!!TW: Yandere, Blood, threats and Violence, Isolation, Stalking, if there's any more tell me please!!
It was your first day back after everything that had happened. It felt strange to see people returning as if it were just another normal day. But, in a way, maybe it was just a memory now, something that everyone would eventually forget.
At least you still had Lin. She was probably the only one who stayed by your side after you were accused of being a murderer. Lin was the sweetest person you knew—if you were being honest, she was likely the only reason you hadn’t been kicked out of this shithole.
As you walked into the school, your eyes scanned the hallway, searching for her familiar blonde hair. When your gaze finally landed on your best friend, a wide smile spread across your face, and you quickly made your way toward her.
“Lin! How was camp?” you asked, sitting down beside her. It was then that you noticed two other girls—one with black hair and another with striking black and blue hair—sitting nearby. “Who are they?”
Lin glanced at them before turning back to you with a smile. “These are some friends I made at camp. Y/N, I think you’d like them—they have a lot in common with you.”
You raised an eyebrow, glancing between Lin and her new friends. The girl with black hair had a sharp, confident look about her, her arms crossed as she leaned back in her chair. Meanwhile, the girl with black and blue hair gave a small smile, fiddling with a bracelet around her wrist.
Lin, ever the mediator, gestured toward them enthusiastically. “This is Rae,” she said, nodding toward the black-haired girl, “and this is Skye.”
“Nice to meet you,” Skye said softly, her voice calm and measured. She had a certain energy about her, like she was quietly observing everything around her.
“Hey,” Rae said shortly, with a nod in your direction, her tone neutral but not unfriendly.
You couldn’t help but feel a little cautious. It wasn’t every day Lin brought new people into your tight-knit bubble, and after everything that had happened, trusting people didn’t come easy. Still, you forced a polite smile.
“Nice to meet you both,” you replied, your voice steady but guarded. “So, what’s this camp you all went to? Lin wouldn’t stop talking about it before the summer.”
“It was a wilderness camp,” Skye explained, her eyes lighting up slightly. “Lots of hiking, survival skills, late-night campfires. It was… peaceful.”
“Peaceful if you ignore the mosquitos,” Rae added dryly, earning a laugh from Lin. “But yeah, it was cool. We kind of stuck together through the whole thing.”
Lin beamed. “We were like a little trio by the end of it. I’m so glad they could come visit—” She paused, her expression faltering for just a moment as her eyes darted to you. “I figured… you could use some extra friends.”
The air between you grew heavier for a split second before you nodded, trying to ease the tension. “That’s thoughtful of you, Lin. Thanks.”
Rae raised an eyebrow. “Why does it sound like Lin’s playing matchmaker here?”
Lin laughed nervously, brushing a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. “I’m not! I just thought… you guys might get along, that’s all.”
You couldn’t tell if Rae was joking or not, but you decided to steer the conversation elsewhere. “So, any plans while you’re here? Or are we just winging it?”
Skye smiled faintly. “Winging it sounds good to me. I’m not really one for schedules.”
“Same,” Rae added, smirking. “But if there’s anything fun to do around here, let me know. This town feels... quiet.”
You chuckled, though the laugh felt hollow. “Yeah, quiet’s one way to put it.”
For a moment, the four of you sat there, the hum of the school around you filling the silence. You couldn’t help but wonder how long this fragile normalcy would last.
“Hey, Y/N,” Lin said suddenly, leaning closer. “They know.”
You stiffened. “Know what?”
“About… what happened.” Her voice was barely a whisper, but the weight of her words hit you like a truck.
Your eyes darted to Rae and Skye, who both watched you carefully. Neither of them looked shocked or disgusted—just curious.
“Lin told us,” Rae said, her voice calm. “Not everything, just… enough.”
Skye nodded. “We’re not here to judge. We just want to know your side.”
Your heart raced. You weren’t sure what scared you more—the idea of telling them the truth or the possibility they’d already made up their minds.
“Well,” you said, taking a deep breath, “I guess that depends. Do you believe I did it?”
The conversation shifted after that, but you couldn’t shake the unease crawling up your spine. Something about the way Rae and Skye looked at you felt… off. Their expressions were friendly enough, but there was an intensity in their eyes, like they were studying you too closely. You brushed it off—Lin wouldn’t have brought them here if they weren’t trustworthy, right?
Still, as the day went on, you couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching you. It started with little things: noticing shadows where there shouldn’t have been any, the faint sound of footsteps behind you that stopped every time you turned around.
By lunch, it got worse.
You were sitting with Lin, Rae, and Skye in the courtyard when your phone buzzed. It wasn’t unusual for someone to text you, but this… this was different.
Unknown Number: That’s a cute sweater today. Green looks good on you.
Your blood ran cold. You glanced around the courtyard, heart pounding as you scanned the faces of passing students. Who the hell was watching you?
“You okay?” Lin asked, tilting her head.
You forced a smile and quickly locked your phone. “Yeah, just a spam text or something.”
Rae raised an eyebrow, but she didn’t say anything. Skye, on the other hand, was focused on something behind you.
“What about her?” Skye asked suddenly, gesturing toward a girl sitting alone under the big oak tree. She had dark brown hair that fell over her face as she scribbled in a notebook.
Rae turned to look and shrugged. “Oh, her? I’ve never seen her before.”
“She was actually here last year,” Lin chimed in, her tone a little hesitant. “I think her name’s Mia? She’s quiet, though. Keeps to herself.”
Skye hummed thoughtfully. “Maybe we should ask her to join us.”
Lin blinked, clearly surprised. “Really? I mean, sure, but… she doesn’t seem like the type to want company.”
“She might surprise you,” Rae said, smirking. “Sometimes people just need a little push.”
You didn’t like the way they were talking about Mia, like she was some kind of project. Something about it felt… wrong. But before you could say anything, your phone buzzed again.
Unknown Number: She looks lonely, doesn’t she? Maybe you should ask her to join you before they do.
Your breath hitched. Your eyes darted toward Mia, then back to Skye and Rae. Could they be the ones texting you? But how would they even have your number?
“Y/N?” Lin’s voice snapped you out of your thoughts. “You’re quiet. Everything okay?”
“Yeah,” you lied, shoving your phone into your bag. “Just tired.”
Lin didn’t seem convinced, but she let it go. Rae and Skye, however, exchanged a glance that made your stomach churn.
By the time school ended, the texts were coming in faster:
Unknown Number: Heading home already?Unknown Number: Careful crossing the street. You wouldn’t want another accident, would you?Unknown Number: You didn’t tell them, did you? About what really happened?
You gripped your phone so hard your knuckles turned white. Whoever this was—they knew everything. They knew about the accusation, about what happened last year. They were the reason you got blamed for something you didn’t do.
Your mind raced as you walked home, taking different routes and doubling back to make sure no one was following you. But the feeling of being watched never left.
When you finally reached your house, you slammed the door shut and locked it behind you. Your hands were shaking as you pulled out your phone to block the number, but before you could, another text came through:
Unknown Number: Blocking me won’t stop this. You’ll see me soon.
The texts didn’t stop, and neither did the unease. You told yourself you were imagining things, but it didn’t help. Skye and Rae’s constant attention didn’t help either.
It started small: Rae would always ask where you were going, and Skye would show up even when you hadn’t told her your plans. At first, it seemed like they were being friendly, but over time, their presence felt suffocating.
But worse than that was the girl in the background. Mia.
You kept seeing her—at lunch, in the hallways, at the park. She was quiet, almost unnoticeable, but once you started paying attention, you realized she was always nearby. She didn’t try to talk to you, didn’t even look at you most of the time. But she was there.
Your phone buzzed again as you sat in the library, trying to focus on homework.
Unknown Number: You’re doing your math wrong. You forgot to carry the one.
Your head shot up, heart pounding. You looked around, but the library was nearly empty. The only people in the room were a couple of students sitting far away—and Mia, sitting at a table near the back, her head bent over her notebook.
The first strange incident happened later that week.
You were walking home with Lin when she stopped abruptly, staring at something ahead.
“Isn’t that Skye?” she asked.
You followed her gaze. Skye was standing at the corner, staring at your house. She didn’t seem to notice you at first, but when you called her name, she jumped slightly and turned toward you with a smile.
“Hey!” she said, walking over quickly. “I was just… passing by.”
Lin frowned. “You live on the other side of town.”
Skye shrugged, brushing off the comment. “Just wanted to make sure you got home safe.”
It was odd, but you didn’t want to be rude. “Thanks, I guess.”
As the three of you walked toward your house, your phone buzzed again.
Unknown Number: She’s lying. Don’t let her in.
The first murder happened the next day.
Jason. He wasn’t a friend, but you’d spoken to him enough to feel a pang of guilt when you heard the news. He was found near the woods behind the school, and the details of his death were… gruesome.
Your stomach turned as the whispers began.
“Did you hear what happened?” “They said he was killed last night.” “I heard they’re looking for suspects.”
The hallways felt heavier, darker. Skye and Rae stuck close to you, their presence both comforting and unnerving.
At lunch, Skye leaned closer, her voice low. “Don’t worry about what people are saying. You’ve got us, okay?”
Rae nodded, her gaze sharp. “Yeah. Anyone who tries to mess with you will regret it.”
You forced a smile, but something about their words didn’t sit right.
As you walked home that evening, your phone buzzed again.
Unknown Number: It’s starting.
You spun around, looking for anyone nearby. The street was empty, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was watching.
And then you saw her.
Mia was across the street, leaning against a tree. Her notebook was open, and she was writing furiously. When your eyes met, she closed the notebook and walked away without a word.
The next few days were tense. Everywhere you went, people were whispering about Jason. And then there were the texts.
Unknown Number: They’re going to blame you.Unknown Number: They already think you’re a killer.
The paranoia was eating away at you. Even Lin seemed more distant, though she tried to hide it. Skye and Rae were the only ones who stayed close, but their protectiveness felt almost… obsessive.
“I don’t like how people are treating you,” Rae said one day, her tone sharp. “They don’t know you like we do.”
“They’re just scared,” Skye added. “But we’ll keep you safe.”
Their words didn’t comfort you. If anything, they made you feel worse.
The second murder happened that weekend.
Sarah. She’d always been nice to you, always smiled in the hallways. Now, her name was the latest headline.
Your phone buzzed the morning after her body was found.
Unknown Number: Another one. Do you see the pattern yet?
You couldn’t take it anymore. You called Lin, your voice shaking. “I need to talk to you.”
She agreed to meet you at the park. When you got there, she was waiting with Skye and Rae.
“What’s going on?” Lin asked, concern etched on her face.
You hesitated, glancing at Skye and Rae. “I… I’ve been getting these texts.”
“What kind of texts?” Rae asked, her tone sharper than you expected.
You pulled out your phone, showing them the messages. Lin’s eyes widened, but Skye and Rae exchanged a glance that sent a chill down your spine.
“Why didn’t you tell us sooner?” Skye asked.
“I didn’t know if I could trust—” You stopped yourself, realizing how it sounded.
Rae’s expression darkened. “You think we’re the ones sending them?”
“No, I just—”
“Guys, stop,” Lin said, stepping between you. “This isn’t helping.”
But the tension didn’t fade. Skye and Rae’s protectiveness had turned into something more—something dangerous.
The following days blurred together in a haze of fear and suspicion. Skye and Rae grew even more protective—watching everyone you interacted with, questioning even the smallest details. You wanted to believe they were just trying to help, but their intensity felt overwhelming.
Then, there was Mia.
Everywhere you turned, she was there: sitting in the back of the classroom, her eyes darting between her notebook and you; lingering in the hallways as you passed by; even showing up at the park when you thought you’d be alone.
You tried to convince yourself it was a coincidence. Maybe she was shy, or maybe she just didn’t know how to approach people. But then the texts started mentioning her.
Unknown Number: She’s always watching. Don’t you see it?Unknown Number: Ask her what’s in the notebook.
The thought sent a chill down your spine. You didn’t want to confront Mia. What if she really was behind all of this?
A week later, everything came to a head.
It was late, and the school was quiet as you stayed behind to finish an overdue project in the library. The empty halls felt oppressive, the silence unnerving. Skye had offered to wait for you, but you’d insisted you were fine.
As you gathered your things to leave, you heard a faint noise—a shuffle, like footsteps. Your heart raced as you turned, but no one was there.
Your phone buzzed.
Unknown Number: Don’t go home yet. It’s not safe.
The hairs on the back of your neck stood up. You clutched your bag tightly, glancing around. The lights flickered, casting eerie shadows across the shelves.
And then you saw her.
Mia stood at the far end of the library, her notebook in hand. She didn’t move, didn’t speak. She just stared at you.
You froze, your breath hitching. “Mia?”
She didn’t respond. Instead, she slowly turned and walked away, disappearing into the shadows.
You didn’t stick around to find out where she went.
The next morning, the news broke: Rae was dead.
Her body had been found in the alley behind a local coffee shop. The details were horrifying, but the part that scared you the most was the timing.
The murder had happened late last night—around the same time you’d seen Mia at the library.
The police came to school that day, questioning everyone who had known Rae. You tried to keep calm, but the weight of their questions was suffocating. And then the whispers started again.
“She was the last one to see Rae.” “It’s just like last year.” “She’s cursed.”
Skye was the only one who defended you, her voice sharp as she shut down the rumors. But even she seemed… different. The loss of Rae had shaken her, and her usual confidence was replaced by a desperate edge.
The days following Rae’s murder had been a blur of confusion and fear. Skye was still glued to your side, ever protective, ever watchful. But you couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn’t right. As much as you tried to convince yourself everything would be okay, the sensation of being constantly watched never went away.
Skye had insisted that she stay with you for a few more days, just until things calmed down. At first, you’d been grateful for her company—her presence made the house feel less empty, less suffocating. But as the days dragged on, you began to feel trapped in your own home. It wasn’t her fault, not really. But her constant proximity, the way she hovered, began to wear you down. It was like she couldn’t let you out of her sight.
Tonight, though, you had a plan. You were going to leave. Just for a little while. You needed space.
You didn’t want to be rude, but when Skye stepped out for a quick errand, you seized the opportunity. You slipped out the door, grabbing your things and heading toward the park for a few hours of breathing room. The cool evening air hit your skin, a welcome reprieve from the suffocating atmosphere inside. You needed to clear your mind.
But as you walked, your phone buzzed.
Unknown Number: You’re leaving? I thought you wanted to stay with me.
You stopped in your tracks, dread creeping over you. You quickly turned around and headed back to the house, faster now, your heart pounding in your chest.
You had barely opened the door when the smell hit you. It wasn’t just the usual stale air—it was something darker, more metallic.
“Mia?” you called out hesitantly.
You stepped into the hallway, your senses going on high alert. You didn’t see anyone at first. The house felt too quiet. The kitchen light was on, casting long shadows along the floor.
And then you saw her.
Mia was sitting at the kitchen table, a cigarette dangling from her fingers. The smoke curled up lazily in the air, and her eyes were fixed on the ground. Her face was calm, disturbingly so, as if she hadn’t just crossed every line imaginable.
Her lips twisted into a half-smile as you entered. “I thought you’d be home sooner,” she said, her voice cool and casual, like nothing was wrong.
You froze, your heart hammering in your chest. “What are you doing here, Mia?”
She didn’t answer right away. She just took a long drag of the cigarette, her eyes never leaving you. The silence stretched between you like a taut wire, ready to snap at any moment.
And then you heard it.
A soft thud from upstairs.
Your breath caught in your throat.
“Mia…” you whispered, fear rising in your chest. “Where’s Skye?”
Mia didn’t respond. Instead, she flicked the cigarette to the ground and stood up, slowly, deliberately. She took a step toward you, her eyes gleaming with something darker, something possessive.
“She’s upstairs,” Mia said softly. “She wouldn’t stop asking questions. She wanted to take you away from me, Y/N. She didn’t understand that we belong together. So I had to make her understand.”
Your blood ran cold.
“Mia… no… You didn’t…” You stepped back, the words caught in your throat as the truth sank in. She had killed Skye.
With a sudden burst of movement, Mia grabbed your arm, pulling you toward the stairs. “Come on. Let me show you.”
You couldn’t pull away. Her grip was like iron, and the fear that gripped you made it impossible to think straight.
As you reached the top of the stairs, your eyes landed on the scene in front of you. Skye’s body was sprawled across the hallway floor, her face frozen in a final expression of shock. Blood was everywhere, staining the walls, the floor, soaking into the carpet.
Your legs went weak, and you stumbled back, horrified by the sight.
Mia watched you, her face unreadable. “She was going to ruin everything, Y/N. You don’t need her. You don’t need anyone else.”
You felt the air leave your lungs as the weight of Mia’s words crushed you. There was no escaping this.
“Mia… please…” Your voice trembled as you tried to pull away from her, but she held you in place, her eyes cold and calculating.
She smiled again, but this time, there was no warmth behind it. “It’s perfect now. It’s just you and me. We can start over. No more distractions.”
You looked into her eyes, seeing the madness that had taken hold of her. She wasn’t just obsessed. She was broken.
And then the doorbell rang.
You didn’t know who it could be, but you couldn’t take any more of this. You had to escape.
“Mia, please—”
She tilted her head, a dangerous glint in her eyes. “You think you can leave me now? After everything I’ve done for you?”
The doorbell rang again, louder this time.
Mia’s grip on your arm tightened. “No one’s coming to save you.”
But in that moment, you couldn’t take it anymore. The fear, the suffocating dread, the weight of everything crashing down on you.
Your heart raced as you tried to back away, but Mia's grip tightened, her fingers digging into your skin. “Mia, please…” you gasped, your voice trembling.
Instead of answering, Mia’s expression twisted. She stepped closer, a smirk creeping up her lips. “You can’t escape me, Y/N. You think you can just run?” Her voice was low, almost mocking.
Desperation surged through you. You couldn't let her do this—couldn’t let her win. You shoved against her with everything you had, pushing her back. The force sent her stumbling, and for the briefest moment, you had space.
"Mia! I’m not like you!" you yelled, feeling a rush of adrenaline.
Mia’s eyes narrowed, her smile turning sharp and twisted. “You think you’re different? You’re just as broken as I am,” she hissed, her voice chilling.
Before you could react, she lunged at you, but you were already moving—darting past her, running for the stairs. Your heart was thundering in your chest, every instinct screaming at you to get out of there, to escape the nightmare she had created.
You stumbled down the stairs and towards the door. The sound of Mia’s footsteps behind you sent waves of terror through your body. You reached for the doorknob, your fingers shaking, but the door was stuck.
“Let me go, Mia!” you screamed, throwing your body against the door in desperation.
Behind you, Mia’s voice was almost calm, like she was savoring every moment. “You’re mine, Y/N. You can never leave.”
With a final burst of energy, you forced the door open. The cool night air hit your face like a slap. Without a second thought, you ran.
You didn’t look back. Not even once.
You just had to get away.

“Now we’re going to get to know your partner for the semester. Share your names and find a commonality between you! The pair with the most commonalities can get some extra accolades, but not a prize!”
Catra glared at Glimmer, who happily returned it.
Glimmer, of course, can’t keep her mouth shut for five seconds though (which must be a victory of some kind) and offers, “Well we both hate each other. That’s one.”
That’s the worst part about her, Catra actually thinks she’s kinda funny and that fucking sucks. She worked too hard to earn a reputation as a slacker and class clown (despite being neither) and isn’t going to let this get in her way of being the funny guy. “We both know we’re right and the other is wrong.”
“That’s two!” Glimmer snickers, her glare already softening. “We agree that most people are kinda dumb and we should be in charge, but only if that doesn’t involve too much responsibility.”
“Of course, we’re not animals.” Catra means it as a turn of phrase, but Glimmer puts another finger up showing four. “Neither of us like to apologize, or say thank you.”
Six fingers as Glimmer reluctantly agrees. “We both know exactly what is funny and if our opinions happen to align that’s coincidence. We are both willing to throw down in a mcdonalds at two in the morning.”
“And taco bell.”
“And taco bell,” Glimmer agrees, now showing nine fingers.
Good, because Catra has to say that while getting into fist fights in parking lots is not actually their hobby, it basically is at this point. Might as well get extra points for it somewhere.
“We are both over twenty years old.”
“Mmm, we grew up in the same hometown. Same schools.” Glimmer switches to a piece of paper and puts 14 tallies down.
“...we both have dead parents?” Catra winces even as she offers it because Glimmer actually liked her dad whereas Catra doesn’t really remember her parents. But another tally gets added so she takes the W.
“We both dated the same girl, and it didn’t work out for basically the same reason.”
Catra snarls but allows the marks to be put down. “We’re gay.”
Glimmer has the world’s most evil smile on as she says, “We are SUPER gay.”
Their teacher waves a hand, calling out to catch everyone’s attention before starting around the room. How many commonalities in each group. Three. Five. Two. Ten. One (a vague like of pecans should not count but whatever).
“And what about you two?”
Glimmer smiles brightly, “Eighteen, and we will take our extra accolades please.”
#at a work retreat we had to find group commonalities#and one guy we all knew would have the least in common with us#(he has a dry sense of humor about it and leans into it)#we asked him to list something and we could figure it out and he declined#someone asked if we all liked apples#he very unconvincingly said: oh yeah boy I do love apples I had 10 on my way here#we tried several other things until finally someone said: okay we all eat but that shouldn't count do we all like nuts#and he said: not all nuts#a mistake on his part to be sure#we went through the list until he begrudgingly said: I sometimes like pecans#we were the group with the fewest items besides a vague enjoyment of pecans#but to be fair we refused to do things like we're all adults living in this state who work at this college#so suck it groups who didn't do the hard work!#anyhow every time I see this I think of this vaguely glitra thing I wrote the first time I saw it#this is past glitra adjacent and is more like they're vaguely in the same 100 mile area#but I'll take the intended path of this is a modern AU where they start working together in class and are annoyed to realize they like#one another#standing by my HC that Catra only pretends to be a lazy joker as a defense response#it takes a lot more work to be such a little shit but someone has to do it#(glimmer in the distance: literally NO ONE has to)#SOMEONE HAS TO DO IT

Day 0
If dying of embarrassment were a thing, Mattheo Riddle would be deceased.
“In Potions, I think I saw you actually drooling over her, mate.”
Enzo chuckles at Theodore’s quip, adding, “I knew it was bad, but not that bad.”
Mattheo groans, hiding his face in his hands as the three boys are sat around a table in the Slytherin common room, the flames of the fire dying out at the later hour, gentle rain tapping the low windows that offer an inky view of the Black Lake.
“She answered a question no one knew the answer to. You have to admit, that’s pretty impressive,” Mattheo says desperately, raising his head from the table, hoping for a glimpse of sympathy from his friends.
All it succeeds in doing, however, is inciting further fits of laughter from them.
“With friends like you guys, who needs enemies,” Mattheo lowly mutters, crossing his arms and glaring.
“No, but since when were you into smart girls, Riddle?” Enzo asks in between laughs.
Mattheo sighs, leaning back in his seat. He gazes over at his faint reflection in the low windows, lost in thought. The truth is, Lorenzo made a good point. Mattheo was always into girls that would give him their undying attention and a few nights of fun. Then, he’d move on. It was a mutual understanding between them. He’d never truly play with their emotions, but he’d make his intentions clear.
Take it or leave it.
And usually they’d take it.
But you were truly something else. A genius on the pitch and in the classroom. Academic and athletic weapon, not to mention your biting humor that always seemed to make his heart beat faster.
“Tell you what, Matt. Let us help you,” Theodore leans forward, traces of amusement still evident on his face.
Mattheo raises an eyebrow at Theodore’s offer, waiting for him to continue.
“I propose a deadline. You have 5 days to ask her out before the Hogsmeade trip on Saturday.”
Mattheo sighs, his gaze settling suspiciously on the smiling boys.
“And if I fail?”
“You buy us as many sweets from Honeydukes as we desire,” Enzo grins, “and you know how much I love candy..”
Mattheo stands up, choosing to create an air of confidence around him, although he’s panicking about the prospect of confessing to you.
“You have yourself a deal, boys.”
Day 1
His plan to confess as soon as possible so as not to feel the desperation of losing time reached a roadblock as Mattheo woke up remembering he had a Quidditch game that morning.
Against your house. (sorry slytherin readers forgive me)
He didn’t want you to be in a bad mood from a loss, but he also didn’t want to seem like a loser in your eyes. He would never be one to lose purposefully, as he knew you’d loathe that, so Mattheo resolved to play fair.
The game progressed onwards as his house took the lead, but he had to admit he wasn’t much help despite his efforts. Seeing your hair flowing in the wind against the lush green hills, your determined face, your shining skin…it was distracting to say the least..
Suddenly, you loop upwards, narrowly avoiding a bludger that zooms past you and heads straight towards Mattheo.
He barely avoids it, the bludger chipping away part of his brand new broomstick.
“Shit..”
“Keep your head in the game, Riddle,” you smirk, flying up next to him.
“Hard when those bludgers are attempting to behead me,” he grins back. Talking to his favorite person was his new favorite hobby, even if you could be intending to insult him..
You ended up catching the snitch and winning your house this integral game, shooting your team to the House Cup Finals. You landed on the grass, smiling gleefully, your face glistening with triumph and sweat despite the quite chilly weather.
Mattheo landed on the ground next to you, grinning at your expression. He wholeheartedly thought you deserved this win. He’d seen you practicing at the crack of dawn and the fall of the moon. He knew how hard you worked as captain. He saw you on his morning walks, and from the towers of Hogwarts when he’d smoke over the rail, watching your figure shooting through the air in the velvet darkness.
Lost in the ecstasy of the atmosphere, Mattheo resolved to let his feelings be known right then and there. What greater chance for you to agree to a date when your spirits were raised so high?
He approached you, broom in hand, and you turned around to look at him with an ecstatic grin on your face; one he couldn’t resist to mirror.
“Good game, Riddle,” you stuck your hand out, slightly sympathetic for the boy’s loss despite his oddly bright expression.
“Good game, y/l/n. I actually wanted to ask you something..” he trails off, scratching the back of his neck. Despite the adrenaline pumping through his veins, nerves were slowly eating away at his windpipe, restricting him from choking out the words he’d desired to tell you.
But he had resolved to do it.
And Mattheo Riddle was many things, but not a coward.
You raised your eyebrow at him, waiting for him to speak further.
“I was wondering if you would go with-”
He was interrupted by your surprised yelp and laugh of joy as your teammates lifted you to their shoulders, yelling and cheering your name.
You put your hands up in victory, the golden snitch still struggling in your grip.
“We’ll talk later, Mattheo!” you shout at him, waving your hands to get his attention.
Not that you had to.
You had forever stolen his gaze.
Day 2
So, his original strategy had proved to be a failure. The whole of yesterday, your house wouldn’t leave you alone. When you took a quick trip to the hospital wing to patch up some quick little cuts, your housemates followed you, cheering. When you were walking through the halls, you were surrounded by at least 8 congratulating classmates. In the night, you were at the party celebrating your win. Always busy.
Mattheo never got the chance to just confess as soon as possible, but no matter. This was just day 2, and he still had plenty of time. He had put up with more of his friends’ teasing regarding his harbored crush, but he’d be willing to brave the storm of his friends’ jabs if it meant eventually seeing it die away when he finally had you by his side.
If you’d accept him that is..
He groaned as he walked through the busy halls of Hogwarts during a break period.
Love was too hard.
He walked into the courtyard to find his friends, but his eyes immediately landed on you. You were quickly skimming a Potion’s textbook, no doubt studying for the sudden test that had been sprung on by Slughorn. He can’t imagine you had much time to study due to the match and celebrations. It was unlike you to look so harried and unprepared.
He knew this couldn’t be the right time, but he had to test the waters. Perhaps you were still in a good mood?
What he didn’t know was that you’d always be happy to see him. Even if you were having a meltdown, you'd grin at the sight of him.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Mattheo walked up to you, smoothly sliding onto the stone bench beside you. He was immediately met with your smiling face as your attention was diverted from the book.
“Y/N unprepared for a test? Never thought I’d see the day,” he nudged your shoulder playfully with his own as you gave him a mock glare.
“I’m hoping I’ll suddenly procure a photographic memory and just capture the words on this textbook in my brain,” you say, putting the book super close to your eyes as you pretend to absorb all the knowledge.
Mattheo laughs, “I wish I could help but I’m not the best person to ask for, well, any school subjects, to be honest.”
You snickered as you regarded him, eyes alight.
“Oh yeah, what was it you were trying to ask me on the pitch yesterday?”
Well, he couldn’t back down now.
“I was just wondering if you’d like-”
“Y/N!!!” your best friend comes running through the halls toward you, waving a bundle of parchment with hastily written words. “I just took the Potions test and this is what's on it.”
Your eyes widen in delight as you peer over at her parchment. Your attention being completely drawn away, Mattheo gets up with a sigh and stalks off toward his friends, feeling dejected.
He doesn’t notice the sorry glance you throw his way, upset that his words got interrupted once more.
Day 3
You couldn’t sleep that night and you awoke feeling puffy and down. It seemed as if Mattheo Riddle had been avoiding you the rest of yesterday and you knew it was because he had something to say to you but kept getting interrupted.
Something important to tell you and something that made him nervous.
That couldn’t mean…
Of course not.
But you’ve had feelings for him for a long time, and the prospect that he could feel the same excited you. Perhaps you should cave first and confess because if that’s what the poor boy had been attempting, after being interrupted twice you doubted he had the guts to do it again. Besides, it’d be a weight lifted from your heart.
You knew he took early morning walks as he’d often retell his experiences to you when you used to sit next to him in class:
“...and then this bigass bird took a fat shit on McLaggen’s head, and that's when I knew it was going to be a glorious day,” he finished proudly, smiling.
“Now, that’s a good omen if I’ve ever heard of one,” you grinned as you both indulged in quiet laughter, hidden at the back of the History of Magic Classroom.
Who knew such a dull class would quickly become your favorite.
He must’ve not taken a walk today because you couldn’t find him.
Now, cruel fate had moved him as far away as possible in that classroom with no chance to sneak a quick conversation in. He seemed quite upset today in the one class you’d seen him in, keeping his head low and dozing off a few times. Twice you’d seen him steal a glance at you then look away abruptly.
You found him later that day, walking through the dark hallways after dinner. It was quiet and empty as the rest of the students had made their way to their common rooms or the library. He was looking down and was wiping something from his nose with the back of his hand. It looked like…
Blood.
“Riddle?” you called out softly, and his ebony eyes trained on you in a panic.
He had never intended for you to ever see him like this. Dejected and bleeding.
You stand there, hugging yourself amidst the chills of the vast, stone halls, clinging onto your sweater.
“A fight?”
He nods, not being able to meet your eyes.
You gently grab his arm, beginning to pull him in the direction of the Hospital Wing. Maybe you could confess in there while he was getting patched up, although that may not be the best time for it.
Perhaps now to lighten the mood of this awkward walk?
If he rejects you, at least teasing you about it would make him more cheerful.
“Hey, Mattheo…I just wanted to let you know that-”
Before you could get very far, however, a bloodied Gryffindor boy strides toward you guys, calling Riddle’s name in an icy tone.
You both whirl around, and Riddle grits his teeth, upset to see the boy he had just fought with.
“You thought you could just escape?” the boy stops 7 feet away, balling up his fists
“You were out cold, so yeah, I assumed I could.”
“Rematch, Riddle.”
He looks back at you, something glistening in his eyes.
“Go, y/l/n.”
You cross your arms, narrowing your eyes, “You think I’m just gonna leave you here, bleeding?”
“Go.”
You realize there’s no stopping this fight and, frankly, you didn’t want to see Mattheo beating someone up. You walk straight to the nearest professor’s quarters and alert them of the fight, framing it so it sounds like Mattheo was ambushed and simply fought back as self-defense. After doing so, you slip into your room, lying awake, hoping he’s ok.
Day 4
Mattheo was cutting it close, but this week had been a doozy. He hoped today would be an ordinary day in which he could finally, peacefully confess his vibrant feelings for you.
That morning, Mattheo finds you in the library next to a stack of mythology books. He walks up, a smile already forming on his face at the familiar sight of your gorgeous, focused face.
“I wasn’t aware there was a Mythology class at Hogwarts,” he smiles, leaning against your table. His face was covered in cuts and bruises while his nose seemed haphazardly bandaged.
You look up at him disapprovingly, eyes tracing his injuries.
“It's called reading for fun, Mattheo. You should try it sometimes.”
“No, thank you.”
You shot him a sardonic smile, leaning back in your chair.
“Listen, y/n, I wanted to thank you for shifting the blame off of me for the fight but-”
“No problem, I had to do something,” you shrug.
“But…I could’ve handled it myself. You tainted my reputation and it made me seem like I’m weak and scared of authority.”
You raise an eyebrow, a look of disbelief blossoming on your face.
“You’re seriously annoyed with me for helping you NOT get in trouble?” you stand up from your seat staring him in the eye. “Your stupid pride and reputation is worth more than that?”
He furrows his brows, perplexed by your reaction.
“You wouldn’t understand,” he sighs. “My reputation is all I have” is what he meant to share, but vulnerability was not his strong point.
“Yeah, I wouldn’t,” you stand up, grabbing your books, and walk out, not looking back once.
Mattheo watches you go, feeling as if whatever grip he had on you had lessened. He could feel you falling through his fingers.
Day 5 ₊˚ෆ
Mattheo would’ve accepted his defeat if this was any other bet. Confessing to y/n was a harder task than it seemed.
The thing is, this wasn’t any other bet, and Mattheo Riddle was as adamant as ever to let you know how he felt about you. Being in your presence was a hot bowl of soup on a sick day. It was a warm glass of spiced butterbeer after playing in the snow. It was a blanket after being warmed by the fire. It was a comfort he never allowed himself to indulge in.
He wanted it in a stronger dose. He needed the comfort of a relationship with you. And today, he intended to get it.
He awoke early as usual since he couldn’t sleep past six: his thoughts always woke him up far too early. Getting dressed and heading outside, he sees you reading your mythology books under a big oak tree, bundled up in a deep grey trench coat. As he approached with his silent steps and hands in his pockets, he realized it was Norse mythology today. Despite him acting clueless, he also enjoyed reading myths for fun.
He stopped a few feet away from you and you looked up unsurprisingly, as if you knew he was approaching the entire time. With a quick glance at the empty spot next to you, you signal Mattheo to join you in the misty morning air. You couldn’t help but feel as if this replicated the foggy morning scene in one of your favorite movies, Pride and Prejudice.
He settled next to you, shoulders touching.
“I hope a bigass bird shits on your head,” you murmur in a playful tone, recalling his tale, looking at him with a fake gleam of scorn in your eyes. Not entirely fake as you were quite annoyed about yesterday night in the library.
He laughs at that, tilting his head to look at you in all your morning glory.
“I’m sorry about yesterday,” he whispers, looking at you with utter adoration, although you don’t characterize it as such. “I just…I feel as if my reputation is all I have.”
He looks away at that, across the grounds, embarrassed to admit anything so close to his heart.
You nod understandingly, touching his pinky with your own.
“We’re cool, Riddle.”
He takes a deep breath and keeps barreling on, ready to confess to you and pour out his heart.
“Listen, y/n. I kept getting interrupted but I-”
“RIDDLE!” Draco is making his way towards them, looking frantic. You and Mattheo both stand up, looking concerned at his expression. He wears cloak with the hood up and looks panicked, striding towards them in a half run until he is standing before them, panting.
“What happened, what's wrong?” Mattheo urges, shaking Draco’s shoulders.
Draco yanks off his hood to reveal his baby pink hair and you and Mattheo stare at him for a moment.
And then burst out laughing.
“Do you know who did this?” Draco is fuming, balling his fists as he glares at the both of you.
“No, mate, but you have yourself a nemesis,” Mattheo says, gasping for breath. Draco grabs his arm beginning to pull him away, muttering something about helping him get revenge. You’re not letting Mattheo get away again, so you grab his other arm, engaging in a game of tug-of-war. Mattheo shakes off Draco and shoos him off with a wave of his hand and a small glare as Draco gives in and walks away, sulking.
“Where were we?”
“You were on a vulnerability rampage,” you smirk, releasing your grip much to his displeasure.
He smiles shyly as he looks off into the distance, finding your gaze a burning sensation.
“I really, really like you, y/n. And I’ve been trying to let you know for a while now.
You smile as you angle your neck to force Mattheo to look into your eyes.
Oh, how you loved his ebony doe eyes.
“Well, it’s a good thing I really like you too, Mattheo.”
And Mattheo Riddle grinned as he finally had the girl of his dreams, and they both engaged in an all-out rampage of Honeydukes, paid for by Lorenzo and Theodore, of course.

𝑀𝑦 𝐶𝑎𝑡 𝐼𝑛 𝐷𝑖𝑠𝑔𝑢𝑖𝑠𝑒
A/N: This is definetly not me projecting my love for cats and Regulus. Also, if anyone is interested in documentaries, I recommend you watching "Inside of a cat's mind". It was really interesting, and also a seratonin boost for me.
A/N: I feel like this sucks but I couldn't think of another way to end this, I hope you guys like it!
Prompts used: "I love her so bad" from this, "you are my favourite, you always have been." from this.
"That's downright ridiculous..."
"Oh, come on, Reggie! What better way than this to show your lover your new animagus form?"
Regulus swinged his tail back and forth angrily as he laid on his mattress on his front legs, even rolling his eyes at his dumb friends as they continued to tease him with his brand-new look. It wasn't like he could talk in that form, but he was so goddamn sure that his eyes gave his thoughts away. What started this conversation and the endless teasing from his friends was that Regulus could now transform into his Animagus form.
Which was a black cat. A cute and cuddly one, as Pandora said while scratching his ears as Barty and Evan made fun of him for being soft. He hissed at them loudly, showing his sharp claws as a silent threat as he nuzzled closer to the sweater under his paws, full of your smell and perfume as a little happy smile found his face, watching Pandora who had been petting him as she chastised the other two in the room.
But it did nothing to help.
Since when it did anyways? Nothing could stop those idiots...
Barty and Evan let out a bark as they rolled on their bed, Barty crouching down with his hands on his knees in front of Pandora who had been sitting down on the ground, shaking her head for him not to do anything that would anger Regulus.
But, as usual, Barty didn't care, and dramatically wiped a fake tear from his eye as he offered his forefinger to Regulus, who had been eyeing him with bored eyes and an evil plan, wondering if it was obvious on his cat face as he imagined the delight he would feel.
"Awww, look at our little Reggie! So angry and deadly, with his little claws and teeth~ You are so soft now, so cuddly that I can just-AHHH!"
But of course, Regulus' personality didn't change just because he turned into a cat and since everyone practically knew not to call him that name... Well, except for his lovely lover you, and Barty still did it...
It was only fair for him to bite his finger and claw at his face.
"And that's what happens when you mess with Regulus, Barty. He is still the same friend we have that absolutely hates to be teased and that's what you get..." Pandora sighed out as she rose up, passing by them in the common room as she got out. She didn't care about the screaming behind her, Evan cackling on the ground about "how Barty got bitten by a kitten" while the boy tried to convince him that "it was a literal cheetah that bit him and not a kitten" as if his cooings and awes weren't the reason behind that cat's anger.
Well, he warned him that he didn't like that nickname so he had it coming, right?
Regulus nuzzled deeper into Pandora's arms as the young girl giggled, smiling to herself at seeing her friend happy as he always was whenever he had that special clothing close to him. "Don't worry, Regulus... I know Y/N is in the Great Hall, preparing you food again. So, I'll take you to your precious lover~"
And if his face couldn't show the possible blush on his face and how comedically wide his eyes were, the way he jumped up and kneaded your sweater that he found in his room after stealing it definetly did the job.
His heart beated harder at the thought of seeing you, preparing him a plate with a cute frown and possibly cursing at him for not caring about his health as you made little talk with your friends here and there...
He always knew he was one hell of a lucky guy for finding someone like you. So caring and loving and supporting...
All his life, Regulus never had known love or care. At least not from his mother and her twisted way of showing love and his father's abuse. All he had, for the longest time, was his brother and even then, he never thought he could have more, deserved more.
More of that love and affection he craved.
So, after pinning after you since the firs year, he finally had the courage of asking you out... Even if he didn't want to think back to that day because of the high stuttering of his, a sign of how nervous he was and how important you were to him.
Because that mother and father of his might have failed at showing what true love means, he had plenty of times to secretly read all about romantic books and witness it with his own mind and heart. He often thought that they weren't real, that the author went overboard with all the struggles and fights the main characters went through for the love they shared with each other, strong enough to stand against every strong wind, army or even death.
He questioned whether love was worth it all, when he wanted something serene and comforting. He was done with all the fights anyways, he didn't want any of those any more.
He deserved that at least, right?
But soon, he realized that not everyone is like his parents. Not every relationship is disasterous with the fights and disagreements... They are what makes it stronger and more powerful, with every hardship that comes.
He learnt that without those waves and little obstacles in the way, the comforting relationship and tender love he desperately needed would never be his.
So, he gulped down his worries and confessed his love to you, in one of the many times that you two hung out in the Astronomy Tower. By that time, you were already aware of his feelings by the way he was so soft with you and actually seeked to spend more time with you throughout your days together.
Besides, you were sure Regulus didn't spend his time taking girls to watch stars as he rambled about each of them while subconsciously holding your hand.
But then... Another problem arose: Showing his affections, a basic need of a relationship in his eyes.
Because, as any sane person could tell, Regulus didn't have the healthiest of relationship with his parents even though he knew what they... had between each other was far from love. He knew he would never dare, and rather kill himself, to do any of the things they did to each other to you. He knew he wanted to hold you, kiss you, openly show his love, the way his eyes shone brighter at the sight of you as you skipped to him was enough of a sign...
But he knew he wouldn't be able to bear all the teasing his friends and his brother, with whom he recently fixed his relationship, would do.
And he hated himself for thinking like that, doing the exact opposite of what he wanted to do when you didn't deserve it at all. He didn't want you to think that he was ashamed of you, which you never did and gold him that it was fine he didn't declare his love out all the time like a certain older brother of his and knew he loved you through his actions...
But it wasn't enough for him, it wasn't enough for the voices in his mind to stop.
You deserved a man who wouldn't shy away, who didn't have severe issues with himself. Someone who wasn't the item of a fucked up ideology... Someone who would be proud and confident in both himself and you, slinging an arm around you while walking and give you anything you asked for.
Perhaps a free future... Away, in a cottage with some animals...
But he was a selfish man who wanted to be that person, to be the reason of your smile and happiness every day. He just... had to find a way to show all of these thoughts and feelings.
But he was bad at it... So, why not get the help of a cute animal to see what you exactly like? And show his feelings?
"I swear to Merlin, I will strangle that boy when I see him! He disappears all the time, without eating! Who does he think he is?" You angrily turned to your friend who was eating her fries as she stopped her hand mid-air and looked at you with her eyes and mouth wide open. "What? Who?"
"Regulus, of course! That boy will give me a heart attack at one point, the other day I found him literally choking Barty because of that nickname again!" You angrily scoffed as you dumped more food like an angry mother, but your friend only laughed because of the twitch of your lips upwards.
"Yeah, but you love him and his special treatment, no?" She wiggled her brows as she continued to eat and you sighed out in bliss, a loving and stupid smile plastering on your face.
And yes, yes you loved him and his stupid grin whenever he teased you and his sweet smile as he watched you do your own thing.
But it wasn't enough of a reason to not to scold him when you see him as soon as possible.
"Maybe. And yes, I very much so am in love with him but I'll strangle him anyways... He promised to not pick up fights and take care of himself better- Oh, hi Pandora!"
You turned fast to where the bubbly girl was coming to your way, excitedly waving at her when your eyes landed on... the cutest ball of sunshine on her arms.
"Hi, Y/N! I see that you are... agitated?" She snorted to herself as she saw how you changed your mood at the sight of the cat between her arms as you nodded absentmindedly to her, waving off her question while scratching the little cat's chin with a stupid smile on your face. It was a known fact around the school how weak you were to them, and also your boyfriend.
With you both being smitten with each other, y'know?
Unknown to you though, that cat was the boy you loved, and he was soaking all the love in like a sponge. He was grinning from ear to ear, as much as a cat would be able to do, and he jumped down from where he was seated between Pandora's arms and flunged himself up towards your legs, pawing at them to make you cuddle him.
Patheatic, his inner voice said but he answered with I love her so bad....
"Well, it seems that our friend loves you very much!" She wiggled her brows playfully as you giggled, not aware of the daggers the cat, Regulus, was giving to your dear friend. Pandora didn't care though, she knew he never meant any of those stares and besides, that was exactly the moment for her to leave him with you so that he could get his head out of his arse and see how much you loved him and didn't care if he showed his love around people or not.
Because, by the state he was in, he didn't know shit about the extend of your love for him.
"Then, I will leave you with him! Don't worry he is very docile and easygoing, I'm sure you two will get along well! Goodbye!"
"Wait, Pandora- Wow, she left so soon..." you mumbled in thought as you looked down at the cat still pawing at your legs with wide blue eyes, his pupils almost so big that his eyes couldn't be seen as he meowed softly to you.
"Aww, don't worry I won't leave you! But I was going to visit my careless boyfriend who forgot to eat, again..." you kneeled on the ground with a playful scowl as you took him between your arms, cooing at the loud purr he let out as he nuzzled deeper in you. "I think he will like you too, what do you say? Hmm?"
Yeah, love, considering the fact that it's me... I think I will like myself enough...
Throughout the walk to your boyfriend's dorm, you kept the same big smile on your face as you kept looking down at the cat and squeezed his cheeks with your fingers. Cuteness agression is really something, you thought as he looked around the familiar sight of the door to his house's common room. He started to whine and get angsty a little bit, not wanting this "cuddle session" to come to an end.
"Don't worry, little one! I'm not leaving, I will sit here until Reg comes back and probably beg him to let me have you all to myself..."
He meowed in response, wincing under his breath at how this was the only way to communicate with you. Love, you already has that cat to yourself...
You smiled softly as the cat sniffed Regulus' bed and jumped on it, circling around himself until he found a good position and stared at you expectantly. You smiled back at the cat and turned your back to him to set the food down on his desk. Suddenly staring at the dark sky outside and seeing how long has it been that you last saw Regulus, you sighed sadly, wondering when he will be back and whether you should get out of his dorm before his friends arrived or not.
Sensing your sudden sadness, Regulus immediately jumped up and meowed at you hurriedly. Even as a cat, he was weak for your sadness and immediately alerted.
"Hmm? Oh nothing, little guy... Just wondering when my boyfriend will come and finally start to take care of himself." You laughed when he hissed softly and almost seemed like he was pointing at the bed. "You want me to lay down?"
A barely-there nod.
"Okay... I think I can use some rest. Scoot over..." you shuffled on the bed as its silky feeling engulfed you, resulting with you letting out a relieved sigh as the cat purred happily over your chest. You trailed a soft finger down his spine and up towards his face, your hand patting him while holding him as if he was a baby.
And he freaking loved it, loved the feeling of safety of your arms.
And obviously, when cats were happy, they purred loudly.
"Hmm? Oh, you like me? I like you too, little guy! You're so cute and so elegant with your black fur and shiny, blue eyes." Regulus purred even more loudly as he nestled on your chest, bumping his head to your chin, and neck as a way of marking you. You giggled at the cat, actually your possessive boyfriend, and continued to play with the playful cat as he made several cute moves with his body and eyes.
His behaviour surprised you, since you thought black cats were mostly grumpy and "I show affection ONLY when I want to, human." kind of animals. But this one....
This one didn't even leave your side for the whole day and instead laid on your lap, purring at every chance he had. Somewhere in a muggle book, you remembered reading that a cat's purring often touches the paternal part in one's brain and that's why humans care for them a lot.
Which was goddamn right, even if it was the same frequency of a baby crying. But though a baby's cry was often irritating with its high pitch, a cat's purr was comforting.
Another reason to convince Regulus to adopt kittens for when you left the school, and settled in an apartment as soon as possible.
"And you remind me of someone I reaaally love, y'know? I'm sure he would like to have you... Don't tell him this, but you are now my favourite thing in the world!"
Wait... Wait, wait, wait! What? That was so offensive! A cat, who you knew for a few hours, took your favourite place?!
"Meowwww!"
Nope, he couldn't let it happen! The plan wasn't even this!
"Hmm? What's wrong, did I say something bad?" You wondered as the cat you adored suddenly turned pissy, throwing what you assumed as "cat tantrums" after whatever you said that triggered him. Regulus, though, started to pace around the bed nervously. You tilted your head in confusion as the cat he jumped up and tugged on your robes to make you get up.
Yeah, cats definetly have God-complex...
"Okay, okay, fine! I'm up, I seriously don't know what... is... wrong..." your jaw hung open with your eyes wide when the black cat you adored and showed immense love to was... None other than your boyfriend.
"Regulus?"
"Hi, love..." he shyly looked at you as his hand caressed his face tiredly, tugging on the skin as he grumbled at the stinging pain on his back while trying to relieve himself from the pain. "Damn it, my spine hurts..."
"What... I don't understand, you have been the cat?! All this time?" You pointed to him with your hands in surprise, still not believing that the cat was your boyfriend who apparently learnt to become an animagus.
"Yeah, I was the cat..."
"But... why? Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of you for achieving becoming an animagus," he smiled softly at how you didn't miss the opportunity of praising him for his accomplishment, and he couldn't help but wonder at how easy it was for you to see past the fact that he hid something from you. He expected you to be angry for hiding it, but you were just... confused?
Why?
"But why did you hide it? I mean, it's a pretty big deal and your cat form was so beatiful with your little paws, soft fur and big eyes- I'm starting to loose the point of the talk, so please... explain."
He laughed when you finished your rant with a blushing face, looking at him with a flustered face as you waited. He knew you wouldn't judge, Merlin knew you never did, so he sat down on his bed and patted the area next to him.
"Because... I didn't know what else to do to show you." You continued to look at him confused for a second, occasionally side eyeing the room as if a clue would suddenly appear and lighten whatever that was going on right now.
"Well, it's only logical to show me rather than throwing random bottles on the ground... But I think you don't mean you, being a liquid-"
"Cats are not liquid, love..." Regulus sighed lovingly as you knitted your brows and playfully shook your head before laying a kiss on his cheek. "No, they are! They fit into anything possible even an asymetrical glass box!"
"When did you see a cat do that?"
"My sibling's cat... Though it could be because it is weird..."
He laughed as you seriously started to wonder whether what you said about the cat was true or not, and pulled you to himself by your shoulders. He was grateful you changed the subject after noticing he was slightly uncomfortable but...
He had to be honest after spending the whole day with you, and seeing what Pandora said about you and how much stronger your love was for him.
Because he finally knew, he didn't have to be a cat spy to show you his love.
"As much as my heart feels like it could explode with love from you noticing I was uncomfortable and tried to change the subject," you smiled bashfully as you blinked your eyes at him, not stopping him. He sighed once before keep going. " I did it to show you... how much I love you and show my affection in the only way I knew."
You would have cut him in the middle but by the slight wavering of his voice, you knew that it was something he had to get off of himself... That this conversation was important for him in every way possible.
So you listened... And with every word passing his lips, your eyes softened for the fragile and soft-hearted boy next to you.
"I never knew love, I never knew how to love and show it freely. Mom and dad saw it as a weakness, others saw it as some inconvenience... Sirius was the only one I have, and even then, he was the one expressing his feelings freely. Not me. I always did it silently... Taking care of Sirius' injuries after mother punished him or dad beat him. I did it by stealing his favourites from the kitchen or learning how to make them when my parents weren't home...."
A deep sigh, one that told many unsaid stories and feelings.
" Then I showed it with taking notes for my friends when they weren't able to attend classes. I showed it by taking care of their many injuries that definetly weren’t a result of training but rather... abuse. Merlin knows, I know those kind of bruises like the back of my hand. Then... But then, you came along with your shining eyes and wide smile, asking if you could sit with me in the train and suddenly... I-I wanted to be more. For you. I wanted to be enough of a man to deserve your love and show it to the whole world. Like my brother who openly hugged people, and kissed their cheeks or nuzzled to them... But soon, I was reminded that I would always be his shadow."
Silence scretchted between you as you continued looking at him, not being sure what to do now that he suddenly opened up about why he was avoiding you. You definetly didn't think your night would end up like this, even if him opening up to you was everything you wanted, but you would never be able to know that feeling.
Feeling like someone's shadow, having to endure what Regulus endured... Something he was grateful that never happened and would never happen now that you were with him.
You wouldn’t understand any of it, but you could be there for him now that he wouldn't be alone.
"You once asked me... 'Do you ever hide who you trully are?' at the side of the Black Lake in one of our nightly dates. I kept my silence then, didn't want to scare you off with my strong feelings since it was still too early but not for me who loved you for 2 year prior to that night, but... I never did, not with you, never with you. But... I never felt enough for you. I mean... How could someone as amazing as you would deserve the love of some coward? Someone who feared showing love?" He almost spitted the word "fear" as he shook his head in near disbelief at himself and how "ridiculous" he sounded, and you hated how much self-loathing he had and how easy it was for him to point that hatred to himself.
You had to change it, maybe not immediately but definetly in time.
"Regulus..." you softly rubbed his hand softly to make him look at you, and when he turned his head towards you... You saw the tears pooling in his ocean eyes. Your heart dropped to your stomach harshly as you gulped and brought his forehead down to meet yours. A silent move to convey your feelings to him.
"How could you not be enough of something you already have, from the very beginning?" You rubbed his cheek softly, bringing his face closer to yours as you kissed his eye-lids. As if you were scared to hurt him even more, when what all the world had been doing to him was hurting him.
Regulus shuddered as a shaky breath left him, suddenly overwhelmed by the weight of your words. He lifted his eyes, looked into your own that showed only one thing and only for him: Love.
"You are enough, even if you don't think so and I love you, I loved you from the beginning." A gasp left him as his hands thightened their hold on yours nervously. You laughed awkwardly. " You don't have to say it immediately but... Please, don't be so harsh on yourself. It's okay to not want to do PDA, I already told you.... All I care is your happiness, that's it."
And with that, Regulus threw himself all over you from the immense feeling he was feeling at that moment, hugging you with all his might as you returned to gesture just as fiercely. After all, it had been a long day and you missed your boyfriend, the one that would speak about Quidditch nonstop all the while letting you sleep on him as his hands caressed your hair and rubbed your back softly.
Just like now, with the adding of inhaling the scent of your hair deeply which made your heart race sweetly.
And now that the stress of him was now over and you knew what was going on...
It was time to tease him back.
"Did you just get jealous of a cat enough to come clean to me?" You mumbled from your position where your face was buried in his neck, the tingles making him giggle as a groan left him at feeling your smile on his skin.
"Love, please!"
"What? You are the one who was jealous!" You giggled playfully, but your enjoyment was soon cut when Regulus threw himself on his bed with his arms still wrapped around you. You landed harsher on his chest than you imagined and you were worried you accidently crushed him but his sigh of contentment and the way he nuzzled to your neck showed that he was far from being bad.
"I can't believe you now have a nuzzling habit, are you going to knead at me too?" You hit his chest softly when his eyes shot open and an evil smirk found his face.
Oh, that's not something good...
"I already did it earlier when I laid on your chest- Oww!"
"Regulus Arcturus Black, when did you have a foul mouth!" You hit him with his pillow as he laughed hard and ended up on the floor while trying to stop you.
"What can I say, love. I have the most gorgeous lover of all Hogwarts!"
That little shit and his sweet tongue, knowing how to get himself out of any problem...
"Okay, you got out of trouble for now... You are my favourite by the way, you always have been, in case your childish self got jealous of a cat..." you grumbled out when his head landed on your thighs and looked up at you innocently.
"That cat was still me though..." he looked at you through his lashes as you giggled, relishing on your words and how they made warmth spread all around his whole body.
"Yeah, yeah, sure... There is something I have to show you though. I was planning for a few days now. Promise to not get sad?" He nodded without knowing and guessing what was happening...
But the only thought that crossed Regulus' mind, when he saw you changing into a pure white cat, was I love her.
As you swinged your tail around Regulus' waiting hand and nuzzled to him, he smiled softly and scratched your head softly while patting your ears. His heart felt so full of love and he didn't remember any other day he felt this much happiness.
"You are... most certaintly the most beautiful yet also annoying person I know. Being a white cat Animagus, completely contrasting me but also creating something so beautiful? Did you think I will let go of you easily after this?"
You tilted your head teasingly and let out a purr before changing back into your human form with your feet dangling off of the bed like a little kid as you threw your head back towards him to look at his raised brows while he tried to surpass the smirk that threatened to take over his face.
"Yeah, I know... But you love me, no?" You cutely smiled as you nuzzled closer to his chest, and unknown to you, he smiled to himself like a fool as he wrapped his arms all around your body thightly when your body reached where he was now sitting on the bed.
Oh Merlin, he already does love everything about you.
"Can we... cuddle like that? As cats? It could be our new bonding activity!"
"I can't believe... Okay, fine. Don't try anything funny though."
"Like what?"
"Like the meaning of that wiggly eye-brows!"
But since you both were weak for each other, you two soon dozed off like that, one white and black cat tangled together peacefully as their hearts beated the same beat.
Not knowing that the next day, Barty would startle everyone awake and embrass you while yelling "Our Reggie found another chich, cat, kitten, whatever! He is cheating on our sweet Y/N!"

can you do a dae ho fic, with him being super protective and defending the reader, but she shows her own strength (maybe even saving him) and he is so star struck and falls in love immediately
She's the Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene
Paring: Kang Dae-ho x fem!reader Summary: Dae-ho felt the need to protect you, but didn't expect how starstruck he could be when you returned the favor. Words: 1k Warnings: death, guns, swearing, violence, normal squid game stuff lols A/n: I hope I didn't make this too Y/n lmao ♡ ~🍡🍡
It's definitely hard to trust people here, to say the least. You see it all, just about. The blood of hundreds stains your clothes, and the screams you’ll probably have in your nightmares feel like a fever dream. Your survival instinct can only get you so far, though, and you know it. You need to find a backup.
You expect some kind of weapon to fill the gap in your barrier. You could break a mirror in the bathrooms, maybe? It's an understatement to say the supplies are limited, and you just barely make it through the last game. You can tell you're a target. Maybe not a huge one, but everybody here has someone after them, and it's easy and difficult at the same time to be discreet here.
But it isn't a weapon you get for help--it's a man. He doesn't hesitate to help you out when you need it, and you know that he’s valuable in this setting. You call him Dae-ho. Probably because that's his name, but it still has some meaning to you. Hopefully to him, too. It feels right, rolling off of your tongue, but you digress.
He seems to care about you, at least compared to some of the heartless shells of people here. You've both found solace in each other, and he truly made you feel safe, even if you had only known each other for a few days. You talk to one another. He tells you about his life, his past. You tell him about your past, your life. It's a small feeling of comfort, at least to you.
You're snapped out of your thoughts at the sound of lights out being announced by that cold voice that makes your skin shiver. You kick your legs, sitting on a bed as you look at Dae-ho across the room. He's discussing something with his little group. He'd previously invited you to join, but you said you'd rather keep your circle small. You swing your legs, looking at his face. It's very serious, but he's pretty far away. He says something, and then you feel his eyes on you. He nods briefly at someone else as he heads to you. Your face shows concern as his serious demeanor doesn't falter.
"You need to be near us tonight, preferably in our base." You think he's joking, but you don't laugh, just in case.
""Base"?" You ask, smiling. "Why?" He rolls his eyes a bit, but you can't say you blame him. "I can handle myself." He raises an eyebrow and smiles.
"I'm not going to argue with you about that, but I could." You squint at him but chuckle. "Mr. Seong says people are going to fight tonight. He has a plan to keep us safe, and he said you can join."
"I thought we were gonna place bets." You smile. "My money is on that greasy guy who hangs out with the purple-haired asshole." He doesn't look amused, so you sigh. "How do you know he's not trying to get you killed?" You ask, dropping your egotistic demeanor.
"All he does is try to help us. Please." He says, pleading with you to have some common sense. You knew you would eventually accept, but you didn't like the thought.
"I'll think about it, alright?" He sighs and smiles a little. He knows he should take what he can get, but he hates the thought of someone hurting you.
Dae-ho isn't sure why he's taken the responsibility to protect you, but he has. He thinks of you like a flower sometimes. He can't make you take care of yourself if you don't want to, but he knows he's going to protect you anyway because everybody deserves a chance.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were lost in your thoughts, breaking out when you hear the robotic voice again.
"Player 230, 401, 299, 331, and 268, eliminated."
What? How? Your eyes track the room and land on Dae-ho, who's staring at the guards, confused. You make eye contact briefly, before people emerge from the bathrooms.
They go on to accuse each other of attacking the opposing team, creating an edge in the room. You're not listening very closely, though. Maybe Dae-ho was on to something when he said you should hide tonight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Update: He very much was right.
But you can't really think about that because there are far bigger issues at hand.
The lights are flickering so intensely you're afraid they might explode, and there's too much yelling and screaming to organize your thoughts. People are moving everywhere like scattering ants, and everything is a weapon for everyone. There's blood, a lot of it, all over the floor. You run, but it's like playing operation with corpses. You have scrapes from falling off your bed and defending yourself as you regret acting tough to Dae-ho.
Your ears are ringing, only because of a punch you just took. Everything is moving at the speed of light, and you don't have time to catch up. You kick back and stun the other person enough to run away. You feel a hand on your shoulder as you whip around, ready to fight.
To your brief luck, it's Dae-ho. He says something you can't hear and then pushes you behind him. You almost scoff if you weren't truly afraid for your life. He punches the person following you but quickly takes one himself. You try to move him, but he blocks your entrance again. You shout to him, telling him to let you help, but he probably can't hear you. You see someone holding a glass bottle sprinting to you, and your instinct finally kicks in. Literally.
You shift to the left and swiftly kick them, stunning them enough to drop their bottle as you punch them, their head ramming against a bed frame as they slide down, eyes closed. You force yourself to look away from the small pool of blood forming and push down the sick feeling in your stomach. You look for Dae-ho, to see him still fighting. He appears to be losing, though you can't hold it against him.
You don't hesitate to pull the guy off of him, grabbing his shirt from behind and throwing him down as best you could. He sits up, but you kick him hard in the face, knocking him out. You're better at this than you thought. You see another lady running to you, screaming. You quickly pick up the discarded glass bottle and shatter it against her skull. The lights turn on as guards rush in, appearing to stop the fighting.
You pant, wiping unknown blood from your face as you look to Dae-ho. You expect him to look horrified at least, but he's simply staring at you. You tilt your head at him.
"You... handled that." He says, grabbing your arm and bringing you to his "base".
"I said I could," you smirk, "You seem surprised."
"No, I'm impressed." He laughs dryly.
That stressful moment didn’t feel like it would ever end, but it did, and you found yourself still standing. Or at least, still breathing. Dae-ho was too, which was the only thing you cared about at the moment. You leaned against the wall, your body trembling from the adrenaline. He was sitting across from you, his eyes anywhere but you.
"You're full of surprises," he says, his body seemed to hint at something softer than what his voice did.
"You thought I wasn't?" you say, a smirk tugging at your lips.
"I never said that." He pauses, looking at his hands before looking at you. "I'm just happy you're okay."
His words linger in the air for a moment, and you’re unsure how to respond. You’d only met him a few days ago, but Dae-ho had become more than just an ally. He was someone you could trust in a place where trust was a gamble most people couldn’t afford to make.
"You didn't have to stick your neck out for me," you say, trying to sound nonchalant, but your voice wavers slightly.
"I wanted to," he replies simply, as though the decision had been easy. He finally drags his eyes to look at you. "You make this mess... bearable."
You feel your cheeks flush despite the blood coating your skin. His honesty is unexpected, but it doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Not anymore. You’d seen too much in such a short time to waste moments of purity.
"Dae-ho," you start, but his name on your tongue makes you falter. You take a breath and try again. "I don’t know how much longer either of us will make it here, but... you give me hope in this place, I guess."
His smile is small, but it reaches his eyes this time. He shifts closer, closing the space between you two. "Then we survive for each other. Okay?"
You nod, a warmth blooming in your chest that you hadn’t felt in what seemed like years.
For the first time in what feels like forever, the world outside of this moment feels small. The chaos, the blood, the fear—all of it fades away. In its place is Dae-ho, his presence holding your soul in an unfamiliar but welcome warmth.
You're both specks of dust in a hurricane, and you both know it. But, for this moment, you know you'll have a place to rest in the heart of this chaos. You can't say you're in love, but as he gently rests his hand over yours, you can't say you couldn't be.
So, I kind of love this, lmk what you think ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚

boyfriend headcanons ⟡ d. winchester
pairings: dean winchester x reader, dean winchester x gn! reader
word count: 1.2K
warnings: no use of 'y/n', fluff, one suggestive comment, a smidge of angst, reader is to be implied as a hunter, lowercase intended
a/n: SURPRISE! i made the dean version of bf headcanons. i stayed up until 3am making this bc my mind had ideas and i didn't want to lose them lol (ik im crazy 😁) also technically my first fic for dean lmao
i hope you all enjoy and please reblog and comment, it really helps out!!
𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵
⟡ before dating you:
was super attracted to you before he even said a single word to you
it was definitely lust at first sight (he wouldn't have minded sleeping with you)
then you opened your mouth, and he was like, oh man, they're gonna be trouble, aren't they (as if he isn't trouble as well)
you guys bickered a lot. like A LOT to the point where sam would have to remove himself from the room or get in between you two in order to stop the bickering
the bickering got so bad that sam had to lock the two of you in the motel room sam and he were sharing and didn't let you guys out until the two of you could have a civil conversation
you guys eventually stopped bickering out of malice after finding common ground between the two of you
there was bickering but it read more of an old married couple bantering with one another
then somehow, you guys became friends, and the physical attraction that dean had to you had morphed into something else and then he realized that he liked you
he only confessed his feelings when you had a close call with a ghoul and blurted out his feelings to you when patching you up
⟡ dating dean winchester:
you would describe dating dean as a roller coaster, but like all relationships, it has its ups and downs
it was hard to have vulnerable conversations with dean without the infamous hunters' helper (alcohol lol)
you guys fought a lot at the beginning of your relationship bc you were fighting tooth and nail to get him to at least try and talk to you
you soon realized that you would have to take a different approach to it and eventually let him come to you when he needed it
it took a while, but once he put his walls down and trusted you, it seemed like a weight was lifted off of him when he finally told you a sliver of what was going on in his head
⟡ soft dean!
now, this is where we get soft! dean
we all know that dean is secretly a softy at heart, and you see it in the more quiet moments with him
he'll stare at you when the two of you are researching or when you're bustling around the kitchen, prepping and cooking lunch for the three of you
and without fail, a cute blush will appear on his face, making his freckles pop against the red hue of his cheeks as you catch him staring at you "what are you looking at?" you asked with a wide smile on your face. "just you sweetheart." he tries to play off his flustered state with a wink, but you shook your head, knowing he was a bit embarrassed he got caught staring.
speaking about getting flustered, he loves teasing you and trying to get you flustered with fleeting touches, flirty gestures, and outright whispering the filthiest things that he wants to do you during the most inconvenient times, like if you're on a case or researching
what he didn't take into account when he started it was that you would dish it right back at him
he loves it when you keep him on your toes
⟡ pet names
OH another thing, PET NAMES he loves using pet names for you
we have the usual sweetheart, babe (not baby bc you know you come in a close third after sam and the impala) (he's tried arguing that's not true, but you knew it and understood you came after both of them).
he would def call you honey, beautiful, angel, and some variation of your name/nickname
if he's in a playful mood, he'd probably call you borderline cringe pet names like pumpkin, sweet cheeks, pookie these are the ones you roll your eyes at since he knows you hate them
⟡ love langauges
now, his love languages, his main ones to give are acts of service, physical affection, and quality time, while the ones he likes to receive are physical touch, words of affirmation, and quality time
⟡ physical touch
now, physical touch is a given for dean he's a very tactical man and is a sucker for it
when he can, he'll always be touching you, holding your hand or resting on your shoulder, thighs pressed together while sitting together eating in a diner booth, cuddling while watching a movie or always being in his arms while sleeping together, making out wherever whenever (his favorite place is obviously in the backseat of baby)
but there are days when he needs physical affection from you, and you gladly give it to him, and he's a sucker for you when you play with his hair
PDA, man is shameless with the PDA he doesn't care he will kiss you no matter what and when he can he loves you, and even if he's afraid to say it, he'll definitely show it to you
⟡ acts of service
which brings me to acts of service dean will do anything for you even if you didn't ask for him to do it makes breakfast for you almost every morning, gives you his flannel when you're cold (he loves to see you in his clothes), replaces the lightbulb in your lamp when you mentioned it was flickering, taking care of you when you get drunk (he did this even before the two of you started to date and bickered the entire time), but the list goes on and on
dean just likes to take care of the people he loves (it was practically ingrained into him at a young age)
⟡ quality time
he also likes spending time with you it doesn't matter if the two of you aren't talking and working on your own tasks; he likes being in your presence (it soothes him) with how crazy his life is, he loves the mundane things/tasks he does with you
sometimes, he'll go run errands with you, not bc he's bored and wants to avoid research (which is actually the main excuse at times) but, he likes the sense of normalcy it brings him when the two of you are together, and when you spend time with him
⟡ words of affirmation
now, dean would never admit it to you (or to himself), but he needs to be reassured
his mind is a dangerous place for him, and he can find himself drowning in his self-deprecating and self-destructive thoughts (these are also the days he needs you the most, and your touch is grounding to him)
your words act as a lifeboat for him in the chaotic storm that is his mind and calms them down significantly
he slowly works on his self-esteem and self-worth, but with your help, it's a little easier for him
⟡ protective
this is a given, but he is SO protective of you
dean is a fiercely protective person at his core and will do anything and everything to keep the people that he loves safe, and now that includes you
some arguments were had when dean was being overbearing and flat out refusing to let you go on certain hunts with them bc it was too dangerous. you had to remind him that you were a hunter before you met him and will continue being one until the day you decide to try and retire or die
he doesn't like it when you hunt alone, and so he always tries to come with you or send sam with you if he's indisposed for some reason
he's only like this bc he can't lose one of the best things in his life

Respect for the Dead
By Lois Lane and Clark Kent
1,436 words
By now most of the world has been shaken by the news.
Ghosts are real! And ghosts are in danger! The original publication written by Lois Lane can be found here but we are not here to follow that well trodden avenue of discussion.
Here at the Daily Planet we have elected to focus on speaking to the ghosts themselves, rather than debate their existence alongside our fellow papers. During the hunt for the new source of Kryptonite that sparked this discovery Lois Lane made contact with one Danny Phantom. Originally he chose to anonymous but since the outpouring of support from much of the world he has since chosen to come forward publicly.
Given that the ghostly teenager is operating as a hero similar to our own Superman much of his personal history could not be shared. What was safe to share however was very different from what this reporting team had been expecting.
We had gone in prepared to hear the story of what caused a ghost that looks like a schoolboy to lead a life of ghostly vigilantism.
What we got was sweetly sarcastic individual giving us amusing anecdotes of his start as a hero, descriptions of the stranger habits he's gained since his death, and many many tips on how to politely interact with a ghost. At our confusion (who knew there were so many different types of ghost!) Phantom went on to explain and correct several common misconceptions about ghosts. So without further ado; here are the highlights of that discussion.
We begin with what was given to us as the number one rule of human/ghost etiquette. Never ask the individual, be they glowing werewolf, ghostly lunch-lady, or undead rock star, about the circumstances of their death.
It seems simple does it not? A matter of everyday politeness, and yet that is the number one reason for communication breakdowns between ectoplasmic entities and still living humans. Fortunately for the health of the interview this reporting team did not make that mistake. Phantom did not explain the nature of the offense but did not need to. It was clear that the, until then, friendly conversation would have ended abruptly if we had gone any farther down that path.
What we were encouraged (and warned) to talk to a ghost about was their obsession. As Phantom explained, "It's what drives a ghost, why we are still here, or why we formed at all."
When asked about his own obsession Phantom laughed a bit and said, "I'm a bit young for a ghost, so I don't really have one yet, I bounce around a lot. My doctor, he's a yeti, says it's normal for me though! The options are all over the place though. I know one ghost that haunts the high school to prevent bullying, a really nice guy. Another just wants to have her music heard by the world. Unfortunately her music brainwashes people to love her so we aren't super close. Or another that is all about granting wishes, but not in a singing blue genie way, in a fairy tale way, it's a mess whenever she gets over here."
That seems to be a common theme in ghostly/human interaction. Ghosts largely mean no harm but the pursuit of their own obsessions can have devastating effects on any that stand between them and their goal. Something to keep in mind if you're ordering pizza when the Box Ghost is at large.
Hoping it wouldn't cross into the realm of ghostly faux pas we went on to ask how old Phantom is. Once again Phantom seemed somewhat awkward although no more than what seemed to be his baseline when talking to (self claimed) famous reporters, saying only, "Time works differently in the realms. It can be really weird sometimes, you'll be talking to someone that looks like a toddler only to learn that they were last in a human world during the 1400s or something."
As Phantom continued to share however, the everlasting aspect seemed to be the least interesting part of the Infinite Realms, or the Ghost Zone as the Doctors Fenton, previously mentioned as ghostly experts here, call the place where the vast majority of ghosts dwell.
Ghostly yetis practicing medicine, while certainly not the least of the inhabitants were just the start. Phantom went on to share with us a sampling of the being he has encountered in his travels, medieval women moonlighting as temperamental dragons, the very concept of time, a warden of any ghosts that cross his path, and of course the ubiquitous creepy toddler so often featured on the silver screen.
According to Phantom up until extremely recently (whether by ghostly or human terms we were unable to determine) the Infinite Realms was closed off from our own home except for the occasional haunting. Which was explained to us by the telling of what was, to Phantom, a very funny joke about pop culture influencing ghost culture as people died and brought it over with them. From this we can glean several things. That the realms of the living and the dead have never been so far apart as it would have seemed to the living. That the near future will hold many changes as major religions, governments, and the common people hear what the dead have to say as they weigh in on what respect for the dead really means. And that while many things do translate, ghostly humor is not one of them.
Although of course that may be that, despite his real age being possibly many times our own - combined, Phantom is still eternally a teenager. And a teenagers jokes are often incomprehensible to any who do not share that state.
When asked about the sudden ghostly interest in our own living Earth Phantom had this to say, "Lots of ghosts want to go to the lands of the living. Especially anyone that used to be alive themselves. And anyone that didn't is curious what the fuss is about. Earth is so different from the ghost zone but it's still where a lot of us came from. If someone gets a chance to hop through the portal they'll go, to see how things have changed, or to keep things from changing, or just to stretch their obsessions. Really it's a chance to go home, just for a little while," he said, reminding us that for all they look like aliens ghosts are just as human as you or I.
With a few caveats.
The portal Phantom spoke of is an invention by the Doctors Fenton, Ectobiologists. Up until recently Jack and Maddie Fenton had been the worlds foremost ghostly experts, building a portal to the "Ghost Zone" in order to study what up until recently had been considered to be a non-sentient classification of emotional ectoplasmic imprintation.
We spoke to the researchers after our interview with Phantom, at his request. Despite the recent evidence come to light the couple remain the foremost (living) human scientists in the field. When asked about the setback to their work they had this to say, "We were devastated of course. To learn that we won't be able to study spooks -" Jack Fenton broke off there, at an extremely well executed elbow jab from Maddie Fenton who then said. "We got an extreme tunnel vision, a hazard of obsessive science. We were told we were wrong about the existence of ghosts for so long that we forgot to check that we were correct about their nature. We look forward to pivoting to ghostly anthropology and human/ghost interaction technology."
Ultimately we did not learn any groundbreaking secrets, but then if a ghost willing to go on record ( a written record at least, our recorded transcript of the conversation was near unusable due to static) you sit down and listen. We can never anticipate what a reader will take from an article but if we could make a suggestion? In this reporting teams opinion, the balance of ghost and human realms is not unlike the inversion of a mirror. We are reflections of one another. Opposite, yes, and dangerous to one another for it, but ultimately we are all the same. After all what is a ghost but emotion and ectoplasm (according to current science)? And for all that we try to rise above it, what is a human but emotion and flesh?
Fin.

So about that Dropout Tweet...
There's a common trend in influencer/ content creator apologies, where the person doing the apology will say they are sorry for the harm that they did, claim they are taking ownership of it and using the whole situation to become a better person, etc. etc. Usually in a way that makes it sound suspiciously like it was written by ChatGPT.
And then they'll go on to say something along the lines of "But we've been getting a lot of death threats guys, and that's bad!" As if the fact that they're getting death threats somehow absolves them of at least some of the guilt of whatever it is that made the apology necessary in the first place. As if it means they're the real victims here.
Apparently Dropout decided to just skip the "ChatGPT apology" part and jump straight to the "We're getting physcal and legal threats" part. Followed up with them once again saying they support Palestiniens and ending it with "We reject antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all forms of bigotry, and welcome all to our platform who treat others with respect, empathy, and human dignity."
And they did it on Twitter, and only Twitter. You know, the website that's notoriously overrun by Nazis. Nothing on Tumblr or Instagram, where the original statement that sparked all of this (which has since been taken down) were posted.
@dropoutdottv, @samreich, this is not listening to the Jewish members of your community who are speaking out about antisemitism. This is reinforcing the antisemitism that those Jewish members of the community are speaking out about. Because what this Tweet does is paint everyone who spoke out against the antisemitism in your original post with the same brush as the people who were sending you threats.
Which, let me be clear, they should not have been doing and I wholeheartedly condemn.
But the actions of the people sending you threats of violence and threats of legal action do not invalidate the things being said by the people who haven't threatened you with anything worse than a boycott. I have literally seen people say "the fact that they got threats just proves they were right." Is that the outcome you were trying to achieve with this?
People who did bad things get death threats all the time; refer back to the beginning of this post. Does that make their critics wrong then, too? Or is it only now, when the accusation being made is that a nerdy comedy network beloved by people on the left did an antisemitism?
I honestly can't tell if you have no publicist helping you out with one, a bad publicist that needs to give you your money back, or an evil genius publicist that knew that if you made a post like this one, it would distract from the fact that you're being accused of antisemitism, maybe even act as a dog whistle to to paint anyone who accuses you of being antisemitic of being "Zionists" (meant in the derogatory way, where people claim they're only talking about people who uncritically support the Israeli government and their actions in Gaza, but then in practice will use it against anyone who believes Israel has the right to exist, including those who want a two state solution, whose hearts break for the people in Palestine, and call Netanyahu a fascist and probably want him gone more than even the people calling them "zionists" do). Maybe even make up for all of the subscriptions you're losing over this and even gain a few by catering to the antisemitic leftist crowd.
Is that really the kind of culture you want to cultivate? If not, then do better. Acknowledge the Jewish voices that are speaking out. Listen to them. And do it in a way that doesn't bring up any other marginalized group. Because like...fuck, man, I reject Islamophobia, and all forms of bigotry too. And I'm sorry you guys are receiving threats; that truly does suck and I hope everyone that works for you guys are staying safe.
But you're specifically being accused of antisemitism. Can you really not reject it all on its own without including other forms of bigotry in the same statement?
And do it on a platform that *isn't* run by an infamous antisemitic, and overrun by more antisemitics? (You can turn off comments and reblogs on Tumblr and comments on instagram, in the same way you disabled replies on your Tweet, you know.)
Here, I'll even write the statement for you: "Earlier this week, we made a statement regarding accusations that Dropout was platforming zionists. At the time, we made a statement focusing on our support of the Palestinian people. We stand by this statement. However, we have received feedback from several members of our community that some of the things that we said were inappropriate insensitive to the Jewish people. "Zionist" and "Zionism" mean different things to different people, ranging from "people who support the Israeli government's actions in Gaza" to "people who believe that Israel has a right to exist and the Jewish people have the right to self-determination." We had meant it in the context of the former definition, but we understand that many Jewish people identify with the later, including many people who are disgusted by the Israeli government's actions in Gaza, and we should have been more sensitive to this fact. Additionally, we would like to reiterate that, to our knowledge, nobody who has appeared on Dropout has openly stated support for the Israelie's actions in Gaza, and several of those accused have voiced their support for a free Palestine. We would like to take this moment to remind everyone that just because a person is Jewish, and may have ties to Israel, does not inherently mean they condone the actions of the Israeli government in Gaza, and to suggest otherwise is antisemitic. We at Dropout reject all forms of antisemitism and are committed to providing a safe space to everyone regardless of religion or ethnic background. We apologize if we made the Jewish members of our community feel like that was not the case."
See how easy that was? I feel something like this is the bear minimum, and if you had said the things in the last three paragraphs from the start, you could have avoided having to say everything in the first two paragraphs and the apology at the end.
That's...pretty much everything I have to say on the matter. To anyone reading this: Do not use other Jewish people to silence Jewish voices.
Do not use people of other marginalized groups to silence Jewish voices.
Just...maybe just listen to what we have to say without twisting our words and putting words in our mouths? Maybe?
Thanks for reading.
I'm so tired.

dick grayson instagram hcs
basics
we are pretending dick is not a cop in this because i said so!
he's a professional model but also does perform at a local circus as a special guest
he's not actually going to the olympics (yet) but the american team has been trying to contact him for the better part of the decade so maybe you can convince him to go
he's kind of like one of your friends who you think is chill and normal but then you go to their ig and you find out they're something of a local celebrity?
everybody in gotham already knew him as bruce wayne's son but also he went semi viral on tiktok and got a bunch of new fans (and some edits) out of it
he used to have a less serious pfp but his management convinced him to use this one instead
followers + following
obviously you're there
as well as his friends and family
he manages to get away with following the superheroes since i mean, basically everybody else does as well
also a lot of industry people that he meets, both for modeling and gymnastics/trapeze
highlights
he is an abuser of the story function
will spend any opportunity to brag about his pretty girlfriend and all of the dates and trips you guys go on
he is weirdly good at taking photos, will give you tips on how to pose to get your best angles
also he has a lot of fans so he likes to post a photo of you every once in a while to remind everyone that he's happily taken
will also repost your work related stuff to be like hey look at how cool my gf is at her job!
dude has a million highlights that he updates for the fashion weeks each year
a lot of photos of his looks, him meeting with certain designers, it's mostly his team who posts this
same thing with his shows in the sense that it's usually other people (including you) taking photos of him while he's performing
but this is a more personal venture of his so he asks everyone to send him the pics and he decides which ones to post
will also repost stories from fans who came to the show!
oooh this man posts the most jaw dropping photos of himself
he will have just woken up and post a photo that makes you think it's so unfair how perfect somebody can be
he just likes to post when he feels good about himself and i support!
haley and (i did not come up with a name for your guys' cat so you guys can have fun with that!) also have their own dedicated highlight
it is exactly as cute and wholesome as you would think it is
there are even more highlights if you keep on scrolling. he has highlights for each year's fashion weeks, as mentioned, as well as trips you guys have been on (the most recent is a trip to greece and italy!)
posts
once again he's one of those infuriating sort of famous people who are like fine as hell but they post just enough cute and relatable content that he actually seems like a real and very nice guy (fun fact, he is!)
you can tell immediately when he's been on a trip because he'll have at least 3 posts up and they're all of the same place
you guys are like the photo taking couple
if you weren't good at taking pics before you started dating, his skills definitely rub off on you
he'll do the thing where he gets you to pose for him so he can take a photo of you and then you take the same style of photo for him
it's disgusting you guys have matching photos on your feeds of each other
if it wasn't already common knowledge that you guys are dating, i can imagine the conspiracy theory videos being like guys they were in the same place? at the same time? and they took the same type of pics? i think they're dating
he loves cooking with you (while i personally think it would be really funny if he can't cook, in some of the comics they do mention that he can cook, but either way he enjoys cooking with you)
you guys are like the parent friends who host dinner at their place and there's usually a theme surrounding seasonal ingredients and everything's plated really well
you probably watch cooking shows together and are now you can't serve a dish without some microgreens or sliced radish on top or something
also yes he did plan the picnic and he's quite proud of it
he watched all of those charcuterie board hacks to make the flowers and fancy cheese arrangements
and there were chocolate dipped strawberries, champagne with glasses, and freshly baked cookies (alfred might have helped with that one)
also yes he does wear glasses!!!! only at home when he's reading or staring at a screen too long. his prescription's not that bad
jason ver.

Comics
Y'know how in the old comics, the 'Cap is a Comic book character' AU is basically canon?
Ok, so. Imagine that in Fawcett, Toonforce is an actual and reacurring thing. And outside of it's universe, it's not. Meanwhile Gothamites and others would pick up Fawcett comics and be like 'Oh wow, that would never happen!' when a character runs a mile in the air before looking down and actually falling, Fawcitizens will pick up a DC book, look at all the real physics and the like, and go 'Huh. That's weird. Why did they fall down immediatly?'
Bonus points if mythical creatures are extremely rare in the DC universe to the point people don't think they exist, meanwhile in Fawcett's universe it's so commonplace to see a unicorn, dragon, griffin or talking animal that they find it curious that on the DC comics they read, there are never any of the creatures present in Fawcett, like, at all. What do you mean there's no talking Tigers with suits walking around? In Fawcett, everyone knows at least one talking animal! (Mostly Tawny)
Also, how would the 'Hero from a literal comic book' go? Would the comics be banned from any viewing to keep secret identities? Since, well, if Lex knew Billy's identity from the comic someone gave to him, what stops the public at large to also know? Would the League let Billy in, on the accounts he's overpowered due to his cartoonish antics? Would they know his identity at all? I mean, he could be just a really good cosplayer. It's a good identity cover!
Imo it would be also very fun to play around the idea of 'Oh yeah, this is our resident Dimension traveller, we keep up with him through the comic books.'
And if they knew, how funny would it be for an ACTUAL comic book character being in your superhero team? Imagine some villain knocks Cap down, for sure that he's done for, only to look behind them and find Cap being all like 'Sheesh! I'm glad i'm not that guy!' and the hole were Marvel once laid in, very injured, is now nowhere to be seen!
Interviewer: “So, are the rumors true? You have a new mysterious League member?”
Superman: “Yes! His name's Captain Marvel, and he was the one to help us out on the latest major villain attack, as some of us were off-world.”
Interviewer: “..Captain Marvel? Isn't that the name of that one comic book character?”
Superman, smiling sheepishly: “Well, Captain Marvel sure is a common superhero name, is it not?”

Peanut Butter
Part 1: Anjay
"Seriously Anjay you're eating more of that stuff? Look at yourself, do you really think you need more? You're practically bursting out of your skin already."
Gosh, I almost can't even believe how we got here. If you had asked me if I'd be standing backstage at a local bodybuilding show with a hulked out and glistening version of my best friend Anjay, I'd have for sure thought I were hallucinating off some bad lunch… Funny how close to truth that would end up to be.
It all started 3 days ago when an unannounced package appeared on our doorstep addressed to Anjay. Not only was he not expecting anything, the contents were even stranger. Pulling off the packing paper revealed contents not immediately familiar to two skinny young men like us.
To the left a shimmery pile of purple blueish fabric. Anjay held it up cautiously as it unfurled. The garment presented itself as a bikini, the sight of it filling both of us with an awkward embarrassment of being in possession of such an obscene object.
Anjay quickly dropped it on the table before turning his attention back to the box. I had to lean in closer to make out the next object of mystery. A brown bottle of… tanning oil? "What kind of crazed sex fetish shit is this, David?" Anjay turned to me and questioned.
I didn't know what to say, so I just looked back down at what's left. The remaining item, while on the one hand familiar, only served to confuse further. It was a container of plain old peanut butter. At least something normal, but what on earth did it have to do with any of this? As I picked it up to examine it closer a final item was revealed underneath, and with it an explanation.
"Ohhh" we remarked in unison with the kind of trailing off that makes it clear we're still skeptical. It was a pass for what appeared to be a local bodybuilding show and not just any kind of pass, one for a competitor. That well explained the first two items, not a bikini, but a pair of posers, and not just any tanning oil, the kind used to cake a fake shimmering bronze sheen onto huge muscle heads so they can show off their freakish masses onstage.
The peanut butter could be reasoned to be just a backstage snack for a lunk like the probable intended recipient, but that's where the last mystery comes into play. The name on the badge, it was Anjay's. Realizing the same, he flipped the top flap of the box back to check the address on the shipping label, sure enough it was ours. "Hmph…" he said defeatedly.
In an effort to put a quick and tidy end to the strange past few minutes we had found ourselves in, I offered up a solution. "I guess there must be some other Anjay Bajwa in the area, the show probably just got the wrong address."
Anjay tacitly agreed. I'm sure we both knew the obvious holes in that explanation, our town isn't all that big, and being solidly in the midwest of the united states, Anjay Bajwa was not exactly a common name.
"This guy probably wants this… stuff, right? Should we, uh, try to find him?" Anjay weakly questioned.
I conjured up the image of the intended recipient. Some roided out freak standing wider than a doorway with arms bigger than my head ready to crush someone like me in a single moment. A rush of fear ran down my spine. With a similar picture playing out in Anjay's head, we turned to face each other and in unison uttered "Nah…"
Anjay put the items back in the box and loosely closed the flaps. He tossed it in the corner of the room to hopefully forget about, at least for a awhile.
I wish I could say the strangeness ended there, in fact that was almost true, all the way up to this morning.
I woke up before Anjay. The apartment was bare so I decided to head out early, grab a coffee and a bite, and run some errands. When I got back in the late morning I could sense something was off even before I opened our front door.
Through the opening door I spotted not Anjay, but a nearly naked yoked out freak. I stood frozen for a moment. He was thankfully facing away from me admiring himself in the small mirror hanging on the wall. I spied something familiar, the colorful posers. That's when it hit me, this must be the other Anjay looking for his package. A rush of fear shot down my spine, what if he's pissed we had it? Just look at those fucking arms, that back, he could pulverize me without breaking a sweat.
I stood there long enough for the creature to take notice. As he turned to face me, my fear took it's place as a side dish, with a main course of bewilderment. It was Anjay, my Anjay, from neck up at least, or what's left of it. Finally I broke my silence exclaiming "What the hell, man?!"
"Dave! I'm soo glad you're home! Bro, drop that stuff but hold onto your keys, we gotta hurry!" I instinctively stepped out of the way as he came powering towards me. In another second he was out the door, a gust of wind cast from his wide torso the only remnant by the time I had spun around. He was halfway down the hallway by the time I made it out the door. I was astonished he could move so fast with how big his legs had gotten, they clashed with every step yet he was practically sprinting to the parking lot. Still he was clad in nothing but those posers, but passerby's opted to say nothing, either terrified by the sight in front of them or insanely aroused.
Thankfully I hadn't locked my car doors, otherwise Anjay might have ripped the door clear off the hinges. The shocks of my late model sub compact protested as he slammed his weight into my passenger seat. Jeez, how much does he, does Anjay weigh now? Following his lead, I quickly hopped into the car myself. As I got in though, I slammed into what felt like cement, but turned out to be Anjay's arm.
"Huh, sorry bro, not used to my new width." Did he always say bro so much?
"Where exactly are we going in such a hurry?" I ask. That's when he pulled out another familiar item, the badge, pointing at it and exclaiming "Remember this? The expo center!"
"You've got to be kidding me!" too much had happened, too much had changed, it's all I could blurt out. "Look at me Dave, I'm gonna clean up bro!" Okay, that's a bro every sentence. "C'mon, we're gonna be late!" I took a second to sit and process as he sat by anxiously… "Okay, fine we'll go, but you gotta tell me what the hell happened to you."
Anjay was more than happy to tell the story of his morning. He started before I could even shift into reverse.
"Bro! oh my god bro, you won't believe it! So I woke up and there was like nothing in the house, but then I remembered that peanut butter from the other day. I grabbed a big ol' spoonful and plopped my ass on the couch."
As he spoke I found it hard to pay attention to the road, he was so animated, only exaggerated by his newly huge muscles, they were bulging everywhere at the slightest movement.
"A few minutes later, I started feeling this fuzzy feeling, I didn't know what it was, but it felt good. Bro that's when I noticed something else, my body was moving under my clothes, I lifted up my shirt and I had abs, abs bro!"
He took the opportunity to point at his obvious abs, flexing as he did.
"Once I connected the dots I practically ran back to the tub and dug back in… and before I knew it I looked and it was half gone! I knew I had fucked up, so I ran to the bathroom to check out the damage."
"My clothes were pulling apart at the seams, huge fucking peaks ripping through the arms, pecs busting out the front." He flexed each muscle group as he called it out. "Fuckin' delts, abs, quads, lats, traps, my god bro, you have no idea how good it felt, how good I feel!"
I recognized some of those words as he said them, using his obvious context clues for the ones I didn't. I had no idea Anjay was so knowledgeable about muscle.
"I didn't want to completely freak you out." Mission decidedly not accomplished. "So I tried to find something to wear, but the only thing that would fit were those posers… when I slipped them on bro oh shit, they felt so good, I looked so good, but then something else happened. My mind started filling with all this new knowledge… muscle groups, workout routines, diets, supplements, cycles, poses! Before I knew it I was a champion bodybuilder, through and through!"
"Yeah, you can say that again…" I said acknowledging the physical embodiment of his statement. "I'm worried those posers might of sucked some knowledge out of you Anjay, since when do you use bro as a punctuation mark?"
"Haha, don't be silly bro, I've always talked like this… and call me AJ."
AJ? I sat there just wishing for my friend Anjay back, not this beefed up bro'd out version of him. Hesitantly I continued, "Ok… AJ, I just didn't know you were so into muscle?"
"I wasn't…" he paused "at least I think I wasn't, but I mean look at me bro, who wouldn't want this?" With that he raised both of his arms up to flex. As he did his lats? flared out and brushed my shoulder. "Shit, I didn't even know you could even have muscles there."
"Bro I got muscles everywhere and then some. Look at the class on my badge, super heavyweight… damn right! Fuck, I'm so pumped, I'm gonna crush it!"
Anjay… I mean AJ, had his bare foot on the ground before I had even come to a full stop upon arriving. Again I followed in tow. Unlike at the apartment, the sight of a muscleman clothed only in a shiny pair of posers was of shock to no one inside. It's what they're all here to see, what I was here to see I guess?
He led us straight backstage, scattered around were other men and their own companions all getting ready for their time onstage. Looking around I was shocked to realize that AJ was the biggest of any of them.
"Bro, take this," he handed me the bottle of tanning oil "you gotta help me tan up."
I was taken aback "I uhh… well I mean, I don't uhh." I looked around, elsewhere many men were doing the same, but I couldn't I mean, we're friends, but I.
"Fine," he grabbed the bottle back "I'll get started."
He dotted the bronze tan across his chest and started rubbing it in, following it up with his legs and arms. If you thought he looked insane before, with the shimmery coat of tan his new freakish form really popped. Halfway through, I heard his gut grumble, he turned back to grab something else, the peanut butter.
---
"Seriously Anjay you're eating more of that stuff? Look at yourself, do you really think you need more? You're practically bursting out of your skin already."
"I told you bro, call me AJ. Anjay sounds so… formal. As for this," he says as he gulps down a spoonful "I'm lickin' this baby clean…" "Now, I've done as much as I can, I need your help buddy, I can't reach my back." He contorts his arms up and over or behind and up showing just how far he is from reaching.
"I guess there's one downside to all those shiny new muscles," I quip.
"I wouldn't call it a downside, not when I have a bro like you…" with that he made a little pouty face unbecoming of his brutal form. I relent and swallow my awkwardness. "Hand me the bottle." His eyes light up.
I walk around AJ, and I mean around, and find myself staring at the contrasted light patch of his wide back. Man, I really wish I had gloves for this, I lament as I squirt a dollop into my palm. Distributing it between my hands I took a deep breath… here goes nothing.
I feel a jolt of electricity run though me as I make contact. Something's changed, something's flipped. I watch myself as I spread the bronze coating. The back in front of me is the same, but the interpretation has changed. It's not shocking, nor disgusting, it's a thing of beauty. I zoom out in my head, my god, the whole thing is, he is, AJ is. I feel my hands gliding over the many ridges of his back, turning perfection into more perfection. That's when I notice something else, the effects from the latest bite of peanut butter… he's growing. I can see his flesh expanding between my fingers, I can feel it press ever so slightly more against my hands. I've never felt so connected to AJ and I know he can feel it too. The world around us taking a backseat to our own shared reality.
I reapply and venture my hands further down south ensuring that his colossal glutes get the attention they deserve. I pull down his posers, ensuring every inch gets covered. Before I know it my fingers found themselves deep inside as I gently tease his hole. Electricity shoots through me again as I watch him squirm.
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice a figure coming in hot to our left. Fuck, we're busted, I think, followed up quickly by a different thought, wait, what the fuck am I doing?
The figure comes into focus, it's a frantic respectfully beefed up man in an official looking polo.
"There you are!" he yells out to us as I casually snap AJ's poser back into place. "You missed check-in, you better come with me right now if you don't wanna get DQ'd."
Not allowing for any protest he grabs AJ's hand to lead him away, muttering under his breath as he does, "These lunks, the big ones can't hold a thought in their head outside of their next rep…"
AJ grabs the peanut butter as he stumbles, then walks away. In between bites he shouts back "Grab a seat bro, I'll be lookin' for ya!"
With nowhere else to go I follow his instructions and find a seat in the amphitheater. In the relative calm I have a moment to process the events of the past few hours. Here I am, sitting at a bodybuilding competition waiting for my best friend to walk onstage and show off his insane muscles. I thought about how I feel about that, I have a vague recollection of being scared and confused, but now it seems clear. AJ's got muscles, he's a bodybuilder, of course we're at a bodybuilding competition. The only thing I feel now is anticipation.
I flash back to backstage as I sit and wait. I can't get the image out of my head. His muscles… so big, so hot, muscles are hot, AJ is hot, fuck! AJ is hot! I can't wait to see him again, to touch, I shiver. Almost on command the lights in the amphitheater lower to signal the start of the show.
Competitors start marching onstage, they all have nothing on AJ, I think, only confirming more as they continue to appear. The stage slowly fills as each hits their mark. Still no sign of AJ. I briefly worry something happened to him.
But then, the backlights of the stage are snubbed out by a hulking figure. It steps out under the stage lights. It's unlike any other man up onstage, it's hard to believe it's man at all. It's AJ.
A hush washes over the amphitheater. You couldn't just see, but you could feel his movements, you could hear him coming. The thuds of his footsteps, the stretch of his posers trying to hold back the mass he's become.
He hasn't even flexed a muscle yet but all eyes were on him. I had no idea a man could be so beautiful. He is absolutely bursting with muscle. Every limb, every surface stacked with veiny glistening meat. I find myself getting hard. I stroke my cock through my shorts and make note of many other men in the audience doing the same.
AJ is wearing a cocky smile confirming that he is aware of all our gazes. He coyly takes his place in the lineup, pretending that there's any possible way the show will go on as planned now that everyone has seen him.
To their credit, they did attempt to run though a few poses, but even those onstage found it hard to hold form when their attention was quickly snapping back to their muscled colleague. Noticing this, AJ steps forward to give everyone what they wanted, his juicy up body, up close and personal.
AJ goes through an entire routine like he's spent ages perfecting every pose. His front double bi threatens to encase his head in delt and bicep meat. His ab and thigh positively does. And those thighs, wide sweeping drops of muscle, transforming into carved marble columns as he stomps down.
He turns around to face the other competitors, winking at their astonished faces as he does. It's time to give everyone else the a view of what they've been seeing. His lat spread seems to just go wider and wider without any sign of stopping. And his glutes, my god, they're absolutely planetary.
Spinning back around, AJ playfully takes a customary bow indicating the end of the show. It was indeed the end of the show and he needn't move from that spot on center stage. Not wanting to keep the godlike figure waiting, officials rush out and crown him champion.
There's no lineup. Second, third, who cares, everyone else is a blur. He's first, second, and third both in size and perfection. Medals in hand, AJ turns and leaves the stage, leaving the crowd to reflect on what they just witnessed.
I find AJ backstage, swarmed by all types, attendees, officials, media, competitors, they all couldn't get enough of him, couldn't get close enough to him. He sees me and pushes his wide body through the crowd like it's nothing. He doesn't even skip a beat as he scoops me up and carries me out of the room.
I can tell I weigh nothing to him. I'm a warmup weight. Even without being terribly stressed, his muscles were putting on a show for me. I watch his biceps and pecs bulge to hold me, just taking in the sensation of being cradled by muscle. We lock eyes and smile knowingly.
AJ whisks us away into a side room away from the crowd and gently sets me down in front of him. The room is bare aside from us and the plastic taped on walls and floor for tan smearing muscle beasts like AJ. Not exactly what you'd call ambiance, but it didn't matter. We have all we need.
Without saying a word I step forward and place my hands on his chest. He flexes in approval. I feel a jolt run though me as I feel his pecs shift from beautiful pillows to striated boulders. I lean down and press my cheek against his cobblestone abs. I linger just feeling the motion of his gut contracting and expanding with every breath.
I bring my hands down to his posers and slip them down, his dick pleasingly flops out already semi-hard. As he comes to full mast I realize it's larger than I remember. It didn't grow as much as everything else, but it's still impressive. A stiff golden rod setting itself out from his dark bronzed quads.
I wrap my lips briefly around just the tip before taking it in deep with a skill like I had done this hundreds of times before. I'm in ecstasy as I feel AJ fill me so completely, as I hear him moan with pleasure while I hit all the right spots, as I watch his quads twitch up close and personal with every suck. His movements and breaths become sharply staccato as I take him to climax.
AJ grunts with gorilla-like intensity as he rockets three hot, huge, loads down my throat. I stand up and wipe my lips as AJ comes back down to earth. Once he does, he chooses to finally break the silence with, "It's your turn now, bro." His voice booms deeper than I remember, the statement hitting me like a ton of bricks. He turns around and fully drops his posers, struggling briefly against his quad meat as he does.
My already erect member twitches even harder at the sight of his uncovered ass. Even more so when he leans forward and his massive cheeks split. I hastily drop my pants and am practically pulled in like a vortex. I place my soft hands on AJ's granite glutes before inserting my cock into his waiting hole. I'm glad I went in so deep with the tan earlier, it serving as rudimentary lube.
As I begin to thrust, I watch the dancing mountainous landscape of AJ's back in front of me. His ass is magnificent, so firm and tight. Every few strokes he squeezes his mighty glutes ever so little sending pleasure rocketing through me and also reminding me that he could crush my dick to smithereens in a single flex if he wanted to, this only serving to rile me even more. Regardless, it's clear who is in control in this moment, he wants this just as bad as I do.
I collapse forward onto AJ's back as I cum. We both stay in this position for a few seconds while we catch our breath. Standing back up, we make ourselves as decent as we can. AJ pulling his skimpy poser back into place and me pulling my pants back up and trying and failing to wipe the stripes of bronzer now all over my skin and clothes.
I laugh as I look up at AJ. "What?" he asks.
"Sorry, I wore a spot out on your tan, haha."
AJ chuckles to himself as he turns to face me. "Oh shit bro, but look at you" I'm practically covered in splotches of bronzer. "Honestly, doesn't look to bad on ya, have you ever considered bodybuilding?" AJ heartily boasts. We both chuckle with the silly question serving to encapsulate the wild ride we both have been on.
"Something tells me there's a lot more of this to come, but first… this tank bro" AJ slaps his bloated muscle gut, "she's gonna need a lot more than peanut butter to fill 'er up."
With that we head back out together in search of what I assume is an ungodly amount of food to fill up my hulking best friend… boyfriend? possibly.
We're a total mess, anyone looking at us would have no trouble putting together what we just did. We hold our heads high regardless, because who gives a fuck, like you wouldn't if you could. But you can't, so might as well flaunt what's mine. Besides in reality no one is giving me a second glance next to him.
---
In that first stroll together as an item out in the world, AJ and David find themselves in a place of pure joy and contentment, ecstatic about their budding new reality and relationship. Little did they know what was coming next.
Waiting innocently on their doorstep… another package… Wonder who it's addressed to?

Snakes on a post
Another particularly long answer dump since i, once again, have a backlog of things to potentially answer |D
❗️For commonly asked qs please see my BTD FAQ
Got jumpscared with my own old art for a hot minute there LAUGHS.
(For those wondering, the naga doodle from here was attached to the ask)
That is every other Royal that exists in the Nether and also at least some of the demons that challenged him for his Royal title lol.
Believe me, no one was or is more surprised then me XD;
So, the thing about where Rire's ichor manifests is that it kinda exists and doesn't exist at the same time. Meaning that his upper back is where the manifestation point is anchored, BUT it can still manifest with a bit of space in between it and his back hence why it will manifest over his clothes and not through them.
So if you touch where the manifestation point is sans the ichor, than you are just straight up touching his back. With the ichor, he still gets sensory input from the tentacles to his back but it's a lot more soft and muted esp the further away it gets from him. As you've seen implied though, he would feel a very sharp pain if a great deal of damage was done to the ichor where it clusters at the manifestation point, since he'd DEF be feeling that straight in his back lol.
He is definitely a top and the only way he would bottom for anybody is if they somehow forced him to.
Ah i knew i'd answered this a long time ago [finally found it]! Holy crosses (those that have been blessed) can also burn him but they would need to be in contact with him the entire time. Being a Royal he also has more of a tolerance to these than normal demons.
Well, unless said person actually has the undeniable ability to make good on their words, Rire would just stand there rather genially with that little smile he sometimes has and let them finish.
And then he might use them as reverse suggestions for dealing with said person (why would you give him any ideas!!?)
both
In BTD canon it is quite possible that they actually haven't in person. But we are using creative license here haha.
Rire heals a lot faster than a human. Cain is not my character so I don't know how his stacks up.
I've grouped these asks cos they kind of have similar answers - 360° (jk sorry sorry to the second q that is just a very common spelling mistake and I couldn't resist XD; )
Now, even though we mashed all the characs together in BTD, they all actually come from different storylines and so their canons outside the "BTD canon" may differ. This tends to bleed in. With this in mind:
The rules of Rire's canon (eg the concept of Battle Royales and how to become a Royal) don't apply to Cain. Anyway, they don't live in the same place either.
Cain is canonically the oldest and most OP character in BTD lol so yes he is stronger than Rire - you might've noticed, but Rire is never in the same drawing as Cain voluntarily. I play with this along with the "natural weakness" aspect - which I've also referred to as scissors-paper-rock rules XD Basically; demons beat humans, angels beat demons (purely because demons have weakness against holiness).
It would (be insane) but I hope you are not looking at me to fulfil this :d
Not really
His coronation day is a public holiday in his sector so yes XD
Aww thank you very much for your interest! ≧(´▽`)≦ It's really cool that some of you guys want to actually fund such a thing - I'd have thought you'd have enough of him killing you in BTD1 XD Unfortunately, I have no plans for a Rire game at the moment as I'm working on a webcomic which looks like it will take up all my free time (that being said, he will be in the webcomic at some point).
Nope! Although i can kinda see why you might think that lol.
Whatever that one is where he doesn't particularly care what someone else identifies as. It really makes no difference to him or how he will act.
There are viruses in the Nether that if contracted could potentially kill you, yes. Part of being a Royal is becoming a lot more robust than normal Demons though. As for if/when Rire dies, I dunno maybe either in a Battle Royale somewhere thousands of years down the line or by old age (which is rare for a Royal but not impossible if you play your cards right).
If you are asking if he has a heat/rut of some sort, he does not |D
#boyfriend to death#art#rire answer dump#answer dump#doodle#long post#decided to actually redesign what a naga rire would viably look like since the old design was bad XD

false hope (part two) | peter maximoff
・❥・ summary: after getting turned down by peter, you hide away and he has to grapple with his feelings ・❥・word count: 1K ・❥・warnings: none, i think. use of she/her ・❥・ authors note: soooo @jazz-berry gave me the idea for this one and i added a little extra angst to be evil. there might be a part three eventually 👀
* PART ONE *
Peter understood not seeing you the day after the whole incident but when a day turned into two then into four, that’s when he grew concerned. Usually, he saw you at least once a day but since he’d shot you down, he was certain he hadn’t seen you leave your room. He would know, too. He’d spent the days since speeding down the hallway of your room, hesitating to knock. He’d always raise his fist then second guess himself. What if you didn’t want to talk to him? What if you hated him? So, he’d always speed away and repeat the cycle the next day.
It wasn’t like he’d meant to hurt you. Peter cared about you but he didn’t like like you. He was sure of it. Not that he had any experience to go off of in the first place. Nope, he was a bonafide virgin who’d never had a girlfriend. It wasn’t without trying but he just couldn’t ever find someone that could, well, put up with him. He knew he was a handful, that much was obvious. The only person who had accepted him for everything was you and now he’d gone and screwed that up.
The days felt like there was something missing. It was weird that he couldn’t come and find you and whisk you off on some adventure or make you smile with one of his stupid jokes. Come to think about it, you really were the best part of his days. When did that happen? When had you become so important to him and how hadn’t he realised until now? It was totally just in a friendship way. At this point he wasn’t even sure he could have feelings. If it hadn’t happened for him by now, he had the feeling it never would.
Without you, he spent the days either at home playing Pac Man in his basement or talking himself up to try and talk to you (and miserably failing everytime). Peter didn’t make friends easily. He was a likeable guy but he wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. He felt lonely without you although he wouldn’t be admitting that to anyone. Today had been a training day at the mansion so he was hanging about in hopes that you’d finally make your grand reappearance.
His headphones were around his neck, his walkman clipped to his jeans as he dashed past the common room coming to a comical halt when he saw everyone sat in there. Everyone but you.
Peter made his way into the room, jumping over the back of the couch into the free space beside Hank. He sighed dramatically but everyone kept talking between themselves, ignoring him. He just couldn’t have that. With furrowed brows, he sighed louder - and much more dramatically causing them to look at him. Finally, the attention he wanted.
“What?” Jean said.
“Soooooo, just throwing this out there, casually asking but… any of you spoke to…” Peter was cut off before he could finish.
“Yeah, I did yesterday. She’s fine,” Hank shrugged. For some reason, Peter’s insides did a little flip that he didn’t enjoy one single bit. Why would you speak to Hank of all people? He’d never even heard you talk about him before let alone know you were friends with the blue, hairy nerd.
“Great,” he said, his tone clipped, jaw tightening a little. His fingers tapped against the arm of the couch — a sure sign he was a little frustrated. Peter, the chillest guy on the planet, rarely ever got annoyed. It was the way that Hank had cut him to talk about you like he was your new best friend.
“You’re an idiot, you know?” It was Jean’s turn to chime in now. “She is…. or well, was crazy about you and you completely embarrassed her.”
“I didn’t mean to! I… didn’t want to hurt her. I would never want to. She’s my friend. I didn’t realise she liked me like that.”
“Really? It was kind of obvious, Peter. We all could see it. Kind of thought you were into her too with the way the two of you were always together,” Jean tilted her head to look at him, like she was trying. to read him. Nah, Peter was getting out of there as soon as he could. He didn’t need her poking around in his head.
“Whatever, man. It’s none of your guys’ business anyway,” Peter got to his feet with a huff. “Just tell her I’m thinkin’ about her, yeah?”
He pulled his headphones over his ears letting the music calm the nagging feeling in the pit of his stomach. As he walked out of the room, just as he was about to head off back home, he caught sight of you at the bottom of the stairs. His hands fumbled with his walkman pressing the button to turn it off, throwing his headphones back around his neck as he walked over to you.
“Hey,” he said almost nervously.
“Hi,” you spoke quietly, eyes avoiding looking at him.
“I’ve missed you.”
“Sorry. Needed some time.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Peter nodded, scuffing his shoe on the floor. “I get it. Not felt the same without you around. You good?”
“I am. Uh, I… have to go. I said I’d finally come out of my room to get dinner with Hank so….” Without another word, you walked past Peter into the room where everyone was. He turned around to watch as you wrapped your arms around Hank in a big hug. Peter felt it again — the tugging in his chest, the plummeting of his stomach. Seeing someone else’s hands on you was making him burn up from the inside, his fist clenching and unclenching at his side. It was a new feeling for him, something he’d never experienced before but he knew exactly what it was.
Jealousy.
He was jealous.
“Well, shit,” he mumbled to himself. If the feelings he was feeling right now were any indication then Jean was right. He was an idiot…. and he had feelings for you.

A late night at Hogwarts, you and the slytherin boys (all but Tom , who decided he couldn’t be bothered, while having much more “important things to do”) had just gotten back from a quick sneak out. Everyone was already in bed and your mission was to get back to your rooms without getting caught.
“I knew this was a bad idea from the beginning, why do I ever listen to you guys?” Draco wasted no time voicing his complaints “If my father hears about this I’m dead”
Blaise let out a quiet laugh “would you relax we’re gonna be fine” he whispered.
“Yea it’s not like Snape wonders the halls at night aimlessly like a ghost” Theo added.
As if he summoned him they heard foot steps, ones they memorized as the fast paced stomps of their head of house.
“Oh that’s just great” Draco said in an almost ‘see what I’m saying’ type of way.
The three boys scurried off to find a place to hide or make it back to their rooms in time, meanwhile Mattheo pulled you in to a nearby broom closet.
“Why didn’t we just follow them?” you whispered loudly.
“I don’t know, I panicked!” he says in defense.
“It’s really tight in here and I can’t see” you tried moving around but it was no use. The proximity between you two was less than zero.
“Would you be quiet? He’s gonna here us”
Staying silent for a moment, he spoke up again “Not that I’m not enjoying this, but could you move your hand?” you hadn’t realized this whole time your hand was resting on his bottom “oh sorry” seeing as it was so dark you ended up placing them in front of you, yet still somewhere they shouldn’t be.
“Ok…That’s not what I meant when I said to mov-”
“Im sorry but I can’t see. It’s dark in here” you huffed trying to keep yourself quiet.
“God, here-just hold my hand” Mattheo reached for it. Now you were in a dark, tight broom closet holding hands with little to no space, at least “he smells really good”.
“What’d you say?” Mattheo now looking down at you.
“I didn’t say anythi-”
“Noo you said I smell good” even though you couldn’t see him you knew he must’ve had that stupid smirk on his face.
“Well I didn’t think I said it out loud obviously ” you said , beating yourself up internally for your own stupidity. “Well if it makes you feel better, I think you smell pretty” he replied.
“Pretty what?”
“Just pretty, you know, because you’re pretty and you smell nice” thanking him for the compliment, you thanked god for how dark it was in there because that way he couldn’t see you blush at his comment, only wishing this had taken place in other circumstances and less awkwardly.
After what felt like forever you decided to make a run for it making it back to your common room finding the rest of the boys waiting.
“See? I told you we should’ve followed them” Mattheo rolled his eyes at your statement. “That was nice, we should do it again sometime” he joked.
You glared at him lowering your voice so the others wouldn’t hear “ we never speak of this again, do you hear?”
“Yea yea” was all he said making his way towards the rest.
“What happened to you guys we thought you were behind us?” Blaise asked.
You gave each other a side eye and almost as if planned you both said “ we took the long way”.

yuck! part 2 - schlatt x reader
[part one, part 1.5, part two (currently reading), part three]
now listening: yuck - charli xcx 0:40 ──❍──── 2:19 ↻ ⊲ Ⅱ ⊳ ↺
“Uhh…hi. I guess we’re partners?” You chuckled, sitting in the empty desk next to Schlatt, as he glanced up, about to grumble something about just splitting the work 50/50 and never speaking again, until he locked eyes with yours. He felt oddly entranced, needing to know more about this mysterious person he was suddenly partnered with.
“Uhhh, yeah…assuming you’re (Y/N), right?” He said, leaning back in his chair as he looked at the Canvas tab with “PARTNER PROJECT - GROUPING LIST,” reading your name as it was typed on the list next to his own.
“Yep, that’s me. Wanna get started now, or just bullshit and figure it out later?” You smiled, placing your laptop down on the desk next to him, pulling out the seat before sitting down. He smiled, putting his hands behind his head.
“What…are you not interested in 20th Century Russian Literature or somethin’?” He let out a laugh, watching you crinkle your nose in disdain.
“Oh, sorry, didn’t take you as a guy who was into Vladimir Mayakovsky...” You scoffed, opening your laptop to open a Google Doc, assuming you were about to be doing some work in the next half an hour left in this class. Smirking, Schlatt reached over, closing your laptop screen.
“What the hell, dude?” You looked over at him, his smirk starting to piss you off.
“You really thought we were going to work right now…? Be so serious..” He laughed, grabbing his bag before signalling you to follow him. You shook your head in disbelief, looking around. Most of the other people in class had left, your professor giving you time to head to the library with your partners to find the specific pieces of literature you were studying, so you assumed that's where you were heading.
“Needed to get out of there…” He laughed, opening the door for you as the cool fall New York air pricked at your skin. You nodded your head, agreeing with his statement.
“So, to the library we go, then?” You asked, slinging your backpack on your shoulder, quickening your steps to keep up with his long, yet slow, strides. He let out a laugh, one that began to warm you in the pit of your stomach, filling you with butterflies.
“Hell no…just didn’t want our professor to overhear us talkin’ shit on his class…gotta keep up that good grade, yknow?” He chuckled. Listening to him talking, you realized you had recognized his voice as the one person who spoke at least a little bit of Russian in the class, and managed to understand the stories in the language they were written in to discuss in class. Your eyes widened only slightly, raising an eyebrow at him.
“You mean to tell me…you don’t actually like Russian literature? You speak Russian!”
“Only bits and pieces, princess. Besides…it’s so fuckin’ boring. Learned Russian in high school because it sounded fun…thought if I took this elective course it would be the same. Clearly I was wrong because this is the stupidest fuckin’ class I’ve ever taken.” He groaned, your mind only able to focus on his usage of ‘princess,’ trying to hide the heat you could feel creeping across your cheeks. You hummed, nodding at him.
“Honestly…I signed up for the wrong class. Thought I clicked on 20th Century American Literature, and not Russian…shouldn’t have scheduled my classes at 2 AM, I guess.” I said, laughing at the memory. I saw him begin to smile, shaking his head.
“Got partnered with someone who often operates in delirium? God really must hate me..” He groaned, opening the door to the student union center, walking to a bustling common area. You knew you just met the guy, but he was already beginning to feel like a close friend, close enough that you took your hand and swatted him on the shoulder, giving him a disappointed look.
“Hey! I’m not that bad, I don’t make all my decisions while delirious! Just…some of them.” You said, crossing your arms with a huff. Schlatt smiled, staring at you, an unfamiliar warm sensation filling his gut. It honestly made him kind of queasy, swallowing down…whatever it was with a shake of his head, moving on with the conversation at hand. Schlatt swore to himself that day that he would never let that feeling back into his body if he had any say about it.
“Hey…did you hear me?” You asked, snapping your fingers in front of his face, as Schlatt was shook back to reality, away from that distant memory. His spine chilled with the memory of your meeting, the familiar queasy feeling creeping back into his gut as he faced you.
“Y-Yeah…I did. Thanks, toots. You’re not half bad yourself…” He felt the need to swallow imaginary bile down his throat as he choked out a sentence or two, not wanting to piss you off. He hated having these…feelings. Not used to them, he shook his head slightly, wanting to clear his mind.
You frowned, hoping he wouldn’t see your upset in the darkness of the night. You rolled back onto your back, looking up at the stars once more, as if you were seeking an answer. Why was he being like this? Were you really such a bad person? Why couldn’t he open himself up to the possibility of more?
He, too, returned his gaze to the night sky, asking his own series of questions to higher powers. Why was he feeling so…mushy? Was it worth it, to let down his guard and accept thoughts of…settling down? Why did he feel so nervous all of a sudden when he looked at you? Speaking of you…he glanced over, noting the obvious sadness in your face. Sighing, he pulled you closer to his chest, gently whispering in your hair.
“It’s nothin’ against you, toots. Just…wasn’t expectin’ you to come out ‘n say that…” He mumbled, taking in the moment with you. You sighed, knowing you couldn’t keep yourself mad at him for too long, though your gut began to churn.
“It’s…it’s alright. We should be getting back to the cabin…it’s getting late, and I’m getting cold.” You said, sitting up. He sighed, following in suit standing up as he held out his hand, grabbing yours to help you stand up. Silently, he picked up the blanket, wrapped an arm around your shoulder, silently making your way back to the cabin.
The air was tense when you walked in, a lot of unspoken words that were needing to be shared between you both…yet nothing happened. You both went your separate ways for the night, you doing your skincare routine, changing into more comfortable clothes, as you began to wander the cabin, hoping Schlatt would be out of whatever funk he was in, so you could talk.
Tiptoeing down the stairs, you saw Schlatt outside on the porch, leaning against the railings looking out into the night. You could tell by the look on his face he was still engulfed in his thoughts, so you decided to not instigate and rather cozy up in your room for the rest of the night. You got comfortable in your bed, turning on a bedside lamp as you pulled the book you were reading from out of your bag, deciding to get a chapter or two in before you inevitably fell asleep for the night.
Outside, Schlatt sighed, bringing his hands up to his face, trying to rid himself of all of the…confusion and feelings he was currently having. He liked to live his life plain and simple–nothing with strings attached, really only ever relying on himself for anything he needed. Being alone was simple to him, he was able to get work done, live the life he needed to live, and he had the connections that were necessary to fulfill certain human needs, social and physical. Now, two years into this friends with benefits situation the two of you had created for yourself, he found himself stuck, these unfamiliar feelings occurring way too often recently, and he had noticed your change in demeanor, clearly wanting something more from the connection you were having.
“I can’t keep fuckin’ doing this…” he grumbled to himself, resting his elbows on the railing below, looking up towards the sky. The last time he felt like this was when he met you in college, swallowing the feelings back then because he knew there was no way in fucking hell a person like you would like a guy like him. He was cocky, didn’t give two fucks what anyone thought about him, and, admittedly, didn’t take as much care of himself as he probably should’ve. He glanced down at himself, seeing the weight he had added on in an attempt to make himself less attractive to the people who were constantly thirsting over him online every day, shaking his head. Now that these feelings were bubbling back up about you, he began to feel the same way he did back then—trying to act self-assured, but really, deep down, he was insecure, thinking he wasn’t enough for you. He thought he heard the wooden floors inside the cabin creak, and in his attempt to not show any moment of weakness to you, he rolled his shoulders back, taking a deep breath before turning around. No one was there…he sighed. Shaking his head, he decided it would be best to head in for the night, maybe he could see if you were still up and apologize for the way he acted while you were star gazing. He really was an asshole at that moment, but it was completely unintentional. It was like his brain had shut off, unable to understand whether or not that statement was in a platonic way, or if you had meant more by it, and he was forced to go back to his factory settings of being a dickhead and pushing everyone away. He grumbled to himself, checking to make sure the fire would be plenty to keep you both warm for the night before heading up the stairs, looking for you.
He walked into the room you had decided was his, first, seeing how you nicely placed his bag on his bed, having taken out his pajama shorts and a black t-shirt, knowing how he probably would’ve wanted to immediately change into something more comfortable when you came back from star gazing. He sighed, shaking his head. No matter how big of a dick he was towards you, you always showed him just how much you genuinely cared for him. He felt a pang of guilt surging through his body, knowing that you were probably still upset, sulking somewhere instead of enjoying one another’s company as was planned when you both first arrived.
“Really do know how to fuck up a good thing, don’t I?” He whispered, leaving the room and heading to the one that he knew must’ve been yours. He saw a soft light seeping from under the door, thinking you were still awake he lightly tapped on the door.
“Toots? You still awake…?” He called out, tapping once more before deciding to open the door to peek in. It’s not like he hasn’t seen you naked before, hell, his face, tongue, hands, and cock have thoroughly explored every part of your body, but he still didn’t want to intrude in your personal space. Taking a peek in, he sighed in relief, noting that you were asleep, book in your hand with the bedside lamp on. He shook his head, chuckling to himself about your position before walking in. He gently took the book out of your hands, gently placing your bookmark in the place you were at, as he knew from prior experience you would be exponentially pissed off at him if he messed with where you left off in your book. He watched you gently, wanting to see if you were stirring at all before gently shifting you into a more comfortable position as he pulled a blanket up over your body. He placed the book on your bedside table, shutting off the light before leaving the room, staying as silent as possible as he closed the door and went into his own room. He began to change, placing his bag on the ground before climbing into bed himself.
“Fuck me…” He groaned, tossing over to lay on his side, “fuck these stupid feelins…shit’s not worth it..” his mind continued to race, bouncing between his vow to himself to never let himself slip up and have feelings for anyone, and the way his heart began to beat out of his chest the moment he met eyes with you. He still felt he was right in his beliefs, that having feelings did, indeed, make situations tougher to deal with, but he started to feel a sensation in his gut that was telling him just to give it a chance. It was…it was almost like butterflies, swirling around in his stomach, causing him to groan. He swallowed, before closing his eyes, hoping that exhaustion would kick in and cause him to forget about all these funny feelings in the morning.
Light began to enter your room through the sheer curtains, causing you to begin to wake yourself up. You glanced around, not recalling getting into bed like this, and began to panic as you realized you had no idea where your book was. You quickly sat up, throwing around your blanket before turning to the bedside table, sighing as you saw your book placed gently on top. Looking at the way the bookmark was angled, the cute cat’s head meekly popping out above the pages, you knew exactly who did it…Schlatt. You sighed, rubbing the sleep from your eyes before deciding to slip on your slippers and head out of the room. The fire must’ve burned out in the night, as the coolness of the cabin nipped at your arms, causing you to reach for one of the hoodies you had packed, pulling it over your head before leaving. You listened once you left your room, trying to hear if Schlatt was already up or not, ultimately deciding to peek into his room. You saw him tucked in his covers, slightly curled up, sleeping away. You smiled to yourself, the yearning in your chest telling you to join him making you sigh. Silently, you wished you could join him, curling up beside him, rubbing his sides to wake him. After last night though, you weren’t sure where things were between the two of you, so you shut his door gently, heading downstairs to begin making some breakfast before inevitably waking him up to get the fire going again.
Schlatt laid on the bed, wide awake, his thoughts not allowing him to get a proper night's worth of sleep. He heard the door open, saw the light come in, and silently wished you would come over and join him, hoping to smooth things over with you and reestablish boundaries. He wasn’t sure what those new boundaries would be, but he was hoping it would provide him with reasons not to further develop any more feelings for you, as he was already wildly out of his element with the feelings he was having. He quickly became disappointed, seeing you leave without saying a word. Upon opening the door, he began to feel just how cold the cabin had turned, giving him a chill. He knew sooner or later he would need to go downstairs not only needing to restart the fire, but also needing to talk to you. Groaning, he stood up from bed with a slight stretch, changing into a hoodie and some sweatpants–his shorts were definitely not going to be warm enough this morning when there was no fire in the heater. He braced himself, knowing he needed to get his thoughts in order before facing you. Rolling his shoulders back, he quietly left the comfort of his room and headed down the stairs.
You quietly hummed to yourself, making up some eggs as the coffee finished brewing in the pot. You turned around to grab two mugs, anticipating Schlatt to join you rather soon, knowing the cold would get to him eventually as it was getting to you. Footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs as your back was turned, your actions slowing so you didn’t have to turn and face him right away.
“Mornin’ toots…lemme get that fire goin’ again.” He said quietly, slipping on his boots to check out the firewood.
“Mornin’, thanks.” You sweetly said, turning around to watch him slide his boots on and walk away, sighing. You began to make yours and his coffee, placing the mugs to the side as you then continued to being plating your breakfast. Grabbing his and your mugs, you shuffled into the living room, where Schlatt was loading firewood into the burner, beginning to kindle it with a firestarter.
“I’ll make a mental note to tell Tucker the next time we see him that you used a fire starter in the heater.” You giggled, recalling Schlatt’s annoyance towards Tucker’s disdain over fire starters in a previous conversation, causing Schlatt to laugh before looking up at you. It was like the tension that hung heavily in the air between you had been lifted slightly, as you gestured his mug in your hand towards him. Taking the mug happily, he smiled, quickly thanking you before returning his attention back to the fire.
“Sorry, didn’t feel like sittin’ here like a caveman while we’re freezing our asses off in here this morning.” He let out a light laugh, watching as the fire finally began to spread a little, the heat immediately doing wonders to the overall temperature of the cabin. You sighed, feeling a little more comfortable now that it was going, nodding my head in the direction of the kitchen.
“C’mon, big guy. Made breakfast, just eggs and toast, though. I thought we packed bacon but apparently we never did.” You laughed, placing your mug down on the smaller two-seat table by the biggest bay window in the cabin before grabbing our plates, joining him there.
“What good is this when there’s no meat, toots?” He teased, shaking his head in your direction.
“Hey! Don’t shoot the cook, made do with what the packer packed!” You teased back, knowing he was the one who put together a bag of food items for the two of you on our way out. He jokingly put his hands up in defense, causing both of you to laugh. The silence overtook quickly, as we both ate, avoiding the topic of last night all together. Silently, you wondered if there was any way we could just avoid the topic all together, go back to our lives the way they were, and somehow, some way, in some form get over your stupid crush on him all together.
“So…sorry for bein’ such a dick last night.” He said, quietly, almost as if he didn’t want you to hear him. You sighed, the inevitable has struck. Let’s see where this goes…
“Don’t sweat it. I shouldn’t’ve put you on the spot like that.” He sighed, shaking his head.
“You didn’t do anything wrong…I just wasn’t expectin’ it. That’s all…” It was your turn to let out a sigh, now. You knew he wasn’t really ready to start moving in the direction you wanted things to move in, but you still continued to push that line. Now, it’s made things awkward, and you truly regretted your actions.
“I slipped up. I meant it and all…but I know you. Should’ve warmed you up to the compliment before just shoving it your way…it’s my fault.”
“Hey, now…never said I didn’t enjoy it. Just threw me for a loop. We were supposed to be lookin’ at the stars, not one another.” He joked, making you smile.
“Alright, I’ll give you that one. But…I couldn’t really help myself…” Your voice trailed off as your bottom lip went between your teeth. His eyebrow raised, and you could tell that he was using all his power not to just act.
“Oh, really? Why’s that, sweetheart?”
“Mmm…you’re very tempting, that’s all…” He let out a low growl, and needless to say the conversation was paused at this point, as he took you upstairs.
The rest of your cabin weekend went rather smoothly. After making up with one another, things went quickly, and before you knew it you were back at your shared New York apartment, back to the daily grind. Back to the same old life you lived before, working all day, making love once or twice before going to bed in your separate rooms. You were sick of this cycle, needing more since the moment you briefly shared in the cabin.
Schlatt was a mess mentally since the cabin weekend getaway, still conflicted in what he was feeling. The newly identified butterflies in his stomach constantly making him feel ill on a daily basis. He couldn’t even simply look at you before starting to feel sick, but he tried his best to tough it out so you wouldn’t catch on to his slow yearning. He began working later, sleeping with you just enough to make you think that things were fine between you, needing and using any excuse to stay a safe distance away from you in hopes that his thoughts and feelings would subside. He opened one of his desk drawers, pulling out the paper contract the two of you had made all those years ago. Sighing, he saw both your signatures scrawled on the bottom, the line above it reading absolutely no falling in love, whatsoever!’
Fuck, man… he thought to himself, we’ve really fucked this whole deal over, haven’t we?
He was so lost in his own thoughts, he hadn’t heard you open the door to his office behind him, with the intention of asking him whether or not he was joining you for dinner, or if he was busy working again. Seeing the contract in his hand, your breath got stuck in your throat.
“What…what are you looking at that, for?” Your voice was just above a whisper, still causing him to jump.
“Fuck…” He groaned, putting the paper down on his desk, not turning to look at you. You walked in, leaning on the corner of his desk, looking down at him.
“No…no. Tell me. What are you looking at that for, Schlatt?” You said, crossing your arms. It was about time the two of you finally talked about it all, but you were terrified of things that this conversation could cause, in turn. His lack of eye contact with you spoke volumes, the silence laying on your shoulders like a thousand bricks.
“I…fuck.” He began to explain, finally looking towards you, shaking his head, “I needed a reminder. To remember where we started off at.” His head fell into his hands, looking back up to you after a moment before pushing his hair back through his fingers. You raised an eyebrow at him, skeptical.
“A reminder, huh? Of what exactly?”
“All of our agreed rules, what we expected from one another.” He sighed, trying his best to read your expression.
“Why? Where is this coming from..?” You whispered, afraid he was catching on to just how badly you had caught feelings for him.
“I…I don’t know. I don’t know, it’s all confusing.” He hesitated in continuing, making you think he was hinting at your feelings for him. You sighed, shaking your head, realizing this might be the only moment you have to confess before he changes his mind.
“Alright, I’m sorry. I guess I’ve been…violating our contract. Might’ve developed some feelings…” He didn’t look at you as you confessed to him, lost in thought.
“Earth to Jay..hello?” You started to get angry at his lack of response, “I understand you’re probably upset with me, but if we want this to work between us, we need to talk about it! Giving me the silent treatment and avoiding me isn’t going to do anything.”
He was still rendered silent, your sudden confession catching him slightly off guard. Sure, he had his suspicions, but he didn’t expect you to just come out and say it. He started to feel that sick feeling making its way through his gut. You could barely make his face out, tears welling so strongly in your eyes.
“Fuck you, dude…” You choked out, leaving him alone in his office. He groaned, realizing he had made this into a bigger issue than it needed to be because of his inability to formulate a response. Swallowing the bile making its way up his throat back down, he swiftly got out of his desk chair and followed after you.
“(Y/N)...wait!” He said, seeing your bedroom door slam shut. He sighed, walking closer. He could hear you getting into your bed, light sobs coming from you.
“(Y/N)...please. Open the door, we need to talk about this..”
“Should’ve thought about that earlier, asshole!” You croaked out, tears streaming down your cheeks as you stared at your ceiling. How could he? How could he do that, and then expect you to want to calmly sit down and talk through it all? You shouldn’t even be entertaining the thought, let alone give him the pleasure of thinking of him at all.
“Fuck, I know! I know, I know I should’ve. I should’ve been thinking about all this a hell of a lot sooner!” His voice grew angry, his head leaning on the door with a thud. You laid silently, letting the tears fall as he continued.
“You can’t just hide in there forever, toots…” He said softly, pleading to be let in. You continued to lay, wanting him to get a taste of his own medicine for once in his life.
He hated the feeling in his gut, but he was so conflicted. His heart was telling him to confess, get over this bump in the road, and move on, trying this whole “love” thing for the first time in a long time. His head, though, told him the logical move was ending it all and becoming a recluse, the only thing he could trust to satisfy his sexual needs no strings attached was his own left hand.
“Please, princess. Open the door.” You felt numbed, unable to move, in disbelief that this was even happening.
“Why, so you can tell me we need to end things? That I ruined a perfectly good thing by letting my stupid feelings get in the way? So that you can hang this over my head, as proof that nothing good ever comes from having feelings of any kind for someone?” You said, beginning to let yourself get angry as you neared the door, slowly opening it. You weren’t prepared for what you saw—a red-eyed, tear-stained Schlatt, hands in his pockets looking defeated.
“Not your feelings that are stupid, toots… it's mine.”

Learning to Love
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x FemReader!PlusSize
Warnings: 18+, langauge, angst, fluff, mentions of bullying, body image issues, fat shaming, fake relationship, eventual smut, minor enemies to lovers trope.
Summary: It's not uncommon for you to be shamed for your size, it is however uncommon to be told that no one would ever date you because of it. Rafe on the other hand is used to being called a jerk, that is until he is accused of seeing people for only what's on the surface. It's purely coicidental you two meet right after these accusations are thrown your way. So even though you two don't know each other, and probably never would've looked the others way before this, now you're both going to prove a point. It's simple really, prove others wrong and don't fall in love. Easier said than done.
word count: 3k
→ Part 1
Masterlist
You're used to crude comments, truly. Living in the Outer Banks has proven nothing other than the fact that kooks will always be cruel, even if it's towards other kooks. As long as you're in a bathing suit, something is going to be said. Which is proven true as you lie on the beach, book in hand, and sunglasses hung low on your nose. It's your only day off and you were going to enjoy it. Soak up the sun as much as you can because summer would fade away before you knew it. You had only chosen the two piece bathing suit to get more of a tan, maybe a little extra sun. It's only twenty pages into your book you hear two boys snickering not far from your own set up.
"Look a beached whale, should we call the authorities?" your ears burn red only slightly, after all you were used to it. Honestly you could care less anymore.
"God, she has to know that's gross" the other responds after his bellowing laughs have calmed down. They truly can't be that stupid they don't realize how loud they're talking right?
"No decent looking, hell self respecting man would ever date a girl like that" this punches the air out of your lungs. You knew your body type wasn’t considered attractive. This was common knowledge, but to hear someone say you couldn’t possibly ever date an attractive man is something else entirely.
“I know I wouldn’t” the boys laugh again, hands clapping together as they stare you down like you were the most disgusting thing on this beach.
You’re not upset about what they were saying. You survived highschool after all. Your school had already been divided by kooks and pogues, add in the big girl and that’s a recipe for disaster. You’ve heard the most vile and mean things a person could say. Somehow you came out of it with still a little self respect, hell even some confidence, because if you were anything at all it was strong. You had dated here and there, never had anything stick though. Maybe that’s why this comment resonated so hard with you. No matter how decent a person you meet maybe you’re bound to end up ugly and alone because an attractive man belongs with an attractive girl.
Rafe has had to attend hundreds of useless business meetings since his Dad died. He had wanted this. When he was nineteen and trying to prove to his Dad that he was worth it, but now he was gone. He had no one to impress anymore and at twenty three he carried the burden of being the CEO of an entire company with his last name on it. So that’s how he finds himself inside of dark clubs at noon, sharing a scotch with guys willing to play dirty to get what they want. He often wonders why he had wanted this life so badly. Everything he had believed in for so long was now gone. His Dad, the treasure, and now even kooks and pogues. Ever since his sister had found that treasue social classes had been practically eliminated or at least weren't acknowledged like they were before. All of this had now left Rafe without a sense of self and he desperatley needed something to change.
"Man, why can't they hire pretty waitresses to look at anymore?" Levi, a coworker slurred as he watched their waitress walk away. Rafe noticed her shoulders stiffen because she had heard what he had said. He hated he felt guilty over it.
"It's a bar, not a strip club" Matt, another coworker teased and Rafe rolled his eyes. Four years ago these guys could've been his best friends, and he would've teased the waitress right along with them. Now things were different, he was different.
"I happen to think she's cute" Rafe told them before finishing the last sip of his scotch. He knew when he got back to the office people would give disapproving looks but he didn't know what to do with himself anymore. It was like he was just floating and letting the tide drag him along wherever it wanted to.
"Yeah right" Matt snorted out a laugh and Rafe gave him a confused look as Levi started to laugh along with him.
"Seriously Rafe, you’re way out of her league" Levi told him, his shoulder bumping with his own.
"No I'm not and there is no such thing as leagues" Rafe told them with a pointed look but the boys just continued to laugh anyway.
"Yes there is and the only one's in Rafe Cameron's league are tall hot blondes with legs for miles and tan skin smooth enough slide on" Matt said and Rafe felt his stomach clench as they spoke. Had he unintentionaly maintained a type, only taken someone for their looks? Flashes of ex girlfriends went through his mind and he had realized after all this time he had only taken women for surface things.
“That can’t be true” Rafe shook his head and the boys just chuckled.
“Admit dude, you’re an asshole and you like pretty little things. Nothing wrong with that” Levi said as he slapped his back, taking another sip of his own scotch. Rafe however realized there was everything wrong with that. Yeah he’s been a jerk his whole life but had he ever actually dated a girl he liked? Someone with substance?
“Hell would freeze over the day Rafe Cameron dated someone other than a supermodel” Matt pointed with the scotch in his hand and Rafe just shook his head, eyes scanning over the small crowd that littered the bar. For the first time he was seeing people he never would’ve noticed before.
He wondered if this was a side effect of his life before. Privileged kook, popularity, a need to impress everyone around him. Had women become a part of all of that too? A side effect of a need to please, to be the best. Had he been wasting years of actually meeting someone with a personality due to his natural self destructive ways? God he hoped not. Then again he couldn’t recall ever really liking the girls he dated, he usually just tuned them out and used them when he needed to make an appearance with a date. He had never actually dated someone for fun. Worst of all he hated that everyone knew this of him. That he dated for appearance instead of happiness. He wanted to change that.
You could only take so much of the harassment coming from the two boys on the beach, so after three hours you declared you’d had enough sun and started to pack your things. When the cover up slipped over your head you didn’t miss the applause coming from them. Rolling your eyes you grabbed your bag and started the hike up the beach. You needed a drink.
Rafe hadn’t been able to shake the thoughts over the girls he dated. After a very long recollection of every girl he had ever brought around he couldn’t think of one he actually enjoyed spending time with. With this in mind he dismissed Matt and Levi back to the office, claiming he’d find a way back on his own. He needed more time to think about this, and a stiff drink to go along with it. So that’s how he found himself now sitting directly at the bar and not inside the dark booth. The whiskey in his hand suggested he wasn’t making it back to the office anytime soon.
Normally he wouldn’t remove his focus from the drink in his hands but when a bag is slapped on the counter top beside him he finds himself lifting his head. The girl claiming the seat beside him is dressed in stark contrast to his own attire. He’s still in his work suit, tie loosened around his neck, but the girl beside him has clearly just come from the beach. Her hair is wild and wrapped in a bun a top her head. A red bikini strap peaks out the collar of the white coverup. Her breasts had left wet spots slightly see through to the red fabric of her top, like she had left the beach in a rush.
“Hit me with the usual Randy” she calls to the bar keep and Rafe can’t tear his eyes away from her. She’s bigger, sure, but the dip of her hips and small pouted lips have Rafe every bit of intrigued. He can’t help the thought of her being a girl he might’ve never noticed before escape him. He wanted to notice her now.
“Rough day?” Randy smirks at her when he’s back, a tall glass with a dark liquid set in front of her. She takes a sip before responding.
“Every day is a rough day” she mutters and Randy just chuckles before walking off to serve other customers. It’s only when your eyes lock with his own Rafe realizes he has been staring this entire time. “Let me guess, you got something to say just like everyone else today”
“I, what?” Rafe doesn’t expect the coldness from you and how strong willed you are with it too. You aren’t scared of him, he isn’t used to that.
“Listen I’ve had my fill of assholes today so if you don’t have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself” you told him before turning back forward and taking a large gulp from the drink in your hand.
“Got someone bothering you?” Rafe asked finding his cool. He finally got himself to tear his eyes away from you, eyes scanning over the liquor bottles behind the bar. You turn to look at him, eyes drawn together in confusion.
“Not one specific person, everyone for some reason thinks they have the right to comment on my appearance” your words get him to turn back at you. Normally men don’t make you nervous but when you watch him eye you up and down you can’t help the way your heart accelerates.
“I happen to think you look just fine” the scoff that falls from your lips shocks him.
“I’m not looking for your pity, I happened to over hear today that no decent self respecting man would date me so let’s not lie to each other” you tell him and Rafe now feels the air knocked from his lungs. He can’t believe anyone would say that to you. Let alone to your face.
“If it makes you feel better I was told today that I only date woman for surface things” now you were the one drawing your eyebrows together in confusion, looking to the mystery of a man beside you.
“Surface things?” you question the stranger and he chuckles, his rings clinking on his whiskey glass.
“Appearances, apparently I’ve never looked deeper” this has you chuckling right along with him, lifting your own drink to your lips.
“Look at us then, two sides of the same coin. Makes you wonder if there really is anyone out there actually happy with who they ended up with” you say mostly to yourself, knowing this perfect stranger on a normal day would never look your way but you also would never find yourself thinking you had a chance with him.
“I think there is, at least the people who weren’t chewed up and spit out by the world” the optimism is what shocks you the most when he speaks. A hope for something better down in there.
“I wish I was one of those people” you find yourself saying and the boy turns to look at you again, eyes scanning over each of your features.
“Maybe we should prove them wrong” now you’re laughing, looking bewildered towards the boy beside you.
“And how do you suppose we do that?” you ask and he smirks, clearly having some sort of plan.
“We date. I prove to my coworkers that I date someone for more than just their looks and you prove to all those assholes that you can date a guy as good looking as me” he gestures to himself, as if his body is some of God’s best work. You scoff at his clear cheekiness but actually find yourself considering.
“I don’t even know your name” you laugh, trying to remind yourself that this ideal is completely absurd.
“Rafe Cameron, nice to meet you” his hand reaches across the bar, you take notice of how long his fingers are. With the shake of your head you find yourself putting your hand in his own.
“It’s not that simple” you tell him and he just smiles, dimples forming around his pressed together lips.
“Isn’t it though?” he says, a sparkle of amusement in his eyes and you sigh, finally removing your hand from his own.
“Date? As in fake date?” you ask and he nods, his head tipping to the side.
“Exactly, an agreement of sorts. We both benefit from each other, everything to gain and nothing to lose” he tells you like he’s already worked out every way this could end.
“We just met” you inform him and he shrugs, implying this wasn’t an issue.
“I’ve seen people date over less” he tells you and you sigh, holding your hand out to him. He looks are your empty palm confused and you quickly roll your eyes.
“You can’t take me out ion a date without my number dream boy” you tell him and he smirks while grabbing his phone out of his pocket and placing it in your hand. He watched as you meticulously open his contacts and punch in your number. You’ve named your contact ‘baby ❤️’ but he doesn’t get your real name until you type it into other names.
“Y/N? I like that” he smiles at you and you chuckle, clicking on the profile photo to take a selfie.
“We’re already off to a bad start if you want to stop liking people for just their surface things” he likes how quick witted you are and you don’t allow him a response as you lean into his personal space. “Can’t be a real girlfriend if I don’t have a profile picture in your phone”
You smile so easily and he instantly notices how beautiful it is. He’s not looking at the camera anymore but leaning in and taking in the sweet scent of your perfume mixed with the sunscreen and salty skin. You were like a walking beach and he loved that more than anything. That is how he finds his lips pressing softly against your cheek as the camera shutter clicks on his phone. Your body has chills that you have to brush off quickly as you look at the entirely real looking photo on his screen.
“If I didn’t like what was on the surface you would never be my fake girlfriend” he finally says as he takes his phone back before you could text yourself his number.
“I don’t like how easy this is for you. Are you sure I’m your first fake girlfriend?” you ask and he laughs, eyes falling on your face again.
“The first and the only” and you decide that coming into an agreement like this with a stranger shouldn’t be this simple.
“Then we need to lay some ground rules” this has him raising his eyebrows as you grab a napkin from the bar. He watches as you leaned over, searching for a pen behind the bar. Unashamedly he took the opportunity to inspect your ass, admiring the curve and thanking the see through fabric for revealing the cheeky bikini bottoms that laid over your large curves. He had never openly allowed himself to be attracted to a bigger girl. but now he was briefly wondering what it would be like to be suffocated by one.
“So, what’s these rules?” he smirked at you once you were sat back upright in your seat. He watched as you popped the cap off the pen with your teeth and leaving it in your mouth.
“Don’t worry pretty boy, I’ll keep them simple” you tell him, dropping the cap from you lips into the bar. He felt himself flush slightly at the nickname, watching as your neat and loopy handwriting moved across the napkin.
1. Must actively text/call/interact for a week before first “official” date.
2. PDA must be limited
3. Don’t catch feelings, no matter what
4. Attend whatever event your fake significant other asks of you
5. Most of all, don’t tell anyone, ever, that this is fake
“PDA must be limited?” you roll your eyes at the fact this was the only rule he questioned but you sign at the bottom of the napkin anyway.
“I don’t want to waste all of romantic gestures on something that isn’t real” you explain to him and he nods, sliding the napkin in front of him.
“I have a lot of work dinners I would like you to attend” he says as he signs the napkin.
“I’ll try my best” you tell him and now he’s furrowing his eyebrows at you.
“It’s your rule” he points at the napkin, more confused with you than when you first walked in here. “What could you possibly be busy with?”
“Work” you tell him and he still looks confused which you find adorable. Now rule number three only applies to you.
“Every night?” he questions and you chuckle as you return the pen to the other side of the bar.
“Usually, comes with the territory” and you laugh as he continues to try and process what you’re saying.
“What territory?” he asks and you smile, finishing the drink in front of you.
“My bar” and you gesture to the building around you. Rafe suddenly realizes why you know the names of the workers and why they know your usual drink order.
“You own this place?” and you nod, sliding off your seat and grabbing your bag. You also grab the napkin, now signed by you both.
“Don’t forget rule number one handsome” you tell him before heading towards the exit, determined to have a good rest of your day off. Rafe can only watch as you walk away, baffled any of what just happened actually occurred.
“Randy, I’m gonna need a refill”
