maybe it's because i mostly feel annoyed at jk now, but i find him doing a wlive naked...cringe and over the top. for sure others enjoyed it and drooled after him, but i saw the clips and i was like 'yeah go all out to support your cool fratboy image'. yeah hes just chilling in his bed, but he's been doing those kinds of thirst-trap lives even before seven was released, and i believe he's doing that because of his image rebranding. drinking and passing gas while on live, sleeping with a candle lit (very irresponsible); sleeping in his bed but in y/n pov. those are intended for him to look 'cool' and like a cant-be-bothered, seductive man (uhm, eww). it's the same with the recent wlive, and he's going all out. i feel like he's trying too hard.

The live is also interesting because he gets to do two things at once: to continue the y/n agenda and to show how tight his bond with jimin still is (congrats jikook shippers, y'all have a new reason to use to ignore everything else). dont get me wrong jimin and jk have always had the silly and flirty dynamic, which is why they have die-hard shippers in the first place. we've seen it and they are just showing it there.

what makes me raise my eyebrows though is the timing. those hashtags have been trending in twt before that wlive and him going on live later on is a bit sus. even if he doesn't look at the trends, there are people (staff, friends, members) who could've informed him abt it, which may have prompted him to go live. it's not impossible at all. it could distract people and pacify things a little bit, and i guess it's working.

make it what you will but JK's actions are more sus now considering all that's happened. i mean what's the better way to pacify people? please them and show that everything is fine.

jimin responding to him on live doesn't really surprise me. it could be that he has time so he commented. it's not out of character for him, but may also be a way, again, to pacify things. i mean those tags are about him and it's his fans (& some armys) trending it after all. maybe he wants to do something about it. im not blaming jimin at all, i honestly think it's smart.

you can also look at this in a fanservice aspect (for both of them) because admit it or not, it has always been there. BTS doesn't necessarily need to do it because they're famous now and truly have good bonds, but they still engage in it from time to time to pacify fans and maintain their image. jikook interacting in the live can be them genuinely being good friends while also using the chance to ease things a little bit. it doesn't mean that they're being forced to do things though, but that they're doing it on their accord to at least control the situation.

unfortunately, the live can only distract people for so long. questions and outrage will continue because of the company's continuous inaction and shady behavior toward jimin. it won't ever be enough.

sorry for the long ask, but given all that has happened, i can't avoid second-guessing everything that jk does now. i can't stop speculating on some things.

i can be wrong about some things of course, but the live did not squash my displeasure for the company and jk's involvement in everything. he and jimin may be fine with each other, but that does not excuse all that has been happening.

And I still very much dislike jungkook and think he's part of the reason for jimin's sabotage. That had happened and we can talk about it.

But that doesn't mean we have to be negative about him all the time. We can have fun if he's doing something funny.

But this live..... Idk it just didn't seem like some practiced skit to me.

It was so random. Didn't look planned at all.

Yeah there could be a high chance that he came live to distract people or make the situation better. Like after the festa dinner when they talked about hiatus and then jk came on live to settle things down. But that was a big thing.

This on the other hand is hard for me to believe that he came live for distract people. It's not out of character for jungkook to come live at random times like this. So I didn't really think much of it.

I believe it's looking too deep into things. Not everything has to be related to the company politics you know. To me it looks like he just randomly came live like he always does and jimin commented on it because he felt like it.

Not all of their moves has to be so calculated. Nobody thinks THAT much.

Assuming that jungkook or anyone has such calculated thoughts like that before doing the most mundane thing is not realistic to me.

Also for the shirtless thing. Yeah it could be cringe. I've said this before he's trying too hard to be cool. But then again it's none of our business. It's his body at the end of the day. He can show it off if he wants to.

For people who are attracted to him, it's like heaven right now. People who are not attracted to him just don't care.

I think we shouldn't say stuff like that. It's like people telling girls to wear decent clothing because if they wear short clothes then they're attention seeker and I'm strongly against it. I won't be a hypocrite and say the same thing to a man because I would be so pissed if some man said that to me.

It can be agreed that he's trying to be cool but it's not harming anyone so idc at least he's not talking shit like he was doing recently. So that's progress ig.

this is the post i based my hermitcraft beginnings with, but i didn't actually use it much.

that said, i wanted to give advice about how i actually took it, but it is... long, sorry, um.. but i hope it helps! its just me detailing how i found out who i enjoy watching, and while i admit i've only been into hermitcraft for a few months, i know this exact feeling anon and its so recent that i know what my steps to get into it were :P

TLDR;

pick someone (i did grian), start a random season (i did 9), and if someone else in the video catches your attention, give their videos a visit!

you can seek out a relatively contained side series (3rdlife, streams), or fan content (fanart, clips), to see what projects, people, or characters intrigue you the most. check out the hermitcraft content from there.

don't forget about hermitcraft recap to help you learn about new people either, and the official hermitcraft website lets you see who all is involved and what they're uploading.

dont overwhelm yourself with people to watch, treat everything like a sample platter until you know what you like and want to experiment with what you're curious about

have fun and be yourself 👍

so! i consider myself new to hermitcraft personally, but its been a good few months with some experimentation, and what ive been doing is this;

i have OCD, and a really specific and severe issue where i cannot do ANYTHING that isn't in chronological order. so i didnt start where season 9 was when i got into it, i just picked up from the beginning and started binging it. i find this kind of nice, because then you aren't thrown into the middle of a project or an arc you don't really have the context for. also, at the beginning of the season, everyones kinda crammed together in starter bases, and theirs first session shenanigans that help introduce you to hermits other than the one you're watching.

depending on if you want to start now, or with the new season, this may or may not be something you even needed to hear advice for, but i figured it would be good to say anyway.

i started with grians videos, because i was told when i first started that he does events, and he socializes, and he builds, so he's pretty well rounded. as i watched grians videos, i got interested in his friends! i started watching their videos, and so the cycle repeats.

some hermits don't socialize near as much. that's fine, too, but then this method doesn't work as well. i enjoy scar and mumbo for different reasons than i enjoy grian, and the way i watch their videos is so different from the way that i watch bdubs.

if you do like grian and friends, the life series also contains a few hermits, which is how i properly got interested in scar's videos and now hes my the guy ever. the life series is nice because its 10 episodes a series tops (not even that) and because of the amount of scheming that goes on you kind of naturally want to see other perspectives, so you end up gravitating towards who interests you.

the other mod of this blog really likes geminitay, and im pretty sure they got into gem from the life series! ive personally also taken an interest in cleo from it too :P the only problem with this advice is that not all the participants are hermits, so it might not help with this hermitcraft quest.

if you arent into those folks, thats so real. thats just been my experience, but theres a lot of other ways to go about it that i feel like follow a similar method of experimentation and exploration. idk what you like, and idk how each of the hermits play, or their humor styles, but i figure a good way to figure it out is through watching clips.

a lot of the funny or weird guys get clipped and posted, so like, i can assume with a lot of faith that tibby here likes cubfan, lol. if you like the cub clips, or the cub fan content, 100% poke to see if cub would be your jam. try this method with others; i plan to with zed in the new season.

theres the hermitcraft recap channel and i saw it recommended to newbies? i would honestly take the idea of "this person seems interesting" from my grian watching and apply it to those too, tbh. i havent personally tested it, but im sure it would work.

a lot of my tips work mostly for social hermits, but that's also the type of content that i like watching. if you aren't into socializing and shenanigans, it probably wouldnt hurt to just open the hermitcraft website and click on whatever you see. if it doesn't interest you, then you can try something new. or, you can use what you know you don't like, to narrow down what you might.

don't try to push through a video style or some humor you aren't as interested in just because. i think in the beginning of getting into something like hermitcraft, which is so big and can be so overwhelming, giving yourself a solid footing in what you really like watching is more important than trying to have a diverse experience or a wide range of people to watch.

i dont really like pearls videos, but i enjoy her streams. i feel this same way about impulse. but i only explore that much because i know that if im not into it, i have other stuff that i am into to fall back on, and i dont feel left behind in the fan community just because someone doesn't fit my niche.

ill also say that i have listed a LOT of hermits that i watch. ... you can just watch one guy. i only watched grian i think for a solid two, two and a half months. i also consume a lot of video content, because that's just what i like to do, so i like having a large variety to pick from. you dont need that. you can subsist off your one little guy in your own little corner of the internet and be totally fine.

all that said, i hope this was of any sort of value, and totally see what everyone says about their favorite hermits in the replies, to see if that helps you find a starting place.

where do I start if I want to get into hermitcraft? You post about it a lot and it's made me curious about what it is

oh gosh, that’s a tricky one because there’s a lot of seasons and a lot of different perspectives to watch with their own video styles. Honestly you asked at a good time, since the newest season is right around the corner! It depends on what kind of content you vibe with, though. There’s a lot of creators on hermitcraft with their own unique styles, some are builders, some are redstoners, some are very chill and laid back while others are very high energy and fast paced.

honestly if anyone would like to pitch their favorite hermit & why anon should watch them in the replies i’d greatly appreciate it (my carpal tunnel has been acting up these past few days and i dont think i can write my goodtimeswithscar and cubfan essays right now hahah but those are my reccomendations)

how do killjoys treat raygun burns? i genuinely have no idea and i know you've already gone pretty in-depth with raygun wounds in general but i was curious about the treatment

cw: we’re gonna be talking about medical stuff and injuries in here. i’m not gonna include any graphic pictures and also i’m gonna warn anyone who wants to do further research that some of the images that’ll come up are gonna be pretty damn graphic. tread carefully!

SO i’m gonna be going off this ask here, and running with the assumption that raygun burns probably both bleed and burn. thats important since thats gonna affect how youd do treatment. it also means that raygun injuries are messy. most burn injuries in the real world can cauterize - theyre unique in that the site of injury is usually sterile at the time of injury. however, since the rayguns in this world are capable of making someone bleed (rather a lot too, if the comics are any indication), that means that these wounds can get pretty gnarly.

the important thing about how rayguns in danger days seem to work is that they are not pure laser bolts! if they were, they’d be able to pass through something and cauterize it pretty neatly, like a lightsaber. the raygun blasts have an obvious physical component - they can physically knock someone back, for example, and we see sparks shower when people are shot in the music videos. so rayguns in danger days have an apparent kinetic component to them: you are basically applying heat to the human body at high velocity.

ONCE AGAIN, THIS GOT LONG. THE REST IS UNDER A CUT. mind the content warnings above!!

other than that, we’re not sure what specifically the makeup of the lasers like...are. electromagnetic radiation? plasma? heat? electricity? i doubt its pure electricity since that would be more consistently fatal, but it is some kind of bolt that has both heat and velocity on its side to be sure, but thats the extent of what we know.

now logically, this would actually cause the human body to like. explode. cause thats what happens when you apply that much heat to something made of mostly water. getting hit with a bolt of something that hot would cause all that water to boil off abruptly and then the steam would fucking parboil you. not a fun way to go though it is funny that the steam would be the thing that causes the most damage. so yeah actually a very gory kind of injury.

obviously thats not what happens in danger days, since no one to my knowledge Fucking Explodes when theyre hit with a laser bolt. but lasers from rayguns can make blood FOUNTAIN OUT OF A DUDE’S GUT in the comics so obviously they can do a hell of a lot of damage (the mvs are way less explicit but they also werent allowed to like, swear in the mvs and had to tone down some of the violence and shit so im taking the comics canon as the more “realistic” one wrt rayguns here) the science here is kinda...eh, cause laser bolts don’t appear to be a penetrating injury but rather a messy “burn and blister” kind of injury that are nonetheless capable of making someone eat it pretty quick.

but this is danger days and this is kinda where science goes to die so here is how i view laser injuries in the universe:

danger days laser bolts have a kinetic or explosive quality to them.

what this means is that the injury is twofold: first, the heat damages the external layer of skin. i’d hazard that we’re talking second-to-third degree burn levels of injury on immediate contact. second, the kinetic energy released at that velocity and force generates an explosive impact that does damage to surrounding tissue.

what’s left is an injury that both burns and bleeds. my take on it is that the bolt impact creates the open wound, while the heat intensifies that damage and disseminates it. you need a temp of maybe 300ºF and higher to cauterize a wound so lasers would have to burn at least a little bit lower than that since the injuries do consistently bleed. but since the human body is pretty sensitive to high temperatures that works out in our favor seeing as if you heat things too much, again, the risk is that we would Fucking Explode.

lots of burn injuries, especially third degree and higher, tend to bleed. since thats the closest thing i have to compare to a laser wound in danger days, thats going to be my basis here.

treating a raygun injury is likely to resemble burn treatment in a lot of ways

burn treatment stuff varies a lot and i will spare you guys from googling this and going “oh thank you google images thank you for showing me what a graphic third degree burn looks like i am so glad that i know this and that this is in my search history and keeps popping up in my search history im SO GLAD.”

burn injuries go by degrees. first degree is like mild sunburn basically, and only affects the epidermis or external layer of skin. second degree affects the top and middle layers of skin and can leave blisters. third degree burns go all the way to the subcutaneous fat layer and can leave the skin white and charred. fourth degree burns can go through nerves and muscles and even down to the bone and can cause permanent damage that requires amputation. at fifth degree you have significant risk of organ injury and at sixth it’s basically like “fifth degree, but with the common side effect of Death.”

again im not linking to anything here because pretty much every information article you get on this stuff is gonna have some nice graphic images. so if you look this stuff up on your own do it at your own risk or have an image/media blocker extension ready if that kinda thing squicks you out

the main takeaway is that any burn from like the third degree downward can be very brutal and hard to heal over - they can cause swelling and severe scarring and the destruction of the epidermis and hair follicles means that new hair won’t grow. add to that the idea of raygun blasts tearing open that external layer of skin that means that you can get burns that go in pretty deep which would go a long way to explain how it is a weapon that doesn’t appear to have a lot of “penetrating” energy is capable of killing someone relatively immediately, especially if theyve got that initial kinetic impact thats capable of tearing open the dermis and making the injury go deeper.

im going to tentatively say that raygun injuries are basically full-thickness burns with a few bells and whistles. basically, they destroy the epidermis and the layer of skin below it, the dermis. thats the level of third/fourth degree burns and worse, essentially.

so, serious burn treatment usually goes as follows:

clean! that! wound! it’s best to do this in a sterile environment, cause otherwise youre gonna end up blistering the injury and agitating it further. you wanna get all the dead tissue and gunk off the burn.

pain medication. with most burns the nerve endings can get pretty fried and you might not immediately experience any pain, but since raygun injuries go a little harder than your average burn, thats probably not the case. people definitely consistently react in pain after theyre shot with a raygun in the both the mvs and the comics. so yeah, its painful. pain medication is nice to mute that feeling.

antibiotics and/or tetanus shots to make sure that you don’t get an infection

intravenous fluids containing electrolytes as well as a diet high in protein and nutritional supplements

antibiotic ointments/creams for the injury

skin grafts to close the injury since a burn of that severity would have difficulty closing completely on its own. yikes.

continuous monitoring of the patient to prevent sepsis and eschar from fucking with the blood vessels and healing tissue.

obviously killjoys do not have the benefit of a fully stocked hospital. if youre in bat city youre probably gonna be in more luck. but if youre slumming it or if youre in the zones, heres what i imagine the killjoy diy procedure would likely be:

application of water over the wound. cool water is best, not ice-cold (alright alright alright alright alright etc)

cleaning the injury comes next to prevent infection. ideally you would use soap. do not scrub as youll agitate the wound

pain medication might be helpful here, but who knows if thats common out in the zones - and i imagine city-born killjoys might have some hang-ups with taking meds, so who fuckin knows there.

bandages, ideally clean ones, would help cover up the injury and keep it from the elements in time for it to heal. that will also cover up the skin while the bleeding heals up. keep the wound as closed from infection as possible.

check up on the injury consistently especially since the burn probably wasnt sterilized on impact the way most burns are. a messy injury like that one can go south very very quick.

realistically i doubt that skin grafts are readily available. its recommended that you stay out of the sun and avoid lots of exercise that might risk reopening the injury. and that...is going to be nigh impossible if youre a zonerunner lol. its likely that improper treatment can lead to infection and then death. it is also likely that too much agitation of the injury can lead to the wound reopening, infection, and then death.

if you get stuff like light grazes, where the bolts clip you but dont fully impact you, that means youre like to get some surface-level burns that cover a larger surface area. theyll heal quicker if you treat them right, but thats a larger area thats open to infection. burns that go deep into the skin have more immediate fatality risk. there could be variation here as well! maybe a laser gun with a lower or dying charge will do less damage. maybe some guns have fancy “stun” settings that don’t do permanent damage.

the human body is surprisingly resilient and can recover from a lot. but burns are no joke and a raygun blast can easily be fatal either immediately or a little bit after the fact. even if you survive the blast, there are likely to be a lot of repercussions to taking a serious hit, which im again basing on the noted consequences of major burn injuries

likely consequences of surviving a raygun hit in the zones:

scarring. especially without skin grafts, this ones gonna be a gimme, and likely permanent. serious burns can leave lots of color changes to the skin as well as keloid tissue (which is a raised, lumpy kind of scar tissue. you can google it if you want but as i warned before: images might be pretty grody). this would also prevent the growth of new hair in those areas. most hospitals try to excise this and replace it with skin grafts to speed healing but like i said thats not likely to be an obvious solution in the desert.

nerve damage. burns that go super deep can permanently remove the feeling from the affected part of the body. this is likely to be permanent. deep contact usually remains intact but stuff like subtle pressure changes can be outright impossible to sense. this can also cause contractures in the affected area.

weakness in the affected area. related to the above point, damage to muscle tissue and nerves can reduce range of motion, strength in that area, and more.

itching and pain at the site of injury. pretty self-explanatory. that one might get better as you go on depending on how good the medical treatment was at the time of injury.

inability to sweat. the destruction of sweat glands in affected areas are possible if the burn goes deep enough. in the desert this can be very bad news lol

psychological trauma. a given. any traumatic injury can have long-term psychological effects.

my main takeaway here is that killjoys who’ve been in lots of serious firefights are gonna have a sHITTON of scarring, some of it obvious. lots of killjoys looking pretty fucked up. lookin wiped out. my other takeaway is that surviving a raygun blast is pretty dependent on getting care for it as soon as possible, cause the infection/hemorrhage risk seems pretty high.

ofc this is just me analyzing this shit to hell and back and it’s probably nowhere near that scientifically DENSE im just detail-oriented as hell. so take or leave this answer, whichever you like lol. i like writing the nitty gritty details of injuries since i generally wanna emphasize how rough life in the zones can be so this is something im interested in exploring.

hi! i don’t know if you already answered this (and im so sorry if you did!) but i was just wondering what your favorite and least favorite portrayals of all the skamverse characters were and why?

oh hi anon! i haven’t actually answered this ahahha all day i only answered when people told me their faves and never counted mine. this might take a long time to answer because i have to think and reply so long so sorry for replying late in advance...

eva:

favourite is lisa. she just started the whole thing and she was so real and authentic in her portrayal like everything she did felt so fitting with eva nothing less and nothing more. i would give a special shoutout to ludovica just cause she is my fave eva and i think she added a good comedic acting and edge to her character.

least fave might be alba not because she did so bad but because i didn’t connect with her character much. idk either the acting or the writing didn’t resonate with me she felt a little too plain. but maybe i need to do a rewatch. and anyway she grew on me.

noora:

favourite is nicole. she showed us how much nora faded away and a hollow ghost of her came forward throughout her seasons. the change in nore is apparent even in her posture, her tone.

least fave benedetta. kinda ironic because skamit is one of my top 2 remakes but yeah she didn’t work on me at all in s3. i didn’t buy most of her scenes which is a shame because she was good in s1 and she had good chemistry with the edoardo actor.

isak:

favourite is tarjei, definitely. there was something about his portrayal that made me feel like watching a documentary and no remake reached that level. he was so nuanced and a lot of his emotions were in the little mimics, looks and gestures. axel and michi are a close seconds.

i can’t choose a least fave here. i mean i like all the isaks in their own way. i don’t think any of them were like bad. i wish we got to see florian too. or or if we are counting lucas rubio is a isak remake then alejandro isn’t good as the extra clips show...sorry.

sana:

favourite is tua. she had the heart eyes for mohammed, she had such easy chemistry with him. but then she played amira’s anger and her pain and her pain through her anger in the henna party and the break up with mohammed so well.

least fave ugh maybe assa? this probably has more to do with the writing then her acting but idk there was something there that didn’t communicate her relationship with sofiane or her anger to me.

jonas:

favourite anselm. i literally spent the day praising him...the thing is while michi and lilly are easing into their roles in s1 anselm already seems to portray jonas so well. like he is so relaxed and natural in his role. and then he added a ton to jonas with his softness and his funny side. kudos to the breakup with hanna + coming out scene. with ludovico as a close second because he made giovanni his own too.

least favourite nathan bouts. i swear this has less to do with writing and more with acting. i find him similar to reiky’s jonas and while reiky communicated the loveable asshole vibes to me nathan didn’t. maybe he had better material to play with in s3 it would be different.

william:

favourite is nathan. i might like alejandro's william more as a character but nathan did the best with the not much changed storyline. he literally took the william we saw in og and added so much dimension like the softness with zoe, his voice when he is defending his views, his anger towards his brother chef’s kiss. chris veres is the close second here i mean even his comedic delivery is everything.

least favourite thomas. while trying to have him be this cold, popular guy i think he didn’t actually played well mostly just stood there with no expression. and that’s just no.

even:

favourite is henrik. really shows his power how no one was able to top him yet. i think in praising tarjei we forgot him but like i talked about all day THE LOCKER ROOM SCENE and how much he communicated with his eyes yup.

least favourite maxence. like i said he started bothering me on the rewatches and i realized they relied too much to his looks and natural charm of the actor. i might be biased here about rocco’s acting because i like nicco and marti and nicco so he is not my least fav.

yousef:

favourite is hassan who plays mohammed. maybe it’s because he had more heated arguments with amira about religion and their ‘breakup’ was more painful so i liked his portrayal much more. he just put something into the character like he defended his beliefs with as much fierce as amira.

least fave is lucas nabor who plays dani because spoiler! dani is yousef in skamesp. i will give him the benefit of the doubt maybe by the end of the season i could like his acting more and he does have good heart eyes but right now i don’t vibe with his acting much.

vilde:

favourite is lula. suffered through s6 for her acting’s sake (and for flavie’s) and she is just so good. the pain is in her eyes throughout s6, her breakup with basile was so heartbreaking. but also in earlier seasons she got daphne’s energetic and naive self so well.

least fave is nona who plays amber. idk i don’t vibe with amber and since wtfock cast put a lot into the characters even when writing is bad i think it’s more of her acting issue. it feels like there isn’t anything to her character and amber feels so one dimensional.

chris berg:

(not counting irene here) ah i would say fave is coline. i think she is the chris character that got the most material to play with (maybe why she is my fave) and she did the best out of it. but her scenes in s5 especially the one where she opens up is so nice i could read her emotions on her face.

least fave is nonexistent? i mean most of the time the chris character doesn’t get stuff to act with so like i cannot really judge the actors much when i haven’t seen much from them. and i just vibe with all chris versions.

mahdi:

fave is robin. s5 of skam fr might have gone downhill but robin had a really good performance that only got better throughout the season. especially the ending of the first ep where he looks over the street with his hearing faded away just the look in his eyes wow. honorable mention arda because his little improv lines with louis is amazing. he steals the backgroudn.

least fave again nonexistent because aside from robin and maybe francesco they didn’t get stuff to play with. i mean how can i judge dilan’s actor’s ability?

magnus:

fave is paul. his comedic timing is everything!! and most of that is improv so additional kudos. the way he stole a lot of background moments in s3!!! and s5 and s6 showed how well he could do drama too. when arthur tells him about his hearing the way his face crumbles - wow.

again no least fave because they don’t get material. like i may not like aaron as a character but i cannot say the actor does a bad job when he has to play one side of a character.

i think that about covers everyone!!! naturally i didn’t do anyone from druck or skam france new gen because this was just the versions.

i am so sorry that this is too long......but i cannot just name actors and not explain myself come on. and thanks anon for asking this i enjoyed typing out this a lot!

i also discovered something my fave version of the character doesn’t equal to my fav portrayal always. like nora isn’t my fav noora but she is my favourite portrayal. but jonas augustin and giovanni are my fav jonas characters interchangeably and anselm is my fav portrayal with ludovico following behind.

RFA + V+ Saeran Acting As a Guardian to Teenage! MC

A/n: Have some headcanons to soothe the pain I just caused

Under the cut since it’s a long one! MC is about 16 in this one!

Also: might include some spoilers!!!

Yoosung

Finally, he wasn’t the youngest anymore!

He was so excited to meet you and honestly he was all sunshine and rainbows as he talked about how you were like a little sibling to him

So gushing and doting, he’s more of an older sibling than a parental figure, but he still does it so well

Always brags to his guildmates he has the best sibling ever, and he will fight (and lose horribly) to anyone who tries to say otherwise

Very concerned over you since you’re so young and caught up in the RFA’s mishaps.

So proud of anything you do, even getting out of bed makes him cheer for you

Always cooks for you, anything you want, he’ll make for you.

He won’t admit it until he’s at his worst- when the depression and the grief from losing Rika really gets to him- but he looks up to you. He kinda gets jealous of how young and talented you are (even if you don’t think so), and wishes to become better so you have someone actually worthwhile to look up to (in his mind).

He doesn’t seem to think that you like him, he still assumes he’s a bit of a nuisance and someone else could be better. You however, love him a lot and value his presence in your life. You don’t think you would’ve been as motivated without his help!

Sometimes he can get a bit irresponsible and you need to drag his butt to bed so he doesn’t game so much.

Taking care of you has been a roller coaster for both of you, but he still feels a lot better since you’re here. He has cut down on his bad habits and has slowly grown from his past issues.

If you talk about how you’re going on a date, he’ll cry.

“Waaaaaahhhhhh!!! How are you going on dates before I am????”

He’s supportive though, and makes sure your date actually cares for you. Probably the only one on this list you don’t have to worry about when saying you’re seeing someone

Zen

Okay so the first moment you met him on the messenger, you flipped out.

“ZEN??? AS IN THE ZEN???? JDSFJNAJGNLSJN OH MY GOD CAN YOU STEP ON ME?????”

Jaehee also feels you but outwardly tells you to relax

He goes full on dad mode. He immediately checks himself and everyone else, anything above a ‘g’ rating and he’s flipping out. No more flirting, no more swearing, no more smoking, he’s gotta be a father figure somehow.

Once he cools down, he finds that his paternal instincts come naturally. He is very easy to talk to and is easily your biggest supporter. He wants you to feel confident in yourself and see that he’s got your back no matter what happens, something he didn’t have growing up.

If you say you wanna act or join theater (especially if it’s because of him) he’ll just cry. He’ll sob about how his ‘child’ is the most precious thing in the world.

He’s a straight up PTA dad afterwards, always going to your school when he can and checking up on you.

All the mothers and teachers try to hit on him but he ignores them because his shining little star is there

He goes to all of your shows, all of your concerts, ANYTHING that involves potentially watching you do something, he is there in a second.

After anything, whether you give a speech or a finished a performance, he’s there with a large bouquet of flowers. He’s so proud of you and he feels so enthusiastic about you.

His narcissism drops about 200% because now he’s focused on you. His phone is full of pictures of you and your accomplishments, and after anything he makes sure to say it in the RFA messenger.

He’s really easy to have a heart to heart with because you’re his precious little angel and he’s just as (if not more) emotional as you.

HOWEVER!!! DO NOT!! I REPEAT!!! DO NOT MENTION DATING!!! THIS MAN WILL GO WALK UP TO WHOEVER YOU LIKE/DATING AND WILL GO INTO A FISTFIGHT WITH THEM.

He screams when you mention guys- ‘MEN ARE WOLVES!! THEY ARE HORRIBLE!! THEY ARE DISGUSTING DO NOT EVER DATE!! YOU ARENT ALLOWED TO DATE UNTIL IM DEAD AND YOURE 80!!’

Jumin

So, let’s cut to the chase, you REEALLy liked the fact Jumin was rich.

“Wow, so I DON’T have to starve everyday???”

Jumin is...not the most emotional at first. He is just getting used to having to take care of you so it will be a while before he opens up.

Jumin is great for when you want to rant or need to blow off steam. He doesn’t say anything and just listens to you. However, it’s horrible when you want emotional/physical comfort.

He tries, he really does, but since he grew up so detached with his emotions he immediately thinks you’re dramatic. It isn’t until Jaehee (and perhaps Zen too) step in and say how he can’t keep brushing off your feelings

So, he decides to try even harder and understand the enigma that is a teenage mind.

It’s difficult as shit

After a while, he begins to learn all your cues and patterns, and understands what you want when you need it. He can read you like an open book now and knows when he should give you space or step in and comfort you.

He’s actually really good at it

He is always pampering you to the extreme. You watch tv and muse, “cool... there’s a new video game out.” and forget moments later, he immediately walks in with over a hundred games and pre-ordered, deluxe gold editions of them.

He is the prime example of a father figure at this point, and all your friends get jealous.

He only gives you the best and will settle for nothing less. You are practically his own child at this point and like HELL is he gonna give you anything he discerns as not worthy.

He likes taking you out for nice strolls after you beg ask for you two to hang out. You always get excited at seeing a simple cafe or mannequin with a cute outfit, and he wonders at how nice it must be to be so innocent

Plenty of outlets had contacted him about you, but he makes sure your privacy is secure. He doesn’t want anyone taking advantage of you or getting too personal

But they do manage to capture snippets of you two walking, and some misunderstandings have occurred due to it

“Jumin Han is dating a minor!”

“Jumin Han has child after affair with mistress!”

He gets fed up with the rumors and explains right away that you are NOT his lover, and you are NOT his actual child. He lies and says you were the child of a good friend of his, because explaining what actually happened would be weird

He is one of the worst when you say you’re dating someone. He will hound his security guards to watch EVERYTHING you to do, and he WILL have 707 do a background check on whoever you are going out with.

“What are they doing?” “Uhhh...they’re eating.” “What about now?” “Still eating sir.” “Are his hands visible?” “Yes sir, he’s using them to eat a burger.” “B-burger? Where are they at?!” “McDonald’s sir...” “What kind of lousy date is this, why did (Y/n) accept this, does he think he’s good enough for my child with his peasant lifestyle???” “Sir...they’re 16????”

All in all, he’s trying to be a good father figure and guardian that he never really had growing up. But he’s so prideful at seeing how much you mature, and even though he’s blunt sometimes, he hopes you understand he loves you a lot.

He also tries dad jokes, but they’re so weird because obviously he rehearsed it and he says it so stoically that it makes it even funnies.

Jaehee

Jaehee is a sweet woman, and she is like your best friend and mother rolled into one.

She is so caring and considerate of your feelings, and is your number one supporter.

She may seem kinda stand-offish, and kind of annoyed because she’s already incredibly busy now she has to take care of someone else and-

Whoops now she’s in the PTA and runs it like a damn boss. She is all over your studies and fights the faculty if she feels the school is not running in tip top shape.

She gets exhausted a lot, as Jumin isn’t exactly the easiest boss to work for.

It was kind of hard at first, sometimes she wouldn’t come home until way after midnight, and she’d see your body passed out on the couch with a note on the table about how you tried to make her dinner.

Even though it wasn’t the best, knowing you tried so hard to stay up for her as well as cooking for her made the food taste even better than anything a five star restaurant could have made.

So she tries to make it up to you in any way she can. She’ll pick you up your favorite movie or snack on her way home, or even little cute gifts that reminded her of you.

She writes down any information she knows about you, and makes sure to write about your friends and teachers so she can keep up with you.

She gushes about Zen a lot, and you were a fan too, so you both would binge watch his movies and clips of him. ANY piece of media involving Zen was devoured by you two.

You two were constantly picking each other up and giving gifts, and when it was Jaehee’s birthday, you wrote her a letter about how much she meant to you and even got Zen to sign a poster for her!

It was also the first time you called her ‘mom’, and even though the Zen poster is proudly hung up in her office, she can’t help but smile at how you called her that.

She is a huge advocate of following your dreams. She does complain about how awful it is to work for Jumin sometimes, so she hopes to god you do something you love.

You also convinced her to start her own cafe! You helped her as much as you could, and she was just...so ecstatic.

Jaehee is easy to talk to, she is always prepared with good advice and comforting words.

Probably the second easiest to talk to about dating. She is hesitant at first because one, you’re young and stupid, and two, she just doesn’t trust people.

707/ Saeyoung

Okay, everyone in the RFA was hesitant to allow him to take care of you. They trusted him when it came to his work, but this was an actual human being. He could hardly take care of himself, how would he even take care of you???

Surprisingly, he’s an awesome guardian

A lot of them didn’t believe it at first and they were like ‘blink twice if he isn’t feeding you’ but you shrug and insist he’s great

He’s very nurturing and protective of you, and he sort of sees this as a second chance to make up for when he couldn’t help his brother.

He’s really good in the fact that he’ll allow you your space to grow, but he will step in if you’re out of line or in trouble

Will NOT hesitate to ruin someone’s life if they dare hurt you. He’s got connections and the prowess and like hell is someone gonna make his child cry.

Saeyoung is still as corny and crazy as he is in the chatroom, but in these instances with you, he means it a lot. He does anything he can to make you smile, even if it means he’d get hurt.

He is a lot calmer though with you, and his parental instincts kick in a lot more. The RFA was shocked to see him actually change some of his poor quality of life skills as a means to be a better guardian to you.

When he needs to go on a mission, he entrusts Jumin or Vanderwood to take care of you.

He never tells you about those dangerous missions, he only says he’s going to be at a conference out of the country.

He always makes sure to get you a souvenir or gift when he comes back from those trips.

Joy rides in his cars!! He loves to take you to the beach or sightseeing whenever he can.

He stills eats poorly, but it really makes him melt when you offer him some dinner you cooked for him. He started screaming and Yoosung (who was on the other end of the phone call) felt his ears bleed.

He gets so excited for your cooking, like he stops his work just to take a bite of your grub.

He hacks to get movies that weren’t even released to the public yet so you both could watch it on your downtime. He’s a hardcore softie though and you still have yet to see him shut up or not sob all over you as you two watch.

“You’re getting snot on me!!!” “I’M sorry it’s just....oh my god how could this even happen??????”

You accidentally called him ‘dad’ one time and he lost it. He was jumping for joy and hugging you in a death grip, screaming, “IM A FATHER!!!!!”

Oh and he will definitely not pass up the opportunity to make some Star Wars references.

You can’t hide anything from him. He tries to not be snoopy but holy shit you did not know just how far he’d go when it came to keeping tabs on you.

By the time he was done he knew the name of your first grade crush, an incident where you kicked your own self, and how old you were when you got your first cavity.

Likewise, he will already know if you’re crushing/dating someone. He’ll pretend he doesn’t know, but secretly do a background check.

OKay so this definitely happened on your first date out with your crush, you two went out for milkshakes when your phone started sounding like Saeyoung’s voice.

“HEY YOUNG MAN BOTH HANDS ON THE TABLE NOW!!!”

You both started SCREAMING and had to be told to shut up by the staff because what the hell, your phone was talking!

You screamed at him later on to mind his damn business

And god help whoever you were dating if they hurt you.

This man will go ballistic and start hacking their things like a crazy psycho

“DONT WORRY, GOD SEVEN WILL FIX THIS!!!!”

But seriously, this man adores you to the bottom of his heart. He’s made many mistakes in the past, but you will sure as hell not be another one of them. Anything you ask of him, he’ll gladly do!

V is a great guardian for those who don’t like pressure or stress. He’s so soothing and relaxing.

Hardly will ever raise his voice at you, and he practically never gets angry at you

He can’t see that well, but he seems to have a sixth sense that just makes him know where you are and when you are in danger.

He likes taking you out to more scenic ventures, maybe even get you into photography as well!!

He has so many pictures of you, you are like his favorite subject

He even made an exhibit just based on you, and after that, he got a lot of calls about who you were. He made sure they know that you are basically his child

He feels incredibly guilty you had to go through this whole mess. He really wishes nothing bad would happen and you just didn’t have to get involved, but you always encourage him and say you don’t mind, you met him because of it!

He melts and cries a bit later on

If you call him ‘dad’ he gets so happy, like he finally feels like he actually did something right for once

But occasionally he doubts himself and can get kinda stand-offish in fear of how he might hurt you later on

He doesn’t make the same mistakes this time, and he makes sure you can get the help you need. He’s not gonna allow you to hurt yourself or others, and he won’t enable negative behaviors.

He doesn’t talk about Rika to you. That was one of the worst moments in his life, and he thinks you’ll hate him because of it.

You don’t- and he wonders what he did to deserve you

V is not an idiot. He may be partially blind but oh honey, he WILL know if you are dating someone. Don’t ask how, he does.

He’s chill about it, but makes sure you understand what you are getting into. He’ll sit you down and start questioning you or your date’s intentions

It’s a side effect from his past with Rika, he doesn’t want you hurt, nor does he want you to hurt someone else.

He makes you have clear and concise boundaries

He’ll let you do as you please, just please, for everything holy in this world, let him know where you are and be back before 10.

If you get into a bad breakup he’s there to comfort you but also calls 707 to use his special skillset

I feel like V would use a lot of dad jokes. Like he doesn’t even know where it comes from and he’ll just say one, and 707 flips out.

Overall, just a calm dude who really loves you a lot. You’re allowed to grow and be your own person, but within some boundaries. He’ll stop at nothing to keep your smile.

Unknown/ Saeran

Okay so... he feels weird. You’re a child. A damn child.

He gets very conflicted because he gets flashbacks of how he was taken at a young age

He starts off as incredibly scary, staring you down to make you fear for your life, but you notice right away he’s become...softer

If anything, now he feels guilty. You were nice to him, even though he did all these things to you...

Saeran becomes a guard dog to you, watching over you like a hawk.

As thanks, sometimes you would make him sweets

He loves them a lot, they’re now his favorite things

Pretty soon, a friendship begins to form, and then a feeling of guardianship over you.

He’s noticeably a lot nicer and softer to you, he’ll be cussing out his brother in one moment but then if you ask him for something, he’ll stop and bend down to your level and answer you.

Saeyoung finds this incredibly hilarious and nice

Saeran feels a lot better having you around. He feels a lot safer and happier, and knowing that you are safe and happy makes him even more excited.

He likes gardens, so he takes you to them a lot, and he even decided to start one with you

On special days, or days when you are feeling down, he’ll get you a special bouquet of flowers with different meanings to cheer you up!

Baking is also a special hobby between you two. Sweets in general are where you two bond, so occasionally you two go out and try different sweet shops, cafes, or parlors.

You two always rank your fave desserts and places

Do not, I repeat, do NOT tell him about/mention/ or even THINK of dating. He’ll probably beat the crap out of whoever you’re dating because, ‘they are not worth it’

Very strict and will throw hands with anyone checking you out- he’s like an angry dog

Oh dear, if your date makes you sad or upset they will be dead. Saeran will take no shit if they made you frown, and they better start praying for their safety.

You and Saeyoung have to hold him back before he murders your date

Okay on occasion he’s got you outfits that are similar to his so you both can match and he loves it so much

The most awkward dad jokes. EVER. You’ll be like, ‘hey I’m hungry’, and he’ll remember that he read on a parenting website that dad jokes make your connection stronger or something, so he’ll murmur, ‘hi hungry, I’m dad’. You didn’t know whether to laugh or cry because he was in physical pain after saying that.

You both got a lot to work on, but he tries. Really. And he’s so happy he met you, and he’ll make sure you grow up with a better childhood than he did. Nothing is too big or too small for him to do.

OKAY so baptiste is a really interesting support hero in that he rewards good mechanics, but he isnt completely useless if your aim isnt that good, especially if you just focus on healing your team and using your abilities

that being said! his primary fire can be very deadly and its absolutely worth it to practice using his gun so you can take out enemies on your own. his burst fire is a little weird to get used to, but after a while ive found that his gun plays really similar to soldier, so if youve played him bap might be a little easier

baptist’s spread is a vertical three round burst that looks like this:

the shape of it means that its better to aim his crosshair at the neck of heroes as opposed to their head, but the verticality is mainly due to his recoil. as such, it helps a lot if you pull down slightly when you shoot

heres a gif of me shooting at the head without fighting the recoil

and one where i am. note that at this range it only takes two shots

baptistes primary fire is best used when:

behind a shield/in a bunker. baptiste can help a lot with shield wars so dont just pump grenades into your team afraid that they might take tiny bits of damage if you focus on something else for a second

to finish off low health targets. it helps if your team calls them out but usually you’ll have to keep an eye out yourself. baptiste is very good for this as opposed to trying to get solo kills, especially if you just have average mechanics (like me)

in chaotic teamfights that could go either way, use your best judgement as to whether to do damage or healing. on attack, i would say to try being more offensive, and on defense always be defensive with his kit unless youre the only person left alive

against tanks and certain squishies (hes really good against pharah/mercy, zen, junkrat, etc, but has trouble fighting tracer/mini dva and snipers that are out of range)

when using his ultimate. the extra damage is actually really good

important note as of the current patch (6/18): baptistes ult is bugged so that it doesnt amplify healing, so dps away until its fixed lol

now onto his healing grenades!

they have a lot less range than you would think (like 3m i think) its good to go into the practice range and see for yourself just how close they have to be to hit teammates so you have a better feel for it in game.

he does 60 heals per second (120 when his matrix,, actually works.) and has 12 ammo per clip, making him a decent primary healer.

in general, his healing works best when youre on the high ground, due to them being grenades. so use his jump boots to take high ground as needed to heal your team! also, if youre in an area that has open sky, they can be shot directly up into the air for a delayed healing effect

technically, you can shoot his primary and secondary fire at the same time, but its rare that doing so would actually be helpful imo, where you aim for each is very different. i guess it wouldnt hurt to practice it just in case

also, his grenades have the same projectile trajectory as his immortality field, which is good to keep in mind if you want to aim the field more precisely. when i first picked up baptiste i made a lot of mistakes bc i flung it way too far lol

speaking of his immortality field, my Most General baptiste tip would be to use his ultimate on cooldown like an ability (since it charges so fast) and to use his immortality field like an ultimate

if you play zenyatta or lucio, i would compare using it to their ultimates. ive found that the longer i wait before using it the better (in my replays i see myself use it too early out of panic and the result is Sad), but you dont want to avoid using it completely and end up with a dead team. finding the balance is hard but it comes with practice

like lucios ult (and sometimes zen) it can be used for initiation! i had a really good team that fought a bastion bunker on paris with dive, and i helped by throwing my immortality frisbee on top of the bastion when they went in. if you have a winston, try throwing it in after him when he initiates

its also very important to pay attention to where exactly the frisbee ends up, because if you place it right, it cant be hit by the enemy team. try to place it slightly behind cover whenever possible. this is by far the most abusable part of his kit and i wouldnt be surprised if the duration of it gets nerfed to compensate. so if you want to cheese your way up the ranks, go into each map in custom games and practice where to put the field so that enemies cant hit it. this alone wont do much if you dont have the game sense to know when to do it, though

ultimates that immortality field is good at countering:

GRAV. zaryas get so mad about this bc people forget to shoot it and its so funny. also hanzos dragons cant kill the field so it can counter that combo entirely, just be sure to communicate to your zen so they dont waste ult

dva bomb/junkrat, but it will be instantly destroyed and your team will be very low health, so be careful. it also counters pulse bomb if you get stuck

earth shatter. if you suspect rein has it, stick to the high ground at all costs to avoid being caught! this is good advice in general for supports, but especially for ones with defensive abilities

in that same vein, you can counter emp if you can avoid being caught by sombra. note that sombra can hack baps frisbee so watch out

genji. genji can kill the field but it takes away from the amount of slashes he has and in this time your team should be able to kill him. if hes nanoboosted, you have less time to get to safety, so try charging your boots to get away from him in the meantime

mccree. high noon cant target the field. press f for everyones favorite trash cowboy. (it can however help friendly mccrees and pharahs from dying as soon as they hit q so try to combo!)

speaking of pharah, its possible to get her to kill herself with barrage if you put your frisbee right in front of her face

not good ultimates to try to counter:

doomfists ult can be avoided by charging your shoes and jumping up in the air (as long as youre not directly beneath him lol) so its not worth it unless you see someone else about to be smashed

related to doomfist, if he gets on you it can be hard to set the field down right bc of how his abilities displace you, so be sure to look straight down when you use it

reaper, soldier, and bob all auto target the field, so if its out in the open it just disintegrates

torbjorn and hammonds ults also kill the field pretty much immediately

also, as good as immortality is, there are some situations where baptiste just doesnt work as well as other heroes. if you have a good zen or lucio who use their ults well, or if you have a really mobile/spread out comp, you might want to pick one of the other main healers.

if in general you feel like youre not doing enough healing, try switching to mercy to reach your teammates better. if you need crowd control or anti heal then pick ana, and moira can be good at lower ranks if youre not getting any peel/dying too much (just please keep focusing on healing)

on that note, if your other healer insists on playing dps moira, baptiste is a good fit since he can main heal and also provide defense abilities to make up for that

as for his regenerative burst, all i really have to say is to try not to use it out of panic every time you take chip shots (i do this still lol) it works best when you and your teammates are all in a fight, actively taking damage

im sure that even with all i wrote im still forgetting something but i think im gonna call this done for now. i uhhhh love baptiste a lot and think hes a good hero to try to rank up with bc his primary fire has a high skill ceiling but his healing/abilities are more forgiving at lower ranks

oof now thats its down to 2 votes a day... its time we see who people’s real biases are... im guessing theres gonna be some drastic changes in the rankings from here, bc the kids who are just well-liked by everyone but not actually “biased” will be dropped like crazy. i know who im gonna vote for, but im sad it means i wont be able to vote for some kids who i know will really need votes too..... but i believe you can kinda tell which kids are “bias” material and which are more just generally well-liked. that’s all im gonna say about it, but for everyone who’s voting, just choose wisely bc some kids will need your votes more than others, just saying....

I’ve been getting quite a lot of similar questions on curiouscat recently so I figured I might as well put together a FAQ for new fans who have found my twitter.

I couldn’t watch (insert broadcast) live! Where can I rewatch?

Was it broadcast on Japanese TV? Are you within 1wk or so of the broadcast date?

FujiTV usually saves the broadcast for about a week for you to rewatch. Find the right channel + timeslot the show originally aired (most details should be published somewhere, just dig for it. If it’s Yuzuru, the FujiTV channel number and time will be on the front page of the viewing thread on Planet Hanyu)

Did it feature Yuzuru?

Check the compilation threads on Planet Hanyu which usually upload links very soon after the broadcast and throw some thanks to Kaeryth for doing so much hard work

It’s not in the compilation thread

Ask and hope for the best in the Media Requests thread

Read through the Twitter timelines of fans who tend to retweet news on your particular skater and they may retweet a tweet containing an upload link

Check Youtube/Dailymotion - uploaders tend to be slower (unless for competition programs). If you can find the Japanese title, sometimes searching in Japanese on Youtube or DailyMotion will give you results (Dailymotion is favoured more by JP uploaders since they don’t take things down as often)

It doesn’t feature Yuzuru

Best to message ‘main’ fans of those other skaters or check forums such as GoldenSkate (low possibility but maybe)

There are no official translations of his autobiographies Aoi Honoo 1 and 2 or Yume wo Ikiru (his newest ones) but generous fans have translated it (or parts) into English. C+P from another CC ask: I pay for it with my own savings. I've been working while studying since high school and also benefit from scholarships. I'm lucky to get some support from my family (they give me money on eg. my birthday/Chinese New Years that I save) and to live with them (since Sydney house prices are so ridiculous that it’s almost impossible to move out). sometimes I travel for work so expenses can be covered there.

I definitely don't travel this often all the time. I set aside a significant portion of my savings to do so. My biggest motivation for doing this trip I’m currently on (Europe + USA 2018) was 1) being in Europe already which, relative to Australia, means travelling to all these countries is much cheaper than eg. 4 separate trips from Australia it probably would have taken to cover all those, 2) having a large amount of time that I won’t ever have again and 3) being lucky to have eg. Friends/family in some of the cities I’m doing which means free accommodation. They’re very specific circumstances that have made it possible for me

Monsta X Beautiful in L.A. Day 1 Experience / Highlights

So before I go into it I want you guys to know that I’m still so ecstatic over something that happened two days ago, and that I’m not exaggerating when I say that it was one of the best nights of my life! Monsta X is my favorite group and Yoo Kihyun is my ultimate bias, but I felt like every member and every moment was perfect in and of itself.

It’s all under a cut and very organized, and I would appreciate if you read this in its entirety but you don’t have to! Without further ado, here’s the experience that I shared with Mio ( @sunnyoul ) on Sunday, 23rd July 2017 :)

BEFORE WE BEGIN

This post is kind of long so I separated it into sections. The first part will be about the line, merchandise, and waiting for Monsta X etc. The second will be during the actual concert. The last will be? The encore? And final thoughts (because I wish I could have gotten to high touch them. I really do). SECTION 1

The line was really long. The venue (The Novo Theater) is not that large in size but the line stretched all the way past it and down a few streets! People were selling merchandise and fanmade stuff in line. We managed to snag some wristbands with a few of the members names on it and large photo cards of them, as well!��

The wristbands that I got were Kihyun’s, Shownu’s, and Hyungwon’s. They are the green, white, and blue ones, respectively. They have the member’s name in hangul and a quote/lyric said by the member in either an interview or song. Shownu’s says “Everything about you is beautiful. I want you.” (which is from beautiful? I’m not sure), Kihyun’s is “I’m ALL IN for you.”, and Hyungwon’s says “Too beautiful to handle”.

The photocards are pretty big so I don’t know if the picture does them justice, but the thing you can kind of see above them is framed artwork so yeah. (I hung them above my desk so they’re always watching me now lmao)

And those are Mio’s spoils from the fan merchandise and all :) The wristbands are Wonho and Minhyuk’s version. Wonho’s is blue and says “Life is A between B and D” (which is one of his tattoos I think) and Minhyuk’s is green and says “No one in this world lives a perfect life.”

Once the line started moving and we got into security check ups, there was an official merchandise stand inside that was selling sticker sets and the cd/albums! We bought repackaged Shine Forever and X Clan albums, which had the usual photocards, album pictures, CDs, etc. But the Shine Forever one had small paper film photo cards and a little unfoldable poster of all the members, too! We laid it all out and it looked like this:

Of course we didn’t look at the albums until we got home because we were about to see Monsta X in concert! We raced up the stairs (and there were a lot because we had lower balcony seats so we had to go up higher) and were a little stalled finding our seats in the end since there were so many people.

Suddenly, the lights went dim and you could hear the song Miss You start to play loudly. Mio and I rushed to find our seats (which were perfectly in the middle but our pictures are still shaky because. Holy shit it’s Monsta X!!!) People were screaming and scrambling to find their seats, and what happens next is in section two!

SECTION 2

At first the members had not come out yet. But the screen turns on and plays a little intro. I didn’t take a video of it but a pretty good visual of it is found here. The introduction was different but it played a meaning later on. Then!! THEN!! MONSTA X COMES OUT ON STAGE...and the theater is shaking with noise because finally...our boys are out. They walk out so coolly and their silhouettes are there and everyone is freaking out thinking “It’s real...this is really happening right now!”

The intro song was Beautiful, and let me just say it was everything I imagined and more. Their formation? Impeccable. Their dance? Unbelievable? Vocals and rap? SERIOUSLY IT WAS SO GOOD... the online MVs and recordings seem to do them ill justice because they sounded so...raw and so heavenly in real life.

After Beautiful, things went down like this:

The next song was Incomparable, they just jumped straight into it. I had never seen the dance for this song and it’s AMAZING. Lots of hip work and legs and stuff, very pretty and lovely.

MINHYUK WAS SO SHOCKING...he’s got such a? Captivating stage presence it’s no joke, really. Especially during Incomparable where he’s got so many lines.

JOOHEON is just as hyped as he is in videos...he’s yelling “Make some noise!” at least once every other song, he raps like there’s no tomorrow and like he’s coming straight of the CD.

After Incomparable, they fell down straight into Hero. I was scared because at the end of Incomparable, Hyungwon just fell straight down but then I remembered that it’s Hero and the formation is like that in the beginning lol.

I.M. WAS SO AGGRESSIVE LIKE... HE YELLED “SCREAM” during his rap part and the crowd went wild. Throughout the show he wanted us to scream and call his name...like buddy what’s going on with you lmao

Can I also say that Hyungwon was fucking GORGEOUS? The main visual himself is no joke...he was super tall and very thin and according to people closer in the front he looks? Tired and sick? But cries that’s how he is since he’s so thin...sighs...

HYUNGWON WAS GREAT EVERYTIME HE SANG THE CROWD WENT WILD(ER)

Also the ones that showed their abs for Hero was Wonho (I think it’s always Wonho in the first chorus?) and Hyungwon (SCREAMING) and he’s SUCH a tease because he does the thing where he lifts up his shirt for a SECOND and lets it fall back down just as fast...

After Beautiful, Incomparable, and Hero, there was the first break and the members got to really talk to us and introduce themselves.

First to go was Hyungwon, although tbh we could barely hear him! He’s so soft spoken and sweet but people were so happy that he was recovered so they were screaming over him. He bowed politely if I remember right.

After Hyungwon was Wonho (?) IT WAS TWO DAYS AGO AND AT THIS POINT IM IN SHOCK OVER IT ALL SO SORRY IF I GET THE ORDER WRONG... but Wonho either way was very sweet, he smiled at the crowd and introduced himself in Korean!

Minhyuk, Kihyun (?), Jooheon, and I.M all introduced themselves in English. Maybe Shownu too but I can’t remember that well.

Jooheon went “What’s up everyone I’m Jooheon!!” and the crowd LOST IT

They bantered for a while and there was a translator (who I’m pretty sure was the translator for a previous B.A.P concert I went to he sounded the exact fucking same) catching the gist of it. Monsta X was just so happy to see us and we’re 10x as happier, I assure you

AEGYO AEGYO AEGYO they had an Aegyo competition. Jooheon did his kukukaka classic legendary aegyo and it was the cutest shit in the world...the whole venue did it with him tho so he wasn’t as embarrassed :’)

AEGYO well Wonho and Hyungwon did little cute face pokes and expressions it was adorable... Kihyun smiled at the crowd and and blew a kiss and that is probably the exact moment I died.

I don’t think Shownu did aegyo which is a shame because we all know how cute he is! Minhyuk’s aegyo was fucking legendary, he turned around and with a wide-eyed stared went “Oh my god” in a high pitched voice we all died.

I.M, being the mature maknae that he is refused to do aegyo so he sang another song. “Beautiful girls, all over the world, my time could be wasted, but I keep on chasing, ‘cause they’ve got nothin’ on yoooouuuuuu girl, nothin’ on youuuuu....” and it was actually really sweet!

After the break they switched it up and performed Ex Girl and White/Pure Girl. Despite Ex Girl being a sweet song MONSTA X WAS SO GREASY...they were body rolling and hip thrusting and I couldn’t do anything with them anymore lmao.

During White/Pure Girl, the crowd practically sang the whole song with them and in the final chorus we were clapping and waving our hands around, it was the best!

I’m not sure what order the next stuff goes in, but there was subunit VCR where they were showing clips of what the subunits thought of Monbebes and themselves! THE OFFICIAL SUBUNITS ARE 2CHAIN (Kihyun & Jooheon), Hyungwonho, and Minhyuk + Shownu + I.M and I was very excited. I.M was so funny he was making jokes in the VCR and the crowd laughed even if the jokes didn’t make sense lol.

KIHYUN OH MY GOd,,, he was staring deeply in to the camera to show off... why is my fave like this ... and Jooheon was so funny he said Kihyun’s seductive/wondrous stare was just him spacing out and he kept imitating him I was dying.

AFTER THE CLIPS the first subunit was Hyungwonho. They performed From Zero and I’m sure you’ve heard about it...how Wonho is shirtless...and HE WAS. It was so beautiful, though, and so synchronized. Wonho’s more sturdy and powerful dance style versus Hyungwon’s more smooth and airy movements were so good and complemented each other so well!! They did thE THING where one starts at the bottom and the other starts at the top and they walk toward each other.

The song itself was very sweet and rhythmic, the lights were pretty shades of blue and purple. I felt like I was under the sea, but Hyungwon and Wonho were giving me LIFE.

Also there’s a moment where Hyungwon is on his knees and Wonho lifts Hyungwon’s chin to meet his gaze... and I’m ... my boys please don’t do this to us... .

THE NEXT SUBUNIT was Minhyuk + Shownu + I.M and they did a cover of 24k Magic by Bruno Mars...they were wearing 90′s style clothing and everything! I was a little nervous about them but they KILLED IT...they made it their own and there was a sick dance break. Also rapping Minhyuk is the best thing since sliced bread!

The last subunit was 2CHAIN again and this time they sang a really powerful song, I think it was called Mirror and the chorus was in English and guess who killed it? that’s right Yoo Kihyun his vocals were ETHEREAL, OTHERWORLDLY and I felt for a few seconds that I was not on earth. Jooheon was rapping like there was no tomorrow again and there was one part where he rapped continuously at the fastest rate known to humanity...the crowd screamed so loud we did too!! It was so good.

After that the subunits slowly came out and talked about their songs and what went on behind it. Memorable moments?

Hyungwon saying that since he first saw Wonho dance, he has always wanted to dance with him on a solo stage and he’s so happy his dream came true.

The song is talking about how second chances are real and it’s okay to start over again

ALSO HYUNGWON WAS WEARING A NECK RIBBON AND WONHO JOKED AND SAID THAT HE WAS OUR “PRESENT” LIKE CAN YOU NOT,

and then I’m 100% sure there was a joke about how...Hyungwon started at the top of the stage and Wonho was at the bottom...and wonho was like “it’s never like that” anD DO THEY KNOW...WHAT THOSE WORDS MEAN... GOD...

THE CROWNING MOMENT OF THIS HYUNGWONHO THING IS WHERE MIO, @sunnyoul , YELLS REALLY LOUDLY “I LOVE YOU HYUNGWON” DURING A QUIET MOMENT. AND HYUNGWON. NOTICED. HIM. HE WAS ABOUT TO TALK BUT COULDN’T AS HE FELL TO HIS KNEES ON STAGE AND STARTED LAUGHING. THEN EVERYONE YELLS “I LOVE YOU _____” BUT NO REACTION!!! I WISH I RECORDED IT BUT IT’S REAL!!!! I CAN’T MAKE THIS SHIT UP IF I TRIED MIO GOT HYUNGWON TO NOTICE HIM!

Ahem. After that, the others came out and if I remember right. One of the members asked Minhyuk how he got the idea to cover for 24K Magic. And Minhyuk laughed and said “I still ask myself that question all the time!” but in Korean y’know but it was translated...then Shownu explained in English that “You guys know this song? It’s a popular song.” We all go “YES!” and he smiles cutely and says “Thank goodness” WE LAUGHED SO HARD GUYS.

Also Mirror (the 2CHAIN song) was so powerful but Kihyun and Jooheon weren’t on stage yet but the other members were imitating Jooheon’s fast rap. Seriously they won’t let the poor boy live.

After the subunits they performed all group stages. I couldn’t remember the order if I tried but they did Oi, Ready or Not (I.M. hyped it up. He went “Are you guys ready?” “YES” “Are you guys READY?” “YES!!” “Are you guys ready...or NOT?” It was fucking clever I tell you), Blind, Broken Heart, Honestly, White Sugar.

DURING WHITE SUGAR

They got baskets of sweets and I.M yelled “Who wants candy?” Us jerks in the balcony were laughing evilly and going “ME!”

They threw to the pit mostly but I think Hyungwon managed to throw some to the people in the rafters? He has a good arm!

They were chucking those things like nothing I’m sure the pit was a mad house for the whole time.

KIHYUN ... AGAIN ... being greasy... he picks up a candy, KISSES IT, and looks so beautifully into the crowd as he throws the candy. Bitch if I got that candy I would eat it MAYBE but I’d keep the wrapper...my boy’s lips were on it...

Hyungwon saw this and copied Kihyun lmao. He wasn’t slick

At some point the members were on stage again and Jooheon went “Now that all seven of us are finally here...we’re going to take our shirts off!” We’re all screaming and then Jooheon laughs and says in English: “I’m sorry! I’m just kidding!” what a jokester, that guy

Then there was another VCR clip thing except it showed the story (?) or alternate universe of the X clan... in the clips Monsta X were attending this school and after they graduated they heard that the city was tearing it down. They used it as their base and hangout and one day Hyungwon got beat up?? I’m sure it was a mirror to the one scene from the All In MV and then there was a bunch of scenes of fighting, running from the government, etc. I.M narrated the whole thing and was constantly saying how they were always together, and how they’ll always be together!

Then they did Shine Forever and I died. They also performed Trespass, Rush, All In, and Fighter! AMAZING REMIX OF RUSH BY THE WAY ...

They closed out with 5:14 Last Page (?) and bowed like a million times for us. They all said a goodbye thing. Kihyun spoke in English for a bit, mentioned KCON (?) I think? And I.M. said in English that they will be back for sure!! The rest of them said goodbye and were so thankful.

SECTION 3

Confetti exploded like there was no tomorrow. The crowd was dispersing because only the high touch people were allowed to stay. I’ll never forget that night.

Seriously, if Monsta X ever goes on tour again, I recommend everyone to go at least once. It’s the best time you’ll ever have and I still think about it as I type this. I still think it.

The Massive Difference Between 'Buy Local' And 'Local Buy' ... How Mayor Mullet Has Played The Townsville Business Community For Mugs.

Jenny Hill has traded on a trick of language to fool Townsville into thinking she is a champion for local workers and business, when the exact opposite is the case. It all revolves around the Local Government Association of Queenslands business arm called Local Buy and it is a deliberate play on words to line the coffers of the LGAQ. As The Pie reports, this one looks murky indeed. Also, the Townsville Bulletin goes beyond beyond parody, with one of their biggest side-splitting bungles yet and overall, it was a week you couldnt make up unless of course, youre the Bulletin. And is rebel councillor Paul The Angry Ant Jacob shaping up to take on The Mullet well, he may well have delusions of popularity and adequacy for a tilt in 2020 but there will be one powerful group that will try to block him. Also, the funniest comment on a news story this week comes from the most unlikely place and by popular demand, our regular pictorial gallery from Trumpistan. But first The shared thought-fart of the week belongs to One Notions P Hanson and the Katteronics R Katter. No sooner had Hanson quavered tremulously over the radio that people on the dole should be put to work catching cane toads at ten cents a pop, than Katter jumped on this creaky bandwagon and and upped the ante.

Bob Katter (right). Columnist James Jeffrey once wrote the Bob uses words like a cliff in Norway uses lemmings, and during the week, the member for Kennedy obliged with proof when he gurgled, giggled, sneered and croaked out his proposal that kids should catch the toads for 40 cents a time and be armed with air rifles to get the job done. It all makes one think that both Hanson and Katter are still smarting from their latest rejection letters from The Mensa Society, but the ever-practical Bentley thinks no matter how the creatures are caught, there might be a bit of a flaw in the idea.

Gosh, kids could be recruited under the banner of The Toady Army oh, hang on, maybe not, Townsville City councillors might sue for copyright. Is The LGAQs Nice Little Earner LOCAL BUY Costing Townsville A Motza? Some well credentialed business folks around town at increasingly frustrated with the little-understood Queensland Local Government Associations business arm Buy Local. And on the face of what two well-placed identities have told The Pie, the whole set-up looks ripe for rorts of all sorts, even progressing to very serious corruption unless proper transparency is in place. First this landed in the Nests inbox from a respected and successful Townsville businessman. Just wanted to highlighta program that shows that Mayor Mullet cannot only stuff Townsville as Mayor, she is also doing it as a Director of LGAQ against local businesses who payrent/rates and employ people.Townsville City Council is among those Queensland Local Councils using LGAQ Local Buy to avoid going to tender locally, allowing them toappoint out of town contractors with the LGAQ taking a cut (understood to be 10% of any contract, which of course is just added on to what the cost would otherwise be). Townsville businesses who were previously and successfully supplying services to Council have lost out under this scheme with many being forced to the business and had to put off staff. Any complaints about the dire situation made to Richard The Screaming Midget Beckett (no longer with the council met with threats that they would be locked out of any Council tenders in the future all under the culture from the Impailer and Mayor Mullet . To be an approved Local buy supplier you have to apply and I think pay an amount to be approved and there is a period of 5 years in which other similar other local businesses cant even apply. Momentum for change must be building as this excerpt from a letter from Local Government Minister Stirling Hinchcliffe indicates, after he received a petition complaining about the situation.

Also, has anyone questioned the $400k yearly service agreement between T.C.C . and the LGAQ and does the Mullet disclose her Directors fees from LGAQ ? As a LGAQ director, Jenny Hill, pops into her purse $31,000 p.a ta very muchly. Under the circumstances, that could be seen as blood money, since she must know the hardship this state-wide legalised rort is costing Townsvilles well-being. The Nest has received a number of complaints about Local Buy, but until this week, The Pie didnt have a coherent idea of what was happening so to get an independent assessment, The Magpie asked a business professional well versed in both business and LG matters to give this over-view. Given the current climate of spite and uncertainty, the person asked to remain anonymous. Local Buy is flawed in many aspects, even if one were to concede that its creation was well intentioned.Lets give them the benefit of the doubt to start with procurement can be complex and costly. Good procurement practice (eg. due diligence, evaluation requiring technical expertise etc) could be provided as a shared service, so that smaller organisations can in effect benefit from the capabilities of a larger organisation able to hire the appropriately skilled personnel. Theres also the prospect of negotiating better aggregate rates on the basis of aggregated volume. Thats the theory. The reality is that it is nowhere near this. Im not sure about the 5-year protection racket claim, but I do know that getting on the list involves not much more than paying some fees and ticking some boxes. This means a local council is more or less free to then pick and choose from the list, subject to the requirements of the LG Act. Magpie note: This means that the TCC can choose from a list based solely on price, which often means true locals cannot compete. This raises a moral question of whether it is more desirable to pay perhaps a bit more locally and materially contribute to a more vibrant local economy than to simply save some money because outside organisations that make no real contributions to our city. And it is this part of the system that is clearly open to corrupt influences. The Pie knows of none, but its an open invitation to it. Local Buy of course takes a Commission, from memory 10%, from registered suppliers when they win work, so in the end the potential benefits of savings arent materialised. Suppliers actually add the commission in. Theres also real doubt as to whether the Local Buy organisation actually has any real procurement capability. As a result, the tendency is for increasingly standardised or vanilla offerings, because thats the nature of generalised procedures run by people with limited specialisation and knowledge of local requirements or specialist areas eg, technology. Local Buy is a misnomer, of course. It neither compels nor guarantees procurement by a local authority from suppliers located within this authoritys area. Having said that, what goes to constituting local is never actually an easy question to answer, which makes a mockery of the entire buy local trope. One other thing on the Local Buy (and council procurement in general): theres a category called standing offer arrangement. This is basically a set of approved rates for services / products that a council can basically go back to time after time, without going out to tender. In theory, not a bad thing for pencils, paper clips and such like but as is always the case in procurement easily abused or at the very least, mis-used. The Magpie thanks the author for that succinct summary. It would certainly appear that we are being dudded one way or the other, but two things raise the Magpies curiosity: what do we get for our $400k annual contribution to the LGAQ? And noted in hindsight, just as this Local Buy system was being introduced, Mayor Mullet started dropping in the odd buy local slogan the timing appears to havde been there to fool people when they started hearing about local buy. Low level chicanery at its worst, spread about at the very time it now appears the council Jenny Hill heads was doing exactly the opposite. For Jenny Hill to trumpet the buy local cry is the height of hypocrisy, anyway. One of the very first acts she did when first elected mayor was to buy her new mayoral car (a top of the line Holden at around $70-$80,000) IN BRISBANE AND STIFFED THE RATEPAYERS TO HAVE IT SHIPPED HERE. And why was this? Because she had had a previous fight with Tony Ireland of TI Holden about repairs her previous vehicle, which she had mildly pranged into a gutter _ Ireland point blank refused her request to illegally mark it down as an accident insurance claim, which it clearly wasnt. Even although the Ireland company agreed to match the Brisbane price, Jenny Hill went ahead with the Brisbane deal anyway. Shes a sweet piece of work sometimes.

So if youre ever thinking if its true that local business people are fearful of spiteful retribution if they disagree with this civic leader, just keep that in mind. And Heres An Interesting Thought Wonder if Local Buy had anything to do with the controversial choice of pipe for the new Burdekin line, and did Local Buytb have anything to do with the pipeline jobs that went to Adelaide in stead of the promised boon to Townsville? Just askin. ya know. Yes The Astonisher Has Gone Beyond Parody The satirists lot is not a happy one lately. I mean, how do you make fun of something like the Bulletin that is so unintentionally crazy-funny to start with? Is this a secret plot to spike The Magpies guns? Last Tuesday, this appeared on page 16 as the editorial page of the Townsville Bulletin.

This is a stupendous blunder in a Townsville publication, that through their typical technical ineptness, the hard copy paper had published THE CAIRNS POST EDITORIAL PAGE the community voice (supposedly) of any newspaper. The editorial was of bugger all interest here, as well as being pretty stupid, anyway. It even had the Cairns deputy iditor signing it under the Townsville Bulletin masthead.

There was a time when this bit of prize fuckwittery wouldve caused an uproar, given the sensitive feelings between the two cities, but it appears weve been bludgeoned into not caring about the Bulletin anyway. Honestly, if it were not for the circle-jerk leadership of this city, the mayor and the head of Townsville Enterprise would be so incensed by this particular A community without a responsible newspaper is like a beautiful woman with only one eye (apologies to Brillat-Savarin). But still the harmless laughs kept coming. There was this story

which included this quote from one of the ladies of the night about southern blow-in blow-job competition on the streets: Theres false advertising, they send out a photo of a really hot looking chick and when they get there its some frumpy number. The girls have had a gutful of it This has been brewing for ages. Yknow, Thd Magpie thinks the lady might have a point. What sort of deceptive, conniving, immoral low-life would stoop to such trickery. Bet it would never happen in the Townsville Bulletin, would it? Huh, what? oh, oops.

But even when credibility-destroying cock-ups are right before their eyes, they still get into the paper. One should feel sorry for a decent old-time journo like Tony Raggatt, having his pic plastered between these clearly conflicting claims (the list clearly being nothing to with him).

But The Astonisher makes it easy to err take the piss.

This reeks of wreaking havoc on the language. Is The Angry Ant About To Up The Ante?

Paul Jacob Paul Jacob knows a cushy number when he sees one he is after all a Townsville City councillor. But it would seem our man is a tad more ambitious. The Ant broke ranks against Mayor Mullets Adani airstrip rort, conveniently just before he made an abortive run for state as a Labor-aligned but not endorsed candidate. Ever since, he has been regarded as a rebel ever since among the council sheeple and certainly by head shepherd Jennifer. So when he was front-paged in todays Astonisher

calling for an easing of water restrictions, many a pundit including The Pie, immediately assumed this was the signal for a Jacob joust for the top office in Walker Street. And that will be tricky. Unless Mayor Mullet abdicates and retires to malta, or runs on a Labor senate ticket her dearest wish but said not be shared by those who could make it so Clr Jacob will come under some intense pressure and even be flattered with promises of future glory by the Labor Party. Because despite her simpering shy denials of being a Labor mayor, Jenny Hill is, and is seen as, just that, and mainly by Labor itself. The party back room boys reckon mayor is as far as shes going, so they wouldnt rock what they see as a returnable vote boat in local government in March 2020. They know poor old Dolan Hayes will need Ashley and Martin soon with all the hair-tearing last thing the already beleaguered mayor needs is a Labor split ticket. But trust the Bulletin to come galumphing on to this particular scene with a few editorial bromides, but the best being this hilarious piece of total unselfawareness in an iditorial, which clearly is not Astonisher editorial policy.

Take your own advice, dearie. But Does The Pie Detect A Sly Dissension In The Senior Ranks At The Paper? Although The Pie doubts the feeling is mutual, he has great respect for the old-style work and values of John Ando Anderson he offers a very readable weekly service to the valuable rural readership of the paper, which clearly involves actual field work, and not just a few phone calls or, heaven forbid, lazy Facebook trolling. Now, Ando is nothing if not a steadfastly loyal News Ltd man; he has reason to be, the company spared no expense successfully defending him against spurious charge brought by the DPP over a jail interview almost 20 years ago. But The Pie couldnt help wonder if he wasnt trying to get a subtle message into the editors ear when writing today about Townsvilles landscape of words, waffle and impossible dreams.

Gotta love that line Pep talks are good for morale, but in the end, they start to sound like the boy crying wolf. And that, Ando, described PRECISELY the Bulletin editorial policy. very funny. Not much going on in filler episode, besides being in old footage, buck Dewey as a cat XD, the idea of clip on ties for adults and the interesting scene of Greg having a friend outside of Beach City, and a music loving one to. Plus the “Thanks for watching” thing at the end.

Letters to Lars

This is a much better filler episode then The big show as it talks about change without just focusing on one big thing for too long. I especially liked all the human gem interactions from the Gems helping out the Pizza’s with there gem attack plans to the improv group to Greg and Garnet (using her stretching arm powers) playing tennis. It also had some good funny moments like Pearl with her first cell phone (so many possibilities), Onion with a crowbar, Lars asking why Steven read the letter to him and who Peridot was, and Ex Mayor Dewey finding a new purpose in the series.
