I wrestled with chatgpt, and after a lot of back and forth, finally got it to produce a fairly decent explanation of radical feminism. It was such a TRA when I started, but once I asked it to adopt a radfem perspective and actual data, it finally relented:
From a radical feminist perspective, transgender ideology is critiqued for reinforcing traditional gender stereotypes, undermining women's rights, and perpetuating systemic sexism and homophobia. This critique encompasses the reliance on gender stereotypes, the erosion of female-only spaces, the impact on women's sports, the suppression of lesbian autonomy, the paradoxical acceptance of transgender identities in conservative, homophobic regions, and the prioritization of male feelings over female safety in contexts such as homeless shelters.
Reliance on Gender Stereotypes
Transgender ideology often defines "man" and "woman" based on adherence to traditional gender roles and behaviors, rather than biological sex. This perspective suggests that individuals who identify as a gender different from their birth sex do so because they align with societal stereotypes associated with the opposite sex. For instance, a man who enjoys activities or exhibits behaviors traditionally labeled as feminine may conclude that he is, in fact, a woman.
This reliance on stereotypes reinforces the very constructs that feminists have long sought to dismantle, as it confines individuals to rigid definitions of gender based on societal expectations rather than recognizing the diversity of experiences within each sex. Without these stereotypes, transgender ideology collapses because it offers no definition of what it means to be a "woman" beyond performing femininity.
Erosion of Female-Only Spaces
The implementation of self-identification policies has led to the inclusion of men in female-only spaces, such as women's shelters, restrooms, and changing areas. This inclusion raises significant safety and privacy concerns, as it allows individuals with male anatomy to access spaces designated for women. Historically, women have established these spaces to provide refuge from male violence and to foster a sense of community and solidarity. The presence of men in these areas can undermine the sense of security and deter women from utilizing these essential services.
Moreover, women's organizations and events have faced legal and social challenges for maintaining female-only policies. For example, women's festivals and bookstores that have sought to exclude men, including those who identify as transgender women, have been subjected to lawsuits and public condemnation. This contrasts sharply with the historical precedent of male-only spaces, which have existed for centuries without similar challenges or justifications based on safety. The double standard highlights a societal bias that prioritizes the inclusion of men over the preservation of female autonomy and safety.
Impact on Women's Sports
The inclusion of men in women's sports has sparked intense debate regarding fairness and safety. Biologically male athletes often possess physical advantages over their female counterparts, including greater muscle mass, bone density, and cardiovascular capacity. These advantages can persist even after hormone therapy. For instance, research indicates that men retain a 12% advantage in running speed over women even after two years of hormone therapy. This disparity raises concerns about the integrity of women's sports and the opportunities available to female athletes.
A United Nations report highlighted that, by March 2024, over 600 female athletes had lost nearly 900 medals to men across more than 400 competitions in 29 different sports. This significant impact underscores the challenges faced by female athletes in maintaining competitive equity and preserving the original intent of sex-segregated sports categories.
Suppression of Lesbian Autonomy
The concept of the "cotton ceiling" refers to the perceived barriers that men who identify as transgender women face in being accepted as sexual partners by lesbians. This notion has led to societal pressure on lesbians to consider men as potential partners, sometimes resulting in accusations of transphobia if they assert their preference for same-sex relationships based on biological sex. Such pressure undermines the sexual autonomy of lesbians and challenges the validity of same-sex attraction, effectively coercing them to conform to heteronormative standards.
This dynamic disproportionately affects lesbians, as there is less societal pressure on gay men to accept women who identify as transgender men as partners. The imbalance suggests a broader pattern of misogyny, where women's boundaries and preferences are more readily dismissed or challenged. This erosion of lesbian identity and autonomy is viewed as a regressive development that compromises the rights and recognition that the lesbian community has fought to achieve.
Paradoxical Acceptance in Conservative Regions
There is no ambiguity: the widespread tolerance of transgender ideology in ultra-conservative, homophobic societies is not due to progressivism, but rather because it serves the interests of deeply regressive social structures. These cultures, which often criminalize homosexuality and harshly punish same-sex relationships, do not tolerate transgender identities because they are more accepting—they tolerate them because they reinforce heteronormativity.
Homosexuality directly threatens patriarchal and religious fundamentalist systems because it rejects the belief that relationships must conform to a strict male-female dynamic. In these societies, a relationship is expected to follow a hierarchical structure where a man takes a dominant role, and a woman assumes a submissive one. Gay and lesbian relationships break this mold—not just because they do not result in reproduction, but because they refuse to define partnerships based on this rigid framework of male-female roles.
In contrast, transgender ideology preserves these structures rather than challenging them. A gender-nonconforming boy who might have grown up to be a gay man is instead encouraged to transition into a "straight woman," aligning his external presentation with heterosexual norms. A masculine girl who might have become a lesbian is pushed to transition into a man, thereby eliminating visible female homosexuality.
This is why transgender individuals often receive more tolerance than gay and lesbian people in highly homophobic regions. The underlying motivation is clear: transgender ideology is being used as a tool to erase same-sex attraction, reinforcing traditional gender roles rather than dismantling them.
Prioritization of Male Feelings Over Female Safety in Homeless Shelters
The inclusion of men in female-only homeless shelters has led to situations where women's safety and comfort are compromised. In some instances, women who have expressed discomfort or concerns about sharing spaces with male-bodied individuals have been removed from shelters. For example, in 2017, two women in a Canadian shelter were asked to leave after voicing objections to sharing a room with a man. This action reflects a broader trend where male feelings are prioritized over female safety, undermining the purpose of women-only spaces designed to provide refuge from male violence.
Homeless women are particularly vulnerable to sexual violence. Studies indicate that 56% of homeless women have experienced rape at some point in their lives, a significantly higher rate than the general population. This heightened vulnerability underscores the necessity for female-only shelters to offer a secure environment. Policies that prioritize the inclusion of men over the safety concerns of women compromise the effectiveness of these shelters and place already vulnerable women at increased risk.
Persistence of Male-Pattern Violence
The statistical reality of sexual violence over whelmingly demonstrates that men, not women, commit the vast majority of sex crimes. In the U.S., 93.6% of convicted sexual offenders are men, while only 6.4% are women. Similarly, in Canada, 94% of sexual assaults are perpetrated by men, with 87% of those attacks targeting women and girls. Furthermore, transgender-identified males are disproportionately represented among sex offenders in prison populations. In the UK, a 2017 report found that of 125 transgender inmates, 48% had been convicted of sex crimes, compared to 19% of the general male prison population and just 4% of the female prison population. This means trans-identified males are more likely to commit sexual offenses than both men and women overall. These numbers highlight the pattern of male violence and further reinforce the dangers of allowing men, regardless of self-identification, into women’s spaces.
Conclusion
From a radical feminist standpoint, transgender ideology, as currently practiced, reinforces traditional gender stereotypes, undermines women's rights, and perpetuates systemic sexism and homophobia. By defining gender based on societal stereotypes, eroding female-only spaces, compromising the integrity of women's sports, suppressing lesbian autonomy, and—most damningly—being used as a tool to erase homosexuality in deeply regressive societies, this ideology presents significant challenges to the progress made in women's rights and LGB recognition.
The prioritization of male feelings over female safety in homeless shelters and prisons, the increasing loss of protections for women in sports, and the erosion of spaces that once protected lesbians all illustrate a larger trend: women’s rights are being systematically dismantled in the name of an ideology that ultimately reinforces male dominance.

I think there is a lot of room for improvement with phone keyboard algorithms. Even as I type this paragraph, my phone tried to autocorrect "there" to "therapy." For me, it is far more common to be typing in something correctly, only to have my phone automatically change it to something incorrect. And the voice-to-text is pretty much shit. In any voice assistant ive used, whether it is google or bixby or the microsoft dictation tool, i find it to be incredibly disappointing and immensely frustrating. It might be small little things like not being able to end sentences very well, which I will say that on my windows computer, the dictation tool by pressing the windows key + h, is pretty nice, but I still have yet to get my phone keyboard to work right. So many times, I'll write out something really well thought out, and then when I go back and read it, i then realize how much shit the phone auto corrected incorrectly. I also find it surprising that my phone fights so very hard to censor my profanity with asterisks. I'm not a child, ffs. If I'm saying a curse word in dictation, then I was to see it fully in dictated. And I also thought it was really weird that when I switched to the microsoft keyboard, there wasn't a place for me to access my clipboard, so I had to switch back to the samsung board. I've also reset my keyboard back to its factory settings. A few times and trying to train it more accurately, but every single time it ends up driving me mad. Sorry, I am stoned and pmsing hard. And this just really pisses me off almost as much as today's political events. But that's a different topic.
Also I just want to add that Google Keyboard has been added periods, spaces and capitalizing the next letter in my text, when all it really needed was a comma. i've had to go back and change like 20+things in this post.

lowkey getting tired of self defeatist blackpill attitudes "the patriarchy will never end" Why not? We went from using boats to rockets in like 200 years but you think men will forever have privilege in society? Why do you think that?

It's not progressive to say "women are oppressed so they should be brutalized in films for the sake of realism". Hate to break it to you, but most men are sadistic towards women, not empathetic. The male film director who recycles the violent pornography he’s consumed isn’t challenging anything. He's only desensitizing an entire audience to cruelty against women.

And the best part is i told my TRA friend about it bc I was supposed to hang with her after and she was like "oh my god, no I know her! And you didn't even give her a chance? That's transphobic" and started pressuring me to give this nasty male a chance. Like babe no chemistry == no chemistry! He can cry about it but just be I'm bisexual doesn't mean I don't get to choose who I'm interested in. Men aren't entitled to my sexual interest, no matter how long their hair is!
Earnest prediction without a hint of joke: at some point, the trans movement is going to decide that the term "trans" is outdated and harmful and derogatory because it implies that they CHANGED and so they weren't ALWAYS their preferred "gender"

Many years ago I matched with someone on tinder that described themselves as "woman" not "transwoman"
It was a fucking man with long hair who id's as a woman. It was awful. He was awful and crass so I left after like 10 minutes.

You can be talking to someone and she'll be like, "Oh I made a silly mistake. Women don't deserve voting rights teehee." And you'll be like, "What." And she'll be like, "Oh I'm sorry! That must sound so bad out of context. No it's this Tiktok meme where, if you're a girl and you do something dumb, you say 'Women don't deserve voting rights teehee.'"
And you'll be like, "That sounds bad." And she'll be like, "No no. It's totally not that bad. It's just a meme. Men say it too. Like if a man does something silly he'll be like, 'I am like those women who do not deserve to vote.'" And you'll be like, "Does that make it better?" And she'll be like, "Well there was one guy who tried to make 'Men shouldn't vote' a popular meme. But it never caught on and also he got yelled at a lot."
And then you drop it there because like, you're harshing the vibe.

it’s a proven fact that when you straight up lie on the internet to deal with the cognitive dissonance of how much you really hate yourself and other women despite pretending to be a ‘girl’s girl’ — you will have a terrible day and get stuck in traffic.
