PIDW future AU -

SY is born into the modern world, only its time having passed from PIDW canon. Demons still live dude by side with humans, but it's all terribly mundane.

And the population increase means that even though the percentage of cultivators is any the same, there's a lot less spiritual energy to go around so Foundation Establishment is seen as the "peak" and Golden Core Cultivators might as well be gods.

LBH is still the emperor in name, but he's long since fucked off or home into hibernation or something. Few people believe he's both real and still in this world.

SY's family pay more than average respects to the emperor (they're wealthy and would like to stay that way thank you!) but SY personally doesn't see the point. LBH is a dead beat at this point

He's still a recluse NEET, still gets way too invested in weird webnovels, still has a one way feud with Airplane Shooting Towards the sky, whose latest disaster is a fictional retelling of LBH's backstory so bad and tawdry he better hope the emperor is gone for good

But then one day in the capital, the State museum announces the opening of the Beloved exhibit. What is it? Well, recent excavations of one of the many abandoned imperial palaces found a staggering collection of paintings, statues and other artifacts depicting or relating to a single figure, with the only title being the ancient imperial word for beloved.

SY doesn't super care, the emperor had countless wives over the years and while the museum announcement says they don't know the identity of Beloved, it's confirmed not one of the big 3.

A Liu Mingyan exhibit might tempt him, but this is nothing of interest.

Until his phone starts blowing up.

Occasionally he's cameo'd in his little sister's influencer videos and HER feed has blown up because apparently Beloved is a dead ringer for SY.

She begs him to go to the exhibit with her. With their family's money, she's already gotten special permission to film in the exhibit hall! Please!

So SY finds himself standing in front of a larger than life painting of...

No one notices the long-haired demon man sitting on the bench in the middle of the exhibit hall, who had been staring at the painting, switch his gaze to SY.

Thinking about the CFAU and marveling at how much Danny and Jason care for one another. Does anybody else figure out that Danny is going to kill the Joker, or is that knowledge Jason exclusive? I can't see Danny being close enough to any other Batfam member to disclose his plans, but I wonder if he drops hints. They're a family of paranoid detectives. I'd be surprised if they don't figure out Danny has a PURPOSE for being in Gotham at some point. Whether Danny's able to disguise it as wanting to be closer to Jason or not is another burning question.

Its def Red Hood exclusive! You're right in that Danny isn't close enough to disclose his revenge plot to any of the batfam members -- hell, not even Sam and Tucker know his true motives for returning to Gotham, and they're his best friends right after Jason! And Red Hood knows only because Danny accidentally slipped up ;].

I do also think that the Waynes kinda think something might be up with Danny -- at least Dick and/or Bruce might since they're the only ones who actually know him beyond brief mentions of him. Tim knows about him due to his stalking, but doesn't really know him -- and Danny plans to keep a healthy, friendly distance from the family so he can carry out his plans.

It's not that he holds any dislike towards them -- quite the opposite. He appreciates what they do for Gotham and recognizes the hard work that goes into keeping their Rogues Gallery at bay (even if he is bitter about Joker, but there's an obvious reason for that) -- but, well. He knows they're the vigilantes, he doesn't want to risk them sniffing out his murder plot before he can even go through with it.

Luckily for him he can excuse any distance he puts between them as just being busy with life and trying to settle in, and they're not close enough to him anymore to find it suspicious. I do think they figure out he's back in Gotham for a reason, Danny's not going to exactly hide the fact that he's back to find some kind of closure -- but what that closure is?

I think the only person who might suspect something sinister going on would be Bruce, who saw the sinking rage in Danny's eyes at the funeral -- it was part of the reason he didn't tell him who killed Jason (beyond secret identity reasons). But that depends on whether or not Danny reveals some of his hand, and the fact that he was still holding onto that rage (somewhat unwillingly) all this time.

The post just reblogged about Primarchs holding the baby for the first time and Magnus' one is about how he was able to communicate with his kid before it even was born and just formed basic cognitive functions and I am just emotional.

Imagine this man knowing what child needs before mother even feels it. Imagine him already cramming knowledge into his baby's brain before they are even born. Like... Not anything difficult but some basic stuff.

Imagine Magnus waking up in the middle of the night, because he felt his baby inside his wife's belly is feeling anxious or somewhat not calm. Imagine this man putting his huge by comparison hand on his wife's belly to calm the baby down before his wife woke up.

And once baby is born, just like that post entailed, Magnus meets someone he already knew very well, but it's different. Now his child is not something inside his wife, no longer in little space of their own, but now in real world and their life is just starting and they are weak and tired and... Small. But Magnus is as eager to communicate and continue relationship with his child before his wife reminds him the baby is tired, because they just been through hard process of delivery. Understanding this, Magnus just craddles them lovingly and gives his baby a little break. He will have all time in his life to continue that relationship after all.
