Hamburger Steak with Mushroom Gravy! tonight for dinner. My husband said it’s his favorite so far. We’ve only been doing this for a couple weeks, but can really tell a difference and I’m cooking so much more now. I love it.😋

Mum’s Braised Five-Spice Pig’s Trotter (五香卤猪蹄) with shiitake mushrooms and whole garlic cloves in dark soya sauce. Also in the menu is Cauliflower & Squid Stir-Fry with minced pork and white rice drizzled in braising gravy.

Mum wanted noodles so we went back to XO Minced Meat Noodle (XO 肉脞麵) at Sembawang Shopping Centre. She decided to go with the S$4.50 bowl of Lor Mee (卤面). Came with braised pork bellies, half a braised egg, bean curd roll and fishcake slices drenched with dark brown gravy thickened with corn starch plus a crispy dumpling and tempura bits.
First time ordering the S$6.50 Tom Yum Mini Pot Noodle (冬炎小碗面) which came with a soup pot with food candle underneath and noodles in a separate bowl. A spoonful of the soup jolted up all the taste buds with that sourness and spiciness. The noodles are springy and the crunchy of tempura bits add to the different overall textures.
