I think it’s important to note that Bellatrix and Sirius were so similar (in appearance, temperament etc) that even Harry who despised Bellatrix and had met Andromeda and Narcissa but kept noting the resemblances between them (Sirius and Bellatrix) specifically. I'm giving you permission to let go of that opinion. the problem in Romeo and Juliet isn't the young love story, it's the stupid family rivalry that gets both heirs killed. that's what it's about. it's about closed mindedness and pettiness leading to tragic consequences. these adults hated each other so much, were so determined to hate each other, that they let their children die over it. the love story is romantic and dramatic, but hating the play because 'some dumb teens die bc they think they're in love' isn't it. they are in love. teens can be in love and it can feel like the most important thing in the world. and they shouldn't have to die bc of their families' bullshit.

Now Bruce was not expecting to reincarnate upon his death. At least he thinks he died, he’s pretty sure he did. There wasn’t any other reason for him to be a well, literal baby. Around two he thinks, which fits well with the fact that it’s around that time that babies start forming memory recall, if he, well, remembered correctly. 

But while he knew about reincarnation thanks to Shayera and Carter, he’d never exactly given it much thought towards himself. Because seriously, what were the chances of such a thing as him being given another chance? 

So he was quite surprised at his situation, experimentally opening and closing pudgy hands that looked well, just a tiny bit off. He’d never been that pale before, he thinks, even back when he never went outside like, ever. 

He turned his gaze towards the mobile above him with a sort of idle curiosity- a mixture of bats (ha) and other trinkets he wasn’t familiar with. It also caused him to get his first good look at his parent, asleep on a rocking chair right next to the crib. 

Huh. They had the same pale skin he did, albeit in the light it looked like it was slightly tinted blue, and while their hair was white they didn’t exactly look old. They looked surprisingly well rested for raising a toddler too, unless they had a nanny or something similar… He rolled over, managing to very shakily push himself to his feet with the help of the crib. 

Why was standing so hard as a toddler? And why did he have his memories of everything except how he had died anyway? 

His head whipped up from where they were staring at his feet when he heard a snort, finding his parent awake and standing. Somehow silently enough that he hadn’t noticed- or he was that easily distracted by the unfamiliar giddiness bursting in his chest. 

“Morning little bat,” his parent easily picked him up and held him while he inwardly sighed at the nickname. Of course his bat motif would follow him into this life. A low rumbling almost caused him to jump, his body relaxing before he could fully register the sound. The… purring? 

Oh.

Norm may have been out of the loop, initially. But he picks up on the facts very quickly. Maybe a bit too quickly.

No Fairy have ever asked Timmy about his experiences when he was human. Nor did any Fairy ask him how it was like to become a Fairy. Norm's the first being in 200 years to do it and Timmy's.

Uncomfortable.

In one conversation, they learned more about each other than Timmy liked. With one response, Norm has learned more about Timmy's current state than Timmy realized he'd given. More so, Norm knows more about Timmy's fate than Timmy does himself.

like. that’s rare, right? no other media i’ve encountered is immune to it. everything else eventually gets mocking and cynical of its own concept. fucking disney can’t make a princess movie without pointing out how stupid true love is. star trek had a whole reboot movie trilogy about rejecting the slower, philosophical roots of the show for cooler, edgy action movies (<- im allowed to say this because i like the aos movies but they Are a different beast from the rest of trek.) and yet doctor who keeps trucking along, whimsical as ever, looking you in the eyes and saying, there is an alien in a blue police box who comes to save the day and for the next forty minutes, you’re gonna believe that. it’s not that the show hasn’t changed or adapted with the times, it’s that the change builds on what’s there rather than looking at it disdainfully, oh how stupid those old things were, how great we are now in comparison. it’s refreshing!
