Honestly I like to imagine that Xia is actually more cyberpunk that Metru Nui. Like there are giant Blade Runner-style holograms advertising the latest ridiculous weapons the Vortixx have come up with, and basically-hovercars flying between buildings, and a "luxury district"* where all the company-owners and stuff live, with like Matoran and Steltian Bruiser servants and stuff.

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Xia is like. The most "realistic" area in Bionicle in terms of aesthetics and structure, at least compared to the rest of the Matoran Universe. Like, unlike Metru Nui (which is also a big city), it doesn't cover multiple islands, and it's explicitly stated that a lot of it is industrial stuff like factories, which presumably are part of the Vortixx's weapons industry.

Like even its skyline looks like a (heavily stylised) depiction of a modern city:

Also it's environmentally fucked up because, as I've mentioned before, it's canon that the Vortixx invented capitalism. Also because Mutran left his carnivorous pet rock there I guess.

It took me a year or two but I finally got a brand new shiny cover for Beanstalked!

I am so much happier with the vibes of this cover and I feel like it fits the themes and characters of the comic so much more compared to the previous more serious versions.
