Jim takes things slow, following Valen's lead in their relationship. He's content to just be together, and he doesn't want to overstep after their first kiss. He only starts kissing Valen on the mouth after Valen starts.

Valen starts to warm up to the idea of kissing, and he starts to kiss Jim on the mouth sometimes before bed. One night, as they lay there in bed, Valen asks Jim how the fangs affect kisses. Does he accidentally hurt him? Does it make it scary?

"I'm glad," is what he says instead, and he kisses Jim again, folding his arms into his chest and letting himself be held.

Jim kisses Valen back through a smile, holding him. "How about you?" he asks after. "I know you've got your own stuff to deal with. Am I scary?"

"You're not scary, no." It's difficult to explain what aspect of being with Jim is scary. He's scared of the potential of something.

"You forget sometimes? Go back there in your head?" Jim asks. That's been happening to him, it's terrifying and annoying. He figures maybe it happens to Valen, too.

"Yes, a little," he says. "Although I imagine it's not as bad for me as it is for you. What you went through is much worse than anything I've ever gone through."

"It's not a competition. You don't need to play it down like that. What you went through was fucked up," Jim says. "You know, we don't have to have sex if you don't wanna. Like, ever. Just wanted to make sure you know that."

Valen nods. Jim is so sweet. "Thank you. That means a lot to me." He takes a shuddering breath. "We should try, though. I've never done it with...anyone else. And maybe it'll be different. I don't want, I won't let him steal the possibility from me. Just... Just promise me you won't look at me differently afterwards?"

"Course I won't. I'd never look at you different. Whenever you're ready, we can give it a shot." Jim assumes Valen doesn't mean “try now.” "Your pace."

"Okay," says Valen, who does mean "try now" and hadn't really thought about waiting for some other night. "I think I'm ready. Go, go ahead." He wants to try it, but Jim has given him no way forward. Jim doesn't initiate, he lets Valen set the pace, and Valen is so used to only putting on the brakes, and fending off advances, that he has no idea how to invite them in a way that feels safe. He just lies there after giving Jim permission.

"Oh! Oh, alright." Jim internally kicks himself for being so awkward. "Hey, is there anything you don't want me to do? For me, well, you know I don't like my neck touched."

"Oh, yes," says Valen. "I, I also think I wouldn't like--well, not touched, but, my neck--if you would please not....try to choke me. Or hold me down. Or...Do you have condoms? I-I don't want to get pregnant." He flushes. Is such a thing even possible with a human?

"Holy shit, is that actually possible?" Jim asks. He doesn't think so, but maybe Valen knows something he doesn't. He's the science nerd. Or maybe, Valen just wants him to wear a condom and that's his way of asking. 

“I’m not sure if it’s possible… I just want to be on the safe side.” 

"Oh. Right. I mean, yeah, I got 'em. And I'd never do that other stuff. Holding down and choking are- yeah, big nos for me too. Not fun." He’s had enough of both of those from Kane.

He kisses Valen on the temple. "Be right back." He goes to his room to get a condom.

When Jim leaves the room, Valen lays himself out on the bed, trying to look seductive. Wait, Jim is homosexual, he's not attracted to women. He can't act like a woman, he has to act like a man. But Jim is also going to act like a man, how can they both do that? He starts to take his own shirt off, thinking he might panic if Jim undresses him, but then remembers that will expose his breasts. Jim probably will find them horribly unattractive, thinking them womanly. He'll probably think the same about his labia. But then, how will they have sex if Jim won't find those parts attractive? He flops down on his back, faceup. He's thinking too much. Just let Jim do it. That's what he's always done, just lie there and let his partner do it. He shouldn't be trying to figure it out, that's not how he does it.

Jim returns with a condom in hand. He puts it on the nightstand and lays down next to Valen. "Hey. It's alright, it's not like before. I'm not him. We're doing this for it to be fun for both of us. You can stop anytime you want and nothing bad'll happen." He cups Valen's cheek. "You wanna take my clothes off?"

Valen nods as Jim speaks. "Yeah. It'll be nice. Um, no, you-you take your clothes off. You just, just do what you think seems good, and I'll stop you if I don't like it. Please?"

"Yeah, whatever you wanna do." Jim takes his shirt off. "No more Lyme." he says with a goofy grin. "I've never been with a trans guy before, so, you know, I'm flying half-blind. You gotta let me know what feels good." He's honestly had little experience in general. Kane took him when he was only 19, so a single awkward experience from 6 years ago is all he has to work off of.

He lightly takes the edge of Valen's shirt. "You want me to take your clothes off?"

"Yes," he says. "Go ahead. Um, are you sure you'll find me attractive? With them off?"

"I've never been more sure of anything." Jim says confidently.

He kisses Valen before pulling his shirt over his head. Jim's hands run lovingly up Valen's sides, slipping under his binder to pull that off, too.

Valen lets out a nervous squeak. "Um, l-leave that on, actually? Um, you can take my pants off, though. I, I didn't shave though."

Jim's hands slide back down, leaving the binder in place. "Yeah, me neither." he says lightheartedly.

He goes to take his own off first, lowering them and his boxers in one go. He's half-hard, and though he's excited, he's also more than a little nervous. He's scared he's just gonna do a shit job and Valen won't have a good time and won't want to be with him anymore. His hands go to Valen's waistband next.

my thoughts on imas (2011) so far as a LL fan watching it for the first time!!!! even though nobody asked :)

im REALLY enjoying it so far!! liek more than i thought i would. its certainly different from all the love live shows but it still has a similar charm and some REALLY lovely characters. i just finished ep 12 which was an especially nice ep, at first i wasnt really super interested in miki but this episode def pushed her further up on my ranking, shes so cute and i thought the ep was v sweet. by now i feel like it's only gonna go up from here. the past episodes have been great but there were a couple that just didnt hit the mark 4 me, but i have high hopes for whats next :)

my initial favorite was chihaya but im starting to think shes not quite my type? like i like her dont get me wrong, shes just not the type of char im usually into. my current fav is ritsuko, although she's not in the group im like. 99% sure she ends up joining later which i am VERY excited for because i am super interested in learning more abt her. shes so cute and funny and Uuuurfgjgjdjfd KISS ME (does this mean i can call myself a ritsukoP)

Like, at least with Soveishu, I could at least understand the concept behind why he would fall for Rashta. From his perspective, he felt like Navier had become too formal and mature over the years and part of him was yearning for how she used to be and allegedly her temperament used to be similar to Rashta's, combined with uh seems like he was feeling confined by being nobility and Rashta's innocent ignorance was a breath of fresh air. He was with Navier for a pretty decent amount of time, since childhood, and he was selfishly trying to chase "the old days", so to speak, and up to the most recent chapter it's become clear that his relationship with Rashta was really just to fill the gaps in his relationship with Navier which... could have been fixed with proper communication? There's no doubt in my mind that if he had came at her genuinely about wanting them to be more affectionate and closer with each other that it could have had a positive change. By Navier's own words, she didn't realize how strongly she loved Soveishu until he started to do what he did and broke her heart to the point of sobbing in bed when she can usually stay so stone-faced for her position. Also, another "defense" of Soveishu is that he is under the impression that Navier is infertile and he is not (did he forget HE is the one who ate the abortion cookies?) and that he needed an heir and was trying to concoct a scheme to keep that child and make it his and Navier's, because in their high society, if you can't continue your lineage your position is over and will be taken from you

Also how did the mistress just happen to request a room with a lot of sunlight and the best room was the Duchess' room? She ain't in love with this husband, he's HER TARGET. Also like, if you read between the lines in how the fiancee speaks to the FL, he almost makes it sound like he isn't even sure how the child is his but it must be? So you know what I think? I think Sisley got him drunk and lied about them having sex, and he thinks "oh I was drunk, I have to take responsibility" but, HE'S NOT EVEN BEING HONEST OR GENUINE WITH THE FL ABOUT IT

I really like this FL because she is so capable. He went to war and she took over his position and EXCELLED at it. He had the nerve to tell her not to get involved in the dukedom's affairs when she has LITERALLY been carrying the duke's seal for 6 years? In their culture carrying the seal of a position is the same as holding the authority of that position so literally in name by the process she was unofficially the duke during that time. Can we also talk about what a massive red flag it is that her fiance OBVIOUSLY FEELS THREATENED by her intelligence? I just, I got literally fucking furious st the chapter where he's trying to actually do his fucking job and he's going over the budget for the rainy season and he's all "oh why is it so expensive for this season, my wife is so silly she doesn't know what she's doing, I can fix this right away" BITCH I'M NOT EVEN IN POLITICS AND I KNOW IMMEDIATELY ITS BECAUSE RAIN IS FUCKING HEAVY AND CAN DAMAGE BUILDINGS!! As a final point, if you want more stories where the FL leaves her husband/partner and starts having a better life, I also have suggestions for "Today The Villainess Has Fun Again" which is about a Korean woman who reads a novel and basically says "this FL is stupid, i could do better" and god was like "oh bet? Let's see then" and she gets reincarnated as the insanely wealthy protagonist and starts using her massive wealth to basically do whatever she wants. Something i think is really interesting and I hope they touch on is that it is being heavily implied that the body's original owner is still in there and is observing the FL and may have even let her take over her body in the first place? So I'm curious how that plays out, if FL is going to be sent back home after she's achieved happiness, or if the original protagonist will let the new one live a good life

There is also "Father I Don't Want This Marriage" which is so fucking cute by the way where after the FL Juvelia leaves her fiance Mikhail he starts literally having a manic spiral and losing massive amounts of weight to the point he is sickly because he is just so pathetic, his bitch mom even tries to beg Juvelia to get back together with him because he literally stops eating, but still fuck him because he's extremely manipulative and after Juvelia refuses to take him back he starts trying to scheme and even starts putting people in danger just because he sees the FL as a possession that has been stolen from him.

Oh and they weren't officially together but another story that really burns me up is "Vengeance from a Saintess Full of Wounds". The protagonist Lua is a saintess candidate who can heal people, but she is considered defective because she cannot heal someone without physically taking on their ailment. It is said outright that a saintess is only as powerful as her genuine feelings and empathy and that Lua has above average healing powers because she is so empathetic. Her crush a knight suffers massive wounds that she heals, but it makes her extremely sick while she's healing. She wakes up after some time and finds out her "childhood friend" is one of those "im actually just a fucking psychopath who was emotionally manipulating you into thinking we were friends for kicks, im actually a freak who hates you and was controlling you like a puppet for fun" kind of bitch who LIED and said SHE healed the knight and also told the knight that Lua had been extremely cruel to her and basically made Lua a social outcast when she was already treated extremely poorly. I would also like to get in another dig at the friend and say the story makes it very obvious her friend has lackluster healing powers because she's so extremely two-faced and one reason she "befriended" Lua was to manipulate her into healing people that she couldn't heal herself. Later Lua ia being bullied and finds out that she has another power, the power to transfer all those sicknesses and injuries she had treated in the past to other people, and decides to take revenge, helped by the prince, who they reveal pretty early on is in love with her because she treated his skinned knee when they were both little kids.

OH AND FINALLY! You want a husband who is like cartoonishly dumb and shitty, a new manhwa is "I Want To Become The Emperor So I Need A Divorce". The FL Arnoah is of the imperial family with her abusive brother as the Emperor. He marries her off to a small Duke who treats her like shit and is stupid and incompetent, like he is cartoonisly cringe. Arnoah has to put up with her husband treating her like shit while he runs around with his mistress and he even publicly humiliates her by doing shit like hosting plays where the actors are based off of them and Arnoah is depicted as a raving jealous lunatic compared to the poor Duke and his innocent lover. Arnoah had a clause in her marriage that says whatever titles she receives will also be given to her husband, which becomes a problem when a messenger mage tells her that her brother and also the next successor were both poisoned and that SHE is now in line for the throne. But wait she can't, because then her dumbass husband becomes emperor and we can't let that happen! So she makes a magical contract with the mage that he cannot deliver the obituary for one month, because in that time, she is going to get divorced, and THEN announce the Emperor's death and become Emperor. It's one of those "the first chapter shows her becoming emperor, then reminds time to show how it happened" kind of story telling and my god I cannot wait u til she rubs this idiots nose in the fact that she became Emperor by playing him. Fucking idiot. He ia so fucking stupid he is literally unfuckable. THE FL HATES HIM SO MUCH SHE IS LITERALLY SECRETLY TAKING BIRTH CONTROL LMAO

Oh and sorry. I have a lot of recommendations. Another one, the husband isn't quite in regret mode because the story is fairly new, but another story is A Divorced Evil Lady Bakes Cakes. This FL is so sweet i honestly cannot even remember why the story calls her evil, I think she was just given a bad reputation but didn't even do anything 🥺 she stayed with her fucking loser husband for NINE YEARS NINE FUCKING YEARS and for almost that entire time, he had a mistress who was his true love. Like, I get it, his mistress actually came first and he was forced to marry the FL. But instead of being a man and making his lover a concubine or something and being direct with his wife that their marriage is political, he just treats her like shit? And she's nice to him about it? She kind of ignores the fact he has a mistress at all? And he's just a prick to her, and when they have a divorce and she starts her own bakery, he mocks her? Fuck you buddy, now she's going to hook up with your brother who treats her like a queen and he's probably going to steal your position as next in line, too. Dude this husband is such a douche that HIS FATHER THE EMPEROR literally throws tea in his face and tells him to go get her back because he liked her and thought she was extremely intelligent and capable. HIS OWN POPS IS CALLING HIM A CHODE. You love to see it. Delicioso~

As a reverse "do not read this" recommendation i am hate reading The Mistress Runs Away because this ML is literally fucking vile but he gets the FL in the end after, god I could write paragraphs but basically he's an untrusting dickhead who accuses her of being unfaithful, abandons her, turns out she was pregnant, doesn't even believe the kid is his, treats her like shit, treats the kid like shit, allegedly eventually becomes nicer but it doesn't even matter because he's a fucking asshole and they SHOULDNT be together. I don't even like the FL because she doesn't stand up for herself and let's him bully her son. Why does it seem like most profiles on that mark themselves as "SFW" are clearly not... like, there's an obvious fetish or suggestiveness? Is it just me? Am I the jerk here? I mean...

You don't normally have to mark your things as SFW if they really are, so I've gotten to the point where seeing SFW is a yellow flag... not a red one, but a yellow one, like I could have been lied to (yet again, because it's happened many times) about this.

I don't wanna sound like I hate NSFW or suggestiveness or, heck, even fetish art. Naw, if people wanna draw Sonic inexplicably inflating, go ahead. Don't misunderstand me, please. :P I even like some suggestive stuff.

The problem comes up when people say "Oh, it's totally SFW. They just happen to be half naked, blushing really hard, pulling their maid dress down to cover their null bulge groin with a lock on it while saying 'uwu I hope dis not pewmanent'... but there's no genitals. It's SFW and it's totally normal!" This comes off as someone who's untrustworthy and and trying to intrude on SFW spaces for views or worse, for exhibitionism. There are hundreds of places to express these things. Bringing them I to places that aren't meant for that isn't gonna get you more followers or whatever and even if it does, you look creepy. This can be extra sketchy if minors are present in any fashion, obviously.

If you draw suggestive, fetish or straight NSFW... just own it. Don't act like a fetish isn't just that. It's not cute or funny or cool. You're gonna look like a creeper, especially if minors are present. If it's because you don't want people to judge you for what you make, people will judge you far more for lying about it. At worst, you come off as one of those assholes that love to "corrupt innocence" because it's funny or some crap. Not saying you are, but you come off like that.

I dunno, maybe I'm just venting from being lied to so many times from people saying they won't force a fetish in my face, then give em a week... and I'm looking at blushy diaper foxes again. It makes me think that THEY think I'm stupid or something and won't "catch on". (ie: fetish mining) I have great friends that are into some weird stuff... but they know it's weird and respect people enough to not do that. They don't pretend, y'know?
