i do sort of likee. sigh. mixed feelings on ppl criticizing likee. tiktokkers and stuff for "promoting dropping out" of highschool or whatever. bc like yes i dont think kids should drop out solely bc they get like. 10k tiktok followers or whatever. but at the same time th people who critique this shit are so uncharitable and act like high school dropouts arent like. real people. they act like were jezebels tempting the good smart kids into our hedonistic lifestyle and its like. idk. words hard it just pisses me awff. ALSO existing as a dropout isnt Promoting it to your fans its just like..existing.. yk
#plus likee. there are a lot of options For finishing highschool in non traditional ways. yk. and i feel like people act like these kids r#being robbed of their whole lives by dropping out#its especially funny when they say it abt like. juniors and seniors. dude theyve been there...#like for middleschoolers or whatever. i think being in school is good but even then#u lefit never know whats going on and why a kid cant do traditional education yk. every childs different and school ESP public school is#INCREDIBLY one size fits all... idk#disclaimer disclaimer im only one dropout blah blah blah i dont speak for the masses but like. idk#i get educations important but rhe way some grown adults talk abt dropouts is like. ok?#i shouldnt have to explain all the reasons i dropped out in order to be worthy of respect. like as a person ... idk

#rambling in the tags about smthn i dont want ppl to misinterpret#but as much as aromanticism is valid and everything#i think we should start talking about the fine line and overlays of aro specs and ppl who have avoidant/disorganized attachment styles#for 10 years i thought i was aro#or demiromantic or something bc i didnt think i had much capability of loving nor was i interested in it#but no now im realizing no i want to be romantic i want it so bad i want affection i want all of that#i just have a fearful avoidant attachment style so its difficult for me to really REALIZE and accept my feelings#all the while being terrified of being abandoned and forgotten about and unloved#had no clue what attacment styles were until a few months ago and im like oh thats why i feel that way. it makes more sense#than saying im aro#not saying its impossible to have a dismissive or fearful avoidant attachment AND be aro.#i 100% believe my mom is aro but she is also dismissive avoidant. shess okay without love and affection in her life#she feels too suffocated when love is too much#bht no sir not i not my fearful avoidant ass.#and i think its important to educate people on that esp if they feel like arospec isnt an identity they feel comfy with#bc its like? but AM i really that??#i could explain this better but not quite sure how to LMAO jts still early#just felt like rambking about that. arospecs u are soooo valid#anyone questioning if theyre arospec look up attachment styles. its rreally helped me out#text

birth chart analysis: harry styles
today we are analyzing our air king, harry styles. i have noticed i've only been analyzing women so i wanted to switch it up. harry's chart kinda scares me, at least his big 6. anyways, let's get to it!
DISCLAIMER: this is just my interpretation of and opinion on his chart. it is not absolute truth, nor do you have to agree with it, but i'd like to hear your thoughts in the comments :) every sign has its shadow traits. i have aquarius and libra in my chart, but i will be pointing out the shadow traits of these signs. astrology is just for fun, not that deep. i feel the need to make this disclaimer as people are seemingly offended by some of my astro notes...
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
sun in ♒︎, 11°
ah yes, the aqua sun. what is there not to love? the pickmeisha behaviour? the emotional unavailability? the know it all syndrome? LOL ANYWAYSSSS BEFORE ALL THE BUTTHURT PEOPLE COMMENT I WAS JUST KIDDINGGGGGGG (i am an aqua myself, okay? i'm allowed to make these jokes💅). so this placement makes harry a mercury influenced aqua (if u are dumb that just means he is an aqua with some gemini vibes sprinkled onto him). off the bat, we can say that harry is a humanitarian at heart. he wants to change the world and be known for some big innovation. he has a way with words. he likes to learn new things, but he is quite set in his own convictions. harry believes that he is smarter than most people, and he is probably right. developed aquarians are open-minded, but they are hardly wrong about things so their beliefs/convictions don't change much. the shadow side to this is (drumroll plz) KNOW IT ALL SYNDROME!!! with all that aqua in his chart, harry believes himself to be a genius but he is also above the school and education system. 2 cool for skool. did i mention how rebellious he is? harry is a stubborn person in general. he is either super traditional, or super liberal in his beliefs. he does not like to follow the crowd. he likes to come to his own conclusions on things and he has a dislike of sorts for those who cannot think for themselves. harry is eccentric, social, friendly, accepting of others, and a bit flighty if anything. he has some special snowflake syndrome for sure. he likes getting attention for his innovative ideas. he wants to be a pioneer of sorts. he likes to stand out for his uniqueness, so to speak. he wants to help the world and make it a better place. i mean, just look at his merch LOL. he wants to encourage people to be their most authentic selves, because he cannot imagine not living that way.
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
moon in ♎︎, 11°
bro idk what it is with these celebs and libra moons! 3/4 of my analysis now have libra moons. it does add up though because libra moons value social status and luxury. harry is charming, emotionally aloof, attractive, and likeable. he is someone who does not like conflict. he values peace, harmony, and manners. MANNERSSSS. he is polite and sweet to people. he may be fake sometimes and pretend to like people who he doesn't like lol. he knows how to make others like/trust him and he can easily use this to his advantage (read: take advantage of other ppl after making them feel special and showering them with compliments!!). overall, he is very concerned with what is right. he will stand up to bullies, esp with that aqua influence. he likes fashion, luxury, status. he cares a good deal about his looks. he can be quite experimental/unique in his fashion tastes. he is not a very emotionally reactive person. it is rare to see him yell or get very angry. he is calm, cool, collected. a people pleaser at heart. he may have a strong conscience/gets guilty easily. he is indecisive on his feelings. he is a romantic and he longs to be in a partnership. he is very social and always wants to be around people because it energizes him, gives him meaning. the approval of others is important for his self esteem. without it, he may feel empty inside.
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
asc in ♎︎, 28°
again, it is all about the MANNERSS with this man. he is so polite and charming. all smiles and compliments. a 'gentleman' so to speak. he is medium tall, beautiful smile, pretty boy. always well kempt and effortless beauty. quite aloof and detached when you meet him (and lowkey always cuz like he's all air). he is the type of person that u meet and u swear he was flirting with you, but then u see that he flirts with everyone LOLLLLLLLLL. he may be a hugger. makes people feel quite special. again, cares a good deal about his looks. to harry, meeting new people is like a game: how fast can i make this person like me???
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
mercury in ♒︎
okay harry, we get it. you are not like other girls!! with mercury in aqua, harry likes to learn. he likes to write. he may be good at learning languages. he has a way with words, albeit a bit of a unique way. he is curious. he is fun to speak to. he may be interested in weird niche things like the occult, anime, poetry, etc. he likes to know about the world. could also be into debating and/or politics, esp with that libra in his chart.
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
venus in ♒︎
more aqua, are we shocked?? taylor swift also has a venus in aqua,,, soulmates? so basically this means many things. harry treats his lover like his best friend. this can make his lover wonder if they're even special at all lol. to his loved ones, harry is generous, caring, friendly, accepting, understanding, and quirky. though he is non-committal and flighty as well. he values mental connection above all else. he wants someone who he can have good conversations with; someone who stimulates him mentally. he may be the type who is open to poly relationships LOLLLLLLLLLL or like sexual experimentation?? with all this aqua lmao. he has a very unique/eccentric sense of style.
₊✩‧₊˚౨ৎ˚₊✩‧₊
mars in ♒︎
harry does NOT CAREEEEEEE. he does not get mad or vengeful, he is a just a go with a flow dude who wants to have a good time. harry does not hold grudges either lol. again, he is rebellious and marches to the beat of his own drum. he does not like to be told what to do. he honestly could not give less of a fck what other people r sayin. he has his own methods when it comes to getting his projects done. his work ethic is: i will work when i feel like it! and if u tell him to work, he is less likely to do it because it triggers his aqua rebellion instincts.
anyways it's kinda hard to elaborate further cuz this man is just an aquarius through and through LOL.

I'll try to be brief and avoid rambling as I like to do lol.
So, I was on twitter for something else and then saw in my lil "what's happening" that "Tutsi" was trending and so it got my attention right away and so I clicked it and saw that it was #Kwibuka30. So then it kinda brought alot of thoughts that I've had for about the past week or so rush straight to the front of my brain.
Its #Kwibuka30, and its essentially a day of remembrance of the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda. Its a day that I don't particularly think about often but I think of that year and period as a whole more often. Its kinda two fold where as in the past I didn't know of it (the specific day not the cause) and now that I have actively chosen to learn, read and fully immerse myself in it vs. just listening to convos and stories through my family members. I'm also close to the end of a book "Do Not Disturb" by Michela Wrong that is focused on the murder of a former high ranking RPF (Rwandan Patriotic Front) member but for me touches on the subject of the things that contributed to and reaction of the '94 genocide. Other books I finished that also touch on the subject. With that I also am a smarter & more informed just based on who I was around and listening to and I'm older, better educated (more educated??) anyways. I saw all that to get to this bit that made me feel like putting this and these thoughts out (so I can come back to and see).
I was personally affected by the '94 genocide and my family as a whole was affected by it. My life would be completely different if what led to it and it happening never happened. So I feel a certain level of pain/hurt when I think of the number of uncles I never got to meet, or cousins I didn't get to know.. I feel for my mom who lost brothers, uncles, friends & my grandma who lost her kids, siblings, nieces/nephews, etc. So it does that to me and to those who I have no relation with I think of more now than then because no one deserves to lose their life like that esp. innocent people who knew nothing and were taken. Its political and a longstanding thing that folks were gonna get their lick back but damn. Knowing now what I know I think its important to clarify that if this were to ever be seen by a person who.. idk just wants to start something or call me or consider me a génocidaire (genocide denier... in french for a reason) for what I'm about to say.. its actually far from it.
I understand that #Kwibuka30 is more or less reserved for "commemoration of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi" I believe its also important that families of innocent Hutus should also be taken into consideration and remembered. Because the bigger play here is fully political in how its handled but its inhumane (to me) to make people feel less than or not be allowed to openly mourn for there own because others who did something so horrific shared the same tribe and that means they don't deserve the same sympathy... fuck that because its not fair. So as I think about my family and everyone who was affected. God Bless to all the lost souls that died, survived and many who feel guilty for being around. I pray for yall & hope you find a second to mourn, celebrate and feel free even if its just for a second.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This takes me to Gaza & the Palestinian people because it was for them who made me relive things that happened more so when i was younger and knew nothing. I'm glad I was able to get off what I needed in the first part but this was more due to the images I was seeing. I feel for all those impacted by what's happening because at one point that was my reality, and I listen to the people in my family and close friends talk about the periods where we were on the move from refugee camp to refugee camp, walking for ages, just the blur of it all. Its brings you down but my mom and I have convos about it and I see why our bond is so strong and we struggled together to get to where we are. My dad too! Out there put in the frontlines and making it back to check on me or having his men guard where I laid my head in many cases. Owing the chance I got to my uncle who was also in the military like my dad and he & his wife protecting my mom and I and so many stories where God was there for me and mine. Lucky to make it out fr. So I see the images of kids eating, playing, in their parents arms and I feel and get a jolt of emotion that reminds me I was once just like them. So how its imperative to show love, give, pray and what I can to help. Life is unpredictable and my heart goes out to each and everyone impacted by it all.
Idk man.. I had to get that one off my chest and put it somewhere.

hihi!! there’s so much talk about mahadashas rn and i was born into saturn mahadasha and i actually kinda liked it 😭😭
i think one thing saturn does do consistently is reward you for your hard work and consistency, and it really does get so good when that happens. my purvaphalguni saturn is in the third, with magha ketu (so not aspecting each other). i was super quiet and restrained as a child, but always excelled academically. saturn made me very quiet, but it always made sure i was consistently topping classes, and sometimes nationally and stuff (third house, again).
but i always found it so strange how i started flopping in academics the moment my mercury (jyeshta, 6th house) mahadasha started? like isn’t that supposed to help with education or am i wrong here 😭😭
for context, im the first child, born on a saturday (saturn ruled, and my culture really places such a heavy importance on days of the week bc astrology and spirituality and stuff and we have our own superstitions and beliefs surrounding this too). i mainly have jyeshta, anuradha, and ardra placements but some swati, and mula too.
ive always been a little upset that i didn’t have much saturnian influence in the chart, not because i like saturn, but because i feel like there are a lot of saturnian details surrounding my birth and it just felt like astrology kinda lacked in “validating” (if that’s the word for it), my saturnian influence.
but i think the moral of the story is that saturn isnt horrible, mine is the most horribly aspected planet in the chart, but maybe it was easier for me as i was born into it.
p.s. this is so messy i’m so sorry but yeah i just hope this helps some people who are entering their saturn mahadasha soon because it does get better with time!! (unlike this mercury mahadasha that’s so bland and boring and has me counting down the years till its over))
but yes anyway i hope you have a lovely day tomorrow and thank you so much!!
aww tysm for sharing your experience<333 thats very affirming to hear and i agree with you!! saturn rewards like no one else but it makes sure you "earn it" and YESS IT DOES GET BETTER AS IT GOESSS <333 the way saturn humbles u tho 😮💨
honestly having mercury in a water sign isnt great 😬and yours is in scorpio rashi too in the 6h of health, obstacles, hostilities, challenges, debt etc,,,, lets just say its a tough placement
also wherever leo is placed in your chart, that placement is highlighted and becomes prominent so with saturn in purvaphalguni, you experience saturnian influence more even tho you dont have other Saturn placements as you say, esp in the 3h of communication + what we gain through our efforts, you're comfortable working towards your goals and abiding by Saturn's binding power which is why you were rewarded for it.

Hey there! About your people-hate-math post, I wanted to offer a thought about why that might be so prevalent. I feel like in our current schooling system, there’s an emphasis on STEM as like, the *really* important subjects/fields that prove you’re smart and are valuable in finding future careers, and math is a big part of that (esp since it’s also an important part of some other sciences, like physics/certain aspects of chemistry, etc). So for a lot of students, there’s a big focus on math skill being a huge indicator of your overall intelligence (like when I was in high school, students who were good at math were generally considered really smart, whereas the ones who were good at writing or art but terrible at mathematics were uh. generally not.). If you’re not very inclined to the subject, it does become extra irritating how much weight it given to it and how you’re judged for your performance in it, which I feel is probably what leaves those people with a sore spot and distaste for math even many years later. I think that as long as we live in a society that quantifies intelligence in these arbitrary ways, it’ll be pretty hard to change this though :(
ok i got a lot of reactions like this to my post so heres my breakdown: in my country, literature education (of our native language) fucking sucks ass. like its so bad and people are being forced to read a lot of books they dont want to and in my opinion they really ruin the way people interact with books literature and history. i never got any good grades for those classes, even though they were seen as the easiest ones.
HOWEVER
some of my friends have written books, poetry bundles, theatre/tv show scripts. some of them translate novels into different languages so more people are able to enjoy them. sometimes they do this for fun and keep everything to themselves, but some of these things have actually been published. the reactions to them are OVERWHELMINGLY positive.
i agree that math/science education has a somewhat thicker layer of "if you dont get it you must be stupid" on it, put there for no reason at all, but still, thats not an excuse for making people feel bad for genuinely enjoying math/science.

Må fan of color here and to all the white fans and esp white European fans trying to make what happened seem not offensive or that big of a deal please sit down and shut up, white people do not have any permission/authority/power to say what is and isn't offensive and racist to POC. I have the day in day out 24/7 365 day a year experience being my skin color, white people don't so yea poc know what's racist. While I do understand them maybe not knowing what they were singing and just how offensive it was bc of shit like a language barrier or just not knowing once they realized they should've been on top of apologizing and acknowledging what they did wrong and made efforts to educate themselves forward to avoid it happening again which it did which is why it's so fucking important to know the meaning behind any song u decide to cover especially if it's in a different language and for white people to educate themselves on racism/colorism and prejudice because you white people can exist as if the very issues that endanger my life don't exist bc up till you noticed for you it didn't exist that's fucking privilege it's a privilege to hear a white man say racial slur and not be hurt by it not feel fear and not think back to the times when you were hate crimed and not feel uncomfortable and afraid when u realize holy crap "I'm the only POC here" it's a fucking privilege to see police brutality as a movement to support and not something that might turn u into a fucking hashtag. It's easy to remain calm when the weapon isn't pointed in your direction. They are growing and learning but they NEED an American on their team preferably a POC to let them know when something may be racially offensive bc at this point idk what else will work I have faith in them growing and becoming better people and being amazing allies I just NEED them to educate themselves better I love them so much but they need to do better not just not racist but anti-racists not just to generally be a good person but to make the fandom safer for POC bc I as a WOC do not feel safe in the fandom because of just how white it is and everyone trying to justify this makes it clear that my fear isn't baseless. Rock and roll spaces are already incredibly white for a genre created by a black woman so no you don't get to push out poc esp when a poc gave us the genre to begin with. Part of them growing into better allies is acknowledging past wrong doings and learning and growing and moving on and accepting criticism and any reaction especially as four white Europeans especially criticism and reaction from POC
We all love them we all adore them but part of loving something is helping it grow and learn
“Its a privilege to hear a white man say racial slur and not be hurt by it not feel fear and not think back to the times when you were hate crimed and not feel uncomfortable and afraid when u realize holy crap ‘I'm the only POC here.’”
LISTEN TO THIS!!!!!!!

yeah i agree with romain about heartstopper!! Cos i remember seeing straight people watch call me by your name and be like ‘wow they love just like us’. And i suppose much of that may be because if some folk’s only access to queerness has been straight media (hell, even will and grace was considered risque when i was growing up), then they will have seen the vast majority of films where queer relationships were either illicit (guys stopping at gas station bathrooms or for shameful affairs to get it out of their system) or ended in tragedy (still a common experience esp for the time!)
these experiences are valid parts of being queer, but ofc theyre just the tip of the iceberg and were the only acceptable things at the time - being gay is ok to depict in film if the characters feel guilt and shame, or if they die at the end was the subliminal message.
so i think what is needed is just more queer media. More more more, where comedy and tragedy and everything in between can be told, just like it is for het relationships. The sexuality is important and the illicitness does/did exist, but what we never really saw until recently was that love beneath because basically, queer folk werent given platforms to tell their stories. So we need more! on the other hand i can see how heartstopper is seen as twee. As a brit, may i offer my perspective on this? Because british tv is often much gritter than american (not talking peaky blinders lmao, but rather something like Normal People), heartstopper has this very idealistic, american caste to it. Sort of like sex education on netflix. We all love it here BECAUSE its so dreamy, its basically an american twist where no one is actually that horrible each other (hence being not very realistic for us lol) but still very british, in how subdued it is, how awkward, in the small town life and the mundanity, the quiet beauty. If the sex is awkward next season, it’ll be very very british haha.
I'm enjoying seeing all the different perspectives on these shows, really proves that different pieces of media can mean really different things to a lot of different people. One person not finding it entertaining or relatable just means someone else thoroughly enjoyed it and that's good and totally valid. Which is cool. Maybe when there's a gut reaction to poke fun and poke holes, also leave space for those who fall in love with some media. Sometimes maybe insular opinions you're exposed to don't allow room to consider others and I've been glad to read a lot more opinions. The bias I had of this looks goofy and boring, I see where others are coming from at a different angle. Neat!! Excellent conversations.
Love love love love this most of all:
so i think what is needed is just more queer media. More more more, where comedy and tragedy and everything in between can be told, just like it is for het relationships. The sexuality is important and the illicitness does/did exist, but what we never really saw until recently was that love beneath because basically, queer folk werent given platforms to tell their stories. So we need more!
Perspective. The entire damn truth yall 😘

#it makes me sad how quick to judge so many ppl on here are#like...i didnt realize so much that used to be normal isnt as readily accepted#which is not the issue. of course things that are wrong are wrong and shouldnt be justified in any way#but....to completely demonize people who casually like things not knowing that theyre bad? that isnt okay#so many people casually like snk and i think its really important that instead of completely shitting on them you educate them#on why these things might not be so good#also i think theres a very big difference between Stanning™ something and casually liking something#like. ill straight up tell anyone i fucking love reading about true crime bc its so interesting? it intruges me#but that doesnt mean i wanna go out and PRACTICE that. i recognize that these things are bad. i recognize these people are bad#i feel like with anime esp theres a very fine line between whats okay and what isnt and over the years people try less and less#to be able to distinguish between the two#im not saying that bad things arent bad. bad things ARE bad. but we need to be careful with how we throw around strong words#ugh. ugh ugh ugh ughugh#just..ive seen so many things since remaking my anime blog and its so tiring. i know youre all 14-16 and you still have time to learn but#theres just way too much hatred being thrown around#so much immaturity that i thought was an issue in the phandom but im now realizing#that our issues over there are absoultely NOTHING compared to the ones over here#its just so tiring. i just wanna watch anime and read web comics and be happy when i see two boys kiss#anyway. i dont really have many followers on here so nobody will read this probably (and this is a lot)#but i needed to get this off my chest because im just really annoyed and tired? ive been unfollowing a lot of anime blogs today lol#anime fans these days scare me tbh like just. chill#its just anime bro#alexa.txt

I just realised some thing... (I am very much spit balling here) Gideon's body! If you think about it, in the epilogue of HtN, whom ever is piloting Gideon's unwilting meat suit, they are aware that: 'One goes to work'' (to provide for them) "One takes care of her" (cause she cant be trusted not to shove her hand in a deep fat fryer to grab a battered sausage - same Gideon, same! It's a whole ass mood, bbz.) and the third is sickly, but is implied takes care of the house and teaching the autopilot body. (And we can safely assume seems to be in the throes of depression and because of AYU, its a good bet that she's suffering from chronic pain! Hugs for Judith.) (more under the cut.)
Needless to say, the three musketeers are doing their best to eek out a living, and also try figure out who the hell is in Gideon's body. (I mean shoving your hand into a deep fat fryer with no regard for safety could quite easily be Gideon whose a bit of a dumbass (affectionate) and loves her food OR Harrow, who quite frankly probably wouldn't give two shits about damaging something she can so easily fix. Esp after the reveal that the meat suit didn't rot n even critters wouldn't touch it!) (It's a 50/50 , cause the three musketeers have some idea of how Lyctorhood works, esp with Pal hitching a lift in Cam...but the Three Musketeers dont’t have the meta data we do to jump to the conclusion that Gideon is basically Jesus! Yes, they are aware that it could be someone else, put they are really hoping that it isn’t.) (yeah, it just occurred to me that The Locked Tomb prayer, of pray that the rock never rolls away, has some pretty close Easter/Jesus imagery of rocks rolling away from tombs of death, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Annnny waaay. Finally getting to my point. The main point being, they are taking care of Gideon's meat suit! And I realised that, it doesnt matter if its Gideon OR Harrow.... the person piloting it seems to have amnesia, meaning they can't remember how they were raised in so much grief and suffering. They are getting a fresh start, surrounded by love and affection! A reprieve. A breather. Yes, being refugees on strange planet is not ideal. But they have Corona, who comes home more than likely exhausted but with a smile on her face. (She has purpose, she's doing something important. She's important to people she cares about. ) She's happy to come home to her weird family. Her 3 girls! You have Cam, who is sweet, understanding and patient. (her love language is so loud in AYU, though she says very little.) Helping the body learn how to function, taking care of them in the gentlest and affectionate ways during a person's most vulnerable time, ALA baby. (You don’t do that for someone unless it comes from a place of deep affection) And finally, you have Judith, though in the throes of grief, (quite possibly still having blow outs with Corona cause she can't accept their situation nor her feelings for the Princess of Ida....Also, being massively physically active and then being confined due to illness can have a huge affect on someone's mental health.) She's still attempting to teach the meat suit some form of education. Yes, this can be seen as a ploy of Judith, a sliver of hope that whom ever is in there might be loyal to the King Undying and help her escape, but it can’t be denied that there’s still a level of affection there at its core.. It’s a love and affection neither Gideon or Harrow have ever experienced! A foul mouthed, lewd minded sword swinging dumbass (affectionate) and a prickly bone gremlin (affectionate) made such an impression in a few short months, that they have three people, who up until recently were relative strangers - each in their own way - showering them with love! even in the most dire of circumstances. They have people watching over them, protecting them and begging for their return! When they do come back, fully, what if they cant remember their up bringing? Even just for a short while? What would that look like? What would Gideon or Harrow look like, not twisted by pain, hurt, grief, abandonment, guilt? But surrounded by love and affection? ........ ....... Also imagine, when Gideon's body came to life and walked through that door? the reactions!! I’m pretty sure Judith probably shat herself! Once over the initial shock, Corona would have barrelled into the body, hugging it tight. And Cam, rather warily I suspect -- cause yeah, dead body's don't just up and walk about unless a necromancer is hovering around -- after thought and consideration and a chat with Pal... was more than likely happy that Gideon was 'alive' and showed that in her own way!

MOON SIGN MAGIC ✨🌛🌠 (Part 1)
Hey Yall!
Today we will talk about moon signs!!! Yet, I'll only do half the signs because I'm trying to rest. So I'll only do up to Virgo! But I'll be back to finish the rest!
The moon rules our emotional instincts/emotional comfortabilty. It also can point to our relationship with our mom or women in our life. This isnt just set and stone as the house your moon is set in matters as well along with other aspects in your chart, but we'll save that for another post. ☺️. For now, let's discuss some moon sign magic ✨☄💫.
Aries Moon:
An Aries moon may be very reactive when it comes to their emotions. Usually this is short lived, and this is because Aries is ruled by Mars, a planet that is not patient and acts now and thinks later. So an Aries moon may do some rash things to make themselves feel better, but usually it's very in the moment. Be sure to think before you react Aries moon 🥰❤. Mom or women in their life may be combative though :/ or just alot of reactive energy with the women in their life. Yet, a little patience goes a long way and setting boundaries with these chaotic folks, as I know that energy gets to be overwhelming sooner or later.
Taurus Moon:
A Taurus moon may be very slow reacting or very private with their emotions. Taurus? Private? Yes Taurus opposes Scorpio, so they may share some qualities, like privacy. Plus, Taurus moons (or Taurus placements in general) may be private because they may get tired of people trying to change how they fucking feel, so they may just stop speaking about their emotions as much to protect themselves. Moreover, since Taurus rules material things, retail therapy may be a comfort for them or going to a restaurant to eat their favorite dish 🍔🍟. It helps them decompress ☺️😊. A Taurus moon may have a mom who loves luxury and may spend money on them! Yet, mom/women can have some stubborn ways with them, that's not necessarily bad all the time though. It teaches to have those high standards ❤💜💵💎💍👑.
Gemini Moon:
A Gemini moon may deal with their emotions through talking with their siblings or neighbors, as Gemini rules the 3rd house. They also may journal out how they feel to process as Gemini is a mercury sign. They also may take a short trip somewhere to decompress. They also may watch a random documentary since 3rd house rules primary education and learning. They also may like to play games as well. A Gemini moon may have a mom who is a social butterfly. Also mom could have a twin (Gemini moons sound off on this). Or the women in their life could have twins.
Cancer Moon:
Wow! The moon is in its home sign here. Cancer moons love nurturing and love being nurtured to feel better. May also lean on their mom/women for support and mom/women is so willing to help 🥺. The moon is a planet that changes quickly though, so a cancer moon may change their mood alot sometimes. Also, a cancer moon may have a good relationship with their mom or with women in their life. Unfortunately not all cancer moons have this. Some cancer moons can have moms that leans on THEM!! Its interesting, but I've seen that actually happen.
Leo Moon:
A Leo moon can have very theatrical reactions when it comes to their emotions, I actually adore it! ☺️. They also can be more emotionally sensitive since their moon is ruled by the Sun (Sun = ego). So its extremely important for them to have that confidence esp with their emotions. Yet, it's not like they aren't already confident, just be more careful because every attack on you isnt an invalidation of your feelings! Some people really wanna help baby 🥺. I like having Leo moon friends because at least they're forward with their emotions. Someone with a Leo moon may have a mom who is also well-known if not famous. Their mom can also be a very happy, confident individual! Or have alot of super confident women around them! YESSS!!!!
Virgo Moon:
A Virgo moon may feel best when they are helping others. Virgo moons may also feel more comfortable at work since Virgo rules over employees/employment(which again is servicing people). Since Virgo rules health, esp the stomach, Virgo moons are not in a good place emotionally when they are sick, esp if they are having tummy issues at the time. It just throws off their whole vibe lol. Virgo moons tend to be very critical of themselves emotionally as if they cant feel their emotions WHICH IS NOT TRUE STOP DOING THAT TO YOURSELF VIRGO MOON!! This can also be that a Virgo moon may have a critical mom or critical women around them :/. Yet, you're doing just fine baby you really are.
That's all for Part 1! I'll be back with Part 2 soon!

ik anon from before was talking about how weird and guilt trippy the whole "if you dont rt or rb [insert tragedy or petition etc.], then youre racist/homophobic/ableist/any sort of bigoted" is for people who live outside of america, but like. even as a queer nd poc who is american, its so f*cking weird.
because newsflash, i dont want to constantly be looking at the horrible things other people like me are going through 24/7, especially when its on twitter or tumblr where i came to escape all that. but that doesnt mean i don't care, and it hurts for people to act like im some sort of traitor for not doing internet activism when they don't know who i am as a person and what im going through irl.
i dont want to come off as if im complaining, but its just frustrating to be called a bigot against yourself because you want to curate your own online experience.
exactly! and here's the thing: online activism isn't the most efficient mode of activism that exists online. that's the main issue here- people think that online activism is a life or death situation.
at most, online activism can help educate tons of people on issues, and can boost charities and petitions, but that's it! a lot of the time, these issues can only be solved if the government actually did something, or if people from orgs actually did something, which is why online activism shouldn't be considered as a thing you need to consume in 24/7! people forget to find a proper end goal to a lot of their guilt trippy tweets, which is a big problem, because essentially, you made people feel bad for nothing /nay
i think it's also important for people, esp minorities, to know that they don't have to focus on issues 24/7 if it makes them feel bad because it's valid that watching your own people get hurt makes you feel bad. if the internet is a form of escapism for you, then THAT'S VALID. PERFECTLY VALID.

answer all in detail I dare you this is for reminding me of dmmd
you’re never gonna let me live that down are u smh
EE here we goooooo
1: LOL no but i do think you’re a freak if you outright hate cats. theyre not doing anything to you they’re just chilling and you dont know how to read their body language. i get not liking dogs bc they can be scary but people who hate cats are always like “cats killed my parents and burned my house down so i think they should all be put down” like shut up freak
2: i think skin care is a scam tbh all u need is sunscreen if you’re gonna spend time in the sun but other than that just use normal water and soap ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i havent ever had issues with my skin w this method especially since i stopped wearing makeup. u dont need a 10 step routine with creams and serums you’re just spending money you could use elsewhere
3: i cringe everytime this is brought up. i think a lot of claims have roots in misogyny but i dont think its an actual axis of oppression and im tired of hearing about it
4: i dislike political lesbianism on an intimate level. there’s nothing wrong with wanting to center women in your life but you cant choose to be a lesbian. sexual orientation doesnt work that way. and a lot of political lesbians/lesbian feminists are just plain old homophobes who are disgusted by actual lesbians
5: love it wish i could live my life completely separate from men!! i think women should center women in their lives/surround themselves with other women. whether its only having female healthcare providers, having female educators, coworkers, friends etc; i think its incredibly important and more women should be less afraid of it
6: as a so-called gold star i dont understand the hate tbh if anything there should be more support for lesbians so they dont need to ~explore~ with men or force themselves to be with men. in a perfect world all lesbians would be gold stars because we would feel safe and comfortable in our sexualities from the get go
7: i think centering your feminism on your sexuality is a little silly. we have different experiences but we should be focused on liberation for ALL women. i think we have different priorities and i know hetfems can be extremely homophobic which is a huge problem. but like we’re all women so
8: personally? i get it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not only should women be able to access abortions for any reason, i completely understand not wanting to bring another male into this world. could u imagine having a male baby who grows up to be a pornsick patriarchal piece of shit? id kms
9: while i get the desire to ~go back to nature~ i think its kind of bullshit. we have science and medicine for a reason so get your flu shot and quit expecting elderberry syrup to be a miracle drug. ntm a solid majority of health supplements and herbal remedies are NOT fda approved so they’re full of toxic shit and like sawdust its not as healthy as you think it is. also preservatives good i like my junkfood tyvm
10: pastel blogs no but age regression? yeah tbh i dont understand wanting to treat yourself/be treated as a literal child when you’re a grown adult. its very icky to me and i do think that a good majority of it is fetishization of children/childhood its gross. you can like cute stuff and kid stuff without being a weirdo freak about it
11: bad i think all polyamory ppl are just looking for “ethical” ways to cheat on their partners with no repercussions. if you arent satisfied in your relationship you need to take a look at yourself and not go “oh ig i just need to fuck more people then”. polygamy is bad and used (esp in fundamentalist sects) to dominate women and keep them subservient to men all polygamists die challenge
12: i think veganism is an extremely restrictive diet and treating it as the be-all end-alll of moral superiority is just insane. humans are omnivores and beyond that, a lot of the vegan staples come from unsustainable and exploitative farming practices that put real workers at risk. also i think a lot of vegans are straight up annoying like shut up people like meat. we should be focusing on sustainable and humane farming practices not eradicating meat from our diets entirely.
13: ohhh i hate this question but??? i think gay men. from my experience straight women are so disgusted by the idea of lesbians and our attraction to women whereas gay men can understand where we’re coming from bc they face the same kind of attitude from men- we’re degenerates who are perverted and disgusting for being same sex attracted according to straight people
14: im not straight so its weird to answer this but tbh? i think its a good idea. protect yourselves from men who will hurt you and abuse you during the most intimate moments of your life, and protect yourself from stds and the dangers of pregnancy at the same time. tbh if all women went on a sex strike i think men would straight up die and thats a good thing
15: NOOOOO i hate this lmfao femmes are lesbians and even if they wear makeup/perform femininity it doesnt change that. tbh i dont get it and think all women should break free of the prison of femininity but that doesnt make them not lesbians
16: i think its fun! we need more magic in the world tbh and if that means you believe in astrology or crystals then good for u. if im being honest i have tarot decks that i use and its a good way to see your questions/issues in a different light. plus its fun. dont we all wish magic was real in some way? its when it trumps your respect/belief in actual science that it becomes a problem. ur crystals wont cure your mental illness but they can make u feel better wrt the power u place on them
17: eesh…..i want to say yes, but i also always want to point to rachel held evans and female pastors etc and go see!! women are taking back power in religion!!! its just so difficult because for a majority of history religion HAS been used to oppress women. i think if you’re a woman who is interested in religion you need to find women who share your beliefs & standards and find your community with them and not the church as a whole. re: a biblical perspective a lot of the stories do involve women in a way that isnt as shockingly misogynistic. there are stories of women among jesus’ disciples, stories of women rising up against their abusers & against corrupt men in positions of power etc i think its important to remember that the bible is first and foremost a document with its own historical context, one that comes from when women were little more than property and that its authors themselves were from that time as well
18: i guess? in the way that people can be shitty about bisexuals. but its not an axis of oppression in the same way homophobia/misogyny is. no one is banning bisexual marriage theyre banning homosexual marriage.
19: okay ): all jokes aside it might be immature but it can be extremely funny. i am not immune to 12 year old sense of humor
20: as an adult i feel weird about it like if youre a young teen im not gonna follow you/interact with you and i think we should all be more considerate of that. but if theyre being racist/homophobic/misogynistic being a minor isnt gonna save them from being told what theyre doing is shitty. we also need to be aware that kids learn from the adults around them so we have a responsibility to be good role models regardless of what we may think about it. there’s always going to be moments where we interact with minors so we need to make sure we’re instilling in them good values and confidence within themselves, ESPECIALLY young girls
21: bad. being a gay man doesnt make you not a man and means you still need to do the work when it comes to misogyny. you arent a women and shouldnt treat womanhood as a costume or a fun little jokey joke you can use on a whim.
22: why do they look like that. why are they so often so misogynistic (using derogatory terms for women, calling each other fishy etc). its never as respectful as drag kings are, it seems like theyre using ramped up and obnoxious performances of femininity to hate and mock women
23: if normal healthy sex isnt enough for you youre a freak who needs therapy tbh especially if your kinks are violent and degrading its just not healthy and im afraid you’re going to use it as an excuse to hurt and violate women. plus the idea that anything can be a kink is just microlabeling to an extreme. wanting to be praised during sex isnt a kink its normal. being attracted to hands isnt a kink theyre just nice looking and you appreciate the human body etc
24: i dont condone the usage of slurs in any context
25: what the fuck is this LMFAO??? OH WAIT is this like…the discourse around dating bi women bc some people think theyve been ~tainted~ from their experiences with men?? thats just bad and misogynistic lmfao
26: i think it can be dangerous for women (stds the risk of pregnancy how men use it as a tool to hurt and force women into submission) but i dont think its inherently degrading like blowjobs are
27: NO LMFAO THEYRE GAY i hate this way of thinking butch/femme is a huge part of lesbian culture and its irritating for it to be discounted. imitating heterosexuality would be like. sucking on strap (ew) and etc not simply just being butch/femme
28: um. i dont see the need just leave them alone. your pubes are there to protect your vulva theres no need to put product in them in fact it defeats the purpose. quit putting unnecessary products near your vulva people wtf
29: i dont think it exists lol i think there are people with little interest in sex people who have low libidos for one reason or another etc but especially from reading about how asexies describe wanting sex/seeing other people its just a product of extreme compartmentalization of sexuality. plus the idea that everyone who isnt asexual just wants to bone everyone they see is so ridiculous its laughable. in my personal experience i called myself ace as a young teen bc i didnt relate to conventional descriptions of attraction bc um i was just gay and we all experience attraction differently
30: not the ones who arent white i mean i have a horrible uscentric worldview that comes from being raised in the us so…but i think if you’re white you’re white but there are europeans of all heritages and races just like theres us americans of all heritages and races. but like youre not not white just bc ur italian yk?

Some thoughts on decolonization for white ppl
I work for a place that discretely folds the concept of decolonization (esp of white ppl) into its work. It’s not a perfect process and it’s not equally accessible to everyone, but it’s definitely an active effort. There’s a lot I’d like to say to our customers to help them along, but I don’t interact with them in this particular capacity in my role. I’ll share some of those thoughts here--some answers to uncomfortable and unspoken/poorly spoken questions. (Questions not included. I tried, but I got the feeling I’d be excluding a lot of folks who simply may have asked it differently). (Also It occurs to me that it may be problematic or at least annoying to use the word “decolonize” for white people when decolonization for everyone else is so much more dangerous and opposed. It’s not my intent to steal or misuse a word. I’m not sure of a better word to use and feel strongly about turning the lens on whiteness for the healing and betterment of us all.)
1) Decolonization is a process of recovery from centuries (for some, over a millennium) of having our minds, bodies, and spirits colonized by the culture(s) of exploitative, dehumanizing oppressors. As it stands opposed to the foundations of the colonizer culture (and the basis of entire nations), it involves a lot of re-education and introspection. Colonizers are also colonized--so deeply and historically that we’ve absorbed the worldview, priorities, propaganda, and behaviors of our previous/ongoing colonizers. Colonizers in a colonized society do not see their conditions as “colonized” because they “match” the environment. It’s easier for us to go along with what’s happening, even if none of it’s good for us. This is what is meant by the privilege of not constantly being faced with one’s own race, for example. No one fully thrives under colonization, because no one can fully thrive while disconnected from the planet and from so many parts of themselves, or while facing the many other toxic results of an exploitative worldview. Like any other form of healing, decolonization serves everyone but is done by the individual on/within themselves.
2) All white people have racist prejudices as a result of living in a white supremacist culture. Not all white people are full-blown racists. A behavior may be racist, but an entire person is a collection of many behaviors over time. Focus on your behaviors/patterns, and assume there’s a great deal you don’t see.
3) The race of someone with a racial prejudice affects whether or not the behavior is racist. Racism arises at the intersection of racial prejudice and systemic power. Without systemic power, a racial prejudice is not inherently oppressive, although still harmful. Remember, “race” is a concept created by Europeans (the earliest records I’ve read about were in Portugal and Spain) to simplify the grouping of ethnicities in order to excuse human atrocities and exploitation. Carl Linnaeus (Sweden) played a role in formalizing the races we still reference today, placing “Europeanus” (later, white) people at the top and “Africanus” (later, black) people at the bottom, with “Americanus” (later, red) and “Asiaticus” (later, yellow) people somewhere in-between (important note here, racism is not equally experienced amongst people of the global majority).
4) “Racist” is not a permanent term. People change. Also, living in a racist world makes this a lifelong process. That’s okay. Colonization has been occurring for many centuries, will take generations of recovery, and that process will not be a straight line or totally forward path. Better to do it imperfectly than not to do it at all. Time, evolution, and healing are not linear.
5) The grief and pain that come with the process of a white person’s decolonization relate to the extremes and longevity of the colonization of others (among other things). The longer it takes to rectify, the worse it feels to face. It helps to think of the challenge as a sign of progress, but it doesn’t help to think of the pain as “deserved.” It may be an acceptable part of a process, just as the pain of setting a broken bone is required before it can properly heal. There’s a difference between wanting someone to hurt, and accepting that change can be painful. Also, the grief/pain of white people is only white people’s responsibility. Everyone else is already dealing with white supremacy on top of their own decolonization.
7) Stepping into decolonization doesn’t guarantee trust or acceptance. That’s okay. You’ll still have friends and loved ones. Besides, real recovery is actually less isolating, especially when you take the wider living planet into consideration. Some folks get real militant about it, some folks become very humble, some folks get burned and turn bitter, some folks get tossed around after becoming attached to new identities and then finding those ones aren’t always right, either. In fact I imagine these are just common stages in the process. Just remember that no one’s perfect and be willing to ease up on identities, whether or not anyone else is.
8) Due to a lack of healthy cultural roots, a white person in a white supremacist culture is at risk of being lured down all sorts of toxic avenues when trying to decouple from whiteness. Fear of abandonment/isolation isn’t the healthiest basis for organizing a new identity. I see the solution to this as a meeting point between reconnecting with pre-colonial, Earth-honoring (i.e. “connected”) ancestors on the one hand, and mindfully choosing new, adaptive patterns on the other. The point of reconnection is not to find ways to be like other indigenous cultures, but to find healthy aspects of our own humanity to relate to, and to find non-appropriative sources of pre-colonial and pre-Christian wisdom/culture that also simplify our lives/identities. Likewise, the point of developing new patterns is not to recreate the wheel or enforce a new ideal, but to always be intentional and adaptive about what we create and perpetuate (and we definitely need to be proactively intentional and adaptive right now).
9) We are not responsible for the choices of our ancestors, but we are responsible for how we interact with the results of their past choices in the present. We are the forward-most face of the overall body of our ancestors. Our responsibility, healing, and intentionality affect the “averaging” of our ancestral body -- the gradual unraveling of “white karma.” 10) Decoupling from whiteness is not the same thing as denying it in ourselves. Even permanent amnesia wouldn’t negate the preferential treatment of white people (and white-passing people, and to lesser and lesser degrees, lighter-skinned people of color). Giving up white identify doesn’t mean denying where you exist in the world. It just means no longer defending or aligning with something so toxic. It means learning, expanding, and aligning with other aspects of ourselves. (It can mean doing something different with that privilege, too.)
There’s so much more that could be said (and probably way better), but this is what I can organize into words for now. Remember, there are no comfortable paths forward anymore, so it’s better to accept the discomfort of growth, and to remember that “growth” stretches across future lives. And remember that this isn’t the only thing that’s happening. We’re all more than just this. Decolonization allows us to be more of ourselves, which makes it safer for others to be themselves, too.

i am not reblogging this post from OP (posted 2 days ago, with 4,400 notes and counting) because i know that often people are just making their own vent posts on their blogs and maybe don’t expect them to circulate widely outside of their small tumblr circle! and i don’t mean to like, jump on someone who is just commenting on something and then going on with their life. but i feel like i keep seeing versions of this sentiment on leftist twitter too and i really think it is a gross misrepresentation of the bill that passed earlier this month - which is due in part to social media’s intense focus on the “stimulus check” part of the bill. but the bill was not called “the stimulus check” act! it was called “The American Rescue Plan” and it was specifically geared towards providing desperately-needed relief to the American middle & working classes. the $1400 direct payments to individuals was just one small portion of the bill. here are the far more important parts:
in addition to receiving a $1400 direct payment themselves, individuals with children receive an additional $1400 check for each dependent
college students who are still listed as dependents on their parents’ tax forms (typically so they can retain health insurance benefits under the ACA) can more easily claim stimulus money - which is huge for college kids who may be helping to financially support immediate or extended family members
unemployment benefits have been extended from March 31, 2021 (their original expiration date) to September 6, 2021
unemployment benefits will be supplemented with a $300 weekly payment (ie $300 on top of what people are receiving from their state government)
unemployment benefits received in 2020-21 are tax-exempt (a retroactive change that means people who are unemployed won’t receive a surprise tax bill counting their unemployment money as “income”)
a substantial tax credit for employers who offer paid sick leave and paid family leave benefits (ie creating a direct incentive for employers to authorize emergency paid leave)
15% increase in food stamp benefits and extension of eligibility
child and family tax credit benefits!!!! this is the part that people are describing as one of the most significant anti-poverty initiatives in American history. families are eligible for a tax credit of $3600 for each child under the age of 6 and $3000 for each child between 6-18. people can also claim a child and dependent care credit with a maximum benefit of $4000 for one eligible dependent and up to $8000 for two or more. it also expands the earned income tax credit and lowers the age limit to 19. dems also pushed to get at least 50% of the tax credit money to people this year instead of making them wait for their 2021 tax return. this calculator allows you to calculate how much families will receive. if you make $50,000 a year and have four children, you will receive $13,200 through the child tax credit alone, paid out in monthly payments of $1,100 from July to December 2021 + an additional $6,600 lump-sum payment when you file your 2021 tax return early next year. there are also some additional dependent-related tax credits things that I don’t fully understand but that seem to indicate people are eligible for even more money.
forgiven student loan debt is made tax-free (a necessary prerequisite for future efforts to cancel/forgive student loan debt)
huge expansion of grant benefits to small businesses, including $28.6 billion specifically for bars and restaurants; $15 billion for low-interest, long-term replayment emergency disaster loans; and $7 billion more for the paycheck protection program (which can only be used on payroll expenses and makes it possible for small businesses to keep workers on payroll even if they are operating at lower capacity). you can describe this as “for the economy only” if you want, but I sure feel like it will alleviate a whole lot of human suffering by allowing people to keep their jobs & paychecks even if their workplaces remain partially shut down. my dad is a small business owner and has been able to keep his entire staff on payroll through the entire pandemic. the bill also includes billions for airlines and concert venues, which will again! means people won’t lose their jobs!! plus it allocates $175 million to fund a Community Navigator Program that reaches out to eligible businesses and helps guide them through the application process—ie making it possible for small businesses to actually take receive these benefits.
$350 billion to state, local, and tribal governments
$130 billion for K-12 schools to improve ventilation, reduce class sizes, purchase PPE for employees and students, and hire support staff; of this money, 20% must be dedicated to programs designed to counteract “learning loss” from students who missed school during the pandemic
$40 billion for colleges and universities, at least $20 billion of which must go to emergency grants to students (our university has been giving regular emergency grants throughout the pandemic to students to help cover rent, unexpected medical expenses, costs related to family emergencies or lost family income, tuition bills that they suddenly can’t pay, fees associated with wifi or purchasing tech equipment so they can learn virtually)
a HUGE amount of money four housing benefits!!!! i keep seeing people yelling about how $1400 won’t cover their rent but THAT’S WHAT THE RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS ARE FOR. $21.6 billion in rent and utility assistance, paid directly to states and local governments so they can disburse it to eligible households!!! plus $5 billion to Section 8 housing (which “must go to those who are or were recently homeless, as well as individuals who are escaping from domestic violence, sexual assualt, or human trafficking”).
$5 billion to support state and local programs for homeless and at-risk individuals (can be used for rental assistance, homelessness prevention services, and counseling; can also be used to purchase properties that will be turned into permanent shelters or affordable housing for people who are homeless). plus an additional $120 for housing counseling.
$4.5 billion earmarked for a special assistance program that helps low-income households cover costs of heating and cooling and $500 million to cover water costs
$750 million in housing assistance for tribes and native Hawaiians (who are also eligible for other benefits through the rental assistance and direct tribal government grants described above)
and then BILLIONS of dollars to support FEMA, the Veterans Affairs’ healthcare system, the CDC, and state, local, and territorial public health departments for all things related to: COVID testing, contact tracing, vaccine production and distribution, vaccine outreach, PPE, and public health education. this includes (among many, MANY other things), $5.4 billion to the Indian Health Services (division of the Department of Health and Human Services that specifically provides health services to Native people and tribal territories), $200 million for nursing loan repayment programs, $80 million for mental health training, $3.5 billion in block grants specifically geared towards community mental health programs and substance abuse/prevention/treatment programs
$86 billion for a rescue package for pension funds (esp union-sponsored pension funds) that are on the verge of collapse - collectively covering 10.7 million workers.
billions of dollars for public transit programs (and sure, public transit is important to the economy, but access to regular, reliable, affordable, and safe public transit is HUGELY important to human health and well-being! it is how many people esp in urban areas access grocery stores, health care, their jobs, childcare facilities, etc.
$10.4 billion for agriculture, of which $5 billion is specifically earmarked for socially disadvantaged farmworkers. to quote wikipedia: “Experts identified the relief bill as the single most important piece of legislation for African-American framers since the Civil Rights Act of 1964.”
tons of money to fund 100% of premiums for COBRA (health insurance for people who have unexpectedly lost or had to leave their jobs) through October 2021. COBRA is hella expensive and experts estimate that 2.2 million people will need to enroll for COBRA benefits in 2021. there are also various provisions that expand Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (a program targeted at uninsured children in families who don’t qualify for Medicaid but may not be able to afford adequate healthcare coverage. it also fixes some things with the ACA that could’ve led to people getting surprise bills due to fluctuating income or unexpected changes in employment status.
i am SO OVER the so-called ‘progressive’ rhetoric that no good can ever come from the government, or that all politicians (dems or republicans) are basically the same level of evil and incompetent, or that ~mutual aid~ (ie small payments made between individuals in a community) is the only thing we can count on or should count on in times of crisis. no!!!! fuck no!!!! like mutual aid is great but America is an INSANELY WEALTHY country and it is such bullshit to act like we can’t or shouldn’t expect our government to take care of the people who live here. and i am also just GRAHARRGHGHH at people who are completely disengaged from politics offering their jaded and hyper-cynical hot takes on things they don’t! actually! know! anything! about!!!!!!! and in the process making other people increasingly jaded and cynical about the possibility of electing a government that actually prioritizes the needs & well-being of its citizenry!!!
ugh i’m just TIRED of leftist political cynicism y’all especially when it comes from people who have absolutely no understanding of how much WORK it takes to make huge things like the American Rescue Act happen (work that includes not just the immediate negotiation of the bill but also the years of organizing & voter recruitment work it took to get a narrow democratic majority in the senate so that we could pass things like this!!!!). I’M DONE WITH BEING CYNICAL!!!! i feel, in a totally earnest and unjaded way, that it’s absolutely incredible that dems were able to write, negotiate, and pass this bill, and i feel so so so relieved to be currently living under an administration that is flawed in many ways but is at least actually and earnestly TRYING to reckon with unprecedented “suffering in an actual human scale” (to quote OP) and is even using this crisis as an opportunity to advance major anti-poverty initiatives that will have a LASTING IMPACT on actual human lives. as opposed to our previous administration, which was made up of thousands of people who woke up every single day and asked themselves “what can I do today to further dehumanize & inflict needless suffering upon millions of people?”
PHEW!!!! SORRY!!!! JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS I GUESS!!!!!!!!
#i went into this thinking i was going to be very measured and calm#but actually i'm pretty pissed off#people fire off their hot takes and thousands of people read them and it's so! fucking! infuriating!!!#no government is ever gonna be perfect! certainly ours still has a shit-ton of problems!!!!!#but i hate the 'only option is to fully disengage & say fuck it' attitude#esp when then thousands of people read it and accept it as truth#long post

for your other anon talking about uni (and this convo in general) i totally get it, i had a major panic attack during an important project in uni that ruined my semester, so i took the next one slow. the only reason i didn’t drop out was because i was on scholarship and needed the money but my mental health was shit until i graduated and there was SO much hostility towards me because of it. the profs who knew my situation would pretend to have my back until i actually acted mentally ill™️ and they’d get irritated and it was just so shit. i think you’ve honestly just got to do what’s best for you, whether that’s pushing forward, working for accommodations, taking time off, etc. the whole culture around academia and mental health is fucked and needs to change and it is absolutely not anyone’s fault for feeling overwhelmed by higher education, especially w/ the lack of proper resources. i also totally agree with what you said, chloe, about everyone’s life having a different trajectory! I really had to learn to cope with that and adjust. but it’s so true, there is no set plan and it’s okay if things take you more time than planned or than they took other people. we’re all on our own path. and honestly i think once you realise that the world can open up in terms of possibilities. like maybe things are still a bit shit at first, but you aren’t confined to the life formula everyone expects from you, things can be a different way and still be ok. anyway hope everyone is well! much love <3 xx
omg so sorry to hear that!! it was extremely unprofessional of your profs to treat you like that but unfortunately it doesn't surprise me at alllll :( academia is so rife with ableism and faux sympathy - the system really isn't build to support or encourage learning in the vast majority of us. i can relate sm to ppl especially working professionals saying they'll make allowances for your health/extend some understanding and then just NOT doing that when it actually came down to it. so fucked up. like they wonder why college kids kill themselves and then they purposefully and carelessly push them when they're visibly already on the brink, if they even notice they're on the brink in the first place. i agree, it's honestly completely understandable that ppl esp mentally ill people would be easily overwhelmed while academia is breathing down their necks the way it does, especially because as an institute it's literally not equipped to deal with the health (mental or physical) crises of its students, bcoz the very nature of the way it currently works is like antithetical to developing stable mental health and a positive self image. ANYWAY i really hope that anon sees this message and that it helps them feel less alone!! you're so right like there really is no one size fits all when it comes to life. nd i really wish the whole school - college - post grad - work bullshit wasn't forced onto all of us like it holds the answers for everything, it doesn't really hold the answer for anything. things can be a different way and still be ok!!! wanna scream that one from the rooftops. anyway thank you sm for sending this in and for being so sweet and understanding abt it, you're a peach :) wish i had friends like you to talk this stuff through with ur insight is so comforting and niceto read. sending you a lot of love!! xx
