sometimes i feel like people who hate taub and not wilson have like underlying antisemitism, theure both jewish but one is more clearly ethnically jewish and ones more conventionally attractive, wilson is arguably one of the WORST characters (morally) in this entire show and no ones ready for that conversation, im sick of the arguement “well taubs a father” and hes there for the kids?? and “taubs entire personality is cheating” well i dont see him cheating with DYING patients💔💔
wilsons one of my favorite characters in the show but COME ON everyone in this fandom is a HYPOCRITE theres so many examples of hating one but not the other who did the same thing
#and they don't even realize Taub's hotter anyway 💅#PLUS taub only destroyed one marriage not three#I will die defending my wretched little man#Taub gang rise up

Autistic Wally
My interpretation of his character through the eyes of an autistic person.
I would like to talk about how strongly and why I feel that Wally Jabrowski is or could be an autistic character.
Wally is generally a secondplan character, but his behavior MAY (may but does not have to) show signs of being on the spectrum (at least that's how I see it as an autistic person).
! IMPORTANT !
Please view this as my personal interpretation of Wally’s character through my eyes as an autistic person. My observations are based on my knowledge of autism and my own experiences as someone diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. Keep in mind that these are mainly my experiences, and every person on the spectrum may experience things differently.
If you see any mistakes in how I describe my experiences or use terms like hyperfixation, please tell me so I can fix them.
Enjoy!
WALLY'S HYPERFIXATION
Wally has a vast knowledge of magical objects and shows a keen interest in the subject. There are many scenes with Wally where he tells Joe Miller about what the objects are, the theories behind their creation, and the magical functions of each one.
People on the spectrum experience something similar, which is called hyperfixation. It is a way of focusing on a chosen topic, where you can spend hours or even days exploring the details of your passion, knowing much more about it than the average person. Hyperfixation can have both positive and negative effects — from my experience, the negative ones could include neglecting and forgetting responsibilities, social problems and the resulting feeling of being different/alien or difficulty in making contacts.
Admittedly, Wally does not seem to have such an emotional and intense approach to the subject as, for example, I do in the case of the roles of Peter Jacobson (about what I have a lot of knowledge), House MD, Sherlock, or The Hobbit, but I think it could be interpreted that way. Anyway, hyperfixation and its intensity are very individual issues — autism is a spectrum, after all, and it does not look the same for everyone.
BUS TICKET IN STRESSFUL SITUATION
Wally often reacts impulsively when he feels threatened, ridiculed, or when a situation deviates from his expectations. Most often, he then "removes" the threat by sending the person to hell (New Mexico). Examples include scenes showing how he sent a nurse from the hospital with a Magic Ticket after they had an argument; one of the cowboys who most likely criticized him, and he then lectured the rest of the cowboys that they should not criticize or be rude to others; teenage girl from a bowling alley who, according to him, were making fun of him and distracting him during the game. In moments of immediate danger, he often steps away or hides behind someone (in this case, it was Joe Miller), avoiding confrontation.
People on the spectrum often feel severe discomfort in social situations that go beyond their comfort zone. This can lead to a fight-or-run response, where the priority is to quickly restore a sense of security. For me, this usually manifests itself as stepping away, sudden frustration, or an attempt to find a way to calm myself or try to concentrate myself on something different. Such reactions are sometimes perceived by those around me as exaggerated, but they result from a real sense of danger or sensory overload.
In stressful situations, Wally often simply "removes" the problem with a Bus Ticket. This can be seen as his way of coping with what is uncomfortable and overwhelming for him – a kind of avoidance of stimuli or search for a safe point, as people on the spectrum do. Except that for him, it's more "extreme" than in real life :')
SOCIAL ANXIETY & CHALLENGES
Wally often has difficulty in interacting with people. He is also shy and fearful. This is evident in his interactions with other characters, where one could say that he is behaving in a strange way, he often lets Joe speak for him, avoids certain places, and is often stressed and afraid. Wally also leads an isolated life — he has no friends, and the only close relationship we are shown is with Joe Miller. In the café scene, he even admits that he sometimes forgets what it's like to be "human," which shows his distance from the social world. He also avoids certain places that makes him feel overwhelmed for some reason (An example is the scene where he and Joe are going to the bar but Wally is afraid because he was there before and he doesn't like this place).
People on the spectrum often experience something similar. They may feel overwhelmed in social interactions or we have problems in living in society in general. We often prefer smaller groups, close relationships, places we feel comfortable in, or living in isolation, which helps us maintain a sense of security and control (which doesn't always mean that we like being alone ;] )
Wally does not show emotional tension or social misunderstanding to the same extent as some people on the spectrum, but his behavior can be interpreted in this way. Also, as I mentioned earlier when talking about hyperfixation, this is a very individual matter, because autism is a spectrum and it looks different in each person.
DIFFICULTIES WITH SOCIAL SKILL & INTERACTIONS
There is a scene in first episode i think (I watch it as three 87-minute films), Literally after Joe meets Wally in the hospital, he takes him to a restaurant. And there is this conversation i want to point out:
Joe: What were you in the hospital for?
Wally: Hemorrhoids. Laser surgery.
What's it to you, detective?
Joe: My daughter's here for a psyche evaluation.
Joe: Her mother's suing for custody after three years, and she'll probably win, thanks for asking.
Wally: Oh, sorry.
I mean, sorry.
You forget to be human sometimes.
Wally says "What's it to you, detective" in a rather sarcastic manner. The answer is specific and could be seen as malicious. He later said sorry, which may suggest that Wally has difficulty reading other people's feelings and expressing his own in the way that is usually expected in social interactions.
People on the spectrum often experience similar difficulties. They may have trouble recognizing emotions in others, expressing their own in a "socially expected" way or have difficulty understanding social norms. For example, I often have trouble reading sarcasm, if I can't detect it from the tone of voice, I often don't know how to behave in a given situation or when certain things should not be said to strangers, which is related to my sometimes "brutal" honesty. This does not mean, however, that I am rude or unempathetic. Therefore, the reactions of people on the spectrum can often be perceived as strange or inappropriate to the situation they are in, even though they feel completely normal and natural to them.
That's all. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy! If you have any thoughts, feel free to share them in comments. I would love to read them :)
Have a good day/night!
#Interesting read!#Can definitely see Wally somewhere on the spectrum#Also in the bowling alley scene he was SO getting geared up to start infodumping about bowling but Joe cut him off#wally jabrowski

YESSS WALLYYYY!! 😭❤️🔥
Wally is the most specialest angel muffin (a scraggly middle aged weirdo) who will be your friend as long as you show yourself to be kind and genuine and worthy of his trust. If not... hell for you!
I think the way someone treats Wally (a vaguely losery but ultimately harmless little freak) is a good measure of who they are as a person. People could normally bully him and get away with it. And they do bully him. Which is why he makes it his crusade to punish everyone who slights him, especially by being mean or mocking. Sure, maybe he overuses his power. But in a world that is cruel to people like him, maybe he can serve a bit of justice for the little guy.
I'm literally crying when people don't understand how much I love Wally Jabrowski. He is a fucking sassy antisocial outsider that could send you to hell (new mexico) if u will piss him off, but if he trust you, then you can rely on him when you'd need help.
@taub-truther i hope you understand me 😔😔😔🙏🏻🙏🏻

taxes headcanons cause why the fuck not
house: hires someone to do them for him. it's a prostitute. she majored in finance and does his taxes better than anyone else has ever done them. he uses her every year after that + always tips (for the taxes. not sex. get your mind out of the gutter.)
wilson: says he's going to do them himself every year, then realizes how much of a timesink it's going to be. by the end of january he always ends up going back to the same tax accountant he always uses
cuddy: has a tax accountant to do them for her, and they are filed and flawless by the second week of january.
cameron: does her own taxes. keeps all of her receipts and handwritten records of her major expenses, monthly payments, and any donations she makes. has her taxes submitted every year by march 1st.
foreman: also does his own taxes. his records aren't quite as overly detailed as cameron's, but he's got the process down to a science at this point and can do his taxes in an afternoon. he also does them early, of course.
chase: hires a tax expert and pays them well, and has done this since the first year he had to pay american taxes. he has to deal with both US taxes and australian taxes, and he can't be fucked to do all that work himself and still potentially make a mistake.
taub: has a tax accountant do them for him but takes a while to get the accountant some of the paperwork they need irt his plastic surgery practice. the poor accountant is left scrambling on a few things and the taxes get submitted at the last minute
thirteen: kutner has a running bet with taub that thirteen doesn't even pay taxes. taub points out that if that were the case, thirteen would be in prison. the truth is that her college roommate from sarah lawrence ended up going into finance, so she does thirteen's taxes for her at a steep discount (sometimes in return for under the table "medical" marijuana)
kutner: uses turbotax. everyone thinks he'd have to file an extension, but he has never once done so. he HAS however sprinted into the post office at 4:58 pm on the deadline day and begged them to postmark his envelope for that day even if it's going to be on tomorrow's mail truck.

is there a universe where taub fucks amber?
In my heart there is absolutely a universe where Amber gets bored and hate-fucks Taub (early on in the competition I would think, going off their hate-flirting). They'd just be this meme:

He would never be the same and she would absolutely hold it over his head to blackmail him whenever it was expedient. She'd forget about him completely after a while (maybe because Wilson comes along) and Taub would be lowkey losing his mind over her, but for obvious reasons can't say a single word about it.
It would also be super funny if Taub got eliminated from the competition because of this in some way. Once again his dick ruins his life.

I need to know someone's opinion on the Taub babies situation because it makes me go insane every time i think about it. Was there something to take away from it that I missed, maybe? I know you post more about the og ducklings, but… in case there are any thoughts to be shared…
I truly don't think it's all that deep, although I guess that depends on what part of the plot you are referring to.
On the one hand, Taub -- and I like him a lot -- is very much a Side Character. He isn't that deep; he isn't given the same levels of pathos and focus as others; he is comic relief. Taub is also fairly upfront about this: in Epic Fail he largely sums up his own purpose on the show as someone here because he likes House and enjoys working for House, but not someone all that caught up in the rest of the insanity. He and House are neither enemies or friends; he alone does not struggle with Proper Workplace Boundaries; this is a job. (Not for nothing does he also leave when Chase takes over.)
This isn't to say Taub has no depth or pathos. He's an interesting guy! He's confident and slick, but good-natured and without an ego; he befriends his much younger coworkers without trying to pretend at superiority, he clearly cares. One of my favorite tiny moments of him is in S6, reaching out to post-divorce Chase and inviting him to dinner. Chase (correctly) calls him out on their complete lack of relationship and Taub's obvious pity; Taub completely owns it. They mention Kutner. The message is clear: Taub doesn't know Chase, but doesn't want to let someone else fall by the wayside. He cares.
But Taub also is someone who is never... quite... happy. He is an adrenaline junkie of sorts. He takes risks, he is always looking for a high -- not drugs, but cheating. Sports cars. Risky investments, money, bad decisions. After leaving his practice, he could have taken any number of surgical jobs (that weren't in violation of his non-compete -- but there's tons of plastic surgeon jobs outside of breast implants!): instead he chose to restart his career and work for a doctor as famously insane as House. Even what we know of Taub's past -- he started his career working in Asia, in poor communities, helping underprivileged children. That's altruistic and wonderful, but he could have done that in America, right? He chose the more adventurous option. He chose the less "safe" path. He's kind of an addict. He needs the rush. He talks openly about loving the risks and high and feeling of it. I don't even think it's about the sex as much as the danger of cheating, you know? Taub himself struggles with the idea of his marriage becoming open, of having Rachel's blessing to cheat. It's the danger he enjoys. The challenge.
So on the one hand: the baby plot is a joke. Taub is a less important character in the show's hierarchy, so he can be given these sillier plots as a "break" from the more serious events around him. On the other hand, Taub is someone always chasing a challenge and who always wants more than he has. It's a bit of a cliche, but you can make a case that fatherhood -- that level of purpose and need -- might be something he's craved and fills that gap. Or simply the challenges that come of this insanely complex parentage situation, not merely needing to manage his children and ex-wife but also her partner, his ex-girlfriend, and her partners going forward. It's a lot, and it isn't easy, and that's kind of the zone where Taub thrives, you know?
#Oh I can get behind this reading!#Pondering the whole challenge thing.. maybe Taub gets bored easily and/or maybe he wants to shake off feelings of mediocrity or banality#Externalizing his sense of contentment? Easing some inner restlessness? Much to consider#chris taub#character analysis
