Ya'll probably know this by now given how much I post about it but one of my favorite pastimes is watching people react to Stranger Things. I bring this up this time because I've noticed a pattern.

People root for Mileven in seasons 1 and 2 with no problem (with the exception of a couple of reactors who took forever to pick up on it in s1 or just didn't like the idea of rooting for such young kids to be kissing). Esp s2 because everyone wants them to reunite and then said reunion is absolutely adorable.

However, by about halfway through ep1 of s3, everyone just seems to be so bored of them. Like nobody I've watched has ever really expressed the want for them to get back together when they break up. I realize this is probably partially because of the annoying nature of their relationship and the way their whole breakup is played off like a big joke, but that's actually precisely what I'm getting at. Why would the writers choose to make it so easy to stop rooting for the "main couple" of the show??? Just so they could have a comeback arc or seven? If Mileven is endgame, this will probably be one of my biggest hangups, esp given the way Mike was the brunt of the "joke".

One of the main reasons I always go back to Byler endgame despite all of my doubt is because of how the writers treat Mileven's relationship. It's pretty toxic and so it's easy to stop rooting for them or just the repetitive-ness of their story as a couple makes them boring. They wouldn't make the "main couple" the most annoying couple in the show if they were actually going to be endgame.

at a certain point i think we need to acknowledge that art is very rarely created accidentally. if you can see a theme in a work than that theme was, more likely than not, at least somewhat intentional on behalf of the creator. you don't put a piece of yourself out into the world without thinking about what it means at least a little bit.

Powder was never a Jinx, she was a kid who had no business running around with her older siblings. Why is this 9-12 year old out here in this dangerous ass city, constantly tagging alone her trouble-making teenage siblings.?

Vander KNOWS the shit Vi and the boys get into. He knows they don't act in the way he would like them to, not in a way that he approves. Why doesn't Vander make her stay behind at The Last Drop? Or work with Benzo at his shop with Ekko, which could be a safer environment than a bar?

Powder is put in so much unnecessary danger by always tagging along with the others, and the things she's witnessing are impacting her in a negative way, she's being exposed to violence and crime when she doesn't need to be! The fact that she's always around is also hurting the older kids too! The older kids never get a chance to just hang out with each other and be teenagers without having to worry about looking over their shoulder for powder. Vi never gets a moment where she gets to be the sister of Mylo and Claggor, and not just the sister of Powder. Mylo and Claggor never get a moment to have one on one time with Vi. If Powder is always around, then Vi never gets a moment to be herself outside the context of Powder. Vi never gets a moment to be a teenager, she's always stuck in parent moment because she has to step up for Powder.

id be very surprised if people actually did- on a massive scale- switch to 'chax' when the majority, even comic readers, still call magneto erik i'll be tbh elkjaeklj BUT its not impossible ... probably ..

tho part of that may In Fact be due to the fact some people haven't learned that name yet. For Sure if it were used in the mcu/cartoons it'd become more common knowledge but still, i think most people would just stick with 'cherik' for convenience/familiarity
