Hearing the violins swell as we read further and further down the list of symptoms of [Insert mental disorder] feeling dread rising as we fit the pieces together is an experience we feel wayyyyyyyy too often

hello here to give some parent advice re: sleep
1) you could be sleeping too much. it's a thing! it's very possible you need less than eight hours
2) you could be sleeping at the wrong time - some people have delayed sleep schedules and sleep best and rest the best at different times
3) you could be waking up in the middle of a sleep cycle. the average sleep cycle is 90 minutes, if you wake up in the middle of one you might feel more sleepy (same theory as napping - either you take a 15-20 minute power nap or you sleep 90 minutes, it'll be the most refreshing)
4) your quality of sleep isn't good enough, due to pillow/duvet/sleep posture/room temperature/noise levels
5) tiredness can also come from a whole lot of other things - eating too much, eating too little, generally poor diet, stress etc
hope you wake up soon x
aww thanks so much vio!!
i’m probably not sleeping too much lol, hopefully not (i’ve gone on less than 8 hours before, not very fun) and i have the same sleep cycle as the other days, just tuesday’s and thursdays i have to wake up to an alarm which body does not like
i have been struggling to eat enough so that could actually contribute :(

dear people with OCD: the next time you have spiraling & intrusive thoughts, what-ifs, or catastrophizing scenarios, I am sending a cardigan-wearing 46-year old NYU professor directly into your brain and he says "Aaaaand scene!!!" and he claps his hands slowly. and he says "Wow. Wow. Powerful stuff. Evocative imagery. A little bit post-modern, a little bit hysterical realism in the vein of Don Delilo but let's pause right here." and you will recognize your thoughts as a perplexing avant-garde film shown to an audience of 15 liberal arts students who are now trying to get a good grade and sleep with their professor.

I HATE MORAL OCD. well i shouldnt say hate thats a strong word. and i dont want to sound like i hate people WITH moral ocd because i dont of course. i just hate having it. but i shouldnt think that, i do like having morals, its just stressful to be thinking about them so constantly and scrutinizing every little thing i do or think. but really thats the least i could do so i should at least try, right? just because i suffer from— no, struggle with moral ocd doesn’t mean i should just stop thinking about things all together, thats not what im saying and i should make that clear, but i

Greetings bugs and worms!
This comic is a little different than what I usually do but I worked real hard on it—Maybe I'll make more infographic stuff in the future this ended up being fun. Hope you learned something new :)
If you are still curious and want to learn more about OCD, you can visit the International OCD Foundation's website. I also recommend this amazing TED ED video "Starving The Monster", which was my first introduction to the disorder and this video by John Green about his own experience with OCD.
The IOCDF's website can also help you find support groups, therapy, and has lots of online guides and resources as well if you or a loved one is struggling with the disorder. It is very comprehensive!
Reblog to teach your followers about OCD
(But also not reblogging doesn't make you evil, silly goose)

the way people online talk about autism is getting really weird, like do they know that neurotypicals still have interests? that someone being passionate about a hobby doesn't mean they're autistic? you guys know that right

can we talk about how being so pants-shittingly terrified of Doing A Racism you freeze up or Get Weird around anyone a shade darker than the sugar in your cupboard or with an accent is effectively the same as being scared of brown people and doesn't make you much better than Sandra Lilly Smith from the suburbs who clings her purse when a black guy gets on the elevator with her
