big news: I CAN FINALLY SIT PROPERLY AND DRAW!!

Not to get to into it too much: but I recently was able to move out of the closet apartment i've been living in for the last 7 or so years into a slightly less meager place. Before this I was drawing most of my work on my bed, probably doing some damage to my back and body in the process.

I prioritized getting a workspace for me as I'm getting older and I'm not sure how much longer I can draw like that. My lovely roommate (bestie) and a friend helped put together the desk and chair. I'm like. So Grateful to them for this ahhh. (Also because I think things are gonna get real expensive soon so its best to get this Large Purchase outta the way now then later.)

Anyway, this doesn't mean to much ig wrt how much I'm drawing. The more important thing is that my back is gonna be hurting a lot less with this set up lol.

28. Any art events you have participated in the past (like zines)

Been apart of a couple of Secret Santas through discord and aO3. (I loveeee doing Secret Santa!!) Also done Reguri week last year. (And will be hopefully more prepared for it this year!!)

29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically

The only live action shows I've felt compelled to draw anything for are Doctor Who, Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Succession. Other then that, I couldn't really bring myself to draw for any other show unless its an AU based around it.

Also I really love Conclave for the juxaposition of various aesthetics (re: the pomp and circumstance of tradition and mundanity of modern life + I love religious imagery lol) but I probably will not be drawing the Old Man Yaoi unfortunately. Also love Sinners for its aesthetic as well, (LOVE 30s southern gothic, or 30s southern stories full stop.) but similarly I don't really feel compelled to draw anything for it despite loving it.

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated?

This is mostly because I spent so long on that background LOL but I still love this one.

Also:

I feel like I could redraw the background here a lot stronger now but Goldenrod Radio Tower is still one of my favorite things I've drawn recently lol.

I have ibisPaint on my phone/tablet but I don't really use it.

2. Is it easier to draw someone facing left or right (or forward even)

Facing left lol. I think there's a science behind it being easier to draw the opposite of your dominant hand??? And I'm right handed so.

Backgrounds, I'm pretty ok at them!! But they take sooo long augh.

A few months ago I was asked if my color style was inspired by Friday Night Funkin' and I have... never played that game lol. There's also one cartoon I never watched lol but the name is escaping me rn.

9. What are your file name conventions

lol for a veeeery long time i never named my files, Procreate saves automatically so most of them were (and still are) "Untitled_Artwork"

starting last year i've been more cognizant about my naming conventions, so usually they have something to do with the illustration itself like "artfight1"

my portfolios are a different story: my zine portfolio is numbered, and is describing the artwork itself. for example: "012 - Red and Green walking through a field of flowers."

I also just number things like "this is the 123rd illustration in this portfolio so its numbered 123"

Then, occasionally I follow the naming conventions of whatever zine i'm on, and its usually something like "beasttrash_zinenamecheckin1"

Also a big fan of just keysmashing a name if I don't have a minute.

TL;DR i'm inconsistent af lol

hiya, trainers — we've been hearing a few reports online of a few international trainers entered into the 2025 worlds in california having their visas / visa applications to get into the united states rejected, and are potentially looking to write a bulbanews story about it. would you happen to know of this happening to anyone else?
