I’m just gonna come out and say it… Byler’s best scene has gotta be the rain fight. It just is. It’s arguably Finn and Noah’s best performance for their characters’ dynamic. It has everything. Repression. Instant regret. Groveling. Heartbreak. Devastation.

Me, rewatching the rain fight to feel something that is akin to every single feeling one experiences after watching a masterful feature length romance, only in this case it’s all happening in one single scene:

Im perfectly fine with most of downpour's set up; but the thing I least accept is it's interpretation of slugcat "intelligence" I think the fact that the base game of RW implies that scavengers as a whole might be "evolved" than the player creature to be way more compelling, along with how nicely that pairs with the dev's old statements about how it must feel to be a rat in new york and like, get things on only the most superficial level, but being unable to grasp the complexities of what youre crawling around on. Able to conceptualize it- to think about it- but denied the ability to 'get it'. Gourmand (and even some tidbits about spearmaster) are charming and cute, but they push ultimately for a familiar and safe type of intelligence. They go for early human that communicates in a way we know is "smart" and it, unintentionally or not, sucks both the animalness and alienness out of them. They're the same as scavengers now, and we know exactly what scavengers remind us of with their culture and set up. We can place them, humanize them, no longer are we putting ourselves in the role of a creature in a confusing and complex world but rather a developed thing that has already progressed enough to begin to tame it. The slugcats as a creature that doesn't seem to emote or speak, but shows understanding- a level of which the player can not fully place- works so much more for me. These are things that are clearly intelligent, but we don't really have a good way to measure it past their ability to use basic tools and understand commands given to them when blessed with a fictional boon of understanding. I'm reminded of the ever growing way science in the real world is having to accept the intelligence of things we were so certain must have been unintelligent. Some of things we readily accepted as too undeveloped to even feel pain as creatures -somehow- able to play and learn. Creatures who were we baffled by because everything about what we know says that their brains should be too small and undeveloped to do what they do. That, and I really like the vibe slugcats give off as a creature on the cusp of "higher intelligence" - something that is clearly smart, but maybe not all the way there in the sense people would expect. Something capable of having complex thoughts and motivations and emotions but not yet fully able to process them or make use of it fully. Hard to explain

Hmmm Djinn magic seems very harm and curse oriented, Howlers are beings whose sole purpose is to hunt and scream at you a lot, Djinn are tied to the ghosts and Cursed Realm, Hazza D'ur, despite being only a skeleton, has the eerie ghostly glow Ninjaghosts have, Bansha's purpose is to hunt and scream at you a lot... there's certainly a puzzle to be pieced together but the puzzle is very rough and blurry...

Eddie turns his hand to hold onto hers, propriety be damned even as he hears a gasp or two followed by scandalised whispering. For Hawkins, everything he does is scandalous, even merely existing. Holding the Princess’s hand is but another item on the list.

“Forgive me, my Princess, but I cannot play tonight.”

“But—“

“It is the Knightmærs that you long to hear, and it was always a dream to fill these halls with song of my own, believe me. But it seems I am a fraud, and I need to do right by someone first before I will ever take to my lute again.” After a moment of silence he adds, “If you would like me to leave, I understand. But I will not sing.”

The Princess looks at him for a long time, reading something that might be written behind his eyes, but she keeps a hold of his hand.

“He talked to you, then.”

Eddie’s heart falls as he grasps the meaning of her words. She knows about Lord Harrington and his involuntary ties to Eddie’s renown. Everyone in this room might know, might have heard of his deeds, might have seen his wounds as he returned from the battlefield that seems to follow his every step, while Eddie was out in the world living a lavish life, making a name for himself with the famosity he earned telling another man’s stories of valour and agony as if they were his own.

“He did,” Eddie whispers.

How big are average sized puppets? I am a small person, and nsh looks very big.

I imagine the puppets to be usually human size adjacent with decent variety (Unlike their creators who are a lot larger than the average human, I think they'd be often around 2 meters and taller!!)

The average puppet size range is around 150-180cm. It varies between builds and models, the feet and leg arrangement factor into it as well.

Sliver has the smallest puppet out of all the ones I've drawn LOL. She has a really old puppet model, so it's janky and confusing regarding parts, as well as sizing. Also fun fact, she has the smallest but heaviest puppet.

SOS is 140 cm 4ft 7in

5P is 147 cm 4ft 10in

UI is 153 cm 5ft digitagrade, ~158 cm 5ft 2in unguligrade

LTTM is around 165 cm 5ft 6in with digitagrade, ~170 cm 5ft 7in unguligrade

NSH is around 173 cm 5ft 8in with digi, ~177 cm 5ft 10in unguligrade

SRS is 185 cm 6ft 1in

Note that the default stance pose for the digitagrade/unguligrade ones are always digitagrade, I'm just specifying the other for fun
