btw teeth imperfections should not be used to represent an antagonist. it’s something i’ve noticed in media to the point i have to reel myself in assuming that the character with missing teeth is the bad guy (even though, especially in media aimed at kids or a generally younger audience, they usually are) because i was taught a lot that teeth imperfections = antagonist.

like how a lot of shows i watched before we lost access to mainstream tv would have a shady and morally ill character with a golden tooth. how my mother would pull me closer as a man missing his front teeth walked by, telling me that meant he’s a thug. how my father used the concept of braces like it was something to fear, saying it would ‘ruin my image’.

make protagonists with an overbite because they were just born like that and couldn’t afford to get it fixed. make protagonists that have a replacement tooth because they got it punched out in a fight. make protagonists that have braces, and not just because they’re ‘nerdy’.

make antagonists with perfect teeth. make antagonists that have a dazzling, charismatic grin that they use to manipulate a side-protagonist, or even the main character. make antagonists that have the most blindingly white teeth you’ve ever seen.

something people don't utilize in character design enough is the the teeth. And i'm not talking about vampire fangs or monster teeth, but more about crooked teeth, chipped teeth, missing teeth, yellow teeth, retainers, braces, teeth jewels, grills and stuff of the like. not everyone has a perfect array of teeth

Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I'm sorry for the ways in which toxic masculinity has harmed you. You are a valued member of the aspec community and the queer community as a whole. No ace or aro person is broken and neither are you. I'm sorry if anyone has ever told you otherwise.

As of recent I’ve begun to realize that autism to people nowadays are more of a “quirky thing” and kind of treating it like how some zodiac girlies treat zodiac signs. I’ve seen it to the point where people will say “omg ur so autism” but as soon as said person actually shows symptoms of autism they get all weird about it, like they’re expected to just have fixations and do cute flappy hands or whatever. It is not limited to things you find “quirky”. Autism for a lot of people is also a matter of social struggles, so fucking expect those social struggles.

The idea that uni protesters are "elitist ivy-league rich kids larping as revolutionaries" on Twitter and Reddit and even here is so fucking funny to me if you actually know anything about the student bodies at these unis. Take it from someone who's going to one of the biggest private unis in the US, 80% of the peers I know are either from the suburbs or an apartment somewhere in America, children of immigrants, or here on a student visa. I've heard about one-percenter students, but I've never met one in person. Like, don't get me wrong, the institution as a whole is still very privileged and white. I've talked with friends and classmates about feeling weird or dissonant being here and coming from such a different background. But in my art program, I see BIPOC, disabled, queer, lower-income students and faculty trying to deconstruct and tear that down and make space every day. So to take a cursory glance at a crowd of student protesters in coalitions that are led by BIPOC & 1st/2nd-gen immigrant students and HQ'd in ethnic housings and student organizations and say, "ah. children of the elite." Get real.

To call Jason being compassionate for small scale criminals and not a trigger happy psycho "fanon" or a "headcanon" puts your literacy into question at best and makes you look like an asshole at worst, especially when you put it in the main tag and don't bother to put it in the "Anti Jason Todd" or "Jason Todd critical" or "Jason Todd salt" or even "Jason Todd bashing".
