honestly, the would you kindly scene is whatever to me*, code yellow is the more interesting violation/betrayal of the body because of how beautifully it escalates the Fontaine reveal/betrayal and shows how ugly some of those ‘locks and keys’ that Tenenbaum mentions are. not only have you been a tool in another man’s hand this entire time, it goes deeper. your body is not your own.

Something that occurred to me this time…

… Is that Eliot deliberately brings Hardison w/ him to confront Moreau the first time. He tells Nate that he and Hardison will do it (don't worry, I also Love Hardison taking the moment to be like 'hey, are you okay?' bc those two usually express themselves through bickering so much that it clearly telegraphs just how off Eliot is being that Hardison is dropping the usual banter to be serious).

Which for one thing, says something about Eliot's confidence in Hardison in general, but also, like… Yes, Parker's probably not the choice for that introduction, it's not her style, but Nate or Sophie could also have played the part. He could have tried to go alone. But he pulls Hardison.

Obviously he's not trying to put Hardison in danger, he makes it quite clear in all other scenarios that he does not tolerate Hardison in danger (visual cues in The Gone Fishin' Job my beloveds), the others are well aware of the fact that he's Done Some Shit and are equally unaware of his connection to Moreau. And to be honest, I can't pinpoint an exact reason why I think he might have done it, chosen Hardison to be the one who finds out first. Maybe he suspected Moreau would underestimate Hardison, making him safer (relatively, if course), then someone like Nate or Sophie. Maybe he thought it would be best to have Hardison's tech skills as back up. Maybe he thought Hardison would roll w/ the punches the best. Maybe he just wanted Hardison there for morale.

I don't know, but it's a moment that didn't really occur to me the first time, but I think is actually quite meaningful in a more emotional way.

at this point i dont think i really like Lilia for who he is and its more of the fact that his relationship with Silver so INTERESTING to me

take your fandom goggles off for a moment and just look at them from an outsider’s point of view. Lilia is far from a perfect father, but Silver talks about him like he’s some literal god who rescued his ass from the pits of hell. most children don’t feel the need to “repay” their parents for raising them with love and care, which is completely valid because that’s the bare minimum of what a parent’s supposed to do.

Lilia has many flaws— he looks down on his schoolmates because he believes that he’s wiser and they’re just weak, fragile little humans. he takes people’s trust for granted and impulsively does whatever he wants without considering others’ feelings, probably because he doesn’t understand them as well as he thinks he does. he acts friendly and outspoken, but never reveals anything truly personal about himself because of the emotional brick wall that even his sons could not tear down.

Silver is the opposite. he views everyone as his equals, sometimes even regarding himself as inferior. he’s always considerate of other people and tends to be more empathetic than he realizes. he’s very quiet but genuine and doesn’t mind talking about his own personal experiences and turmoil.

deep down, i think there’s very little trust between them. they love each other more than the sun and moon, but would rather cut off their left hands than admit they both have issues. Silver doesn’t wish to be a burden, and Lilia refuses to let anyone see beyond his mask of being nothing but an easygoing and wise bat fae.

Being on the renheng/renfeng train for me is so weird and even now I’m still not sure how I sit in regards to the lore as it is rn (especially coming from a game like D2 where resurrection without memories of the past life, responsibility for crimes, burying your loved ones since you outlive them, etc is absolutely a thing that’s explored).

Like culturally I don’t believe vidyadhara can sustain itself without the understanding that you are not who you were. They live forever! They’re a finite population! They do not reproduce, if one dies that’s it! But they also have things like hatching rebirth where they become a new person more or less with no memories of their previous identity (with some exceptions).

Their avg lifespan is 700 years but there’s a whole thing with an npc who molts every few months instead bc she suffers from rapid growth. She forgets who she is every time! What do you do with that?

There’s another npc who clocks the same xianzhou woman every lifetime for 4 lifetimes (up to 2800 years if we go by max). Because she never dies she is 100% aware of who he is and just chooses not to tell him until the MC gets involved this time around. Each time he has no idea he’s going after the same person and is intensely jealous of his previous persona. What do you do with that?

We have our disaster couple here where the conflict right now is bc of previous aggressions. Like what do I do with this? I haven’t been this invested in anything in a long while

People on the opposite side of the political spectrum can be good people too.

It's starting to make me really uncomfortable how divided everything is. People have adopted an "if you're not with us, you're against us" mentality when talking about the other side, and it's so jarring going from online where that's the norm to being in an Uber and your driver is the other side.

Online parties make the other side out to be monsters who want nothing more than to watch the world burn. And while that is absolutely true for some people (on BOTH SIDES), most people are far more sane than that.

Everyone's actions make sense to them. Everyone thinks they're in the right, at least to some degree.

Left-wingers aren't monsters under the bed out to kill and eat kids or something.

Right-wingers aren't shadows on the wall that stalk their prey at night.

But holy fuck the way they talk about each other, you'd think they are.

I'm not saying you gotta switch sides. What I am saying is that you're not helping out anything by "us vs them"ing the other half of the population in your head.

Most offline people either don't think some issues are as prevalent as they are, or just don't see how it applies to them and focus on their own lane. This (the second half) can be a bad thing, absolutely, but it can also be a good thing, too. Mostly it's neutral from what I've personally seen. The first half just means they should do more research, but if someone doesn't see why it matters then convincing them to do so in earnest will be hard.

That doesn't make them bad. Just means they're focused on other things. Just because someone doesn't get it doesn't mean they're the scum of the earth. There's plenty you don't know about, either. How dare you not know about every tiny conflict happening out there right now, y'know?

Love thy neighbor n all that. We're all just trying to live as best as we can at the end of the day.

Meet My Newest F/O! Veneer from Trolls 3!

This sassy and lovable goofball is my best friend/brother! So, he’s a familial/platonic f/o! Both of these guys have a tight hold on me, but I feel closer to Veneer! Hence why he’s gained f/o status 😊. I’m not sure how I feel about Velvet yet, but she might become a platonic/familial f/o too!

Veneer really is a comfort character right now, and I’m just imagining him being so supportive of my relationship with my main romantic f/o Zach Varmitech. I’ve been struggling with my relationship with Zach for a while, so having Veneer to support us is really helping me through some challenges in that area of my selfshipping life. I might even write some scenarios with Veneer, Zach, and my s/i Violet together (maybe throw Velvet into the mix too for some fun)!

You can expect to see quite a few posts about Veneer (and typically Velvet too) on this blog for the foreseeable future! I’m mainly reblogging some fantastic art work and headcanons, but I have a couple headcanons/ other posts I’ve been thinking about for this duo!
