Get To Know You - Sims Style
Thank you to @descendantdragfi and @bioniczombie for tagging me 💙💙💙
What’s your favorite Sims death?
I haven’t had any sims die recently, but I do have one wild story from several years ago.
When my 2nd Gen heir Maya and her sister went off to university, they stayed in the sorority house. The general university shenanigans were taking place (sims not cleaning up after themselves, piles of laundry everywhere, etc.), but I didn’t realize some of their roommates weren’t eating... until it was too late 😬
THREE (3) girls in the dorm died in one night! Two of starvation and the third from thirst (idk how she became a vampire). Since they all died so close together, the Grim Reaper just hung around the dorm until he reaped all of them. I had Maya collect their tombstones and take them back with her to Lucky Palms when the semester ended. Now they’re all resting in the mausoleum, hopefully in peace lol.
Alpha CC or Maxis Match?
Maxis-match with some alpha pieces here and there. Though I feel like the line between what’s considered maxis-match and what’s considered alpha in TS3 is way more blurred that in TS4.
Do you cheat your sims weight?
Rarely. Some of EA’s premades are just so skinny sometimes!
Do you move objects?
All. The. Time. I can’t remember a time where I’ve played or built without it on. It makes it so much easier to squeeze sitting chairs or plants or floor lamps into tight corners and make nice collages of different wall art that overlap each other a little.
Favorite Mod?
Gosh there are so many mods that I absolutely love, and lately the TS3 modding scene has been putting out banger after banger, but my most recent favorite mod is @thesweetsimmer111′s More Toddler Interactions! I love being able to feed toddlers outside of the highchair and actually give them baths. And Savanita’s animations are always so cute!
First Expansion/Game Pack/Stuff Pack?
The Sims 3: Showtime! (crazy, I know lol)
Do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?
ALIVE. Idc if it’s the wrong pronunciation, I’ve committed to it 😤
Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?
Probably my test sim, Leia. I created her from scratch and use her to test my mods and any CC I download, but lately I’ve been thinking of actually playing out her life. She’s also the adult sim in my Yoga Mod cover photo. Here she is!
Have you made a simself?
I did a few years ago, but I never got around to playing her. I wonder if I still have my simself’s household somewhere...
Which is your favorite EA hair color?
I haven’t used an EA preset hair in 10,000 years, but I guess the black one isn’t too terrible.
Favorite EA hair?
The braids from The Sims 3: Island Paradise!
Favorite life stage?
I feel like Young Adult is a boring answer, so I’ll say Teens lol.
Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
Mostly gameplay (and testing mods/cc :p). When I build, it’s usually remodeling the interior of an already existing build.
Are you a CC creator?
Yes!! I started with TS4 to TS3 conversions, but I’m also a modder now 😁
Do you have any Simblr friends or a Sim Squad?
The Sims 3 community on Tumblr is pretty small, and I feel like we all know, follow, or are in a Discord server with each other (shoutout to the TS3 Creator’s Cave members!!). So, in a way, we’re all in the same squad ✌
Do you have any sims merch?
Unfortunately, no.
Do you have a YouTube for sims?
No.
How has your “Sims style” changed throughout your years of playing?
I used to exclusively play with families and progress through a few generations, but recently, I’ve been playing with more single sims to experience parts of the game I hadn’t really touched on before. I’ve also gotten a lot better at avoiding “same face” syndrome when I give existing sims a makeover or make them from scratch. Getting more comfortable with custom sliders has definitely helped with that too.
Who’s your favorite CC creator?
There are a ton of creators whose content I absolutely love, so I won’t be able to name everyone, but here are a few:
@aroundthesims, @anitmb, @aisquaredchoco, @bioniczombie, @chazybazzy, @deniisu-sims, @danjaley, @enable--llamas, @echoweaver, @faerielandsims, @franglishetchocolat, @flotheory, @givresims, @grandelama, @greenplumbboblover, @ifcasims, @ilvansims3conversion, @jamiegirlposts, @jazzysimlife, @joojconverts, @justmiha97, @kotajose, @lazyduchess, @martassimsbookcc, @monocodoll, @mspoodle1, @nectar-cellar, @nightospheresims, @ninaaposts, @olomayasims, @omedapixel, @pandelabs, @phoebejaysims, @pixelfrogslegs, @plumbdrops, @poisonfireleafs, @potato-ballad-sims, @potatobuttcheek, @puffkins2000, @rstarsims3, @simbouquet, @simsdeogloria, @sim-songs, @simtanico, @sweetdevil-sims, @tasteslikefridge, @technicallyswagpizza, @teekapoa, @theplumdot, @thesweetsimmer111, @xiasimla, and @zoeoe-sims!
And that doesn’t even get into all of the talented TS3 creators over on Mod The Sims or NRAAS!
How long have you had Simblr?
Going on 5 years now. At first I was just reblogging other creators’ content so I could put it in my game, but then I started doing my own conversions in late 2019, so this blog became my simblr and I continued reblogging CC on @twinsimmingccfinds.
How do you edit your pictures?
Gimp 🧍♀️
What expansion/game pack is your favorite?
The Sims 3: Seasons! I love watching the seasons change, the holidays, the festivals, and the feeling of progression. I also love snow and the winter season in real life, especially when I was younger, so seeing my sims going about their day in a snow covered world is very nostalgic for me.
Most people have probably been tagged by now, but if you haven’t been tagged yet, I just tagged you 😉

Sims Tag
I was tagged by @gorgosim, @citruswhim, @aliengirl, @cactusblossom and @introvertedfox!! Thank you so much, friends! 💜
1. What’s your favourite sims death?
- Tbh I haven’t seen a lot of different ones in my game, I’d like to see the one by meteorite and by bunny or chicken. I don’t know if a chicken can kill, but I heard about the bunnies.
2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?
- Maxis Match. I’ve never tried Alpha hairs, but I used some alpha closes before.
3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?
- No. I try not to use cheats at all.
4. Do you use move objects?
- I have a Better Build Buy mod, and it let’s you easily turn it on and off. I always turn it on when downloading from the gallery. I’m not a builder, but I use it sometimes when decorating, because it’s beyond me why can’t a put a painting on the wall if there’s a yoga mat on the floor!
5. Favorite mod?
- It’s a hard one! I love mods and use a lot of them. But I must say that I can’t play without More Columns mod. Even when I play vanilla. Because two rows is not enough.
6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?
- My game was 🏴☠️ for several years. Then I switched to the light side, and the first pack that I got was Cats and Dogs.
7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?
- I think like aLIVE. But tbh I don’t think I pronounce it in English, since it’s not my native languge.
8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?
- Hmm. I still think about a sim I made in I think early 2019 when I first found out about mods and CC. And she was my test sim to try out all these mods and CC. I didn’t have a blog back then. I also didn’t know about the tab mode back then.
9. Have you made a simself?
- No. I wanted to, but knowing my CAS skills she won’t look anything like me.
10. What sim traits do you give yourself?
- Socially awkward, cat lover and gloomy.
11. Which is your favorite EA hair color?
- The white blonde. One of the new swatches that were added.
12. Favorite EA hair?
- Hmm. I’d say a medium straight one and the half bun one.
13. Favorite life stage?
- Young adult, and also infants and toddlers.
14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?
- I can’t build 😭 I am a gameplay simmer.
15. Are you a CC creator?
- I think so, yes. I do recolours.
16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?
- Yes! I won’t name anyone, because I am afraind I will forget someone, but I do have simblr friends. Not a squad though.
17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4)
- 3 was my favourite for a long time, I still played it when Sims 4 was out for several years. But right now I ca’t imagine going back to 3. I really like the cartoony style of Sims 4.
18. Do you have any sims merch?
- No
19. Do you have a YouTube for sims?
- No. I once was very eager to make one! I even made a banner for the channel. And recorded a video. But when it was time to record a voice over, I realised that it’s not for me. I am too socially awkward. I was too nervous to even record myself, even though I was home alone 🤦♀️
20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?
- I don’t think it changed tbh. I have a same face syndrome, so all my sims look a like.
21. What’s your Origin ID?
- I don’t use my legal one amymore, because EA decided they don’t want my money (they don’t sell their games in my country anymore). So I made a new one, donwloaded a free base game and 🏴☠️ all the packs. I don’t share anything to the gallery. And I don’t feel safe sharing these IDs.
22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?
- There are a lot! I can’t name them all, but I must say that I have almost everything by @ravensim and @aira-cc in my mods folder.
23. How long have you had a simblr?
- Since June 2019 I think, so 4 years. My simblr is older than my son 😅
24. How do you edit your pictures?
- I 100% rely on gshade. I use a personal edit of Strawberry Rhubarb Gshade Preset. And I also add moodlets and stuff in Photoshop.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?
- If the leak about horses is true, I’d love to have them! I wish there will also be a unicorn! 🦄 And I’d also want faires.
25. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?
- I’d say Cats and Dogs and Cottage Living. But it’s hard to chose really. I also love Island Living, because Sulani is gorgeous.
I don’t know who to tag, because I am late to the party. If you haven’t done this yet, please, consider yourself tagged by me 🥰

I would like to share my first ever XML tuning mod with you! This is what I called:
More Negative Moodlets
The point of this mod was to make the negative moodlets in the game have a stronger effect on Sims’ lives. I have been playing this game well over 10 years now, and within the past year, I’ve felt that it has been too easy to keep my sims in a good mood. I always found it odd that a sim could still be in an overall good mood despite a relative dying, and the house being trashed.
What I did was this:
I edited the xml file called ‘buffs’, which has a majority of the moodlets used in the game. Admittedly, it does NOT go over every single moodlet that may appear in the sims 3. I don’t recall editing any store moodlets. I created this in 3 flavors to change the difficulty level of your game. I like to think of this mod as a sort of hard mode.
More Negative Moodlets Easier:
Edits a majority of the negative moodlets (nausea, stressed, heartbroken) to at least be -50 to a sim’s mood. This is a more realistic way of playing in my opinion, and I think that this version is best for regular gameplay.
More Negative Moodlets:
This was actually the first version of the mod that I made, and edits a majority of negative moodlets to -70, to a sim’s overall mood. This is a bit much, and sims will start having a bad time when there’s something as simple as dirty dishes in the room.
More Negative Moodlets Insanity:
In case you really want your sims to have a bad time, a majority of moodlets have been edited to be at least -100 to sim’s overall mood. I feel like this should only be used if you want to purposely hurt your sims lol. Or maybe you want your sims to suffer. I don’t judge. Perhaps this could be useful for a prison play through.
---
When you first install the mod, any pre existing negative moodlets will still have their old buffs. The new buffs won't appear until they feel bad again
For some reason it conflicts with the Instant Vampire Transformation mod by Eca (on mod the sims). I can only assume that this mod will conflict with any OTHER MOD EDITS THE BUFFS XML.
This mod was made and tested with Gamefreak130′s ‘Console Karma Powers’ in mind. I thought that it would be a lot cooler to give my sims a bad time when their house became haunted with ghosts, or destroyed by an earthquake lol.
I used a plethora of mods (Nraas, Children can series, and more), and it seems to do fine against 100′s of CC and more (yes, I’m that type of simmer).
And finally, I have every expansion pack and stuff pack, so there may be a chance that I edited moodlets which may not be in your game. So I don’t know how this mod will effect your game if you don’t have, say, seasons, but I don’t believe it would really do anything (I can only assume that the game would just carry on as usual, since your game doesn’t have the instances to create those certain moodlets).

The Brothers and Side Characters Play the Sims
I don’t know what possessed me to make this but WHATEVER. I’ve been playing the Sims since I was a wee little girl, and I’ve seen my fair share of weird Sims stuff that I feel would fit these bozos perfectly.
My Sims have a Functional Family Life Because I Don’t (Lucifer)
God dammit Levi’s obsessed with another game... ugh.
Spends 5 minutes in Create-a-Sim and hops into a starter home.
Lucifer’s the type to start with all the average stuff and then build their stuff up as his sim gets promotions.
It’s just... so peaceful...
...he’s adopting a dog.
Look at his new little virtual family... his sim-kids are self sufficient and getting A’s in school, his Sim spouse MC or Diavolo take your pick loves his Sim-self, his sim-dog-
WAIT NO- THE DOG’S AN ELDER?!
AAAAAAAAAAAAA-
...
He’s fine. It was just a virtual dog. *sniffle*
He’s now spending his free time drinking Demonus and playing the Sims.
What’s a mod? Levi why does your sim have gun?
Behold, My Gorgeous Home... It’s a Box (Mammon)
Mammon, like the rest of the HOL, is mooching off of Levi’s Origin account.
“AW SHIT! This house looks awesome! I’m gonna build it for Sim-me to live in!”
Mammon proceeds to build a box with rooms. Yay...
He just picks the funnest sounding job if he picks any job at all for his Sim. That’s how he ended up making 9 dollars an hour in the criminal career.
Didn’t stop Mammon from buying that solid gold bathroom set from Get Famous... a box with solid gold bathrooms.
His Sim is broke send help-
“Leviiiiiii my sim needs money... the people my sim kidnapped and is forcing to paint aren’t making enough money...” “Ugh... press control shift C and type ‘motherlode’.”
...Levi made a mistake.
“FUCK YEAH! MOTHERLODE!”
His sim’s life is so chaotic, he has a piranha pool that his sim has almost died in twice, the sim is carrying on several torrid love affairs, his sim got struck by lightning, his sim has nearly died in a grilled cheese making accident twice... in the same day.
At least once Sim-Mammon and Sim-MC get married things calm down a little.
Mammon finds out what custom content is and proceeds to download EVERYTHING HE CAN FIND.
And now he’s asking Levi why his computer is running so slow.
Expansion Pack King (Leviathan)
He got into it back when the Sims 2 was new, he’s a veteran fan.
“Bro remember when Agnes Crumplebottom would show up and whack the shit out of your sims if they were flirting?”
“Remember when that witch would show up randomly on the lot you were on if you had Makin’ Magic?”
“Remember when Bella Goth was abducted by aliens and we just... didn’t question it?”
He whines about the Sims4 and how crappy it is but still buys every expansion pack, game pack, and stuff pack.
This boy watches like 40 hours of built tutorials and ends up sobbing over his weird roofs.
“WHY DOESN’T IT LOOK AS NICE AS THE ONE I’M LOOKING AT?! THIS ISN’T FAIR!”
The mod folder is so full istg-
Levi gets custom content for the sole purpose of making his favourite fictional characters.
This is why Henry and the Lord of Shadows are married and Ruri-chan and Sim-Levi are roommates.
Oh my god they were roommates-
Levi also added his brothers to the world and uh... Sim-Mammon died in a tragic pool accident F.
Levi then proceeded to befriend the Grim Reaper.
He’s anxiously awaiting the release of Paralives.
Wait Gameplay? In This Build Simulator? (Satan)
Satan’s here to build and leave. Gameplay who?
Our favourite bundle of rage is a master architect and the amount of followers on the Gallery he has shows it.
He takes up those build shell challenges and always ends up making them look positively perfect.
Asmo’s always using his houses, and Satan often takes requests when he gets bored.
No Mammon, he reserves the right to refuse to build a golden castle for you- YOUR SIM HAS 40 SIMOLEONS-
No mods, no CC, he’s building with what EA gave him.
...and EA gave him debug objects, and he’s not going to explain how to get them.
The one time he did actually play with a family... it was one sim and seven cats.
He tries to play without cheats... and ends up getting frustrated and turns on cheats.
All hail the Pets Expansion Pack.
Custom Content Soap Opera (Asmodeus)
Asmo spends 5 hours in Create a Sim then just... clicks out of the game.
That’s how it goes most of the time, buuuuuut when he gets super invested in a family he’s made, boy howdy is he INVESTED.
Sim A is carrying on an affair with Sim C who’s in love with Sim B who’s married to Sim A but Sim D wants to kill Sim A and C even though they’re the illegitimate child of Sim C-
When Asmo realizes that in the Sims 4 he needs to manufacture all the drama himself and he can’t just sit back with a glass of wine and watch the fireworks, he switches to the Sims 2 and 3.
“...why is this old lady beating up my Sim..?”
He immediately recoils in horror upon seeing how ugly the Sims are pre Sims4.
HE NEEDS TO FIX THIS-
Ah, there we go, perfect. Custom Content to the rescue!
He ends up remaking the entire world just so he doesn’t have to look at weird looking Sims.
Asmo is the only one to have finished a proper Legacy Challenge, but it gets crazy chaotic after gen 3.
“My sim just got abducted by aliens and now he’s pregnant- WHAT?!”
He has about 40 saves and only two he actually plays.
Just a Big Ol’ Happy Family (Beelzebub)
Beel found the game, proceeded to make everyone in create-a-sim to the best of his abilities, and made everyone get along.
That’s why Sim-Lucifer and Sim-Belphie are on a swing set together, they’re friends :D
“Hey Luke do you think you can make this?” “I-is that a cake shaped like a hamburger?” “Yes. Please make.”
He took one look at the cooking options and decided to max out his Sim’s cooking skill to unlock all the options.
Beel proceeded to drool all over his keyboard. Gross...
Boy howdy did he have some crazy dinner suggestions!
Overall, very wholesome Sim-life, except for the time Sim-Levi died because the toilet caught fire, don’t worry, Sim-Beel knows how to make ambrosia.
All is good in the Sim save...
...until Sim-Beel ate pufferfish nigiri and fuckin died-
Wait Did I Not Pause- (Belphie)
Huh, this game looks fine... I’ll play for a little- *SNORE*
Belphie makes some sims, plops them into a starter home, plays for an hour, then falls asleep.
He wakes up five hours later to absolute carnage.
Three sims have died because someone decided to make Mac and Cheese and the oven caught fire, the kids were taken away by social services, and the dog ran away.
“...heheh, holy shit everyone look.”
He doesn’t play often, but when he does, death occurs. He has found out every death method for every game from Sims 2 to 4.
And that INCLUDES the Sims Medieval! You guys remember that game?
Sometimes it’s not intentional, but Belphie got bored with the totally normal life his sims were living and decided to spice it up.
“Why are the ghosts breaking my showers..?”
Help There’s a Bug- (Diavolo)
The Crown Prince started playing when he noticed Lucifer was playing it.
He was immediately obsessed.
Dia mostly plays the Sims Medieval because he likes the feeling of achievement after completing a quest!
“Barbatos... why isn’t my Sim completing their task? The icon won’t show up.” “My lord it appears the game is bugged.” “:(“
No one thought to tell Diavolo that EA doesn’t plan on offering bug support to a game made in like... 2009
This doesn’t matter! Look at how great his kingdom is doing- oh no his hero has the plague-
He plays through the Pirates and Nobles expansion and manages to get the peaceful ending, he’s so proud of himself.
“MC! Look! My Monarch’s sword is permanently on fire and I’m fighting an evil wizard!”
When he does play the other Sims games he’s pretty basic, though, he does a great job at furnishing!
Dia gets crazy sad when his Sims die... he turns off aging.
Builder no. 2 (Barbatos)
Barbie doesn’t have time for this... but when he does, he builds.
No create a sim.
No playing the game as intended.
Just builds.
It’s relaxing, okay? A nice little suburban house he’s never going to play in, maybe a treehouse, maybe a big Hollywood Mansion...
The only time he actually plays the game outside of build mode is when someone needs his help to fix something in-game.
He does download custom content build items if he feels bored by the current selection.
Oh Crap What Am I Doing?! (Simeon)
Help him. Please.
He’s so confused.
“Luke, why is my sim upset?” “He’s hungry, Simeon.” “Oh, how do I fix that?” “...Simeon-”
There’s a toilet in the middle of the living room.
The fridge is facing the wall.
There’s no bathtub or shower.
The house is on fire- there is no god- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-
Okay, once he gets the hang of it he’s sitting pretty. His sims have good jobs, the kids are getting good grades, everything’s fine.
...
But Simeon won’t forget the nightmares.
What Even is This Save? (Solomon)
Solomon’s save is the definition of chaos.
One sim’s a vampire, the other is a spellcaster that really wants to fight the Callientes for some reason, there’s one normal sim that’s always sick for some reason,
It gets weird, confusing, and horrible.
Just how Solomon likes it.
His house makes no sense, like, what even is architecture?
Money cheats are needed because Solomon‘a goal of chaos and confusion is proving to be kind of expensive.
Square up Mortimer Goth, Solomon’s sims are here to steal your weird knight statue that’s worth a shit ton of simoleons for NO REASON.
He joined the scientist career for the sole purpose of getting to the alien planet and kidnapping adding an alien to the household via cheats.
The vampire ended up dying on their wedding day because Solomon forgot that he gave them the sun weakness.
Oh well, the ghost got added to the household! VAMPIRE GHOST!
The Child (Luke)
Before you say Luke’s too young to play the Sims, you should know that I was nine when I first started playing, and I turned out fiiiiiiiiiine.
He’s just happy to be playing.
Look, his sims are gardening :D
Look, two of them are getting married :D
Look, they had a baby :D
Look, his sims are building a rocket ship :D
Look, his sims’s rocket just crashed-
The concept of death hit the little angel right in the face that day.
“*sniffle*... my sims...”
Don’t worry, with tears in his eyes, Luke quit without saving and everything was fine!
Speaking of My Sims, Luke played MySims Sky Heroes and that was when Luke had his first bout of gamer rage.
MC came over to hang out with Solomon and Simeon, and in the distance they could just hear:
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY TIME WASN’T FAST ENOUGH TO CONTINUE THE STORY!? I’LL SHOW YOU FAST ENOUGH TIME!”
Okay, maybe Simeon should take the game away... just for a bit... he should take heed not to be bitten by the incredibly angry chihuahua.
Bonus:
MC: Why are our Sims married?
*Insert Boy Here*: Uh... that’s weird... I have no clue why they’re doing that...

Double buns, space buns, dumpling buns… whatever you want to call it, this hairstyle is popular thanks to its cute-and-quirky charm.
But of course, there are ways to turn it from eclectic to elegant. Especially in the hands of a master stylist.
Don’t take my word for it, though. Just take a look at this CC featuring excellent Sims 4 double bun hairdos.
Some are sleek, some are stylish, some are adorable, but all of them look really freaking awesome (and are totally free to add into your game!).
15. S-Club TS4 Double-Buns Accessory
These double buns are meant to be worn with any hairstyle.
Long waves, short bobs, shoulder-length tresses … the goal is for you to plop some adorable buns on the top to complete the look, whatever hairstyle you choose.
But even though the concept is unique. And the resulting double buns are very cute. I had to put this one lower on my list for a few reasons.
(1) This isn’t really a big deal, but these buns are technically accessories; not hair. Since we’re ranking hairdos, they’re already at a mechanical disadvantage.
(2) It’s alpha CC, not maxis match. So there’ll be a pretty glaring disconnect when you use these buns with any base game or vanilla game hairstyles.
(3) There are 20 custom colors, and none of them are EA swatches.
The third reason is my biggest concern with the buns.
They just won’t match – color or texture-wise – with vanilla game hairstyles.
Beyond the black swatch, the pale blue swatch (works with EA gray) and the light reddish-brown swatch (just about works with EA’s chestnut brown), the other colors simply don’t match any of the base game colors – nevermind the custom colors of other CC hairstyles.
Still great if you can overlook those details!
Color Options: 20 custom colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
14. Leah Lillith’s Blossom Hair
Simple, sexy, sleek.
If you want a no-fuss, no-mess hairstyle (literally, there isn’t a hair out of place with this ‘do) Leah Lillith’s Blossom hair CC is a great choice.
It comes in 17 custom colors and features a good range of naturals, bright pastels, and natural neutrals.
The hyper-realistic texture might not translate so well in-game unless you fiddle with your graphic settings, or try some graphics mods.
But they look glorious in CAS and set-up photoshoots. Overall this is a pretty, safe, and standard hairstyle that’ll look great on most any Sim.
Color Options: 17 custom colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
13. Leah Lillith’s Nyane Hair
Another masterpiece from Leah Lillith, this Nyane CC has that spunky, artsy, “cool chick” personality that I personally adore.
Whereas her Blossom hair was all neat, orderly, and slicked back… this one just looks carelessly styled – in the best possible way.
Fluffy, bouncy bangs, uneven side hair strands, and cute, wispy baby hairs all over the place. This one just had make the list.
There are decent color options for this piece, too. 27 custom swatches all in all, with 22 solids and 5 ombres (where the bangs are a different color than the base).
Shade range and diversity are okay. Some fun colors and color combinations (for the ombres), but there aren’t a lot of heavily saturated brights.
Plenty of light-washed pastels and muted neutrals, though.
Also an important note: if you really want the texture to shine, you’ll need to set Sims Detail to “Very High” and turn off laptop mode.
Color Options: 27 custom colors; includes 22 solids and 5 ombre options
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
12. S-Club’s Double-Buns N42
S-Club’s n42 double-bun hairstyle is very sleek and slicked-back.
It doesn’t look severe though – in fact, on the right face, it can look very cute since there’s a bit of a swoopy side-part that injects a lot of personality.
Although I personally prefer maxis match textures over alpha CC (gives me more options to mix-and-match with base game items), I think the soft realistic texture for this hair works extremely well.
The stray hair strands loosely falling out of the double buns just add to the look.
Definitely a must-try if you’re experimenting with this kind of hairdo for your Sim.
The color options, like the textures, are very soft and understated.
There are a lot of natural colors and varying shades of brown to boot.
Not a lot of bright highly saturated swatches, but there are quite a bit of gentle pastels – the kind with the white base.
Color Options: 18 custom colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
11. Katrina Hair from Lilasimss
This kind of looks like the maxis match counterpart of Leah Lillith’s Blossom hair, only not as neat.
It’s also got some cute chunks poking and curling around, giving the buns a quirky, asymmetrical look.
The overall vibe is that it’s slicked-back and stylish, but definitely not tightly-wound.
I’d imagine this kind of style is perfect for playful Sims, street-smart Sims with a lot of street-cred, and Sims that favor artsy-slash-effortlessly-urban fashion.
It comes in all 18 default EA color options, and they all look great. Try the blue swatch for a truly out-of-this-world space-buns style.
It’s also supposedly compatible with all hats, but the creator themselves said some items could clip or chop, so… pair with hats at your own risk.
Color Options: 18 EA colors
Mesh Needed: Yes; included in download link (original space buns mesh by wildlyminiaturesandwich)
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
10. Lila Hair by Feral Poodles
Inspired by the adorable curly side hairs from the Get Famous hairdo (the huge updo one), Feral Poodles’ double bun hair is uniquely distinct in the best possible way.
Two curly strands of hair on both sides frame any Sim’s face quite elegantly, tempering the cuteness of this space bun hairstyle with a touch of refined class.
The maxis match texture works well with how the buns are designed, too. Large chunks of hair curled, wrapped around, and then tucked away to create two attractively tousled top buns.
Available for female teens all the way up to elders, Feral Poodle’s Lila hair is also accessible with all hats and accessories.
Tuck those buns under a wide-brimmed sunhat. Or pair it with some long, dangling earrings. The buns look great in any style.
This hairdo also comes with plenty of color options. You have the 18 base game colors plus 45 new custom colors from Poodles’ palette. The entire set of swatches has a good mix of brights, darks, naturals, neutrals, and pastels, so I’m reasonably certain you’ll find a shade you love!
Do note that the download link includes three files. I recommend getting the “merged” package if you want to access all 63 colors.
Color Options: 63 color options; includes 18 EA colors + 45 custom colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
9. SimLaughLove’s Low Double Buns
We’ve had an onslaught of high space buns and double buns pulled to the top of the head, so this low double bun CC from SimLaughLove offers a much-needed break.
As the name suggests, the buns here are pulled low, curled, and styled to just below the ears.
And despite being so symmetrical, the buns are designed to still look pretty messy.
There are a few loose strands at the front and a couple stubborn ends poking out. But that’s why I love this hair: the buns look like they were styled by someone with plenty of skill, but not a lot of time. Very casual chic.
What’s more, this hairstyle has two options: bangs or no bangs. (Yup; the attention to detail is fantastic!)
Without bangs, this ‘do looks a little more fashionable and a little more mature. With bangs, it gives off a more youthful/playful vibe.
Color Options: 18 EA colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
8. Phaedra Retexture of Newsea Gaze
Phaedra’s retexture of this stunning asymmetrical space bun hairstyle from Newsea is one of the most aesthetically pleasing hairstyles I’ve seen for The Sims 4.
First things first; the texture.
Phaedra’s version is an excellent visual blend of alpha CC and maxis match. The result? A semi-realistic hairdo that looks incredibly soft.
Second, the hair itself. The style is incredibly unique.
Two buns of varying sizes, designs, and positions.
The left bun sits practically on top of the head, where the right one balances on the side. The left bun looks like an elegant upsweep or French twist, expertly wrapped around in one direction and with edges neatly tucked away. The right looks like a smaller updo or braided chignon, with different sections all folded inwards and held in place.
Even the framing hair strands are all over the place.
The left side has more or less a uniform bunch out and curling in at around chin level. The right has two chunks of wayward hair strands.
One hangs straight down to the collarbones, while the other curls outwards and hangs just by the ear.
It’s all just asymmetrical, mismatched, and messy – and that’s precisely what makes it so beautiful!
I’m not sure if hair can be called personal, but that’s what I’m calling it.
This double bun hairdo looks less like graphically-generated CC, and more like someone’s personal favorite hairstyle.
Color Options: 52 custom colors
Mesh Needed: NewseaSims (paid) or JenniSims (free; retextured)
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
7. S-Club TS4 Double-Buns2 n45
This is S-Club’s third entry for this list, and definitely its best.
This double-buns n45 hairstyle honestly looks like the best combination of Leah Lillith’s Nyane hair, Newsea’s Gaze hair, and Feral Poodles’ Lila hair.
The hair is pulled into two high even buns on both sides, with just enough wisps of hair out of place to make it look charming.
The front has uniform strands of hair pulled out and hanging loosely about the face, framing it almost perfectly.
They’re not curly like Feral Poodles’ Lila hair, nor are they as crazy uneven as Newsea’s Gaze.
They’re short, straight, and they honestly look great on every face shape.
Colors for this hair include a decent selection of darks and neutrals. The creator seems to favor bright and soft pastels, though. And there are about 11 of them out of the 16 total options.
Not that I’m complaining; they all look so light and pretty.
Color Options: 16 custom colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
6. ShespeaksSimlish Braid Series – Braided Double Bun
Looking for some double buns with attitude? Trust me, this kick-ass CC from SheSpeaksSimlish can deliver.
Part of her Braid Series that she released in 2017, this particular style is one-of-a-kind. There isn’t any other CC item on this list that comes even remotely close to this ‘do.
I think the pictures speak loud enough, but let me gush over the details.
The cornrows, the thick braids, the hurriedly-piled-up-and-tied-up buns? The whole thing is colorful, sassy, and unapologetic.
And I am absolutely living for it.
It’s a shame that there aren’t enough Sims 4 hairstyles like this out there. But at least the ones that do exist are such high quality.
If you liked the side ponytail hairdo or the short colored dreads from “Discover University” then you’re going to love this.
The download link leads to three packages, but you have the option to download just one.
The double bun hairstyle package is the one titled “Braid Double Buns.” But if you’re up to it, I highly recommend getting all three. These braided updos are all gorgeous.
Color Options: 15 custom colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
5. Leah Lillith’s Nevaeh
Another gorgeous piece from Leah Lillith, this Nevaeh CC is so elegant and so whimsical, it’ll take your breath away.
These double buns are accompanied by strands of hair that frame the face. The reason this comes in here in my ranking is because the framing strands are so wispy and wavy, they make the whole hairstyle look flat-out ethereal.
Couple that with the gorgeous star-crown accessory that comes with it, and it’s just downright otherworldly.
Space buns indeed.
I’m not going to go on about the strands (as much as I want to). I’m just going to talk about the colors now.
It comes with 14 custom color options that are quite evenly split between dark naturals and bright, pastel dyes. The “unnatural” colors are quite bright and soft, with a lot of gray undertones and a white (or light gray) base.
The purple and light maroon swatches are particularly beautiful. And they just add to the whole “whimsical double-bunned faerie” look.
Color Options: 14 custom colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
4. Nightcrawler’s Cinnamon Clayified (Retexture)
The “clayified” retexture of Nightcrawler’s Cinnamon hair turns this alpha cc hairdo, into a maxis match that I think looks a lot better.
If you prefer alpha CC, of course, you can keep the original mesh.
Cinnamon is still a beautiful low double bun hairstyle with a unique front-bang design that works especially well with rounder, more youthful faces.
It comes with 22 new custom colors in a pretty diverse range of naturals, neutrals, and a couple fun dyes.
However, Nightcrawler does warn about slight transparency issues with the hair.
You’ll also need to change your graphic settings (Sims Detail to Very High, turn off Laptop Mode) if you really want the hair to shine.
Remiiry’s retexture is available in all 18 EA colors and it fixes the slight transparency issues of the original mesh.
Whether you choose it “clayified” or not, this double bun hairstyle is still one of the cutest we’ve seen – and one of the most unique.
Framing chunks and stray strands galore … what’s not to like?
Color Options: 18 EA colors
Mesh Needed(For Cinnamon): No
Mesh needed(For Clayified Retexture) Cinnamon
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
3. Clumsy Hair
I have to admit, it was tough choosing between retextured Cinnamon and Ivo-Sims’ Clumsy hair for third place.
Both are pretty, unique, and quirky.
Clumsy also has those side framing strands that I absolutely adore.
The Sims 4 Pigtails Cc
The buns are pretty symmetrical, but the front part boasts a side part and generous chunks of slightly wavy hair tumbling just around the face.
These strands make the hair look great from any angle, honestly. They’re at just the right length that they frame the face without hiding or overpowering.
The texture works well with the design, too. It gives that feeling of hair being sectioned neatly, and styled masterfully to achieve cute, casual space buns.
It’s an overall simple yet gorgeous hairstyle that I feel could become many a Simmer’s go-to choice for eclectic, urban, and colorful street styles.
Color Options: 18 EA colors
Mesh Needed: No
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
Sims 4 Pigtail Hair
2. Plumboby Tom Hair Recolor by CuberSims
We’ve seen some pretty amazing double-bun-slash-space-bun hairs so far. But there’s a reason CuberSims’ recolor of Plumboby’s Tom hair is in my top two. Actually, there are two.
I’ll start with the hair’s design.
I think you’ve figured out by now that I’m a sucker for double buns with framing strands.
Sims 4 Cc Pigtails Adult
I just really like the contrast between neat buns and messy/tousled strands of hair. If they frame the face well, consider me sold.
The Sims 4 Toddler Pigtails Cc
So Plumboby’s Tom hair already checks most of my boxes. It’s a maxis match texture, it’s got a unique space bun placement (not high, not low – smack-dab in the middle), and the front strands flow from straight to slightly wavy in just the best way.
Second biggest reason?
The colors. CuberSims’ recolor adds a whopping 93 new colors for this hair alone. Crazy? You bet.
But that’s called dedication. And it pays off well in-game. With this many colors, of course you’ve got diversity.
And she even categorizes them clearly; WMS Unnaturals, Naturals, and Neutrals.
Sunflower blond? Yup, it’s there.
Strawberry blonde? That too.
Alien green? Four shades to choose from.
The download link leads to four package files: naturals, neutrals, unnaturals, and all addons merged. Be sure to download the fourth one if you want all 93 colors.
Color Options: 93 custom colors
Mesh Needed: Plumboby’s Tom Hair
Game/Stuff/Expansion Pack Needed: No
1. SimLaughLove’s Bun Bun Hair
Who wouldn’t love this hair for the name alone? SimLaughLove’s Bun Bun hair is arguably the most distinct on this list and the most detailed.
You get two adorable dumpling buns on the very top of a full head of gorgeous, wavy hair.
What’s more, you can have it with bangs or no bangs.
And before you say “wait that’s not very detailed,” take a look at the photos.
The creator went the extra mile to give us three options for each version (bangs or no bangs).
Option one has the hair swept back and resting behind the shoulders.
Option two has one half of the hair swept back behind the shoulders, and the other half swept forward, over the shoulder.
Option three has the hair swept forward and resting over the shoulders.
So in this download alone, you have six possible hairstyles crowned with adorably tiny double buns at the very top.
The creator also made sure to rotate one of the buns for a more asymmetrical look.
Part of her Half Up Half Down Series, SimLaughLove’s Bun Bun hair comes in all 18 EA colors. And it’s just superb.
Color Options: 18 EA colors

Aquamenti is a small vulcanic island. It was raised by italian and spanish aristocracy almost 300 years ago. Along decades Aquamenti was changing, not only visually and in architectural terms, but also because of locals mentality. At the beginning, it was place for rich people to escape for, overgrown with dense jungle. Now, since 1930s, the island became very popular recreational vacation destiny, along with it's club stage which was raising since midcentury, and from which island is famous for today. Many famous sims was living on this island along the years. However, it still has quiet and unspoiled places. Which way will you choose? Living in light of fame or escape to a new secret place?

I made 4 recolors of rabbit holes for this town. They’re included in mods pack above. You can see them in this post.
I made custom loading screen based on Gamefreak130 mod. It’s not anymore core mod, but script mod, so it shouldn’t make conflict with anything in your game.

It has Roaring Heights ini files.
Here you have described all mods and changes I made in update. No need to download anything beside mods pack above and the town itself.
-----------------------------------------------------
This is my first world that I publish, hope you’ll like it. I tried to present the history of this town in some lots description. English isn’t my first language so there may be some typos. Also, some lots have weird names.
Please tag pics #aquamenti if you play this world. I would love to see this town in gameplay of other people. 😉

Play The Sims 2 in The Sims 4!
I've been simming since 2000 beginning with The Sims 1. Of all the versions of the game, The Sims 2 version has always been my favorite mainly due to the character stories. Even when The Sims 3 came out, I still was tied to the characters and stories of version 2 and it never quite felt right. Then The Sims 4 came out and I was excited to see the Goths, but the story line was "wrong". My beloved characters were missing. I played for a few years and then went back to 2. I loved the stories of 2, but the game play and graphics of 4. What's a girl to do?
Create the Sims 2 character and stories in the Sims 4? Yeah, that actually works for me....and was a lot of work as well.
I didn't bring over the characters from every world in TS2. The reason being, I never really cared for any of the other characters from the neighborhoods like Belladonna Cove, Riverblossom Hills or Desiderata Valley. In fact, I can honestly say, I never even bothered playing Desiderata Valley. I had enough drama with the main three (Pleasantview, Strangetown and Veronaville....and Bluewater Village).
But wasn't it crazy that with every neighborhood, you got a separate and exactly the same Bluewater Village from scratch? So a different Malcom Landgraab everytime. The Malcom Landgraab from Strangetown didn't know the Pleasantview folks and vice versa. I always found that wacky, so I picked the ML from Pleasantview to play with and abandoned the other dopplegangers.
And why couldn't the Goths know the Smiths? Why couldn't the Pleasants have a barbecue with the Monty's? Why couldn't sims from one neighborhood have friendships/rivalries and romances with sims from another neighborhood? Well, now they can! Pleasantview, Strangetown (Strangerville), Veronaville and Bluewater Village are all open and connected in The Sims 4! I even threw in some goodies like the Newbies and Mashugas from The Sims 1 and that mean ole Mrs. Crumplebottom!
I tried my best to find original renditions of their homes from TS2. As you know, aspirations have changed a little bit, but I tried my darndest to stay true to their aspirations from TS2 with the help of other personality traits along the side. I have already played the neighborhoods to the point of where TS2 begins, with the proper relationships established, ghosts deceased (check out Olive Specter's lil' grim garden *shudder*) and everyone in their proper lots.
Original sims who came with TS4 are still around somewhere in the neighborhood bin. I evicted most of them to make room for my characters. Below are details for each neighborhood that I put together.
Huge shout-out to Midnite Tech for creating the package file that allows us to edit our World names.
The packs I have installed currently are: Get to Work, Get Together, City Living, Get Famous, Discover University, Strangerville, Dine Out, Movie Hangout Stuff, Vintage Glamour Stuff, Tiny Living Stuff and Holiday Celebration.
I wish I could say this is Base Game compatible, but unfortunately, you will need these packs in order to have the full experience. I will be purchasing the other packs as I choose in the future, but for right now, I'm good.
About Pleasantview (Willow Creek)
The Goths, Pleasants, Calientes, Dreamers and Brokes are here and are cued as best as possible to their TS2 initial situations. I also included Bob and Betty Newbie from TS1, whom we later found out were Brandi's parents. Their relationship is also reflected in this file. The notorious maid, Kaylynn Langerak is also residing in Pleasantview and is bound to cause some ruckus.
About Strangerville (Strangetown)
The Smiths, Grunts, Curiouses, Beakers and Specters are in full play with the appropriate ghosts haunting Olive's lot. Bella was definitely abducted by aliens (although we can't view all of their memories anymore) and dropped in Strangeville just the same as Strangetown's TS2. She has a story of her own. Thankfully, you can easily decide to reunite her with her family, or let her start a new life. Caution, the neighborhoods are connected, so she is bound to run into one of her relatives.
*For WHATEVER reason, the file would NOT let me change the name of Strangerville to Strangetown. It may have something to do with the whole Strangerville story line. But I have seen others edit this. Ah well.*
About Veronaville (Windenburg)
The Capp, Monty and Summerdream families are here with the Monty/Capp feud still going strong. Romeo and Juliette are still in love. Awwwww. I almost never played this neighborhood, but it just wouldn't feel right if I didn't include them.
About Bluewater Village (Newcrest)
The Landgraab, Tinker, Ramirez, Jacquet and Delarosa characters came on over with their aspirations. J'Adore Bakery is owned by the Jacquets, but I didn't create the other businesses.
About Downtown (San Myshuno)
This is where you will find the notorious Mrs. Crumplebottom. She is content in her little house right smack dab where it is and you better stay off her lawn. I heard Malcom Landgraab III offered her a ton of money to move so he could build a new skyrise. She refused to sell and clobbered him with her purse. So he built around her. Malcom Landgraab IV is terrified of her due to the fact that he remembers the huge knot his father had to nurse all those years ago, so he continues his father's legacy of building around her. She ain't budging.
About Twikkii Springs (Oasis Springs)(Twikkii Island)
I named this Twikkii Springs instead of Twikkii Island because Oasis Springs isn't really an island, so it didn't make much sense. So I modified it to be Twikkii Springs. I used Zerbu's World Type Changes mod to make Oasis Springs a destination world. The Mashuga's currently run things here in their token pink octogon house. At least, in my head they do. You can play this however you want. You can get the mod here or don't use the mod and play it as is.
Honorable Mentions
Del Sol Valley
I left these named the same as we didn't really have a fame expansion for TS2. I was tempted to name it Studio Town like in TS1, but that just sounded too "Toon-Town"ish, so nah, pass. I like Del Sol Valley.
Magnolia Promenade
I totally tried to rename this to Uptown Bluewater, but the game said nope. So Magnolia Promenade it is. Maybe one day the powers that bEA will be nice and allow us to freely rename our worlds....or is that wishful thinking?
*************
Majority of the lots that you see here in these worlds, I downloaded from the gallery. I won't feel bad at all if you wanna change things up.
The custom maps that I used for my worlds, you will have to install them separately in order for your neighborhoods to look like my pictures above. You can get the maps here.
*************
DID I MISS SOMETHING?? I tried my best to make this as close to the original TS2 version as possible, but the human in me probably forgot a detail or two. Let me know!
{HOW TO INSTALL}
1. Download my save file here. (SFS not working? Get it here instead.)
2. Then copy the file from your downloads folder into this path: my documents/electronic arts/the sims 4/saves | NOT your mods, tray folder or any other folder.
3. When you open the game, you should see the file The Sims 2 Reprise. :)
{TERMS OF USE}
Feel free to use this save file and have fun with your sims. If you make a video, please let me know. I totally would love to see how others play with this world. I would appreciate a shout out too!
I'm @HeySimHey on Twitter and Instagram and HeySimHey on Youtube. I'll be glad to hear from you!

Hi! I’m pretty new on tumblr so I’m sorry if formatting looks weird. I’m also not native speaker so don’t slander me ples.
I created this challenge for myself because I reinstalled TS4 and I have been overwhelmed with amount of content I have in my game. I also got to the point that I just bored if I “wing it” with my families. Therefore I wrote down all careers I’m somewhat interested in and built this challenge. If you find it interesting feel free to use my notes.
Unfortunately you most likely would need most if not all expansion packs to properly play this challenge. This challenge is inspired by most popular ones in community.
Your family value dynasty a lot, so to treasure and value it, you and your descendants sworn to keep photograph of each heir of your main lineage. No matter what your family will get into, you must protect your heritage.
Basic rules and generations description are under read more.
General Rules:
Cheats are allowed, but do be aware that they take fun out of the challenge;
You have to complete career, aspiration, goals and skills, unless it specified not to;
You may move lots;
Life span may vary as well, but do try to do it on normal;
You may change goals for yourself if you wish;
You must take photograph of your heir (your sim can use any device);
You can also collect family pictures if you want;
This challenge wasn’t tested so be aware that some goals might be unachievable and you are free to ignore them.
For more fun you can follow one color/gender/name throughout generations. I also included only one supernatural generation, since I personally don’t like playing with them, but, of course, you are free to make witch/alien/vampire/mermaid/etc legacy.
Suggestions are unnecessary to follow and only serve as additional ideas.
1. The Selfish One
Story: You moved in new town and hungry for money. It doesn’t matter how you will get it, you will use all your ways.
Career: Lawyer (Attorney branch)
Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy
Traits:
Kleptomaniac
Materialistic
Self-Absorbed
Goals:
Steal 50 objects in lifetime;
Earn money only via career/dates/robbing people;
Be a lover of rich person/people and cheat yourself 500$ every time you visit them/go on date with them;
Break up with them as soon as you get pregnant/they get pregnant (you get a child in any case);
Be neglectful of your heir;
Never marry, but you can see other sims (preferably rich);
You can have other children, but I wouldn’t recommend, as later generations are rich with kids;
Skills:
Charisma
Fitness
Debate
Logic
Suggestions for more fun:
Have your sim have awful reputation and get spouses, of people you are seeing, be your enemies;
Get your child taken away, so you got to have another baby.
2. The Kind One
Story: Your parent was an awful person and you feel responsible for their actions. You are not as smart as them but you want to try to make this place better.
Career: Conservationist (Environmentalist branch)
Aspiration: Super Parent/Bestselling Author (you choose one or complete both)
Traits:
Kind
Clumsy
Vegetarian
Goals:
Complete cleaning up Sulani;
Do weekly charity parties starting in adulthood (party type doesn’t matter, cheat whatever sum of money you want out afterwards);
Visit spas/do a lot of self-care actions;
Write book with every emotional boost (there are 4);
Write biography;
Marry your best friend (bonus points if they are your childhood sweetheart);
Have twins;
Have at least 3 children if you are aiming for Super Parent aspiration’s completion;
Follow eco-friendly lifestyle;
Collect all postcards;
Skills:
Parenting
Wellness
Writing
Logic
Charisma
Suggestions for more fun:
Make your sim make videos about self-care all the time;
Have 3 sets of twins;
Have your parent live with you and have tense atmosphere in house;
3. The Complicated One
Story: Your parent had good intentions but they were pretty naive. You have more realistic outlook on life as you first hand saw that no amount of love can fix person who doesn’t want to change. Your twin is criminal.
Career*: Detective
Aspiration: Computer Whiz (Do not complete)
Traits:
Loner
Gloomy
Non-flirty
Goals:
Move out from family house as soon as possible;
Try to not have friends outside work;
Play videogames as your sole entertainment;
Make your sim win videogame tourney;
Don’t cook, live on delivery or on food from stands (your spouse may cook);
Be enemies with your twin or at least have relationship in red;
Marry your colleague in adulthood;
Have one child (if you want more you can only adopt);
Have your twin move in the moment you have heir;
Die unnaturally before reaching elderly stage and have your twin raise your child (ideally child should be in toddler stage);*
Skills*:
Fitness
Logic
Videogames
Suggestions for more fun:
Last goal implies that your twin killed you. so you can get creative with scenario, get you sim killed in Strangerville or use mods;
Try to make your sim as socially awkward as you can, fail dates and wedding, birthdays and parties;
*A/n: From my other legacy challenge it’s not impossible to complete most of the goals by this stage but if your sim is getting close to aging you might ignore rules. Still try to complete most of it, start developing skills from teenage years.
4. The Sheltered One

Career: Freelancer
Aspiration: Freelance Botanist
Traits:
Family oriented
Loves outdoors
Crazy
Goals:
Run away as teen

Limit interactions with people outside cult;
Become a witch and be potion oriented;*
Fall in love with outsider and run away, do not practice magic afterwards (ideally outsider should be person who you absolutely have to interact, such as schoolmate or stands salesman);

Have 3 children and encourage free spirit in them (ignore responsible trait, make them skip school to spend time with you);
Have garden (may have money from it as well);
Get full frog collection;
Skills:
Herbalism
Gardening
Cooking
Baking
One creative skill of choice (painting, music, writing)
Suggestions for more fun:
Explore Selvadorada ;
Make your sim as weird as you can, mismatch clothes (crazy trait will help you)
*A/n: If you don’t want to deal with witch side you may ignore the whole thing and just create cult.
5. The Lazy One
Story: Your parent always viewed life as something you have fun with. Sure you are not responsible whatsoever but life is too short to waste it on career building.

Non-committal
Goals:
Don’t make any efforts to move up career ladder, skip days and don’t do daily tasks;
Live on off grid lot until adulthood;
Make money from your career and creative skill your parent had (they can teach you it);
Do pranks at least once a week (do not do them in your house, if you live alone);
If you get fired change careers to part-time, you can even not get job at all if you don’t need money;
Have on and off relationship with your romantic interest;
Eventually propose to your love interest but leave them at the altar;
Do have child with them;
Have other 4 children with 4 different sim;
Have small house so everyone have to be in each other space 24/7, have your eldest take care of smaller children (you might want to download double bunk bed for children);

10 CAS Features I Would Like to See in the Sims 5
I’ve already made two lists on features I would like to see in the next installment of the Sims series, but I thought the area of character creation necessitated it’s own category. For some, building is all they do; others simply want to play the game, completing as many of the aspirations and befriending as many other sims as they can. Then there are those of us who are obsessed with the characters themselves. We use mods to give them height or new hair colours, spend hours downloading virtual clothes online, and craft elaborate backstories. Even the length of our Sims noses are important to us. With both improvements and losses in the fourth game, it’s only natural that I have a wish list for the fifth title.
1) Hair Options
EA’s hairs have improved over the years, but you’re required to buy numerous expansion and stuff packs to acquire them. Even with several expansion hairs at my disposal, I find myself turning to mods to find the type of hair I like: wavy, long, and with bangs.
The ability to craft your own hairstyles would be a boon to the series. What if you could change the length of your hair, as well as the type (straight, wavy, curly, or kinky)? What if you could add or remove different bang types? The ability to dye different parts of your hair, as seen in Sims 3, any colour you wanted, including roots, tips, or even streaks, would be feasible. Even throwing colour down wherever, as seen in the Sims 4 Pet system, should be possible: at that point, you could have someone with rainbow hair!
For more complicated styles, such as braids, buzz cuts, or accessorized updos, default hairs could still be provided, but even some of these should include the option to add bangs (straight fringe, uneven fringe, or side swept) as well as dyes and types.
2) Clothing Customization
To the same end, the ability to edit the game’s clothes would excite those of us who have become addicted to Animal Crossing’s latest “Pro Design” option. Outfits would have a “remove sleeve” option, or the ability to make them long or short. Hoodies could be toggled, so that Sims could choose to wear them up or down. Skirts or dresses could be made short, medium or long, and designs could be asymmetrical. Patterns could be added to less complex outfits using a stamp tool, similar to what was developed for Pets; t-shirts could have stripes, polka dots, or chevron patterns added! More skilled simmers could even draw their own illustrations on to clothes.
3) Accessories & Additional Categories
In the Sims 4, you can have hats and necklaces, but not tiaras and scarves. More accessories should be given their own categories, allowing you to add kerchiefs, woolly scarves, tiaras, headbands, or bows to your Sim—in addition to everything else.
Some accessories could be added to other clothes, such as a “belt” option you can use to add colour to any of the game’s pants. All of the shirts would also include a “tie” category. Purses and backpacks could be added to the game, independent of whatever outfit your Sim was wearing, as well as more slots for rings and earrings.
Jackets and t-shirts might even be made separate, allowing your Sim to don their favourite hoodie whatever their outfit for the day. There could be capes, shawls, masks...more categories would make for some fun combinations (and perhaps more notoriously ugly townies).
4) Colour Wheel: Skin, Hair, and Eyes
The Sims 3 featured a colour wheel for both hair and eyes which was missed in the Sims 4. Gone are the days when you could give your Sim dark purple hair and blood red eyes without the use of mods. What Sims 3 didn’t do was include a colour wheel for skin (though the options given through expansions over time gave a close approximation).
The types of Sims you could make in the Sims 5 with a colour wheel would be endless. In addition to making them all resemble anime characters with purple eyes and pastel pink hair, the ability to choose any skin colour would enable the creation of characters like Grimora or Thanos. You could make a town full of Simpson’s type characters if you wanted to.
Having free rein over skin tones would also allow players to tweak any EA skin tones they weren’t happy with. You’d be able to add more red to the tones, darken them, or simply make them appear less washed out.
5) Height Slider
It’s understandable why a height slider hasn’t been implemented, given the strain it would put on animations. While I won’t be (too) upset if this is too difficult to add, there’s no denying that it greatly diversifies characters. A tall character stands out from a short one, leading to cute but awkward couples of drastically varying heights, as well as making the world more realistic.
At the very least, there should be a notable height difference between teens and adults, whom I can’t tell apart.
6) Sex & Gender
The Sims 4 added great options for sex and gender when they enabled unisex clothes and the ability to make transgender Sims. It was the first game I saw that enabled that level of control, and I hope to see an improved version of the system in the Sims 5.
Still absent are more gender categories. In addition to “male” and “female” identities, there should also be a “non-binary” option. In game, depending on what you choose, your Sims would then be addressed as “he,” “she,” or “they.”
Having body types that sat more on a spectrum could open up the character creator too, adding a third body slider that would tend towards masculine or feminine without being strictly one or the other unless you chose to sit at either extreme. Masculine or feminine attributes (such as breasts) could be added independent of the body type, and all clothes and hairs would remain available to all Sims.
7) Personality Quirks
Some of these aspects might feel more like grocery shop lists to some people, but I found they added to my Sims. The Sims 3 allowed you to choose your sim’s favourite food, colour, and music. In the Sims 2, you could choose your turn on’s and turn off’s, such as hair colour or body type. The Sims 3 also introduced a biography section where you could type out your Sim’s backstory and any additional details you wanted to include.
While these attributes mostly contributed to generating moodlets, they could be made more integral to the game. Sims could experience increased happiness wearing their favourite colour or seeing it in a room. Sims could write higher quality songs in their preferred genre. Socials could be opened around these traits, with Sims finding friendships easier to build after discovering that they shared one or more.
The turn on and turn off system could be extended to all levels of attraction: a Sim’s sexual orientation could be defined, offering straight, gay, bisexual, or pansexual as options. No more having your female Sim chatting up Brent or Brant when you’re not looking!
8) More Traits
The ability to choose only three traits for adult sims has never felt sufficient. Even five traits don’t feel like enough for more complex characters. The option to have five traits by default (and then to unlock more “default traits” through the rewards store using a potion) would be welcome.
The inclusion of more options would be great too; who doesn’t want a “sarcastic” trait?
8) Disabilities
There are dozens of disabilities in the real world, making the inclusion of them all impossible. However, more common disabilities, such as having a bionic leg or being relegated to a wheelchair, should be represented. Elderly Sims should have the option of needing canes or walkers.
More complex disabilities, such as being deaf, mute, or blind, would be difficult to add, owing to the array of socials, such as sign language, that would need to be added. However, if such disabilities could be included, the game would be even more inclusive than it already is.
At the very least, wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs should be doable. There’s some hope that even Sims 4 could receive such features.
9) More Tattoo Options
As someone who’s a tattoo enthusiast in real life, I find the game’s selection disappointing. Moreover, I miss the versatility offered by the Sims 3 system, which allowed you to edit the size, colours, and placement of the tattoo. There need to be more tattoos, particularly with each pack; they should follow the typical categories (tribal, new school, traditional, Japanese, and more) with some funkier pieces thrown in.
Tattoos shouldn’t be limited by slots either, meaning that you should be able to have ten different designs on one leg if you choose. More skilled Simmers should be given the option to draw their own designs, and then share those designs with others on the Gallery.
A Sim could have their name, or a portrait of their significant other, inked into their skin—with wonderful or disastrous results.
10) Save an Outfit
This final feature is more about convenience than anything. Have a fashionista Sim for whom five outfit slots aren’t enough? Plan to create an asylum or group in which a single uniform is needed? Wish to transfer the same outfit to another outfit category?
This feature would allow you to save an outfit. You can already save Sims and houses to the library, and a third “closet” category could save hours of sifting through clothes in order to recreate a look. These looks could be uploaded to the Gallery. With the other features I mentioned (colour wheels, hair manipulation, dyes and stamps), outfits, along with their matching hairstyles, could be accessed effortlessly and shared with the community.
Shirts with detailed illustrations or zanier dye jobs could be uploaded and accessed by others, thereby removing the need for simpler mods and the barrier they present for those who want to keep their game “cc free.”
There are more features, most of them small, that I would love, but these ten cover what I would like to see. It goes without saying that I want to see other aspects (such as the click and drag tool and the two body sliders) given further freedom, but if even a colour wheel is added I’ll be enthused.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the announcements from Maxis Monthly? Did the Game Changers know about or have any say in the rebrand?
Ok so I’m gonna answer your last question first lol
The title “Game Changer” is definitely a little confusing because it implies that we actually change the game in some way, but we don’t. Well, most of us don’t. I think some of the bigger Game Changers have a little sway because they know the team personally and have been to the Sims Headquarters and stuff, but for the most part all we do is get early access so that we can provide our individual communities with a glimpse of the pack that goes a little more in depth than just trailers, that way people can see what’s included and decide if they want to buy it, and hopefully bring more people to the franchise in the process. And we definitely didn’t have anything to do with the rebrand, we heard about it at the same time everyone else did.
As for your first question, I’m gonna put it under a cut for a couple reasons: [a] Listen, I have opinions lol and [b] for anyone that is like me and is sensitive to colour contrast, I don’t want anyone getting a nasty headache or sore eyes if they don’t have to. Let’s do this!
So first off, LOVE that they’re adding over 1000+ decorative world objects! There have been so many things over the years in different packs that I’m sure we’ve all seen and been like “Why didn’t you let us use that!?”, and now we’ll be able to! Sucks that some creators spent so much time liberating those things for us only to now have their work be obsolete though 😕
I also think the Create-A-Sim Story Mode looks interesting. I don’t like the idea that you can’t change the sims aspiration and traits though; they’re locked in once you’ve finished answering the questions. I’m not sure how much use I’ll get out of it, as I tend to either pick specific traits based on my sim’s backstory or randomise them, but it’s nice to know the option is there and answering the questions might be fun to see what kind of sim you get!
Now, onto the rebrand.
I just don’t understand it!
Listen, I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t like change; I don’t do well with big changes at all. But this isn’t about that, this is about trying to understand why EA felt the need to rebrand The Sims 4 (which I can’t work out) and why they chose those colours, and I just… don’t understand.
I mean I understand, they’re trying to attract a younger audience with bright shiny things. But I don’t UNDERSTAND, you know? I don’t understand what prompted them to do it now, after almost five years?! Why did they feel the need to change something that didn’t need to be fixed at all? And why they went with this particular colour scheme! It’s so unnecessarily bright! As a graphic designer I’m genuinely horrified by the colours they chose and as a consumer of their product, I’m a little annoyed that they spent time and money on this when there are other things that are more important (like things that are actually broken) that keep getting the “We don’t have the resources” excuse or just flat out ignored.
Here’s the difference between the original box arts and the rebranded ones:
That blue is GOD AWFUL! It’s like Tumblr’s new blue background; I literally have a headache from looking at it! It doesn’t fit with the style of the rest of the game at all. And they claimed in the stream that the new box art designs really make the render sims “pop”… they really don’t. The backgrounds of the DLC packs are way too busy. I just I don’t understand why they couldn’t just stick with the nice clean, minimalist look they had before; it was truly a timeless design. A design that actually made the render sims pop and didn’t detract from them at all with busy backgrounds and headache-inducing colours!
Oh and can we just talk about the new base game box art render for a second? I love it, I really do. It looks cool and I’m excited to get to learn more about these new sims that are being added and according to the Gurus in the stream, all of the stuff on those sims is being added to base game (the stuff that’s not already base game that is). I’m excited about that pink hair BUT take a good look at all the other stuff… look familiar? That’s because most of us have already paid for that stuff. The jacket on the pink haired sim is from Get Famous, the beanie on the sim next to her is from Get to Work, the hair under the beanie is from Dine Out, the bracelet on the sim with the camera is from Seasons, the chef uniform in the middle is from Get to Work, the jacked on the sim up the back with the phone is from Get Together, and the sleeveless hoodie on the sim to the left of that is from Fitness Stuff. They’re all recolours of stuff from other packs. I’m all for free content, because hey it’s free, but I really wish they wouldn’t make things from other packs base game; people paid for that stuff.
Side note: I feel sorry for the people who collect the psychical copies of the games, because unless they can afford to buy new copies of all the packs, any new packs aren’t going to match their old ones now. And also the people who got tattoos of the old plumbob 😕
Which brings me to the plumbob, and yet another before and after:
The new plumbob is whatever; I don’t hate it, I just prefer the original. It matched the one in game and suited the artstyle of the whole game really well, whereas the new one looks too much like The Sims 3 and doesn’t suit The Sims 4 at all. It’s also not going to match the plumbob in-game anymore as for some reason they decided not to change that one? I mean it wouldn’t matter to me if it did because I always have my default file edited to get rid of it, but it just makes no sense to leave the original in there if you’re changing everything else.
New box art, plumbob and stuff aside, the thing that probably annoys me the most about this rebrand is that the pack icons and colours are changing. I get that they probably ran out of colours to choose from for each pack, but the fact that it’s so hard to tell the difference between the colours for the game and stuff packs is gonna be a problem for anyone who has difficulty distinguishing between different colour tones. Mr Sandwich, for example, couldn’t tell that there was a difference between the two, even after I pointed it out to him. Why didn’t they make one of them yellow?!
I personally used to find things from expansions in the catalogue by looking for the colour of each pack icon. “I know the thing I’m looking for is from Get Famous, so I’ll just keep scrolling until I see a pink icon”… well, not anymore:
All expansion packs are now teal, all game packs are now blue (a different blue than the box art blue I might add 😩), and all stuff packs are green; the only difference is the icon on them. And yes, I’m aware you can filter things by pack, that’s what I used to do for stuff and game packs because they were always the same colour, but if I’m just scrolling through say the curtains category, it’s a lot quicker to just scroll once or twice looking for an icon colour than it is to go into the little menu, click on “packs”, scroll down to the pack I want and choose it.
The new pack icons and colours also look awful on the main menu. Here’s a little before and after again:
Urgh that blue! There as nothing wrong with the original menu but now we’re gonna have the god awful blue again… not the point, sorry. Look at those icons! They’re too… saturated? busy? both? I dunno what but they look awful, especially on the blue background! At the very least they should have just made them one solid colour instead of trying to carry over the crystallized look.
And lastly the loading screen….
Again with the gross colour combinations and the background is just plain boring. The old one is much nicer and easier on the eyes.
Maybe it’s because I’m old and not the target audience for this new look but honestly I JUST DON’T GET IT! I understand that EA are trying to attract more people to the game, obviously younger people, but I really don’t think alienating and confusing the people who currently play your game in favour of luring in new people is this is the way to go about it.
Thankfully I’ve already seen a couple of the amazingly talented modders in the community say they’ll do everything they can to either give us back the original menus and loading screens or make a less obnoxious version as soon as they can, so I’m just gonna keep my fingers crossed that it won’t be too difficult for them to do and look forward to downloading those mods so I can play without getting a headache every time I have to look at the main menu and loading screen 😅
NOTE: Before anyone starts shouting at me for “being negative about a free update” just note that anon asked for my thoughts on it; these are my thoughts. If you like the new look that’s great, I’m really happy for you! But anon wanted my honest opinion and I’ve given it. Will this rebrand stop me playing the game? Of course not! The game is still the same no matter what the box art and menus look like, but that doesn’t mean I have to like them and it doesn’t mean I can’t express my disappointment about it all, especially if a follower asks for my opinion about it.

You know what I’m obsessed with as of today.
Paralives
It’s this new indie life simulator game that’s being developed and bRO. LOoK at their YouTube (look up Paralives) and the customization is amazing. It’s a rival to The Sims in all honestly. Obviously, they might not out due The Sims but I mean. They’re a new opponent. It’s just so gOOD. Here’s why:
The graphics are good.
They’re different than the Sims 4 and stuff which is pretty nice. It’s not bad. Like really not. It’s very good graphics (not too realistic like the sims but still pretty nice) and it just looks so good so far.
It’s actually being done by 3 people. Not a whole team.
I think the creators name is Alex?? I’m not 100% sure. But he’s doing this and 2 other people are helping him and the videos on the channel show how far along they are and it’s so nice.
It has so much customization
Sims got less customization as it became newer. Sims 2 you could change the color of the pillows on the couch but keep the couch the same color, have a bed frame but different sheets. Like it was customization. Sims 3 you could literally alter the color of a dress AND the fabric of it. Color wheels gALORE. Sims 4 it got switched with basic colors and stuff. Yes we got the pull and push features, but I mean. The customization is kinda missed.
But it did get better too, don’t get me wrong. Sims 2 had 4 skin tones, 2 body types, and very limited amount of hair and just 4 colors (not joking). Sims 3 got a lot more and Sims 4 had a lot of good content. Like a lot. But the placing of objects and the way you could customize things got limited and it actually gets...pretty boring. But this shows a lot of potential of decorating and I’m hYPED.
It’s a ONE purchase game
If you ever play The Sims, then you know there’s like a whole DITCH of expansion packs and stuff packs. It eventually costs A LOT of money. Which kinda sucks the fun out of it. There’s custom content that makes it fun, but all of the money is kinda sucking the fun out of it. But this game is a one time purchase. As in, you don’t need to put money into it. I believe he said that there will be DLC, BUT it is free download. As in free DLC and don’t need to put money into it. Plus, he supports CC and mods!!!11!1.
We don’t have much about how the people will look like but from those videos you can see how far along they are and it’s pretty impressive. There’s only 3 (?) people working on it that I know of so far. However, there’s still a lot more to go but it’s just looking very nice right now. I’m just hyped and idc if it doesn’t come out for a few years but I’m just so ready for when it does come out.
I love The Sims, they’ve been with me ever since I was 5. Well The Sims 2 and everything above it has been in my childhood (and now obviously). I love it and I don’t think anything can really replace it, but it would be so nice to have something other than The Sims to rely on. Because, like I’ve said before, it gets a bit boring after awhile and it’s nice to have a refresher and something else that can bring you joy. But yh.
I just gushed way too hard about a game that’s not even out yet. Or even has a release date besbbsbwbw.
But yh I recommend look up the channel and look up “Paralives” and find his Patreon (sorry I don’t have a link right now I’m about to actually go to sleep) and support him somehow. I think he has a $1 a month thing and I recommend it because it’s literally him and 2 other people (I believe correct me if I’m wrong). I would support but like. I can’t. Parents won’t let me. Don’t ask-
Anyways yeah that’s all I have to say. Just had to gush for a minute and if anyone wants to DM me and talk about it feel free too. Alright bye-

I'm pretty sure my computer would burn and die if I tried to play the Sims 4 but tell me anyway which packs are the best to buy!
Sims 4 is actually easier to run than Sims 3! Especially if you only have a few packs and no mods installed! They designed it for longevity, and it initially came out in 2014. There’s even a laptop mode designed specifically for people with lower end systems.
And, fun fact, you can try it for free! Origin allows a free trial for the Sims 4, so if you’re worried it won’t run or you’re worried you won’t like it you can always download the trial and test it out! That’s actually how I got into the game.
Though I will note before getting started: Some of the newer packs require a 64 bit operating system or a Metal-supported Mac system. Anything released after October 2019 cannot be played on a 32 bit/non-metal system.
Though at the moment that basically just excludes you from the University pack.
Also note! Different people like different stuff out of their Sims game, so if it sounds interesting don’t worry if I don’t rate it highly. I tend to play with a more realistic slant, and for items I tend to like more modern aesthetics when it comes to clothes and items. With that in mind, let’s get to the list! I’ve divided them up by pack type (Expansion, Game, or Stuff).
Expansion Packs:
1) Seasons: Must Have
I will always, always, always shill for the seasons EP of any Sims game. Frankly, I am of the opinion that it should just be base game, but whatever. It adds dynamic weather and, well, seasons which are two things that will affect your game no matter how you choose to play.
Sims 4 is rather unique from previous sim games in that it adds a calendar system and holidays. Not only can you celebrate holidays, you can actually create your own and freely edit or move them around! I’m not kidding, you can get pretty wacky. Like, worshiping garden gnomes and punching each other in the face wacky. Or you can be a loser like me, make every single Three Houses character, and make them all have a lovely Christmas together because they deserve it :x
2) City Living: Good to Have
This one is down to personal taste. I love the city aesthetic, and the apartments are pretty fun to play around with. City Living also adds some interesting festival activities and four unique city districts. Another boon, if this is something you’re interested in, is cultural diversity! Sims 4 has been making a concentrated effort to include more diversity in their games, and a lot of outfits and objects in this pack reflect that!
All of the festivals and events will still occur regardless of if you live in the city or not, so you don’t have to miss out on all of the features even if you don’t choose to use the apartments 100% of the time. Though the bulk of the new game-play really is in the city neighborhood.
3) Discover University: Good to Have (Note: This is one of those 64 bit packs)
I admittedly haven’t played around with this one extensively since it just came out, but I think it’s great fun! I put Sim Sylvain, Sim Felix, Sim Dimitri, and Sim Dedue through college and it was a struggle (in the best of ways). Dorm life, subsisting exclusively on Ramen, and staying up until 2 am working on that term paper that’s due tomorrow... What’s not to love? I’m always a big fan of University packs because, again, I like to play pretty realistically. With mods I managed to get them into a collective $80,000 of college debt and can you tell that I’m an American yet?
Plus, this one added the teaching, law, and engineering professions to the game and I will never not enjoy making Dimitri a psychology professor for the irony.
University isn’t really necessary to your sims’ lives, but it certainly does help them out along the way. You can choose to ignore it if you want to, but I don’t really see myself doing that when I play, which means this pack will get a lot of use from me personally.
4) Cats and Dogs: Good to Have
If you’re really into the whole rustic aesthetic then this is definitely the pack for you. The town they added is very cute and one of my more well used towns (currently the residence of all of my Blue Lions Sims). If you want your Felix sim to have 6 cats then this is also the pack for you, because you can’t have pets otherwise.
You can also create your own veterinary clinic, which is a feature I’ve barely touched but I’m sure someone will get a kick out of! It’s similar to running a business or owning a restaurant from some similar packs.
God, and you can do some crazy fuckin things to these pets. You can basically cross breed to your heart’s content, so you can get some weird ass combinations. There’s also a paint tool, so you can have dogs with rainbow fur and cats with green paws. Oh and you can have pet foxes and raccoons, but they basically function as dogs and cats respectively.
All in all a fun pack, even if I don’t use all of its content 100% of the time.
5) Get to Work: It’s Alright
Here’s where I start getting a little lukewarm. Get to Work added three active careers (Doctor, Scientist, and Detective) as well as the ability to own and run your own retail store. And these features are fun! ... If you use them.
With the way the Sims 4 is built, having a Sim in an active career and a Sim family with more than one or two sims can be difficult to manage. You can only load one lot at a time, so if you follow your sim to work then you can’t play your sims at home and vice versa, you have to load through every time you switch. There are no “home businesses” either, so your sim either has to live “off lot” and travel (aka you have to sit through a loading screen) tp the retail store every time you do business, or you build a living space on the retail lot and try to wrangle the game into working. This means you have to manually bring your sims “home” to the store every day, and it causes some issues.
Personally, I don’t like being minorly inconvenienced, so after the novelty wore off I barely touched these features again. Most of the CAS and Build/Buy items are career or retail focused too, so I can’t say it has any must have items. I’m putting it at #5 though because I know many people love these features and happily play around the limitations.
6) Get Famous: It’s Alright
I’ll admit, I had a lot of fun with this pack when it first came out! It adds a lot of really cool stuff, like the reputation system, fame, and what is essentially a YouTuber career. There’s also another one of those active careers (actor/actress) if that’s your thing.
Fame also works in a very interesting way in this pack, too. There are “perks” and “quirks”, so your sim can have their own celebrity brand and hordes of followers, but have extremely volatile emotions or a fear of being touched. Kind of an interesting reward/drawback system that hasn’t been present in previous sim games.
Personally though, this pack doesn’t have much longevity to me. Just like Get to Work it was fun for a little while, but I don’t particularly like playing “famous” sims so many of the pack’s features go unused. The town, Del Sol Valley, is pretty underwhelming with only a handful of lots, and kind of a sunny desert-y aesthetic. Which doesn’t pair well if you like the rain and snow from Seasons like I do.
7) Island Living: It’s Alright
This pack is great if you love island-aesthetic items and clothes, tropical islands, and/or mermaids. Personally? I love all three of those things. I’ve been using quite a few of the outfits and objects and roleplaying them as “Duscur themed” for my Dimidue family. I mean, we have no idea what Duscur actually looked like, but the items are distinct enough from most of the typical items in the game that it kind of works?
Anyways, the reason this is so low is because there’s just not much to do in this pack. Mermaids and swimming and that’s basically it. There’s only one new career (conservationist) and three part time careers (diving, fishing, and life-guarding, which I kind of thought were going to be full time careers when I bought the damn thing...)
I’ll talk about this later, but the mermaids are by far the least interesting altered life state/occult in the game. Vampires (and I believe witches) have skill trees of powers and drawbacks, similar to those celebrity perks and quirks I talked about before. Mermaids have nothing like that, so they get boring to play with rather quickly. Watching their tail flop out while they’re in the bath is kinda fun though NGL.
The town is really cool though. I love basically all the pre-built lots and I love the items, but again if you like snow this probably isn’t a world you’re going to be using much. That, and to use many of the new features (like boats and ocean swimming and building houses out over the water) you must be in this world.
8) Get Together: Skippable
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seriously used any of the features from this pack aside from the town. The build/buy is a lot of Tudor style stuff, which I don’t tend to use, and a lot of the clothing is weirdly ugly clubbing clothes.
The clubs are really the big feature of this pack. Similarly to the holidays from Seasons, you can create clubs of sims that will get together and do activities. Basically any action in the game can have a club associated with it (from cleaning to “woohoo”) and you can have club perks that make your club more powerful, and sometimes infamous!
My main issue: If you aren’t actively using this feature it doesn’t really do anything. It just kind of exists as an extra sim panel in the bottom right corner of your screen. And I didn’t use it. Like, at all. That said, I know a lot of people find it very fun! I’m just not sure it’s worth spending $20-$40 of your money on.
Game Packs
I’ll just say right off the bat, I’m not going to talk about Realm of Magic. It adds wizards and wacky magical hijinks, but I bought it at the same time as University and I haven’t gotten around to playing it much yet. I will say, they added a ton of really cool objects and outfits! Especially the rugs. God, the rugs are to die for.
1) Parenthood: Must Have
Two words: Teen Angst. This pack fleshes out a lot of the younger life states. It adds teaching moments, punishments, “character value” traits such as polite or irresponsible, curfews, volunteering, sibling rivalries, mood swings, phases, etc. You want your kid to come home dressed like a bear randomly one day? This is for you.
I admit, I find a lot of the younger life stages in this game boring to play without this pack. I don’t think I could ever go back to vanilla sims after having used it, I find it that essential to my play style. Keep in mind though, this pack will only give you good mileage if you play families with sims of all ages.
2) Dine Out: Good to Have
You can own and operate a restaurant, which functions similarly to the retail stores and vet clinics I mentioned before. However, if you don’t want to own one then you can still plop them down in your town and your sims can travel there for dinners and such.
It’s really good for role playing dates and family nights out and such, but if that’s not your thing and you don’t care about owning one then this is not the pack for you.
3) Vampires: Fun, if You’re Into It
I actually played around with Vampires a lot when the pack first came out, which was honestly just a result of my life circumstance at the time (I was taking a literature course about vampires so I had vamps on the brain).
The vampire skills and vampire banes are pretty fun to mess with, and you can create a lot of pretty unique bloodsuckers. I had a Leo and Takumi sim, and the former was extremely weak to the sun and the latter could walk around in it no problem. Made for some fun role playing.
My two criticisms:
Vampires live forever, which means you’ll eventually get bored of playing the same sims.
Vampires don’t really sleep. They only sleep to recover their vampiric energy, which is only expended through the use of powers. It does not deteriorate naturally, so your vampire could be awake 24/7 for several sim days. Thing is, that just leaves you with too much time to do stuff. They’ll max their skills pretty quickly and then what do you do? Nothing.
Oh, and if you’re in to gothic-style stuff this is a must have for you.
4 & 5) Jungle Adventure and Outdoor Retreat: They’re Alright
I’m putting these in the same slot because they basically serve the same function: Vacations. One involves diving into ruins and hacking your way through jungles, the other is camping, but they’re both basically sim-vacations.
This is another one of those pack types where either you use it or you don’t, and if you don’t it doesn’t really do anything for you. Most of the game packs are like that, actually. Personally, I don’t take my sims on sim vacations very often so I mostly keep these packs around for the items.
Though I will say Outdoor Retreat added a ton of plaid so if that’s your aesthetic then go for it.
6) Spa Day: Skippable
This one basically just allows you to place and build “spa lots” in the world. It added the wellness skill, which ties into the meditation and yoga activities. There’s also saunas and massage tables, but I have rarely if ever placed them in a home lot for personal use.
Another use it or don’t kind of thing. I don’t even have a spa lot placed on my current world, so that just goes to show you how much I use this pack.
Some of the items are cool. Unless you really like those I’d say pass.
7) Strangerville: Honestly It Just Doesn’t Make That Much Sense As a Sims Pack?
Strangerville basically added a story and quest line to the game. I hear it’s pretty fun, but I don’t really play Sims for stories and quests, I play it as a sandbox game. So although I have the pack I’ve never actually played the “story” of it. It’s really not the best Game Pack to get as an entry to the series since it’s such a departure from the typical sims experience.
The town is alright, but again another desert so forget it if you like rain and snow. Unless you really really want the military career or you like the outfits and objects then I wouldn’t personally recommend. Especially for newer players to the series.
Stuff Packs
Honestly there are waaaaaay too many of these for me to rank and I wouldn’t really describe any of them as “must haves”, so instead I’m just going to put down my five favorites. But it’s really up to you to look at the items and decide if it’s worth your $10. Each pack adds a new “game-play” feature, though they’re very small and can be lived without pretty easily.
1) Laundry Day Stuff
This entire pack was actually voted on and “created” by Sims players so that’s a huge plus! More rustic-style items, and the game-play feature here is, obviously, laundry. Since I like playing more realistically, adding another chore was actually worth the money for me lmao. Plus all of the clothes are cute and comfy looking!
The Sims Team also has an amazing sense of humor and named an entire set of the items “Wicker Whims” after the WickedWhims sex mod for the game. Which, honestly? When a dev interacts with players like that it’s always really endearing to me.
2) Movie Hangout Stuff
The aesthetic of this pack is Boho-chic for some reason, so if you like that this pack delivers! The new game-play feature is popcorn and watching movies which can be fun for roleplaying families.
3) Kids Room Stuff
Another one that’s only useful if you play families, but it did add a cute little trading card game for kids. They can collect cards and battle them, similar to Pokemon. Unfortunately, adults can’t play, but I’m sure there’s a mod out there for that somewhere. A lot of the items look really good too, and I use them all semi-frequently. Kids tend to get the short end of the stick when new packs come out, so getting a bunch of hair, outfits, and items for them fills a good niche.
4) Perfect Patio Stuff
Lots of outdoorsy type items, as the name implies. Wicker chairs and outdoor counter tops and the like. This bad boy also brought the return of hot tubs (which probably has the cutest woohoo animation in the game, just saying).
5) Moschino Stuff
The items have a mostly modern, sleek aesthetic, and it adds the freelance photographer career to the game (which is currently what Sim Sylvain is employed as). I basically recommend it on those merits, because the clothes it added are godawful ugly and I’m otherwise not a huge fan of brand-sponsored packs. They’re nothing really new for The Sims, but luxury brands with hideous overpriced clothes aren’t really my thing.
Some Other General Advice for Starting Out
I covered some of this stuff further up but I’ll repeat in case people just skimmed this really long post.
I will warn everyone stay away from “My First Pet Stuff”! You are basically required to own Cats and Dogs to make use of a good chunk of its items, so you might just be wasting your money.
You can get a trial of the game for free if you just want to test it out to see if you’ll like it or if your computer will run it.
Never buy a pack at full price. I’m not kidding when I say they have sales for this game every couple of months. Even if there isn’t a sale there is a bundle option, which is significantly cheaper than buying individual packs! Discover University was $40 at full price. I purchased a bundle with Discover University, Realm of Magic, and Moschino Stuff for $50. Had I bought them separately it would have ran me $70.
In fact sometimes they give the base game out for free! I know they did a promotion like this this past summer. Sims really makes their money from Expansion Packs, so one of their marketing strategies is to give the base game out for free to entice you to play. Even if it’s not free, it’s always steeply discounted during sales. I believe you can get it for $6 right now. I have 1000+ hours in this game, so six dollars is pretty cheap for that much entertainment.
You can see every single item and outfit in a pack before you buy it. So if you’re not sure if it’s for you, just look! The items are listed right there on the Origin store page.
Mods are amazing. Custom content is amazing. If anyone is curious I can create a list of the mods I use/Custom Content I use for my various Fire Emblem sims.

MY WORLD *Updated*
**The world below has been updated for the latest patches and for the Get Famous expansion pack.**
Hello simmers!
So, I have been working on a little project for a while now (6 months or so) and now it is time to share it with you.
Some of you, like me, will be avid “perfect world players” where all you want to do is create a world that is filled with sims that have relationships, skills, careers and interesting backstories. Most importantly, the quest of every such player is to eradicate every last ugly townie out there. That one is the hardest to fix and at the moment of saving it was done. However, I can’t guarantee the game won’t generate new fashion disasters to walk around. Urgh!
In this world, you will really see how I play the game. Therefore the sims are a combination of my own creations and those of simmers I deeply admire. Therefore, you may even see your own household or lot in there. Credit is given in every backstory blurb. This is the same with the lots and luckily the “original by” sticks on them, so you can see the creator and their own blurb in the lot info.
♥ What is included? ♥
All the worlds have new beautiful lots with traits.
4 worlds have a starter home for your own sims.
All original townies have been updated with skills, relationships etc.
There are new exciting sims with storylines, careers and skills.
Game generated townies have been tweaked.
Some fun nods to Sims 2 and Sims 3.
Many personal touches (pictures, easter eggs and inside jokes) to find.
New clubs with points and rivalries.
♥ What do you need? ♥
ALL THE PACKS apart from My First Pet Stuff and Fitness Stuff. Sorry, but it’s a true reflection of my gameplay and I play with all these packs. You can still download this world but some items might be replaced by substitutes, and we all know how those pan out. Also, naked bald sims are never a good look.
217 MB of free space for this world.
♥ Recommendations ♥
❥ I recommend this default skin just to make your sims shine! ❥ I also recommend using MC Command Center.
❥ Finally, I recommend using this mod to stop random townie generation. For me this last one is a must!
How to install?
❥ Make a backup of your Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Saves folder. ❥ Download the file, unzip, and place files in Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Saves. ❥ Open your game, enter the save. It is named “Isleroux No CC World”.
♥ Sidenote ♥
I was inspired to share this after I saw lilsimsie share her Simsie’s starter save. I went a little bit further with the stories etc because that is my jam, therefore this is not a starter save but a fully fledged no cc world to get yourself immersed in.
DOWNLOAD original (SFS)
*DOWNLOAD VERSION 2* (SFS)
*DOWNLOAD VERSION 2* (MediaFire)
**The new updated version has fixed some relationships, introduces you to new characters, storylines and venues. When you enter the game, you will attend Cassandra’s dream gothic wedding to Malcolm Landgraab. It is the high simsociety event of the year and you are all cordially invited.**
Please contact me to let me know of any issues and also to tell me what you think of it. I could add updates and amend anything that you think needs changed.
Most importantly, I really hope you enjoy playing this world. Happy simming! ~isy~ ツ
