ghost portal to bring his kid to some strange ghost doctor.
Jason is leery as can be of the portal (it Looks a bit too like the Lazarus Pit, and it definitely feels like death), but this girl-- Jazz-- doesn’t seem afraid of going through the portal and is making it very clear she’ll just go into this “Ghost Zone” without them and grab this doctor if she has to. The thought of the girl diving through the portal by herself (and the sparks still flying off of him, making a mess of the lab equipment), is enough incentive to get Jason to go with.
Transporting Jason is... problematic, though. He would absolutely destroy the Specter Speeder if he rides in it. They eventually settle on Danny dragging Jason through the zone by a line (wearing a giant pair of rubber gloves on top of his gloves because he is not playing around).
By the time they get to the Far Frozen, the situation is sort of... solving itself? Being in the Ghost Zone has filtered out the last of the Pit's gunk from Jason and his malformed core is settling down now that it doesn't have good ectoplasm competing with sludge. He still doesn't really have control over the electricity, and feels a bit overwhelmed with energy, but it's no longer firing on all cinders.
Frostbite's pretty bothered by meeting Jason. He recognizes him as something similar to Danny (Bruce isn't going to let the "Great One" nicknamed Phantom has slide also; hoo boy that's another for the Giant List), but... Off. He has a core but it's-- small. Delicate. It was dormant until he entered Amity, and even now it doesn't really have the power or even shape a normal ghost core should.
Frostbite is able to help with the electricity, at least, by just explaining that now that his core has formed (in what capacity it can) Jason has to be careful about pent up energy to avoid it striking out. That the electricity feeds easily off of available energy and, especially if his emotions are high, will lash out if it overflows. He has Jason let out a lot of energy in a secluded space and it feels immensely cathartic.
Jason is still not allowed into the Specter Speeder on the way back to FentonWorks.
Returning to FentonWorks (with Jason's condition stabilized after his GZ spa cleanse) opens the door for a very careful interrogation of the Fenton siblings. Each answer or non-answer they give is more concerning than the last. The straw that breaks the camel's back is learning that the portal itself killed Danny and that his parents are not in any way aware he's (half) dead because of the ever-real risk his parents will hurt him if they find out.
They haven’t even mentioned Vlad. There’s still so much.
Bruce is already mentally signing the adoption papers. Tim and Jason have accepted they're getting two new siblings and are warning the family (and Jason's planning to be as careful as he can with these new powers so he doesn't freak Danny out because knowing Why it was freaking Danny out has him wanting to wear his own pair of rubber gloves and strangle their parents with them).
Danny is just a little shellshocked that these people are nicer than he thought and are willing to help him and not make his life worse.
Also notes: Jason wouldn't have a full roster of halfa abilities. No secondary form (though the white hair tuft prob glows more, and his eyes turn green more often), probably no true flight, and no ectoblasts. He mostly gets a grasp on the electricity and intangibility, and can use invisibility sparingly. The pranks he and Danny (and later Dani) get up to are the stuff of legend.
DP AU where Danny is red-green colorblind and isn’t aware of what color ectoplasm is
Scenario 1: Danny’s blood as a human is green and he’s in no way aware of this. He’s lucked out and not been injured while human since the Accident, but one day he gets a cut at school and has NO idea why everyone is freaking out
Scenario 2: Danny trying to tell his mom he “just had a nosebleed” when his face and sweatshirt are stained green after getting punched in the face by Skulker. Maddie just staring at him in abject horror, Jazz in the background making panicked hand gestures
Scenario 3: Phantom bleeds red, and Danny can’t tell why the townspeople are freaking out about it cause he assumes it looks just like normal ectoplasm.
Scenario 4: Danny names Cujo Clifford because he thinks he’s red and Sam and Tucker just let it happen because they think it’s funny
DP x DC prompt where Danny is a young adult living in Gotham.
He's 24 and has been Ghost King since turning 18. Danny has been estranged from his parents ever since he destroyed their portal. It was his first act as king.
Danny shares an apartment with Sam and Tucker. Sam works with nonprofits in the city, while Tucker gets involved in WE with his genius programming skills.
Danny makes ice sculptures and sells them around Gotham for fun. He sometimes helps out with crime when he thinks he can do it quietly, but otherwise Danny lets Batman and the police handle it. He has enough work to do in the Ghost Zone as it is.
In his free time Danny likes to explore the Ghost Zone. He’s long-since given up dreams of exploring space. Danny can always fly to space if he wants to, but being able to rip open a portal to the Infinite Realms offers even more exploration opportunities than his child self could have dreamed of.
It’s during one of these explorations into the Ghost Zone that Danny finds a teenager sitting on a floating island. Danny rushes over to investigate, noticing that the kid looks very much alive, but as he draws near the kid’s arm turns invisible and he begins to panic.
Danny quickly realizes he’s faced with another halfa. The kid is a wreck. He looks barely older than Danny was when he died-- hell, he even looks like him with his black hair (with a shock of white) and blue eyes. It’s like looking into a mirror for Danny, and he immediately decides to take the kid under his wing.
It’s slow going at first. The kid, Jason, doesn’t remember much of his life, let alone his death. He’s scared and confused, with far too many questions. It takes Danny showing him his human form for Jason to trust Danny enough to go with him.
Danny takes Jason back to the apartment and introduces him to Sam and Tucker. They don’t pester him for answers, and instead jump at the chance to answer any questions Jason has. They help him understand his situation and learn about his new powers.
Over the next year, Jason becomes their kid. The trio homeschool him, with some help from several of the ghosts in in the GZ. They offer to help Jason figure out who he was, but he asks them not to. All Jason can remember of his death is that it was very violent and he’s hesitant to fill those memories in.
If Jason ever remembers more than that, he doesn’t tell them.
Jason’s a handful, but he’s their handful. He spends a lot of his time in the Ghost Zone (annoying Danny’s ghost friends, his adopted aunts and uncles) while they’re at work. Whenever Dani’s in town, the two are a force to be reckoned with.
Danny spends a lot of time visiting WE to annoy Tucker. He also becomes somewhat well known around town for his little ice sculptures. More than once, Danny finds himself in the accidental company of Bruce Wayne.
Bruce is curious about the strange young man. He has a lot of scars, and Bruce can’t make heads or tails of the strange ice he sells. He starts talking to him-- Danny-- to try and figure out if he’s a meta and/or potentially dangerous.
What Bruce figures out instead is that the kid is surprisingly quick-witted and funny. He’s also apparently a dad, raising a kid with his partners. Bruce still suspects that Danny might secretly be a meta, but he develops a pleasant rapport with him. They commiserate together about raising kids over coffee. Two unlikely friends.
Danny never mention’s Jason’s name. He has about a hundred nicknames for the kid and often calls him Magpie (partly due to his black and white hair, and partly due to his habit of bringing home random shit from the Ghost Zone). He’s very wary of using the kid’s real name around Gotham, in any case. They try to keep a low profile where Jason is concerned.
Bruce also never mentions Jason. His loss is still too much of a gaping wound and he doesn’t want to unload that on his young friend, let alone wallow in those memories.
One day Danny is wandering Gotham with Jason in tow, running some errands. They stop by WE to drop something off for Tucker and he spots Bruce. Danny decides it’s about time he introduced his kid to the man.
Time seems to stop when Jason and Bruce lock eyes.
DP x DC prompt where Jason and Danny both feel intensely protective of each other-- because they each register the other as a child ghost.
Jason doesn’t fully understand what the feeling means. He just knows that he takes one look at Danny and feels the need to scoop him under his wing like a mother hen and never let him go. The ectoplasm in his body is just screaming “THIS IS A CHILD PROTECT THEM”, but he just thinks it’s some of Bruce’s adoption tendencies rubbing off on him. He’s a little pissed about it but, oh well, guess he’s a dad now.
Danny has a better understanding of what’s going on. Kind of. He just knows that this human has a lot of ectoplasm and a very rudimentary core that probably needs treatment. He pretty much smells like he’s been freshly spat out by the Ghost Zone, still wobbling around on shaky baby ghost legs. His Obsession is just screaming at him to “please for the love of the Ancients protect and guide this newbie”
Danny very clearly has no parental support. Jason very clearly has no idea he’s ghostly. Both decide it’s their responsibility to fix this.
Danny starts living with him and Jason slowly integrates fatherly tendencies into their relationship. Danny, just as slowly, broaches more and more ghostly topics with Jason, like he’s trying not to spook a baby deer. They’re both convinced they’re the guardian in this situation.
My #1 post of 2022
DP x DC prompt where Danny winds up in Gotham and, after expressing that he’s all alone and just wandering the city aimlessly, he finds himself adopted by Bruce-- as Phantom.
Because if you’ve already adopted a bunch of kids, why not throw a ghost into the mix?
Danny just goes along with it, nervous but not really having any other options. If Bruce Wayne wants to adopt a ghost and feed him, why not humor the man? If they figure out he’s not actually a full ghost, he can always skip town and they’ll never see him again.
Only... Danny’s not sure how he keeps up the charade as long as he does. The moment he finds out he’s not only been adopted by Bruce Wayne, but the Batman, Danny’s just waiting for the inevitable. Surely, Batman will eventually find out who he is.
But it just... doesn’t happen. The family doesn’t really have any reason to assume that a ghost is somehow still alive. They assumed he might be a meta at first, but the kid literally has no pulse and doesn’t breathe. And sure, Danny disappears sometimes (to sleep) and it’s a little weird he eats-- but he also speaks in tongues and can fly through the ceiling, so what do they know? Constantine’s been no help, claiming he “doesn’t want to touch this situation with a ten foot pole”, so they’re just sort of figuring out ghost brother shenanigans on the fly.
They’re more curious who Danny was while living, but (due to a mixture of ghostly interference in Amity, Tucker purging files, the GIW fucking with Amity Park’s exposure to the outside world, and Danny giving them no answers), the bats haven’t been able to find jackshit about Phantom and it’s a bit of a sore spot where egos are concerned. There’s a secret race going on to find info on Phantom first. Danny is aware of it and thinks it’s very endearing and funny. He also desperately wants one of them to succeed already.
The longer it takes for them to (not) figure it out, Danny gets more and more annoyed. At the very start he wanted to keep his identity a secret-- new place, new people, how was he supposed to know how they’d react?-- but he quickly grew enamored with the family and now trusts them. Besides, they’ve already accepted him as a ghost so, really, what’s there to lose? He’s pretty sure one of his new brothers is like 1/4 ghost anyway.
Now Danny’s just been waiting-- begging-- for them to figure it out. He could just tell them. It would be so easy, but god he’s so committed to this now. Why is this taking so long.
It really starts to come to a head once the family develops non-ghost related nicknames for Danny. Jason in particular likes to joke about how Danny has severely broken the “blue-eyed, black-haired” mold and gives him nicknames like “Wildcard”, “Dove”, and “Uno Reverse”.
Danny is about ready to snap.
One day, a few of them are about to head out on a mission and Danny asks to tag along. Jason jokingly says, “Sorry Dove, black hair club only.”
Danny just transforms on the spot, keeping his face comically neutral (as much as he can while watching his new family have a collective breakdown.)
“How about now?”
Mine and my bestie’s spidersonas. Designed by me. They occupied my head. I cant stop thinking about them 😭😭
I also have an introduction for my sona, like those that other spiders have
Alright, folks, let’s do this one last time! My name is Val and for the past 4 years I’ve been the one and only Spider-Woman, protecting New Petersburg.
Back then, when I was 14, I couldn’t even imagine becoming a hero. What I also couldn’t imagine is that the Alchemax would hunt me down, I would befriend a mercenary and eventually go to another dimensions. What puberty does to one, huh?
But let’s get back to the beginning. We have a teenager growing up in a family torn apart, on whose shoulders too much responsibility has fallen at once. Long story short, divorced parents, a workaholic mom and an unbearable brother. What a great starter pack!
Then there was that one field trip, blah blah don’t touch prototype species blah blah. How could I know that the spider was quiet alive and well.. venomous? Curiosity killed the cat. And so it killed me… Just kidding! I ended up lying on my granny’s couch for three days, feeling like I was going to die. But after that granny’s grocery bags weighed nothing for me, so it’s a win-win ^^.
As a silly girl, I thought, “Wow, those PE classes are finally starting to give results!” Well, it that wasn’t quite right… No PE class can make a teen be able to stop cars on the move in order to save a kid on the road, y’know? At that moment I realized that I couldn’t get off so easily.
After being filmed in the middle of “an epic rescue scene” and posted on Youtube, it finally dawned on me that I should keep my identity in secret unless I wanted my head off. That’s how Spider-Woman was born! Or the Spider vigilante. Or a freak in a spider suit. Or a blunderer in blue. The press can be really creative when they want to.
Because of those videos Alchemax kinda tried to kidnap me and bite my ass off for stealing their experimental spider. Lol. Not that I did it on purpose.
Considering all of that, befriending a psycho in a black and red suit with loads of guns doesn’t seem so crazy!
I know it’s too long for a movie like introduction, but I initially wrote it more as my sona’s backstory in general. So here it is.
I have some ideas for the second spider, my friend’s one, so her story is to be done too. Eventually
