The knuckles series has them call each other#roommates but doesn't explicitly confirm all of their nuclear family fantasies#Ergo‚ everything after episode 1 should be ignored. And even though this series has no troubles making explicitly clear which characters are#in nuclear family (or other types) with each other#and even though there's nothing stopping paramount or sega from having them explicitly be called Sonic's siblings#the loud fandom must take it upon themselves to decide that perceived ambiguity is confirmation#Oh and before you ask about my thoughts on Maddie calling Knuckles her son in one scene just. im fully expecting the show to go the way of the movies. it doesnt help Sea of Monsters is almost unanimously the least favorite book of the first series. People frequently forget it even exists or what happens in it, especially more casual fans.
Heck, just look at how little fanfare the second season has gotten so far as compared to the build up to s1. I wouldn't be surprised if s2 totally flops. It would be a little funny.

movie sonadow would be so l umity-coded…and i say this bc their dynamic is similar to the games but with a different and tender perspective: they both empathize deeply with each other now, and this shadow is not as reticent or closed off bc of that. that being said: movie!sonic would ABSOLUTELY 'YOU'RE the sweet potato!' the hell out of shadow

Dreamt of a BuckTommy ancient Rome AU where Tommy is a Centurion (named something like Tiberius or close to his name) and Buck is a young Gael warrior (named Eogan) who was captured during a roman raid. Anyway, Eogan is feral at first and they don't understand each other because they don't speak the same language and also, Tiberius is roman so Eogan hates his guts but there's something about the square man in the red cape, how he cares, how there's a question in his eyes, a desire to leave this campaign, leave Rome, leave it all, and for Tiberius it's the same, he had never really wanted for anything, or even anyone until he met this ragged, savage warrior, covered in blood and mud with his twisting tattoos and warpaint, and still the ghost of a boy hidden behind his hardened features.

hate to say it but strictly on a storytelling level civil war kind of slaps. this can be said about alex garland: he knows how to spin a yarn
#civil war 2024#both films are so unserious but i liked it way more than i did that new sam esmail movie whatever the name was#and although the Ooohh The Morally Gray Gaze theme has been overdone to hell and back post-jordan peele's Nope#what can i say i unfortunately love it. yes what IF the gaze and something something entertainment and also whoaaahhh the#audience is complicit........ whaaat...! anyway that's where garland shines imo. in a slightly cringe mr. robot kind of way#you know what i mean.#talented filmmaking hotshots whose personality is like. guy who reads Vice. taking themselves embarrassingly seriously as they make some a#admittedly pretty good flicks.

Just watched the G5 MLP movie and it was pretty good, I had fun! <- Bitch who has never consumed any piece of MLP media ever before now
#was it the best most nuanced allegory for racism ever? no not at all#but it certainly was far from the most awful out there. OSPC was a coproduction between Ardleigh Films and Associated British Pathé#(they of the famous news reels‚ and themselves a subsidiary of Associated British Picture Corporation). a year or two later and this#would probably have been made in house by ABC themselves‚ but the franchise was only a year old at this point and still finding its feet#the concept is simple but promising: each week‚ a member of the Overseas Press Club of America (a real and still extant organisation) tells#a tale from their careers‚ an unusual instance or shocking event that makes for good tv. these tales are true! says the narrator in the#show's opening moments‚ and these ppl exist! frankly that's something i take with a large grain of salt; whilst some stories certainly have#direct factual origins (there's an episode about a catholic priest going undercover with a gang of street toughs which ends with footage of#the actual figure that inspired the ep) but others are highly questionable (the first‚ about a Norwegian resistance fighter who has plastic#surgery and takes the place of a relatively high ranking nazi officer; i feel like that's something that would be better known‚ yknow??)#this ep is about a nazi plot to destabilise the French franc just prior to ww2; quite believable and certainly the nazis did dabble in#producing counterfeit money‚ tho the examples i found online all relate to pound sterling or latterly the us dollar‚ not the franc)#our journalist of the week is played by Lee Patterson‚ a minor film star in british b movies at this point‚ with swooningly handsome Anton#Diffring (who had fled nazi persecution himself) as the villain. Alfie's part is pretty small‚ he's just the french cop keeping every one#in sight and letting events play out (cue some wonderful Alfie cheshire cat grins). Patterson (and maybe Diffring) got to fly out to actual#real Paris to film some location work and establishing shots (a benefit of making a series about the OSPC was that they arranged flights#for cast and crew). poor Alf didn't get a holiday tho; his scenes are conspicuously studio based‚ even when he's meant to be on the banks#of the Seine...#so yes‚ a fun little series‚ even if (so far) the wide scope of potential stories does seem to favour ww2 stuff. good luck finding a copy#tho; it took me months of trawling to find a reasonably priced 2nd hand copy (Amazon currently have a copy for £79.99 which.. for 2 discs#is kind of insane). a victim of the price gouging which seems to have affected some of the lesser known network titles since their#dissolution. sad times for the fan of painfully obscure old tv.. if I ever learn how to make things be on a computer‚ tho‚ I'll happily#share

#movies#film#cinema#Damn I wish Cal was here#Andre and Ben are really interesting to listen to#This movie is one of those movies where it needs like 3 commentaries#It needs one with just Ben Coccio by himself#then one with Cal and Andre by themselves#then another with all 3 of them#Not all movies do that but I love when studios/filmmakers have multiple commentaries to create a sense of thorough intimacy#due to the nature of how commentaries are set up they can be quite restrictive/pressing/limited with no pauses or rewinds.#so I find cast/crew don't have enough time or able to present how they would like to if they could edit/rewind or pause for fluent presenta#So I love when they have director commentaries and actor commentaries or composer commentaries#Platoon's dvd extras are so dope they got multiple commentaries and one with military adviser Dale Dye who was a RL vietnam vet#Or Hostel's commentaries where one is just Eli Roth and another is Tarantino and Eli Roth with Scott Spiegal#idk if Zero Day ever got a blu-ray release but I think it should but the DV technology of the camera is kinda at it's limit of resolution#but an AI upscaling with 20 years later retrospective with Ben Cal and Andre would be sooo dope along with updated commentaries#Every few years I always rewatch Zero Day so that time has come that last few days lol#Ever since Columbine as a lil kid I have always been into spree-murders and active shooter incidents#I remember reading a peer-reviewed paper called Pseudo-Commandos#And Eric and Dylan and Andre and Cal would be dubbed Pseudo-Commandos where they dress up in a semi-military fashion#and have a delusion of superiority mixed with perceived sense of persecution whether it's true or not#it went into the Postal shooter from the 80s as well and what he went through along#plus I read another book called Going Postal which also went into postal shootings along with school shootings#I want to make a film about spree murders or an active shooter/s but I remember just getting so tired of the subject matter#because every 3 weeks there was some new shooter in the headlines and I found myself not wanting to be exploitative#When I write/direct my film I'd like it to address and study the character of such an individual but not try to be too political#or exploitative and focus on the ambiguities that are left behind when someone does this#as a society I noticed we stopped asking the questions on why and stopped having constructive conversations#it feels like as a coping mechanism we've started treating them like tornados or natural disasters

i think one of the things that annoys me the most about booktok is how the majority of them absolutely refuse to read anything other than boring mafia smut or thinly veiled reylo fanfiction. obviously everyone is gonna have their genre preferences, but to never venture outside of them?? this obviously includes their unilateral dismissal of classics, but they completely ignore the overwhelming majority of all books that exist on this fucking planet.
it’s one thing for me to say that i prefer horror and thriller books while also deeply loving antiwar novels and realistic sci-fi, these people say they like “spicy seggsy enemies to lovers only one bed” or whatever the fuck and just don’t even try to find out if they like anything else.
