It’s late one night and Eddie is in his studio live-streaming. He’s playing a song that he remembers the chord progression for but nothing else while his chat tries to figure out what it is.
Steve comes tromping down the stairs like an enthusiastic basketball coach and says, “Get ready, Munson! I’ve got strawberries. I’ve got wine. It’s your lucky night because you’re getting l-“
At this time, he notices the camera and finishes with a less enthused, “-llllunch? Lunch.”
Eddie just stares at him before his face breaks out into the biggest grin. He is thrilled like, “Lunch, huh? Good because I’m famished.”
“Oh my god. Nevermind.”
“No, wait,” Eddie says, scrambling to end the live-stream. “Come back.”

So Eddie wants "Chemistry". That's what he believes in. He wants what he had with Shannon, and yes he loved her to a certain degree, but it cannot be denied their relationship was NOT healthy, likely never was healthy, and was never going to be healthy. Hence why Shannon asked for a divorce, since she seemed to be the only one at the time who could recognize their relationship for what it was.
And Eddie himself fell into this trap when Shannon came back, feeling this "chemistry" with her that resulted in them falling into bed together multiple times, but never actually fixing or growing their personal relationship. Never mending their trust issues. It's just funny that Eddie was saying he wanted what he had with Shannon, when even he admits that it wasn't a healthy relationship. I'm not saying he's not allowed to look back on his relationship with her fondly, but I truly can't help but feel like he looks back on his ROMANTIC relationship with her with rose-colored glasses.
Now back to Chemistry. It's kind of a nebulous phrase, doesn't really have a clear meaning. To me, chemistry is often something that comes in the early stages of a relationship. Kind of like infatuation, or butterflies or "magic" like Eddie says (let's be fucking real Eddie and Shannon were not magic).
I'll bring it back to this chart:
Any way you look at it, it comes out like this.
Eddie:
Shannon- highly emotional, idealistic, weakened by separation, seeking to find happiness, in love with "emotion".
Ana- sudden, idealistic, based on a feeling, seeking to find happiness, focusing on external looks (ie. she's exact what I should want), seeking to get
Marisol- sudden, idealistic, based on a feeling, seeking to find happiness, seeking to get
Buck:
Abby- highly emotional, idealistic, weakened by separation, seeking to find happiness, focusing on external looks, in love with "emotion"
Ali- sudden, idealistic, weakened by separation, seeking to get
Taylor- highly emotional, based on a feeling, seeking to find happiness, focusing on external looks, seeking to get
Natalia- literally the entire "infatuation" column.
Now Buck and Eddie? I could write a dissertation on how they fit into literally every single point listed in the "love" column.

Capt Nemo: Imma tell you how my ship works and how I stay alive underwater in excruciating detail
Prof. Aronnax: Oh hell yeah gimme all that science
Nemo: And I'll tell you exactly how I managed to build this ship without anyone finding out
Aronnax: I believe every word of this increasingly ridiculous story
Nemo: Now it's time for my diatribe about how I hate land and will remain underwater forever
Aronnax: Go off, queen
Nemo: Aaaand that's all you need to know I guess
Aronnax: Cool cool cool. I definitely don't need to know who your crew is, where they came from, how many there are, or how you managed to convince ~100 people to give up life on land and just live underwater for the rest of their lives
Nemo: Yeah lol why would you care they're not like PEOPLE
Arronax: lololol totes bestie
Nemo: oh btw we don't have a doctor
