Bordeaux: Days 1-4

#I swear I’m not completely nocturnal #I just like to get up early (6 am-ish) to run #and the sun doesn’t start coming up until around 8:30 here #which is cool with me #less cool is the whole ‘jet lag = no appetite’ thing that always happens with me #so I’ve just been going to a different boulangerie/café every day after I finish at the Archive de la Gironde #and buy myself a treat #because that’s pretty much all I can handle for the day and I know from #experience that that’s the way to go in France #I still need to do holiday shopping #and one more day at the archive #b/c they can’t find the entire ‘Culte et Collection Juife’ and claim all the call numbers are defective #which means all I’ve been able to photograph is the ‘Intendent: Juif’ collection #not terrifying at all #I’m not great at being forceful in English #which means I’m even worse in French #but I have to beg them to look again tomorrow #not the stones #me stuff #france #bordeaux #also got Vietnamese food #b/c it’s always so damn good in France #Bò Tái Chanh for the win

The universally hates old people crowd truly does not understand how much of our society is run by old retired ladies working what ought to be a 40-hour a week paid position with benefits for free. You have no idea how much knowledge would be lost if everyone over the age of 60 just disappeared right now.

#My church put out a call to get more volunteers working at our cemetery #it's a fairly big old Episcopalian church so we got a big ass cemetery #so I had a meeting with these two old ladies #and like I can give one day a week to this thing. they have been spending years doing this as their full-time volunteer work #just transcribing and archiving and organizing #they're incredible!#and so lovely!

i know the whole "do you think jon ever used his powers to Know what his parents looked like" thing is far more devastating than this but what if he tried using his powers to remember original sasha? jon and sasha always seemed closer than the rest, he picked her (and tim) to work with him and tolerated a lot more nonsense from her than anyone else (using his password to access his computer [161], debating his pronunciation of calliope [25], etc)

and ofc jon and martin became significantly closer as the podcast went on, but in the beginning he was cruel to martin when he gave a statement but accepting of sasha? idk i think their friendship was a lot deeper than we realized (ESPECIALLY since his first murder in season 5 was because NotThem provoked him about sasha) and i think jon wouldve used his powers to Know the original sasha, not sure if it wouldve worked though

so so sorry to distract from the post but can yall read the tags for me because i suffered immensely for this post
