Ten years later, I'm still in awe of what the BBC show Merlin managed to pull off. It's a silly show. It's cheesy, over the top fantasy full of dumb gags and physical comedy. It's the most compelling tragedy I've ever experienced

#how?? how did they do that???#there's no dramatic tone shift it never feels like you've started watching a different show #but somehow very slowly the momentum changes and the safe monster of the week formula fades away #and you realise that all those times of it always having been alright by the end of the episode #were building like an avalanche to ensure an ending where no one wins and nothing is saved #and you know exactly how it happened #and you realise that all those sacrifices made for the promise of a brighter future have turned them into people incapable of creating it #and we watched it happen #bbc merlin

Because it is.#And let me just say. I think it is the perfect adaptation. Somehow this film manages to be one of the best dystopia satires out there #While also being a genuine critique of capitalism and burocracy.#Plus the practical effects and set design were outstanding.#The 'romance' in this movie was definitely also a satire.#It is unbelievably wacky. I'm dead serious when I say this comic is beat for beat something that happens in the film #Guy who told this women *nothing* about the peril she's in form the government tells her he (legally) killed her.#She responds by saying “Care for a little necrophilia?” with NO ROMANTIC LEAD UP.#THE MUSIC SWELLS. HE TEARS OFF HIS JACKET AND DIVES INTO THE BED. SCENE END.#Jill Leyton has incredible range as a hot butch and hot femme. Was the line bizarre? Yes. She can pull it off though.#We paused and watched it back a few times. I wasn't intending to make a crossover this obscure but honestly...#It's...it's too good of a fit to pass up. Really driving me a little crazy that people are talking about the Iskall situation as some moral failing of Hermitcraft as a whole. "I thought hermitcraft was safe from controversy" guys... bad people exist everywhere

We don't know what happened, but we can assume it was Very Serious given the removal of him from the Imp and Skizz podcast. It's clear the members are distancing themselves. The hermits are handling this in probably the best way possible, do not act like hermitcraft as a whole is at fault for whatever happened.

guys. guys. when caitlyn hovered her hand over that bandage on vi’s ribs, she was clearly going to apologize! and vi knew that and accepted the apology before caitlyn said anything out loud — there is so much depth in the body language and facial expressions in this show and i feel like a lot of people are shooting themselves in the foot by not seeing those things as being just as valid here as verbal cues. (or they just want to find something to be mad at?)

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.

One of the funniest parts about the whole “Leo not giving Draxum any grace” idea is that Draxum is one of the ONLY notable older men in the show that Leo isn’t willing to give a proper second chance to OR really hear out in the first place.
