I saw an old friend yesterday, and (while talking about mental health things each of us has gone through), she told me that she has a condition where she gets very, very depressed EVERY MONTH for a few days before her period starts. There's a point in your cycle before your actual period starts, and her mood just...drops. Like a rock.

And then a few days later, her period starts and she's totally back to normal!

Unfortunately, not a lot of doctors are familiar with this - if they learned about it in med school, they haven't seen it enough since then to remember it - but she found a good doctor who treats women's fertility issues who IS familiar with it, which I am SO GLAD she did!

So TLDR: if you're having huge mood swings before/during/after your period, and especially if these are happening CONSISTENTLY, you may have a legitimate medical problem that can be treated, and don't let a lazy or uninformed doctor ignore your problems.

If you are having ANY medical or emotional problem that makes it hard for you to function and enjoy your life, please, PLEASE get help. Find someone who will take you seriously!

It make take a while, or visiting several different doctors or trying several different meds to figure out exactly what is happening and what help you need - but I PROMISE YOU that reaching the point where you're feeling better IS SO WORTH IT.

As someone who's gone through that...at least 3 times with different issues...it takes a while, but IT IS SO WORTH IT.

don't kill yourself. lock in

do not act on negative emotions until at least 2 days have elapsed

I honestly think every leftist who talks about the "revolution" like Christians talk about the rapture needs to spend a year trying to organize their workplace. Anyone who sincerely talks about building a movement so vast and all-encompassing that it overwhelms all existing power structures needs the dose of humility that comes with realizing they can't even build a movement to get people paid better at a badly run AMC Theaters where everyone already hates the manager.

Phil: Probably QSMP? It's close. It's like that- it's between that and SMP Earth, because me and Techno just fckin' ruled with an iron fist. But QSMP definitely inches forward because of how many new friends I made, that I would NEVER have made before QSMP, 'cuz how the fck was I ever gonna learn about Etoiles, Roier, or Cellbit? When- when was that ever happening? Fcking never! [Laughs]

Phil: Without QSMP, would we have met Baghera? No. [Laughs] Would we have met Antoine? No. Like– there's literally SO many fckin' people like, we would NEVER have known or interacted with because of the language barrier.
