you have always been sweet to everyone at blue lock, kindly telling them that you hopes the match is a good one.

“she’s too much of a princess, no way her and that lame team could beat us!” the opposing team would whisper to each other, looking over to your smiling face.

pfft, you, a striker? no way!

that’s what they thought.

“the fuck do you think you’re doing?! get out of my way!” you’d shout, voice bouncing off of the room’s walls.

“you can’t even fucking score?! what’s up with you!” you scream at a teammate, eyes completely shaded with ego as you shot glares to whoever dared to speak back to you.

hearing that familiar voice ringing through the hallway, you cannot help but wipe your tears away as fast as you could. you can’t let him see you crying like this. you can’t make him worried.

gojo opens the door to your shared bedroom, noticing you sitting on the floor, which was weird when there was a bed behind you. he could immediately sense that something was wrong with you today. there was red surrounding your eyes, cheeks and nose, and tears stained on his hoodie that you were wearing.

however, you did your best to put on a smile, followed by a “welcome back home” in a shaky voice.

he puts down his bag, and sits down on the floor beside you, then pulling you in by the waist. you rested your head on his shoulder, starting to feel like it was harder to stop yourself from letting your tears flow again. nevertheless, you did your best as you didn’t want to worry him.

despite your efforts, satoru gojo was always one step ahead and could read you like a book.

“y/n. i’m not forcing you to, but please tell me what’s on your mind. because i love you. share some of your worries with me.” he says as he looks down on your figure with a concerned gaze.

you knew it was coming after he sat down on the floor with you, but you still couldn’t contain your tears. you gripped onto his shirt, crying softly with your head in his chest, creating stains on it. he held you close, with his hand rubbing comforting circles on your back while the other combs through your hair with his fingers. he places his chin on your head, whispering sweet nothings to calm you down.

“i just.. can’t deal with my problems on my own. people know me as an independent and cheerful person, but i can’t be cheerful everytime, right? i try my best to be what others think of me, but i can’t. i don’t find myself useful anymore.”

your words made you cry harder. gojo could sense his heart breaking upon seeing you like this. he wanted to protect you from all the curses and evil thoughts in this world, but even as the strongest, he couldn’t do so. thus, the most he could do was to comfort and love you.

“but i don’t think that way. you’re the strongest person in the world to me. and even the strongest has their bad days, but thats okay. because i’m here for you, and i love you.”

gojo guides you up onto the bed, then goes to change into more comfortable clothes. when he comes back, he finds you asleep, cuddling his pillow. he cannot help but giggle softly at the sight and took a few pictures to save in his folder dedicated to you. he climbs onto the bed and holds your body close to his, as if you would disappear if he’d let go. you snuggled into his chest for warmth, hugging him tight.

“i’ll always be here for you, my love. no matter what happens, my love for you will never change.”

Bc for the other races - human is a wider category than usual, tall men aren't always the Everyman, elves are long lived but that doesn't make them wiser, and halflings are mature, worldly and resourceful, which I feel like does a lot to break free of typical fantasy pigeon holeing. But the orcs are just sorta... The Bad Guy but Not That Bad I guess? Theoretically it's a departure from the "super evil forever no exceptions" idea of the but it's still so far behind what needs to be done to make it less of a lazy, racist trope.

Yeah, again I'm not west Asian or Arab like I said, but between reading stuff ppl online write n talking to my Iraqi friend + rereading dungeon Meshi and really trying to analyze it, it kinda stood out to me. I will say I was a little unconfident posting about it bc it's 3 things (4 if you count the name note) but theyre still really notable at least to me. The hand/foot cutting is I feel the most explicit? Because that's such a fucked up stereotype it just stands out immediately. I don't necessarily know if the half foot/middle east connection was intentional, because I assume Japan/Asia in general has a different relationship with West Asia (since they are the "far east" in comparison, so "Middle East" wouldnt really make sense?), but it could be one of those things that colonialism managed to spread. I'm not very knowledgeable about that, but even if it wasn't intentional I think it's a very interesting parallel in how language can be used to categorize people as "normal/other". So i can't say if its intentional or not, but it's definitely an interesting lens to consider the story thru. Id also say I believe halflings are said to be native to a place that's east from where the story takes place, but not the eastern continent (which is p much easy Asia). I've seen some ppl take this to mean eastern Europe, and I don't think that's wrong, but I think u could also think of it as west Asia? Idk if we ever got much info on it in story, so I might be missing some details. (Honestly I'd personally HC that halflings are generally mixed Eastern European/West Asian- not to conflate the two, but rather Im imaging the majority of them are in a kinda blended culture).

Hm is this the place i can go more in depth about my legitimate weirder sorta "these characters would never even meet let alone be friends" thing bc hear me out:

Sammy, Alejandro, Kitty. Bad Older Sibling Squad (Kitty becomes an alumni/is still just friends with them, obvs. Emma's improvement n development are fantastic to see) I just like the idea they somehow meet n have even maybe SEEN the respective seasons the others were in, and while Kitty is in a much better place, shes still like. yk that was still probably multiple years if not longer shes been kinda treated like that, it just came to a boiling point here, etcetc, and in the end her being a part of it is, more of knowing how it felt, what theyre going through, and an intense deep desire to protect Sammy lol Alejandro is. is there bc i said so. Idk what to tell u i think he can become less of a douche if he had a better support system and was encouraged to do like. Not Evil and Manipulative shit. would that change him entirely??? no. but perhaps he could be allowed two (2) friends of a more normal non snarky/mean/antagonistic nature.

Who DO hate his brother n DONT judge him when he goes off about whatever is going on in his life currently. Like im not gonna get into my full Alejandro analysis bc that. that'd take way too long. and i am alllll too aware a lot of it is headcanons n bias ill have to lay out proper like. but you cant come to my house n say oh yeah his worst fear is his older brother :)" n think its chill or ok or normal or nothing. idc if its a cartoon huff shorts, thats fucked UP dude.

plus side note i hc alejandro as Nonbinary and i think two adorable n probably fashion forward girls will b happy to help him on days he wants to lean more feminine or a bit more out there. nothing to do with their shared trauma, just an extra bit.

mainly the fact that none of them could be open or vulnerable with each other …. to be honest i havent looked at sashisu very closely before but this hit me bc. I FEEL LIKE I RELATE SM :; like. i have a best friend who i’ve known since i was a baby but we’ve never ever had a serious conversation once… maybe this is unrelated but that is so tragic because to me friendships really struggle to be strong and stable against one another if you can’t ever show the side of you that’s struggling … being vulnerable w one another is key to bonding :’3

i have some thoughts about them— mainly shoko…. to me it kinda seems like she kept them at an arms length away this entire time on purpose and she still does…. maybe i’m spitballing idk i’m just basing it off the fact that satoru and suguru called her shoko but she still referred to them by surname even ‘til where we currently r in the manga (which. i will also ignore but i cant lie the memes were so funny…) but my thinking is that she did so because. even though we never really saw her much i think that’s it since she was a reversed ct user n probably didn’t have much experience fighting… maybe. hear me out just MAYBE she knew what might become of satoru and suguru since they were so enveloped in fighting and being the strongest, and both of them were so headstrong and arrogant for lack of a better term that she might’ve just… tried to keep herself from getting attached n being hurt even more than she already might’ve been simultaneously 😞😞

that still just makes me so so sad though….. they always looked so happy when they were together… maybe if they could’ve gotten suguru to talk and really listened to him for once…. alas ;; gege is an evil thing

i feel exactly the same, i have two childhood friends who im very close to but none of us have ever been the type to really be vulnerable like that w each other and !! i absolutely think that strong connections need that, u need to be able to show even ur weaker side… n i guess the tragedy of suguru’s character is that he never felt comfortable showing his ”weak self” to shoko and satoru. T_T he will always make me cry like no other ….

BUT YES SHOKO !!! ur so valid riko. i love this woman so much n i think shes so interesting to talk abt !! ive been thinking abt the name thing too, i feel like its very telling of the sashisu dynamic; the fact that satoru and suguru ONLY (and i mean only) ever referred to each other w their given names, even after suguru’s defection… and how shoko refers to them as ”gojo” and ”geto” even though gojo still calls her shoko…,

i think its super interesting !! i rly rly wish i was able to read the og japanese manga, bc i feel like so many little language details like that get lost in translation (esp since the official jjk translation is kinda bad lol)… i wish we knew if shoko called them by their given names in high school, i want to think so but we just dont know </3

hello!!!!!! tee hee hee im glad my insane words make some sense 2 you. i can surely attempt 2 talk abt bosselot some more + specifically abt fate. hrm . mission commence.

i guess. i suppose there's an element of fate like in a cruel twist of fate way running through the whole saga of the boss, the sorrow, ocelot, snake etc; like when the boss kills the sorrow, neither of them know the other is involved, she doesn't know it's him until they come face to face etc. and they've no choice but for the sorrow to die. star crossed lovers or whatever the hell.

and then in mgs3 its the fuckin. ocelot doesnt even know who the boss is at the start. much less that she's his mother. and he falls in love/is infatuated with snake whilst being totally unaware that snake is later going to kill his mother. thats not exactly fate ig or is it idk what im saying here but like....u know??? its the cruel irony of it all basically. i suppose there's an element of history repeating itself (which is in the wider series a big element ig. never ending cycles.) one must live and one must die, first with the boss + the sorrow and then with the boss + snake.

i guess also hghgfgfm. have u ever seen that post, its in the bosselot tag i think by captmelbourne and it goes like. 'thinking abt ocelot being born from a snake shaped wound and destiny and shit.' and jhghg listen i think abt that always. idk. ocelot being fated to/born to meet snake or something. idk.

+ on subject of parallels: the way they see themselves reflected in each other in relation to the boss. like big boss starting off as the rookie kid mentored by the boss. and then later he then becomes the mentor to ocelot the rookie kid. oh and ocelot just happens to be the son of the boss. ! and also which i guess maybe links to what i already said before abt the coma + the 9 years bringing them equal ish idk.?

i suppose in a wider non-bosselot way maybe there's some kind of fate or full-circleness about ocelot in mgs4 being killed by solid snake. i.e. he was born from a snake shaped wound + was eventually killed by a snake. hm. ...

Hey do you want to talk about your FFTA OCs?? I want to hear about them...

OKAY i've had this ask sitting for a week and im so sorry abt that! I admittedly do not have... much for my FFTA OCs buT what i do have I really really dig so I hope that this interests u too, anon! gonna put this under a cut just cause it might get a little long!

this is all based on characters I had during my last FFTA run and I kind of want to develop them as FFTA2 OCs as well cause I like the class selection in the second game much better. But for now here's my current somewhat developed members of Clan Nutsy!

all of their names are subject to change of course, and I do have other clan members in mind but I just haven't really drawn them at all yet FHLSD.

Mac is a White Mage, but spent a lot of his time in Clan life as a Black Mage. His last Clan before Nutsy was a rogue-ish group that hunted down bounties and targeted other Clans in Jagds, so a real nasty crew.

I have a headcanon that Black Magic affects Humes differently than Nu Mou or Moogles, who are also proficient with it. Which is why Black Mage Humes look so like... weird in comparison? Because Mac spent a lot of time involved with Black Magic and he was committing evil acts, his hands became permanently "scarred" and look all weird. they dont hurt or anything, but people would probably be super uncomfortable with seeing them.

Because of this he covers his arms in bandages, and he left his old clan on bad terms. he's kind of on the run from them because they really dont like when people leave!

At this time I like to think of him as the de-facto leader of the clan! personality-wise he's wise but hot-headed, and intelligent but absolutely stupid in some cases. His experience with various magics, though, make him a strong force to be reckoned with. He's absolutely the definition of the "I'm a healer, but-" meme

Roker is like the clan's second in command, and i ABSOLUTELY ship him and Mac. Roker is kind and strong, and wants to support his clanmates with his own two hands. He has simple motives but he has pure feelings. genuinely the best person.

My idea for him is that he used to be a part of the Castle Guard as a Templar, but abandoned that once a corrupt king came into power. He spent time as a sword-for-hire before joining Clan Nutsy as a Gladiator. both he and Mac get along in a lot of ways because they have somewhat similar backgrounds, but they butt heads since they have different approaches with most problems. They balance each other out and I love them.

Roker's dream is to someday retire and live in the country or something. he's a lovely guy and MAN i just love Bangaa in general. I have more in mind besides him but nothing really fleshed out.

Finn my BOY is a Mog Knight with a lot of Gunner abilities, so I like to think of him as having a Gunblade (even tho like obvs thats not in the game). He drinks, fucks, and overall is kind of just a fun guy to be around. But he's definitely a hard hitter on the team. I don't have much else for him but i love him.

Odonel is my Moogle Juggler! He has some Tinkerer skills as well, and he's kind of just a chaotic little fella. I adore his design a lot and I wanna draw him more and flesh him out but he's probably got the least out of this whole group in terms of concepting and stuff put into him.

and lastly my two Nu Mou! Kief is the one on the left here (art colored by my lovely partner btw!) and Elaine is the one on the right! Kief is relaxed and peaceful, a real chill guy. He specializes as an Illusionist with some interest in Beastmastery, even though he SUCKS with monsters. Elaine is transfem, and i like to think she was closeted when she joined the clan and then came out to her found family and everyone was like "fuck yeah" because that makes me happy. She is an Alchemist/Sage and she is also pretty darn powerful. I think i like the idea of her getting close to Kief, admiring his open nature and then kind of opening up to him about her gender experience and stuff. idk idk idk all very early concept stuff but it makes my heart worm.

but YEAHH thats all i rlly got so far!! if anyone has ideas im always open to them but also KJFLHDSF dont be sad if i dont go with ur ideas or smth im just here to have fun

Hey there. I dont know how to word it, but like can u tell a bit more about how ancient greek deities and religion is still relevant in todays greece? I mean it is obv since culture usually doesnt just stop but like the practical examples. u obv have a lot of museums and touristic things, but how else is it integrated in the normal life of greek people? (Ie are streets named after a religious figure (god or hero or whatever) or buildings? Do you have festivities where its picked up again? 1/3

I mean without people who are practising that religion actively anyway. Thats a small part right? But what about the general perception?) Also damn thanks for mentioning it again about the word race. Like i hate that word when it is meant for humans. After ww2 and the nazis how can people still use it comfortably?Also there is no biological prove of the definition of race being applicable to the human species. Just biologically speaking. Ugh americans are sometimes kinda weird. I mean idk maybe its because im german and growing up you quickly learn how horrific the race discourse and what followed was. If one uses the word race for people here everybody would think that person is a nazi. Anyways sorry for my rambling. Hope no ask gets eaten by tumblr. Yes there are streets, people and franchises named after Greek ancient heroes and gods and sacred places. They are also in the symbols of our national institutions – Like Hermes, the symbol of our modern post office. I have also seen Athena in educational books, if I am not mistaken. Aphrodite exists in Cypriots’ coins and passports. Dionysos in our wine bottles – or the wine firm can also be named Dionysos. Oils with the face and name of Athena. And many more.

Some more stuff that have stayed in the culture from the ancient years:

1) The art style of Christian Orthodox agiographies is based on the ancient Greek art (the style close to the coming of Christianity in the country)

2) In Christmas or in Carnival (depending on the area) men smugde their face with coal to imitate bad spirts (or to chase them away). They drink A LOT, dance and have fun, like more tame satyrs - the Church doesn’t approve :P This custom has Dionysiac roots. Speaking of festivals, the ancient celebration of Phallophoria has been revived in Athens the last few years.

3) We have Protomaya (the first of May, which we celebrate by making wreaths from flowers). Ιt’s an ancient tradition, marking the beginning of spring.

4) Greeks never stopped believing in creatures of the forest, spirts and elves (we have our own elves, Kalikantzaroi). What was naiades are now “neraides” and nymphs are still… “nymphs”. There are also re-enactments of stories which include those creatures or other darker ones. People are dressed up as demons or ghosts, wearing pelts and bones on them (something tells me that didn’t come from the Christian faith :P)

5) We decorate the Epitaphios (the tomb of Christ which is set up every Easter) with flowers and the process kinda seems like the adornment of old ancient statues (I remember there was the ancient celebration of Plintiria where people washed and adorned the statues of the gods with flowers). Plus, each traditional house has a section with images of the saints and candles, like a small shrine. 

6) In ancient years people we leaving a gold or marble piece with the ailment engraved in the temples of Asclepios or other gods in order to be healed. Those pieces had carved on them the body parts that they want healed. This tradition holds till our days in Christian churches. 

7) In our recent tradition we refer to Death as Charon and the Afterlife/Place after death as Hades.

8) Many Christian religious sites are sites which were connected to the ancient gods. Unfortunately I have only learned that by word of mouth and I haven’t done more research on it.

9) We have more pagan stuff like hiding coins in our Christmas pies, worshipping bones or whole skeletons of saints. Some of them are said (or “proven” to produce myrrh). We also keep holy oil from the church or small pieces of the cross of Christ. I don’t know if all of those trends were happening in ancient Greece but certainly not all of them were created by Christianity. 

10) In funerals we still have “offerings” of wine to graves (we straight up pour wine into the hole. We also eat koliva, which is an ancient recipe. Another ancient recipe is melomakarona which were served in ancient funerals but are now a Christmas dessert. 

11) We believe in the Evil Eye, which was present in ancient Greece as it’s evident from ancient vessels. It was an orange and black eye then but today we have it as blue and white (as some middle eastern cultures). 

12) Greeks are in general close to their ancient past since there are ancient sites and archeological museums everywhere. It’s very hard to avoid history. For example, I spent most of my summers next to mt Olympus, in Pieria. And yes, half of shops or brands in the area were named after the old gods or Olympus. I also grew up next to Pella and I grew up singing “Macedonia the Great, the land of Alexander” in school. Others might have grown up in Sparta, in Amfissa, next to Delphi, or close to the Acheron river.

There are probably some other small pieces of ancient culture that I have forgotten. But that’s all for now! If you know more ancient stuff continuing in Greece today feel free to add them to the list!

Are Very Important Ideas. Stiles, independently wealthy and riding that oh-so blurry line of eccentric millionaire, wants a book. A book that somehow ended up in Switzerland. So he’s there, chasing down leads, paying for information, making a few light threats here and there, when his phone gets stolen while he waits on a crowded train platform. 

Because here’s the thing: Stiles might have millions, but he still dresses like a college student who works at a thrift store. Nothing is softer than worn-out flannel, alright? 

So he looks exactly like one of the two dozen other 20-something backpackers. But he’s paying more attention than them. When he feels something lift out of his pocket, he immediately turns only to see someone retreating, quickly lifting other phones and wallets as they move. Only one other man notices. 

Unfortunately it’s too late for both of them. The pickpocket has both their phones, and Peter’s wallet, and is already exiting the station. 

Cue an afternoon race of tracking down the pickpocket, because Stiles’ phone has information on it that he absolutely must have in order to get the book, and Peter just can’t fuckin’ afford to replace his phone, especially if his wallet is also gone. 

They chase down the motherfucker, only to find that the pickpocket had enemies of their own, because the chase ends when they stumble onto a murder scene featuring the pickpocket. They side eye each other for a moment, wondering how the other person is gonna handle it, but they both end up just grabbing their stuff and running, before calling in an anonymous tip later.

Stiles offers to pay for Peter’s hotel that night as a thank-you for helping him get his phone back, and at first Peter’s like, “Cool, let’s find a hostel” and Stiles is like “Nope” and that’s when Peter finds out that Stiles is fucking loaded. 

One conversation leads to another, and curiosity leads to more questions, and before they really decide on anything Stiles is chasing after this underground supernatural trafficking ring that has his fucking book, and Peter is caught up in the hurricane. They’re dashing all over Europe, from Switzerland to Austria to Hungary, staying in incredible hotels because u can’t hunt down artifacts and bad guys (or at least guys worse than them) if ur not getting a good night’s rest, and you better fuckin’ beLIEVE that at least one of those hotels only has one bed left. 

Anyway they also definitely have to get dressed up to break into a formal event at least once, and Stiles has a lot of fun watching Peter try on different tuxes, and when Peter can’t make up his mind Stiles is like “You can decide later, we’ll take both.” 

The formal event is also probably where they end up needing to steal a car. Peter electronically “hot wires” the Shelby Cobra while Stiles shoots back at an asshole or five, and after a few minutes of driving Peter’s like, “They can’t shoot the car. The car is too nice to be shot. Go for the head, Stiles, this car is the new love of my life.” He may or may not shed a tear when they have to ditch it in order to not get caught. 

When it’s all over; when Stiles has his book and the leader of the supernatural trafficking ring is dead, when Peter only has a week of his gap year left; that’s when Stiles says, “First class back to Beacon Hills?” and Peter says, “Yes please.” 

On the flight home, Stiles produces a box of the Swiss chocolates that Peter liked so much. 

When they land it’s a little chilly, and Stiles pulls a lovely suede jacket out of his luggage; one from a shop that Peter was looking at. It’s tailored to his measurements. 

On the way home, Stiles asks if they can stop by his place first, and Peter’s like, “Your place? You have a place here?” 

And Stiles is like, “I do now.”

And they pull in, and there are the two Shelby Cobras because Stiles wasn’t sure which color he would want. 

Is it all a bit much? 

Of course, but what else could Stiles and Peter ever be.
